S.O.S. From the Year 2058
NOTE: MESSAGE MAY CONTAIN CORRUPTION
The world ended with a shadow so colossal that it blotted out the sun. It was within the resulting darkness that the creatures fell on us, giants from a strange and terrible planet that we knew nothing of, their star ships the size of our cities.
We called them l̪̣̤̻̗͍͈ͫ̎̅̕͟i̭̟͇̟̯̠̠͖̯̎ͯ̄̔͗̈͟g̖̩̹̼̫̻̓͌̀ͬ͗̊̕h͑ͮ̊̔̉́͢҉͚͔̺t̨̤̙͙̿ͨ̊̒̍̉-̵̨̢̗̤͉̝̼̙̤̄̇è̜̽̂́̏ͪ̀̚a̷̲͌̈̓̂t͓̣͚̏̊̾ͥe̵̛̙̠ͧ̉̄ͭ͊̆̄͊̚͜r̨̙͖̐̐̉̍ͭ̾ͬͫ͋́ͅs̰ͮ̊̄ͯ̾̑͟, their strange alien biochemistry somehow capable of bending and even devouring the light of the Sun.
The nuclear arsenals were opened and unleashed, but they could not stem the relentless tide of black d̨̟͈͉̗̣e̪͍̗͖̠͈s̫͉̝͕̮̹̱t̶̩̘r͉͈̻͈̺̬ͅu̱͖c͏̜t̮͎̫̲̟̭̬i̪̟̳̥̱͍o̬͚̱͠n̯̖̥̻̞͘ that spread over the face of the Earth like a plague, devouring all life with an impenetrable darkness.
The s̀tr͢a̴ng̸e͘nes̡s̵ ̸o҉f thǫs̷e creatures’ biochemistry made them almost invulnerable to our weapons, but ultimately it proved to be our salvation. From the new, impossible elements that spilled from their skin like sweat we were able to derive a novel, unheard of molecule, something that shouldn't have been possible but was anyway.
It was like t̸̨̹̥͎͍̮͕̎̈́̍h̰̜̲̼͕͕̪ͨ̃͐̕͘͠è̫̙͔̳͆ͤͣͮͥͤ̐́ͅi̛̙͇̣̜̹̻̟̜͛͆̍ͣ́̇͢r͈͖̤̠̲̱̬ͨ́̓ ̤̪̦͗͗̄k̓͌̅̚̚͏̰͎͎̭̺̝ͅr̮̞̫̳͕̟͐͑̂̇̈̈̓̑͛͢͡͞ỷ̸̳͔̥̬̫̤̠͚ͬ͌ͥ̀̾̀p̡̢̹͚̝̣̓̓̀̈́̌ͣ͊ͩţ̸̧̳͉̄̈ͨ̋͗͋̓̔o͎̪͇͇̮̱̩͑̓͛̀̈͂͆n̷͍̺̮̩̲̺͖̥ͣͭ̓̇ͅĭ̜̥̳̘̣̀͝͡t̪̩̲̣̟̲̣ͫ̕͟ȩ̗̠̪̦̖͕̙̲͗͑ͥ̑̇͒̉͑̄. It tore through their bodies like weaponized cancer; leapt between them like a virulent disease. Once the molecule was unleashed, thirteen days was all it took for them to turn their ships around and flee back into the black expanse of hateful nothingness from which them came.
When they left, the molecule that we had built degraded and disappeared, impossible again without the close proximity of their physics-altering bodies. And yet, billions of lives had already been lost, a mindless slaughter unprecedented in the annals of human history.
And so the governments of the world u͉͗ͦṇ̶̞̜̂̿ͫ͗ͫͩͫvé̂̇ȉ͍̰͉ͦ͜ḽ̦͍̯͍̞̐̀̀͐ę̦͖͂ͬ̇̋̂ͣ̚ḋ̝̩̙̼̹̲͖̇ ͈̄̿̎́͗́ạ̘͍̞͍̖͍ ͖̠̭ͦ̏͗ͣ͐̔n̴̥̼̦̟̏͛ͭ̾ͯͨ̚e̻̗͇̤̖̪wͥ̍ͮ́͐̋̀ ̻̘̭͚͔͌ͬ̂́p͔͉͓͙̹̻̈̕r̻̪̖͙̼o̝̱̹͖̥̓̋ͫ̚j̵͒ê̤̎ͩ͒͆̾c͛̅͛͂͛͆̐ţ͉͓̱ͫ̐̆̒͒ͫͦ, and set the best minds of the planet to work on it. If the laws of physics could be altered by those alien bodies, then perhaps they were not as rigid as we had once thought them to be. Perhaps we could turn the dial of h̴ͦ̒́ͦ͗ͫͫi͊͑͋s̳̲̠̺̳ͣ͟t̶̮̙͗̌̌̽̄̊o̭r̭y̑͛͐̑̏͡ backwards, back to before the genocide.
