I can see 3 explanations for this Malevolent Shrine and its altered construct.
It's infused with the 10ST, or
It's a different version of MS, or
It's a mix of both
10 Shadows Technique
When I first saw this page, my first thought was "shikigami". It's the multiple eyes that, like you said, remind us of Nue and Agito but it's also the hands, it's overall animalistic design and also the dark spine that keeps it in the air.
Like we already said, this could've happened because Sukuna was forced to use parts of his brain that weren't damaged by UV and those extra parts may have been the place where 10ST is stored.
This would mean that this look happened on accident or better said, it's a compromise Sukuna had to make to expand his domain again. Or he simply sacrificed the 10ST for the remainder of this fight and that's why it looks like that right now.
As was already said in the story, the construct has no innate ability, it merely symbolizes the centre of MS so the addition of the 10ST wouldn't add anything to it outside of the expansion of the domain itself. If this DE had been properly fused with Chimera Shadow Garden than I think the text would've indicated it. (Except Gege wanted to hide that part and explain it later, like how Miwa(?) suddenly appeared to protect Maki.
My overall assumption for more than a year now since Megumi has been possessed, is that a reincarnated sorcerer doesn't have access to the DE of their host because a DE comes from the soul and that has been submerged now. So if that above is the 10ST than it's only a shallow paint of it.
Another Version of Malevolent Shrine
To expand MS, Sukuna had to make 3 compromises: Binding Vows, different handsign and usage of other parts of his brain. The last 2 could've very well changed the appearance of his construct but I'm concentrating on his handsign now
(The handsigns that the characters are using for their DEs come from a set of Buddhist greetings when I remember it correctly. These greetings are limited so as long as Gege doesn't expand his pool, the amount of characters with DE will stay low (as is the case right now). It could also happen that some characters will have the same handsign for their DE)
Kusakabe said that for a DE, you have to mix a set of parameters until it all fits and that changing those parameters is insane (paraphrasing) but that's exactly what Sukuna and Gojo did during their fight.
My theory is that changing the trigger of MS - the enmaten handsign - is the cause for why his construct is different now. Other sorcerers most likely wouldn't be able to expand their domains at all when they don't use their normal handsign but Sukuna somehow pushed that through.
IMO, the change of handsign itself changed the appearance of the construct (and maybe overall ability of the domain?) simply because it's not its own handsign. It's not about Gojo's sign in particular but about Sukuna needing a one-handed sign which forced his domain through a shape it's not accustomed to.
(This would also be true when that isn't Gojo's sign.)
The construct itself, while bizarre at first glance, also fits into Sukuna's established themes re his previous construct, his inner domain and his face.
Tumblr media
The animal parts would come from the deer bones and skull, there is a mouth behind Sukuna that's the same as the mouth in his normal MS, the bones on top remind me of the deer antlers but also the ripcage his inner domain is in, and the hands symbolize Sukuna's own because that's how he uses his CT.
(Worth noting is that Makora has been destroyed; if some part of it would reappear again, it would be his wheel.)
The multiple eyes look like Sukuna's own face.
Gege did a few design changes when he reintroduced original Sukuna; he's better looking now for one and less animalistic. His right eyes are now significantly bigger as well, extremely big actually and IMO that's because Gege sketched that construct at the same time and matched Sukuna's look with it (plus other story related reasons probably)
And of course, the change in the construct's look could be a mix of everything I've said right now.
We'll definitely get more domain expansions in the future especially with Megumi's CSG looming on the horizon so this will get answered most likely... just not in the next three months.

Gojo Satoru and Iori Utahime/ contrast
This is not particularly a ship post, I don’t mind the ship either. (I just want to analyze them outside of romance). It's just that I was rereading Jujutsu Kaisen manga and had some drafts of characters that struck out to me, Utahime being one of them, Goodwill event reread made me appreciate so many characters even more, because this is the arc where all students and their stories are fleshed out. These characters really develop from what we have seen till now in the manga.
Utahime stood out me as a character the moment she was introduced during the first read itself (and nah, it was not her scar), this time around I decided to investigate her character more, if it was any other series I probably wouldn’t have, but it’s Gege Akutami, his minor characters are written beautifully with unique roles.
As I mentioned before, she stood out, because we literally didn’t know any other teacher except Gojo in the story, the first teacher to be introduced in the story after Gojo was her.
Tumblr media
From her reactions to Gojo clearly showed she was not his fan. That was like pretty standard reaction to Gojo in vicinity, pretty much what we saw from other characters initial intro as well, Megumi finds him idiotic, Nanami doesn’t respect him, Gakuganji hates him, Shoko is apathetic, Ichiji is scared of him and called him lazy (Gege really made sure to tell the readers how annoying Gojo is lol). But since she was a fellow teacher, I wanted to know whether she aligns with Gojo or the likes of Gakuganji, is she with the Higher ups or much like Shoko, doesn’t care about politics all together. Her shrine maiden outfit was interesting as well (it’s like Kikyo/Kagome from Inuyasha), that was also interesting to say the least.
Utahime, from her posture and speech patterns appears to be a very elegant woman. Her worry regarding Miwa, prioritizing safety of the students, being genuinely happy that they are safe, gave us the conclusion that she is a very responsible and good teacher to her students.
