     Okay, so maybe the fox was asking for it this time. He was smart enough to know that tip-toeing to the side wouldn't be enough to get out of here scot-free. Also, he was technically stealing! But if you asked him, a business that wanted to run you through the wringer with strange plots made to make humor at your expense wasn't exactly a reputable one! And if, say, Sonic were here, he would've totally said to take those things and bail! Who knew where this guy even got the stuff he sells? For all the fox knew, every drop of it could be stolen!

     Assumptions, assumptions. Yes, yes, he was very well aware that it was wrong to judge, he shouldn't jump to such conclusions without proper evidence. Therefore, may the court present piece number one: the sudden nap to INSTANT INSANITY was PLENTY telling of the other's character! No, he knew this guy's type. He knew it verbatim! This freakazoid was out having extended family gatherings with people like Bean the Dynamite! Bombs and all! It was a perfect match!

     Which, in short, meant that he had to get out of here. He was not dealing with any Bean the Dynamite-like on his lonesome. He's not sure what's more frightening, the plausible physical damage in his near future... or the theoretical psychic damage he could accrue.

     Well, no matter which was more upsetting, the former of the two options was what was currently cascading toward him from shelves on high.

     So it was probably a good idea to start sprinting.

     All decorum is thrown out the window. The instant the tall-standing 'store owner' started screaming, twin-tailed turbines kicked up a storm. Upon ignition, they provide more than enough thrust to force a panicked fox and his stolen goods down a right maze of aisles. Yet no matter how the utter peel-out of a start he began with, the falling maelstrom of store-bought goods. From leg warmers to sewing needles, it was becoming blatantly clear that this place sold more than just powder kegs.

     And there the fox would bob and weave, shuck and dive. Briefly take to the air to maneuver around some scattering bone saws, then cut furred rotors for an abrupt drop— ripe tomatoes sail overhead with feather dusters and fishing hooks on their coattails. This is a nightmare. Where is the exit? SOMEONE GET HIM OUT OF HERE.

     "Shut up! Moral compass or not, I'm not going to pay for your goods when all along you just wanted to con me into some cockamamie scheme! Who does that!? You said you were gonna glue my tails together, weirdo!" Said as an industrial-sized jug of glue splattered against the ground beside him. In the same motion, a careening cheetah-print umbrella is caught and swiftly popped open to avoid the sticky substance coating him from tip to tail. Gaia save him.

Do you know the Bugs Bunny philosophy? The way that Bugs is such a trickster god since the people he's up against are often the ones to truly start the engagement, and tend to be hostile? Therefore making his actions harsh but arguably justified? Noise was clearly about to go on and on about how he needs to find another shmuck to walk in, he can't be dealing with Sonic the Hedgehog and start some crazy event where the 7 chaos emeralds need to be found in a cohesive rp plot. Which would probably take several months given the-- Anyways.

But Tails did something Noise would do, you see. If the scenario was reversed and Tails was truly a humble vendor of bombs and Noise was the one that meandered in, yeah. He would steal those damn bombs too, despite making plenty of revenue to probably buy out the whole shop if he wanted to. Regardless if Tails threatened him or not. But this isn't that situation.

And Noise was not one to compliment someone for doing something he'd do, in situations such as these.

"OH. OKAY."

Tails. Why is the Noisey who was clearly well intentioned awkwardly talking steps back from you. With that look in its eyes that said thousands of words, but mostly 'may god have mercy on your wretched soul'.

"STEALINGK... FROM A SMALL BUISNESS." Not even small, metaphorically or literally. "MR. HERO MODE. MR MORALLY SUPERIOR. MISTER CLEARLY DID NOT GO THROUGH A HUUUUUUGE DASHBOARD EVENT. I SEE HOW IT IS, WOAG."

The Noisey already casually walked away and is out of the scene, Tails. You're on your own but at least your ankles aren't getting bitten. Yet. The comically large shelf Noise is standing on suddenly is forcibly wobbled by him as it begins to slowly creak forward, the contents on it moreso comical objects rather than bombs. But brother. It's going down. And Noise hops off as Tails tries to route out an escape, ready to formulate a plan to make this a 100 note rp.

