#ml episode scripts
New Airdates for… Tomorrow!
Because of the CRAZY amount of leaks that have been happening lately (like… entire scripts/animatics for episodes kind of leaks), people started a hashtag for Gloob to premiere the episodes early since they have basically already been entirely spoiled by leakers and… it worked!
So tomorrow December 30th, Gloob will be airing S5E19 Pretension and S5E20 Revelation at 7:55 pm Brasilia Standard Time (source).
These are crazy far into the season, and VERY important episodes (especially the latter) so as always TAG YOUR SPOILERS, stay safe, have a happy New Years, and see you tomorrow!

I’m always wondering if it was better or worse for BBT and Young Sheldon creators to say that Sheldon is NOT on the spectrum. But then I see how they treat neurodivergence on shows like Miraculous, and go probably better they keep away from stuff they don’t understand.
I suspect what happened with Sheldon’s character is that they probably modeled him after people they either didn’t know or didn’t care were on the spectrum and by the time everyone was like “hey this guy is obviously autistic” they’d made fun of him too many times to suddenly claim being pioneers of sitcom neurodivergent representation without also having to accept responsibility for their past attitudes towards him
I do, however, think the red itchy sweater episode was fantastic in delivering a message regarding some forms of neurosis
As for ML, it is, at its core, a tell don’t show series. These characters are in love, are close friends, are good at X and Y, are passionate about this and that, hate Z, so on and so forth. We rarely learn about characters and happenstances through actions, to the point where very clear irrefutable events are verbally retconned by random characters and we’re supposed to accept what they say as canon over what we saw. It doesn’t matter if characters are noticeably queer, neurodivergent, good/bad at something, biased about certain people/subjects, struggling with XYZ, etc. If someone doesn’t outright state it, it isn’t canon. This is where the crew loves to claim brownie points for representation but doesn’t actually do anything that might upset the Suits and their bigotry. They have an ethnically diverse character lineup but they’re all perfectly assimilated to white french culture and rarely acknowledge their own supposed heritage. They criticize police abuse but have the victims apologize to their assailants. They have queer characters but their relationships are mostly implied off-screen so they have plausible deniability. They have kids whose parents are clearly mistreating them to the point of leaving lifelong scars and affecting their ability to become functional members of society but it’s obviously not abuse.
I swear there’s some kind of disconnect between the dialogue and the action lines on the script, like no one member of the crew knows what the other is doing and everything is just taped together at the end with no revisions

I should be sleeping but I just figured out how they could have drastically improved the ending of season 5 with very little effort: What if the fight between Bug Noir and Hawkmoth had not taken place in the kitchen, but in Adrien's room?
Even assuming that the rest of the script stays the same, it would have given so many opportunities. Being in Adrien's space, but without him, would give all sorts of thematic implications and make us feel like his absence was a deliberate narrative choice. Destroying it over the course of their fight would be symbolically destroying his prison, and also showing how Gabriel destroys him, at the same time (bonus points for destroying the prison-bar-like windows).
Plus, you could have done so much with the lighting. The Kitchen fight just doesn't look all that good with its black and white tiles and bright white light. This is especially notable because the episode before, with the theatre production, was the prettiest ML episode ever thanks to all the creative lighting.
In Adrien's room, you have more light and shadow and colors anyway, but you could have really played with bathing the scene in an evening glow, in a thunderstorm, or turning it to night slowly. All the people fighting outside could also have seen the light effects coming from there, making the fight in the house much more connected to the outside.
I'm not saying that would have fixed all the issues I had with the finale, let alone all the issues people have had with the finale, but I think it would have been a much stronger move.

Drama That Gave Me Nothing
Tumblr media
Winner: Jade's Fateful Love
I spent a weekend watching all 24 episodes and I can remember literally nothing about this drama. FL swaps places with her sister who was supposed to marry ML. That's it. Wow.
