Sooooo this post by @lover-of-mine got my brain going brrrrrr over the Mitchell Mitchell Charlie Charlie ambulance of it all
Because there are also two Freddie’s tied up in this as well but it’s more than that - it’s the living/dying danger/no danger (technically) of it all.
Bear with me - I need to set it out for my brain because there’s something about the Mitchell’s dying and the Charlie’s putting Buck and Eddie in the line of fire (by this I mean both of them at the same time and not one or the other being in danger)
We have Charlie 1, who puts the both of them in danger (unintentionally) with the grenade in his leg. Up to this point Buck and Eddie have been at odds but this bonds them and we get the ‘we might end up real close’ line. This is essentially the foundation stone/ moment of their relationship.
Then, 7 episodes later we have Mitchell 1, who gets crushed by a car and dies. Neither Buck or Eddie are in any danger during this call. And we have the establishing of Bucks method statement - ‘you don’t find it you make it. (Which imo is the first time we see buck misunderstanding the assignment)
Then we have Charlie 2, again Buck and Eddie are both put into (again unintentional) danger when the come under gun fire. This time Eddie does get hurt but it plays into the might end up real close concept as ultimately we see the bond getting even tighter through the will.
Then guess what 7 episodes later (you can’t tell me this isn’t intentional at this point) we meet Mitchell 2, who like Mitchell 1 dies. Whilst Buck and Eddie can be seen to be in danger throughout this episode, in reality neither of them are truly in danger - killing them wont get Mitchell what he wants, so even though we are held in suspense through the episode, the reality is that they’re ‘safe’.
There is something about how a Charlie binding them ever closer together while Mitchell’s are a omen - they foreshadow events later in their respective seasons.
Mitchell 1 gets crushed by his car, foreshadowing Bucks crush injury at end of season (and the hand holding parallel is not lost on me either - Thomas holding Mitchell’s hand and Eddie being the one holding Bucks).
Mitchell 2 is Eddie’s foreshadowing - he blows out his brains to protect his heart so it can be transplanted into his son. This is foreshadowing Eddie’s mental health breakdown - he neglects brain in trying to protect his son - his heart - Mitchell’s heart is a literal one and a metaphorical one while Eddie’s is more just metaphorical.
Then there are the two Freddie’s - Freddie Costas sets of bomb that crushes buck and Freddie Vaughn is the guard who is lax with Mitchell and ends up injured at the initiation of the prison riot.
And now we have two Thomas/Tommys - both who seem to be there to direct Buck to the correct path in some way - Thomas set buck on the path of you make it and it feels to me a bit like Tommy is going to play a part in either reenforcing that concept for Buck (correcting his path) or building onto the idea of making something.
Basically we need to be on the look out for Charlie’s Mitchell’s Freddie’s

don’t think it’s lost on me that when responding to the Mitchell and Thomas call, it was just buck and Eddie and Bobby. Conveniently no one else in that scene. Just the two boys lying to themselves about being in love w each other and Bobby who defs saw it first and was still seeing it then

If buddie was not been planned since they casted Ryan then why is it that the couple that shows Buck that the type of love he wants (someone who stays with you your whole life no matter what) is possible, is a gay couple?

Lawrence Pressman and Francis X. McCarthy
Two actors together here as they are known to 911 fans as the iconic couple Mitchell & Thomas. We see their delightful queer love story and long lives together [see gifset] before they become victims to an incident in episode 2x08, 'Buck, Actually'.
Both actors appeared in the 80s show 'The Love Boat', but sadly - in different seasons.
Lawrence Pressman is an actor and producer known for 'Shaft', '9 to 5' and 'American Pie' among many other films and theatre roles. He was a guest actor on 'Ghost Whisperer' with our JLH, and on 'Mad Men' with Aaron Staton, Christine Estabrook. He played Legate Ghemor, and Krajensky in Star Trek: DS9.
He was a founder member of the Matrix Theatre, LA. His late wife Lanna Saunders played Marie in the long-running US soap 'Days of Our Lives'.

Did You Find It Hard To Breathe? Chapter 51 sneak peek!!
Eddie still wasn’t sure what he felt was love exactly. He had tried comparing it to how he had felt toward Shannon, not in the latter years when she had returned shortly before her death, but in the first ones. The ones before they had gotten pregnant and married and Eddie had run away. The first years of a brand new relationship that were exciting, and overwhelming, and all encompassing.
He had loved her, he was sure of that, but when he thought of those days, the honeymoon period when they wanted to spend every waking breath with each other and couldn’t keep their hands to themselves, he couldn’t liken it to what he felt now. When Shannon had coded in the back of the ambulance, when he had stood over her body and signed for her possessions at the hospital, he had been heartbroken because he had lost the mother of his child, not because he had lost his wife.
When he thought about Buck, thought about the possibility that he might lose him, he felt like his heart would stop at the idea of never seeing him again, never hearing his laugh, never feeling the warmth of his full body hugs.
When he thought of Buck dying, he felt like a part of him would die, too.
You can love someone and not realise it.
It doesn’t matter how you love him, just that you do.
They only ever wanted to go together. That’s love.
Buck had repeated to Eddie the words that the old man, Thomas, had said to him as they had recovered his body. They had stepped away when Thomas had asked for a moment alone with his husband and, thinking about it now, Eddie couldn’t help but wonder if the man had known there and then that he was about to follow. Whether Thomas had known that he couldn’t live without the man he loved by his side.
And he had decided to follow.
They didn’t find it, they made it.

