After 6 long years...
Moroz is finally free to reunite with his son.
#dragonfable#dragonfable spoilers#frostvale#frostval#Jacek#Moroz#As suspected Jacek was responsible for his father's continued confinement via accident#There's still much to question about him being born under the Snow Prince's Star#We don't appear to be any closer to grasping the history of what that truly is and I think narrowing it down could be fascinating#For now though Jacek has his father again without losing his place with the frost moglins and that is enough to rejoice#...Good lord that golem hit like a truck

The Frostval Sweaters Incident
It starts, as many things do, with Cysero. Because of course it does.
Or rather, it starts with Cysero’s… sweater.
The first to see the sweater is Warlic. It’s late, or perhaps early, and the Blue Mage is in the kitchen fixing himself a cup of tea when Cysero enters, humming an unfamiliar tune. Warlic doesn’t look up at first, choosing instead to finish pouring his tea.
Mug in hand, he turns, mouth opening to greet Cysero, only for the words to get caught in his mouth as his eyes widen.
The sound of ceramic shattering fills the air as the mug of tea slips from his hand and falls to the floor, but Warlic hardly even notices, too distracted by… whatever it is that Cysero is wearing in place of his normal tunic.
It is violently green. It has the appearance of a knitted garment, but the longer one looks the more the texture seems to be not quite right. There are… sparkles. Frills. Lace. Multiple rubber ducks, which appear to have been cut in half and attached through means that Warlic cannot figure out.
Honestly, it hurts to even look at for too long.
Cysero merely grins, and though his eyes are hidden by his hair the way they always are, Warlic swears they gleam.
“Hey Warlic! Like my Frostval sweater?”
“Your what.”
It is not a sweater. That’s the general consensus, once everyone in the tower has seen it. It perhaps look like a sweater, if one squints and is feeling very generous in their descriptions. But it isn’t a sweater, and no one has any idea what it could possibly have to do with Frostval.
None of this stops Cyseros from insisting that is, in fact, a Frostval sweater, nor does it stop him from making more… and then inflicting them on other people.
Alexander falls first, if one can call it falling. Giving in certainly isn’t the right term, either, because there is absolutely no reluctance involved on the part of the pyromancer. He simply shows up to tea with Lynn one day wearing a colorful abomination.
“It’s fireproof,” he says cheerfully by way of explanation. “I think it brings out my eyes.”
“You don’t have eyes.” Amadeus, as always, is blunt. “You have eye sockets.”
“It still brings them out.”
Lynn, meanwhile, looks at the garment critically. It’s a bit long for a shirt, really, more like a tunic. It is large, and loose, and looks incredibly comfy. It is a riotous mess of colors, with tiny fake presents attached to it at random intervals through unknown means. The tiny presents have fake flames on them. From one of the shoulders, a tiny plush frost moglin hangs in distress, dripping glitter.
“I want one,” Lynn declares, and Amadeus turns to look at his daughter with poorly concealed dismay. “With skulls. And dragons!”
In the face of Lynn’s enthusiasm, Amadeus finds himself as helpless as any other parent subjected to childish whims and a brilliant smile, and in short order he and his daughter both are in possession of one of Cysero’s Frostval ‘sweaters’.
Lynn’s, at least, is somewhat tasteful, albeit more of a sweater-dress than a sweater proper. There’s skull-patterned lace trim along the hem of the skirt, and dragons and dracolichs chase each other across the whole of it, colorful and sparkling.
Amadeus is less fortunate. The sword pattern is fine, but the pom-poms and glitter are decidedly not, and the less said about the fur trim the better.
“That is an… interesting look on you.” There is no hiding the amusement in Jaania’s eyes.
“It makes Lynn happy,” Amadeus says, clearly grumpy about it. Left unsaid is how he would submit himself to various mortifying ordeals if it would please his daughter.
“They’re honestly really comfortable.” For a flaming skeleton, Alex looks remarkably smug. “You should ask Cysero for one, too.”
