The X-files: I Want to Believe premiered on July 25, 2008. The second theatrical release came out five years after the end of the first run of the TV series. The original idea was to conclude the alien invasion plot, but when Fox insisted on continueing the X-Files as a TV series, they decided to make the second film as a "monster of the week" plot. The movie was dedicated to Randy Stone, who cast the pilot episode including finding David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson in the leads. While X-Files creator Chris Carter had directed television episodes, this was the first film he directed. The F.B.I. had reached out to former Special Agent Dana Scully (Anderson), who had gone back to being a Medical Doctor, to have her contact her former partner Special Agent Fox Mulder (Duchovny). They promised to clear his record (he had been on the run since X-Files "The Truth" - 2002 ) if he helped ASAC Dakota Whitney (Amanda Peet) find a missing F.B.I. Agent. The reason for wanting Mulder's help was due to his experience with the paranormal as they were being helped by a disgraced priest Father Joseph Crissman (Billy Connolly) who claimed to have visions about the case. Scully and Agent Mosley Drummy (Xzibit) both thought Crissman was a fake. Meanwhile, Scully was busy dealing with a medical sittuation not wanting to give up on Christian Fearon (Marco Niccoli) a child who had been diagnosed with a condition with no proven cure. Besides Mulder and Scully, the only official cameo from the TV series was Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi). However, Chris Carter, Stephen E Miller and Venessa Morley had appeared on the show but as different characters. ("X-Files: I Want to Believe", flm, Event)

Episode 3x10 - Once Upon a Time in the Nest
1) Here is a fantastic example of "the switch" from Duncan to Mitch. His face becomes a million times more expressive and we get a classic Mitch glasses adjustment. BB is amazing.
2) Poor Jamie. I mean, girl is under a tremendous amount of stress. But how messed up is this scene? "You're gonna have to trust me." *aims a gun at his face* On second thought, poor Mitch. He is so confused.
3) Duncan at his finest right here. He knows exactly how to get what he wants and I'm certain there wasn't one person watching who doubted his resolve to follow through with his threat to slice his own throat if Jamie didn't comply. From the look on Jamie's face she knows it, too.
4) I had to include this scene because it was just too funny not to. There they are, wrestling to get control of the remote and then Max shows up. That moment where they freeze and look up at him then promptly resume their fight is one of the best moments of the season. (Note, this gif is so long it was nearly 20MB. I had to compress the hell out of it to get it to fit.)

This week Anna and Laura are joined by Mike from the It's a Hockey Night Podcast to discuss the upcoming hockey season including hot takes such as: should we be worried about Letang? Will Tavares get the C? Is Philly going to win it all? Arizona still has a team?! We also talk player tattoos, Seguin's nipples, whats with all the lions and Auston Matthews is not the king of subtlety.

This is probably my favorite little moment of the entire series. Jamie's step back and pained expression at seeing Mitch with his glasses is just so fantastic and Kristen Connolly absolutely nails it.

Episode 3x06 - Oz is Oz
1) Here we have Mitch doing his best Liam Neeson impression. How did he find out where Clem was? Where did he get that syringe of whatever he injected into that guy’s neck? (Is that guy okay? Do we care?). So many questions here. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy BAMF Mitch, but I need some context in my badassery.
2) Jamie didn’t get to do a lot in this episode other than actually prove to Logan she didn’t kill Leanne and show off some of those tech muscles. Also, I would think a self-dissolving contact lens is not something I would like to have in my eye unless I knew 100% that it would not dissolve in my eye.
3) Poor Dariela. I actually understand both of their viewpoints and kudos to this season for really driving the “parents will do anything for their child” message home. Like, with a hammer. Seriously, I’m pretty sure I have bruises. Stop it, Season 3.
4) Okay, confession time. I totes forgot that he fainted when he saw Abendegos, but like that makes zero sense to me. Sooo, that’s not a thing that happened in my AU. Sadly, that means we did not get this oh so sweet bedside scene. It’s almost a callback to his vision at the beginning of the season but he can still move. And Jamie is real.
