Japanese QL Corner
We've suddenly got an abundance of shows with dark themes and adult vibes, with a bit of a mixed bag on their execution. These are available for weekly streaming on Gaga unless otherwise noted.
Smells Like Green Spirit
Tumblr media
A fan subber came through and we are now able to watch this show on a slight delay from the airing in Japan. This first episode was great, but be warned that this is not a light watch. This show is less a full blown romance and more of a queer coming of age story with a rather bleak worldview that will likely include a romance subplot. Our story centers on Mishima, a young person who is questioning their gender and just trying to live while being constantly targeted by school bullies. The bullying in this show is graphic and violent and Mishima has already been assaulted and targeted by creeps in the first episode, so take care and ask for content warnings if you need them. I have read the manga so I'm aware of what's in store--if you would like to know what to expect before watching, feel free to ask.
Happy of the End
CWs: Assault, attempted murder, blood, death, forced fellatio/rape (against a main character, graphically depicted more than once), revenge porn, sexual coercion and exploitation, stabbing, suicide attempt, suicide, violence
We have arrived at the end of this story, and it did not quite come together for me. I liked a lot of what it was doing; the relationship between Chihiro and Haoren giving them both a reason to persist despite their general apathy toward survival was compelling, and the actors gave strong performances in some very difficult scenes. I thought the show had a strong sense of style and tone, as well. But for me, it crossed the line into over the top trauma porn one too many times, seeming to revel in making the characters suffer and piling on unnecessary traumas that were depicted quite graphically, making the show deeply unpleasant to watch. And in the end, it suddenly veered into a happy ending that felt like a mismatch for the rest of the story, which was achieved via a time skip and Chihiro and Haoren healing offscreen despite their circumstances only getting worse over the course of the show. @bengiyo laid out why that ending felt like the show pulling its punches, and I agree. I can appreciate a story that has an established bleak worldview telling us about a specific time in these characters' lives where they mattered to each other, but slapping that unearned epilogue on it just makes the whole thing feel like torture porn followed by cheap consolation. It didn't feel honest. I don’t recommend watching this one unless you are pretty comfortable with gratuitous sexual violence.

We’re zipping along nicely, with this week’s episode mostly focused on the case that Haruto helped Shiba win. That courtroom scene was wild. I’m intrigued by all the advances and the early confession from Haruto, because as we and Shiba well know, the man is a con. What’s his angle, and why does he think romancing Shiba is the way to get it? Whatever he’s after, I think Shiba should give in because look at him!
Chaser Game W 2

This week we met Itsuki’s first love Yoreum, who is now a famous Korean idol and still hung up on her from back when she did a homestay with Itsuki’s family. She did a livestream from Itsuki’s cafe in the special spot where Itsuki and Fuyu like to canoodle; jealousy and dramatics ensued. Then suddenly we were doing an elevator rescue? Idek. I’m rooting for the new girl to break this couple up to be honest.

hey!! i'm running a slips and sgrafitto workshop at my job this weekend and i'm wondering if I could use the pics you shared of the fish mugs in my examples slideshow. (and if so, an online shop or social media list that I could link to!) Found you through the marinebiologyshitposts account and am super in love with your work!!!
Hi @weirdshrimphours -- I would be 500% honoured to be included in your workshop, though I have to also note that my fish mugs don't involve any slip or sgraffito (it's more of a mishima technique, but the pieces are engraved while leather hard & bisque-fired, then I slop on watery underglaze & wipe back with a sponge before adding more underglaze details to the design).
If you're just using them as visual inspiration, that's super cool and thrilling (I'm simply the sort of pottery nerd who wants to be specific about technique all the dang time ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧ )
I do have some actual sgraffito pieces in my past as seen in my sgraffito tag & I want to do way more, but it requires more time & planning than I've been capable of the last few batches :(
Either way, super happy to have my work used as examples/inspiration & I appreciate you sharing my info with the workshop as well (my most active social media other than here is definitely insta, which I think I have linked)!

Before you get into Utena, it should be mandatory that you watch at least one Takarazuka performance, the 90s Sailor Moon show, Mädchen in Uniform (the 1930s version), Twin Peaks, Dezaki’s adaptation of Riyoko Ikeda’s Rose of Versailles and Dear Brother, as well as the very first Gundam anime. You should be at least a little familiar with Hesse and Mishima and Greek Theater.