“I-”
“You should,” Amadeus agrees, all traces of his earlier annoyance now gone and a glint of something else in his eyes. “Perhaps you’ll get one with ice.”
“Oh, no, no ice,” Cysero says from behind, making all of them turn. The smith had not been there a second ago. “I’m thinking… dragons!”
“Dragons?” Jaania echoes, visibly confused.
“Mhm! Dragons. Maybe some stars, too! That’d fit best.”
Cysero vanishes as quickly as he came, leaving puzzled and bemused expressions in his wake.
There are dragons on Jaania’s sweater when it’s finished, bright and majestic things made of shimmering sequins, stitched against a backdrop of blue and green. Further sequins and beads form strange constellations and stars, and along the sleeve cuffs there are images of strange machines that leave Jaania with a strange sense of deja vu.
Nythera looks at the garment with a critical eye. “The dragons do suit you, I suppose. And the colors.” She gives a contemplative hum. “I think I’d like dragons on mine, too.”
“Yours?”
“I’m fairly certain it’s an inevitability at this point.” She says it very matter of factly. “Maybe if I get in on it now I can suggest something for Warlic’s.”
“Like what?” Jaania asks.
Nythera simply grins.
If Cysero’s sweater hurts to look at for too long, the one he makes for Nythera is almost painful to look at at all. It’s like Cysero took a chunk of abyssal void and made it into the vague shape of a sweater. The quick glimpses people are able to take of it give impressions of teeth and claws and scales. Nythera is able to look at it just fine, and is delighted over the results.
She is even more delighted, however, by the absolute monstrosity that Cysero inflicts upon Warlic.
It looks like Frostval threw up on it. There are ribbons. Baubles. Sequin snowflakes. Glitter. Lace trim and fur trim and little presents and tiny frost moglins and bells.
It’s hideous.
It’s also the most comfortable thing Warlic has ever worn.
Unfortunately, he does not get the chance to wear it for very long before things go sideways (more so than the tower already is). Perhaps it is the use of void in Nythera’s sweater, or perhaps some other force is the cause, but whatever the catalyst, the end result is the same - a laundry golem made of the fused Frostval sweaters, far more powerful than any laundry golem has the right too be and far larger and more colorful, as well.
The resulting rampage through the tower by said sweater golem could hardly be called a surprise, really. It is dealt with swiftly, because the people who call the tower home are all powerhouses in their own right, but it is enough of an annoyance that a ban is implemented on Frostval sweaters so as to prevent a repeat occurrence all the same.
And thus, what will come to be known as “The Frostval Sweaters Incident” comes to a close, much to Cysero’s vocal disappointment.

DragonFable Timeline
Hello again my friends! Now that Book 3 is complete, I am back with an updated timeline complete with holiday events! It isn't perfect, as I am missing the most recent holiday events (really hoping I can fit those into Book 4 or the space between Books 3 & 4), but I think this is a pretty accurate timeline overall, perfect for all those wanting to play the game all the way through now that Book 3 is finished.
(One thing to remember is that not all holiday events happen exactly on the holiday itself, and not all are explicitly a year after the last event. I have placed certain holiday events in the same year where it makes sense to do so)
Book 1
Year 1
A Hero is Born Bored
Oaklore
Falconreach
Undead Assault
Sepulchure's Flying Fortress
Ice Dragon War
Frostval Chapter 1: A Frostval Tale
(This technically isn't actually the holiday itself, but instead the event that leads to the Frost Moglins creating the holiday, so it does not necessarily have to happen at the same time of the year as the holiday. After all, Jesus wasn't born in December)

Day 26 - Zip
Rael had enough of the moogles. They were sick and tired of them and their chattering, all their requests and their pranks. Yes, they had seen enough of these furred little monsters for the rest of their life — which is saying a lot.
The Viera had really tried to befriend the moogles! After all they were mostly peaceful and harmless creatures and Rael had already met some of them in the Black Shroud. Even there they had been little rascals with a tendency to cause trouble but usually they had meant well.
