Put On Your Raincoats | Mistress Electra (Costello, 1982)
I'm always down to revisit the wild and woolly world of Shaun Costello, but I found this pretty underwhelming. Not to sound like a scumbag, but if you're going to put it on your poster that your movie "incorporates every fetish and has the most electrifying bondage and discipline scenes [you] have ever shown", one would expect your movie to be at least moderately kinky. I believe this is something Costello cranked out for the Avon chain of theatres, which students of sleaze will know competed by showing the most extreme dirty movies on the Deuce. Sadly, the kink factor here is pretty minimal.
Only one scene has any element of kink, and it's a pretty mild domination scene, although the presence of Marlene Willoughby makes it the highlight of the movie. Willoughby plays a photographer taking erotic pictures of George Payne as he gets dominated by Linda Vale as the titular Mistress Electra until she takes over, and with the precise diction of her dirty talk and her exaggerated raised eyebrow reactions, she's a winning presence as usual. ("Ooh, a cock ring. He must be a cocker spaniel.") And you could say she brings a whole new meaning to getting the shot, if you wanted to practice some Shalitisms. It's also novel to see Payne in a submissive role, when usually in Avon productions he did the shouty scary shtick that he nailed down to a science.
Other than that, this holds some interest for Costello auteurists as you can see elements of his style at play, particularly the way he cuts to stolen music. I guess he really enjoyed around this time Thief, because he uses Tangerine Dream's soundtrack to score the better sex scenes in the movie (both the aforementioned scene as well as another photography-themed threesome involving different performers). You can also see Costello playing with his style in the earlier sex scenes as well, with the red background in the loop and photography scenes, but while the action in the loop scene is pretty spicy, the heat is greatly undercut by the lack of diegetic sound and the constant cutaways to the viewers. Also, if I'm going to complain about the lack of kinkiness, it seems like a waste to cast Jeanne Silver in an Avon porno, use her for a single scene, and not even let her put her most famous feature to use.
You also get the private detective plot, which usually provides a nice seedy foundation for plottier pornos, although Ashley Moore, weirdly jovial narration aside, doesn't make the most memorable private dick, as well as the attempts to tie the plot together with street scenes, although setting these in a park really undercuts the energy level. Also, while there are some good performers here, Rod Pierce as the male lead really sinks the movie with his total lack of charisma. (He does get one pretty good line though. "This is the '80s, the age ofpornography.")
So this is only really of interest for Costello auteurists, although there are plenty of others you should prioritize over this one.

Quick question: Why isn't the Electra Complex called the Myrrha Complex?
The Electra Complex suggests that the daughter is competitive against her mother for the possession of her father, basically the feminine version of the Oedipus complex. But myth-wise, Electra doesn't exhibit any non-familial affection for Agamemnon. She simply plotted revenge against her mother because she killed her father, not for any jealousy reason.
However, Myrrha does fall in love with her father, Cinyras, and even lay with him (whether or not this was caused by Aphrodite). There's a passage in Ovid's Metamorphoses that described Myrrha's passion quite similar to the complex:
"Think of the many sacred ties and loved names, you are dragging to the mire: the rival of your mother, will you be the mistress of your father [...]"
So... I don't know. I think Myrrah Complex is a more fitting name :vvv

Red bikini briefs on the younger man, in a fantasy sequence where the obsessed man pictures the younger man on an erotic crucifix, where he slowly and sensuously pulls the red bikini briefs off the younger man inside a Dutch church.
Foxy Brown (1974) Action. A judge ends up humiliated in a public hallway without his pants. A gang leader is stripped for mutilation (who makes this stuff?!).
Fraternity Row (1977) Lots of guys (including Gregory Harrison) being hazed in briefs. LONG scene at end of movie.
Freejack (1992) Pretty short (yet nice) scene towards beginning of movie with Rene Russo waking Emilio Estevez outta bed. Emilio laying down and walking around in gray Jockeys. Nice shots, but look fast.

French Kiss (1995) Kevin Kline in his underwear in the hotel room when he sleeps on the couch.

