My Adventures with Superman EP 4: Design Works
My goodness it feels so strange to see these designs two years later but I actually had a hand in Clark, Lois and Jimmy’s gala suits in episode 4 of My Adventures with Superman!
Tumblr media
This happened WAY back in Sept 2021 but during my first week on the show I jokingly sent a piece of art to one of the design leads and well, one thing led to another:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is kind of running gag with my work, but I somehow always predict things when I draw fanart haha. I truly didn’t know there was gonna be a gala episode and now I was tasked to do a pass for the main trio’s gala outfits.
CLARK KENT
Tumblr media
Naturally since it started with Clark, he was the first one I did a pass on. I actually really like men’s suits design so this was the most fun to design out of the three. Overall, I drafted up four different suits that gave 4 different feels for our soft boi. Option A was a full 3 piece with slick backed hair (which honestly now feels very Bruce Wayne than Clark haha). Option B had a high school prom feel, Option C was more business casual (hence why his dress shirt was unbuttoned at top) and finally Option D was sleek turtleneck & suit combo. Honestly, I was rooting Option D ‘cause I’m a sucker for a turtleneck but if I  remember correct they went with Option B ‘cause it felt the most Clark. But just know I tried haha.
LOIS LANE
Tumblr media
Lois’s outfit was quite challenging since I had no clue until I was given the assignment that she’s Korean (yes, Lois is canonically Korean in the show). I remember the design leads Jane Bak and Dou Hong showing me a rough concept of a modern hanbok. I spent so many days researching hanboks and the construction behind them...it truly was a learning experience for me haha. It was quite challenging trying to create and outfit that spoke to Lois’ heritage while still keeping her energy. This was my very first pass but I think ultimately the team did a great job to hone in the final look and balance both elements for her outfit (the backless top is just chef’s kiss). Also yes, I did try giving Lois slick back hair haha.
JIMMY OLSEN
Tumblr media
There isn’t much to say about Jimmy’s outfit (sadly I left the production to work on Spiderman Freshman Year before seeing what they decided on). But from what I remember, I specifically was looking at men’s outfits from the Met Gala from that year and before (I think Chadwick Boseman was the biggest influence for me at the time). Though I think his final suit design aren’t like too far off from my initial thoughts, it’s still super cool to see how it evolved into the final look!  But yeah! Just a little behind the scenes on the work I got to do on the show. Again, super brief since Spidey was calling my name but I truly had so much fun getting to design for this show. MAWS was my first ever time doing design work (since I primarily work as a 2D animator and board artist). I was so nervous but the team was welcoming and taught me so much! I really have to thank Dou Hong and Jake Wyatt for taking a chance on me and allowing me to draw hot anime characters for a DC show haha.

Jeoseung Saja: Korea's Psychopomp/Grim Reaper
---
Deep down, I wanted to get into magic/mythology/spirit work from my roots -- from Korea. (Yes, I am Korean raised in the US)
I'm not really interested in the modern take of Korea either other than I just want to learn more about our vast ancient history and Korean shamanism down the line.
None of the Korean pantheon was pinging me though. The only thing that pings to me intuitively is the Dokkeabi (Korean goblins) and the Jeoseung Saja. (저승사자)
...
(I'll credit the artist/source when I find them! -- image isn't mine!)
Tumblr media
Who are they?
Jeoseung Saja are basically the grim reapers/psychopomps of Korea. They primarily serve to guide souls to the afterlife -- and yes, they're more than one of them. They are said to be a class of bureaucrats responsible for this task of guiding the dead. They wear high quality black hanboks with their traditional "gat" hats to signify they are beings of authority...and they smoke to apparently to de-stress. Ha...
Interestingly, there are claims that they can be killed despite their role.
Sometimes, they are known to also aggressively chase people who try to cheat death, and only certain wards can keep them out...but not for long.
...
My relatives and I described them as tired men at work going in and out of our world on a tight schedule, to come pick us up eventually like Uber drivers.
I am curious in just learning more about this, and possibly just leaving offerings like a snack stop for them.

12. Chuseok and future plans
(1 year after the death of Mr and Mrs Lee)
Tumblr media
On the cool autumn morning, it's the lunar calendar's 8th month, the 15th day dawned with a whisper of anticipation, heralding the joyous celebration of Chuseok. Having arrived at the ancestral home of his grandparents just the day prior, they would be expected to be awake early in the morning to lend a hand with Charye and pay their respects at the family graves afterward, which also includes Raon's parents once they get back to Ulsan.