Her alignment with Gojo was quickly answered as well since Gojo trusted her enough with a very important task and information. Gankuganji didn’t include her when he gave the task to Kyoto students to kill Itadori, I believe it was because either she wouldn’t agree to it, or convince her students not to follow him.
Her interactions with Gojo also stood out, since there are many characters who don’t respect Gojo but trust him, she is one of them. However, no one really went “out of the way” like her and threw a cup of tea at him. Nanami thinks work is shit in general, he has same kind of distaste for Gojo that he had for his boss, Shoko doesn’t overtly react to anything, Ijichi in general has low self-esteem. All these characters don’t break out of their usual character patterns while interacting with Gojo. Whereas Utahime, who is more like a responsible teacher and calm headed individual, breaks from her usual character with Gojo. Her dislike of Gojo is very genuine. I think that for a no-nonsense individual person like Utahime, she does not appreciate Gojo’s personality and mightier than thou behaviour. Utahime wants respect as fellow sorcerer and senior, she does not behave insecure, she doesn’t even hide her scar with mask or makeup shows how unbothered she is about it, I like that about her.
From what we know about the past Arc of Gojo, Utahime is the only confirmed senior of Gojo, Getou, and Shoko. Mei Mei is most likely older than Utahime (mei calls Utahime by her given name, but uta addresses her as ‘Mei-san’, I think she is at least 3-4 years or even more older than Utahime, personally). Kasukabe was not even mentioned in that arc so he is ruled out as well. Utahime has probably studied in the same school as them, and that’s why she is pretty close with Shoko. I think it's also the reason Gojo trusts her so much, since he has known her from the days of his youth.
Gojo however doesn’t trust Mei Mei, its was quite clear in goodwill arc, but for some reason he does acknowledge Mei, and calls her with honorific ‘mei-san’. Mei is a woman who grooms her brother and uses him as part of her technique, she is apparently more respected by Gojo than a genuinely good human like Utahime. Thats probably because Gojo puts strength on pedestal. Mei was ready to do anything to become strong (so that she can earn more money lol), I think Gojo respects that, whereas I don’t think Utahime prioritises strength over the connections she has, which can be considered, at least in Gojo’s eyes (cause he cant really relate to normal human experience), as weak which stuns her individual growth as sorcerer. Utahime isn't selfish or someone with ego, she is one of the very few adults we have seen that actually care about students on personal level.
From her limited manga panels and Databook information, we can make out a few things.
• She IS smart and doesn’t believe in what is told to her outright. When Gojo pointed out about the possibility of mole, she didn't believe him immediately, rather when the attack in the event happened it was then she acknowledged Gojo’s theory to hold weight. She doesn’t react without enough information, as shown from the past arc with her mission with Mei Mei. I would conclude that her specialty is her level-headed thinking.
Tumblr media
• She genuinely cares about the well-being of people around her on a more personal human level, as shown with her she interacts with her students and how she wants Shoko to quit smoking. Unlike many jujutsu sorcerers, she is not selfish or possess ego. Her kindness is also returned as every single one of her students loves her.
Tumblr media
Weak Utahime?
I personally dont even think her it's relevant to her characterization, but maybe that's just me. I think her character shines when it's contrasted with Gojo's, but fighting or not fighting doesn't matter much to me, being stronger doesn't make you good character. But a simple answer to her being weak would be no. From this statement of Gege alone.
Tumblr media
If she had no offence at all, she would probably be grade-less like Shoko/Ijichi. Well, she is not. That means she fights. She has quick reflexes from what we have seen with her encounter with the dude with luck CT. Also, she was quick enough to react during the attack from Kenjaku.
Tumblr media
She is working in Kyoto, the capital of the jujutsu world, and she is directly under the noses of higher-ups. The fact that she is a head teacher in Kyoto is itself commendation because it’s not a position just anyone not worthy enough would have been appointed to. Higherups love traditional techniques, as mentioned by Panda during encounter with Haraki and Kirara.
Tumblr media
I believe Utahime’s technique is one that higher-ups would love. They would not put someone with less knowledge or capability as in charge at all. She is not just a mere high school teacher. Her position is the same as Gojo, but in Kyoto, she supervises sorcerers.
Her not being grade one is irrelevant to me as well, many sorcerers in jjk don't seem like their grades plus their is a lot of politics surrounding grade system itself, so those rankings are probably not even correct markers of strength or strength areas. She has survived till date is impressive enough, haibara died early (both him and nanami were unable to deal with a grade 1 curse back in the day, that’s how fast sorcerers die) She is a full fledge sorcerer. She takes missions as well if we go by this panel from 0.5.
Tumblr media
Gojo and Utahime contrast.
• Gojo’s relationship with his students is well, decent. He goes out of his way to teach and save strong ones (I can’t imagine him being a good teacher to, say, Momo or Miwa). He also literally sent Inumaki and Panda to get their asses completely destroyed by Geto cause he knew it would piss off Yuta and give him his powerup, not so great move for a teacher. He recognises their struggles but at the same time doesn’t seem to understand them. Save Yuuji and Yuuta, no one really respects him. Whereas Utahime’s students adore and protect her, they solve their problems together. They genuinely want the system to change and let their intent know about this during all the vs battels in Goodwill arc. Kyoto kids were really trying Tokyo kids to understand the problems in the system, but all of their common remarks were ‘I don’t care’.