Friday the 13th (in some parts) There are some scenes where young men in briefs were killed.
From This Day Forward (1946) Mark Stevens in white boxers and A-shirt, has a marital quarrel with Joan Fontaine.
Full Metal Jacket (1987) For those with boxer fetishes.
Full Monty, The (1997) The hit comedy about a bunch of unemployed guys who become strippers.

I know I'm very late to this compared to everyone here (I'm 30) but I just finished reading the odyssey for the first time and I'm... my heart can't handle it. I already want to read it again. Why did I get to this this late? Anyway, I wanted to ask if you have any recommendations for interesting articles or other books about Odysseus, apart from the Iliad? And Penelope, of course. I just love them. I'm asking you 'cause I saw your posts about Odysseus and Calypso / Circe, and found them very interesting and insightful! Thanks in advance
There's no bad time in your life to read the Odyssey for the first time! I'm so glad you found your way to it and enjoyed it!
In terms of books and articles about the Odyssey, I've been out of the academic world for long enough that I feel like I'm no longer a particularly good source of advice, but I'll toss out a few old favorites:
the film O Brother Where Art Thou - a retelling of the Odyssey set in the Deep South during the Great Depression
the novel the Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood - a feminist retelling of the Odyssey from Penelope's point of view
technically it's more about the Iliad, but Somewhere I Have Never Travelled by Thomas Van Nortwick is a scholarly work that's informed my thinking on Homeric storytelling a lot
And I found some articles on the Odyssey that look fascinating freely accessible (no login needed) on JSTOR! Since some of these are public domain, they may not closely track modern scholarship, but if you're just kinda vibing with the Odyssey right now and are looking for more food for thought on the subject, this ought to get you going in interesting directions.

Also, if you liked the Odyssey, I think you'll love Greek tragedy! I recommend starting with Sophocles' Electra, Sophocles' Oedipus the King, Aeschylus' Oresteia, and maybe Euripedes' the Trojan Women.
Thanks for the ask, and happy reading!

Harmonia I literally downloaded the OSP chibi pic of Harmonia, and I will give you what I had on my clipboard, Harmonia Wikipedia page
In Greek mythology, Harmonia (/hɑːrˈmoʊniə/; Ancient Greek: Ἁρμονία /harmoˈnia/, "harmony", "agreement") is the goddess of harmony and concord. Her Roman counterpart is Concordia. Her Greek opposite is Eris, whose Roman counterpart is Discordia.
Family[edit]
Harmonia and the serpent
According to one account, she is the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite.[1] By another account, Harmonia was from Samothrace and was the daughter of Zeus and Electra, her brothers were Dardanus and Iasion being the founder of the mystic rites celebrated on the island.[2][3]
Almost always, Harmonia is married to Cadmus. With Cadmus, she was the mother of Ino, Polydorus, Autonoë, Agave, and Semele. Their youngest son[4] was Illyrius.[5]
Mythology[edit]
Polynices giving Eriphyle the necklace of Harmonia. Attic red-figure oinochoe, ca. 450–440 BC. Found in Italy.
Those who described Harmonia as a Samothracian related that Cadmus, on his voyage to Samothrace, after being initiated in the mysteries, perceived Harmonia and carried her off with the assistance of Athena. When Cadmus was obliged to quit Thebes, Harmonia accompanied him. When they came to the Enchelii, they assisted them in their war against the Illyrians, and conquered the enemy. Cadmus then became king of the Illyrians, but afterwards he was turned into a serpent. Harmonia, in her grief stripped herself, then begged Cadmus to come to her. As she was embraced by the serpent Cadmus in a pool of wine, the gods then turned her into a serpent, unable to stand watching her in her dazed state.[6]
The cursed necklace[edit]
Harmonia is renowned in ancient story chiefly on account of the fatal necklace she received on her wedding day. When the government of Thebes was bestowed upon Cadmus by Athena, Zeus gave him Harmonia. All the gods honored the wedding with their presence. Cadmus presented the bride with a robe and necklace, which he had received either from Hephaestus or from Europa.[7] This necklace, commonly referred to as the necklace of Harmonia, brought misfortune to all who possessed it.[2] Other traditions stated that Harmonia received this necklace (ὅρμος) from some of the gods, either from Aphrodite or Athena.[8]
Polynices, who inherited the necklace, gave it to Eriphyle, that she might persuade her husband, Amphiaraus, to undertake the expedition against Thebes.[9] Through Alcmaeon, the son of Eriphyle, the necklace came into the hands of Arsinoe (named Alphesiboea in some versions), next into those of the sons of Phegeus, Pronous and Agenor, and lastly into those of the sons of Alcmaeon, Amphoterus and Acarnan, who dedicated it in the temple of Athena Pronoea at Delphi.[10] The necklace had wrought mischief to all who had been in possession of it, and it continued to do so even after it was dedicated at Delphi. Phayllus, the tyrant, stole it from the temple to gratify his mistress, who is married to Ariston. She wore it for a time, but at last her youngest son was seized with madness, and set fire to the house, in which she perished with all her treasures.[11]
Hyginus gives another version. According to him, the thing which brought ill fate to the descendants of Harmonia is not a necklace, but a robe "dipped in crime", given to Harmonia by Hephestus and Hera.[12] The necklace gave peace and held Harmonia's powers in it, which is what made it cursed.
Harmonia is also rationalized as closely allied to Aphrodite Pandemos, the love that unites all people, the personification of order and civic unity, corresponding to the Roman goddess Concordia.[2]

