If, shortly after Desperada, Marinette had learned of Adrien’s huge crush on Ladybug, she probably would have assumed that sometime in the course of Adrien’s 25,913 time loops, he’d fallen in love with her. And while she’d of course be over the moon to know he loved her back, it would also cause her to spiral over the fact that she has absolutely no idea of what led him to fall for her in the first place. (*cue her ranting about her mess of a love life to Chat Noir*)

In friendly defense of 2!Adrien, I’d argue that his reactions to being stressed coming off as more of a 7 rather than a 2 is actually a perfect reflection of the effects of his abuse; it’s fear that drives his non-confrontation tendencies rather his own nature. I think Risk highlighted that a bit in revealing how Adrien does desire confrontation, even if he doesn’t act on it.

(I have always found it interesting to consider the role that trauma/neurodivergency plays in shaping a character’s personality, since it’s one of the flaws I feel most personality assessments can’t really account for.)

I also think Chat’s arguments with LB were more like to be confrontational than avoidant (thinking of the times he’s called her out and his romantic pursuit being the primary indicators), up until she became the Guardian. So then with S4, I’d consider it to be a gradual relationship shift that leads to Chat no longer feeling safe and secure enough in his position to confront her the way he once did, which is why he only tries a bit in Kuro Neko before running, and then doesn’t try at all in Strikeback.

I hope this doesn’t come off as too preachy or anything, just wanted to share my 2¢! Cause either way you slice it, your Adrien has always been brilliantly written and incredibly in-character to me, so you’ve clearly got a rock solid understanding of his character. ❤️

hello november anon and sorry for the delay! thank you so much for the ask and also for going back and looking through my prev posts. you know my teacher heart loves it when you do the readings! 😌 also you're definitely not the only one who believes adrien is a 2 rather than a 7! and while i know there are good arguments for both sides, i'll explain in depth my position on adrien's personality.

part 1 of the ask:

so here are the reasons i think adrien IS an enneagram type 7

adrien's motivation seems like that of a 7 to me: he wants to experience everything and be satisfied in every way he can. if he had a disney princess "i want" song, it would be "i want to go to school, i want to make friends, i want adventure in the great wide somewhere., i want to have fun."

the literal first shot of him in the show (if we use origins as a starting point) is adrien running away. nathalie asks him to please reconsider, he knows what his father wants, and adrien says, "but this is what i want to do." according to the enneagram institute, "sevens do not see themselves as the center of a community or family, but as members of a free-floating band of fellow adventurers whose own enjoyment is enhanced by being with others." going to school and having a new experience with new people is what's going to enhance adrien's enjoyment of life - not being the center of his family unit or the apple of his father's eye.

a 2's motivation would be to be as loved as possible and to make themselves neeed by those they most care about. while adrien definitely shows a desire to be loved and needed, especially by ladybug, i think his primary desire is for experience, and it's this from which all his actions- not just characteristics - are based. take for example his reaction to getting his miraculous vs marinette's (also in origins):

adrien is excited and intrigued and ready to go, as a 7 would be when offered a new experience - and a new way to satisfy their desire to try everything. marinette, as a 1, is quite the opposite: she is being put in a situation where she must do something right or fail, and therefore is stressed tf out. while marinette's motivation to be good/perfect fuels her anxious reaction, adrien's motivation to experience everything and be satisfied fuels his thrilled and slightly reckless reaction. that's why he charges out into battle without listening to all the instructions; his motivation was to escape the restraints of his life and try something new.

in growth, enneagram 7's take on the positive traits of 5's. in stress, they take on the negative traits of 1's. i have seen adrien exhibit these behaviors throughout the show on many occasions!

according to the enneagram institute, "Sevens have fear about their inner world. There are feelings of pain, loss, deprivation, and general anxiety that Sevens would like to stay clear of as much as possible. To cope with these feelings, Sevens keep their minds occupied with exciting possibilities and options— as long as they have something stimulating to anticipate, Sevens feel that they can distract themselves from their fears." therefore, while one can argue that adrien's wealth of knowledge and fun facts is a result of everything gabriel has forced him to learn (mandarin, piano, fencing, medieval horse colors), we can assume he at least was interested in it - and that seeking new knowledge like a 5 kept him from lingering in his sadness.