(Gojo is a nuanced character, he ain't this perfect human people make him out to be, while he does care about people around him, he does NOT understand them well, this comes from the solitude he lives in. While he does not want to be alone, he also doesn't understand anyone who is not as strong as him, which furthers the gap between him and others, his entire character is quite tragic honestly.)
• Utahime’s CURSED TECHNIQUE was a delight. It can boost anyone within a zone, including herself. How it contrasts with Gojo, you might ask. Gojo is the strongest when he fights alone. Everyone else just drags him down, it is spelt out to us multiple times in the story. Whereas Utahime can help even someone like Ichiji cast a powerful barrier, at the same time give Gojo a great boost. Gojo’s technique literally separates him from the world, but Utahime brings them within her zone.
(Utahime technique was brilliant! Its honestly like literal manifestation of how she is as a human herself. She values connections, and her technique is probably THE best support technique in jjk. It makes others strong, including the caster. She is dragging no one down, and no one is left behind. Its almost like people feel weaker with Gojo around, and they get stronger with Utahime around, lmao.)
• This brings another contrast, individual/isolation and collective/connection. Utahime asks her students to get along, they even fight together, have each other’s back, and are even emotionally more connected to each other. While Gojo tells Megumi that everyone dies alone, and jujutsu is an individual sport, he is teaching his students to value individual strengths more.
(Needless to say that both things are quite important, but Gojo’s conversation with Megumi was quite interesting because, ironically, Gojo died because of the very same reason, he fought sukuna all alone, not that anyone could have helped him without dragging him. Also funny cause the reason students and others were able to defeat sukuna was because they worked together. Yuji came out of that cog mentality, where he was trying to discard his humanity to become a curse killing machine, to become more human/more himself once again, and flipped the game which was being played on sukuna's rules, where superior ego/strength wins, and made it about humanity, where yuji saved megumi and defeated Sukuna, love yuji my boy.)
• Their CONNECTIONS with other people are also something to look at. Gojo’s character central theme is his isolation/solitude. Many ppl say how he was used and never saw as humam in the story, well its not incorrect, but it's not completely accurate either. Most of the people he trusts didn't see him that way, including his students, they might not be as close to him or even might not respect him, but they always saw him as human, their whole frustration was that he HIMSELF didn't see as one, he behaved mightier than thou, thats why canonically Utahime and Nanami really dislike his company. He is the cause of his own solitude, shoko literally says, "What do you mean alone? I was there," shows us that much. He draws that line by himself. In chapter 236, he even acknowledges that, despite loving people around him, he didn’t understand them, and wasn't understood by them. He saw others as "different" than him, him and geto were "strong" according to him, means they were like "same" species, to him others were different species, he can love them and be loved by them, but there is no deep understanding. There was a reason he longed for a bond like once he had with geto, where they were equally strong. That's why he tries to reach out to sukuna, he projected his own isolation on sukuna, while sukuna doesn’t feel that way, sukuna has entirely accepted his solitude, he has completely discarded his humanity, he just wants to be the pinnacle. Gojo isn't much different from sukuna, he is quite self-centered and egoistic himself, it's just that, if Sukuna is "perfected ego" then Gojo’s ego is not perfect, he didn’t entirely disregard his humanity, he did crave connections, that's why in that battle, sukuna won. In a battle of strength and ego, a perfected ego always wins.
Tumblr media
I can say for sure Shoko is canonically closer to Utahime than Gojo. She got so worried Utahime didn’t call for two days, Utahime sends her parcels to Shoko, she stopped smoking cause Utahime insisted. Utahime probably bonds with her on a more personal and human level. Unlike gojo, Utahime is very very human, she doesn’t possess that kind of ego, Shoko and Utahime’s friendship last more than a decade but Gojo couldn't even keep that one bond (Geto) he created with someone else, because what initially brought Gojo and Geto together was strength, but what keeps Uta and Sho together is human connection. Utahime is genuinely more loved and is closer to people. Gojo is well, he is alone and on top above everyone else.
(Again, not to say Gojo and Shoko are not close at all, Shoko is also one of the people Gojo trusts, but she is definitely much more closer to Utahime.)
Utahime is everything Gojo is not and vice-versa. Gojo can do a lot of things others can, but if there is one thing that he absolutely can’t do, is what Utahime can (making others stronger).
Tumblr media
The problem with these two is that, even though they have aligned goals, shared values, same path, and a lot of trust in each other. They DON'T really respect each other's way of life. Utahime can't respect Gojo’s self-centered behavior that he seems unaware about (lol) and the way he is unable to understand others more personally by deluding himself in his head that strength is needed to form connections, neither can Gojo respect Utahime who doesn’t seem to care much about strength in first place.
On paper/in theory, their team is great if they work together. They complement each other, but Gojo is still stuck in his own head about his isolation. Granted, Utahime can not provide him the satisfaction of equal fight and equal strength, but why does she need to? Her beauty is that she isn't like Gojo. She values bonds, she knew her students so well that she was able to find out about mole through the process of elimination. Watching Gojo and Utahime working together was a delight. The 200% hollow purple technique was amazing.
