i love how natural the development between doha and solhee feels, even though there’s absolutely nothing ‘normal’ about their circumstances— solhee can identify lies and lives an isolated life because of her powers, while doha has been living in seclusion and constant paranoia ever since the disaster with eomji. yet, there are similarities they share, and the two find comfort in each other.

A fun thing about fibro/chronic pain vs other disability things is that if someone makes a post like "Be strong, you're amazing!" It just.

Feels patronizing

Because we literally have no other choice. Breaking down is our constant state. Not having energy or strength to go on is the baseline for a good chunk of us. Its "be strong" or die. And death is expensive.

So it just sorta feels like someone trying to apply the positive comments they'd use for mental illnesses that can be improved slightly with positive attitude... to the physical reality of "shit sucks, it gets better for small spans and worse for long ones, and you will never be free until you die or stop feeling sensation".

And saying so feels like I'm being a dick about it, but like. You cant affirmation your way out of burning nerves and throbbing joints. Sure it's nice to know ppl like me are in peoples thoughts but like. How long does that last.

Until someone needs to bow out of a commitment? Until it inconveniences them? Until a bad mood from pain pisses them off? Until the misery is too annoyingly persistent to feel sympathy for?

I'm probably just ranting bc its 1am and my nerves are melting down in a flare, but it bothers me. Idk I think I'd feel better about the posts if there was an understanding there that getting "better" isnt an option. Maybe there is and I'm just grumpy idk

10 Things I Love About Only Boo!

*kicks down the door* I'm a few weeks late but I have arrived and I am here to yell about this fucking adorable show. Have you heard that it's the cutest shit you've ever seen in a fresh new package of all your favorite silly old romance tropes? Besties, this is truly the Sunday Serotonin we need. Here are the top 10 things I love about it:

The main romance is between a confident sunshine protagonist and a kind older boy working through his grief and an artistic block. Mok (Moo) and Kang are such nice boys, two cinnamon rolls too sweet and pure for this world, and I loved them instantly. They have a nice crackly chemistry between them and really solid communication right from the start.

The setting is rural and refreshing. Moo moves to Nakhom Pathom to attend school for a semester because his mom wants him to focus on his studies before she will allow him to pursue a career as an idol. Little did she know she was delivering him to a cute boy who would become the new distraction.

The crushing and flirting starts immediately, and it's mutual. They just like each other, man. Kang is (slightly) older and trying to be responsible about keeping Moo focused on his studies so he's putting up some token resistance, but it's very very token. They both find excuses to keep seeing each other after they meet.

There's a side couple with a long-term pining friends to lovers arc. The way I squealed when they revealed that photo wall. I support you, Payos, you will get your boo. These two also have a lovely, easy chemistry and seem so comfortable around each other. Their characterization also gets a fun twist in the beginning of the story.

The writing is strong and assured. This was written by the same screenwriting team as Cooking Crush, aka the best written original Thai bl of last season. These folks know their way around a smart romcom. They know how to deploy classic tropes so they feel fresh, build authentic character arcs, and make all the beats of the story feel confident. We are in good hands and don't need to worry about any out of left field conflicts or weird plot turns with this one.

A fresh new cast brings a ton of energy. I really love all four of the main actors for this show. They're young and bright and breathing some new life into an old formula. And both pairs have solid chemistry and seem comfortable in their scenes together.

Some of our old favorites are here too. They've made the smart decision to bolster the young main cast by surrounding them with more experienced seniors like our lady Milk, here playing Kang's friend and neighbor who is all up in his crush on Moo. Louis and Book are also going to show up at some point.

The show incorporates music and dancing in such a charming way. Moo is one of those kids who just has to dance, and the show mines a lot of comedy around his efforts to stifle the impulse as his mom ordered. I don't think he'll hold out for long, though, because Payos and Tae are on him to train with them. And of course the music supervisor is having a great time working in some classic GMMTV music gags (yes, Love Score and Too Cute To Handle both make memorable appearances).