now as to how adrien moves to the low parts of type 1 during the show: i think the main examples of this are the instances he adopts rigid, critical, and judgemental characteristics, which is potentially unpleasant for anyone who has to be around him.

first up, adrien's akumatized forms: chat blanc, ephemeral, celesticat

i bring up the akumas because, though adrien isn't in his right mind (by hawkmoth's akumas), they are examples of adrien being in extreme stress.

as chat blanc, adrien wants to either right the world or destroy it for being wrong - the critical supreme judgement an unhealthy 1 is capable of. he lashes out when contradicted, and is quite ruthless even to marinette, who he loves, in the name of executing judgement.

as ephemeral, adrien seeks to control time. (however, this is probably the weakest example because adrien was being amok-controlled in this instance and was acting on shadow moth's will, not his own.)

i include celesticat because while this is an example of a "good" akumatization, adrien was still under so much stress that an akumatization was able to take place. yet even while being in "good" stress, adrien still shows characteristics of 1: perfectionism, righteousness, taking control of the situation. he literally turns into a pure white angelic being, an embodiment of perfection. it's what he believes he has to do in order to salvage the situation. it's one of the more healthier moves from 7 to 1 i have seen depicted in media and is entirely plausible concept under the enneagram's theory! this just goes to show the depth and richness of his character.

next, we will discuss adrien's various alter egos:

cat walker

i've said it before and i'll say it again; cat walker is another move from 7 -> 1.

as chat noir, adrien is at the height of his 7-ness. he enjoys the freedom that his miraculous powers and secret identity gives him, and uses it as a means of escape from the regular constraints of his life and obligations. then in kuro neko when ladybug slights him, she denies him the fulfilment and satisfaction in reaching his full potential as chat noir (e.g., being of equal importance on the team as her) that he should be allowed. of course he becomes hurt and angry! she's stepping on his core desire in life.

according to enneagram coach dr. tom lahue (my favorite enneagram guy ((also a 7)), "type 7's typically deal with anger by trying to avoid it or deflect it. that really is the anger type of a 7 - deflective. deflecting things away." that's what i believe cat walker is: a stress reaction, a deflection of his anger with ladybug. he deflects his painful emotions into something he thinks is positive; a new start.

adrien is usually so joyful and optimistic, but this was a huge blow for him. dr. tom says the best way for a 7 to handle this anger is to be "real and genuine" when coming to terms with it, what does adrien do instead? he turns to a new alter ego. he chases the experience of fulfillment, only he does so by adopting a persona who is serious and perfectionist. obviously this was neither what adrien or ladybug needed, and that is because cat walker is a stress reaction who adrien cannot sustain without continued levels of unhealthy self-denial. this is the hardest he has gone to 1 in the show and what it took to snap him out of it was a level of reflection, analysis, and objectivity (that this was an unhealthy behavior) indicative of a type 5 - and which shows his progression to growth.

2. aspik

one can argue that aspik is more proof of adrien being a 2 than a 7 actually, as his motivations for becoming aspik were to woo ladybug. however, the stress response of a type 2 is to move to the negative qualities of type 8, which is to lash out at those who they believe have taken them for granted.

according to the enneagram institute,

"Average to unhealthy Twos seek validation of their worth by obeying their superego’s demands to sacrifice themselves for others. They believe they must always put others first and be loving and unselfish if they want to get love. The problem is that “putting others first” makes Twos secretly angry and resentful, feelings they work hard to repress or deny. Nevertheless, they eventually erupt in various ways, disrupting Twos’ relationships and revealing the inauthenticity of many of the average to unhealthy Two’s claims about themselves and the depth of their “love.”

