Headcanons: Jordan Li with Streamer!fem reader

A/N: This character has a chokehold on me just like they do everyone else. Also, I don't claim to own this character nor the gifs, I just had this idea for a scenario.

Notes: 1116 word count and some swearing.

You never thought that your stream you started out of boredom during high school would take off but by the time you got to GOD U, you were always on the Top Ten Streamer list on V-TV.

 Your content ranged from wholesome gaming, collabs with other creators, and commentary on popular videos or media. Emma, Marie, Luke, Cate, and Andre had all been featured at least once but your oldest friend, Jordan, was hesitant.

“I don’t want a bunch of weird strangers knowing who I am,” they muttered when you tried to convince them to join for the millionth time.

You pouted, “Jordan, that’s what the mods are for. Anyway, it’s a risk you’re going to have to take as a supe anyway, right?” They were reluctant to admit you were right and after bribing them with Olive Garden, grumpily sat next to you as you set up your stream the following night.

“Try to look a little more enthusiastic,” you teased as you adjusted your cameras to frame you and Jordan well.

“It’s hard when I’m still hungover,” they griped. Despite their mood, you couldn’t help but feel giddy as you clicked on the big green “start” button and sat down in your custom gaming chair.

“Hi everyone, welcome back! Today, I have a very special guest who taught me almost everything I know about gaming,” you chirped, pulling Jordan’s chair closer to your side. “This is Jordan.”

Almost immediately, your chat started going crazy. “Who’s the hot guy?” “That’s your friend???!!!” “I knew I should’ve tried harder to get into GOD U.”

Jordan’s eyes widened at the response, and they sat up a little straighter and waved. “Hi everyone and yes, I am Y/N’s friend, and I did teach her everything she knows about gaming.” You elbowed them in the side playfully. “Not true!” “Before me, she didn’t even know what T-posing was.”

You playfully smacked their arm and shook your head. “Shut up. Anyway, tonight I am wearing my cozy sweatshirt because it is spooky season and to celebrate, we will be playing Outlast and Jordan is here in case I faint from fear and emotional support.” Jordan snorted, “You’re playing Outlast when you couldn’t finish FNAF?”

The night was filled with screaming and panic from you while Jordan mostly laughed at your pain and tried to give directions.

“Go left! No, the other left!” They shouted. “I panicked!”

Throughout the gameplay, the chat was bombarding you both with comments and donations. “Cherrypickednightmare gifted 50 subs and said, ‘Please give Jordan their cut’,” Jordan read. “Thank you for the subs! What cut? This is my channel, Jordan is a guest. They are here as a friend,” you said without taking your eyes off the screen.

“I don’t think you did this well with anyone else on the channel, I think I should be compensated,” Jordan teased. “Your pay is my friendship and potentially more Olive Garden.”

With that statement, your subscribers sent more “gifts” and subs as you continued playing. “Mikeysleftfoot said, ‘For the Olive Garden fund,” Jordan chuckled. “Yes, chat, for only 9.99 a day, you can provide Jordan with a week’s worth of Olive Garden even though they only eat the breadsticks, but someone needs to order something so no one gets kicked out,” you teased in a fake serious voice.

Jordan seemed to have too much fun interacting with chat while you were avoiding being attacked by zombified asylum patients. “WHY DID I COME INTO THIS HOSPITAL ALONE WITHOUT A WEAPON? I’M A JOURNALIST AND NO ONE KNOWS I’M HERE!” you screamed while frantically trying to get your character to run away from the giant patient. “Y/N, Viledeeds87 wants to know how we met.”

“NOT NOW!” But you died in-game seconds later and huffed. “We met in kindergarten,” you stated. “No, preschool.” You burst out laughing, “My bad, I lumped the years together. We were on the playground, I got a splinter from the swing set, and Jordan walked me to the nurse’s office.” “I’ve been looking out for her clumsy ass since.”

After that night, your friendship with Jordan and Jordan themselves became a hot topic on your channel. “Someone said, ‘Why is Jordan so daddy?’ Relax, chat, or else I will not bring them back on the channel. Their head’s gonna get too big from your thirst,” you joked.  

Surprisingly, Jordan loved the attention, especially the reactions they could get out of you because of the attention.