I'm Wrong and I Just Don't Care
Tumblr media
Winner: The Spirealm
Everyone else: "The Spy Realm" Me: "The Spire Alm"
This Drama Wishes It Were Men with Sword
Tumblr media
Winner: Kimi to Yukite Saku: Shinsengumi Seishunroku
Despite being a drama filled to the brim with good looking guys of wildly varying acting ability, this one's not giving us the badgood of Men with Sword. I think MWS's special charm came from a combination of having zero budget, a bunch of new untested actors and a script whose complexity rivaled Game of Thrones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kudos on styling this guy like a Biba ad though
Progress
Tumblr media
Winner: Meet You at the Blossom
Instead of watching a man and a woman roll around on each other in bulky historical costumes, we can now see two men roll around on each other in bulky historical costumes. I call that growth. Seriously though MYATB has been giving us romance, whump, angst, and (for some reason) kites. I love it. Sidebar: I was meh on Li Le when I first saw him in the production stills but damn, the boy delivers!
Crimes Against Wang Duo 2024

the writers shouldn't have been so keen on cashing in on current popular tropes without realizing the limits of their writing abilities. like fine if they wanted to do it but god what i wouldn't give for narrative consistency (in the whole show, not just the timeline fuckery). it probably would have worked better if they kept the specials non-canon but they just had to connect them didn't they?
Yeah it's.
I really feel like ML would benefit a lot from a bit more time in the writers' room.
Like. We have our speculations that they change things on the fly and write it as they go then backdate things.
But even if you believe the dates on the scripts. They're written very quickly, sit in storage for two years while they write newer scripts just as quickly, and never go back to edit them.
They could benefit from going back to the scripts. Like. You look at the dates and at the time they were producing the Queen's Battle Trilogy, they were writing Sole Crusher and Queen Banana. If having Zoé exist and making Chloé awful with no chance of redemption was the angle they knew they wanted to go, they still had time to go back and tweak those earlier episodes to match.
But they didn't. And the show suffers for it.

Story of Kunning Palace E03 (semi-live reaction)
So, it's our heroine's fate to always be crushed on by the spoiled Princess? LOL
There's no way a young woman who climbed all the way to Empress can avoid most of the path to that fate. In most of the webnovels of this type I've read, reaching that type of pinnacle means you have a fate with it, regardless of the ultimate outcome. The best Xue Ning can do is flip the script on circumstances while doing her best to skirt around the thornier aspects of future events.
1st Life: the Princess thinks back to her first encounter with Xue Ning with humiliation, embarrassment and rage
2nd Life: the Princess will think back on their first encounter with pride, happiness and warmth
So far so good. Although I totally get why she'd want to avoid tangling with a temperamental royal who she had a terrible experience with.
...
I really like how this show is shot. Sometimes you never know with cdramas if you'll get a cheap or pedestrian directing style or a dramatic and/or compelling one.
...
The show is still building its foundations and I'm just so eager to jump into the action!
*fight sequence starts 1 minute later* AND HERE WE GO!
Dude is more pissed off by the damaged qin strings than the assassination attempt! HA!
Xue Ning, as hostage: *minimize connections to minimize involvement* Mr. Hostage-taker, sir, I know Xie Wei only through the grapevine...
Xie Wei: MISS XUE NING, PLEASE DON'T SELL OUR CONNECTION SO SHORT! YOUR FATHER AND I ARE GREAT FRIENDS! IN FACT, YOU ARE MY LIFE SAVIOR!
Xue Ning:
...
Tumblr media
Take me instead.
Mmm. Something about the silky oomph with which he said that line combined with his expression... Okay, okay, Zhang Ling He. It took three episodes but you got me: the character of Xie Wei is now officially attractive to me. All he had to do was low key deliver a line that just vibrates with high key threat.
Man, what era are my hormones in? Between finding my mojo over one ML threatening to tear an offensive man's tongue out and fixing my posture when this one is nothing but velvet menace, I need a name for it. I need to know. Should I be worried? Scared? Aroused?
Tumblr media
oh. oh. he's so sexy... okay, now you're just showing off; put the murderous sexiness away
Not this man calling her out, leaving her neither a fissure to hide in or a crumb for modesty!
I... I can't wait until he's incandescently in love with her because I just know, I just know it will be so magnificent I won't know what to do with myself.
Tumblr media
Girl, while you are absolutely right to defend your current relationship with Yan Lin and right to say it is a flirtation that is undeserving of such rude scrutiny... you (and us) know that man speaks no lies. You are trifling with Yan Lin and you would have done him plenty of harm without the benefit of literal 20/20 hindsight.