The problem with Gojo is that all his relations will end up in tragedy, because his entire character is tragic itself. He couldn't even maintain one bond he formed in his life and also couldn't even be the absolute strongest and pinnacle. He couldn't even discard his humanity entirely to become like Sukuna, but he couldn't even fully accept it to become weaker and more humane, he wanted to die fighting someone stronger, he loved his powers and strength. So he did end up tragic, but as he himself said, he was satisfied with it, so who am I to take that away from him.
Tumblr media
I am pretty sure Utahime will live in the end or at least I want her to live, but it's Gege's story (a beautiful one as well) so it's his wish. I do wish some more interactions with her and students.
Peace out ✌️
Again, be respectful people. I am a jjk fan, and I sometimes like to write analysis. I like to stay far, far away from discourse, so please don't do that here.

Bishop made sure that Chr’ell (Olivier) is combat trained and programmed to learn her opponent moves. When she uses her flames, the way she uses it is similar to the firebender in Avatar The Last Airbender. Olivier’s hair burns when angered.
Mona Lisa is also combat trained as a defense by both Leatherhead and Olivier. Since Olivier, the crime lord’s daughter, will have a lot of enemies. She makes sure that her henchmen are well trained. Mona superpowers is transmutation similar to FMA. She can transmute with a circle. She’s also an alchemist and makes potions that could heal and boost their ability like in video games. Mona weapon is an axe.
Miwa is flexible because of gymnastics and has gone to competitions. One of her favorite is the ribbon dance. When she got her weapon it was a dart rope. Her nippo is spiritual power, her power is similar to shrine maiden ability. Eventually she’ll carry a talisman too.
Frida weapon is a tessen. Her moves are more ninja like than her siblings. She was Olivier’s assistant and was trained to be stealth. She often was use for intel of her enemies or request of yokai making a deal with Olivier. Frida nippo is illusion, when she starts using her power she was only about to disguise herself. Eventually her power got stronger and is able to change the scenery too. She also skill in mimicry.

Japanese Summer Festival, part 1
(PART 1 due to a limit on number of photos per post)
Wow, more than a month since my last post! I'm slacking! But I have a good excuse - I was working on a HUGE project. This is my biggest scene to date. It's so large it won't fit in my usual diorama cube box. This was on my coffee table, and for an example of scale, that table measures 48" wide by 26" deep. And it was all covered LOL
It's still technically summer, and in Japan, summer festivals are a very popular pastime. I've wanted to create an actual festival scene for a while, and I finally took the plunge this year. My husband used his Glow Forge to create the little food stalls, and I created the rest. The awnings, booth covers, prices, signs, posters, floor, walls, etc. are all made by me. I also painted the silver on the booths. They're technically still a bit under scale compared to real life stalls, but I was basing my measurements off actual props I had, most of which are Re-Ment. There are even a few Re-Ment festival sets, so I had to use those! And next year I plan to add even more stalls - but I'll have to alternate what's on display since I think I'm at my limit of what will fit on that table LOL.
So here we go, a 1/6 scale Japanese summer festival! We've got lots of food street stalls (yotai) and a few popular games, and all the girls are wearing kimonos (a popular tradition).
Looking down the street toward the stairs leading to more fun (through a real torii gate!):

Miwa is watching Kiku try her hand at yo-yo fishing:
Tumblr media
Kiku is yo-yo fishing. In this game, you're meant to use a hook attached to a paper rope to pick up a water balloon. The balloons are filled with air and water, and they're called yo-yos because of the bouncing effect they have. This game can be difficult due to the rope being made of paper and the balloons are in the water.
Tumblr media
Miwa has a popular snack - a tornado potato - along with the popular Ramune drink:
Tumblr media
She got one! Any balloons that you successfully pick up with the hook can be kept.
Tumblr media
Goldfish scooping. This game requires you to use a small wand called a poi to try to catch goldfish. The poi's net is made of paper, which makes the game tricky because of the water. The game is over once the paper in the poi breaks. However, people will often get to take one of each fish home after trying even if they don't actually catch them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aika is watching the goldfish scooping game, carrying a bag of cotton candy:
Tumblr media
Superball fishing. This game is like the goldfish scooping game, only the prize is super balls. I made these little tubs myself. The Re-Ment sets had the yo-yo fishing and goldfish scooping, but no superballs. So I took the measurements of those tubs, used TinkerCAD to create two boxes made to the same size, and 3D printed them. I then used some of the Miniverse resin (the recalled stuff, lol) to fill the tubs in layers, and I used beads without holes (they exist!) to make the super balls. I'm very pleased with how they turned out!

Takoyaki stand. Takoyaki is a bite-sized, ball-shaped dumpling made from batter and grilled, then filled with octopus, tempura, pickled ginger, and green onion:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A definite favorite in the summer - the shaved ice stand (kakigori). Similar to shaved ice in the U.S., with the Japanese variant, blocks of ice are shaved into fine flakes using special machines, then topped with flavorings like strawberry or melon syrup, sweet matcha (strong green tea) sauce, sweetened beans, or condensed milk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fuka got a variety of flavors on her kakigori! Yum! Meanwhile, Lycee is preparing to make some more - she'll use the little machine to grind that block of ice to shave it down into edible pieces:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look closely at the lady below in the blue kimono and you'll see that she's tucked in a traditional uchiwa (hand fan) into the obi (belt) of her kimono. These fans are a must for summer festivals to help beat the heat, as well as add a more traditional look to the yukata (kimono).