“I should write up a contract to make sure I’m getting my proper royalties,” Jordan suggested mindlessly during a study session.  “You know I have a team of lawyers, right?” “Scared they’ll agree with me?”

But when your merch collection came out, Jordan was the first to model and post about it on social media. Their appearances on the channel were regular and fueled more engagement on your streams, which your management loved.

Your other friends offline couldn’t help but comment on it either, with Andre only being a little jealous of the attention Jordan got while Luke and Cate couldn’t be more supportive.

Emma and Marie proudly shipped you and Jordan. “You’re so cute together, I mean, it’s giving frenemies and will-they-won’t-they at the same time!” Emma insisted. “No way, there’s nothing there. Jordan’s my best friend and it makes sense that we would have decent chemistry.” “I may not be super experienced in this area but, they do not look at you like a friend, on stream and off,” Marie commented.

You thought your younger friends were nuts. If there was anything between you and Jordan, you would be the first to know. Sure, you occasionally got butterflies around them when they smiled in either form and you regularly bought things or sent them pictures of something that reminded you of them. But all best friends do that, right?

Then one night, when you should’ve been studying, you were scrolling on social media when you stumbled across fan compilation videos of you and Jordan. While a lot of them were funny, a few of them were on the shipping side.

For the first time, you saw how Jordan’s big brown eyes softened when you weren’t looking at them and how they were so quick to pull you in their lap when you tried to storm off in a rage-quit. Was this how they always acted around you?

As you raked your brain, you began to remember several moments where Jordan acted a little more than a friend to you but at the time, you brushed it off. Did this mean they liked you? Did this mean it was finally okay for you to admit how you feel?

How are people even getting "this person is a puritan prude" out of you being confused by minecraft sex mods?? Are they assuming you hate all sex in video games?? All porn??? What leaps in logic are happening here

The thing about vanilla Minecraft is that

player-player interaction mechanics and player-NPC interaction mechanics are barely existent

the graphics are.

Now, Minecraft is a game that is very, very good at being the thing it is (an open world survival/exploration centered building sim and/or creative sandbox game). The best, in fact. It is good because the devs know what Minecraft excels at and enhance and sharpen these things.

Minecraft does not excel at things that it isn't. It sucks total ass at those things, in fact. The combat system in Minecraft is very simple, basic and un-engaging.

A large portion of the modding community devotes itself not so much to improving Minecraft, but to making Minecraft more like other games. There are a wealth of mods that do things like add a ton of repetitive collectible items, add weapons and combat mechanics, or add tons of monsters that don't really offer anything new.

Of course, minecraft not having these things makes it obvious why people make mods to add them, but I find a lot of mods irrationally annoying, because they elevate Minecraft to the level of "fair" at things that tons of other games excel at. If you want gameplay that is combat-centered with 1000 weapons and upgrades to them, play a combat-centered game!

I have tried playing on servers that add things like more NPC interactions and more items to the gameplay, but they invariably suck, because they turn Minecraft into a tedious Sisyphean hell of trotting back and forth along railroaded sidequests after MacGuffins that only exist to restrict your progress, like every other tedious videogame on earth.

I pretty much exclusively play on anarchy servers, because they are really the only multiplayer servers that preserve the core mechanics and principles of Minecraft—infinite freedom to explore and alter the world, with no consequences for your actions except the reactions and/or retaliations of other players.

It's no surprise that sex mods exist for Minecraft—the principle that if it exists, a Minecraft mod for it also exists is only slightly less reliable than Rule 34—but it's a curious concept, since the vanilla gameplay of Minecraft is so far away from anything that would support Sex in Minecraft that they would have to either make very extensive changes to the basic gameplay and graphics of Minecraft, or otherwise be so abstract and bad that they're more like a postmodern commentary on genre in videogames than anything else.

I guess they must have picked up on the fact that I am a prude, not about sex, but about Minecraft mods.

Here are screenshots of what we could find on the official American website on May 27th, 2017, between an invitation to watch the Announce Trailer, some news, and a link to pre-order Far Cry 5 (which, at the time, was scheduled to come out on February 27th, 2018). For the first time, there was information about the game:

What I mostly wanted to “Learn More” about were the Story & Characters, but there was interesting information on the Game Features page as well.