as aspik, adrien was never resentful of ladybug for taking him for granted or making him feel rejected. as aspik, his goal was never to make himself needed by her. as aspik, he maintained some extreme levels of optimism that ignored the rational conclusion that he should give up for several thousand time loops. as aspik, he was able to let go and displace his hopes in himself to someone else - and run off to his responsibility as chat noir with high spirits (though i'm sure the ladrien kiss helped)

3. griffe noire

this has got to be the most stressful stress reaction i've seen on adrien. and you might say "but wackus he looks nothing like a type 1" and i say "JUST HOLD ON

going back to dr. tom's analysis on type 7's in anger, he says, "7's typically express their anger indirectly, e.g., through sarcasm, like 5's - like 6's sometimes... but they quickly try to move on and reframe into a more positive way." griffe noire, rather than telling jokes and puns to lighten the mood, mocks and ridicules poor toxinelle who has not convinced me she doesn't have a crush on him. 1's actually do the same thing when they are unhealthy; they criticize and blame and nag others for not being up to par, and by directing his anger at his situation onto toxinelle, griffe noire is doing the same.

dr tom goes on to say, "in some cases [7's] might take impulsive actions to try to free themselves from this feeling of being trapped... engaging in frenetic escapism in behaviors or addictions or substances to try to distance themselves from those who are frustrated with them... or their own anger/pain in life." we have seen griffe noire engage in multiple frenetic behaviors while running amok (haha), all of which are clearly attempts to redirect his pain and anger/ keep it from consuming him. for example, griffe noire takes chat noir's cataclysm to the chest as though it's a game. for another, he openly threatens to destroy the entire world with his super cataclysm. and of course, he is constantly abusing his miraculous by over-exerting his powers in a way only adults should. yet all of these destructive behaviors are still adrien's way of escaping his normal life, and his everyday pain. it's almost like his self-destruction is his addiction.

and yet by the end, it took the introspection of type 5 for griffe noire to realize that his behavior was unhealthy. he observed, he listened, he showed an inquisitiveness that brought him back from the brink. and he also upgraded his outfit so if that isn't a type 7 path to growth i don't know what is!

now i know i won't have convinced everybody, so i just want to drop this section from the enneagram institute's text on misidentifying 2's and 7's:

Although both types are gregarious and enjoy being with people, their interpersonal styles are noticeably different. The Two... would like to be the heart and soul of a family or community, the best friend or confidant everyone comes to for attention, advice, and approval. Twos want to be significant to others and on intimate terms with them, although sometimes they go too far, meddling too much and being too solicitous to make sure they are needed.

adrien is not focused on being needed by anybody, not even ladybug (although due to his romantic interest in her, i can understand why people think so). being the heart and soul of the team is not what motivates him; primarily, i think he just likes having all the experiences he wouldn't otherwise get to have without being chat noir.

By contrast... Sevens do not see themselves as the center of a community or family, but as members of a free-floating band of fellow adventurers whose own enjoyment is enhanced by being with others.... Sevens may thus exhibit a certain generosity, although their motives may well have less to do with helping needier friends than with making sure that they themselves have a good time by having others around.

this isn't to say that adrien is just focused on having a "good time." i see that his enjoyment is amplified when he is surrounded by people he loves and cares for. he is motivated to have good experiences, and be fulfilled by trying everything, and becoming close to people and forming loving relationships is just a happy byproduct of that.

now there ARE several caveats to my analysis which provide potential arguments against typing adrien as a 7 - and which i can touch on briefly before i close:

adrien's abuse: i understand that trauma and anxiety can affect personality deeply. i'm not qualified to speak on this, or on how it should or shouldn't affect any personality type. i can only say that i think adrien has acted pretty consistently under stress as far as the show depicts

inconsistent characterization: i think we can all agree that ml won't be winning any awards for its consistency in characterization. which i know sounds contradictory to what i just said about how it depicts adrien under stress, but i think there IS a lot of discrepancy in this show and over the course of 9 years with different teams of writers all trying to execute one person's vision, inconsistencies are bound to happen.