We did not succeed in reversing time, but we did win another victory, a smaller victory. We discovered how to send information to the past. It was only 1’s and 0’s at first, but soon it became text. Eventually, after decades of work, we were able to send simple images. But the method was imprecise--we could not be sure of where the information would land, or if we could get it through uncorrupted. With no one to receive the information, we sent it back blind, hoping that it would take root somewhere and spread, and that when the time came for those poor souls fated for destruction, perhaps they would be ready.
We do not know when or where this m͉̳̥̮͚̹̝e̘͓͈͈s̰̻͎͞ṣ͜ͅͅa̻͓͓̳̖͇͞g̛e̗͞ ҉̝͔h̯̪̜̬̬̙a̻̙s͓̜͙͘ ́be̦͞e̘̝ǹ̲ ̱͖̲̠͚̝ș̣̦͓͈̭͓e͓̭̣n̗̝t̶̞̟͉̣͕̻̖, but if there is anyone out there who can read this right now please beware. The hour of mankind’s destruction will occur at 12:37 PM, July 17, 2018. The structure of the molecule to prevent the genocide of billions has been sent along with this text, and I pray that you can read it.
The molecule, known to mankind’s few survivors as Salvation--

Happy anniversary, Megaman Zero! There were supposed to be more MM0 sketches in this, but I didn't realize how many MMX / MMC sketches I still needed to finish (oops) so I had to clean those up first (though I knew if there wasn’t at least one drawing of Cyber Elf X, Saling and Chimi would kick my butt). Next sketchdump will have a little more MM0 content, with the usual miscellaneous Megaman stuff thrown in. I had fun tweaking the Guardians' designs, a few have always bothered me and now I know why people never draw Phantom, his mask is so frustrating. I’ve been using bright colors a lot more lately, it’s super fun coloring with the Archie’s color palettes- they’re so vibrant!
I’ve been wanting to draw that scene from my "A Matter of Caring" fic for a while now, I love that story so much :’) I’m still so proud of it, I encourage you all to give it a read if you’re a fan of Zero and X ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_ You can find me on Ao3 @InconvenientImmortal
(Click for captions, and please full view! Tumblr makes these so blurry :’/// Previous robo sketchdumps: 1, 2, 3, 4)
Some info on my Reploidsona Monarch Monsoon under read more b/c I don't know when the next sketchdump will be and idk if she'll make it into the next one.
Background: Monarch Monsoon was part of the Maverick Hunter's 7th Air Cavalry unit and worked under Storm Eagle, who she respected a great deal. When he defected and joined Sigma, she hesitantly went along with it out of loyalty, but quickly quit when she saw all the horrible things Sigma and his Mavericks were doing. (This sounds really noble, but don't let that fool you- what clued her in was seeing Mavericks trying to destroy her favorite dessert shop).
Monarch’s ambivalent about the Maverick Hunters, but neutrality doesn’t pay the rent, so she works as a mercenary.
Personality: Very Proud, a little vain. Snarky, but affectionate once you get to know her. Flattery is the fastest way to get in her good books. Sounds exactly like a 90 year old grandmother.
Weakness: Close-range combat, sweets.
Abilities / fighting style: Monarch Monsoon was built for speed rather than power, which is why she's a lot less clunky-looking and a lot lighter than earlier generations of Reploids / Maverick Hunters. She’s always got excess energy; her wings have solar panels built into them, so one of her main roles was to provide energy to those who were running low on it during long missions (she’s like a portable battery). Usually acted as a scout for Storm Eagle’s unit and relayed information back to them, like an on-the-field navigator. Excels at long-range combat, but a few well-placed shots would take her down easily.
Other: She thinks Zero is a walking fashion disaster. Acts a little coolly towards X because he killed the superior she was fond of, but ultimately holds no real grudge against him. She’ll never admit it, but over time X has been growing on her (a little).
I came up with her name in the middle of the night a few weeks ago, and I thought it was so good, I knew I couldn’t let it go to waste. I know most Maverick names are in a “ ____ (animal)” format, but she’s not technically a Maverick so shhhh. I LOVE MONARCH MONSOON A LOT so I’ll probably wind up slipping more drawings of her into future sketchdumps if I can.
