Mini Fanfic #1150: The Devil's Sister (?) (Super Smash Bros Ultimate X Tekken)

3:23 p.m. at the Smash Mansion's Dining Halls.......

Zelda: (Sighs While Crossing her Arms and Walking Along with Mewtwo and Ganondorf) For the last time, Ganon, Mewwy and I are not interested in joining your little heist tonight.

Ganondorf: Oh come now, you two, it'll only be one night and the obtaining the sacred jew will be twice as short and less time restraint than originally planned with your assistance around and about.

Mewtwo: But everyone else in the League will take part in this too, right? Couldn't you have one play the distraction role instead?

Ganondorf: I already assigned everyone to their roles ages ago and even then, I can't really say I trust either of them with this task in question. Bowser and Ridley wouldn't be able keep their mouths shut for the likes of them, Dark Samus' shape-shifting abilities would rise suspension, and the Devil Brat-

The trio's eyes begins to widened as they see Kazuya repeatedly banging his head on the table while everyone else present watching him and Hades chuckling maniacally at the scene itself.

Ganondorf: (Raises his Eyebrow in Confusion) Is not currently banging his head on the table like a madman, what's going on here?

Mewtwo: (Notices a Young Woman Sporting a Purple Colored Tips Faded into her Black Hair, Standing Behind Kazuya with a Smirk on her Face) And who's this?

Hades: (Gets Up From his Seat) Ohohoo! You three are in for a helluva treat right now! Princess, gentlemen, allow me to introduce you Reina Mishima.

Reina: (Causally Waves at the Three) 'Sup.

Zelda: Wait, Mishima? Does that mean you're-

Reina: (Smiles Brightly) That's right!~ I just so happen to be Kazuya's baby sister~ (Was About Ruffle The Top of Kazuya's Head Until....)

Kazuya: (Angrily Points at his "Sister") DON'T!....Touch me.

Reina: (Moves her Hand Away From Kazuya) Fine. Whatever you say, Onee-san~

Kazuya: DON'T CALL ME THAT EITHER!!!

Ganondorf: Okay, I'm confused. (Turns to Kazuya) You have a sibling this entire time?

Reina: Make that "siblings" actually. There's many of us around believe or not.

Mewtwo: (Raises an Eyebrow) How many are we talking exactly?

Reina: Oh I dunno~ Nine....Eighteen.....Maybe twenty-five of us perhaps~

Everyone: TWENTY FIVE!?

Hades: Yeeeeeeup!~ And none of them belongs to Kazumi either. Old Hachi-Boy might've gotten over that train wreck real quick that day cause he was getting BUSY in these past few years!

Bowser: Oh God the Child Support Payment must've been off the roof for the guy. (Eyes Suddenly Starts to Widened) Does even PAID Child Support to begin with?

Sephiroth: Given the the history we were given about him so far, I wouldn't be surprised if that turns out to be the case.

Pichu: (Nodded in Agreement) Pi.

Reina: Nah I wouldn't say that's the case entirely. The old fart never activately been around in any of our lives, bit he has provided all of us the funds and resources we needed to survive in the outside world. Well.....(Smirks Down at a Severely Pissed Off Kazuya) Almost all of us.

Zelda: (Still Surpised at What is Happening Right Now) This is all so much to process at once.....I need something to snack on ASAP!

Mewtwo: Got it. (Summons a Bag of Chips in Front of Zelda With a Snap of his Finger)

Zelda: (Catches the Bag Before Letting Out a Loud Gasps and Pulling her Best Friend into a Very Loving Hug) Mewwy, I love you with every fiber of my soul!~ Let's go!~ (Grabs Mewtwo by the Hand and Rushes Over to the Leagues of Villains' Table to Having a Much Better Viewing Experience)

Ganondorf: So....Given that you're Heihachi's daughter, have you learned a thing or two about his family fighting style as well?

Reina: For the most part. I took a few lessons from his training guide videos a while back and it's been proven beneficial so far. (Let Out a Bit of a Chuckle) A few of peers would usually go on and on saying that learning Martial Arts is a waste of time, but I dunno. It feels nice to fight your own battles for once. (Wiggles her Fingers a Little Before Balling her Fist Up, Creating a Small Purple Electricity Around the Knuckles) It's also satisfying to crush any weak, small fry that tries to get in my way.

Ganondorf: Assertive dominance and power hungry.....(Forms an Evil Smirk on his Face) Not bad. Ever thought about joining our League-

Kazuya: NO! NO! NO! She is NOT joining our group!

Ganondorf: (Casually Shrugs) Don't see why? We ARE in need of new recruits.

Ridley: Plus, she does seems to fit the qualifications of a villain so far, so-

A Devil Beam starts coming towards Space Pirate's direction before quickly dodging it completely.

