All about Modding Genshin

So, I create genshin skins usable as mods in the game (I'm Anilyan on gamebanana).

The modding community is huge, and has been growing since people started realizing that there are no dangers in doing that, and that everyone can learn. There are lots of clickbaity info out there that make people scared of having fun, believing in bans or thinking that skins are cheating when they don't even change game files and have nothing to do with cheating software.

I was one of the people that started helping provide more SFW mods (and I even have a discord server focused on that for people who have questions and/or would rather avoid nsfw stuff). And it has been a joy seeing others value my work and also learn blender and a bunch of stuff just for the sake of turning designs they like into a reality. So, I think I'm quite qualified to do this post.

TL;DR: No one has ever been banned for using fan skins, in a massive modding community. They are PC-only and easy to use, no private servers required.

What can mods do?

What are Genshin mods? There are many types of mods, but this is exclusively about skins, specifically, 3Dmigoto skins. They don't change game files or cheat the game - instead, they are just a visual overlay not too dissimilar from changing the brightness of your screen - and despite being somewhat limited, they are what allow us to not get our accounts banned.

Can I...? No you can't add primos, no you can't change attacks/skills or their values, no you can't change animations, no you can't get artifacts more easily, etc. You can do those things on private servers, and there are mods that are less limited than 3Dmigoto mods (like melon mods), but those things can give you problems, so use at your own risk, and ask about them in more appropriate servers, not this one - this discord has nothing to do with that. That said, other mods that count as a visual overlay, like making certain UI elements invisible, can still be achieved with 3dmigoto. Either way, the whole Kaveh Destroyer of Worlds episode has nothing to do with skin mods or 3Dmigoto.

How do I revert back to not using mods? There is no such thing as "reverting back" because the game is not actually being changed. Refer to the safety/banning section for more details. Every time you want to see skins in your game, you have to run a certain program before launching the game, otherwise you won't even see it. So if you want to stop seeing mods completely, just never run that, and delete the folders that contain the program and the mods since in that case they will just be cluttering your pc.

What do you need to use mods?

Do I need to play on pc, or mods work on playstation/mobile? Sadly, no. I've only seen one video that seemed to be on playstation but I have no idea of how that was achieved or if it's using 3Dmigoto. Either way, skins are pc only. So I don't need a private server to use skin mods? Yup, you don't need a private server, skins work perfectly in the official server ^~^

Anything else that I need? You will need to turn off the Dynamic Character resolution, and please watch the entirety of the tutorial I put in this post because it's an updated one, and that will be relevant,

Will I get banned? Is it safe?

Will I get banned for using skins in my official accounts? Like I said, 3Dmigoto doesn't really do things like cheating - the only broken rule is the fact that this counts as a 3rd-party software, but in about 85000 people using mods in the main discord server alone, literally no one has been banned (and most of them mod in the official server, not in private servers). And this has been going for well over a year. Hoyoverse knows about the existence of mods, but they seem pretty indifferent so far, and either way it would be difficult for them to ban people when mods don't change game files, even though mods can be detected.

Can other people in co-op see that I'm using mods and report me? No, because it's just a visual overlay on your side, the characters are not actually wearing another skin/glider. The only way people would know would be if you shared screenshots or recordings with your UID visible. If 2 people with mods co-op, each will see the mods that they picked for the characters, not the mods chosen by the other person. So if they took screenshots and showed them, they would only be denouncing themselves, not the other person.

What if Hoyoverse changes their stance? If they do, they will just issue temporary/short bans, not a permaban. That's what sometimes happens to HSR players and we don't even know if they are banned for using mods or for issues with the anti-cheating system mistakenly accusing people. Either way, the developers of HSR are more strick and people still don't have issues. And the modding community is so large that, if hoyo wanted to ban everyone permanently, they would lose a massive chunk of players. It would be a huge loss for them.

How to use and update/fix mods?

I'm convinced. How do I use mods? Follow this tutorial (embedded below): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAsb__3uK3o&ab_channel=Snowlit It's one of the most updated videos, so I recommend it over older ones, or you will struggle with some issues that arose with game patches.

Where can I ask for help if I find issues? If you are having difficulties, I suggest going to the AGMG discord server (invite: https://discord.gg/agmg - you need to prove you are using mods or trying to access other channels) and ask there in the channel dedicated to help you. You can also join my own discord server, focused on SFW mods, and we have help channels there too.

Why are so many mods broken? It's possible that those were all broken with the game updates. A script to fix them/update mods tends to release a few days after the patch is around, you can just run it in your Mods folder and it will fix all mods inside at once. Look for the version of this tool for the current patch: https://gamebanana.com/tools/15654.

This has already happened several times, so it's not reasonable to expect modders with tons of posts to update each of them when you can just easily fix it yourself and all at once. Only ask for fixes when there are things broken that can't be solved by you, or that require modding knowledge or access to the blend file - and even then, the modders have a right to refuse.

A good way to know if there is a widespread solution that works on multiple mods is to keep up with the announcements in the main discord server AGMG. The best places to check if a widespread solution was already made are either the announcements in the main modding server, AGMG (invite above) OR go to the gamebanana genshin modding section » Tools » Other/Misc (https://gamebanana.com/tools/cats/1239)

I've run the fix but the mods are still broken, what should I do? Most issues you will encounter are in the video I recommended. Either way, these are some frequent problems:

You can't have more than one active mod for a certain character in your Mods folder, unless they are merged (you know that they are merged if you have a merged.ini). This happens because, since we can't cheat the game, we can't add skin slots, and all mods will try to load over the same official skin of a given character - therefore, if you have more than one, they will conflict. Apart from merging, if you don't know how to do that yet, you can also put some mods you downloaded in a separate folder (so, not your Mods folder), or just write DISABLED in the start of the name of the folder with a mod you want to inactivate.