Commentary

The initial description of the cult said the “coercion, starvation or forced baptisms” were ways for them to “build a following in preparation of The Collapse”. This is still close to what we see in Far Cry 5, but they already had a following when the Reaping began and the open violence started. The vast majority of the cultists we encounter in the game joined because they had faith in Joseph, not because they were forced to. NPC dialog from the E3 2017 demo suggests, like this text, that the early version of Eden’s Gate wouldn’t hesitate to literally beat people into following and believing in the Father long before the Reaping began.

Half-Life 2 just got its 20th anniversary update :O

Fixes, new bonus content such as brand new developer commentary from the original developers, workshop mod support, and even its episodes got incorporated into the base game. You can now play Half-Life 2, Episode 1, and Episode 2 completely seamlessly.

Plus, a whopping two hour long documentary from Secret Tape, the same team who made the HL1 25th Anniversary documentary.

Half-Life 2 is also free until November 18th, so if you still haven't played it for some reason, the time is now.

And, clearly you lack judgment. That camera on his beanie was given to him and set up by Ema Skye. She’s had that camera since before Mr. Wright was disbarred as shown by these pieces of evidence.

I don’t know about this time-traveling bit, but that camera recorded seven years of Mr. Wright’s life and is still going because he doesn’t know how to delete any footage. That’s why it’s been kept for seven years. Ms. Skye was the one that set up the recording so that the viewer could watch each parts of that investigation from seven years ago to the present like watching those DVD’s and bluerays you always watch.

If you don’t believe me, you can ask her and she will go into all the details of how the video recording worked for the Jury and how she was able to set it up the way she did. I’m sure it would make sense of this time-traveling theory you’re bringing up. Personally, I don’t know what you’re meaning by time-travel. I doubt Mr. Wright knows either.

Only really plays it when you guys play together, though

If you're gaming together at their house, Sirris pops in to check in on you guys at some point and pauses to smile at the heartwarming sight (as embarrassing as it may be for Sydney)

Aesthetic matters to them a lot when choosing where to put their base + building it

Went to the End + defeated the dragon just to get the blocks there + the egg for decoration

1.17 (first part of the Caves And Cliffs update) is their favorite yet, all the new blocks and cave biomes make them go aaaaaaaaa

Felt so bad when they had to kill animals for food in the beginning, has a good farm system now though

Definitely keeps mobs you can't tame as pets

Doom 1993 | Why does it play good?

I played the original DOOM when I was 10 or 12 in my Aunt's Dusty Ol' Office with her Dusty Ol' Computer running Windows 95.

I probably shouldn't have been playing it.

But I did, got to plow through hundreds of angry demons through space bases and huge pits of hell. I learned to understand pain-states and got so excited when I finally beat the first chapter in one sitting. Then something strange happened. I kept playing DOOM.

It wasn't like I had a habit of not revisiting my old favorite games. Legend of Zelda, Starcraft, Quake. These games are burned in my brain and I love picking them up for a few days and enjoying a good ol' fashioned adventure, despite that the games themselves havn't aged well with the times. But DOOM is something I would happily actively stream again. Play through again, dive into the dedicated modding community again. Over and over, and I have absolutely no idea WHY it's like this.

Doom is an OLD game. Not exactly old as dirt, old as the land itself, but it celebrated its 30th anniversary not too long ago and it slaps me in the face that this game is nearly as old as I am. And yet it still keeps offering gameplay I'm dedicated to. That I want to keep enjoying and toying with. I've even considered trying to Speedrun the game a few times.

What is it with DOOM that keeps it's fan base positively frothing for new releases? Not just the overhauled, high intensity action that was 2016's DOOM or DOOM Eternal, but even the older fan .wads and, even still. SIGIL from John Romero, and now Legacy of Rust from the folks at Nightdive and a few extremely dedicated veteran .wad makers.

The Ultimate Doom Steam Port is stellar (sans a few strange sound issues) and people are still remixing E1M1 with some very exciting results. I had a variable amount of whiplash when I found out that OCRemix's "Dark Side of Phobos" started back in 2004, 11 years after the game's release.

I don't need to review the game or give a solid opinion. This is more just me absolutely out of my mind because the DOOM Train hasn't stopped, and I don't understand why.

It's no wonder I'm hitting up the full Vanilla release for the next few upcoming streams while making Crass commentary through it.