That being said, I see @dangermousie point: kicking off a relationship trying to gin up, stoke and maintain fear in the other party is an excellent way to receive future comeuppance in the form of watching the woman you desperately love side-eye you as she lavishes protection and support on her other suitors.
...
I like Yan Lin. Not too sorry to say that. Hopefully Life No. 2 keeps him off the rapist track.
It's nice seeing Xue Ning enjoying festivities. The impression I have of her first life self is that while she reveled in being "wild", she likely didn't really allow herself to enjoy being young and with friends, too busy being hungry.
Dear. God. That seamless transition from earnest Yan Lin in Life No. 2 waxing poetic about his first impressions of Xue Ning to embittered Yan Lin in Life No. 1 waxing poetic about his first impressions of Xue Ning with the exact. same. words. Add to it the implied threat of sexual violence in LIfe No. 1!!!
Chills.
*gagging* Did I say I like Yan Lin? Show, it's going to be hard for me to keep that opinion if you keep flashing back to that.
Me during the Life No. 2 Ning x Yan kiss scene:
Tumblr media
I want no part of it.
All right, dude, are you telling me you raped her because she plain text told you she planned to marry someone who could help her achieve her goals?! She didn't sell you out to the devil... Or refuse to shelter either you or wounded family members... but because when you were at your lowest, like the bitch she admittedly is... was..., she told you the truth and cut ties? I mean, that's reason enough not to warn her a coup is coming for her ass in Life No. 1. There's no reason for rape, ever; even if she lit your dog on fire, you can't rape her. Just WTF, guy?!
...
Not that it excuses any of her horrid behavior but I can see how lonely Xue Ning is in what should be her familial home. That cozy scene between her parents and half-sister where in her absence there is only affection and warmth and in her presence, only awkwardness and discomfort.
She lived a childhood in poverty and exile being spoken and looked down upon; returned to her parents' home to find herself being shunted as second-born (in an era where hierarchy matters) and defective instead of receiving proper homecoming. I can see why the attraction of her sole dream, her ultimate goal - becoming Empress - would become all-consuming, especially if such a dream sustained her in exile and fueled her defiance at home.
...
Oh, jesus christ, Yan Lin, don't be an idiot! Don't believe in an enemy soldier during wartime, like...?!
...
So Xue Ning might have accidentally sold Yan Lin out to the devil.
But in her defense, that wasn't her intention. Just to watch him. Like a politics-minded creeper.
Me to Ning as she reads her former coachman cum spy to filth: GET HIM.

Joy of Life episode 7 liveblogging
This is my first watch, so don't tell me secrets ;)
The "I'll kill someone" favor conversation is fantastic.
I'll probably offend more than one person by saying this, but the snappy dialogue in ep 2-7 so far feels quite reminiscent of Aaron Sorkin at his height, when West Wing and Sports Night were really humming, plus his script for The Social Network.
The family playing dominos together lmaooooooo
Aw even Second Madam has come around! She's realized that her loser son just needed a big brother who can look out for him
I realize I'm saying aww a lot but the fam stuff is quite good. (I realized this about me with Blossoms in Adversity - I can be very won over by crap family members forming a sort of found/chosen family. When they didn't ever intend to care about each other & stick together, even if they were related, but events in the story make them realize they LIKE each other and WANT to be family.)
Sister Ruoruo out there in all white when they're trying to be sneaky 😭
The emperor's spy network has that city on LOCKDOWN. He knows when you BREATHE WRONG. (This is what the intelligence agency in the Luoyang drama was supposed to be, no wonder aunt empress was so pissed off. She was robbed.)
Holy shit. They go back to the store and it's empty. ML gets to be clever, which is very satisfying.
ML is doubtful about Crown Prince being the one who tried to kill him. idk what the emperor really thinks, he's too cagey. Is Second Prince the real ominious power pulling the strings? Or is the emperor fucking with everyone from start to finish? 🤔
I am loving how taken aback the noblemen are how ML isn't impressed by them
He doesn't give af and just searches all the ladies 😭😂
ML is bored as hell cause he'll just start reciting the greatest hits. This is gonna be a bloodbath
mystery bangs is the Second Prince right????
lmao every time he flumuxes one of the nobles
aha i KNEW IT. SECOND PRINCE!!!! will they be enemies or besties?
