The best thing about the traffic light trio is that to me
Mei and Redson are stem/ engineers who have learned vast amounts of science, mathematics, and literature. With either one going to grad school.
To me? Mk is a college kid drop out.
Did he do his best? Always. Did he try to go for a stem degree? Mhm. Did he realize that he’d rather work under pigsy until he can save up enough money to go to art school? Yes.
So now most normal conversations are like:
Mei: I really wish i still remembered how to find the acid content using normal filtration devices. I need to check if i need to take my cycle to the shop…
Redson: Have you tried using a small amount and reacting it with a strong base? I have some old beakers lying around if you need them.
Mk:… Have you guys tried to imagine what a new color would look like?
and both Mei and Redson take this question so. so seriously. like. to the point where Mk has to step out of the room because they get into a heated debate about shrimp colors.

As much as I love the design, I kinda hope that MK's "monkey arc" will end with him choosing to "be human".
Not literally becoming a human, but the form he currently has. Because, in a way, his monkey form is what the world wants him to to be. A destructive force of raw power who is there to continue (or surpass) the Monkey King's legacy.
Heck, even the goddess lady carved him as a monkey statue. It is what she wants MK to be.
Maybe that's the reason why MK's transformation looks so painful. It's a struggle between expectations placed on him and who he wants to be.
So if he chooses to be "just MK"... It would be clear message that he has now chosen his own path. That he is his own person.
That he is more than just a monkey kid.

(Do not look at the background it was rushed. Other than that, enjoy the quick drawing of Stephanie and Cass) If Cass’s outfit looks odd it’s because its not a cannon suit. In this au she modeled it after Macaque. (I wanted an excuse to give her a red cape) Thinking of calling this au MonkeyBat (I know im bad at naming things) unsure tho
Also, here’s the link to the LMK specific headcannons. Enjoy:
· Cass is 17 when she first went back to the dimension she was born in
· At this point I wanna say we’re close to the end of season 2 of Lmk so she’s started her training with Macaque
· She learns the basics first- how to summon her staff, shadow travel and she’s working on making shadow clones
· When Batman finds her, it doesn’t take long to tell she has powers, so he assumes she’s a meta
· Cass likes to go back and forth between dimensions
· She disappears randomly to go back home before showing back up at the manor for random periods of time
· No one knows where she goes off to. Trackers don’t work (she always finds them) and not even Batman or Superman can find her
· When asked where she was she either shrugs or says home she will not elaborate
· At first the family was suspicious but as time went on and it became clear she wasn’t doing anything malicious they kinda dropped it and it became usual
· Tim is still trying to figure out where she goes
· Bruce is too but not like Tim is
· At first, she didn’t care to much for her birth dimension and that doesn’t really change much except for the batfam
· She came back because she likes the family. She likes helping them out at night and hanging out with them
· She still refuses to let Bruce adopt her though and tells him he’s like an uncle to her.
· She drops hints that she has a family and but never drops names or locations
· At first the family think she might be talking about Lady Shiva and David Cain, but it doesn’t take long for it to become clear they aren’t who she’s talking about
· The search continues
· The batfam know that Cass can shadow travel, inhuman strength, her durability and that she has a strange shadow staff (that seems to come out of nowhere) but that’s about as much as they know on her powers
· It takes about 2 years for the batfamily to figure out she’s technically from this dimension but it’s not her “home” dimension
· She doesn’t tell them because she sees no harm in keeping it to herself. Besides it’s kinda funny watching them try to figure it out. She also wants to see how long these “world’s best” detectives take to figure it out. It’s not like she’s not dropping subtle hints.
· Stephanie is the first to find out about everything. Duke is second.
· They’re both smug about it once the entire family knows.
· They are also the first two that Cass brought home to meet everyone
· Before everyone else knows, Steph and Duke like messing with the rest of the family by making their own hints/references to Cass’s family
· It frustrates the others more than ever
· The three are having a great time
· As she gets more of her powers, she doesn’t really use them while around the batfam
· She just doesn’t see much reason to. She does however use them to fuck with some of the rouges if she’s on her own
· No one believes them when they say she turned into a slightly demonic shadow being
· Well no one but Tim
· Tim will figure her secrets out. Cass finds it entertaining.
· Cass and Duke get along great.