If some parts of the model are not loading properly, try going inside a domain with the modded character. Any mod can have that issue, it's just a loading problem that GIMI sometimes has, but going in a domain tends to reset it.

All mods are broken for you? Did you try disabling the Dynamic Character Resolution in the settings? Because that is required to use mods.

I found this mod where the character floats and/or changes underwater, but it's not working. You are probably not getting the appropriate files to track the character state or offset it, or are not putting them in the right place. Here is a step-by-step guide with pictures of literally all you need.

My mod shows a green reflection in the character menu, how do I fix it? You need to add this ORFix.ini file into the BufferValues folder inside your Mods folder: https://github.com/leotorrez/LeoTools/blob/main/releases/ORFix.ini. If that doesn't solve the trick, that's because the mod creator forgot to also add the line instructed in that link, basically how the picture below shows, but you can do it yourself. This is necessary for all characters released during and after Sumeru.

Pricing and commissions

Why are there so many mods behind paywalls? Actually, there are no mods behind paywalls. Except paywalls put up by scammers and thieves that steal mods that were free. Or that they thought that were paid, but those great heroes didn't even bother to check that all genshin mods can be a maximum of 1 month on patreon before being released for free. They all end on gamebanana or, like I said, in the main modding discord server. So before you subscribe to a patreon selling mods, make sure that you can't find the mod in those platforms I mentioned, and if that is the legitimate creator, subscribe only if you want the mod in early access and/or to support the creator. Because even if you don't become a member, you will still be able to get the mod soon.

Can I see my OC's in Genshin as a mod? Yes, with limitations. Your OC would work as a skin that overrides a certain character, in outfit/body, hair and iris. It won't be an actual new character. Besides, since we have limitations to avoid cheating, we can't add new animations or abilities, and that includes being unable to change the face and eye shape (the iris can be changed, just not the external shape, eyelids, etc). As for the height of a character, that can be changed but comes with certain downsides, like the weapons not being attached to the hands, the animations still looking the same, the camera being stuck at the original level, and the worst offender for me is the face stuck in the same expression and with a bad shading. So take all of that into consideration when picking what character to override, and deciding if it's worth to change the height of a certain character or going immediately for one with the correct height and facial shape.

How can I commission an OC/skin? I suggest going to the main discord server AGMG, verifying/proving that you are using mods in order to access all channels, then head to the commissions-area and see who has commissions open. If you don't want to commission anyone, you can still try your luck in the requests channel in that server, since some people accept free requests and even more if they have a bounty (which is cheaper than a commission).

How to create mods

Where do I start if I want to make my own mods? That depends on what stage are you starting, and if you have any skills that you can reuse for modding.

For example, if you are an artist, you have advantages at texturing, and if you are a 3D modeler or at least know a bit of blender, that will make the modeling easier (yes, genshin mods require blender, so if you are familiar with another software, you will have to learn this one).

It also depends on what your goal is: If you want to do full custom skins and all by yourself, that is more work, but some modders specialize in only one aspect of modding and work in collaboration with other modders. For example, I started as only being a texture artist, and now I also do full custom models, but the weights for my mods are always made by someone else.

Recommended order for absolute beginners: texture mods, small model changes and kitbashing, bigger ports or more ambitious kitbashing, and then custom modeling. If you want, you can do weapon mods too, they are technically simpler than characters.

Are there tutorials that I can follow? Of course ^^ I am making my own written tutorials, some of which you can already find in the Resources folder of this discord. I also compiled a brief list of where you can find videos to follow, here.

Keep in mind that most of these tutorials are about modding genshin, and don't teach you in depth how to model, even though you can still learn a bit from there. But I recommend that you do your own search on how to model things in blender if you aim to do custom models. Keep also in mind that many things that look 3D, in genshin, are actually details painted over textures, so don't go overboard with polygon count. Either way, the guides there are varied and will help with most issues you might find.

What content creators need to know

I'm a content creator. Is there any risk? Don't try to use mods as an official Genshin content creator, since they have your UID and Hoyoverse doesn't officially support mods. Other than that, your account is not at risk unless you show your UID in videos/screenshots, and even then, the chances of someone reporting you are very very slim.

Also, don't post anything that includes the word "mod" in the title, because youtube (and twitch?) flag them and you can have your videos taken down due to it being assumed that you are using a private server - even if that is not the case.

AND DON'T FORGET TO ALWAYS CREDIT MODS. Either way, the risk would be only for the video/channel in question, not for your genshin account.

How do I correctly credit mods? I'm glad you asked, because people often mess up/don't credit/credit the wrong person and reposters - I see my mods poorly credited every single day xD. Always check if a mod exists on gamebanana, and if not, check the main modding discord server AGMG. Why? Because sometimes people repost videos and credit the source of the video, but the person who edited didn't make the mod and often doesn't credit the actual creator(s). (((Blumiekei is the absolute worst offender))) In the discord server, the message posting a mod in the mod-reposting channel is usuall by one of the authors and includes the others, and on gamebanana, you can see what each author contributed with in the sidebar. You should at least say their names when featuring mods, and I highly recommend that you include the link in some way too, even though I understand that not all platforms allow it.