Not sure if anyone else has talked about this but I just had a thought: does the Snake Miraculous have a limit on how far it affects? Just Paris? France? Earth? The entire universe? Cuz imagine if it was just Paris when Adrien/Aspik repeated the loop 25,913 times: the city replayed the same 5 minutes for months while the rest of the world lives on, and people watching from outside like......wtf is going on.

How would that work with people moving across the boundaries during those five minutes?

Wait okay the post I just made about what if Adrien sprained his ankle during Desperada was a joke post, but now I have questions. Why did Gabriel's cataclysm injury persist through all of his second chances, but Adrien didn't need to sleep or eat through all of his?

I'll just explain that away as "since it's a cataclysm, ie something caused by another miraculous, it overrides the snake miraculous power." That's a good enough explanation for me.

I think the writers did a really big disservice to Ladrien when they made their ‘big’ episode Desperada

Like, they gave all four sides awkward scenes and episodes but that one having the conflict of Adrien vs Luka and Aspik having that odd costume I feel really killed a lot of hype for that side of the Lovesquare. Also it being the last time we really see them interacting until Strike Back (two seasons later) meant that we as a fandom couldn’t forget about it.

Idk I just think that if it had been MariChat or Ladynoir we would not be rooting for them either.

Adrien stifled his yawn as he walked through the school doors. He couldn't sleep at all last night, thanks to the unrelenting nightmares of yesterday's akuma attack. Battling Desperada was a harrowing experience - seeing his Lady, seeing Ladybug vanish before his eyes, in his arms... her shocked cries, her wide eyes, her vanishing form, and the devastating number 25,913 played on repeat in his mind. And the worst part about it was that some of those memories were attributed to his lack of focus on the job as he had prioritised flirting with Ladybug. He had been kicking himself since - how could he say he truly loved Ladybug, the one who entrusted him with her life, when he betrayed that trust for his own personal interests?

A yelp broke him out of his mental self-flagellation and drew his gaze to the middle of the courtyard. Some student had tripped and accidentally spilt the hot chocolate in their hand onto Marinette's shirt. Adrien was already making a beeline for Marinette before he even realised he had started to move. The student was apologising profusely to Marinette, who was trying to reassure them that it was an accident, suppressing her winces of pain the scalding beverage had caused. Adrien never ceased to be amazed by Marinette's strength and compassion, and his heart traitorously skipped - it had been doing that since the day at the wax museum.

'Hey, Marinette,' he greeted, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, 'let's get you checked out at the nurse's office.'

'A-A-Adrien! Hi!' she greeted. 'Um, sure! Let's go. See you later, Jean!'

The student responded, the now empty takeaway cup limp in his hand, but Adrien had already started guiding Marinette away to the nurse's office.

'Are you okay?' he asked.

'I'll be fine, Adrien,' she answered in that same placating tone she used to reassure Jean, but he wasn't convinced.

'Well, let's just get you checked out and make sure that's the case, yeah?' he replied, ushering her through the nurse's door.

The nurse assessed Marinette's stomach and proclaimed that she was lucky that she wasn't badly burnt by the hot liquid, but she still required a cold compress on her skin to soothe the sting. After ensuring Marinette was otherwise okay, the nurse said she needed to pop out and get some medical supplies, so she left the two of them to oversee the office while she was gone. Once the door shut behind the woman, Marinette looked down at her shirt with a huff.

'What's wrong?' Adrien asked.

'Oh, nothing,' Marinette said, fiddling with the end of her shirt. 'It's just that I am going to be stuck in a dirty shirt all day today - and it's not even my fault this time!' She let out a small chuckle. 'Oh well. It's nothing I haven't dealt with before.'

Her smile did nothing to alleviate the ache his heart felt. He knew his dear friend was a klutz, but it seemed that adorable trait of hers has made her suffer in ways he never contemplated.

'Let's switch shirts,' he blurted out. Her eyes widened.

'Wh-what?' she squeaked, her cheeks quickly flushing a pretty pink.

Cute.

'Our shirts,' Adrien repeated, 'we should switch them - take my overshirt and use it in place of your t-shirt so you don't have to wear a dirty shirt all day.'

'Oh! That's very sweet of you! A-are you sure?'