Ridley: (Glares at Kazuya) What the hell, man!? I was just saying!

Kazuya: (Glares Back at Ridley) And you need to learn when to keep your mouth shut, bird!!

Ridley: Hey, don't get pissy at me for stating the obvious! And I'm a freaking dragon!....I think?....

Reina: Oh come now, Kazu, there's no need for you get so mad~ I personally don't see anything wrong with us working together from time to time.

Kazuya: (Turns to Reina) I do not associate myself with snot-nosed brats. Let alone one who doesn't seem to know her PLACE!

Reina: No need to get so hostile. Your crew mates here were only presenting me an offer I have no reason to refuse.

Kazuya: And I decline you from EVER joining our ranks!!

Bowser: (Nervously Raise Up his Finger) I don't really think you have a say in the matt-

Kazuya: SHUT UP!

Kazuya angrily shoots another Devil Beam at Bowser, whom quickly dodges it as well.

Reina: ('Sigh') Honestly. Have you always throw hissy fits whenever things don't go your way? At your own age nonetheless?

Mewtwo: You think that's immature? You should've seen all the times him and his subordinates drinking celebrating around your father's grave every chance they get.

Reina: Really?....Can't tell if that's sad or pathetic.

Mewtwo: I say it's the latter.

Kazuya shoots yet another Devil Beam at Mewtwo, only for Zelda to stop it from hitting him by using her manipulation power with the palm of her hand

Zelda: (Glares at Kazuya While Slowly Erasing the Beam Entirely) Don't. Even.

Reina: (Gives Zelda a Impressed Smile on her Face) Gotta say, that's some nifty telekinesis powers you got there, princess.

Zelda: (Turns to Reina with a Bright Smile on her Face) Thanks!~ Mewwy's been teaching me a thing or two on how to use them more fluently

Reina: (Chuckles Lightly While Pointing at Mewtwo) This cutie suppose to be your teacher or something?

Zelda: Not just that. (Happily Hugs Mewtwo Again) This cutie is also my bestest friend in the whole wide world!~

Mewtwo: (Looks Away While Blushing) Nothing about me screams cute, Zelda......

Before Reina could even finish the rest of her sentence, Kazuya delivers a powerful, electric surging punch towards her face, only for the young woman to catch it at the last second woth an iron grip, much to everyone's surprise.

Bowser: (Immediately Gets Up From his Seat) Oh shit!

Ridley: Another escalation happening here, people!

Sephiroth: (Rolls his Eyes) No surprise there.

Hades: And the sparks begins to fly at long last!

Ganondorf: (Smirk Grew Wider) Excellent.

Reina: Well, would you look at that!~ (Forms an Evil, Cocky Smirk on her Face While Still Holdong onto Kazuya's Fist) We're actually getting somewhere here.

Kazuya: (Tries His Very Hardest to Power Through Reina's Grip While Grunting) Sister......or not.....I WILL kill you.....With my own BARE HANDS!!!

Reina: You're more than welcome to try. But I must warn you though.....I never take my punches lightly....nor do I take lightly to those who are all talk....So unless you wanna know what it feels like to grovel on a solid floor, cut the bullshit, try your hardest, and push me towards my. Absolute. Limit.

Kazuya: Gladly.

Kazuya uses his other fist to try and punch Reina for the second time and-

Kazuya's eyes suddenly starts to widen as he turns to see a ghost of his own mother, Kazumi, stand beside him, silently shaking her head at in disappointment. It was long for only son take a deep breath and loosen the force of his punch.

Kazuya: No. I won't kill you. Not yet anyways.

Reina: (Raises an Eyebrow as She Slowly Starts to Losen her Grip) Really? You're giving up just like that? Pretty disappointing if you ask me-

Kazuya: Quiet, you insufferable brat! That's not what I'm doing! I'm only putting this on hold for now. But the next time I see you, I won't be so merciful.

Reina: (Stares at Kazuya Fore a Brief Second Before Sighing in Defeat) Fine. Whatever you say, Kazuya. (Finally Let's Go of Kazuya's Hand) I have a busy schedule on my hands already. (Properly Bows to Everyone Else at the Table) So I must bid ypu all adieu for now.

Ganondorf: (Walks Up to Reina) Wait. Before you go anywhere, here. (Gives Reina the Leagues of Villains Business Card) The offer still stands for you to join our League if you like.

Reina: (Smiles Brightly at Ganondorf) Why, thank you very much, Senpai!~ (Place the Business Card in her Jackey Pocket) I'll be sure to keep you all in touch going forward. In the meantime, I'll actually take my leave for real this time. (Walks Away Before Suddenly Stopping in her Tracks) Oh and......Onee-Chan? If you still wanna try and kill me with your own bare hands, you know where to find me. (Turns Back to Kazuya One Last Time With an Evil Grin on her Face) And I'll be sure show not to show you any form of mercy on my end either. Kazuya sky rockets himself out of the mansion, breaking parts of the ceiling as it falls down on the table.