Why should I credit mods that are just ports from other games, that's just laaaaazy... You clearly don't know the work that goes even into a port, so let me enlighten you - using my Inazuma Ganyu as an example: You can see in the 4th picture here that the final textures have shadows that were not in the original, and the image quality is much better. That's because I painted all of that manually - and it took me over a day just for the textures. Then add the time for placing the model, potentially adjusting proportions of individual parts to be more like the canon genshin bodies, bring back some elements from the original genshin character, merge the textures for everything because genshin can only have one texture per group (Body, Dress and Head), adjust the UV's as a consequence of that, then also make the lightmaps and alpha channel so that the game knows what should behave in terms of shadows and outline like fabric, skin or metallic parts, and FINALLY it's time for weights. That are often a nightmare because, due to the limitations of 3Dmigoto in order to not activate the anti-cheat, we can't add bones or new rigging, so we have to work around by transferring weights from the official genshin model. And in the case of this Ganyu, she doesn't originally have long sleeves, so that's a whole other headache that very few modders manage to achieve properly (me not included, the weights of this mod were made by mimo4e since she is one of the very few that is capable).

And if this is too much text for you and you won't bother knowing the work that goes into a port, don't make assumptions either. If it's good enough for you to use/feature, it's good enough for you to credit.

I've seen a mod with the wrong/no credits. What should I do? You can actually list it in the reports channel of my discord. That way, it's easier for the mod author to know (even if they are not there, we can likely find them), and everyone else with an account in the platform where the video/screenshot was posted can also help by asking the person who posted the videos to fix the credits. Some try to delete messages asking for credits, but if there are many people asking for that, they usually get tired and learn their lesson. Usually. Hopefully. I've seen good and bad outcomes at this point.

Now, I don't have any like, hard proof that any canon MCD and MMW/VP content points towards this ever being true or possible, for example you can bring up the fact that Modzilla has canon parents he introduces Aphmau to in MMW, and pointing out that the scar on Kul'Zak's face doesn't match up with the void burns on Mod's face, and even Kul'Zak's tomb, but for a moment put those aside, I have some explinations for those but they are flimsy at best, but simply hear me out.

To start this out, an important thing to note that if you were a fan of MCD, but never watched MMW (ModMod World) or VP (Void Paradox) or watched VP but not MMW, is that Professor Modzilla is what is known as a void scientist and a dimesnion hopper. Within all of the Aphverse, other than Mod's parents which are met in a one off episode, no other character has this ability or knowlage of these things, save for Aphmau in MMW, Laurence in VP and Jayden in VP of course. Laurence and Jayden being those dimension hopping against their own will and unknowingly.

It should be noted that in MMW's plot, Modzilla is trying to find his way back home, stating he was dimension hopping when he made a mistake and no longer knew how to get home to his dimension. At the end of MMW this does happen. In VP, it can be seen that Mod's home dimension is basically eaten by the larger antagonist of VP, which he runs from into a portal Polly, Aphmau and Tommy open to try and contact him.

Why do I bring this up? Note Modzilla's ability to get himself stuck in a different dimension for large amounts of time.

At some point last year I was very hyperfixated on The Divine Warriors, and spent a lot of time thinking and re-reading about them. Out of all pf them, Kul'Zak is the one we know the littlest about, even compared to Menphina. No info about any place he comes from or nothing. Let it be known that his title, amongst all the divine, is Kul'Zak The Wanderer. All of the divine's titles have something important to do with their character. Esmund of course being the knightly personality and need to protecto others, Enki's vast well of knolwage as the Keeper, Irene's want to protect others in a more healing motherly way as the Matron, Shad's rough nature and dark desores as the Destroyer, and Menphina's rambunctious nature as the Fury. So, what could The Wanderer possibly mean?

Well, here comes my little idea; Kul'Zak was not of MCD's dimention. Some how, a 'Wanderer' found their way into the Divine's company, and as a group of powerful warriors, who would they be to not have a companion with powers relating to dimesnion travling freely. Or well, mostly freely.

The scar upon Kul'Zak's face could easily be a void hopping burn, a minor one, maybe Kul'Zak's first ever one. Maybe hopping into MCD took more power than he was ready for, giving him a nasty, eye closing scar.

Maybe Kul'Zak decided to stay for a while, getting to know this new world he stumbled upon, enjoying the company of these new friends he's made, maybe helping save the world while he's at it.

And so what if while he was here, he was given a special relic by Irene, a woman he's come to see as a close friend, and accept it with full heart. And so what if he's been basically given immortality by this. So what if he watches his new group of friends slowly tear each other apart, reincarnate time and time again only to tear each other apart again and again, over Irene herself.

Kul'Zak never reincarnates. He stays himself throughout the years, alongside Irene. They stay close friends, Kul'Zak being a rock for her throught the years. Never does their relationship become more than that.

When Irene decides she can no longer take it, that she wants to finally gibe in, lose her soul to the natures of rheir world and be reborn a new, Kul'Zak is there, telling her he'll support that choice no matter what. His wanderer powers help bringing them to and from Irene's dimension, and when she finally decides to go, she gifts part of her relic to Kul'Zak, a part of her. She tells him she wants to scatter herself across the worlds, just like how Kul'Zak has, she wants to see the worlds alongside him, even if it isn't her.

Kul'Zak, heartbroken as he is, agrees. When Irene and Hyria finally decide to put Irene into her reincarnation sleep, Kul'Zak leaves MCD's world, not before faking his own death, bringing and end to the 'last standing'of the Divine Gods.