· Dukes just glad there’s someone else with powers around
· The first time Constantine met her, he showed up, looked at her, turned around, and noped right out of there. He doesn’t explain anything and refuses to be near Cass unless he has to
· Cass finds it hilarious and will sometimes sneak up and scare the man
· When confronted or asked if she knows why Constantine acts like that around her, she just shrugs.
· It’s not her fault he’s scared of the sheer demonic presence she give off
· With the exception of Constantine, she does try to avoid the league and other magic users. To many people who could possible out her by her presence alone and she enjoys being a mystery
#beez artz#LMK x DC#this one was longer than the last#im happy with it#i may do another one but this time with randoms headcannons#this crossover au is so much fun#cass lives to be a mystery#also besides mei and mk#steph is her best friend#so obviously shes the first to know#duke was an accident#didnt mean to tell him so soon#cass brings them to the anti grav arcade and they have the time of their lives#also i know i said she went onto be black bat#but im kinda leaning more towards orphan for this au instead#so orphan it is#im rambling#dc#cassandra cain#stephanie brown#tim drake#bruce wayne#duke thomas#LMK#mk#mei#crossover

forever obsessed with the concept of MK having platonic hanahaki for Wukong
specifically with the disease being born from *perceived* unrequited love
like I generally dislike hanahaki but something about this gives me brain worms
Ngl hanahaki that could one: be involved with platonic love and two: be caused by the victims mere perception are both things that appeal greatly to me.
#It's the fact that MK literally needed to be reassured that Wukong cared about him in 3x11 okay#Which it's like. Of course he does. He ran off for *you*#But MK's like ''oh god he doesn't need me'' and he's getting ROTSQ flashbacks when he ''didn't even try to help'' right#Anyways I really value all forms of relationships so the ''romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough'' thang doesn't appeal to me#Cause I'm like girl where is that line. Idk bro#But a perceived unrequited platonic love? Oh. I'm listening now#Emo that MK would choose to live with this for as long as he could rather than give up his love for Monkey King#Cause that's SO true#''You would still meet your fate trying to protect him?'' Like BRO. ALKJGOWEIHGSOIDGH#aw beans I forgot to put my rambles outside of the tags again. rip.#asks#lmk#lego monkie kid#the light is no mystery#hanahaki

Imagine being a clone and having a horrible identity crisis about who you are, which in itself is a reflection of the crisis the person you're a clone of went through, and you keep desperately trying to change pieces of yourself so you don't look like the other, but it isn't working. And of all the traits about you, the one thing that truly makes you stand out is the fact that you're like a solid foot shorter than the guy you're a clone of.

NAWA / MANAWARI
SUMMARY: Me rambling about semantics and technicality.
Strictly speaking, Manawari is Nawa's name. Same goes for her name as a Chinese citizen, Luo Zijing. But she can be split up to two parts, one for the soul, and one for the body (kind of like humanity and divinity).
The soul's role is to remember the deaths and cycles they have went through, kind of like a record or an archive, while the body is to keep pushing forward with its indomitable human spirit. This is contingency (like a computer antivirus or firewall), because if Nawa was able to remember all her deaths from the past cycles, she would likely turn into someone unrecognizeable or have her mind shattered because humans won't be able to process that many lifetimes. This would not be good for her mission, which is to fulfill a centuries-long wish for rumination (Haliya), compassion/connection (the son), and salvation (Agwa).
Many lives on Nawa's family have been lost to the curse in which their life is sapped away to keep Bakunawa (Agwa) on the moon.
Guanyin, not only out of compassion and empathy, feels obliged to fix this problem since she was the one to lock Shuimu (Agwa's mother) away with the help of SWK in the myths (thus her reason of not involving the LMK gang and SWK). Locking Shuimu away was not the cause of the entire Agwa-Haliya fiasco, but it was one of the things that contributed to the outcome.
All the deaths are there because Nawa is an anomaly. She'll keep dying until she makes a decision that is the least anomalous for fate's standards. Simply put, while MK is tied by destiny, Nawa is unfortunately tied by fate– which is to vanquish Bakunawa.

Y’know how reader is stuck as a monkey in the Yan monkiefam posts, what if reader somehow sneaks off the mountain and stumbles upon macaque. Macaque gets a specific vibe from the mysterious monkey, so he takes it as his own. Monkey reader is trying to communicate to macaque on how to transform back, but either due to lack of understanding or macaque not wanting reader to turn back, reader is still a monkey much to their dismay. Meanwhile Monkiefam is panicking and looking everywhere for reader. This could be seen as a part 3 to the Yan monkiefam posts with an added platonic Yan macaque.