(I’m joking, but not entirely)
Utena can appear to stand on its own, and yet it owes so much to these different sources, drawing from them and sometimes (often) (always) responding to them directly. While you can enjoy the anime without being familiar with any of these other works, it becomes even greater once you understand all these references and the meaning they carry.
Utena is an incredibly rich, multilayered work of art (in that way, it’s kind of like onions and ogres). I get the sense that many fans, especially younger people, don’t fully appreciate the different levels it operates on, but it’s all there! You just have to learn different ways of looking at it, and when you do, I think you’ll love Utena even more.

Rose's Day of Asks - the sequel
Hello! Hope you're having a good day. So, a lot shows have been ending recently and not all were great. But there are two new jbls airing right now and I was wondering what are your initial thoughts on Doku Koi and Smells Like Green Spirit? Also were you excited to see him again?
Tumblr media
Rose🧡
I have been meaning to write about both shows, but life and work obligations have killed my writing time. I appreciate the ask, so I'll jot my initial thoughts down.
Love is Like a Poison
Tumblr media
We're three episodes in at this point, and I'm having a lot of fun with this one. I like how Shiba is in his own genre in his head as some sort of law drama, and I also love that he knows Haruto is a scammer. I absolutely loved the line above, and the timing of everything in this show is so unexpected and fresh. I like the layers of games going on. I like that Shiba thinks he can win against Haruto, and I like the tension of the other lawyer sussing them out.
That being said, this show is so sexually charged that when it inevitably does something ridiculously chaste instead of releasing the tension, I will be complaining loudly about it. I'm quite over the current run of Japanese BLs being super shy about sex except when it's for assault or breakups.
Smells Like Green Spirit
Tumblr media
I gotta be honest... @lurkingshan was waiting for me to react, and I was so caught up in the tension of being clocked in the 90s that I didn't even notice Kaji Masaki right away because the characters are so different. I have failed my man, because they gave us a whole fantasy sequence and everything. In my defense, I was swept away by how correct it felt for Mishima's tastes as a queer Japanese person (based on my conversations with gay Japanese men), and also my general repulsion at romances between teachers and students.
I genuinely do not think we should be watching this as a romance at all, and we should probably look at it as a difficult coming of age drama. The show led with bullying and talk of death on purpose, so I am watching this one as a queer drama and not a BL romance.
I liked Abe Alan's look in this, and I'm hoping for a memorable performance from him and Kaji.
Thanks for the ask!

Yuuki Mishima was a liar, through and through.
There were truths scattered into his lies, yes. The Phantom Thieves were incredible, and he owed them everything. Those were truths. He liked Akira and Ryuji. Those were truths.
But what weren’t truths... The lies outweighed them all.
He was fine. He didn’t need help. Everything was okay, don’t worry.
Lies. Lies and deception. Yet somehow, no one ever questioned it. Before Kamoshida’s heart had been changed, he had been told by everyone he was a terrible liar. Every emotion, every thought, was written on his face. It was as though he had donned a mask, hiding his real face. His real self.
When had he gotten to the train station?
It seemed more and more frequent that he lost entire chunks of time to his own thoughts. It was unsettling, how often he found blanks in his memory when he knew there ought to have been something there. Nevertheless, he took a breath.
Trains had always fascinated him, ever since that accident back in spring. It intrigued him how easily destruction could be wrought by a machine, how easily one’s life could be cut short.
How did it feel to suffer a mental shutdown? Was it painful? Did the victims know what was happening to them?
What did they think of in their last moments?
“Yuuki! You good, man?”
Ryuji’s voice startled him out of his thoughts. Once again, he found himself losing chunks of time to himself.
“I’m okay. What’s up?” Mishima forced himself to answer, wrenching his gaze away from the tracks.
“You were just sorta... Standin’ there. You looked like... Eh, never mind. Hey, wanna come over to LeBlanc with me? The others’ll be there.”
Mishima pretended not to feel sick. He knew what Ryuji was about to say.
He looked like he was about to walk onto the tracks.
“Sure, yeah. We can go to LeBlanc together. Sounds like fun,” he answered, glad at least that he didn’t have to go home.