He goes home to his own world, no longer feeling like himself after spending nearly a melenia in a world not his own that became his home. Fufilling Irene's wish, Kul'Zak spends years hopping around worlds, showing the part of Irene's soul around. All this dimension hopping slowly, over time affects Kul'Zak physically and mentally as well. The void begins to burn him, leaving half his body a warped, purple and black mess. Not only that, but he starts to lose himself a little. He remembers his home dimension, he remembers Irene, he's lost his name though, he doesn't know where he's going, if he's going home or if he has somehwere else he's supposed to go.

He finds himself in MMW's dimension. He decides to place Irene's soul here. Let her finally become a whole person again, where MMW Aphmau comes from. Kul'Zak wanders the world, eventually finding himself in the village MMW takes place in. He sets up a labratory, trying to excuse a way to find his way back home, but noting down new information about the dimensions he stumbles upon. Years later, a woman named Aphmau moves into the village, and takes up conversation with Modzilla, the town's weird hermit scientist.

Why would, out of everyone in town, Modzilla only eber trust Aphmau with dimension hopping? Why would he have such a out of no where connection to her from the get-go. He lets Aphmau explore these worlds, she does so safely and she seems to love it, it makes Modzilla think of Irene, how she would have loved this, how he's glad he could give it to her, even if it isn't really her anymore. And of course when it comes to Tommy, Aphmau takes to caring for him like it's natural, which Modzilla can only guess truly shows her past of being The Matron.

When Aphmau helps him find his way back to his home dimension, Modzilla deep down is glad, is not surprised in the slightest that the woman who picked him up when he was lost in a new world was the one to help him find his way home.

The only way I can explain Mod's parents is the possibility that either the type of humanoids coming from Mod's dimension have much longer lifespans, or that dimension hopping in general messes with the being of a person so much that their life becomes strange and longer if not immortal. Or it could be a fake out, not his real parents and just some people he payed off to pretend to be his parents, who knows.

Well, that's about it. If this slowly became less readable over time, it took me about an hour to type up, from around 11pm-12:30, I'm tired but I really wanted to get this typed out. This is one of my faborite hcs, and something I think could really tightly tie in MMW and VP to the rest of the stories. I get a lot of joy and amusment from this concept, I also like to play around with this concept minus the idea of Mod losing his memory, just him playong god in disguise trying to just chill with his life out of the MCD world, except whwn Lawrence suddenly shows up and Mod is the only one who speaks old Ru'auni, who they end up bonding a bit over it, and Lawrence connects the dots that Mod is Kul'Zak.

The Greek Goddesses Challenge by LJJ-Sims is a challenge based on the ancient mythical creatures and stories from Greece. I fell in love with Greek mythology in high school and have not let that love go since. In this challenge you will follow 10 deities in their journey through life. Every goddess has a different take on and goal in life. Special about this challenge?  All your kids have little challenges of their own, not only your heir. These challenges are optional, so if you feel like these are too much or just too restricting for you: by all means let them go. I also have sheets for characters that you can make before you start each generation. This gives your challenge a lot more personality and makes it frankly easier and more fun!

A little disclaimer: because I made these gods and goddesses into a legacy challenge, the relationships in the myths don’t exactly match the relationship in this challenge. There is a lot of keep it in the family in mythology, to put it lightly. And apart from the fact that you can’t do that in the Sims, I don’t really like that part. So I didn’t include it, thus the inconsistency. An example: Ares is now Hera’s stepfather instead of her son, which she conceived with her brother  and husband Zeus. This inconsistency can also be found in the stories. It’s just based on and not copied exactly, as Sims live lives that are a lot shorter than those of immortal gods. And it takes a way from the creativity if we just copy the myths. Even if we wanted to do that, it’s quite hard, as every myths has its fair share of variations and some are just completely different stories.

DAY 20: DANGANTOBER

Day 20: Favorite Kuma/Kub

I don't care who you are. No matter your opinion on Danganronpa, there's one big thing we can all agree on. Haiji Towa sucks, but also that the mascot characters absolutely steal the show sometimes.

From a Monokuma solo act in THH, to the dynamics of the Monokubs in v3, they are definitely a highlight of the game they're in. Your favorite character just died? Monokuma theater. In need of something extremely out of pocket? Rise and shine, ursine!

I don't think I hate any of these mascot characters t all. I think they're all delightful in their own ways. While the Monokubs have their moments that make me uncomfortable, and I definitely had beef with Shirokuma towards the end of UDG, I still like them all.

But alas, I can only pick one today, and for that, here's Mod Tsumugi's official ranking!

9. Monokid. Kinda annoying, left too soon for me to warm up to him.

7. Monophanie. The entire plotline with Monotaro grossed me out.

4. Monotaro. While his plotline with Monophanie was disgusting, he had moments outside of it that made him endearing. Also this picture.

3. Monodam. Anything Jason Wishnov does for Danganronpa is immediately gold. I also really like his entire plot with wanting to take over the Academy, dethroning Monokuma, and getting rid of his siblings when they don't get along.

2. Monokuma. THE MAIN MAN, THIS LIL BUDDY SITS ON MY DRESSER DRAWER, I HAVE A CRAPPY ONESIE OF HIM! He's silly, he's sadistic, his voice is a good kind of grating, and while he has his weird moments, Monokuma could have his own appreciation post all to himself.

But my absolute favorite of these characters, is by far...