The shroud-moogles’ distant relatives from the Churning Mists however were on an entirely different level of being annoying. First there had been this ridiculous game of hide-and-seek, which Rael would have excused by the little creatures being shy and scared of strangers.
Then there had been the moogles‘ chieftain, Moglin, a particularly big and pompous fellow who had demanded them to pass a series of trials first, before offering help. Even that could have been acceptable if these trials had actually been tests of their abilities or trustworthiness. But instead it was very apparent that the moogles simpy tried to pass the chores they found too annoying onto someone else.
That way all of them had been entangled in a never ending set of ridiculous tasks! Collecting herbs and flowers, playing bodyguard for a slightly narcissistic specimen, household chores, helping a forgetful artist with finding his belongings and so much more — all in all nothing the moogles could not have solved by themselves if they weren’t so lazy.
The worst part of it all had not even been the little rascals constantly following them around, chattering, singing or trying to prank them until Rael almost yelled at them all to shut up. No! The worst part was that A’viloh seemed to enjoy this whole ordeal all too much. In a way Rael was glad he had fun and got along nicely with the moogles, but after a few hours of dealing with their combined silliness, Rael began to question the Miqo’te’s sanity.
Just as Rael was checking the kupo trees around the settlement for the moogles’ favourite food, A’viloh appeared, once again with an entourage of giggling moogles. Someone had braided colorful flowers into his hair and a wide happy grin was on his face.
“Rael!,” he already exclaimed happily before he even reached the Viera. “Look! I’ve been making flower decorations with Mogsy, Mogomo and Mogret!”
Rael sighed and tried to look friendly enough as they turned around towards the small group over overly joyous visitors. “That’s very nice, A’viloh…”
“I had to show you this one, because you like interesting plants, right?”, he happily kept on chattering and presented a small flower consisting of a white, round cotton-like pom. “See! Mogomo told me this a small version of these big plants we’ve seen earlier! The moogles call them Cloud Mallow and use it to spark motivation and joy!”
Rael raised an eyebrow and still wondered if that had been an euphemism for moogle drugs when A’viloh held up the strange cloud-like flower and took a deep breath. With one gust of air the blossom burst into hundreds of tiny parachute-like petals — most of them landing right in Rael face. The viera pressed their eyes shut and started to sneeze vehemently, while A’viloh and the moogles giggled.
Apparently these plants either were no happiness-inducing drugs or they simply worked differently on Viera, because all Rael felt was a growing sensation of anger. Once they had recovered from their sneezing fit, Rael just breathed deeply, trying to stay calm, and looked at A’viloh with a tired expression on their face.
“Very funny… Now would you mind helping me with gathering the ripe kupo nuts?”, they asked and held out the small basket in their hands for A’viloh to take. He immediately did so, seemingly very happy about his new task. Equally euphoric were the three moogles, who took each others hands and started a dance above A’viloh’s head, while singing another squeaky song about their favourite food.
A while A’viloh excitedly hummed along to the melody, before turning one of the fruits this way and that, eyeing it curiously. “What do these things taste like?”, he wondered aloud.
“You never have eaten kupo nuts, kupo?”, one of the moogles asked almost shocked, to which A’viloh shook his head.
“How horrible, kupo!”, another one cried. “You really should try one, kupo!”
The third one nodded. “You should, kupo! They simply taste mogtastic, kupo! We should all eat kupo nuts together, kupo!“
A’viloh seemed to like this idea. “Would you like to try a kupo nut too?”, he asked and offered one to Rael.
With a shake of their head, the Viera sighed. “We are supposed to gather them, not eat them, A’vi…”
One of the moogles nervously flapped with their tiny wings and arms, probably seeing their clever plan of stealing some snacks in danger. “Not even just a tiny one for each of us, kupo?”
“Please, Rael!”, A’viloh pleaded with his most irresistible expression on his face. „We will gather sooo many more that no one will notice a few missing.“
„Do whatever you want…“, Rael said unwilling to have a discussion about this.