Ryuji grinned, grabbing Mishima’s hand and leading him onto the train. Mishima pretended not to notice the way Ryuji seemed to almost hug him when they climbed on.
It was loud at LeBlanc.
Every Phantom Thief was there, chatting and laughing.
Mishima silently sat in the farthest booth, reserved and quiet. He didn’t belong there with them, with this tight-knit group of friends. He was just support, a figure in the shadows. He wasn’t a Phantom Thief. Just a Phan-Boy.
He could pretend all he wanted that he was one of them, that everyone appreciated him and his work. But he knew they were their own group, and he was on his own. He would always be on his own.
“Hey, kid. Want something to drink?” A man asked. Mishima looked up from the table, nodding.
“Uh, sure. What do you have?”
“Water and coffee. We also got curry, if you’re hungry,” the man said, and Mishima sighed quietly.
“Coffee, please. Any kind, I don’t mind,” he replied, and the man nodded, disappearing behind the counter ro work.
The Thieves took no notice of him, content to simply continue talking among themselves. Mishima was content to stick to himself.
He sighed. He would always be by himself, though he didn’t think he entirely minded.
No, he decided. He didn’t mind being alone.
THE MISHI!!!! love the way he has this theme of lies. putting on a false self. he is the moon arcana after all, a card of deception and masking your true face. he looks down on himself because he thinks he's not as important as the phantom thieves. they do so much more than him and he's just a fan. he cant do anything to help. all hes doing is making a website to spread the love for them. he's nothing compared to them because its not like he can go into the metaverse like them. GOD GIVE HIM A PERSONA RIGHT NOW!!!! AND MAKE HIM STOP COMPARING HIS WORTH TO OTHERS!!!!!

How do you think each character would react to having fans/a fandom. I feel like all of them except like. The already famous ones would be utterly horrified
(Realistically I think all of them would be horrified that people enjoyed or related to their personalities when they were in a death game. However, let's pretend they would be chill with it for a minute because I want to write headcanon's about how the YTTD characters would handle having fans.)
Sara Chidouin - Sara is really flustered. She's embarrassed about how many people know about her, and mostly worried that they've seen her do something embarrassing. She tries to keep the weird girl energy in check around strangers. Unfortunately.
Joe Tazuna - Joe thinks it's cool and is a bit giddy about it. He thinks it's so neat how many people like his personality and he does like to brag to Sara that he's famous. (Even though she's famous as well. Which he's quick to admit to!)
More Undercut
Gin Ibushi - Gin is quick to tell his Mom about his newfound fame and the power of stardom rushes to his head before you could even say "Spa Penguin."
Keiji Shinogi - Keiji's first reaction is "Why?" but then he shrugs it off. Having that many eyes on him makes him nervous.
Alice Yabusame - Alice is shocked that he has a fandom. If anyone would have fans he assumed it would be Reko. He doesn't really know what to do with the information and suddenly feels like a socially awkward young man on stage again.
Reko Yabusame - A part of Reko thinks it's cool. Another wishes she'd be more well known for her music instead of a death game. She appreciates everyone who takes an interest in her craft rather then her predicament.
Nao Egokoro - Nao yells about it because how is she able to handle THAT? Mishima and Sara calm her down and eventually convince her to embrace it.
Kazumi Mishima - Mishima is very self conscious very quickly. He wants to set a good example for his fans and wants to make sure his behavior is worthy of someone with eyes on them.
Q-taro Burgerberg - Q-Taro is shocked by how flustered he feels. He wishes people didn't see him at his worse, but is still really thankful that people liked him anyways and were understanding to his actions. Eventually he becomes excited about this because it means more people are cheering him on.
Kai Satou - Kai is a little freaked out but mostly doesn't acknowledge the situation in hopes it'll go away. He's not comfortable with how many people know he's an assassion.
Kanna Kizuchi - Kanna is incredibly touched that so many people appreciate her. She has such a low view of herself that it's amazing to hear about the amount of fans who love her character.
Shin Tsukimi - Shin spirals into paranoia. He doesn't like that people were watching him nor that they know him now. It makes him feel watched, and he only needs to find one meta blog overanalyzing his every action to loose his mind.