1, Monomi/Usami

Is this a hot take? Or is this the most lukewarm, room temperature, maybe even a bit cold take? I don't know. What I do know, is that Monomi/Usami is a sweetie pie.

For those of you who don't know her information, here's a quick recap. I mean it this time, she's really only in SDR2.

Usami was created using research from Chihiro Fujisaki, in order to serve as an observer in the Neo World Program. Back when the NWP was intended for therapy, she would be in charge of watching over everyone inside the simulation, providing a sense of comfort to those trying to heal. She would be typically accompanied by another observer AI that would assume the form of someone the patient knows outside of the NWP. In SDR2, this is Chiaki.

In the beginning of SDR2, Usami walks around and encourages the students to try and form bonds together, and gather "Hope Fragments". Getting all of these hope fragments means that they are fully healed, and are able to leave the simulation. She tries her best to entertain and provide for everyone in the simulation. Personally, Hajime was being the Ultimate Hater in a few of these scenes, though I also would freak out if a talking stuffed rabbit somehow turned a chicken into a cow in front of my very eyes.

After a fun day exploring Jabberwock Island, the virus that Izuru put inside the NWP begins to kick-in, and Monokuma appears. Usami tries to get rid of him, but he managed to get the upper hand on her, breaking her magic stick and remaking her in his image. He renames her as "Monomi", and promptly executes her using the Monobeasts.

She comes back, and Monokuma begins to refer to her as his "little sister", and makes the class believe that she's actually an evil traitor, and working for an organization called "World Destroyer". We know that this organization is actually just the Future Foundation.

As the Killing School Trip begins, she is ostracized from the students. She isn't allowed inside Imposter (Touya's) party, instead having to keep watch outside with Chiaki. When Nagito was tied up in the old building, she let Hajime through to feed him. As the game goes on, she tries to adapt to continue serving her proper purpose, and becomes more panicked.

After each trial, she goes to the entrances of each island and battles the Monobeasts to open new areas for everyone. This goes largely underappreciated, with Akane considering eating her, Hiyoko calling her useless, and the rest of the class largely ignoring her.

She attempts to maintain peace throughout the entirety of the game, and even tries to help Nagito through the Final Dead Room in chapter 4. She stops that pretty quickly though, once he completes the room and she says she's scared of him.

In trial 5, Chiaki is revealed as the traitor, and Monomi tries to protect her from being executed. Their programming doesn't allow them to betray the Future Foundation, but Monomi still attempts to rescue Chiaki by denying involvement with her. It doesn't work, yet Monomi still resolves to try and get rid of Monokuma by self-destructing with him. She is outnumbered, and is executed alongside Chiaki.

This was not the end of her, however. Usami reappears for AI Junko's execution after the NWP was shutdown. She is also seen as the avatar for Miaya Gekkogohara in the anime, though she is also forced to become Monomi and go through the game like that until the computer holding her is destroyed.

I don't like that the SDR2 cast mistreats her the whole game. I get why they do that, it's a logical conclusion to make. If you're being forced to kill each other because of a stuffed bear, the stuffed rabbit is definitely worthy of suspicion. But she's such a sweetheart.

Monomi definitely is the only mascot character that's actively working in the interest of the students since the beginning. The only other ones I can think of who does this, is Monotaro after Miu's death, and Monokuma during chapter 5 of v3.

She is so precious, trying her best to fix the whole situation for her students. She has a genuine care of all of them, even Nagito. She definitely fills the role of a good teacher in their lives, and maybe even foreshadows Chisa in the anime.

I've mentioned on this blog before, that I have never really been involved in fandom culture before, and that Danganronpa really opened my eyes to a lot of what people talk about in fan spaces. One of these things is comfort characters. People always talk about characters that just make them feel safe. I can safely say that Monomi is my comfort character.

She has so many good moments that just made me feel all comfortable with her. Maybe it was because she provided a respite between the more tense parts of the game, maybe it was because her and Monokuma's dynamic was very funny. Maybe it was because of something deeper.

Nevertheless, I definitely cried my eyes out at her last few lines. In chapter 5, she has a little monologue that serves as her last lines of the game.

She's essentially telling them, telling us, to love ourselves for who we are. If you can love yourself, that will support you for the rest of your life. Monomi really only wants what's best for everyone, and she works hard so everyone can achieve that.

But in the end, she's just as powerless as the rest of the cast. Monokuma holds all the cards, but that doesn't stop her from standing up to him multiple times. She gets beaten down and tormented constantly, but she still manages to find the strength to be there when they needed it. She tried her best to be kind and supportive, and that makes her stand out from the rest of these mascot characters.

While the others are, at the end of the day, a bit crazy and evil and sadistic (adorably so) she stands out as being the only one who is trying her best to make you feel better. She's a true ally, and one that we shouldn't overlook <3

She hits me with that, "Bye Bye! Please don't forget about your teacher!" and my eyes get WET. It's not fair, how come this game has such a grip on me? Catch me crying like a baby on rewatches.

The Kings of Monsters

In part 1, I explored the effects of World War II and how it impacted Ishirō Honda and Tomoyuki Tanaka and led them to create 1954's Gojira. The first Godzilla movie directly referenced environmental, economic, and militaristic struggles throughout Japan. Tanaka's first kaiju narrative focused on a great calamity befalling Japan that could only be stopped by the creation of an oxygen destroyer that rots away all life caught in its blast. Because the oxygen destroyer alludes to nuclear weaponry originally, I will use Gojira as a narrative bridge to connect Jujutsu Kaisen back to World War II, and explore how both Godzilla and Sukuna dismantle government structures. Through the lens of Gojira, and context analyzed in the previous two parts, I will argue that Maki, Gojo, and Sukuna all act as Gege's swords against the pen of Japanese bureaucracy.