Tails why didn't you just pay for the stuff like a polite little man. Rule of comedy dictates that this could've ended peacefully. Maybe.

there are times when he has to ask himself, really get himself thinking–"why am i still spider man? for what am i saving all these people who i've never even met before, taking hits from overzealous, insane villains so nobody else gets hurt even though they don't even thank me in the end... living despite the pain of living, loving despite the risk of having my heart broken–that i would be the reason of a loved one's heartache and suffering?"

there are hardly any times when questions of severe existentialism are ever answered early by the vast universe; the answers are hidden, muddled by the cosmos that keep expanding, never to be known by any living mortal–at least, not directly. miguel's dilemma is such, for truly, what is his life when put into the perspective of the grander scheme of things? what is the meaning behind the life he lives when he cannot even get a moment of rest until he's in the grave? what does he come home for, only to leave that home all over again and come back who knows when?

as he swings home, making minimal noise and conspicuous movements towards the window of your bedroom with miguel–he stares for a moment into the room. he's greeted to the very familiar sight of you sleeping soundly by your side, hopefully not suffering any internal turmoil that would discomfort you in your slumber. as you lay there, with your eyes shut and mouth slightly parted–gently snoring and mumbling in your sleep–with the moonlight illuminating your gentle figure, fragile frame... miguel has the answer to a his pondering answered in that one scene of his evening–of his life.

he mustered the courage to enter the room, quietly crawling in like a thief in the night. he shut the window closed after entering and dissipated his suit–leaving him in a pair of dark color briefs. he got under the covers, hoping not to wake you from your seemingly peaceful sleep, and once he snuggled up next to you... he found himself holding his breath in, as if anticipating that at any moment, the multiverse would part you from him and keep him as he always was before you came: miserable, lonely, and empty–without meaning.

your sleeping face was turned to his side, your eyelashes and lips looking so ravishing to miguel to pepper with kisses–your nose looking so... biteable. he smiled to himself slightly and gently pushed back a small lock of your hair behind your ear, shifting his face to move closer to you, to gaze into your lovely face and just soak in all of you.

"look at you... oh, the things i'd do for you; i can't even begin... to tell you..." he muttered, having a one-way conversation with your sleeping figure. he brushed the back of his finger against your cheek slowly, savoring the feeling of your warm skin. "i do all these things, all these things nobody thanks me for, to keep you safe–to see you in this very bed, to hold you another night, see you another day and hear your voice speak my name and tell me you love me..." he murmured, moving his face closer to yours–your lips almost touching, his nose poking yours.

he exhaled and smiled gently up at you. "i mean it when i say i'd die for you... i'd kill for you. nobody else matters to me, not anymore, when all i have left is you." he whispered as he leaned his forehead against yours, giving your nose a small kiss, taking your hand in his and gently squeezing it. whether you heard him or not didn't matter, miguel had finally gotten his answer from the universe somehow–and miguel would repeat to you that answer from the universe again and again and again.

you're the only one he has now, the only one who's never left him and has defied what the multiverse has in store for him–you're all that he loved, loves, and will ever love–until the end of time and space itself, you are all that he wants and needs.

it's so funny to me how much maurice is being tormented in each iteration of these shifter aus. their life has not known peace since they left their spawn with the pines family

Listen, when I breathed life into Maurice, all I had planned for them was 'shapeshifter parent who did not interact with Stan at all growing up. A complete non-entity in his life until he's older, then only popping in occasionally. Why? they hate children.' I didnt even have their name picked out until i wrote their intro scene i cared that little for them. All i had was 'something that starts with an M. They seem like an M kinda guy', so i just sat there going "mmmmmmm" until i went with Maurice. I had zero plans for them to pop up a lot, as i just needed Stan to have come from somewhere and act like a sort of sneak peek into regular shifter lifestyles.

That was all i had on them. Then i realized I had to create the kind of person who would be OK with stalking a child, and also preferred a quiet life so they didn't get involved with Stan's shenanigan crimes for thrill or profit. Someone who could get Stan started in a life of crime and introduce him to people, then back off until they stumbled on Shifty for a reason i'll think on later.

This all added up until i had Maurice, a complete isolationist who only interacts with others out of necessity and to prolong the survival of their species. Unfortunatly no Pines is gonna let that kinda guy live in peace. Not when they're technically a parent and someone reliable. So now Maurice has this spawn who cannot live a life that doesnt involve pestering them and making them do things they hate. No Stan is going to leave Maurice alone, so his poor isolationism is now interrupted constantly by Pines shenanigans. The reason for stumbling into Shifty then became 'this guy, despite hating Stan for how much he calls them, also loves Stan the most in their own way (which probably doesnt look like love to most other people) so they noticed he was sad and wanted him to feel better. But also didnt want to do anything to make that happen so went to bother Ford. Shifty became the perfect lure to get their spawn to talk to his base agian'

Now Maurice just suffers in every au. I made them hate interaction then gave them the most interactive spawn. Guy just wanted to ditch their spawn with a family and then not talk to kids for as long as possible, and now they're constantly stressing.

-I don’t think he would be more egotistical but I think he’d be less likely to suffer fools like older people do (you feel me). So while I think he’d be softer with his loved ones (never completely soft of course! Always our grouch!) he could actually be harsher with people he doesn’t like.