The day kicks off at the crack of dawn, with Minhyeok and his older brother rising at the ungodly hour of 4:30 AM to pitch in with the cleaning and preparing of fruits and vegetables. He most likely will join in with the cooking once his old man and his grandfather stock up on meat and fish for bulgogi and saengseon, though he remembered that they will also get some makgeolli as offerings.
They sluggishly got to the well-lit and spacious kitchen, prominently featuring a large window that showed the dark sky and the beautiful porch and a cozy patio, nestled amidst a serene outdoor setting that evokes a sense of tranquility. The coldness of the air contrasted with the warm tones of the interior. Looking at the room again, despite being a small component of the modern hanbok, Minhyeok appreciates his grandfather's great design of it when his parents gifted the old couple the house when the man retired from the Marine Corps.
"Good morning you two, Minhyeok are Raon still sleeping?", the gentle voice of his mother pulls him out of his thoughts as he and his brother step down the short stairs to the brown cabinetry over the two working women and they each took baskets of fruits and vegetables from the white countertop to the sink to clean.
His mom and grandmother stopped their chatter and finished cleaning the dishes. With practiced hands, they gather the necessary ingredients from neatly arranged bowls and jars, each item meticulously chosen for its quality and freshness.
Less drowsy than before, he can guarantee to not slur his words to not make a fool out of himself in front of his respected grandmother, especially when he proudly offers his help last night, "Yes, she's still out like a log, but I could try to wake her up. She's a heavy sleeper, but I'm sure she'll be happy to lend a hand once she's up"
With the background noise of the water from the sink, the air begins to fill with the fragrant aroma of rice flour, subtly sweetened by the scent of honey and sesame oil. Minhyeok's grandmother carefully measures out the precise amount of flour, her weathered hands expertly forming a well in the center. Meanwhile, his mother easily cracked open eggs, their yolks vibrant against the pale backdrop of the mixing bowl. With a warm smile when she glanced back at him, his grandmother reassured him.
"Thank you, dear, we're glad to see you all so eager to help out but let the girl rest, she must be tired", her callous hand softly smoothed his ruffled hair as she walked by him to get the kettle, "It warms my heart to have my family gathered together, working side by side on such a special day."
With a gentle touch, his grandmother pours warm water into the well, slowly incorporating the flour until a smooth dough begins to form. His mom and grandmother then begin to work in perfect harmony, their movements synchronized as if they share a secret language known only to them.
While he wanted to protest a bit, he couldn't deny her, he also wouldn't want to disturb Raon's peaceful rest right now, she woke up twice last night in a panic and landed a kick to his rib in her wake, which also effectively wake him up when he falls down from the bed. He had to guide her back to sleep by gently rubbing her head like how her parents used to do so for her when she had trouble sleeping. It was quite a marvel how she went back to sleep within 10 seconds.
His brother also pitched in, "We've got this covered. Let Raon sleep a little longer. Also, here we're done, is there something else you need help with?" his brother puts plates of fresh and cleaned plates of decorated fruits next to baskets of vegetables.
Coincidentally, his old man and grandfather also come down to the kitchen, back from their trip from the store.
"We're back. We got the meats and some makgeolli for later", his old man said as the two men set down their brought goods, took off their coats, and hung them on the wall hanger.
His mom turned to his dad when he walked over to her while she was making the filling - a mixture of sweetened sesame seeds, finely ground chestnuts, and a hint of cinnamon. As his old man lowered his head to her right shoulder and placed his hand on her waist, she planted a soft kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you, honey, and thank you, Dad, for your help. Minhyeok, could you please start cooking the bulgogi? And Hyunwoo, could you roll the songpyeon dough into small balls once your Halmoni fills the mixture in? I'll take care of making the daegu-hoe", without missing a beat she took the cod and started to prepare the dish after she examined it.
"That's right. Now, why don't you two set up the altar before coming down to help us with the preparations?", his grandmother addressed the two men and they all nodded in agreement before immersing themselves in the work. Raon woke up at 5:30 and joined them, helping his grandmother with the yakgwa, chattering away in the meantime.