How would you write this scenario? Sorry if it’s long, I started rambling a bit lol. I really like your writing and was hoping you would write something similar to this, I love platonic Yan and you stuff really caters to me. Thank you🩷🩷
Monkiefam: Part Three
Sable Savior
(Part Zero) (Part One) (Part Two) (Part Three)
(💜💜Post one-hundred, huh? Feels good to have gotten here! My ask box has been wiped, and is open again! Character x character requests are now allowed! 💜💜)
Monkeys don’t make for good pets. They’re cute, sure. They’re funny and interesting creatures that are worthy of study. But it’s impossible to raise them properly.
And it’s impossible to obtain one ethically.
Either the mothers are shot to death in the wild and the babies are ripped from their still bodies, or they’re kept in horrid conditions and forcibly bred again and again, having their babies torn from them after only a few days or weeks.
All for a cute pet that will be dumped in a few years. Monkeys don’t stay cute, after all. They grow out of the clothes you put them in, grow out of the training you put them through, grow from cute “living dolls” and into wild, fanged animals all their own.
Once they’ve shed their youthful looks and compliant behaviors, the fate of every ‘pet’ monkey is the same- death.
Whether shot or euthanized or dumped far from home and left to starve, monkeys kept in captivity almost always have unhappy endings.
You could be easily mistaken for one of those unfortunate creatures, stuck in a simian form and curled up near the roots of a looming tree.
Even after two full weeks, the transformation you had accidentally locked yourself into remained strong, showing no signs of faltering.
What at first seemed like a potential method of escape had quickly because the thickest chain in your shackle.
Not only was your newfound ‘family’ thrilled to have you as a cuddly little monkey, they seemed even more intent on coddling you.
MK especially adored having a ‘little sibling’ who couldn’t escape his grip. Day in and day out, every minute spent by your side, tending to your needs as a form of stress relief. Whether it was wrestling you into the bathtub or carving up fruit to spoon-feed you, the hero had quickly become a constant smothering presence. He was a fine caretaker, but you would much prefer that he used those skills on anyone else but yourself.
Just barely had he talked himself out of dressing you up, reasoning that you might find fabric uncomfortable over your fluffy white fur.
Not that he allowed you to remove the silk ribbons that his mentor had tied. Those were staying, and MK made sure of it. Every single time you had managed to squirm one free from your body, he just snatched it off the ground and tied it back on.
And, speaking of his mentor-
For all the doting you faced at the hands of MK, Sun Wukong was twice as bad.
Having been the caretaker for thousands of monkeys through the passing of centuries, it seemed that the Great Sage had a knack for pampering the furry darlings- and that translated quite easily to a human being who had accidentally trapped themselves in the form of a cub.
Already you had spent hours upon hours upon his lap, feeling Wukong’s deft fingers comb through your fur in search of debris to remove. Given that you weren’t allowed outside, he rarely found anything more than dust. Still, his intention was more to bond than it was to clean.
For him, the best part was when you'd get so bored that you'd start stroking his fur in turn, picking through it just to pass the time. Even though your heart wasn't really in the action, he was absolutely thrilled to have you acting like a real monkey in some small manner.
The Great Sage was so thrilled, in fact, that he'd barely allow you even a minute alone. And though some of this was justified by your inability to properly function in this new form, it went far beyond the realm of understandable when the king started taking you to bed with him- all under the guise of 'keeping you safe'. You'd rest all through the night tucked into his arms, listening to a powerful beating within the Monkey King’s muscular chest.
Against MK, you were lulled to sleep by a slow throb, finding some gentleness in the steady and low thrum.
Against Wukong, you were cascaded by the furious white-hot pounding of a heart blessed by power almost beyond comprehension.
You’d be lying if you said neither was at least a little comforting to hear as you drifted to a deep, dreamless sleep.
But here and now, there wasn’t an ounce of warmth to be found.
You had finally managed to slip from the clutches of your ‘family’, mustering just enough motor control to clamber up the couch and jump to a window left cracked, slipping under the peering pane and crawling to ‘freedom’.
On unfamiliar and furry legs you had fled, away from a gilded cage and into the beckoning wilderness. Maybe a part of you now longed for the forests, driving you to escape and run free. Perhaps some newfound simian instinct craved a life free from unchanging scenery and sturdy walls.