It's a high school story brimming with youthful energy without being mired in immaturity. The tone of this show reminds me of My School President in the best way, in that it has all the sweetness and innocence of a high school romance without making the characters so immature and bad at communication that it's annoying to watch. As expected from the CC writers, these characters may be inexperienced but they are going to talk to each other and honesty will prevail every time.

We are only three episodes in and the romance is already well underway. This is the kind of show where we will see the main pair flirt and date and face obstacles together. The swoony moments started immediately and Moo is already throwing around the faen title. We know from the synopsis that the core conflict will come when Moo is forced to choose between his relationship with Kang and his dream of being an idol, and I expect he will be finding a way around that choice. I'll be strapped in for the ride because I already believe in these two.

Kyoshi kill math: cracked and solved

It's funny, like.....if you hurt Rangi, you're chance of dying to Kyoshi goes up like.....150-200% (guesstimating) ajfkdlsjaf; And like that's Kyoshi choosing to kill you ON PURPOSE.

Like look at her bad guy list:

Tagaka, alive (threatened Yun, but didn't threaten Rangi, I see your favoritism Kyoshi, I know what you are 👁👄👁)

Guan (lei tai guy), left alive then died later (Kyoshi left him alive because Rangi beat him and broke his leg, he did of unrelated reasons later)

Jianzhu, dead (was already planning on killing him, but went for kill shot at the mention of him saying he'd kill Rangi)

Mok, alive (was creepy about Rangi, but otherwise didn't harm Rangi)

Wai, alive (weird guy, but not towards Rangi)

Xu Pin An, dead (literally went into the Avatar State because he was mentally torturing Rangi. Thought about dashing his brains out on the floor the second she entered AS, realized she should hold back and only decided to kill him because he was a lost cause)

Governor Te, alive (never came near Rangi)

Saowons (leaders), alive but thought about killing the leaders (only ones she internally didn't think about Rangi at that moment, THAT BEING SAID they also made Rangi's life a living hell. It's also the only one Kuruk thought to step in and stop)

Brawl in North Chung-Ling/Koulin, alive (Rangi beat them up, and Kyoshi actually stopped Rangi from killing Koulin.

Yun, dead (almost killed Rangi)

Chin the Conqueror, left alive but died (Kyoshi chose to separate herself and Yokoya from the combat, Rangi was not seen on the battlefield nor in any danger. Chin died cause he didn't move cause he dumb. She does mention if he kept going she'd kill him, maybe because Rangi could be hurt?🤔)

Rangi defends herself without Kyoshi's help? No deaths. If Rangi is safe? No deaths. Rangi hurt (mentally or physically)? Deaths. Kuruk is also fine with this mentality. It all ties back to Rangi.

ME AND THEE: FULL SUMMARY & OTHER SPOILERS

[BASIC SUMMARY & CHARACTERS] - [NOVEL VS MOCK TRAILER]

SPOILER WARNING! There is basically nothing but spoilers under the cut! While a lot of changes will clearly be made to the series, the novel is still its bare bones. Proceed only if you wish to know all the details.

FULL DETAILED SUMMARY

Peach, a young but successful freelance photographer, is invited to a party after finishing working on a new collection of the Arseni perfume & jewelry brand. During the party, he walks in on one of his colleagues, a popular model Aran, surrounded by a group of seemingly dangerous men in suits. He comes to Aran’s rescue and whisks him away but is first confronted by Tawan – a famous actor, who is in a sort of situationship with Aran and is extremely jealous of anyone who comes near the model – and is later also confronted by Theerakit – one of the men who approached Aran, as well as the owner of the Arseni perfume & jewelry brand and a member of the Arseni mafia family. After having a bizarre conversation with Thee, Peach ends up agreeing to help him pursue Aran – mostly, out of fear for his life.