Ganondorf: ('Sigh') Great. The devil brat's tantrum destroyed the ceiling again. All in favor in telling the ladies what happened- Not it!

Bowser: Not it!

Zelda: Not it!

Mewtwo: Not it.

Hades: Not itttt!~

Asuka is a tragic figure, a figure of mystery, a wild card, all because the only thing she wants in life is peace and quiet for herself and to feel in control- yet her secret heritage that may be hidden from her for her own protection and the reality that life is unpredictable and will go on with or without you keep ruining that delusion, that vision of how the world is meant to work to her, and she suffers regardless of what she wants, what she does, and how little she understands anything

She was born into a family preaching peace and balance and order while being a creature of violence, and puts a dozen mental locks and excuses over this truth to justify giving into her impulse for fighting by pretending she's justice when she does it

She keeps trying to build a place of safety but she's using sand and life is a wave that destroys, yet she stubbornly persists rather than give up, not drowned to the point of self centered suicidal loathing like Jin- there's contrast, where Jin is cloaked in death Asuka stubbornly clings to life and humanity as a normal person in a terrifying world

She's not a fucking narrative clone for Jun's own purpose, Asuka's purpose must be determined by Asuka herself

This was the hardest monthly wrap up I ever had to do because I forgot about it until like two days ago and my brain is not at its best and I'm tired so I can't really write a lot. So anyway as usual, spoilers and opinions below, read at your own risk.

QL - Currently Watching

🇹🇼 Blue Canvas of Youthful Days [2/12] - I really like the look of this show and all the art. I'm not yet sold on the main couple as a possible item but I really like the characters individually. I adore the second couple. The scene with the hearing aid was beautiful and I like the fact that it's not about the couple. Perhaps in a bl from a different country this would be about them finally being able to communicate, but because Liu knows sign language, it's simply about helping Tan Yin. Don't know why but I really liked this.

��🇷🇹🇭 Eccentric Romance [8/12] - It's not the worst thing ever but at several points during the episodes I find myself asking, what am I watching?

🇹🇭 Every You, Every Me [4/8] - This show constantly surprises me. The different stories every week and the aspec rep was how they got me at first but now I'm invested in the meta and the absolutely adorable mains. And this show is just so gorgeous to watch.

🇹🇭 Fourever You [5/16] - Beautiful Pond. Cute Earth. I'm annoyed. Hopefully the next couple is better in terms of storyline.

🇹🇭 Jack & Joker [8/12] - Can they just get together first and then give me all the drama? I'm okay with that. I actually liked Love Mechanics, so give it to me. But Jack is all over the place with his behaviour, he says Joke is family and they seem to have a shared view of the future, and they sure behave as if they're a couple, but then he hides things from Joke, supposedly 'for his own good'. I feel for Joke, because he's being jerked around by Jack.

🇹🇭 Kidnap [8/12] - I love Ohm. And that is the one and only reason I'm still here.

🇰🇷 Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo [6/8] - I'm obsessed. I think about this show way too much. It's painful and beautiful, brilliant writing and visuals and I need it to be over but I don't want it to end. I think we're gonna have a second time skip since they are not in our present yet and I just want to see them happy.

🇰🇷 Love in the Big City [4/8] - Obsessed in a total different way. This story is like an open tab in my brain at all times. I'm dreaming of edits and gifsets. I think of Young and my chest tightens. I'm having a hard time writing about the second part of the show because it's just so much, although it feels lighter than the novel. I'm dreading the next part.

🇯🇵 Love is a Poison [7/10] - I love it here. Everything about it. This being Shiba's first love sure explains a lot, and the onsen date was amazing. I think the actors are nailing this.

🇹🇭 Peaceful Property [10/12] - I've said enough about it. I'm here for TayNew and trying to just ignore everything else.

🇹🇭 Perfect 10 Liners [1/24] - And so it begins. Every gmmtv boy is here and they are all playing engineers. They got two Flukes and everything. I wish Force wasn't once again an asshole jock and Book the clueless fool but I guess that's too much to ask. This is the couple I'm least interested here so I want to see the rest.

🇹🇼 See Your Love [3/13] - Taiwan just doing giving all the rep with disabled characters and as usual a parade of bl actors. It's fine for now.

🇯🇵 Smells like Green Spirit [6/9] - I love Mishima. I think the scenes with him and Kirino are always great. I'm still not totally on board with the romance but I'm somewhat fascinated with Yumeno.

QL - Finished

🇹🇼 First Note of Love - I feel like I need to rewatch this as a binge because I think this format didn't help this particular show. Although I like the mains and I really liked the actors, their romance never truly clicked for me. I need more of the sides. The language banter was my favourite thing about this.