'Definitely,' Adrien answered, removing his white overshirt and holding it out to her. She took it but didn't move to put it on, and instead stared at him awkwardly, her cheeks growing steadily redder by the second.

'Oh!' he exclaimed, quickly turning around to give her privacy to change. He ignored how his cheeks burned. 'Right, sorry.'

Aaand... he was standing in front of a mirror. Welp. He looked down at the floor, hoping that would work. He didn't want to be disrespectful, after all.

'Ahh!' she hissed.

'Marinette?'

He accidentally looked up. Marinette had her back to him, in between changing shirts. Any other day and the sight would've made him blush, but not today. He accidentally looked up and saw what he shouldn't have and now he felt sick to his stomach.

'It's alright, Adrien, my skin stung, that's all. ...Adrien?' She turned around and met his gaze in the mirror. 'Adrien? What's wrong?'

She walked over to him, his shirt still in hand, her chest only clad with her bra, but that (unfortunately) wasn't what had gained his attention.

'Adrien, you're crying,' Marinette muttered, tenderly brushing a stray tear away with her thumb. Tender. Caring. Like she always was. His heart lurched.

'25,913,' he said, looking up and meeting her gaze. 'On your back - it says 25,913.'

She gasped, looking into the mirror to see for herself. She gasped again, her free hand covering her mouth in shock.

'I only know one person who could have a number like that,' Adrien continued, voice- well, everything shaking, really. 'And you're her.'

His knees gave way and he collapsed to the ground, Marinette barely catching him with a cry of his name. One of her hands wrapped around his back while the other cradled his face.

'Adrien, what are you saying?'

'You- you've been right here, with me, this entire time, haven't you?' he asked, his eyes desperately searching her face; all the pieces were falling rapidly into place now that he knew. 'I've been searching for you ever since I met you, and you've been here this whole time. I never thought- well, I did with Kwamibuster and you led me astray, but now- now...'

'Adrien, please, you're not making sense,' she implored. 'What's the matter?'

'I lost you. I lost you so many times, and I didn't think I'd lose you both! I- I... I couldn't lose you both, I just couldn't...'

He couldn't breathe. He couldn't see. Tears fell down his face so fast and he couldn't breathe and Marinette's arms wrapped around him and he clung on for dear life. 25,913. He lost her 25,913 times, and... and...

'I lost you, m'lady, and I lost you again and again and again and the Snake doesn't let you lose count- it doesn't, m'lady, it really doesn't and- and now- now you're Marinette, too - sweet, beautiful, kind Marinette - and I lost you both.'

'Adrien...' Marinette began hesitantly, 'why'd you call me that?'

'B-because that's who you are, m'lady,' he answered, burying his head into her neck. He felt her breath hitch.

'Only one person calls me that,' she said softly, 'and that's you, isn't it?'

He just held her tighter. Her skin was warm. She was alive. That awful, terrible number marred her skin and she was alive. Her skin...

He pulled away and picked up the shirt she dropped and draped the button-up around her shoulders.

'The nurse could walk in at any moment - we don't need anyone else figuring out your identity, Princess,' he choked out, holding the shirt in place as she slipped her arms through the sleeves. He started buttoning up the shirt with trembling hands. 'I can't lose you so quickly after finding you, I just can't.'

'And you won't,' she reassured, her steady hands holding his quivering ones. 'It's you and me against the world, remember?'

He couldn't help his quiver of a smile. 'As always, Marinette.'

Oh! So imagine, after Le Papillion, Ladybug and Chat Noir made their appearance, everyone suddenly found a giant "0" tattooed on their backs.

And everytime someone dies (and disappears and whatever) by an akuma and is brought back to life by the cleansing light, that number on their back goes up by (1).

So the more often you've died and have been brought back, the higher the number gets. No one is granted an exception.

Imagine Adrien's surprise when he accidentally gets a glimpse of Marinette's back cos the wind made her flowy top rise or something...

And he sees the number 25,913...