So away you went, chirping and chittering and calling out to the rising moon as the night grew darker and darker.
And as you raced into those darkening woods, throwing caution to the wind, you also drew further and further away from any semblance of safety.
It hadn’t taken you even twenty minutes to find trouble on the supposedly idyllic mountain.
And now you were here, stuck in a simian form and curled up near the roots of a looming tree.
Not alone, of course.
A troop of monkeys surrounds your quivering form, hissing and snarling at such a strange outsider. The count is easily fifteen to twenty, each one bearing sharp fangs and hunched down in aggressive stances.
You hunker away, pressed to the cold bark with eyes pointed downwards. You don’t dare move or make a sound.
It’s not enough to save you.
The largest member of the pack snarls for just a second, rearing back with his teeth bared. Before you can even flinch, the simian lurches towards you with a splitting howl, powerful jaws snagging the skin of your neck.
The scent of blood fills the air.
As it shrieks through a mouthful of your flesh, the monkey violently slings you back and forth. It beats at your face and neck, hammering your diminutive form with all the strength it can muster. When you dare to try and strike back it throws you to the ground, beating ruthlessly down on your stomach.
It hollers.
The rest of the pack jump into the fray, beating and biting and tearing at fur. Where one shoves, another pulls. Any spot left untouched by one is promptly assaulted by another. Not an inch of you is spared the violent assault, nor is mercy given in regards to your youthful form.
And right as darkness swells in the corners of your vision, the troop freezes.
A barbed lash of black strikes the alpha across the face, leaving a deep and stinging cut where it lands. He howls and shrieks and falls back, shooting off into the jungle and disappearing from sight. From only the trail of blood left in his wake, his troop follows, fearful but still loyal.
“Someone’s had a rough go of it,” says a voice that would be insufferably smug if it hadn’t just saved you from probable death.
Two cold hands wrap around your prone form, prying you from the ground.
The white of your fur has almost entirely disappeared behind a mixture of wet soil and stinking blood, filthy and pungent. The ribbon around your neck has been torn free and left on the ground, lying in tatters.
“You‘re still a little too young to be without your mother, fuzzball. She’s the one who’s supposed to teach you ‘the ways of the wild’, yeah? Where’d she get off to?”
Macaque cradles you close in one of his arms, lightly stroking the underside of your chin with a sharp nail. His touch is surprisingly gentle, far more than you’d expect for a demon. His voice takes a turn for the soft.
“Nah, that’s not it. If you’re this close to another pack without her, then she’s… not around anymore. You probably weren’t raised by her at all, actually.”
His thumb presses against your ragged silk ribbon, toying with the red fabric.
“Must’ve been dumped by some mortal who got sick of taking care of you, huh? Bastards.”
You chitter desperately for his help, hoping that this one might understand even a word you say. But he only gives you a pitying smile, untying the ribbon from your tail and letting it flutter slowly to the ground.
“You never even learned to speak, furball? They must’ve taken you young. Humans always do. Keep you for a few years and dress you up like babies, then throw you out once you’re not cute enough for them anymore.”
Your vocalizations grow more desperate and wild, becoming outright hysterical.
“I know, I know. Hungry, right? Never learned to forage for yourself, or pick for bugs. C’mon, let’s find something to eat- bet I can scrounge us up some peaches, at least. After all…”
Macaque pulls free his tattered scarf, then holds one end of it against your stomach. You can’t so much as chitter before he wraps you head to toe, swaddling your fluffy form tightly. It’s warm, at least, if a bit restrictive.
“Shouldn’t we outcasts stick together?”
And off he goes into the night, far from home and far from safety.
It’s not quite freedom, but you’ll take it.

Ahhh your lmk comic is amazing!!! Pls let me ramble a little, sorry advanced for a lot of reading-
Everything in the comic is so wonderfully written and clever, details like Macaque still afraid that MK hadn’t forgiven him even when Wukong said the opposite, I love that it wasn’t just a quick conversation solved everything. Ofc nothing short of a kaiju transformation was going to change Macaque’s mind. And after all that I just know this conversation won’t be over, this was only the start XD
Another detail I really liked was Wukong trying to stop MK from following Macaque thinking it’s too dangerous, Wukong himself still too afraid to push Macaque too far since they’re not there yet in their relationship, afraid of getting rejected again even when they’re talking again and on good terms/ this has happened before and hadn’t ended well for either of them- while MK trusted with his whole heart and went after Macaque.