As Peach gives Thee advice on how to court Aran properly and they spend more time together, the two slowly get closer. However, Peach is having a hard time imagining even a friendship blossoming between him and the mafia, much less something else, especially because Thee expressed interest in Aran and not him. Meanwhile, Thee is realising that he is not interested in Aran at all, as Peach has captivated him completely. Although Thee (with some help from his loyal and far more reasonable bodyguard/secretary Mok) tries to show his affection to Peach, it only confuses the photographer, as he tries to figure out what their visits to expensive restaurants have to do with Aran and why the gifts he receives, presumably to pass onto Aran, are more to his own taste than the model’s. Things get even more complicated when once at dinner Peach reaches for Thee’s plate and Thee grabs his wrist to stop him on instinct, leaving painful marks on his skin. Although it is not at all intentional and Thee tries to make up for it by offering ways to heal the wrist quickly, while Mok tells Peach that Thee is not as scary or awful as he might seem, it reminds Peach of “his place” and who he is dealing with.

During this time, Peach is also working on shooting multiple collections for the Arseni perfume & jewelry brand. However, his team gets assigned a new creative leader Wiwit, who has long had a vendetta against Peach. So, the photographer gets fired early. As Peach is planning a short vacation since his schedule has just been cleared up, Thee finds out about the situation and rushes to his aid. Although Peach decides to still go on the vacation, he tells Thee he would prefer if things were arranged in such a way that Wiwit would not be fired but would instead have to call him personally and beg him to return as a photographer for the collection once he comes back. Nothing is beyond Thee’s means in general, but especially when it comes to Peach, so he does as asked, and Peach, rested and satisfied, returns to his work.

Upon his return, he brings his coworkers some gifts as an apology for all the inconveniences Thee no doubt caused so Peach could get his way and also gives Mok a squid snack for all his troubles. Thee, to Mok’s amusement, is deeply jealous of this snack, despite hating squid, as he is obviously upset Peach did not get him anything. However, later on Peach brings Thee a wind chime and apologises for the late gift, explaining that he hand-painted the ocean patterns onto it himself and they needed time to dry. Thee gets very attached to this wind chime, treating it as the most precious object in his possession, and does not hang it up anywhere at first, as he is genuinely dealing with the dilemma of “not being able to see it while he is in the office if he hangs it up at home, and not being able to see it while he is at home if he hangs it up in the office”.

After his vacation, Peach also receives a call from his ex-girlfriend Mium, who he became fast friends with after their deeply unsuccessful attempt at romance. She offers him another photography job and, although his schedule is packed, he agrees. While working on this project, he meets a young model Kin, who clearly flirts with him, although Peach is completely oblivious to it.

In the meantime, Thee moves his office into the studio where Peach and the rest of the team work. He, of course, does this to be able to watch his favourite photographer, although Peach is none the wiser, and rumours across the office say he is there to watch the model Aran instead. One day, Thee is absent from the studio, as he goes to pick up his younger brother Rome from the airport, while Peach is working with Aran. As he is trying to help the model with his contact lenses, the photographer gets confronted by Tawan, who ends up punching Peach in the face, thinking he was trying to flirt with Aran. Peach loses consciousness and Kin, who is present at the scene, takes him to the hospital. When Thee hears about this, he leaves his brother with Mok, who is in an on-again, off-again relationship with Rome, and rushes to the hospital, arranging the best accommodations and treatment for Peach on the way.

While Thee is not pleased with Kin’s presence and asks him to leave multiple times (which he refuses), his full attention is turned towards Peach in the hospital bed. The photographer, who was begged by Aran not to tell anyone else what Tawan did, lies about his condition and says he is simply overworked. Although this does not sound likely to Thee, considering the marks on Peach’s face, he does not press the issue further, prioritising Peach’s rest. Eventually, however, he overhears a conversation about what Tawan did, ordering his bodyguards to deal with it and, in particular, saying that “if [punching Peach] is the best Tawan can do with his hand, he does not need it”. Regardless, the secret would have been out soon enough, as Peach is paid a visit by Tawan’s lawyer. Thee immediately jumps to negotiations, determined to get the compensation Peach deserves – Peach simply smiles, letting him lead the conversation and thinking about how Thee makes him feel safe and protected for the first time in his life.