A limerick sequence
How far it is, come, with woe? Who on a Gem, his pow’r away he but caprice or witty, and then, and an angel pure to stay But the dust of live or two smile.
What trace of life he may live every storm piles up. The will soon the foolscap subject, has a tripod in violets. Have reach us out of dust a voice; I prosper.
Give me my grand-dad’s Narrative. And I shall me where I proue. Lurch and sick of power to grace, as beam ends. Even if I would be exprest: o my Electra!

"that follows the Cassandra was not claimed by agamemnon for sexual purposes, but leople don't seem to like that narrative" - can you explain this one a bit further? I kinda get what you're saying but its not something I've really heard before. Sorry if it's actually something obvious and I'm asking a basic question. Thank you for your time
sure sure! i spoke about this in my lectures and it made said when i verbalised it, but if it comes across all warped and muddled in word-form than please just ask me to clarify ASDFGHJKL
OKAY SO. we know that cly wanted to kill aga. it was planned. aeschylus (and to an extent the other tragedians) give us the whole watch-tower-carpet-walking scene that shows that. she WANTED to know when he was coming home to put her plan into action. homer is not so explicit BUT he, again, mentions that it was cly and aeg that killed him implying Some preparation. the two had a plan to execute.
it was not something she planned to do upon seeing aga arrive at mycenea with kassandra.
SO WE HAVE TWO THINGS - it was iphi. pretty black and white. aga had sacrificed their daughter ten years earlier and she spent ten years plotting his murder. did it. credits roll, that's that.
at least that's what the tragedians say. Homer doesn't say WHY. and this is where hyginus comes in and says:
§ 117 CLYTEMNESTRA: Clytemnestra, daughter of Tyndareus and wife of Agamemnon, heard from Oiax, brother of Palamedes, that Cassandra was being brought as a concubine to her house, a false statement Oiax made in order to avenge the wrong done to his brother. Then Clytemnestra, together with Aegisthus, son of Thyestes, planned to kill Agamemnon and Cassandra. They killed him with an axe as he was sacrificing, and Cassandra, too. But Electra, Agamemnon's daughter, rescued her brother, the infant Orestes, and sent him to Strophius in Phocis. Strophius had married Agamemnon's sister, Astyoche.
(disclaimer: hyginus is roman. however. we cannot say for certain he made this up lmfao. there may be something lost that he got this from. a play. a fragment. something from the epic cycle. We Don't Know. so dont come at me with 'UHHH THATS A ROMAN' - i know. but romans lived closer to the greeks than we do. they may have had access to stuff that we have now lost. okay? good.)
this does kinda hold up though. cause palamedes was wronged by his fellow greeks and aga is the leader of said greeks. so this statement does have legs.
SO LET'S SAY homer is right. there is just iphianassa, laodike and chyrso as his daughters. all alive and no iphi (like in the iliad) - why the plot to kill aga? in this timeline of events (that we know of) there is no iphi sacrifice.
THEREFORE. the spreading of a rumour that cly becomes aware of that she THEN concocts a plan to kill aga for makes sense. someone has told her about kassandra (falsely) and she's made her plan with aegisthus. THUS showing that kassandra being taken by aga for sexual purposes as a falsehood.
EXTENDING FROM THAT in Aeschylus, aga tries to get kassandra to acknowledge cly has her mistress or like cly to acknowledge she's now kass' mistress - which means she's there for cly. and that's a theme in TW too. that these trojan women are going back with greek men to serve their wives (like hecuba and penelope). ALSO. the ONLY reference made to kassandra being in aga's bed/sleeping with him etc. comes from cly. she's the only one who seems to be on that wavelength. nobody else is. aga never says it. kass never says it. only cly - she's the only one privy to the rumour. that's why.
ALSO in homer aga is killed at a feast. not in the bath. also also. kass is not killed with aga IN the bath if you wanna do the bath stuff. she is killed separately and then thrown on top of his body. they are Not bathing together. that is a modern sexualisation of the story (cause we love this shit to be sexual for some fuckin reason lmfaooo welp)
elephant in the room - euripides has kassandra make a big show of being a sexual slave to agamemnon when she leaves with him in trojan women. i've said it before, i'll say it again - euripides needs a LOT of context to be understood. he is ..... i dont wanna say projecting but i legit cant think of a better word ... about the war he is currently in.
NOW - am i saying 'aga doesnt suck cause he didn't wanna sleep with kassandra' NO. taking a poor girl from her home. killing her family. u know the spiel. is AWFUL. whether you sleep with her or not ... doesn't matter tbh. BUT it seems to be like concrete that that is what aga wanted and it's not .... that concrete, there is .... explanation for the contrary i suppose. also, people, stop making everything regarding the epic cycle about sex and sexual violence, like who are you? pat fucking barker?
#long post for ts ///#hope this made sense!!! <3333#i always sound so fucking mean lmfao but i just cant#express myself cause im stupid#and when i say 'people dont really like it' i mean like.#people just love to make aga unnecessarily more awful than he is???#and its always sexual???#like how they just gloss over the part were he SAYS he's never slept with briseis????#that just didnt happen apparently????