Tumblr media
Choco banana and candy apple stand. These treats are also popular - they're your traditional candy apple on a stick, and also chocolate-covered bananas on a stick covered in sprinkles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cotton candy stand. Another popular treat for festival-goers of all ages. The container on the counter features fortune sticks inside, and you're meant to reach in and pull one out. You then tell the miko (shrine priestess) what fortune you got on the stick, and she will give you a paper that explains your fortune.
Tumblr media
Japanese cotton candy bags frequently feature popular anime or pop culture characters on them. I made these bags by using small jewelry bags, cutting off the Ziploc sealer, placing cotton balls inside (almost all festival cotton candy I've seen has been white), then sized down pictures of characters, printed them out on clear sticker paper, and stuck them on the bags. I'm very pleased with how they turned out!

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Part 2) After his defeat and "rebirth" in Sumeru, the Wanderer decides it's time to return to Inazuma once again and meet up with a certain someone...
-> Wanderer x Gn (sibling) reader!
-> Possible spoilers for 3.3 Archon Quest! Gender neutral reader - they/them pronouns used! Reader is innocent/naive! Wanderer might be slightly occ! Reader is technically Wanderer's sibling as they are a puppet created by Ei as well! Travel is mentioned, but twin is not defined! Some angst, but also fluff! Kinda long so there might be spelling errors - feel free to point the out!
Tumblr media
After his defeat he had adopted a new name and distanced himself from the person he was before, though he accepted that he and that part of him were one and the same. After erasing himself from the memory of most people in Teyvat he had many options, he had never had that many paths or choices before him. It was strange and truthfully he was lost.
It felt ironic that he would listen and consider the words of the Dendro Archon - who he tried to usurp and almost succeeded. He mocked her endlessly, yet she showed nothing but kindness to him... She reminded him of you. It had been some time since he had last thought of you, it was for your own safety and for his own well being, but... After all this time - had you changed?
Would you wish to ever see him again? The last time you did he had almost killed you and you still looked at him with those kind eyes of yours. You and Nahida were both foolish, but perhaps being foolish wasn't a terrible thing. It wouldn't hurt to visit you, even if for the last time. Perhaps it would be for the best in any case. You likely wouldn't remember him or that anyway, but maybe you would recognize him and believe him.
He of course wouldn't hurt you, so would it be okay to see you, right? He wasn't entirely sure why he wanted to see you so badly after all this time. He couldn't truly go all that way and trouble to apologize... He could recognize his mistakes and move past them, but to apologize for them was something entirely different and foreign to him.
He approached the Traveler with an annoyed expression, which was nothing new. They turned away from Paimon to face the Wanderer who looked a little... uncomfortable? Nervous perhaps? Strange...
“Next time you'll be heading to Inazuma, I'm coming along.” He stated plainly.
The Traveler was quite taken aback, “Any particular reason?”
“Not that it's any of your business, but... I'm going to visit someone.” He grumpled.
The Traveler could see he wasn't going to answer any of their questions, so they simply didn't press. They did take him with them in after some time when they had some commissions there. He was glad the Traveler didn't press him to know more or ask to come along, at least they could respect his boundaries.
When they arrived in Inazuma the Wanderer realized he had no way to know where you were... The last time he had simply come by you on complete accident and you were guarded, he couldn't be getting into any more trouble so going to Tenshukaku was out of the quistion - not that he would want to go there anyway with the high chance of running into Beelzebub.
He and the Traveler parted ways in Ritou, from there he started heading to Inazuma. It seemed like the best place to hope and find you, if he became desperate he would consider the Grand Narukami Shrine. It felt quite strange being back, but the feeling wasn't hatred or resentment like before. After erasing the Balladeer from existance and becoming one with the Wanderer he looked at the world with a new pair of eyes...
The Wanderer remembered Inazuma quite fondly due to Miwa and all the others, they never betrayed him in his memories... He never seemed to have come across you surprisingly as he didn't have any memories of you, his feelings were still complicated...
He wanted to hate and resent you for all you were and all you represented - you were as weak and as naive as Kabukimono. But truly he didn't, not entirely at least. He recognized those feelings were because of his jealousy and his hatred was for Beelzebub for throwing him away.
It was getting late and he had yet to spot you, you would be quite hard to miss with your set of guards and attention grabbing traditional clothing, at least as far as he knew that hadn't changed. Sitting around wasn't getting him anywhere so he sighed heavily and stood up. He didn't have other ideas but to walk around the streets aimlessly and hope he happens to run into you.
He hadn't counted on the fact that you probably didn't roam the streets every single day... You could even have been at the shrine or be staying there currently. He felt stupid for not thinking things through, but he kept thinking what to even say to you the whole boat trip to Inazuma. Truthfully he was nervous even if you wouldn't remember him or what he did, maybe it was because you didn't remember.
He leaned against a railing and watched the sun slowly dissapear in the horizon. He felt rather defeated and annoyed for waisting all day waiting for the chance that you would show up... He scanned the landscape and was quickly frozen in place as he saw the familiar clothing from the corner of his eye. It was you. You were sitting by a pond with your guards further away giving you space...