It even tied in with Macaque’s lesson that he didn’t have to summon the Kaiju form when angry! This is the second time MK has used this form and instead of using to attack it’s used for comfort. And the trust too of Macaque letting MK in when before it might’ve not been that way. Ofc he wouldn’t ever hurt the kid but there’s communication now!
Especially the drawn details!!!
Like when Macaque flinches when MK transforms we’re on the side with his scar(I see you-) and a hug is so unexpected for everyone!! There needs to be more hugs!! The use of physical touch for comfort in this comic is immaculate, MK returning it the hug when his dad’s have hugged him, leaned against him, and held his hands when he’s needed the comfort!! Heartbreaking too Macaque would just brace for a hit, expecting nothing but pain, he didn’t move to defend- he even put his arms down!!
And I adore that MK is still a baby in his kaiju form!! Still smaller than dad. Or he looks smaller to me, I might be wrong! But it’s still a detail I noticed of MK shifting to match Macaque’s level. I love too the shadow bandages wrap around MK, similar to his tails wrapping around Macaque to complete the hug.
(And the live Wukong reaction??? Omg)
It’s also a nice detail as well that Wukong hadn’t felt the need to step in, letting the both of them talk first.
Just everything about the comic is handled with such care, this long ramble might’ve been silly or some of the things I pointed out are obvious but it’s still things I noticed and really liked!!
I honestly come in to check if there’s a new update everyday now, thank you so much for drawing out such a wonderful idea!! :D
AWWWW ok srsly Imma about to cry ;_;
tysm for this whole message, it was super heartwarming and I appreciated it smm that someone read in all the small details I out into the comic, makes me wanna keep doing them with the same care everytime.
I don't know how long this AU will last so I hope the gay monkies will lend me their power of inspirations to keep drawing / writing.
Thank you again!!

Medusa! Reader and Shang Tsung in MK 1 (Part 1)
NEXT
SPOILER ALERT FOR MK 1 STORYMODE
A/N: I hope y'all like this as I've been hyped for this game since I heard its release!!! I was so excited for the possibilities that I watched the full storymode cut as soon as it came out to take notes! Be aware, given this is a new timeline, there ARE gonna be some changes from the other hc/s you've known, but rest assured that doesn't mean I have forgotten. Please enjoy!
You were born around the same northern canton as Shang Tsung, yet you would come to know him in adulthood. You were born as the second eldest to your village's apothecary during your childhood. You never knew your eldest sister, who was taken at infancy to become Umgadi; despite this, your mother always spoke highly of the daughter she never got to know. To the point of being grating to everyone around you, including yourself. On the other hand, your father had high hopes for you to someday take over the apothecary of your village, having seen your innate talent and intrigue for medicine from an early age.
You reveled in the pride your father expressed for you. Although, your mother gave you a different time of day despite your best efforts. Because of your frustrations, you would come across to others as prickly and shrewish. Although deep down, you just wanted a chance to make BOTH your parents proud.
That day came, but not in the way you truly hoped, when a plague struck your village from another nearby canton. Thankfully, it wasn't Tarkat, but that didn't make the one that came any less deadly.
You and your father worked day and night to help treat your village, giving them depleting medicine to ease their symptoms. However, that doesn't mean you didn't have your fair share of corpses you had to help burn to stifle the plague from spreading.
When your father became ill from overworking, you took it upon yourself to search for a cure. It took weeks of secretly digging corpses out of the burn puts and cutting them open (something that wasn't so hard for you to stomach, oddly) to find which combinations of elixirs were the most effective before you found a cure. Even then, it took weeks of trials and tribulations before you finally succeeded. However, to others, you seemed to have cured your village overnight by some miracle, making both your parents proud.
From then on, through the grapevine, it wasn't hard for the newly crowned rulers of Outworld, Sindel and Jerrod, to hear the word of an upcoming healer making a name for herself around the northern cantons by healing most ailments and diseases. Eventually, they would invite you to study at the palace to further your knowledge of medicine.
You were already stunned to hear of Outworld's rulers inviting YOU, of all people, to study at their palace. Imagine your amazement when you first saw the luscious and lively city of Sun Do. Yet the city seemed pale compared to the crown jewel of Sun Do Palace.