-Men entering middle age finally get that first metabolism slow down and fill out a little and I find that SEXY. So I think we’d see a little less of the lankiness and a little more meat on his bones.

-He approaches you in the morning quietly, you’re dazed off looking out a window and sipping your very first cup of coffee. You feel his presence right before his arms coil around your waist and he rests his chin on your shoulder. His long hair is pulled into a messy bun first thing upon waking and he’s not wearing a shirt yet. His tail coils around your ankle in an embrace that has become familiar and beloved over the years. The weight of him is warm and calming, you feel more complete already.

Nuzzling his nose into your neck he groans out “morning, love”. He leaves a few soft kisses on your neck, right where he knows you’ll let out a tiny gasp for him — every time. You can feel him smile against your skin the moment you make that little sound he loves so much. a character I grew to love I'd say Mouse. I think the thing about Mouse is simply that we didn't get to the next part of her story, so she's In Potentia permanently. I also think it was a slight misstep to ground her in a past will-they-won't-they with Marcus, because it puts her into that fatal position of "oh so she's just a love interest after all" vs giving her her own journey, BUT! HOWEVER! She does have her own journey! very much so in fact! it's just that that wig Ben Daniels had in the flashbacks was fucking atrocious and you were maybe more interested in the current-day stuff on first watch but then on second watch she really came into her own for me, especially everything she was doing with Bennett! I wish we'd had more of them doing Stuff together! I wish we could have seen her and Tomas properly bonding!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't necessarily compelled by Marcus and Mouse romantically either, I will say, but her hero-worshipping him and misreading it a certain way (she was a young nun, he was a mysterious exorcist), that I can get behind, especially since present-day Mouse is so Capable and Jaded, we like that journey for her

Anyway... that fucking show. forever in my mind. forever hurting my soul. forever waiting for a third season. forever recommending it because even without a full ending it's so so satisfying!

He should have known better than to take you for granted. He shouldn't have anticipated you'd be fully okay with his line of work and everything that came with it. He should have made more of an effort to be there for you rather than feigning ignorance about how you were feeling, how lonely you had been, how difficult it had been for you to be alone when you needed him most when every pregnancy test would come back negative, or the pregnancy wasn't viable.

Instead, he'd come home to you pretending there was nothing wrong between you two. You gave him the benefit of the doubt time and time again; this was the way he coped coming back from missions, by coming home to the 'perfect' life he had built with you. You don't know what hurt you most, the facade he put on that everything was fine and dandy and there was nothing to be resolved or the cold shoulder he gave you when it was just too much for him to put on a fake smile.

He should have taken it as his cue to drop the act and be the husband he swore to be the second you brought up divorce. And instead, he kept his mouth shut, nodded his head, and gave you a mask of understanding. Once again, being passive about your marriage because too much of his energy had been put into his work. Not only that, but he already knew how much of a failure he had been at being your husband.

He knew you were too good for him since the very beginning. He was too old for you who had just started your life. He was too busy to even begin dating you, much less marry you. He was mentally (nor physically, really) not fully there to provide for you.

So when the divorce was finalized and a year passed, it was no surprise to see you had moved on. You looked happy in the pictures with your new beau, happier than he had ever seen you leading up to the divorce; maybe since after your honeymoon. Your smile was radiant and wide, your skin glowing, and your eyes glinting with newfound hope that this other man would be the husband you really deserved. He knew you deserved better, accepted it, even.

He dwelled on the fact that he failed you at providing you the love and dedication he vowed to you at the altar. The warm feeling of whiskey had become more familiar on his lips than the feeling of your lips.

He doesn’t even process that he killed Pearl at first. like the adrenaline was GOING. AND THEN HE HITS US WITH THE “how did the guy with no friends win?” LIKE???? SCAR.

I’d almost argue it was BETTER that scar had no friends. because he didn’t have to suffer the pain of killing one of his teammates to win. him and pearl were loosely allied at the end sure, but there was no standing alliance between them throughout the game. and that makes it BETTER. because here’s scar, server villain, making everyone hate him or have Some kind of issue with him.

and at the very end he was shown some kindness. the villain of the server was given some kindness right before he was left to wander the server alone.

and like… correct me if I’m wrong but it doesn’t look like scar was actually killed? at the end there? like grian does the /kill command and I’m going to assume that Did still happen, but scar didn’t put it in his video. so I’m choosing to look at that as grian didn’t have the heart to kill him THANKS.

3. Ultimate swap au (Lucretia, Kravitz, and Julia swap places with Magnus, Merle, and Taako)

4. Modern take AU (basically taz unbalanced kind of? they have phones texting no one died etc)

5. Suffering Twins AU (Not a popular or really heard of one, but the alternate universe where lup and taako run the circus that is wonderland - specifically when lucretia is trying to get the bell and the twins recongize her)

Mine are Kujou Sara and Natasha. Sara having the prettiest design in GI imo, and I'm willing to lose a limb in a heartbeat if it meant getting healed by Natasha.