The three moogles and A’viloh cheered happily and started to laugh and babble and sing again, while Rael tried to get their work done. A part of the Viera still wished they would all shut up, at least a minute, but seeing A‘viloh this happy was also not that bad.

Dungeon Dialogue: Sohr Khai
An Answer of Sorrow (X: 10.6, Y: 13.6) - Hraesvelgr’s Trial Begins
Aymeric: Let us prove our worth, my friends! ↳ Alphinaud: Aye, beyond a shadow of doubt!
First Boss, Before engaging (X: 10.6, Y: 8.4) - Chieftain Moglin
Alphinaud: By the Twelve, it's Chieftain Moglin! ↳ Aymeric: That he should be part of the trial...
First Boss, During the fight (X: 10.6, Y: 8.4) - Chieftain Moglin
Chieftain Moglin: This is as far as you go, Forename! You and your ridiculous name won't make it past me, kupo! Chieftain Moglin: This is no time for naps, kupo! Everyone fights! No one quits! Chieftain Moglin: I'm not chieftain because I'm the biggest... I'm chieftain because I'm the baddest, kupo!
First Boss, After defeating (X: 10.6, Y: 8.4) - Chieftain Moglin
Chieftain Moglin: Kupopo... That's enough... You've made your point. This isn't a fight to the death, kupo... Alphinaud: I didn't expect to face the moogles... ↳ Aymeric: I pray they aren't too badly hurt.
An Answer of Silence #1 (X: 11.8, Y: 16.0) - Reaching “An Answer of Silence”
Aymeric: <pant> The air is rather thin this high up... ↳ Alphinaud: It isn't a race, so let us pace ourselves.
An Answer of Silence #2 (X: 11.8, Y: 11.6) - Ratatoskr’s Crest
Alphinaud: The wyrm depicted on yonder crest... ↳ Aymeric: Neither Hraesvelgr nor Nidhogg. It could only be Ratatoskr.
Second Boss, Before engaging (X: 11.8, Y: 9.6) - Poqhiraj
Alphinaud: A winged horse...and an enormous one at that!
↳ Aymeric: There isn't much room to maneuver. Have care!
Second Boss, After defeating (X: 11.8, Y: 9.6) - Poqhiraj
Alphinaud: That creature was truly fearsome in motion... ↳ Aymeric: Thankfully we managed to rein it in.
An Answer of Shame #1 (X: 11.8, Y: 15.3) - Ratatoskr’s Sanctuary
Alphinaud: Good heavens, what a majestic place... ↳ Aymeric: I daresay we are come to Ratatoskr's sanctuary.
An Answer of Shame #2 (X: 12.1, Y: 13.0) - Ice Path
Hraesvelgr: Thou hast weathered my trial thus far...but I am not convinced. I will try thy limits. Aymeric: We will win you over, Hraesvelgr. Mark my words. ↳ Alphinaud: What awaits, I wonder...
Third Boss, Before engaging (X: 11.8, Y: 9.5) - Hraesvelgr
Hraesvelgr: Nidhogg will spare thee no clemency. And thus neither must I. Alphinaud: Pray watch over us, Ysayle! ↳ Aymeric: All that I have, I shall bring to bear!
Third Boss, During the fight (X: 11.8, Y: 9.5) - Hraesvelgr
Hraesvelgr: Come, warrior. Show me what strength doth remain in thy frail mortal shell! Hraesvelgr: The sky is the domain of dragons. How wilt thou contend with such mastery? Hraesvelgr: Thou art formidable... But canst thou endure until the bitter end? Hraesvelgr: Fight on, warrior! Press thy attack! Hraesvelgr: ...Thy resolve hath withstood my scrutiny. Mayhap there is hope to be had in one such as thee...
Third Boss, After defeating (X: 11.8, Y: 9.5) - Hraesvelgr
Aymeric: I shan't soon forget this trial. Alphinaud: I gave my all. I pray it was enough...