It is mostly mundane topics, from health to what they did last week or what happened lately, but the topic then changes to Minhyeok, Raon, and his brother's education and future plans. The subject got an anxious flinch from Raon, which she shrank further when she noticed how everyone in the kitchen noticed it. They ignored it for her sake and focused their attention on Minhyeok and his brother.
"So, Minhyeok, Hyunwoo, how are your studies going?", his grandfather started as he started to make tea with red ginseng his father gifted the couple yesterday.
"Ah, it has been going well, Harabouji", his brother quickly answered to ease the tension, he continued, "I've been thinking about becoming a dentist. And I want to start my career in the United States"
Silence fell upon the kitchen as what his brother said sank into them.
Well,... It was a shocking new, it got him distracted from his cooking too. It is not that he doubts his brother's capabilities, no, the older teen has always been an intellectual, thanks to his teaching that both he and Raon don't need to go to hagwon like their peers. His strong interest in dental hygiene is very obvious in where he wants to be in life, and always makes it a point to take good care of his own teeth while reminding others to do the same. His crush is also in his school. Minhyeok thought his brother would stationed in Korea.
"Oh? That's quite ambitious. Why the United States?", for some reason his old man seemed a bit less collected than usual, he's not the type to be surprised by this, the few times Minhyeok saw him like that was an incident with his mom's stalker. The strain in his eyes was quite out of place while his mother only looked at them in worry. His brother only calmly continued without missing a beat, yet his eyes never met anyone in the room.
"I've been doing some research, and it seems like the best course of action would be to complete my undergraduate studies first. That way, I can focus entirely on my education without any interruptions", his movements while efficient, becoming more and rigid. His dad also seems to notice and relaxed his face and voice.
"And dental school?", short and straightforward as usual when a tense situation like this happened.
"After completing my undergraduate studies, I plan to apply for dental school in the US. I'm confident that with my academic achievements, I can secure scholarships to help cover the costs", he never got these two, they got more relaxed just by the other treating them like colleagues, it's weird.
The scent of the food got his focus back and Minhyeok transferred the cooked bulgogi to a serving platter, the glossy caramelized glaze glistening in the light. He garnishes it with thinly sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds, adding a final touch of freshness and texture.
While he was doing that, his brother and dad seemed to relax the tension by themselves once his brother reported his detailed plan to defer his military service, from the MMA, MND, to the South Korean Embassy, etc. It's confusing and convoluted, and when Raon and him share a look, their thoughts are understood immediately. Even his mom is looking at them with a now amused smile.
While the others are still focused on his brother and old man, Raon walks over to him, notion for him to lower his head, and whispers, "Hey, Min, what about you?"
"Me?", honestly he expected this question sooner or later but it would be a while before either of his grandparents asked. Raon helped him pick up all the plates of food to the living room table since everything was pretty much done.
"Yeah you, what do you want to do? I mean, you have always been... good at pretty much everything. For me, I think I want to pursue a career in literature"
"That sounds great, Raon. You're good with words. I'm sure you'd excel at it if you put your mind to it"
If she becomes an author, he needs to keep his eyes out for any of her publishing.
Raon smiles giddily, lightness graces her steps, "Thanks, Min. What about you? Have you thought about what you want to do?"
Once they settle all the plating on the table and he thoughts about it. He... honestly doesn't know what to do, he feels too inexperienced to give a satisfactory answer to questions like these.
He likes making friends and he likes spending time with people he loves. He likes sports, he likes arts, he likes cooking and baking, he likes learning new things, he... He doesn't know what he wants to do.
"I have been living quite aimlessly huh..."
Seeing his silence, she awkwardly pats his shoulder, in an attempt to comfort and redirect his attention back from his daze and he looks back at her curiously.
She hesitated for a while and she gripped his shoulder lightly as she tried to find her words, frowning cutely at that. Looking at her face his heart seems to unconsciously untangle itself.
"Seriously, I'm so bad at this...", he waits and he feels some sort of realization forming, "I- whatever path you choose, you- You will be good at it ok?!"
A sudden rise to her voice surprised him and the intensity in her eyes when she looked at him, made his heart do a backflip, his face felt hot all of a sudden.
"A-Also! We- we are still young anyway! We have time to explore our choices. We will support each other during it anyway," the excitement and foreboding gripped his entire body with vice when he saw her blushing embarrassed face.