Without second thoughts he leaped over the railing down to the park and rushed over the bridge. He stopped some steps away from you with your guards standing defensively in front of you, they barked for him to back off but he didn't hear a word thry said. All the commotion had caused you to turn your attention towards him and he could see your eyes widen for a split second before you regained yourself.
“It's okay, let him through.” You said with a smile.
The same smile you had given to him the first time he had ever spoken to him, your eyes shone warmly like they did when you had last met... No. You had not changed.
“But...” The guard began protesting but you waved your hand dismissively and smiled reassuringly, he had no choice but to obey.
He was let through reluctantly by your guards as they eyed him wearily, clearly conveying they would be watching and not to try anything stupid. He didn't pay them much mind as he stepped closer to you, you patted the bench you were sitting on to signal for him to sit down beside you. He did.
“There's something very familiar about you and I can't quite place it. You look familiar and I feel we've met before, but I'm sure we haven't...” You looked at him curiously.
“It's complicated, but we have.” He turned to face you completely.
You stayed silent for a moment as you stared deeply into his eyes, “I believe you. Why don't I remember then?”
“It's surprising you can even tell or believe me so easily.” He turned away and began thinking of how to explain everything...
“I'm assuming you're here to tell me why that is?”
The Wanderer nodded and began telling his story, the way they went for him and not his alternative self. From how he was made and abandoned by his creator, your shared mother... How he was taken in by Miwa and how he died, that he was tricked by his murder which lead to him eventually joining the Fatui. He would be their tool and test subject for a long time inorder to one day claim the Electro Archon's Gnosis, which he managed to do.
After that he left to conquer Sumeru from it's weak and helpless god, who was locked away by her people. Her own people worked with him to bring him to near goodhood... He didn't lie that would he have won the world would have paid for all it had put him through, he would not have been a merciful god. In the end he was stopped by the tiny Archon and the Traveler. He was asleep for a long while, after which he entered Irminsul and used the last of his powers to find the truth. He then tried erased himself from history, effectively changing it and making everyone but the Traveler forget about him.
He didn't leave out your first meeting or how he had desired to end your life for his own selfish reasons, he wanted his creator to suffer for her hypocrisy and your weakness. But he understood that he didn't hate you or want you to suffer because of his selfishness - first time for everything it seems. What he wanted most of all was to know why Ei did what she did... Why did she keep and care for you when he was simply thrown out? Why or how were you better than he was? But he likely wouldn't get those answers...
“I see. It has been a long time since you have been able to open up to someone, thank you for trusting me.” You smiled warmly.
After everything he told you ge didn't expect you to still be able to smile, perhaps he should have expected it since it was you, but still... He didn't sugarcoat any part of the truth, not even for you. Yet you still sat beside him with a warm smile and kind eyes, your entire presence radiated comfort. He hadn't realized how much he craved and needed it... He was glad he was able to meet you again and tell you everything.
Lesser Lord Kusanali was a great listener, but tended to try and find solutions to whatever was bothering him, but you simply listened and comforted him with your presence... Perhaps it was because you were technically family, both the failed creations of the God of Eternity, thus he felt closer to you. Because of this he was able to connect and confide in you, even if he was still bitter and jealous of the life you got to live.
“I guess that's about it... I don't know why but I thought you should know.” He truly wasn't sure why this was, but perhaps it was more for him than you.
“I hope you know that even if I don't remember what you did to me, I don't hold any anger towards you. While it doesn't excuse your actions, you were in pain and didn't know how else to handle it, I forgive you.” You reached carefully to rub his back.
He tensed up at first, but soon relaxed and allowed you to do your thing. It was nice... Deep down he knew you would forgive him based on your past actions, but it was still reassuring to hear you say so. He was glad to have met you, but the sun was already down and it was time for you to part ways - the Traveler was probably already waiting for him at Ritou and you needed to return to Tenshukaku.
“Wait!” You raised your voice as he stood up.
He turned to look at you in confusion and was taken a back as you rushed towards him. You held onto his shoulders, but your grip was anything but hurtful.
“I... I hope you will return one day. There's so much I have still to ask you and I don't want this to be our final farewell.” You pleaded.
“I don't think that's such a good idea...” He said.
“If it's because you don't feel ready to then I'll wait, I have time Eternally. I just hope that one day you'll come back to see me.” Your smile didn't falter.
He stared at you for a time, deep in thought. You were right, he wasn't ready to form a relationship with you just yet. He would need time to pay his dues and hunt down the Doctor, but perhaps one day... Finally he snapped out of his thoughts and nodded.
“One day.” He simply replied, and that was enough for you.
You parted ways as the stars began appearing in the sky and he felt content for the first time in a long while. He knew the Traveler was waiting so he tried his best to be quick, but on the other hand he didn't care that much as he was the one requesting to be brought here. During the walk he had quite some time to think, what ran all over his head was your request - your promise to him. He didn't know how long it would take for him to be ready, but one day he would be and he was sort of looking forward to it.

A/N: Here's part two! While I wasn't entirely happy with how rushed the first part was - I really like this one and it's conclusion! Thank you so much for requesting this <3 Feel free to like and or reblog!

258 Fight Choreography PbP and Explanation by Lightning
A play by play of the fighting in this chapter, as well as Lightning's clarification of Sukuna's barrier technique being used here!
JJ-High vs Sukuna
Tumblr media
After the last black flash in 257, Yuji launched Sukuna into the wall above them both!