I’ve always been intrigued by Carlotta Monterey…..
.
“The first time I met O'Neill, I thought him the rudest man I'd ever seen!”
Carlotta…you haven’t met me…I digress… 4 years after their initial meeting she changed her tune…Carlotta had divorced her 3rd hubby — Ralph Barton, who later killed himself blaming his estrangement from Carlotta for his melancholy. O'Neill was recovering from a bout with alcoholism and the deterioration of his marriage to his second wife.
O’Neill was an alcoholic..
“I need you.’ He kept saying. ‘I need you, I need you'—never ‘I love you, I think you are wonderful—just ‘I need you, I need you.’”.. ‘so needy’!!!
She did everything for O’Neill…sorted his finances …was his secretary and typed his manuscripts…
O'Neill wrote ‘Strange Interlude’
and ‘Mourning Becomes Electra,” which he for ever after called “Carlotta's plays”
Both were very possessive… Carlotta more so…she was his wife, mistress, secretary, and nurse…all at once …she also thought there was no room in their marriage for his friends or even their own children!! On their 12th anniversary, …as a tribute to your love and tenderness.”
he gave to Carlotta a work titled
‘Long Day's Journey Into Night’..this autobiographical work caused O’Neill a large amount of thirst…grief and depression…so much so that he said it was only to be published 25 years after his death. A few months after his death she had it published!!! She was strapped for cash… now… I’m wondering why she didn’t ask her step daughter Oona O’Neil CHAPLIN to lend her a dollar or two?
I’m also wondering if she published it for spite as at one point they became …errrr… well their marriage deteriorated…Carlotta's growing suspicion over visits to O'Neill by actress friends was noted and at one point, he went to court to have her confined to a mental institution she then filed suit for separate maintenance, charging extreme cruelty…
They did reunite and I’m sure O’Neill said once more “need you…I NEED YOU!”…
So needy!!
The first 2 pics she’s wearing Cartier…image by Steichen and the caricature is by her second husband the brilliant Ralph Barton.