"Oh"
"You are always there for me so I will be there for you if you don't know what to do", her genuine words left him clinging to them.
"Oh no", this is dangerous, his heart is about to jump out of his throat at this point.
He almost didn't notice Raon raising her hand with her pinky finger to his face, "L-Let's make a pact to always encourage each other to follow our passions, no matter where they may lead us!", her face is furiously red now, it's so lovely, he both want to fold into two and laugh. So he does both.
"Hey! Stop laughing you bastard! I cannot do this heart-to-heart thing so stop making it longer!", she gave him several light-hearted smacks to his back but he saw her growing grin despite her grumpy actions.
"This is ridiculous, yet,...", he looks up at her crouching figure next to him, looking down at him, hiding half of her beautiful face with her arm and the other pinching his left cheek in annoyance.
"I want to be with you and I want to make you happy", a realization never feels easier than this. It feels warmer and nicer compared to the fervor he expected.
He extended his pinky finger and her eyes brightened up and she quickly hooked her pinky with his.
"Every step of the way?"
"Every step of the way"

So lunar new years is accentually the Asian version of New years. It lasts to around two weeks and usually you get those days off for family and such. So this year it's on January 29th, which is rlly annoying. Because the 29th, can't we just round it up to the 30th ? Or down to the 28th ? Unfortunately it's not possible because it's by the moon. So the first few days are devoted to family, it also depends where exactly your from. It's often called the spring festival as well as it's the coming of the new year and spring is apon us. It lasts for 15 days and the lantern festival is on the last day of lunar new years. This year is the year of the snake.
In China :
There are often huge festivals of course bringing, Dragons, lion dances, and fireworks
This time of the year is when you celebrate with family so family reunions are often at the beginning.
However you want to be careful because the first person to step in your house is said to set the mood for the whole year. So make sure the person is in good spirits.
You've probably heard of them or seen jokes about them but there are red envelopes that contain money, usually given to children, sometimes teenagers. And newlyweds are often given them
-
While in Korea it's known as "Seollal" (설날)
In Korea it's a time where families pays respect to all their ancestors.
Often during this time Koreans will wear traditional clothing called hanbok. As well as "preforming deep bows" to the elders. It's accentually giving thanks to them. The bows are called "Sebae"
They also have a tradition with money however they call it "sebaetdon". Aka new years money.
Food is often put at it's highest during this point of time ! Eating dishes like tteokguk (rice cake soup), japchae (glass noodles), and mandu (dumplings). The tteokguk is in shapes of coins so people eat it for wealth and good luck.
They are also known for playing games, which I can't recall right now.
-
Dispite Taiwan usually being pretty similar to China their traditional can Chang
In Taiwan it's 16 days instead of 15
Like China they also have family reunions(actually they all do) and they call it "sweeping away the old" for the new year. So people will often clear their house spotless even going to the extreme of getting new things (I don't because I'm quite lazy)
Much like Korea they also have feasting ! There's so exact food they have but some dishes are said to bring good luck !
They also will cut up poems and hang them on doors and other places (idk where tho). And at the end of it all they'll be ripped up and disposed of symbolizing the end of the old and the start of the new
Temple visits are also very common, they'll burn incense and often visit with family !
Once you wake up on the day of lunar new years you should stay away the whole day and often after that (I also never do that because I take like 1000 naps. Infact my parents are NOW just telling me that's a tradition sooo.....)
In the words of my mother "Yes yes eat pineapple cakes" so Uhm... Yeah pineapple cakes ... :,3
This is also the time married daughters will come home with their husbands and kids (if the parents don't already live with the daughter)
And then it's not reconized in Japan (yes some places in Japan do that but I've yapped enough so...)
According to Google : "Japan stopped celebrating Lunar New Year as a national holiday in 1873 when it adopted the Gregorian calendar. The shift to the Gregorian calendar was part of the Meiji Restoration, when Westernizing was considered a sign of "modernization""
So accentually Japan celebrates normal new years with most of the world. But they still follow a lot of traditions just not the lunar part.
Some others do it but those are the countries I am from so that's the ones I know the most about
-Love Kwon (so sorry for yapping that much)
i want you to know that i read all of this a few hours ago and just forgot to respond.. it’s all super cool! id love to celebrate with you in some way at some point :) you could teach me even more!!