Dolls
Ranmaru Kageyama - Ranmaru handles it in the most mentally unhealthy way possible. He starts viewing everyone who likes him as a friend, and quickly develops unhealthy parasocial relationships.
Naomichi Kurumada - Naomichi is really excited because this is really going to help his career. He starts "casually" trying to show off his strength just to make a point about how good one of his matches would be.
Anzu Kinashi - Anzu is overwhelmed immediately. She doesn't know how to handle so many people having eyes on her, so she tries to run away. She hits the wall and knocks herself out.
Mai Tsurugi - Mai bats her eyelashes and puts on the most charming smile possible before promoting her bakery.
Shunsuke Hayasaka - Shunsuke gives a very sheepish and nervous "Thank you?" while hoping that people won't think about him cursing out Sara too much.
Hinako Mishuku - Hinako is mostly nervous that people know her secret now. She'd rather have kept that under wraps.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAIII, Idk if you do like, Tekken for requests but if so - can I get regressor Jin Kazama headcanons? :0 if you don't do that fandom that's totally okay!!
Tumblr media
Even when age regressing, Jin's potential as a martial artist would be apparent. he'd have an intense desire to train, trying to emulate his mother, Jun Kazama, and his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima. He'd be seen mimicking martial arts moves with surprising accuracy, often sparring with imaginary opponents, or even asking Jun to teach him the basics
•Even when little, Jin might already carry a strong sense of responsibility, particularly towards protecting others. Often being protective of his mother, and other people he cares about. He’d insist on accompanying his mother during her work with environmental protection, seeing it as his duty
•Given the dark and violent history of the Mishima family, Jin might suffer from nightmares, even when age regressing. These could be vague, haunting dreams that foreshadow the Devil Gene or the conflicts he would face when big. He might have moments of fear and confusion after waking up, seeking comfort from his plushies
•Reflecting his mother Jun’s love for nature, young Jin might have a deep appreciation for animals and the environment. He could spend hours outside, playing in forests or near lakes, and be particularly gentle with animals
•In his regressed state, Jin might occasionally exhibit bursts of unexpected power, possibly tied to the Devil Gene. He might be confused and scared by these outbursts, accidentally breaking objects or injuring someone during a tantrum or a sparring session. These incidents would likely leave him feeling guilty and confused, especially when he doesn't fully understand what’s happening
•As an age regressor, Jin might find comfort in clinging to things that remind him of simpler times—like his mother's old scarf or a small trinket she gave him as a child. He might carry these items around with him, especially during times of stress, as they provide a sense of safety and security
•In his regressed state, Jin might speak in a more childlike manner, using simpler words or even baby talk. He might also engage in activities like coloring, playing with toys, or watching cartoons. This behavior would serve as a way for him to distance himself from the pressures of adulthood and his traumatic past
•Jin would likely become very attached to a trusted caregiver, seeking comfort, reassurance, and guidance. This could be someone like Ling Xiaoyu, who has a naturally caring and protective demeanor. He might hold her hand, ask for hugs, or look to her for approval and comfort
•Given his traumatic background, Jin might be particularly sensitive to conflict or violence. He might shy away from loud noises, aggressive behavior, or anything that reminds him of the violence in his life. In these moments, he might seek a quiet space or the comfort of his caregiver to calm down
•Age regressed Jin might thrive on routine and structure, finding comfort in knowing what to expect next. He could have a set bedtime, specific meals he likes to eat, or particular rituals that help him feel safe, such as a nightly story before bed or a favorite blanket that he insists on having with him
•Even though he’s a skilled fighter, regressed Jin might be reluctant to engage in combat. The idea of hurting others could be particularly distressing to him in this state, as he’s more focused on being safe and cared for than on conflict
•Jin might have moments where he feels overwhelmingly tired or just wants to rest, seeking out a quiet corner or asking his caregiver to cuddle with him. Napping might become a regular part of his routine, helping him recharge and maintain his emotional equilibrium
•In his regressed state, Jin would find joy in the simple things, like enjoying his favorite snacks, playing with toys, or watching the clouds pass by. These activities help ground him and provide a sense of peace, away from the complexities and dangers of his adult life
Tumblr media
If you're in the basic criteria , are DSMP fans, vivziep0p fans , h0tel/h3lluva b0ss fans, Owl h0use fans, St4r butterfly fans, Ghibli fans, ddlg/abdl blogs, nsfw/k!nk blogs, anti-agere blogs, or anti Christians/Christianity blogs : just dont interact !