"I guess the sword is still faster" 😂😭
come on guys, make friends!
It's funny that I was just talking about the crap intelligence network in Luoyang, when I'm pretty sure actor who plays 2nd Prince was that guy (I am somewhat face blind but he has a memorable look)
the emperor is getting play by play on all the moves his pawns are playing, this is his NHL playoffs
Classic Sorkin, for reference:

ive seen people in the tags on some reblogs say that thomas isn't writing ML S5 and thts why its better but i thought he wrote every season (and still is writing later seasons)?? or did he stop?
No, for S5, Thomas was still part of the writers room. His role inside the team from S2 to S5 has always been one of a director and lore keeper of the show. During interviews, the writers often joke about how Thomas often ends up with the task to figure out the Lucky Charm to be used in each episode. Still, as part of the Writers Room, Thomas contributed to brainstorm/roleplay sessions each week and wrote episode scripts as well during that time. At least until end of S5.
There were rumors that from S6 and onward, Thomas would focus on other activities inside Zagtoon to expand the brand alongside other projects like the Astro Boy reboot, but from the looks of it, he is still part of the ML writers room and assist to brainstorm sessions with Sébastien, Fred and Mélanie. Is he just around to help start build the new arc or will he also write scripts for the show? We don't know.
But for S5, Thomas did write episodes (Réunion seems to be one of them if I base myself on this question about previous Miraculous Holders they got during this Japan Tours conference back in 2020).
Still, there was a change when they were working on S4-S5. During that same Japan Tours conference, after someone ask them what was Miraculous about, what was their vision, the message they wanted to tell in the show, Sébastien explained that he asked the same very question to Thomas before.
Sébastien : The show message / vision has never has been as clear to us (Thomas, Séb, Fred, Mélanie, Matthieu) than since we began writing S4. [...] Since that day, the series gained in emotions and in clarity on what kind of story we wanted to tell.
And that is probably what has changed. Thomas was able to clarify his vision, both in his own mind and as well as properly communicating it with his co-writers. Which is part of a normal writing process.

First Impression: Love is Panacea
Tumblr media
I have just finished the first 4 episodes of the drama on Youkou. It took me over an hour to get the app to take my money, so this better be worth it.
The drama is project for Literature and Art of the Sichuan province and co-produced by Youkou and CCPTV. Therefore, we can expect a lot of national propaganda in the show, especially since it’s not only a medical drama, but also about international medical aid and foreign aid. Lou Yunxi seems to really take his nickname as Sichuan ambassador seriously! ;-)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cast and Characters (so far)
Zhang Rua Nan as Su Weian: A medical school dropout on a quest to enjoy her life, struggling to make ends meet overseas. She becomes a translator at the local Chinese Medical Aid hospital.
Luo Yunxi as Dr. Gu Yun Zheng: A passionate but cold doctor working in Chinese Medical relief/aid in North Africa. He is Su Weian former teacher. He is initially very skeptical of the FL intentions and abilities.
Wang Yiting as Jiang Muying: Su Weian’s best friend, that travels to see her after a long time.
Li Jiahao as Fang Mingfan (Nian Baiyu!) doctor and assistant and love interest of Jiang Muying. I expect them to be the 3rd couple of the show.
Shawn Wei as Dun Yuncheng: As the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. He had a one-sided crush on the FL and is the half brother of the ML. We haven’t seen them interact in the present yet, but there is a nice build up to an interesting dynamic.
Mild Spoiler
The first arc of the show takes place in a small city in North Africa. Foreign actors in Chinese Dramas are always … something, and this is no difference. The dubbing is also noticeable different compared to the rest. I do, however, like how the show approaches different languages and the language barrier. Dr. Gu only speaks Chinese and English and needs a French translator to communicate with patients and staff – this is where Su Weian comes in.
There is a lot of unintended comedy, because of the way they are depicting the foreign country. While some is just silly – for example the way they are throwing $ bills around as if it was Yuan, other times it relies too much on exoticism. So far, they haven’t crossed the line to straight out racist stereotyping, so that’s something. It does, at times, make a lot of the scenes feel over the top and cringe. However, no matter the country of origin, very rarely do productions get other languages and culture right. China in Western media is often just horrible, so I’m not going to hold it against them. The medical stuff is also mostly fine, it’s not accurate, but it’s not so wrong, that I’m getting angry. So the framing of the show is okay, I think it will get better once they are back in China.