Overall thesis for this project: Godzilla and Mothra create the cultural context of creatives using powerful monsters (or kaiju) to disrupt Japanese bureaucracy and society, usually to make some larger criticism.

By saying I use Gojira as a narrative bridge, I mean to say that I will compare and contrast the imagery and plot elements within it, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, and Jujutsu Kaisen. All three titles depict a calamitous force destroying Japan while making specific references to the ways bureaucracy inhibits efforts to save Japan. Gojira, as a lens, provides the original context of Godzilla as a reactionary creation after WWII. Furthermore, Gojira acts as a basic framework for the ways Japanese creatives might criticize bureaucracy, and therefore allows me to center my argument from a Japanese perspective.

I choose All-Out Attack because the movie aims to take Godzilla back to it roots. The film begins by referencing Gojira (1954), stating that Godzilla's first attack was ". . .the only real battle that our self-defense forces have had to fight since their foundation in the same year, 1954" (0:01:06).

Shūsuke Kaneko depicts Godzilla as a powerful being connected to the events of WWII. Godzilla's unique origins in All-Out Attack are described as so:

"This animal represents the collective will to survive of many thousands of people. This animal contains the restless souls of the countless people who perished during the terrible battles that took place during the Pacific conflict" (0:24:35).

All-Out Attack uses wise, old men who describe the story's unique lore to the younger cast. All-Out Attack's Godzilla was directly tied to the events of Pearl Harbor, the terrorist attack on America which caused them to openly retaliate against Japan. Furthermore, when asked why Godzilla was attacking Japan specifically, the man answered "because the Japanese people want to forget what happened. They have deemed it preferable to forget the pain and agony they inflicted on all those people" (0:24:16). The pain and agony referenced here could be generally applied anywhere, as its a reference to a war, but I suspect this character was referring specifically to Japan's imperialism.

When Two Kings Meet

Japan's ugly history comes back to bite in the form of a calamitous being threatening the destruction of Japan. The being, referred to as a King of Monsters, promises death and destruction at a massive scale. The young cast, and a senior officer of the defense force, work together to fight off the monster, despite the bureaucrats' efforts to inhibit them.

Use of bureaucracy in both titles.

Taizo Tachibana, Yuri's (the protagonist) father, was an admiral in the Japanese Self-Defense Force, and worked within the Ministry of Defense. The MoD denies Godzilla's existence and power throughout the story. The Higher-Ups within JJK work from within HQ and attempt to inhibit Gojo from returning (among a plethora of other things). Both stories' bureaucrats prioritize the self-preservation of their power and control over the lives of Japan citizens.

For more lengthy analysis on Japan's bureaucracy, and Gege's use of it within JJK, see part 2. JJK and All-Out Attack do not deal with the same real-world history, but both do feature in-universe historical figures being resurrected in the present. Those historical figures, Godzilla and Sukuna, then rampage and require a team of monsters to defeat them. All the while, both stories feature a bureaucratic system that act against the best interests of the Japanese public.

From here on out, the next three parts (3a, 3b, and 3c), will be dedicated to isolated analyses of Maki, Gojo, and Sukuna respectively. The analyses will focus on examining each character's anti-bureaucratic acts within the context of the story. In part 4, I will finally discuss the significance of Sukuna vs Higuruma within the context of my argument.

Had a four hour car drive yesterday and thought about what monster hunter weapons each of the The Quarry characters would use so please enjoy this analysis of monster hunter weapon type mains and playstyles that literally no one asked for. I'm basing this off of World: Iceborne since it's the game I'm most familiar with.

Jacob:

This himbo would be a greatsword main. It's big, it's clumsy, but it packs one hell of a punch when it lands. Big sword means big damage numbers. He wouldn't use any of the side or rising slashes. It would be true charged slash or nothing, like god intended. He'd forget to block more often than not and get knocked back quite a bit, but he'd land enough hits to do a formidable amount of damage. Also, Kaitlyn would yell at him enough that he'd go after the tail like he's supposed to lol.

Kaitlyn:

My girl would be a light bowgun main. Heavy bowgun would be too slow for her tastes, and while it does do more damage, I could see her giving that up for more maneuverability. I could also see her doing a hardcore sticky build. It'd be five minutes into the fight and she's already got the monster stunned and on the ground. She never misses her shots and would be the one to take the time to tenderize monster parts before absolutely blasting them to shreds.

Depending on the monster, I could also see her doing a DPS spread build. She'd pile on the short-range damage mods and get up close and personal, hitting all the weak spots like the shotgun-wielding queen we know she is.

Any team she'd be on would be formidable, especially if she had someone like Dylan drawing aggro for her.

Dylan:

Our boy has two mains. The first is a defensive lance build. He's up front in center, hiding behind that shield while drawing aggro and taking hits like a champ. He's not a DPS, he's a full on tank, with max defense, fortitude, shield, and knockback jewels. And he'd be making jokes about stabbing the monster with his pointy stick the entire time, if you know what I mean.

His second main would be hunting horn. As much as the boy loves music, how could he not? Smacking monsters around while composing sick beats and buffing your teammates all at once is the perfect combo. He'd be a support-class king. I could see him running wide-range with speed-eating as well to serve as a healer.

