Are you ready for the MDZS Big Bang 2025?

That's right, it's happening! We are tentatively scheduled up and ready to embark on an MDZS Big Bang. This will include CQL/The Untamed, and all other MDZS adaptations.

We have an FAQ here [mobile version], and a proposed schedule here [mobile version]. At a glance: sign ups will run March to April, claims April to May, and then posting will be in October!

So, please let us know if you're interested by filling in this form, and if you could give us a quick reblog to signal boost, that would be great!

After a brief discussion period before the new mod team took over, we are pleased to say that we are currently happy with the mod team we have in place! Feel free to familiarise yourselves with the mods. If we feel that we need more support down the line, we will make an announcement!

If you have any questions that aren't answered on our FAQ, our askbox is open, so feel free to get in touch! Our interest check will be running until March 22nd, barring any last minute changes from the mod team, so if you have any hesitancies about joining, let us know!

Concept for Adam and Eve.

Adam is based on Crusaders, so it only made sense to me that Eve bases her style on nuns. In her mind, it’s the best way to make up for her sins and the dooming of humanity.

Ultimately I wanted Adam, Eve, and Lilith to each look like their own people, and be visually distinct from both each other, as well as other humans.

I wanted them to look off, as well, from most of the winners and angels. They’re not fully winners, but they’re also not angels. They’re the first humans, and despite their sin they’re honored in heaven. Their souls are the least complicated, having been made by god, so they stay the most human looking, while other humans change as they’re taken to heaven or hell, reflecting their complicated souls. (And often becoming furries /hj)

That’s the current idea, anyways.

Hi!

The FAQ says writers "must also submit a view-only google document containing at least 2,000 words to be eligible for claims" - is this correct, or should it be 'a maximum of 2000 words'? 2k+ seems quite a big ask for a claims summary?

Thank you for the question! This is not a typo, but also artists will not see these submissions. This is for mods to look at to verify word count only.

Remember, we are currently planning for summary submissions to close on April 30th - this would give people interested in joining the bang a little over 8 weeks (nearly 2 months!) from now to pull together approximately 2k words - which is about how many words you would need to write per month in order to meet the final deadline.

This may seem like a big ask, but what we're really trying to do is reduce the number of last-minute drop-outs, ghosts, or pinch-hitters required. By having at least 2k of something, we hope this reduces the likelihood of someone being unable to meet that 10k mark.

We want to make sure that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, your artist partner has got at least something to work with. These 2,000 words do not have to be polished, finished fic. You could even describe any ideas for art you might have had in this section. In the Schedule, we have outlined what this requirement is, but you rightfully pointed out that this should also go in the FAQ!

For posterity, please find it below!

Writers MUST submit a google doc link (view only!) containing at MINIMUM 2,000 WORDS. These 2,000 words can include:

A draft/plan of the fic in as much detail as you like - from bullet points to fleshed out paragraphs

The summary text and applicable tags you want the artists to get

Any writing that you have done and are comfortable sharing - regardless of whether you think it will end up in the final fic

Any other miscellaneous information pertaining to the idea you are writing for.

Any combination of these will be accepted provided it is at least 2,000 words. This is done to ensure that artists, when paired, will have something to work with, and reduce the likelihood of waiting until late stages to begin producing.

Illustrative example: Summary of the overall plot (300 words), miscellaneous tags AO3 style (150 words, e.g., character list, pairings, tags in detail), elaboration on any particular tags/warnings (150 words), bullet pointed plan of the fic (400 words). This on it’s own adds up to 1,000 words, so you would need to write about 1,000 words on top of this to make sure you’re comfortable writing it. This could all be rambling about scenes you want to include, characterisations you’re going for, nonlinear snippets you wrote out of order, or even a document written entirely in the style of a tumblr post. Just get it as close to that 2,000 word mark as you can!