Dr. Gu is a typical character played by Luo Yunxi: Serious, passionate, troubled and very in love with a woman. He excels in this role, as always. His English is also amazing! Su Weian is so far the more interesting character. She is everything I want from a FL: strong, independent, witty and smart. So far, we were only introduced to 3 side characters, that have not shown any depth yet. I’m just really happy to see Tantai Jin and Nian Baiyun reunite on screen – still being master and assistant. I do miss their costume so, because the styling in this show is… different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The cast of the show is so far the best part. While the script relies on a lot of cliché tropes, it’s the dynamic between the actors, that make the show engaging. I’m rather pessimistic about the script so far, it might end somewhere between “Lie to Love” and “Broker”. However, the acting and the chemistry between the leads is significantly better!
One of my favorite things is, how self-aware the show is at times: Be it the supporting cast admitting being the side characters of the leads' life, the subverting of stereotypes of Chinese eating strange things like insects or the nurses watching costume dramas on the Youkou apps and taking dating advice from it. So I’m holding out hope that the overly cliché romantic tropes are an attempt to mislead the audience into thinking this is just a romantic show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m going to talk about the ending of the show next. Please just stop reading here, if you don’t want to get spoiled!
Major Spoiler
On a personal note, I was misdiagnosed with a deadly disease earlier this year. While I’m incredibly lucky, that it turned out a misdiagnosis, for a couple of months I had to live with the belief that I was going to die early and in a lot of pain. So this show hits on a different level and that's why it’s important to me, that the novel ending stays the same. (Spoiler!!)
I’m a bit nervous about it, because not only did they cut out 6 full episodes, they also changed the name to “Healing Lover”. I don’t want the FL to be healed. There is no cure for her disease in real life, so there shouldn’t be one in the drama. Suffering from life altering disease is part of many people's life, that affect not only them, but also their family and friends. It would feel insulting, if they change it. I want to see a drama, in which the cast has to come to terms with the FL death. I want her husband and son to find a way to cope and live on. I want maximum angst. No rainbow at night.

Matt Lanter & James Arnold Taylor at Star Wars Celebration 2023 Day 2
youtube
livestream timestamp: 02:54:50-03:07:10
What is a quote from the show that's less quotable but more haunting, because it was difficult to get out in the moment?
ML: Well, it's not difficult to get out necessarily, but Anakin says something like, and it may not be verbatim, but something like "I realize, more than you know, I realize what it's like, wanting to leave the Order." [note: "I understand, more than you realize, I understand wanting to walk away from the Order." final words to Ahsoka in 5.20 The Wrong Jedi] and that says so much to me. It's something that we never really see Anakin kind of voiced that, he's sort of handcuffed, he felt chained, and he sort of voiced that to Ahsoka. It was such an intimate moment, I love that moment.
JAT: [Obi-wan voice] "It takes strength to resist the Dark Side. Only the weak embrace it." [5.16 The Lawless] That episode was haunting for me. We would get the scripts when we walked into the room. I did not know - spoiler alert! I think at Star Wars Celebration it's okay to say - In Season 5, Satine, I did not know what was gonna happen. So... when Obi-wan says "Satine..." under his breath, those are little ad-libs, those are moments that would just happen because it was heart-wrenching to be there and to be a part of that. Those moments are haunting, because I also think Obi-wan is a true believer. He wanted to see if he could save Darth Maul. He really believed there was a chance, with Ventress or with any of these people that he could maybe, save them. Or any of these people [points to Matt] "You were my brother!"
ML: "I hate you!"
JAT:  "Get over it." [laughs]
full recap:
How have years of experience working with both George Lucas & Dave Filoni changed your perspective on Star Wars?
ML: every time we go in recording, Dave would sit there and talk half an hour at least. It's amazing we got work done. He would sit there and talk about Star Wars, where the character were, and share storytelling which he learnt from George. It's a pretty cool moment
JAT: It was those moments where we were recording an episode, and he's through the glass and he's on the phone, and then he hangs up the phone, he says, "OK George just said..." and I'm like "Wait a second, George George?" "Yes." It was so great to watch that, see what he's taken from the Master and made so wonderfully now with everything he's doing.