Fun challenge idea: You have to make a 26 episode season of ML using the episodes from all 5 seasons, that goes from beginning to end of the series so far. (Operate under assumption that two parters are just one longer episode, that way it burns less episodes)

An updated List of ML Crack Theories I Am Considering, part 2

The Couffaine family is of Romani descent and trauma due to discrimination is what caused Juleka to develop selective mutism, and to be held back a year, and Luka developed an atlas complex.

In the Paris special, there is a whole scene dedicated to the lesson Plagg says of "Sometimes, destroying IS the best path to build anew. Trust me. It works for me more often than not." Surprisingly, this is never brought up in the special. Could this mean it will be addressed in season 6 and onward? I like to think yes. The possibility Adrienette will also be killed, Adrien learning about Chat Blanc and Ephemeral, Adrien learning The Truth? Their destruction will open up opportunities to create anew.

Gabe and Emilie either never wore Adrien's amoks, or quit wearing them extremely early on. It's a commonly believed in the fandom that the silver ring Gabe wears on his middle finger in season 1-3 is Adrien's amok. This is untrue, even if the fan wiki says that it is. All three rings are plain silver bands. It is a very simple mix up and I don't blame anyone for thinking this way. Gabe is a sentimental man, and would not wear his wedding ring (the object that represents his devotion to Emilie) on his middle finger. The twin rings are first revealed in season 3 episode 24 "Felix." Gabe slips the rings on his and Emelie's left ring fingers, as one does with wedding rings. (It is noteworthy that MLB is notorious for errors, and even after Gabe switches to wearing the amoks, there are still scenes where he's seen wearing the middle finger ring haha)

Gabe didn't nearly murder Felix when he tried to akumatize his amok in "Adrien Agreste." If you look closely, Gabe actually akumatizes the fake copy of Adrien's amok. Gabe DID nearly murder Kagami when he akumatized her amok in "Perfection." It's only by sheer luck that Ladybug and Chat Noir couldn't figure out where her akumatized object was and had to use another method of rescuing her.

Gabe lends the Peacock Miraculous to Colt Fathom knowing it was broken and the possible eventual consequences. Gabe indirectly murdered Colt Fathom.

Sabine has known Marinette is Ladybug since day 1. I've seen this theory floating around for a while, but I think Sabine will ALSO tell Marinette that sometimes keeping some secrets is important, even from your most loved ones. (Tom doesn't know). Maribug will that this as proof that keeping The Truth from Adrien is the right thing to do.

There's going to be some sort of parallel or foil arc between the Amelie/Colt and Emilie/Gabe VS Sabine/Tom and Sabine's obviously fraternal twin sister/whatever she's doing now in London

Sabine "settled" for Tom 20 years prior, and was deeply unhappy with her life in Paris, but has learned to love Tom and the life she now has. (Maybe they had Marinette and it "fixed" their issues). Tom knows something was off, but nothing of the great extent that Sabine felt troubled in their early relationship.

Adrienette adopt a hamster to parallel this. Marinette names the hamster Adrien. It ends poorly.

Luka has known Adrien was Chat Noir since Desperada. (A mutual put it best: Luka having a suspicion so early would fit with the snake being perception/intuition. Snakes called 'light' and forbidden knowledge, and all that >:3c)

Felix acts odd in his debut episode due to the fact he's never had his amok, and there is an adjustment period

The events in Emotion are directly tied to Strikeback, and his memories of a specific trauma in his previous universe. Bonus points if Barkk's final cry that he wants to stay with Ladybug is somehow foreshadowing of this fact.

Mr. Lee is just a pseudonym of Colt Fathom, and Zoe is his bio daughter, and not a sentimonster... yet.

Adrien has Colt-related trauma probably from that time he and Felix swapped places when they were kids. Bonus points if Gabe or even Emilie either knew, blamed Adrien for the trauma, or was somehow otherwise involved.

Emilie was also a horrible parent and didn't change until she was on her deathbed.

They're gonna double and triple down the deaths of Ladynoir, Marichat, and Ladrien.

The Love Square IS endgame BUT it's Felix and whoever was his og Ladybug in a previous Universe.