Bullshit I Made Up With Little to No Justification
So, I wrote a bunch of random paragraphs about various characters, either as headcanons or very short stories.
Tumblebrutus:
Tumblebrutus is the son of Asparagus and an unknown queen. He actually knows his father, because he doesn’t know his mother. Jellylorum’s human assumes he’s part of her litter because of how much he resembles Pouncival. They’re actually cousins. Tumble was born almost a full month before his cousins. He sometimes uses that as an excuse to boss them around. This never ends well for him or anybody.
Plato:
Seven cats are considered kittens, young enough to be attending their first Jellicle Ball. Plato is the oldest of that group and training to be a protector of the tribe. He’s big for his age, and Jellicle cats are usually supposed to be small. He does not appreciate Tumblebrutus pointing this out.
I guess the theme of these two is that Tumblebrutus is a little shit.
Etcetera:
Etcetera hero worships Bombalurina. She might have a bit of a crush on her, but she’s not consciously aware of it. This once led to a bit of an argument with Jemima. When Bustopher Jones was visiting for the Jellicle Ball, all the queens, for some reason, had to stay in one corner while he told everyone about his clubs. Every female kitten had to sit with a chaperone. Electra sat with Jenny, her mother. Etcetera didn’t want to be stuck sitting with Jellylorum, her mother. She convinced Victoria, her sister via adoption, to stay with Jelly while she tried to sit with Bombalurina. Jemima, who may or may not be Bomba’s daughter, claimed the spot Etcetera wanted and she was placed with Tantomile, who didn’t really care either way. But, later that evening, Etcetera stole a spot in Bomba’s dance section and counts that as hanging out with her.
Jemima:
Jemima inherited powers from Macavity, but their personalities are so far apart that no one would ever guess. She’s not entirely aware of the powers that she has. Someday, she’ll probably be similar to Coricopat and Tantomile, though they’re not related to her. As a kitten, she’s somewhat sensitive to telepathic messages, as Old Deuteronomy managed to figure out, and she can receive visions from the Jellicle Moon. She can’t make much sense of anything she learns from her powers yet, so they’re usually not very useful.
Mistoffelees:
No one knows where Mistoffelees got his magic from. He was delivered to Munkustrap’s human family’s doorstep one night and that was that. Most of the tribe, himself included, believe that Bustopher Jones is his father. He’s the only other tuxedo cat known to the tribe. The theory has recently been called into question, because the white patches of Misto’s fur are shrinking. He might become a black cat at some point in the near future. Nobody really questions this because they’re used to Mistoffelees being confusing. Until recently, the tribe wasn’t even entirely sure of his gender. The humans believed him to be a tom and he seemed to agree with them, but then he had those seven kittens. The humans never found out about this. Tugger, after some inspection, which Mistoffelees allowed just to shut him up and definitely not because he enjoyed the attention, found no anatomy that kittens could be birthed from and took to calling him Mr. Mistoffelees whenever he brought him up, so the tribe would remember that he was a tom. Mistoffelees agreed with Tugger’s conclusion, but refuses to admit that Tugger calling him “Mister” is really sweet.
Bombalurina:
Bombalurina idolized Grizabella growing up and never got over how much her hero let her down. When she went off with Macavity, Bomba had at first hoped to find Grizabella and convince her to come back to the tribe. All she found of Grizabella were rumors, most of them false. Bombalurina believed all of them.
Demeter:
Demeter wasn’t raised among the Jellicles. She knew of them and had met some of them, but that wasn’t until she became an adult. She was a purely indoor cat until something happened and she became a stray. She didn’t know much about the world and Macavity found it easy to manipulate her. It was Bombalurina, Macavity’s other mistress, who really taught her how to survive. After escaping Macavity, Bombalurina brought her to her human family, who already had three other cats, but they accepted her anyway. There are five humans in the family and they liked the idea of having a cat for each of them. She is now considered the cat of the adult female of the house. The last one had died, but now there was a new one, and a new cat to go with her.
Pouncival:
Pouncival has a habit of following bad influences. Jellylorum has begun to wonder if he might actually want to be a bad boy. All the tom kittens look up to Tugger, but Pouncival also looks up to Mungojerrie, who enjoys teaching him things that he’s not supposed to know, including several swear words. He taught said words to Tumblebrutus and Etcetera. Jerrie also told him a bunch of stories about his adventures in the criminal underworld, so he now knows how to get away with various petty crimes, a bunch of tips when it comes to mating with queens, and how it’s possible to mate with other toms, along with some tips about that as well. This information was also spread to Tumblebrutus and Etcetera, who naturally wanted to know every single detail. Mungojerrie is not allowed in Jellylorum’s den.
Victoria:
Victoria is adopted. She lives in Jellylorum’s den and was raised with Pouncival, Tumblebrutus, and Etcetera. Her human family is very wealthy and their last cat was some kind of show cat. Jellylorum seems to believe that this makes Victoria some kind of feline royalty and she was raised like a princess. Munkustrap has also taken to treating her like she might be in the Deuteronomy family, though if she was, he wouldn’t know. Victoria, though naturally graceful and ladylike, doesn’t really care about any of this. She’s kept under more supervision than Etcetera and Jellylorum says that that’s because she’s different, but Victoria has no idea how or why. The other kittens don’t treat her as different. She has a pretty collar and she’s a good dancer, so the other girls sometimes envy her a little, but, at the end of the day, she’s a fairly ordinary young queen.
Jellylorum:
Jellylorum’s human is a man who lives alone with his cats. He considers Jelly to be his best friend. Despite this, there’s a lot about her life that he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know that she has a den in the garden where her stray father and brother live. When she brought four kittens into the house, he didn’t know that only two of them were biologically hers. He adopted and named them all. He thought Victoria looked regal and named her after Queen Victoria. He also had no idea that Victoria already had an owner somewhere else. He named the two toms Percival and Brutus. Their mother sort of renamed them after their habits of pouncing and tumbling. Etcetera was the fourth one and the human didn’t seem as interested in her, so he named her Etcetera to mean the end of the list. Jellylorum didn’t challenge this, because she thought the name sounded pretty. She sometimes wonders if Etcetera’s troublemaking is the result of a sense of inferiority from being named like that. Then she remembers that Pouncival is just as much of a troublemaker as his sister. If it’s not clear by now, Jelly’s life pretty much revolves around her family. She prefers it that way.