When you were escorted into the palace, instead of immediately heading into the throne room as instructed, you slipped away from Li Mei's watch to head toward the legendary Hanging Gardens. While exploring the garden's flora, you took the time to sketch out the plant life you've never seen to look up later. In fact, you were so caught up in what you were doing you didn't immediately acknowledge Empress Sindel when she entered. When she invited you inside for tea, did you finally look up from what you were doing and realize who you had spoken to the entire time.
You quickly bowed as you started to ramble out apologies for not properly greeting your Empress, stating how you meant no offense or disrespect. Sindel only gave a small chuckle and brushed it off, stating it was a relief to know the healer they invited to study here had so much potential. From there, after getting berated by Li Mei about how there won't be a next time for you to slip from her, you meet Jerrod.
Jerrod and Sindel watched you flourish into a benevolent and dedicated healer, eventually the Head Healer for the Palace, often treating the royal family, Imperial Guard, or Umgadi. While there, you were also trained by Li Mei herself to defend yourself, to prove that every member of the Imperial House is capable of defending Outworld.
You and Sindel grew to have a close friendship. In fact, you treated Sindel the most when she was pregnant with twins and watched as both came into the world. You, too, helped with the upbringing of Mileena and Kitana after Jerrod's death. Sindel found she could confide in you, knowing any secret with you is safe, assured in your loyalty to her and the royal house.
However, that's not to say your friendship with Sindel didn't get into trouble occasionally, specifically in matters concerning Tarkat and those afflicted with it, as your role as a Healer conflicts with Sindel's policies.
You took it upon yourself to become one of the lead researchers into Tarkat, including going to the colony of those afflicted in the Wastes. What you saw appalled you and sickened every part of you that is a Healer.
Yet, as Sindel continues to ignore your suggestions on improving Tarkatan's life, a wedge forms between you. That doesn't stop you from advocating giving Tarkatans better treatment than what they currently have. You and Sindel's skirmish reaches a crescendo when Mileena, infected with Tarkart, one day approaches you.
You tried everything you could to treat her in secret from Sindel, fearing the Empress would banish her own daughter. Yet neither of your efforts would be successful as Sindel and Kitana eventually learned about Mileena's affliction. You and Sindel argued about how Mileena's illness should be dealt with, with you calling Sindel a hypocrite for protecting Mileena when she doesn't do the same for the rest of her sick subjects.
Thanks to the new sorcerer, Shang Tsung, that Mileena found, she was temporarily cured before she could go on a bloody rampage. Immediately, you asked Shang how he figured out how to treat Mileena's symptoms. To which he answered by offering a partnership, stating that together, you both had a real chance to cure the princess and all of Outworld. An invitation you were not going to turn down, much to the Sorcerer's delight.
Thanks to Shang Tsung backing your argument, Sindel had a laboratory built near the Tarkatan camp so you could further your studies for a cure. Although, secretly, it may have also been a way for you to put some distance between you and Sindel since you felt you needed time away from her and the city.
Shang Tsung introduced you to Syzoth, who he claimed would work as an assistant. You were unaware of his enslavement to Shang. Although more at ease in your presence, you couldn't help but notice how twitchy Syzoth can be, especially whenever Shang is in the room.
You recognize Shang's mannerisms, dialect, and choice of clothing to be from the same area you're from. Despite the familiarity you two connected with, you were wary of Shang when he refused to indulge in what he used to be. While he finds your caution understandable, that would not stop him from trying to woo you.
At first, he wasn't quite successful in using honeyed words and shiny trinkets since you were too caught up in your work to care for them. Frustratingly for him, you struck a faster friendship with Syzoth over your interests in each other's cultures. Yet, it didn't escape Shang's notice that Syzoth would cringe at your dark humor and be unable to fully understand the theories you would share with him.
Shang Tsung changed his approach to you after taking note of you and Syzoth's interactions (and punishing Syzoth in private). He got this chance when you let slip a dark joke that some would say is in bad humor. You slap a hand over your mouth when you realize what you said. Yet, to your surprise, the sorcerer you saw as pretentious and full of himself let out a genuine laugh to the point he had to step back from his worktable to reorient himself.
Shang Tsung didn't fake finding you humorous especially when it meant seeing you direct your smile toward him. One small but genuine one he scarcely ever saw directed at him. He found himself wanting more.
Such a small moment led to a friendship that intertwined with your partnership. Shang got you talking about your work and what you hope to accomplish with it, occasionally encouraging you. You would find him sometimes jotting down notes when you share with him theories you developed about Tarkat, including how its mutative properties cause an excessive amount of bone to grow from a person and could probably strengthen a person if used right.