ML: I feel like I've learnt a lot about character, from Dave.
JAT: and Sketch! He's a great artist. Dave would sketch characters as we're going, so he would draw little Ahsokas for Ashley and things and give them to her. Now she's gotta hold on to them, they're worth a fortune for now I'm sure.
Fave moment making TCW?
ML: some of my fave are moments like this! we're all on stage, we're celebrating TCW and Star Wars in general, travelling with these guys, be up at the ranch. Truthfully, seeing the joy it brings on people's faces, people come up to us and just talk about - "it was my childhood" or some traumatic event but TCW got them through. Those are the little meaningful things that you don't forget. So along with enjoying it, it brings people thorugh tough times. Those are the really, really cool things to hear.
JAT: I would wholeheartedly agree with what Matt says. It's a life-changing experience to be a part of it. I saw Star Wars- I'm the old man in the room now- I saw Star Wars when I was 7yo in a driving movie theater and it changed my life, never thought one day I get to be old Obi-wan. Now I think I'm one of the only peole, if not the only person here, that was actually in the first Clone Wars. So you see those 20 years, Clone Wars 20 [logos], that's because the micro series of Clone Wars, and I was Obi-wan in that, and that was the first time I got to play Obi-wan.
What are you most proud of as your part of the legacy for these characters, that are just larger than life in the Star Wars galaxy?
ML: I think that in TCW, we got to see Anakin a little different than we did in the films. George and Dave wanted to take the Clone Wars time to sort of expand the character of Anakin and make him a hero that we really really loved, so when he falls, and becomes Darth Vader, I feel like it's that much more sad. It's so much more tragic because you rooted for this guy, you cared for him and it also adds more to his story as to why he turned: the loss of Ahsoka, which is something we didn't know about. All of that, it's been such a joy to just add to that character, making him so much more rich than he already was.
JAT: Yeah, I totally agreed. Hayden and Matt complemented so much on this character of Anakin Skywalker and they bring so much to it. I'm honoured to work with this guy on a regular basis, he's an amazing actor, a wonderful friend. We live near each other, he actually lives on a hill now, just so he can say "I have the high ground! [Matt echoes]" It's not fair!
ML: It's true, "I have the high ground."
JAT: And I would say for me, bringing the sass to Obi-wan Kenobi has been the funnest. Yes, I love that too.
ML: "I hate you!"
JAT:  "Get over it." [laughs]
Anything you want to say to people who has been with TCW/these stories/your characters from the start?
JAT: Thank you all. You all saved Clone Wars. All of you. [stands up] [ML: Yeah, absolutely.] You all saved Clone Wars. We love you. We truly love you and thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
ML: You guys embrace The Clone Wars, and now we've got 7 spectacular seasons of Star Wars content that just adds to the saga, and makes it so much more rich. To be a part of that and feel the love from you guys, the warmth, it's pretty amazing. It's great to celebrate TCW on its anniversary and Star Wars in general. It's amazing to be here.
[host reminiscing SDCC 10th anniversary panel]
JAT: We never thought that it would come back, truly. None of us did. So it was truly fantastic to see that panel. The explosion from everybody there was fantastic.
How emotional was it for you to come back and step into those roles again?
ML: For me, people ask me this all the time, "What was it like to come back?", but I feel like I never really put Anakin down. We were always doing video games, special little projects here and there. And also honestly, Anakin is a part of me. We've been doing now for 15... 17...
JAT: 17 years, because we started 2 years prior to it coming out.
ML: So I mean, I had a Star Wars wedding. Shoutout to my wife, if you're watching back in the States. It's a part of me now, and it's always has been, so I never really let it go. But it was great to come back and be in the booth with these guys, for sure.
JAT: We were in the same studio that we recorded originally, so it was very magical. I remember the last time we did was Ashley and myself, and Dee, and Matt. And Dave goes, "We got it the first time, let's just do it again because it's fun to watch you guys," so we did it like 2 or 3 more times, and that was the energy of it. 'Cause we're really just a family. We truly are a family and we just love being a part of it all.