At the end of the day, Kin has to leave, while Thee stays by Peach’s bedside overnight, looking after him, which still confuses but nonetheless endears Peach. Later on, Peach’s sister Phlub visits him at the hospital as well. While they are having a heart to heart, Peach confesses that he might have feelings for someone and that it is a man. He says he has never liked a man before, but that it feels right with him in a way it never did with his exes. Still, he has his doubts, both about his own and the other man’s feelings. Phlub supports him and tells him to take his time. They decide they will get dinner together after Peach gets out of the hospital.

So, after getting discharged, Peach is planning to meet up with his sister. However, Thee, who is having a hard time letting him out of his sight after the incident, suggests he come with. Peach is incapable of protesting. Phlub is surprised but curious about this new addition to their table, so she attempts to grill Thee, but he easily explains that he is simply trying to take care of Peach and confirms that he is attempting to court him. Phlub suspects that this is who her previous conversation with her brother was about but doesn’t press the issue further just yet.

When Thee returns to the office, Aran comes to meet him. He reveals that Tawan is in the hospital with a fractured hand and, confident in the rumours about Thee being interested in him, attempts to leverage his affection so Thee and his people would leave Tawan alone from that point on. Thee sees right through him and, infuriated by such a blatant attempt to use his feelings, mockingly asks Aran if he would have sex with him in exchange. This is when Thee notices that the door to his office is not entirely closed and that Peach has been standing there, overhearing their entire conversation. Thee tries to explain himself, but it is too late – Peach excuses himself and leaves, both trying to process what he heard of Tawan’s fate and being hurt by Thee’s suggestion to Aran, taking it in earnest.

Peach goes to stay with Phlub for a while, as he figures Thee would be able to reach him if he stayed at his apartment, although he does not cut off contact entirely and occasionally still responds to Thee’s texts. While Peach is processing his feelings, he realises that he might have done something similar to Tawan if it was Phlub who was hurt by him, also acknowledging that the mafia lives in a different world, where violence is normalised in a very particular way. Phlub eventually pushes him to admit his feelings for Thee, and Peach decides he wants to meet up with him, but that he still needs a few days to prepare. Phlub decides to inform Thee of this meeting personally, as she wishes to “assess her future brother-in-law”.

While Phlub expects to see a scary side of Thee, throwing things and screaming in a fit of rage, what she finds instead is a very quiet, clearly sad, and severely sleep-deprived man, who is clinging to his ocean-themed wind chime like a lifeline. Thee asks her about Peach and she decides to lie, telling him that he keeps crying because of the whole ordeal. As colour drains from Thee’s face in response, Phlub gets her confirmation that his sorry state is because of her brother. They have an earnest conversation, where Thee admits that he loves Peach and promises that he would never hurt him. Phlub reveals that her and Peach’s father died early and her mother remarried a violent man, who always abused them, but one day snapped and almost killed Peach, promptly kicking both the siblings out of the house. Phlub managed to get Peach to the hospital and they both lied that they were orphans, which was how they ended up spending their last few childhood years in an orphanage. When Peach came of age and had to leave, he began working and taking care of Phlub. This backstory sheds a lot of light on how Peach has been feeling and Thee is afraid he hates him, but Phlub rushes to reassure him that he does not and tells him about Peach's wish to meet up with him. Thee immediately clears his entire schedule to be able to see Peach. Phlub leaves the office satisfied.

When Thee and Peach finally meet, they have a real heart to heart. They talk about Tawan, Aran, and all the other things that have been bothering Peach, but eventually what does it is Thee’s genuine love confession and heartfelt promise to care for, protect, and love Peach as long as he draws breath. Thee and Peach start dating.

Peach takes Thee to an orphanage where he grew up and which he still visits from time to time, also introducing him to a pair of siblings that remind him of him and Phlub, who he wishes he could adopt. Thee’s only worry is that the children might be scared of him, as most people feel uneasy when he’s around, but they get along with him just fine, and Thee, with his fears dissipated, says he would be ready to take this step with Peach. Peach also meets Thee’s mother Nath and manages to impress her so much that she is ready to adopt him herself the same day.

In the epilogue, three years later, the whole family gathers for New Years. Phlub has also been unofficially adopted into the Arseni family and is beloved by them all, especially by Nath. Rome and Mok arrive together, seemingly still dating, at least at the time. Thee and Peach come with their two children, who they adopted two years ago, in tow. As they go to their bedroom and settle the kids for the night, Thee proposes. Peach says yes.