thoughts on Tekken8 so far ?
Not too many, I have mostly mixed feelings on Tekken stuff but:
Tumblr media
Okay this rules, this is a killer fucking idea for a fighting game story mode. I was actually just thinking the other day about how a lot of modern fighting games with big story modes can't really integrate the tournament structure into the story, so it's either not there or it becomes a schrodinger's tournament. But here there's no mistaking it, there is a King of Iron Fist tournament being held and fighters the world over are invited to join with their lives and with the lives of their ENTIRE COUNTRIES riding on the line. This rules, this fucking rules, I'm pissed Street Fighter didn't do this first because this is the most M.Bison idea that is also a way better plot than anything M.Bison ever did, fuck yeah.
I've heard this described as Tekken doing the Cell Games and having never watched Dragon Ball I'll have to take their word for it.
Don't care about Jin, never have really, but I am at least marginally curious as to how they'll square "Jin you are the light and hope of this world you are the hero of everything you must save us all" and "you totally fucking killed millions of people for no reason with that WW3 stunt dude". Love that Kazuya throws this in his face like, you weak little shit, you think you're putting me down? You think YOU have some kind of body count? Well it's just gonna keep growing watch this *BWOOOOOM
Tekken has spent a loooot of games running in a loooot of circles around the Mishima bloodline drama so this game promising to blow things out of proportion, with Heihachi dead (so far) and Kazuya cutting loose and the entire world seriously on the line, well okay that has my interest.
Tumblr media
Gotta be honest folks, up until now I actually hated Azucena. Decent design, Peruvian representation is extremely rare and I was super on board for that, really liked for a beat how her fighting style's meant to abuse Tekken's 3D space with a lot of dodging and swaying... but then the character started talking and, oh great, she only talks about food, she's a gimmick character that only talks about her gimmick, here comes the next annoying latin-american stereotype that the gringos just find sooo charming and sexy and funny, here comes the next El Fuerte/Laura/Zarina, and all my interest died.
And then the latest story trailer revealed that she's happily teaming up with the G Corporation (and by extension Kazuya, you know, the guy currently raining fire and murder on the entire planet) because they make for "better brand optics for my coffee" and, huh. Well. Turns out she's a total piece of shit! The "beloved for her innocent personality" thing was a dead giveaway looking at it now. Turns out she's a business major cracking winks and poses while tanks and soldiers steamroll the land and people around her. You hear a lot of stories growing up here about plantation owners being cutthroat ghouls and I must admit, it's pretty great seeing that as the twist on a typically obnoxious Disney inclusivity cartoon person, feels very topical. Maybe it is just a rehash of Lucky Chloe's twist but Lucky Chloe wasn't that inspired to begin with where as this feels a bit more thought out. I expect to be ultimately dissappointed but it sure got me almost kinda liking her a bit.
Big year for evil women in fighting games.
Feels like Tekken was just bound to have a Nick Fury at some point with other fighting games elevating characters to that position, but it is pretty weird that this a thing, right? I guess when they're going more into world-threatening stakes and characters teaming up being treated like an Avengers gathering you kinda need a Nick Fury or several to glue that nonsense together. Anyway, Victor's pretty cool. Kinda shocked that he's the first French character in Tekken apparently.
It's not easy to make me like espionage-themed characters in fighting games but he's got enough style to him that I appreciate. He's just Vincent Cassel if he was a John Wick guy with a weird Final Fantasy sword but that's not like a bad combo by any means, really just seems like Harada really wanted to put a guy he likes from da movies in there. It's the Kojima impulse but hey, if it works and the voice acting isn't terrible (like a certain other studio, seriously how do you manage to get such lackluster material out of J.K Simmons doing Omni-Man), I'm cool with it.