The narrator explains that Sukuna should have been able to recover his reversed cursed technique after the black flash he landed on Larue, who seems to be dying after the experience. In the last panel, Miguel notices Sukuna's menacing aura spike in the distance.
Gege used this same visual to depict 200% Hollow Purple, and Sukuna's first appearance after the bath.
Tumblr media
Please check notes for a disclaimer concerning everything after this page!
Sukuna's domain possesses eyes like his mask, and two hands cradle the underside of it. Black texture can be seen upon its summoning, like that of a usual closed-barrier domain.
Tumblr media
Sukuna's domain expansion destroys a wide area within Shinjuku, seemingly just with its initial summoning. More black texture of closed-barrier domains can be seen here in the bottom panel. Mei Mei's birds fly away to escape Sukuna's brewing storm.
Tumblr media
Yuji casts Simple Domain to avoid Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine!
Tumblr media
Sukuna and the cast rest at the eye of the storm that Sukuna's created. The eyes in Sukuna's shrine bleed, like the bottom eye on his mask that Yuji punched last chapter.
Tumblr media
EDIT: Lightning made updates and I have added them in place of the outdated information.
By Lightning on Twitter:
"Essentially, this narration has two independent, separate clauses:
What Sukuna did, the open-barrier Domain (with no drop in output or range) that doesn’t separate its barrier from real space
Why a closed-barrier Domain wouldn’t work against capturing Maki In the official, it assumes Sukuna is doing not only (1) but also (2). It assumes he’s doing open-barrier, then closing his Domain. This is what I also wrongfully assumed btw"
Specific Clarifications:
"In summary, what Sukuna used is his high-level, open-barrier Domain; no closed-barrier traits involved
A closed Domain cannot capture Maki bc it “pushes” out inanimate objects from its mental landscape; an open-barrier Domain keeps Maki in bc it acts directly on the real world.” 1
This in no way diminishes either of them btw
The reason why Sukuna opted to expand his divine open-barrier is exactly bc Maki could potentially break it from outside or sneak attack him. He risked it all to give no chances to the “monkey” who could fk with his game 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yuji, Miwa, Ino, and Choso all cast simple domain and prepare to withstand Sukuna's final domain expansion!
Notice the tornado.
Ui Ui likely teleported Miwa into range to help Maki.
Tumblr media
Yuji's SD breaks and he suffers Sukuna's slashes.
Tumblr media
When Yuji loses his leg from the slashes, the attacks stop, and he recovers the limb by reconnecting it with blood manipulation!
Tumblr media
Sukuna finally uses "fuga," or Furnace - Open!!
Notes:
A little more late than I'd like to have uploaded, so I apologize. I reached out to Lightning for confirmation she'd provide her own translation, and thankfully she was already working on it. I, and many others, trust her translations and linguistic analyses more than anyone else. I wanted to make sure I was providing as much accuracy as I could.
Further analysis by Lightning, and she echoes my own!
Do note, Ui Ui has the soul swapping ability, not Yuji.
Yuji literally saved everyone's lives last chapter by making it so Sukuna could only recover one arm lol.

A question about kagai crests: As you note, the crest for Kamishichigen represents two skewers with five rice paste dumplings. According to Kyoto lore, this represents offerings made by the seven chaya during hegemon Toyotomi Hideyoshi's visit to the nearby Kitano Shrine. Along the same lines, Gion Kobu has an eight dumpling "tsunagi dango" crest. Do you know the story behind Miyagawacho's adoption of the three ring crest? (I wonder if there is some connection with the Miwa Shrine in Nara.)
The three rings of Miyagawa Cho represent the unity between the shrines, the tea houses, and the people who work and live in the neighborhood ^^

Torii
The Origins of Torii
There are two kinds of Sandō (road that approaches the shrine), a road that comes from a town or city and continues to the shrine, and the road from the entrance of the shrine to the Haiden (Prayer Hall) • Honden (Main Hall). Both are sacred roads in which visitors walk, and mikoshi are carried along the path. Therefore in order to demarcate the sacred land, torii, koma inu, stone lanterns, etc… are placed. Koma inu, and stone lions will be discussed later on, here is where torii are being discussed. In fact the origin of Torii is not clear. From extant examples and paintings in picture scrolls, it is known that a similar type of torii existed in the 12th century, but it is not known when and for what purpose they were built.
Why are there so many different types of Torii?
The present torii gate functions as a symbolic gateway, indicating that the area inside (beyond) the gateway is sacred ground. It also serves as a warning that any disrespectful behavior beyond the gate will result in punishment. Another feature of torii gates is that there are many types. It is said that the shape of the torii may have indicated the type of kami, but this is not certain. The form can be broadly classified into the Shinmei type and the Myojin type. While the Shinmei type is simple, the Myojin type is highly decorative and sometimes painted in vermilion. This may be related to the fact that Myojin-style torii are often erected at shrines of common people’s beliefs, as they have a strong sense of Shinto/Buddhist syncretism.