"We're your biggest fans!"
Ye Olde Fan Girls is a project that combined the time period of the Renaissance to the modern day. Taking inspiration from our own heritages and the global craze of soccer(football) fans, we designed and made our outfits to reflect many things.
Red Knight Fan Girl (me): Hanbok is the traditional garment of Korea. While evolving over the thousands of years, the most well known version is from the Joseon period. This also happens to be the same time of the Renaissance. Around the 1400s is also when hangul was invented. To reflect this I bought hangul fabric to use for the jeogori. I also have a red paper fan with the hangul script on it. Of course with the modern twist, it is a sleeveless jeogori with a short chima. This design was heavily inspired by modern hanbok makers, especially Misung Hanbok for the jeoguri.
Blue Knight Fan Girl (sam who wrote this part): Well final product is inspired by the earasaid, which (to oversimplify) is the "lady" equivalent to a kilt. Traditionally speaking, only Highland men wore kilts, but women could wear their clan colors in a tartan in much the same fashion. An earasaid can be fashioned into a dress, a skirt, or a cape (among other things), with using only a belt and a few pins--no sewing necessary. It's a very utilitarian garment that also showed to the world your pride of your background and your lineage, depending on the colors and complexity of the tartan. Following the Jacobite rising of 1745, the "Dress Act" of 1746 was passed, banning the wearing of the kilt and other such "Highland dress" as an act of rebellion. It would take 35 years to overturn this law, and to this day the tartan is a proud Declaration of independence and rebellion for many.
Thank you to The Jousters who are always putting on amazing shows with their amazing cast. We can't help but be fan girls!
Ye Olde Fan Girls will return next year...

Cultural Notes for Matchmakers Episode 1
This was well timed in terms of humor. And the camera angles were well-thought through. It was worth spending my time watching this.
I'm here to get hated yet again for typing up notes on the drama mostly from fetishist Koreaboos who don't want Koreans like me to be humanized and Korean supernationalists who hate my comments for showing the downsides of Korea in an honest fashion along side the upsides.
BTW, I do have historical sources in English and Korean for these assertions. Not that the Korean super nationalists care. And you could just skip it over instead of being mad that I'm sharing.
Cultural Notes:
I'm really hoping from the cues this is mid-Joseon, or early Joseon. ~~ We've mostly gotten late Joseon or really late Joseon in dramas lately. (What historians call after the Imjin War, since Joseon is generally split into two parts.) You can tell by the jeogori (hanbok Jacket, I'm specifically referring to the female jeogori) or the sleeves. The rules on Joseon widows in the mid-Joseon and before the Imjin war were more loose than in later Joseon. (If you need references about this from Korean scholars, I can give them.) After mid-Joseon, the rules on widows got really, really harsh.
^^;; I have to say as someone who makes hanbok for myself and occasionally for friends, etc, both modernized and traditional, I'm an absolute nightmare nerd about hanbok. If you want an essay on Three Kingdom Hanbok differences between the various Kingdoms, say between dramas and what historical museums say, I have that memorized. I also have memorized the differences between hanbok and hanfu, and of course kimono, and yes from different eras. Total geek on the subject. Also, I can super geek on kimchi too…
Rowoon's intonation, and inflection on Joseon speak is really good. ^^ I'm saying aesthetically, and technically it's beautiful. This is one of the times if you don't know Korean and the cadence you should wish you did. Some actors really struggle with the words so much that their emotional inflections flatten and their sense of timing goes off, but he's really smooth about it.
Some people may know that hangeul was invented in early Joseon by King Sejong the great, 세종대왕, but despite this, and hangeul being easy to read (which it is, you really can learn it fast). It didn't become more commonly used by the upper class since most of the classics were preserved in mostly hanja (Chinese characters… which isn't exactly the same as hanzi, but that's another whole lecture and a half). So the majority of the signs and texts were still in Chinese characters in mid-Joseon. And South Korea still uses hanja on occasion to clarify words in texts. The first text to extensively use hangeul is said to be Hong Gil Dong, written by Heo Gyun, who lived 1569 – 12 October 1618. In order to make it understandable to the lower classes. Hangeul became more widespread after the Korean War, with the amount of characters dying down from the 1950's onwards, but it's still taught in schools in South Korea. North Korea got rid of hanja, officially (from reports and from my University Korean History teacher doing a project there.)