Tumblr media
I'm not too sure what to think of Reina? I feel like that's gonna be entirely dependant on her role in the game, because the other two are fairly throwaway characters where as her they seem to be putting a lot of stock in. I kinda like her design although I appreciate it better in fan art that lets her actually emote and look mean, the in-game face is just way too dull for what she's doing. I like the ego she's got and that she can back it up, that she's this new mystery newcomer with potential arriving to shake up the scene. I think a lot about her would be very generic and forgettable if it wasn't backed up by her mean punk personality and power, which I really appreciate. She kinda feels like if Asuka wasn't a joke. I'm just curious as to what her actual role is gonna be, and while I don't think she's gonna be a full blown villain the way Kazuya is, I'm gonna be pretty dissappointed if she just immediately slides into being a hanger-on hero. So I'm just waiting for more on her with cautious optimism.
I hope Heihachi never comes back because A: it's just wrong to have him without Unsho Ishizuka to voice him, and B: I hope they never ruin the humor of "Yeah he's dead dead but he has at least 20 bastard children all over the world and at least one of them is gunning for the throne so if you thought he was done causing problems or that the Mishima Bloodline would end with Jin, lmao"

{ I know I can't speak for anyone else, or characters in general, but thinking about Xiaoyu's connections with the Mishima family (primarily Heihachi and Jin) and what she may think/feel about them (especially considering the T8 story).
I've always thought that Xiaoyu had a soft spot for Heihachi, simply because he was the one that gave her Panda, allowed her to stay in his estate, go to his school, and even in turn meet Jin and Miharu for that. I truly think that she believed Heihachi was kind and she appreciated him for that. She didn't know about how bad of a person he was until T4, and it's stated she started distrusting him and the Mishima Zaibatsu.
What I've always done, at least in my own personal headcanon, is that despite this, Xiaoyu felt conflicted about the man. She knew he had done terrible things, hurt people closest to her and even his own family, yet he oddly looked out for her. She could have thoughts that maybe it was just for his own benefit, to he cared for her for some unknown reason. Xiaoyu still didn't trust him, not anymore, but those thoughts of him when she was 16 and having fun at his school where she met her closest friends can't be suddenly erased in her head.
It's kind of why I thought she would feel a bit sad hearing about him dying, even if she also thinks that it was only a matter of time. The whole entire cycle of violence could also be a reason why she feels sad about his death as well (or even knowing Wang's connection to the Mishima family before her). But even with these feelings, I don't think she will end up giving his actions a pass either, and this easily goes into Jin too.
Now, I totally understand some people's "concerns" about how T8 seemed to give Jin's actions back in T6 a pass. He started an entire war and caused so much pain and suffering to people around the world due to it all. But also, T6 was insane the more I look back at it and I have my own gripes with the story in that game (mainly about Xiao's portrayal) but that's not important right now lololol.
Anyway, point is, I get it. However, I wasn't actually mad about how they went about the story in T8. I don't think they were making it out to be that suddenly people would forgive Jin, ESPECIALLY those directly affected by the war (like Miguel. 1000000000% certain he won't ever forgive Jin and that's fair). I don't think the world will just suddenly forgive him, so even if some people in the story have, I don't think it's suddenly broadcasting that EVERYONE will forgive him. Some people seem to think that's the case but I digress.
Moving on, this brings me to Xiaoyu and her feelings for Jin. Now she knew him back in school, before everything went down. They spent time together and became friends, and I think she's seen a side of him that the world has never been able to see since everything got worse after T3.
So with everything that's happened after that, Xiaoyu mainly knew that side of Jin, not the one that created a whole entire world war. It could be considered her judgment being clouded (honestly wouldn't be surprised if people said this to her, or even things like "you never truly knew him, this was probably in him the entire time"), but she still stuck to her guns.
However, I'm also certain she had her doubts too, wondering if she was wrong about Jin or was this another instance of making wrong judgements about people, just like how Heihachi was. Even with Xiaoyu being reassured that Jin was still the same person she knew and loved deep down, she also couldn't just ignore the war and everything that came from it. She states it in T8 anyway, saying she was scared over the years that Jin wasn't the person she actually knew and had to find out the truth for herself.
I personally don't see her excusing the impact it had on people and the world, including herself. Love would not cloud her feelings of judgment either, but I do think that she would be by his side in an attempt to help him along his struggles after everything that's happened. She also won't blame anyone, or make excuses, for getting mad at his actions either.
I believe Xiaoyu is loyal to people she cares about, but she's not stupid. Again, maybe it could be considered a weakness of hers and she still wonders about the choices she makes, but she also chooses to stick with her gut feeling unless something proves her wrong otherwise.