"A-Aaah...~"
Riley's hips obediently began to grind against Electra's hand the moment the brunette had felt her taller, soon-to-be lover had snaked her way between the petite woman's legs. Oh, how she wanted to cum again...But, the other was oh so cruel in her absolute refusal to give the artist her release, instead pulling away and licking Riley's love juices off of her fingers like it was some kind of show...!
...Not that she didn't like it, though. The sight had only made Riley even more aroused, juices flowing down her thighs as she looked up and locked eyes with her future mistress. Notably, she not once commented on her own mix-up...But, then again, it didn't seem to bug her at all with much more exciting things on the horizon.
Unfortunately...Riley hadn't had her fill of being a brat just yet, giggling and undressing to the point of leaving herself in just her panties.
"Mmn...~ Why don't you make me go all the way then, huuuuuh~? I might not feel like it if you don't.~"
A blatant lie. The petite woman's arousal was all but obvious, even to the blind...She just wanted to test her luck, see how far she could push before being punished. And, given the playful glint in Riley's eye as she gave a cheeky wink...
...She had every intention of giving in once she'd had her fun. Letting the other fuck her brains into a fine mush, hopefully even making her come back for more...To the brunette, nothing could be more exciting than finally having someone that'd put up with her bratty habits.
"Oh no no cutie, I'm the one who'll be calling you pet this evening~ And, if you don't obey, well, maybe I won't give you this cock you've been craving so much~"
This, this was what Electra had been waiting for for what felt like an eternity, made all the sweeter by her apparent battiness that was now showing through. She now had Riley completely to herself, no one to interrupt, just her and her soon to be fuck partner. But first thing first, she had to make sure Riley knew exactly what her place was, after all, Electra did so enjoy making brats like her beg for more.
In the blink of an eye, one of Electra's hands was between the brunette's legs, she wanted to feel how wet Riley was. Her fingers skillfully navigated their way into her underwear and began to softly explore, but only enough to make the smaller woman squirm, it wouldn't do to let Riley cum too soon after all. Once she was satisfied that her partner was indeed already dripping wet, she pulled the hand away and licked her fingers clean, making a display of it as she did so.
"Mmm, just as sweet as expected~ Now, strip for me"