OTHER DETAILS

This is basically just a collection of details that I find interesting / important / just plain cute, but that I decided not to shove into the already lengthy summary + some thoughts on details that are up to interpretation.

THEE - Thee once had a friend, who, as it turned out, was just using him for his family connections, which at the time solidified the idea that he shouldn't trust anyone but his family in his head; - that said, Thee ultimately believes that "Family isn't just about blood or adoption. Sometimes, it's about the people who choose to stay by your side, the ones who care for you."; - he is not a very touchy-feely person in general, even with his family, but Peach is an exception, and he is incredibly clingy with him (although we are talking about the novel here, let's be honest: yet another separation anxiety puppy Pond Naravit character has hit the building); - like 75% of Thee's inner monologue is just "Peach is so cute"; - Thee can certainly act like a petulant child at times, but he is also fully aware of it in a very "what the fuck is wrong with me" way (I wonder how this contrast will be shown in the series, if at all, because in the novel we see him do something stupid followed by inner monologue, where he's like "well, that was fucking stupid"); - he hits himself with a metaphorical stick any time he upsets Peach, truly giving "I upset my husband, I should kill myself" vibes to the max; - when Thee is first trying to figure out what his feelings towards Peach mean, he lands on the idea that Peach is his close and trusted friend, which is frankly also a really big deal for him; - when Peach cries in front of Thee, he is literally like "I've seen beautiful men cry, I've seen elderly ladies cry, and I didn't give a shit, but him??? Him crying breaks my heart actually."; - after a little awkward exchange between Thee and Peach, Thee keeps looking at his phone, picking it up and setting it down again, in hopes that Peach might have sent a message - teenager with a crush core! - he is actually quite shy before he realises his feelings and even as he does, he is very careful about his advances: the first thing he starts doing after he realises he is in love with Peach is simply sending him breakfast every morning, because he knows Peach has stomach issues but often doesn't have time to cook in the mornings; - the day Peach agrees to be Thee's boyfriend, Thee immediately tells his secretary Mok to make sure that day's date is free every year forever, as it would be reserved for their anniversary.

PEACH - Peach is consistently abandoned by people and has learnt to be entirely self-reliant, so he feels very lonely; - in all Peach's past relationships, his exes got bored of him and left, so he is afraid the same thing will happen with Thee; - Peach feels like Thee is the first person he's ever met, who truly understands and appreciates him; - when Peach sees Thee in his more casual clothes for the first time, he very nearly dies in a mix of embarrassed and horny, Gods bless; - Peach gets really shy and almost embarrassed around Thee a lot: never having been in love before, he really seems out of his depth here, unsure how to deal with the fact that his heart is trying to jump out of his chest whenever Thee so much as looks at him; - whenever Peach needs Thee to do something for him, he is kind of coy about it, like "Oh, it would be so lovely if [this] happened ;)"; - when Thee and Kin are arguing over him, Peach "feels like he is watching a drama" and "finds it entertaining", so make no mistake, he is a little but of a diva himself.