One of the main reasons why I’m not too upset about 911 not showing how Tommy and Buck met is because, from a writers stand point, it would be a good scene for a Tommy Begins episode if we ever get there.
Just based on what I’ve heard people say about how Lou sees the character, and how the writers have been writing him, I think it’s safe to say a lonely upbringing can be an important part of that episode. So I figured their first meeting would be a good key point to see in it, but not just that. A lot of highlights of Tommy’s new connections (it might still be too early to call it family but it can get there) can be montaged like Chimney saving him, him apologizing to Hen (which hopefully also becomes a separate scene from this), him and Eddie and their friendship, and I don’t know what yet but something can be done for Bobby.
And I know a lot of fans who ship Buck and Tommy (and maybe some who don’t, but also want it) would like season 8 to start with a huge disaster that involves Tommy’s unit, and maybe for something to go wrong and we get worried Buck, but I think Tommy getting injured would make better sense if done so close to his Begins episode. Or at least if I was the one writing it that’s what I would do, because now knowing the string theory is out there, and it was done unintentionally it would make sense to play into it, and something about Buck running to Tommy’s side after being crashed into by something to mirror Thomas and Mitchell can lead into the episode.
It could be a life flashing before his eyes moment, but would the writers kill him? We don’t know. Hopefully not though.

Omg that aunt did a fantastic job tho
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was scared of saying it since i saw how you were treated when you started sharing your information. Non everyone is strong like you and can take all that insult and harassment people on both sides are direct to you. I saw someone come to you with information and i said fuck it, maybe anonymously i will be able to do it.
My aunt is a tailor and part of the costume department of tv shows and she worked for a lot of little production but 5 years ago she booked a job for 911: first thanks to Fox and now to ABC because the production liked her job and they wanted to take her and her team to the new network. They don’t stay a lot on set unless there is some particular scene where a shirt or a dress need to be ruined.
So, when she had to dress Oliver for that coffee date, they give her a picture of that old man in his young version how reference. I don’t know if this is because Tim was really intentional with the Invisible String Theory or because they wanted Buck to look “more” queer but this happened and you can interpret it as you want.
Also, since s8 filming started she prepared 5 outfit for him and if i remember correctly one is an elegant one so maybe a date and one is a flight suit so i think he will be featured in the big emergency. I don’t have too much gossip on why and how they are hiding him but my aunt made him a couple of outfits so he is there. And she said that he is a wonderful human being.
Hey! I wanted to answer this asap before things start moving.
I heard something similar about the coffee date outfit but it was never confirmed or denied from my side.
I'd love to talk to you more if you'd like! I'll never reveal people's identities, I get it.

Season 2 of 911 fucks so severely. Like. First, obviously, we have the introduction of Eddie and Maddie and Christopher. The early development of Athena and Bobby's relationship, the beginning of Bobby's friendship with Michael. Maddie and Chimney being all cute besties who aren't ready for more but both know they want it???
the sheer DRAMA and spectacle of the earthquake episodes???? Hen Begins! the TERRIFYING introduction of Doug??? CHIMNEY BEGINS??? heartwrenching Buckley sibling feels!!!! BOBBY BEGINS AGAIN????? and then they top it all off with the truck bombing? I MEAN. and this isn't even touching the truly iconic calls and one-off episodes like Oceans 911, the entire team besides Chimney tripping balls in Dosed, Thomas & Mitchell, the entirety of STUCK!!!
every single character has a great storyline, with perhaps the exception of Hen but she still gets some pretty amazing moments throughout the season (trapped during the earthquake, the whole thing with her dad, Hen Begins as a whole and the backstory we get during Dosed, Ocean's 911). i feel like if i ever say another season is my favorite i would be lying because season 2 is just banger after banger tbh

I might be wrong, but isn't this also the first mlm kiss shared between main characters on 911 total? Like, I know that Thomas and Mitchell kissed once in their little montage but that was very brief, and I think every other male same sex relationship seen on calls has just involved like loving looks and some touches and stuff. But those are side characters only there for five mins tops really and while they can be significant to the plot, what they do is unlikely to be scrutinised because of how little screen time they get.
What's wild is that there have been two other men on the show that are openly queer and neither of them have kissed another man, which is wild. I'll forgive Josh because we only really see him at work and when we didn't he was being assaulted but Michael's entire storyline almost revolved around him coming out as gay and how that affected his life and yet he never kissed either of his boyfriends, not even when he PROPOSED! And don't get me wrong, not everyone likes to kiss their partners and that's perfectly fine, but it just struck me as odd that in his entire time on the show not once was he overtly intimate with his partners.
Either way, it's odd that a kiss between two main male characters has never happened on the show before and that is the second mlm kiss ever but it's great that it's happening at such a pivotal moment and having such a positive impact/reception.