'Me', 'Gaston' and 'Be Our Guest' are all predominantly missing and recording stopped for some time after 'Gaston', which created a little jump in the timeline to where Maurice gets thrown out of the tavern. If you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to contact me! Like I said I would love any cats bootleg- especially the older ones in English and Dutch from like the 80′s till the 00′s. I am also looking for more diversity in my list- and I’m also looking for the classics- Dear Evan Hansen, Falsetto’s, some more Phantom Of the Opera, Mean Girls, Legally Blond, etc...

@sentofight sent: your thoughts on how the guna leads his life in the rf2/3/4/5 (if he lives till 5lmao) timeline. like would he be still a farmer or try something else, maybe become an adventurer?
So! Thanks to Tides of Destiny and RF4 we have two crumbs of information to go off of with direct connection to what may have happened with Raguna, with RF4 giving a more likely outcome...
To start off, I’m more or less canon divergent because as a standard I write Raguna safe at home living his life on the farm either in Kardia or Trampoli. In canon though, given the events of RF4 and what Ethelberd was trying to do, it’s very likely that Raguna lived in hiding! When a crazy ruler is carrying out a literal genocide of your people you don’t stick out in the open. So I think through the decades once Berdman starts his hunt, Raguna not only goes into hiding... but leads him on a goose chase! Something, anything to keep him from finding as many other Earthmates as he can, however effective that may be.
So Raguna, in canon timeline, becomes a traveler. Going from place to place around Norad and probably helping as he can. Cecilia, in RF2, speaks with some sadness when she thinks of Raguna to the protag after he reminds her of them. This could be taken to mean that he’s dead by that era (I believe RF2 and RF4 chronologically are the furthest just behind RF5) or that she simply can’t see him anymore. I’d prefer the latter, obviously... Mist somewhat shows up in RF4 as a faceless NPC, Mistress Trupin, and it’s my belief that Raguna and she do not marry.
In Tides of Destiny there is some chatter during the story, one of the girls speaks of the nature of the dual protagonist’s bodies and returning to form, relating it to a pair of girls who also were divided and became whole again with combined memories. This relates to the bachelorette Iris, where the Blanche and Noir forms become one... and happens before you can marry them. 👀 So it could be said, that Raguna canonically marries a vampire.
Of course. ToD also has Tabatha coming to stay with Electra and Maerwen. Given some dialogue from Tabatha saying she wouldn’t leave Bianca’s side until she had someone to take care of her, so too does it mean that Raguna could have married her?! Or he’s a single pringle. I don’t think he married Eunice or Rosetta, as they started a tourist thing together based on dialogue from Anette.
Anyhow.... as for Raguna himself- on the path of a wanderer I think he’d miss the quiet life he led before. But would accept this path too, if it meant he was helping others or protecting what powers he holds. After what happened with Terrable he’s all too familiar with the powers of an Earthmate. Keeping that safe would be paramount if he knew someone was seeking to abuse it. After the events of RF4, if Raguna is still alive... maybe he’d continue traveling all things considered. The sort of journey where he may not be able to return home and enjoy things the same?
It’s certainly interesting to think about, but of course I don’t utilize it with my portrayal of Raguna, not yet anyway. I’ve considered writing up a verse (still with him in his 20s) where he’s on the run however, and keeping his identity as an Earthmate a secret. Which means no farming, and no being super broken. 😔
(quietly tagging @runefactorynonsense if they want to chip in any of their thoughts?)

I watched blood of zeus and the only thing I can say is!
ELECTRA DESERVED BETTER!!
She deserved a life where she could see BOTH of her sons grow up together and be a badass Queen that took over her abusive husband!!
Not become one of Zeus many mistresses and have Hera after her. Having to hide in a village with clouds hiding them from Hera. But gets treated badly because she was seen as a whore and her son was seen nothing more but a bastard. Them after many years get killed by her own son who had become a monste.
So Electra deserved bette them this!