The part two of the minicomic about Opposite Miraclass is here:
Tumblr media
Part one
Zoom+:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luka (despite he's a delinquent) secretly frequents his biological father Jagged Stone for Violin lessons. But Bob Roth, the stepfather is a horrible and cruel father: He disapproves Luka's behavior. Because of the stepfather, Luka's going make an alliance with Lycène Bleue.
Félix is worried about Adrien who's becoming a bad boy. With his girlfriend Kagami, he remembers the time when Adrien was a kindhearted boy (before the latter's parents' death). Adrien commits a prank crime on Kim with spiders (Opposite of the episode Derision).
Zoé Lee is an actress and André/Anamixandre is her film director/mentor. She has the same personality as Canon Chloé Bourgeois. She sadistically burns a script (of an eventual movie not yet adapted) she judges utterly ridiculous. She destroys it at the sight of the powerless scenarist (the writer, an adult). In the Opposite universe, Zoé is responsible of major part of akumatizations.
Lila Rossi Cerise Lenoir is the opposite of her counterpart: Her actions are reasonable and recquire good intentions. She doesn't ruin reputations of her friends (only Colt Fathom's reputation and especially his financial empire). She's a strongly opponent to the Fathom Company ans she acts like an antiheroin: she infiltrates the Company with the help of Wayhem (who seems unrassured about her plan even if they have the common point to stop Fathom's shenanigans). She sometimes breaks the Law for that. We can ses her and Wayhem in disguise of Iris Verdi (based on Lila's fake identities see: #ml leaks) and William Azzurri.
"Iris" feels like proud of her own clothing meanwhile "William" doesn't like his "moustache" (Tikki and Plagg cameo).
Bonus + Alternate scene: Cerise vs Lycène Bleue
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Left: Cerise kills an Akuma/butterfly with an insecticide
Right (Alternate scene): Lycène Bleue was committing an break-in at Cerise's home when she was busted by the latter girl. At the present, Cerise turns into her Canon counterpart (Lila) and threats the Butterfly villainess with a "gun".

What would the ML show have to do in order to meet your Adrien/Felix/senticousins needs? As in what direction would the story have taken or what conflicts/resolutions would have to appear? Your perfect Felix/Adrien rewrite, so to speak (゜▽゜*)
Hmm, this is a hard question. At this point I'm not expecting anything from the show but I still hope to just see more interactions between them. I don't know how relevant Felix will be after this arc had ended but if he and Amelie could live in the Agreste mansion that'd be nice...
As for a perfect rewrite, I don't have one. I'm not in any way a writer 🥲 I feel like Felix should've been introduced earlier though. Maybe then we'd get to know him more outside of him showing up to progress the plot and then disappearing again for most of the season (and I would like to see more of Amelie too). It just doesn't feel right to introduce such a plot-relevant character at the end of season 3 when you got a 5-season arc.
One of the criticisms I saw of Felix's intro episode is that it feels disconnected from the rest of his arc. Like: "If he cares about Adrien, why is ruining his friendships the first thing he does?" "Why is him trying to kiss Ladybug never brought up again?" "Why does Felix blame Adrien for not standing up to his father if he knows Adrien literally can't?" and so on. And I kinda agree. Maybe one of the reasons is that the show is written to be both serialised and episodic at the same time, maybe writers didn't quite know what to do with him yet and were figuring it out on the fly. But yeah, it's strange.
I think I'd keep some of the interactions between the boys from the initial script, they were cute and give a bit more insight into their relationship, and I'd just get rid of the kiss-punch scene entirely. Also Chat going "bet you don't have a lot of friends" feels uncharacteristically mean of him? (especially because Adrien was also not allowed to make other friends until recently) Even when Chloe almost caused a train crash in Queen Wasp, he was still gentle with her. But here he goes from "Felix's not being himself because he lost his dad" to this really quickly.
And small thing, maybe, but I wish Ladynoir post-Strikeback remembered that Felix already tried to make a deal with Hawkmoth "for a piece of jewelry" before.
Felix being against Adrien's friends... I feel like maybe it would make more sense if it was more about Felix being jealous that he was "replaced" with Adrien's new friends + being generally distrustful of humans? Idk. (I checked the transcript again and it's interesting that Adrien calls the video unforgivable but Felix says he doesn't deserve to be forgiven for putting his cousin in danger. Says nothing about insulting Adrien's friends. Hmm)
One of my friends had an idea that Felix used to think Gabriel was a good or at least decent parent, before he realised he was wrong and he's no better than Colt. That'd be fascinating. Then Felix could be jealous of Adrien because he thinks Adrien "got it better" than him, only to find out the truth and decide he must save Adrien from Gabriel.
