Today was the final day of RenFest. It was super fun, I cried at the end, and got and gave lots of hugs. I’m really excited for next year!!

I have the amazing privilege to work at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, and the even bigger privilege to portray one Gian Giacomo Caprotti, better known as Salaì.

Salaì has been a super important historical figure for me for about two years now. His existence allowed me to meet a very close friend, which in turn gave me the ability to fly all the way to Italy to meet her. I even got to eat dinner in his home town of Oreno on one of my final nights there.

The fact that I’m going to be able to spend the next several weeks embodying this person that’s brought me so much joy and opportunity throughout these past two years makes me so happy and so excited. If even one person leaves the grounds and looks him up to learn more about him, I’ll consider my job well done.

I love you Salaì, and I hope to do you justice.

Just wanted to make a quick update that it's looking like my only time to write/have hobbies in general for the foreseeable future will be on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. So, as always, everything goes in the queue for my sanity, but if and when it runs out before next Wednesday... that's why. :')

My legs hurt from my butt to my toes. I can stand/walk for hours on flat ground but MN Ren Fest is … terrain. All the shifts in elevation and the roots and rocks take muscles that don’t get used on flatness. I am so grateful I don’t work tonight!

so. Doods invited me to come along to the Ren Fest this year. if you don't know what that is, it's a medival times festival with like mermaids and a king and queen so i asked Chris and.

ig the virus mutated and there was a spike of 200 cases of the newly mutated Delta virus or something in MN.

so. no Ren Fest

which, is understandable, it's this whole new thing, but it's just really frustrating being so careful and trying n be as safe as possible when there's fucking jackasses who think that God will send them to hell if they put a piece of fabric over their reckless and selfish faces. its so frustrating knowing that there are people walking around t like theyte the only important people and 'they don't need the vaccine' fuck you this isn't about you you piece of shit there are people dying while you're walking around like you're just automatically immune bc of youre useless essentials oils

if God is real then obviously he doesn't want you. bc he obviously made you idiotic enough to not care about other people