"Yet, I would never actually see if that's true. Not only would it be incredibly painful, but it would be an act against nature.
"Of course, yet shouldn't progress be something healers should strive for?
"Indeed we do, but not at the cost of lives."
Syzoth watched as your relationship with Shang Tsung flourished, thus leading you to share a few apothecary secrets your father taught you. The Zatteran wishes he could've told you about the man you looked fondly at, yet he kept his mouth shut.
Unbeknownst to you, Shang Tsung would take some of your ideas and theories with Tarkat and then make them into a horrid reality, all right under your nose. For all you knew, the basement level of the lab would eventually be used to treat patients.
Yet, you didn't think Shang Tsung could ever be so depraved. Not from the charming and intelligent man you came to know through long discussions and walks near the lab. However, you started to grow suspicious since you saw Syzoth often head downstairs, but Shang Tsung discouraged you from looking around below. This eventually spiraled into a confrontation between the two of you.
You argued that both of you are partners and thus are equals. Just, what was he hiding down there? However, when you confronted the Sorcercer and gave him a piece of your mind, that's when disaster struck.
Fed up with Shang Tsung dancing around the answer and his secretiveness, you marched right to the door leading to the lower levels of the Laboratory. Out of desperation, Shang Tsung then ran to your side to push you away from the door.
He only meant to push you hard enough to get you away from the door, but it was enough to push you directly into a shelf containing a glass jar containing proto-type Anti-Tarkat serum that fell directly on your head, followed by more unknown serums. You screamed at the searing pain of glass and the liquids entering your eyes.
Your skin started to peel away, leaving your entire body in patches of red rashes, and your hair fell out in clumps. Your screams filled the entire laboratory as you collapsed to the ground. You didn't see the panicked look on Shang's face as he instructed Syzoth (who saw the whole thing) to carry you.
A/N: Sorry, that's all for now, folks. I reached the word count limit.😅 Don't worry, part 2 is coming out real soon!

How does Tang pay off his tab? Freenoodles addition
Another headcanon in one night wow!
Ok so Tang is a freeloader right?
He gets free noodles and probably lives with Pigsy anyways, they're basically married.
I headcanon that Tang never pays outright for his meals but does so in other ways in the relationship.
Like, he would go all out for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays the works.
Even on random days when Pigsy is overworked or he'd just completed a really big order or a new milestone for the noodle shop, when they were younger, Tang would treat Pigsy on some really nice dates.
Like maybe a rock concert that Pigsy really liked, a train trip around the city to get his husband out the kitchen, maybe even meet and greets with other famous chefs Pigsy admired cause I also headcanon Tang to be a university teacher so I think he'd have students who do internships and some who have connections.
Also since Tang does have a teacher's salary, Pigsy can kinda understand Tang not being able to pay for every meal but he'll still complain about it.
To make up for it, Tang would just splurge on his love every now and then. Perhaps even save up for some new equipment or new sign for the chef.
Heck, he might even ask Mk to be like the chef/waiter and have the date in the restaurant for once since I also headcanon Tang cannot cook anything other than instant noodles for a damn (Pigsy finds this insulting and does try to teach him but Tang doesn't really want to learn)
Since they're older they might not go out as often, but Tang would still treat Pigsy I think but most often just listen to Pigsy when he's stressed about customers and such.
Cause Pigsy listened when he rambled about myths and legends, figured he'd do the same.
Also I feel like Tang's straight up awful at flirting, he'll clam up and just chicken out when trying to flirt traditionally but he'll find other ways to flirt with Pigsy in very cute and nerdy ways or show his affection through other forms.
(ie nicknames, not very big on PDA but are very physically affectionate without even realizing in private, nuzzling all that good stuff)
On that note, I feel like Pigsy's kinda one of those people who just forgets every anniversary or valentines day and such.
He's a working man! Holidays means more customers! He ain't got time for slacking when there's business to be done!
But in all seriousness, he's doing his best to keep them afloat and in the buzz of it all does forget certain important dates sometimes but feels very guilty about it afterwards.
Tang is annoyed by this but knows Pigsy cares and will tease him but understands.
(Saw a tiktok of freenoodles in bed, Tang's annoyed, he counts down to midnight before saying: You missed our anniversary and Pigsy be like: ._.' He'd absolutely do something petty like that)
