No one ever mentions the difference between the manga and anime of DN. The major example is that in the anime, Ryuzaki is L and that’s accepted by everyone. In the manga, Ryuzaki claims he’s L and no one believes him. They think they’re separate people, like Ryuzaki is L’s stand in. Of course we as readers know that’s not true, but try telling any of them that. Also, Mogi is also L. So it’s kind of not their fault thinking Ryuzaki isn’t L, especially when there’s apparently three but we only hear about two as the reader.

I wonder if after passing years, any of the task ever looked back and saw light, still 23 and in his best suit. How often did 35- 40- 50 year old Matsuda ever see those bullet holes and wonder if the kid he shot was even still there when he pulled the trigger. Do they reflect on that time with an awful nostalgia and remember when light- and feel their stomach eat itself alive with guilt for a child they never could have saved. Does Aizawa ever look at 25 year old Yumi and think about how Light never even got close? How those short years could have been even shorter if he were deputy director and she were god of the new world- god that died begging- or died alone- died before he ever really lived.

I wonder if his ghost haunts them.

i just remembered that before i watched death note for the first time, i was under the impression that l and light were the same character. i thought light turned into l when he used the death note and was then called dark yagami.

why do u draw death note characters without ethnic features? U know most of them are Asian right?

that's a rude way to phrase a really interesting and important question lol. but i do actually that's my favorite part :3 i always take note into the different facial and body features each character will have because the feeling of being seen has always been the most important thing to me in art styles.

i know recently i've been focusing more on fluidity and emotion of characters and less-so the shapes of them, so the differences are more subtle than i used to make them because of that, but just because i give them big eyes sometimes doesn't mean i've forgotten they're asian. <3

anyways here's the initial shapes i have for all the main characters because i really adore different facial features they make me really happy :)))