Anyway onto the ACTUAL ask!!! Mmmmmmm I could be SUPER biased with one of these but I actually have a handful: Yae Miko, Kokomi, and Lisa. I don't have any from HSR bc I'm not really involved in the fandom, but those three are my DEFINITES in Genshin, ESPECIALLY Kokomi. I'll explain utc bc this is SO FUCKING LONG (laughed) but do keep in mind that like I haven't played Genshin in a while, haven't kept up with the events minus some spoilers I glanced upon

Unless I've been a blind bat the entire time, you no longer really see Kokomi being discussed en masse. Before she actually APPEARED in game, you had that huge debate going on about whether she was going to end up being the hydro sovereign and that she was going to be this morally-grey strategic leader who believed that the end justified the means. I could have expected too much, but really? No, considering all the shit Hoyo could pull (literally look at Fontaine and their constant loredrops), they could've done SO much better. I think the issue was that Inazuma was so atrociously written, as much as it IS my favourite region, and that unfortunately Mexican waved over to the characters themselves too

She seemed RELEVANT to the lore, with her constellation and the whole thing with Enkanomiya. But her importance was so quickly pushed aside by possibly the worst character butchering I've ever seen for all the buildup they did, and now any other theory relating to her being less than human's been axed bc of Fontaine (all the love to the nation and Neuvi I suppose but I'm really salty about this) and the constant push that she's just a normal human being. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe Hoyo's just pushing the "Kokomi is normal and plain" agenda really hard to surprise us all later and ai wouldn't put it past them but rn? She's essentially faded and forgotten for the most part, being brushed aside as a girl who got pushed to be a leader and is going all Atlas complex (which isn't a bad thing btw, it's just the fact that they hyped her up as the Shogun's most formidable opponent only for it to fall flat) and it's. REALLY sad for me considering how she was actually my MAIN reason why I kept playing for a while

Onto Yae Miko, who faces the same issue that Kokomi does in the sense that due to said atrocious writing, she suffered for it. I think I picked her not only bc of how ofc Inazuma's basically being swept under the rug beyond the events they do bc it was THAT fucking bad, but also due to the Constant Fucking Discussions of character misinterpretation and her queercoding

Thank you twt for all the threads made about Yae Miko's depth in character, but Inazuma itself is fading into obscurity to the point that all the stuff you really see being talked about her is how manipulative she is and how she uses people cuz idk she's evil ig. Do? People? Not know? What 'morally grey' is? Or what 'priorities' are? Maybe she's talked about more than the other two that I've picked, but she isn't talked about in a flattering light for the most part!!!!!! Which is such a shame bc Miko's characterisation is so beautifully complex (at least to me) and all of that's just thrown aside for the sake of "haha flirty evil femme fatale" when there's so much more you could say about her that doesn't describe her as evil and shallow

Lastly is Lisa!!!! My og lesbian!!!!!!! My og loml!!!!!!!!! Who doesn't get talked about a lot unless someone's out ranting about how Lisa was being a creep lol. GOD I have such a gripe against her issue

I get that Mond's also basically fading to obscurity, not bc of bad writing but rather bc of how it was the first ever region you get. Though even when I say that, I do remember seeing someone complain about how Mond sucks bc of exactly that, which......that's the point. One of the complaints wuwa got (sorry wuwa) was the Constant Stream Of Infodumping basically two seconds after you boot up the game. Mond is sparse and simple bc it eased you into the game gently instead of throwing you into hell in the get-go. Unfortunately, it's exactly bc of that that Mond's, again, fading into obscurity too

So this part applies to the other Mond characters too, though the reason why I chose Lisa was bc of the whole debate of whether she's weird or not due to her penchant for flirting with the Traveller. Ofc everyone has their own objective opinion on the matter, and being uncomfortable with her lines is perfectly okay!! This isn't me saying those who feel uncomfy are the ones who are weird or anything, this is me saying that Lisa is so much more beyond what you see initially. She was the Akademiya's genius before she left, got a Vision by just 'what if'ing it one day, has to be lazy or else she can so easily destroy a wide area just cuz idk her feelings went overdrive or something!!!!! Not to mention the whole "she might die soon" thing 🫠🫠🫠

Ofc I also chose these chrs bc like. I LOVE them with my whole heart and would happily kiss them when given the chance, but my opinions run DEEEEPER than just "they're silly to me". Just saying, they should be talked about SO much more than they are rn, as much as I get that we've more than moved on from the regions they're in. Who knowd, maybe Hoyo will actually idk propose to me or smth by making them all relevant the moment I come back on, but I'm not really hopeful atm