Rewatching ML Season 3

Chameleon: Adrien pulls away from Lila. He’s very nice to her, but tells her not to lie to him. Akumatised Lila pretends to be mean Adrien. Chat Noir yet again sacrifices himself for Ladybug. Only Marinette and Adrien don’t fall for Lila’s lies. Adrien sit next to Marinette, but the whole class ends up sitting as they used to.

Animaestro: “Ladybug PV” as in-universe film. Marinette, why are you stupid enough to work with Chloé.

Bakerix: —

Backwarder: Alix says Adrien hates lies. Marinette giving Adrien the prescription is hilarious. So is Gabriel having a temporary villain lair in the train toilet.

Reflekdoll: Poor Juleka. So now Gabriel doesn’t care about Nathalie risking her life. Marinette and Adrien look cool as Lady Noire and Mister Bug. I think the episode is a little too critical of Chat Noir.

Weredad: Gabriel Akumatised a baby again. Marichat scenes. Have Adrien got only twenty peas to eat? His meal is ridiculous. Maybe he is forced to diet, because apparently he eats far too much cheese. Chat Noir says loneliness and isolation are the worst.

Silencer: —

Onichan: Calm down, Marinette, Adrien is kind and a little naive, but he isn’t stupid. Gabriel also thinks Adrien’s too naive. Adrien is fed up with girls fighting over him, but is touched by Kagami’s love for him.

Miraculer: Ladybug should listen to Chat Noir’s advice about talking to Chloé. Ladybug is too focused on defeating the villain, ignoring the emotional aspect. Chloé resists the Akuma. Chat Noir is hit with the Cataclism twice. Chloé is Queen Bee again.

Amnesio: Ladybug and Chat Noir lose their memory, detransform in front of each other and quickly assume they’re a couple, and they kiss. Adrien says he wouldn’t hide his identity from his girlfriend.

Desperada: Ladrien scenes. Adrien, where has your hair gone? Ladybug laughs at Adrien/Aspik’s jokes, but not Chat Noir’s. Adrien, what do you mean you’ve been trying for MONTHS.

Startrain: In the train Marinette sleeps on Adrien’s shoulder.

Kwami Buster: Adrien suspects that Marinette is Ladybug. Master Fu says using too many Miraculouses at once makes you mad (I see you, Monarch). Marinette as Mouse is cute, Adrien as Mr Banana is funny. Marinette tricks Chat Noir into believing that she can’t be Ladybug.

Feast: Master Fu’s backstory. Adrien’s worried about Nathalie.

Gamer 2.0: Chat Noir sacrifices himself.

Stormy Weather 2: There’re a lot of scenes from previous episodes. Marinette admits Adrien is her friend now. Nathalie admits she’s fallen in love with Gabriel and started caring about Adrien. Adrien recalls good moments with his father, but one of the memories is based on a lie (his father giving him the scarf). Plagg says Gabriel in the inside is either soft or rotten and while Adrien wants to believe the former, the latter is likely true. The second Christmas episode must have been before this episode.

Ikari Gozen: Kagami seems autistic. Chat Noir seems impressed with Kagami using the Dragon Miraculous. Adrien told Kagami that Marinette is his friend.

Timetagger: Ladybug and Chat Noir are bored and fed up with fighting Mr Pigeon for the 24th time. I wonder if Timetagger comes from their timeline or alternate timeline. Frankly speaking, I don’t treat those revelations about the future seriously. (#NoorooDeservesBetter) What’s more, Chat Noir and Nathalie say that future isn’t set in stone. From Cat Blanc we know that Bunnyx can travel to the future moments that ultimately become an alternate, non-existent timeline, so this is how I see the future that Timetagger comes from.

Party Crusher: Marinette, why are you so stupid. Adrien is surprised to see Marinette, but smiles when she still pretends to be Marino. Gabriel: ‘Joy? What’s going on in my house?!’ 