Tumblr media

Lower horizontal timber, traditionally does not pierce the columns, and in Shinmei style torii, is said to be round
柱 Hashira
The two vertical columns leading up to the horizontal bars
藁座 Waraza
Reinforcement for the Daīshi at the bottom of the torii
台石 Daīshi
Stone pedestal at the bottom of torii
亀腹 Kamebara

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 224 (spoilers)
Tumblr media
We're back in Shinjuku Part 16 D:
Kenjaku's resolution will wait a few months now because we've been cockblocked again. It's good storytelling but still frustrating at times
We jump back into a flashback immediately. It's a battle conference and nearly everyone is present. The translation was a little fishy in a few places so I'll need to read the official chapter again on Sunday
We get so much info here, like Miwa's Vow to never use her sword again in Shibuya. I wonder what all these additional characters are going to do in the future. Even though they won't fight against Sukuna, they will still need something
Noritoshi decides to go to his family and protect them and we also learn that he was one of Yuji's teachers in the last month because Choso (like 3 months old or sth) can't teach
Tumblr media
Kashimo is here again. He gets two spotlights on him with Hakari by his side which strengthens me in my believe that he's going to survive Sukuna's slash. Like I said previously, Kashimo's body is already deformed and he has the same one-time transformation as Sukuna. He won't fight against Sukuna though, instead he'll fight with Hakari against Uraume
We get explanations and summarizations of Higuruma's CT and Sukuna's crimes and it is difficult to use Higuruma's DE on him because there is no choice in the crime that will be prosecuted. It's randomly decided by the Judge shikigami.
Tumblr media
No gonna lie, the absurdist humour from the last 2 chapters was funny but this sequence I find hilarious. It's mixed in with a serious tone what's doing it for me
Tumblr media
Yuji has taken over Megumi's lost spot of the brains. Hopefully he will succeed.
Mei mei attacks Sukuna with her crows but most likely only as a measuring device plus some distraction for Yuji and Higu. She does speculate though that her attack actually hitting might cause some damage
It also looks like she's talking to an unknown person. My hope is for Shiu to have joined the good guys to save his friend's son
Higuruma activates his DE with the same case that Yuji had been part of. Like this they make sure that Sukuna's trial won't be random and the "Death" penalty will be achieved
Tumblr media
There are so many open questions and possible outcomes to this:
Is Sukuna's brain still damaged or can he use his DE?
I said it multiple times, his brain most likely hasn't been affected by the transformation 1) because narrative flow and 2) because the transformation isn't absolute anyway.
Only one CT will most likely be seized, and I'm guessing it will be Shrine. Sukuna will fight with the 10ST next, the thing is though, his CE would also be seized if I'm remembering correctly
Alternatively, will Sukuna try to spin himself as not guilty? Might he succeed? I'm hoping for a good and intelligent battle next chapter
Also, absolutely need to point this out:
No one has lost any words or panels on Gojo. Again.
Next week will be on break, so the chapter on the 24th will be the one after the court battle. My hope: Shoko enters the scene to heal Gojo.

Okay, now that the final chapter is officially out, and here are my thoughts... (under cut because manga spoilers)
It's not a bad ending.
People, mostly the overly obsessive Gojo fans, are just upset because Gojo didn't return. Or they are mad because everyone has "seemingly forgotten about Gojo" especially since no one mourned him.
But wanna know something?
As much as it's sad that no one mourned Gojo's death after the battle. It actually makes sense because Gojo himself wouldn't want people to mourn him.
Like there's a reason the letters he left Megumi and Nobara were more silly and referencing a parent instead of him saying anything super serious.
Because Gojo probably figured Nobara wouldn't really care about her mom's whereabouts. And he knew Megumi didn't give a shit about Toji. But Gojo still went ahead and told them regardless to spark something in them other than sadness for him not being around. (Nobara was pissed but didn't care, and Megumi genuinely laughed.)
Satoru Gojo's goal was to raise up sorcerers that could do what he did.. but do it as a team rather than Jujutsu Society depending on one person (like it did with Gojo). And what happened? He achieved just that with his students: Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Maki, Yuta, Panda (kinda), Inumaki, and Hakari.
As well as Kusakabe, Higuruma, Hana(Angel), Todo, UiUi (who was getting the injured off the battlefield), Shoko (healing up everyone), MeiMei (recon info about what was happening), and even Miwa (providing backup with simple domain to protect against Shrine)
Everyone (minus Panda) was involved in defeating Sukuna in one way or another. Either directly or indirectly.
Like it's understandable why Gojo, in the afterlife, stated and was upset that Sukuna didn't go all out against him. And instead Sukuna more relied on Mahoraga and, to a lesser extent, Merged Beast Agito. Because he knew that once Gojo was defeated.. everyone else would jump him.
So Sukuna opted to pace himself more.
It was Gojo who had to go all out. Because IF he beat Sukuna.. cool, but that would solidify him in the eyes of Jujutsu Society as basically a god. And make his life even lonelier than it already was.
I'm not saying that Sukuna didn't give Gojo a helluva fight. Because there were moments in Gojo vs. Sukuna, where Sukuna could've gone into his true form but opted to just RCT heal Megumi's body instead.
But Sukuna was playing the long game while Gojo had to start off strong (200% Hollow Purple) and maintain that level of strength the whole time.
But Gojo, despite losing, DID do something major he removed the biggest threat against everyone else that Sukuna had. And that was Mahoraga (and Merged Beast Agito; even though Agito didn't really do much against Gojo, however, it would've provided a challenge for everyone else).