The countryside matchmaker is using dialect (saturi). ^^;; It's not very stable though in terms of acting, but I'm pickier than most Koreans.
It is absolutely true that they thought too many women in the palace caused a drought, so occasionally, they would release women from palace service in order to balance it.
The last note is to listen for the word "Nunchi" It's literally eye measure, but it's a kind of perception/intuition which is a core part of Korean socialization. You notice things about the environment, parts of people and the world, in order to try to create better harmony between people.

Timeline: 15 November 2020, Tuesday night. Location: Private residence in Seoul. Attire: See above; his favorite modern hanbok. Mood: Moody.
Getting Ye-jun private care happened as soon as he got back to Seoul from the US. His mother who had a lot of concern regarding her son’s health handled the entire process and was present during the applicants’ interviews. However, Ye-jun’s escalating behaviour made it difficult for the first nurse to remain employed...
Ye-jun grew moody, in constant pain and discomfort. He was in and out of hospitals which made many speculate that he wasn’t going to survive. His peculiar side effects including terrible nightmares made specialist to look more into how his body was handling the transplant.
Ye-jun’s new heart grew strong but he seemed to grew weaker. And moodier, darker as time progressed.
By September, Ye-jun had gone through a dozen of private nurses that his mother even wanted to give up.. She didn’t want to push the idea of hiring a new one right after the last one was just sent home packing with a lump on their head. Ye-jun’s family had to settle so the nurse didn’t press charges after Ye-jun threw a mug of cold tea at them...
Despite the fact that it would make Ye-jun unhappy to bring a new nurse into the home, his mother knew that it was important he was looked after. So she decided to hold another round of interview. She was hoping to find someone that would last more than a week at his son’s home. In the meantime, she and a house staff prepare a meal for the musician who appeared moody as usual but exceptionally bright today...
[ i don’t think we started a thread and i really wanna play them, so i kinda moved the plot... i didn’t want them stuck so long ago in 2020 so this is what i can do... i was thinking of re-starting but i don’t want to mess things up so i’m just gonna move the timeline a bit... so in this situation, eun is sickly still but his new heart is doing way better than his body... maybe it’s not catching up to yurim’s power that’s steadily growing stronger... so maybe, the clan thought, he’ll die soon or something but he isn’t really coz somehow, eun is holding on... ]

glacial opulence outfit wc: 250
though a bit miffed that the dress code includes blue instead of pink, hyunhee follows it regardless. her take on the modern hanbok includes a dress with a light, icy blue bodice but white otherwise. long sleeves are accented with silver flowers, gemstones shining throughout.
the model cheats the dress code with her nails, a pink and silver cat eye design adorn her acrylics. of course, the gem motif continues as they are glued on as accents as well. hyunhee doubts that anyone is looking that closely, and the pink blends into her skin anyways.
for her shoes she chooses a short, heeled pump in white, of course. there are also small, silver gemstones dotting the rim of the shoes. perhaps this is a chance to attract swarovski and become a partner?
it’s selfish of her, yes, to be thinking of such things, but hyunhee’s desire for more and more keeps growing with every event she’s in attendance of.
for hair and accessories, she keeps the flow going. her hair is curled and pinned up in all the right places. shorter strands frame her face elegantly. the pins used in her hair are silver in metal and feature small, white flowers with gems for the center.
she keeps her makeup the same; an icy blue shimmery shade paints her lid while her cheeks shine bright as well with highlighter. her lips and cheeks are a rosy pink shade, with the center a bit darker than the rest of her lips.

Some actors really struggle with the words so much that their emotional inflections flatten and their sense of timing goes off, but he's really smooth about it.

do I love it when a piece of media is historically accurate? yes
do I also really appreciate it when the people involved have obviously changed some things just so the actors look prettier to modern audiences?

Did I care about the Oscars? (Mostly) no. But I’m still thinking about Youn Yuh-jung’s post-Oscars interviews because LKFJASKLFJLKASJFLASJ she’s so funny and blunt. And I’m still thinking about some of the red carpet looks (obsessed with Colman Domingo, Lakeith Stanfield, H.E.R., and Alan Kim's red carpet looks from last night (lol Alan's was your average Thom Browne, but he was SO CUTE and i love formalwear shorts).