It reminds me of her trusting Claudio, and even when he admitted his plan of intending to use her, she clearly accepted his apology and still showed care to the man and appreciated his help.
The TDLR is; people/situations are complicated but Xiaoyu wants to open up and trust the good in people regardless and help if she's able to.

Your Turn to Die characters but they're my favorite Vocaloid producers and not all of them are there GO
Kikuo - Shin. Something about him just has such a Kikuo vibe. Is it perhaps his unbearable melancholy? Perhaps the autism energy? Maybe it's just because I'm a Shinnie. Who knows.
PinocchioP - Anzu. Pop and fun, sure, but also. W. What. What is Psychedelic Smile. What is Schevengingen. Why is Whatever Yama-sama Says Goes so sad. Why does Aimaina hit me directly in the soul. Why must love be pain. I think she'd enjoy Pino-san's work.
Maretu - Reko. I don't think I need to elaborate much, just go listen to Aishiteitanoni and White Happy, maybe a little Taste of Cockroach I trust you to get where I'm coming from.
Utsu-p - Alice. He definitely wishes he could pull off drum lines for Utsu-p's music, poor thing. He's got that screaming against the world, looking for connection and being unable to find it energy.
Sasakure.uk - Nao. There's a lot. Just, a lot. You think you know an artist and then they turn around and pull out Åmara (The Great Intelligence) and you're hooked. Vague in such a compelling way. The more recent the discography the more fascinating it is. Like Nao!
Monaca.factory - Kanna. It's childlike and soft vibes, I think it fits her perfectly.
23.exe - Jou. Just, positive vibes with more below the surface than you'd think. That's him baybee
Ferry - Sara. The fucked up teenager energyyyyy, the fucked up traumatized teenager energyyyyy plEASE. You cannot tell me that 100 Epitaphs isn't Sara-coded. You cannot tell me that Sara and Sanya aren't so very similar. Plus The World is Smiling on Me UGH it has Sara written all over it, anyways.
Siinamota - Safalin. Something about the "Saa" in Q makes me think of her.
Nashimoto-ui - Kai. There's such a soft melancholy to Nashimoto-ui's music and I think it fits Kai quite well. He suffers, but he does not scream.
Hachi - Keiji. He's fucked up in such a way.
Azari - Mishima. Not a lot of screen time and under-appreciated by wider fandom NEXT
Beau Jordan - Qtaro. The mix of existential contemplative music and just, fun pop is very him, I think. Also Beau Jordan started off as Ctrl Ult Delete which is the shiteyanyo "joke" cover channel and that reminds me of Qtaro being a burger. Why. Anyways.
Neru - Ranmaru. Fucked up teenager energy. Wanna kms energy. Why am I still here energy. Get this Pomeranian therapy, dear Lord.
Kurage-P - Ranger. TRASH and TRASH! has such him vibes tbh. Also the fast paced and the sometimes fucked up topics (Check 1 2 hello????? Huh????? Girl chilllll) And dear lord Diary of Underage Observation is like. Ranger good ending.
cosMo@Bousou-p - Miley. Fucked up and upbeat and so much fun but also VORE SONG????? THAT SONG IS ABOUT VORE????????? HELLO????????????? A terror to behold, gamers quake upon seeing cosMo-san's name, just as Sue Miley is a harbinger of chaos and suffering. And yet, we love her dearly. Such is the way of things.
Chinozo - Mai. She seems the type to mask too much. This music is for people who mask too much.
Pepoyo - Hinako. I don't think this needs much explanation.
Mafumafu - Gin. It's the cat motifs.

For the Tekken requests if they're still open, may I request Kazuya with a loving and affectionate femdom reader. I love this man so much but also want to bite him 😈 SFW and NSFW, please and thank you!
[OMG this is... perfection 🥴 are you reading my thoughts?!?! cuz if this ain't me. keep those kaz requests coming because imma have a field day with this one. hope you enjoy!!]
Tumblr media
SFW
The loving and affectionate part has this man completely dumbfounded. Not that you could tell from his facial expressions, but if you know Kazuya well enough you can tell when he's just like... Unable to compute. Mans is bluescreening right now.
At first he's not going to tell you how much he likes your hugs and kisses and every other show of affection. After all, it's not very becoming of a very serious CEO, master martial artist, devil man to show any sort of softness!