Ryan:

Ryan's a bit harder to pin down since he can be equal parts aggressive/defensive depending on the choices you make in the game, so he'd probably choose a weapon that had a shield. More than likely it'd either be sword and shield or gunlance. He wouldn't bother with layering on the defense though, only elemental resistances. He'd boost his attack to get right in the thick of it, but would have a shield to fall back on if things got hairy.

His playstyle would be dependent on who his teammates were. If he's with Dylan, he's probably running sword and shield, because otherwise Dylan would be making jokes about him "blowing his load" in the monster with a gunlance.

If he's running sword and shield, I could see him running wide-range, especially if he's with both Kaitlyn and Dylan and Dylan was running lance.

Laura:

Girlboss is in it to win it. She's DPS through and through. Shields are for people who don't know how to dodge. If the monster is hitting you hard you hit it back harder.

When she's with other people she's maining switchaxe and is min-maxing the hell out of her build. She's got max attack, max expert, max challenger, and is eating for attack. She's zero sum discharging her load right into the monster's weak point and is loaded up on destroyer jewels to break every part on that motherfucker. If you can kill a monster fast, Laura can kill it faster. If it takes longer to set up a trap than it does to kill the monster, she's killing it.

When Laura is solo she's running a min/max heroics hammer build, because she fears no god and she fears no monster.

Max:

Max is a dual blades user. Easy to learn, easy to use, with the added bonus of Naruto running. He'd be more of a healer support build, running wide-range and buffing Laura so she could focus on damage. He'd make sure all the parts were tenderized for her. But he'd also always try to mount the monster (and of course make jokes about it), much to Laura's chagrine.

Abi:

Insect glaive all the way. She's up and away from the fight playing The Floor Is Lava. She'd load up on defense and elemental resistances and max her stamina regen to let her keep going as long as possible. She's not here to DPS she's here to survive and she'd be good at it. Also, she thinks the kinsect is cute.

Her and Nick/Emma would make a good team since most of the time she'd be out of the way of their attacks and wouldn't get hit. Abi would always want to capture monsters because she would feel bad killing them.

Nick:

Nick's another hard one to pin down, but I could see him maining either longsword or heavy bowgun. Both because they would make him look cool lol.

For longsword he would focus on using helmbreaker as much as possible but wouldn't be great at countering. He'd also forget that his spirit attacks hit his teammates and would get in fights with Jacob since they would constantly be interrupting each others combos.

For heavy bowgun, he wouldn't have different builds, he'd probably just have one generic build for everything. He wouldn't use just one type of ammo, he'd switch between everything he could fit in his inventory. He'd prefer wyvernheart over wyvernsnipe.

Emma:

Emma would be a chargeblade main with an equal parts defense/damage build. It's a flashy weapon that still has good defensive capabilities and she would take the time to properly learn how to counterblock and the intricacies of sword and shield mode versus axe mod. I could see her also focusing on utilizing monsters' elemental and status weaknesses against them. She'd be an ideal teammate for the Alatreon fight.

I could also see Emma using bow. She'd be inflicting statuses on monsters left and right. And as a bow user, she'd be a clutch claw queen. She's tenderizing all the parts and is the first to throw the monster into walls as soon as they unenrage.

So Xbox own skylanders now. So if a new game is made (it going to not toys to life) guest characters are going to be include, to increase sales.

So what if the slayer was included to make adults buy the game. Most of you are going to say “but doom is rated 18+”. Yes, but Fortnite have him and he didn’t perform glory kill on anyone. Just don’t have blood and he can added. Also doomslayer is Xbox exclusive because xbox own id’s software.

Bio: one day in Skyland a portal open in the sky. Creatures from god know where attack skyland. The skylanders try the best they could to stop them. But they was much of the creatures. When all hope seem lost, a man with green armor destroys a super gory nest in an half hour. In few hours the creatures ran away from this plane of existence. Leaving the skylanders more them confused. Research from artifact let in the invasion by Hugo reveals that man is call the doomslayer. A mortal turn god. i mused abt the end already over here with the premise that while it's trying to end the world and what have you it's a less natural end to things akin to a glitch/virus/what have you, and that struck me again with this memo

granted after reading a bit on it to refresh my own memory my idea might not hold as much water since the end is supposedly thousands of years old i guess. that said would it be possible that the cyber space existed way before the ancients came to earth, that the technology was created thousands of years ago, and that the end spawned from it? technology is man-made and inorganic and comes with weeds and flaws that can be caused by faulty programming and software, hardware aging and decaying, or y'know a fucking cosmic ray because why not. and if we're dealing with something as robust as the cyber space that adds to itself from way beyond its initially assumed scope, something's bound to go wrong eventually. a wrong bit's gonna get flipped and break things in ways no one could've foreseen.

am i probably way off with this, and the end is simply supposed to be a big evil world-destroyer for the sake of having a villain? maybe. but i can't emphasize just how fun i find the idea of the end being a program that went apeshit and escaped the cyber space thousands of years ago to terrorize the universe while acting according to the chunk of its code that isn't corrupted and fucked up

The Fallout of the Chaosdiver Chaos

Vismark hated this. He absolutely hated this with all of his being. Being cooped up in tower was frustrating. Being powerless to do anything about it was worse. He just wished he could leave, but not only would he be discouraging his men by seemingly abandoning them, but with the amount of potentially hostile destroyers in the air, he couldn’t afford to leave their small sector of airspace anyways.