The Puppeteer 2: It’s both funny and sad that Adrien starts to believe that Marinette doesn’t like him at all. Adrien is just as silly as Marinette. Marinette kisses Adrien. Short Ladrien moment. Adrien tells Marinette that the girl he loves doesn’t like his jokes either.

Cat Blanc: The problem stems from the relationship between Adrien and his father. Adrien still loves him, but Gabriel is ready to use him to achieve his goal. This episode also shows that though Adrien is very nice and as Chat Noir he’s a carefree joker, he also has a lot of pain and anger inside. Additionally, reveals full of angst only weakens our superheroes.

Félix: Félix is fun to watch, he’s smart but emotionally unstable. He must be very lonely. Nathalie: Let’s Akumatise some teenagers.

Ladybug: Adrien says Marinette is fantastic. He stands up for Marinette when Lila accuses her of cheating. Marinette would’ve been Akumatised, if Nathalie hadn’t felt bad. Gabriel tells Nathalie not to use the Peacock Miraculous, but she does it behind his back. The Senti-Ladybug plot is a bit creepy in the context of season 5. Adrien forces Lila to withdraw the accusation.

Heart Hunter: Adrien likes Marinette with her hair down. She leaves him and Kagami alone after they’ve gone for ice-cream. She’s too distracted and makes a mistake that will result in loosing Master Fu. Chat Noir flirts with Ryuko. Chloé is jealous and joins Hawk Moth. Adrien and Kagami kiss.

Miracle Queen: Adrien says he wasn’t ready for the kiss and Kagami is hurt. Ladybug becomes the guardian of the Miraculouses. Will she forget everything in the future too?

Chris Master: I can’t stand that terrible old man in a red suit.

Miraculous World: New York: It looks like fanfiction a bit? Like everything’s a little over the top. The worst thing is Chat Noir accidentally killing a girl, it’s just so unnecessarily traumatic. It looks like this is his punishment for being dishonest with Ladybug. And with him sacrificing himself every other week and having some experience in being hit with the Cataclysm (Miraculer), I think he’d rather Cataclysm himself than an innocent girl.

What fanon takes that make you cringe/irritated/disgusted?

Personally I always find fanon that said Jagged as Marinette's friend as cringe, even more so than marichat "purrrincess". It's because mostly it's being used in salt fic often and even it's not the author always make it as if they're communicating in daily basis to the point Marinette can always call him whenever she need him which I find it weird considering Jagged is an international celebrity and very busy person and while Marinette did make a great impression on him I don't think he would bother to be involved in middle school drama. Especially considering that he choose his career over his own child's pre s4.

I have no problem with Chat calling Marinette "purrincess", it's cute and harmless.

The whole "Uncle Jagged" thing is okay in principle and I like the idea of Marinette talking with him a decent amount. I think there's some grounding to that idea, since he asked her advice on who to get as his back-up guitarist in Desperada for... some reason.

Now the concept that he'd be a better parent than Tom and Sabine are is obviously based on demonizing Tom and Sabine, because they're amazing parents, honestly. Thankfully that take seems to have decreased a lot with the revelation that Jagged ran out on his own children because he felt like he wouldn't be a good parent. And then wrote a song about how his only family is his guitar afterwards which is so messed up it crosses the line into funny again.

And yeah I don't think he'd get hugely involved in middle school drama beyond saying "hey don't bully, it's not cool".

As for fanon that leaves me cringing/irritated/disgusted... look it's gonna be anything that's frequently used in demonizing the ML characters. I'm fine with pretty much anything as long it's not THAT. The intense, incessant demonization of the characters has led me to the point where I'll see say, Alya being made into Lila's lackey so the other characters can insult her and team up to viciously punish her, and then that gives me flashbacks to all the other times I've seen it and seen people celebrate how much she deserves to be demonized and hurt, and then that won't leave my head for hours. I will sometimes check people's AO3 accounts or tumblr accounts to see whether there's any of that in their most recent stuff, to see whether the person is safe to interact with.

Other stuff might occasionally be mildly irritating, but I really don't care that much unless it's something that's to the point of inescapability and horrificness of the insane levels of bashing.