Until he realizes that he literally cannot help himself anyone and all that goes out the window. He knows that this is who you are and he loves it. At this point, if any of his G Corp goons so much as raise their head to look at you when you give him a bear hug he will Mishima god fist their heads in.
Also perhaps you don't realize the monster you've just created... Kazuya will now demand your affection by holding out his arms to you at every single opportunity. He will notice instantly when something's wrong because you haven't given him the proper amount of kisses yet (proper amount being "never enough.")
But in all seriousness, Kazuya really does appreciate how much you show that you love him, even if he doesn't say it out loud sometimes.
Growing up with the kind of father he did, it wasn't as if he was told "I love you" on a regular basis. And as much as he wouldn't have ever admitted before, it was something he knew that he always was missing.
You are simply a replacement for any sort of lost affection in the past, though. He adores and loves you as your own amazing person in the present that, frankly, he doesn't understand how he came to deserve.
spice under the cut~!
And I think it would be remiss to leave out the fact that your affection and proclivity for dominating also makes Kazuya's head spin. In a whole different delicious way...
Kazuya is definitely not used to being bossed around, and it makes him short circuit when you push him around and tell him what to do. It's almost like he's a deer in the headlights, though he goes along with exactly what you say.
I would go so far as to say that Kazuya has a degradation kink, though not a soul besides you will ever know about it. As someone with so much control in his life that he can make anything happen with a snap of his fingers while those around him praise his every choice, something in him clicks when you degrade him and throw him around like a rag doll.
When you're on top, he's in absolute bliss. He's so big but the fact that you can take him so easily and with the most devilish smirk on your face as you work him... He is seeing STARS.
Please leave marks all over him, he will be like putty in your hands. Kazuya lives for that little sting and the way you ease the pain with a kiss. And considering he always fights without his shirt, he is fully proud of all of those marks and makes no attempt to hide them.
You are also the only one who will ever get to hear Kazuya say "please." And if you play with him just right, he'll say it as many times as you want~

Japanese QL Corner
People continue to misbehave with the shows being generously provided via fan sub, which means we might have to jump through more hoops or be forced to wait awhile to finish them soon. The good news is that one of them has been picked up for international distribution by Netflix, so we will eventually see it all one way or another! For this week, we still got our two fan subbed shows, with the last one airing weekly on Gaga.
Smells Like Green Spirit
Tumblr media
This week we explored comphet, as all of our gay characters lived or relived failed experiences attempting to be attracted to women. Perhaps not the specific gay experience you had on your bingo card for this show, but certainly one many queer people go through. I appreciated that despite featuring an episode about gay boys puking when confronted with sex with girls, the story didn't villainize the girls at all. Fuji is a terrifyingly competent and confident queen and she bounced back from Mishima's rejection with no problem (and with a sapphic twist??). Instead this served as both another way for Mishima and Kirino to bond, and to show Yanagida still dealing with the same thing at an older age. I'm not entirely sure yet what the show is trying to say by putting Yanagida and Mishima on parallel tracks this episode, but I am paying attention. Meanwhile, Yumeno continues to hover around being both viciously homophobic and overly interested in Mishima at the same time. I don't love this romance set up, but it's definitely coming so I am bracing for it.
Love is Like a Poison
Tumblr media
I LOVE THIS SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. It continues to be both smart and funny as hell, and the character and relationship dynamics are cooking with gas. Here at the halfway point, both men have realized they've fallen in love with someone they shouldn't have, and seem stumped as hell about what to do with that. I love love love that Shiba fell for a scammer even knowing he's a scammer, and Haruto fell for his mark when he had no intention of taking this man seriously. I just want them to figure out how to make this work so they can live happily ever after investigating fraud, doing domestic chores, talking to their succulents and having lots of hot sex.
Chaser Game W 2
Tumblr media
This week Fuyu's terrible mother was dispatched with surprising swiftness when Fuyu kinda out of nowhere developed a backbone. Okay, I guess! But before that, Yeoreum got to shoot her shot with Itsuki, who inexplicably turned her down after one drunken night. There truly is no accounting for taste. It seems that Yeoreum is not yet admitting defeat, so we'll get to see her again next week, yay!