But anyway, moving on, I don't have any big complaints about "Gabriel Agreste". I just wish he and Adrien could at least have one interaction here, and Marinette's plot feels kinda pointless. "Risk"-"Strikeback" - again, I don't have much to complain about Felix's plot here, but I still think he didn't need to give Gabriel Adrien's amok back. Maybe if he was planning to do Red Moon almost right after, instead of leaving Adrien to be controlled by Gabriel for a while (weeks maybe?), I'd understand it better. But would Gabriel really refuse a deal without the amok? Eh.
And Emotion... I loved it a lot but I still have gripes with it. One of the things that bothers me the most is that Ladybug confronts both Felix and Gabriel alone. I feel like Chat really should've been there - it's his family, after all. Maybe I just want to see Felix saying all of that about how he cares about Adrien and doesn't want to hurt him while literally fighting him. And I was still kinda on the fence about Feligami being canon when watching "Emotion" but "Pretension" really made me dislike their relationship. Again, if Felix was introduced earlier, perhaps it wouldn't be so rushed. And I would find it more interesting if Kagami wasn't a senti - then Felix would have to change his attitude towards humans first, and there could be more of a slowburn with them slowly gaining respect for each other. Or maybe if I was writing I wouldn't give him a love interest at all and focus more on their friendships. Either way, with Felix and Adrien being the only sentikids, the focus would be more on the Graham de Vanily family.
And I think I talked a lot already about how I hate s5 finale and Adrien being kept in the dark. If we could just... not do all of that, that'd be great. But if I had to keep the finale the same, I would still want to give Adrien some resolution. Let him find out and have a conflict with Felix because Felix genuinely thought Adrien would be happier not knowing (maybe he was even a bit jealous Adrien was so "blissfully" unaware). Maybe let him communicate with Emilie and/or Gabriel through Felix's kwagatama, or let him talk to Amelie and Nathalie about his mom (they both got grief as well). I hope Adrien and Felix get to mend their relationship and be close again, but if it happens too fast (like with Feligami), then that might not be satisfying either. Give it time.
That's all I have to say for now.

The Romance of Tiger and Rose (2020)
Tumblr media
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Historical, Romance, Transmigration
Main Actors: Ding Yu Xi, Zhao Lu Si, Zhu Zi Xin, Sheng Ying Hao
Plot: Single-since-birth screenwriter Xiao Qian gets transmigrated into her screenplay while fixing her script according to her ML's actor's requirements. She ends up as a side character, the 3rd princess Qianqian, who dies soon in the plot, and not wanting to die, begins acting against the plot to survive. The ML, rival prince Han Shuo, is supposed to kill the 3rd princess on their wedding night, but his attempts to poison her fail miserably. The mismatched couple now have to navigate their marriage; as well as dodging her death, Qianqian tries to keep the plot on track while simultaneously changing its events irreparably. 9/10
Relationship: The main couple are absolutely adorable when they're not being idiots and are simply Idiots in Love. I know we hate the miscommuniaction trope, but I will make exceptions when the results are funny, and these two are very funny most of the time so they get a pass. Also, it's difficult to explain transmigration so FL gets a pass for not communicating that LOL. 8.4/10
Characters: The cast are all interesting characters with plausible backstories and motivations, including the antagonists. Most of the characters experience growth in various ways, which is always a plus. The leads' right-hand servants were my favourites, with their not-so-quiet rivalry and sassy commentary to their respective masters. There is one braincell among all the characters and they're all playing hot potato with it the majority of the time. 9/10
Favourite Quote/Scene: Honestly, I don't have one--there were far too many rolling-on-the-floor-wheezing scenes.
Final Thoughts: A great crack drama with a decently done plot and message, cute relationships, and endearing characters. Not too slow at only 24 episodes, and it explored an interesting take on male/female hierarchies, with a major point of contention between the rival cities being the difference in being male-dominated vs female-dominated. 8.9/10