It all began the morning of 9/8/2024. Vismark was starting to arrange a flight out of the world when he was informed of a weird energy signature. Before he could really figure out what it was though, suddenly a barricade of Chaosdivers formed around the outpost. Fortunately, nobody was outside during this time, but it was still concerning, especially with the turrets set on the tower. Vismark knew it could withstand any attacks made against it, but it was still a worrying sight to see.

Fortunately, this barricade, which was made by the Chaosdiver council themselves, was simply there to investigate and ensure that they were alright to continue interacting with the rest of the Chaosdivers. Vismark still didn’t understand why that was the case, they were just fine before. From what little reports he managed to gather, it had something to do with a Terminid parasite and a horse taken too far? Yeah, he had no idea. What he did know was that he had to wait until a diplomat came over to discuss with him and see if he could get the outpost settled. So Vismark waited… and waited… and waited…

That diplomat never came. Instead, that evening, the planet erupted into chaos. Dozens of destroyers flew in from orbit and starting shooting down blank shells and diver pods, people took to the streets in riots, and overall, it became a scary place. Admittedly, it was slightly amusing at first, but eventually Vismark saw the danger of these riots and ordered a silent lockdown. All ships were to either stay in orbit or land on the landing pads and be chained down, the doors were to remain shut, defenses were to remain high, and nobody was allowed to enter or exit the facility until the mess calmed down.

Vismark didn’t really know what was going on, even now after things had cooled down a bit. There might have been an official who was corrupt, or maybe he just screwed up big time and the Chaosdivers were riled up over something small. Either way, he was pretty sure that this mess wouldn’t end cleanly, and he didn’t know what else to do.

Now, things had calmed down a bit. The active riots had stopped, and “justice” had been served, but the fallout was still lingering. He had no idea how many casualties the riots had produced, no idea if Rouge 5 was still safe to do business in. Worst case scenario, he had arrangements with the ODSTs and the Outer Rim Consortium, he could abandon the planet if he wanted to… but he didn’t. Was this why rebellions against Super Earth failed? Was this why tyranny was still allowed to exist?

For now, all he could do was wait, trapped in his own outpost, waiting for a sign that things will be all right from here on out.

{Hey! This was just a post regarding the recent... chaos that happened on the Chaosdiver server. First the RP section was heavily modified and made more strict, which could have endangered my presence there. However, these changes were then abandoned halfway through when the server rioted over the mods making a stupid decision. I'm not going to elaborate here on what happened. It was just bad all around, and I don't want to give people more harassment then they've already received. Now the strict RP changes could be back, but without the mastermind behind them who was more understanding of the RP community. That being said, its looking like its going to work out after all.

Normally, regarding Chaosdiver posts, I usually post a link to the discord server. However, as of right now, I don't feel comfortable posting it until I'm sure the server has calmed down, sorting its mods, getting its population under control, and withstanding whatever vindictive discord reporting might happen. Worst case scenario, I leave said server. I'm invited to the private ODST and a private server that contains the members of ORC, so I should be able to continue "supporting" them despite what might happen. Hopefully, it won't come to that}

Kiev’s forces have reportedly used Marder infantry fighting vehicles their cross-border incursion

German-made heavy armor pieces are rolling through the fields of Russia’s Kursk Region again, some 80 years since one of the biggest battles of WWII in the same area, Bild wrote on Thursday, reporting on Kiev’s cross-border incursion. The German tabloid, citing videos posted online, said that several Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) have been spotted among the equipment used by the Ukrainian military in its offensive, launched early on Tuesday. The media outlet pointed to footage published by the Russian Defense Ministry, which shows IFVs being hit with Russian kamikaze drones. Thursday morning, the ministry published a clip showing the destruction of at least three Marder vehicles by Russian Lancet drones, among other strikes on Ukrainian military equipment. The armor pieces were hit while moving along dirt roads and through a wooded area. Posting on X (formerly, Twitter), Bild journalist Julian Ropcke said all three Marders “fell victim” to Russian strikes just a few kilometers from the border – as the Ukrainian forces had sent them into battle “without adequate air defense.”

The news of German-made weapons being used in an attack on Russia’s internationally recognized Russian territory has prompted a mixed reaction in Germany. The head of the German parliament’s Defense Committee, Markus Faber, stated he had no issues with the development. Any weapons handed over to Kiev cease to be German and become Ukrainian ones, he told the Funke Media Group. He also described the territory of both Ukraine and Russia as a “war zone.”

Chancellor Olaf Scholz should call the Ukrainian leadership and “demand that no German weapons be used in [attacks] on the Russian territory,” she added. Back in 1943, Soviet troops clashed with the Nazi forces on the fields of the Kursk Region in what has since become known as the Battle of Kursk. It was one of the deadliest episodes of World War II and one of the largest tank battles in history. Nazi Germany sought to achieve victory at the time by fielding its then brand-new armor pieces, including Panther and Tiger tanks as well as Ferdinand tank destroyers. The battle involved thousands of tanks on both sides, ended with the Soviet forces inflicting a defeat on the Nazi troops.

Russian forces destroy Ukrainian armor in Kursk Region – MOD (VIDEO)

Up to 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been involved in the incursion into Kursk Region this week, supported by armor that included several US-made Stryker armored fighting vehicles, as well as artillery and drones, the Russian Defense Ministry has said. Kiev’s forces have lost some 660 soldiers and 82 armor pieces, including eight tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers and six infantry fighting vehicles since the start of their operation, according to estimates provided by the ministry on Thursday. Moscow’s forces have stalled the Ukrainian troops’ offensive and prevented them from getting deeper into the region, the Russian authorities said.