THEE X PEACH - Thee immediately finds Peach incredibly amusing and endearing, even in moments he would usually find anyone else annoying; in turn, Peach also finds many little things that Thee does endearing, to his own surprise; - there is a lot of physical comfort in their relationship from the very beginning: they both feel a little uneasy in other ways, Peach in particular is kind of terrified of hanging out with someone who can probably shoot him point blank, but whenever they are just in each other's space, whenever they touch, it's warm and calming and just nice; - Peach feels protected by Thee and it takes him a while to really trust that feeling, as he has not felt protected by anyone ever in his life, but perhaps even more interestingly, Peach starts feeling safe around him relatively quickly, which is once again an unfamiliar feeling to him, but also just isn't how people typically feel around Thee, including Peach who was terrified of him at first; - Thee always puts Peach first, which is shocking enough for Peach, who has never been put first by anyone, but which is also sometimes genuinely a business or monetary sacrifice on Thee's part, which he nonetheless makes with ease; as Thee once says to Peach: "Choosing you is the most worthwhile decision I've ever made."; - Thee tells Peach: "Even if the sky falls, I'll help you carry it."; generally speaking, he is kind of begging to be used by Peach, who keeps refusing many things Thee offers, though worry not: slowly but surely, Peach gets more comfortable with using Thee's influence and connections; - you best believe Thee is under Peach's thumb almost immediately, he has never said "no" to Peach even once and does, in fact, often say "no" to himself, when Peach doesn't want something, Thee very quickly becomes determined to let Peach do anything he wants to, even if it is frustrating to Thee himself; - Thee is very gentle with Peach, even the slightest touch comes with an unspoken (or occasionally spoken) "Is this okay?" question; - overall, Peach is very steadily and somehow calmly falling for Thee, it's like he is slowly walking into the ocean, a little bit scared of the sharks, yet fully aware of what he's doing and taking the next step with ease, enjoying the waves washing over him; similarly, Thee accepts the fact that he is falling for Peach warmly and willingly, despite having been taught that he should not trust anyone outside the family; - there is a very interesting juxtaposition of Peach, who has never been in love or really seen people in love properly, but who has dated and knows how it works 'mechanically', and Thee, who grew up with parents that love each other deeply and who knows exactly what loves looks like, but who has never dated and isn't even sure what a date looks like: they have a lot to teach each other; - their first date is at a movie theatre, they go to see some complex psychological film and end up sharing their opinions on the meaning and the ending: ultimately, a small moment, but goes to show that they have a ton in common and have a lot to talk about; - there is a moment, when Peach ends up crying in front of Thee, but instead of trying to make him stop or get into his space, Thee just sits there, letting him cry and not judging him for it, and it feels very comforting to Peach, it makes him feel better to just be allowed to cry it out while someone is there for him at a distance; - Thee genuinely deeply admires Peach's photography; - Thee loves kissing Peach's hands; - they both "don't like places with harsh sunlight or overcrowded spots".

SEXUALITY - we only know that Thee has had many one-night stands, but it is never clarified with who, and otherwise we only know about his brief interest in Aran and his forever interest in Peach: thus, we have active confirmation of him being attracted to men, but no confirmation on whether he is or is not attracted to other genders; - Peach has only dated women before and he is rather surprised by his attraction to a man; that said, we know that Peach has never truly managed to fall for any of his ex-girlfriends, he says that "in the comfort zone [of his past (heterosexual) relationships], he felt emptiness and loneliness", while "being with [thee] feels good, for the first time, he feels like everything is okay, like he can finally breathe properly": now, this is all up to interpretation, of course, and i have no way of knowing what the author intended by all this, but i spy with my little eye something that starts with "comp" and ends with "het" - this is just a headcanon, though, and you are allowed to interpret it however you wish.

FAMILY - Thee is very close with his family and they are all very nice: his parents are deeply in love, his dad is very open-minded and particularly wishes for his son to finally find love instead of focusing solely on work, his mom loves him to bits, and he is very close to his younger brother Rome; - Thee has certainly been taught some conflicting things by his family: on the one hand, they've always told him to never trust anyone outside their family, on the other hand, they keep wishing he finds a partner; - despite being the younger brother, Rome is the one who will eventually rule the Arseni empire: this was a mutual decision by both brothers, as Rome is far more cunning and fitting for the black market business, while Thee does great with their "clean" businesses that mostly work as cover-ups, but that are nonetheless quite successful, thanks to Thee's genuine efforts; - Thee's family calls him 'Kian': as Peach and Thee start dating, so does Peach; - Thee's mom is the first 'adult' that Peach feels truly cares for him and genuinely wants to take care of him; - when Peach admits to worrying that he is not rich enough for Thee, his mom laughs good-naturedly and says: "As for the idea that rich people should marry other rich people, don't listen to that. What I want is someone who can help spend the money."; - Mok actually grew up alongside Thee, with the explicit purpose of becoming his bodyguard and confidant, he is essentially the only friend Thee has and one of the few people who sees him for who he truly is.