🇹🇭 I Saw You In My Dream - This is super cute. They are all adorable and they actually communicate. Ultimately I was a little underwhelmed about the concept.

🇹🇭 Monster Next Door - It's fine. I like Big and he was great here. But I've already forgotten everything about this.

🇭🇰 Our Golden Times - I watched it. It was okay.

🇹🇭 Reverse 4 You - Pretty show. Good concept. Not great execution all the way through.

When Jin leapt to kill Azazel, Kazuya followed him. Trapped together in the ruins of Azazel's temple deep underground, the two struggle with an uneasy truce—and the fact it's the first time either one has actually really talked to the other.

remember how during king's ending in tekken 3, we saw armor king succumbing to a sickness? remember how that lead to a powerful ending in tk4 where armor king apparently died, and king was gonna kill his killer - only to show mercy after finding out ak's killer also has a family? and this lead to more and more stories involving ak's brother, marduk, and king? all that we can consume aside from the Main Story? Remember how nina's ending in tk3 shows us nina regaining her memories after anna takes her to their father's grave? remember how bryan's tk4 story + ending told us that he was slowly dying and in the ending showed us dr. b and yoshi saving him?

if those games were made now, all of those endings would've been replaced with either comedic or silly endings. then any information about nina's memories coming back would've just been mentioned in a tweet or interview by harada and we never actually see it in the games.

it's not even that i mind the silly or comedic endings. they've always been apart of the series. but i just feel we're getting to the point where more of them are always silly and that it's hurting the storytelling + characterization. the endings were a great way to show us what's happening on the side of the Main Story (mishima drama and all that lol) they were also a way to make these other characters interesting. i just... don't see the point of having 2 endings where lars and alisa are just staring and blushing at each other when... maybe this information about her having a DETERIORATING CHIP could've been mentioned instead? in a serious ending? maybe it could be something that would be important in either the next game, or their next endings (like it used to be in tek)?

like as cute as the lars & alisa moments are. could you imagine how interesting the whole "o yea alisa is apparently potentially dying" story would be? to see dr. b panic because his daughter, the one he based alisa on, died of an illness and now he's possibly experiencing it all over again with alisa the robo. how lars & dr. b has to rush to find a way to fix or replace the chip. but no... this is just something harada randomly mentions in an interview (from 2022) and who knows if it'll ever actually be relevant. or how about asuka discovering her powers or something else instead of y'know... having yet ANOTHER ending where she has a silly fight with lili for the thousandth time?

again, the silly endings are fun and all, and i certainly want there to still be some silly endings. but it feels like the endings are getting wasted when they could actually be interesting to the lore again. it's starting to feel like that harada has some imaginary tek story in his head that is different from the actual games' lol

It's amazing how characters just can't stay dead in fighting games. First Bison and now Heihachi, the only fight game i can think of that killed a important character and had them stay dead was Guilty Gear.

And honestly both Heihachi and Bison coming back kinda disappointed me. SF6 seemed like it would pick up on what happened after sf3 and could maybe go to some new interesting places, but no, bison and shadaloo again. Not even a sf3 character so far (Although it seems like Elena might be around the corner, and i will shill for her)

Heihachi is the most disappointing tho, he is cool, he is iconic, but the final fight against him in 7 felt like the perfect sendoff to him, really the only good part of tekken 7 story mode imo. But no, he's back again for more mishima family drama.

And idk it's cool to see them again, the new bison looks cool, i wish they were dead tho.

another reason I like bloodline: giving me indirect jinpachi & heihachi lore. cause this father & son duo is pretty overlooked and its just interesting to think about

I think this is the first and only time heihachi mentionned his father and the whole thing fascinates me. If you didnt know, jinpachi mishima is the founder of the mishima zaibatsu that heihachi overthrowed before locking him up in chains under their family ancestral home where jinpachi eventually died. (just goes to show the devil gene isnt the origin of the mishima's fucked up family drama)

again an interesting thing about jinpachi is that hes so far the most noble mishima (not that the bar is high...) like hes the only one who was genuinely kind to kazuya when he was a child, he also had a touching friendship with wang jinrei... but hes made his fortune by selling weapons during ww2, something he apparently regretted enough to dedicate his family legacy to world peace and martial arts.

So I imagine the lesson jinpachi tried to teach heihachi here would depend on whether he told it to a very young heihachi who internalized it and which fueled his ambition OR he told it to heihachi after ww2 which would mean heihachi was already adult and he meant it as some sort of cautionnary tale but heihachi choose to interpret it the wrong way. In any ways, stuff to think about.

and finally, maybe its all just good old manipulative heihachi at work (he is trying to get something out of jin for his own gain after all), but the way hes talking about his father here is so interesting to me because in game canon when jinpachi and heihachi are able to interact, its always is a LITERAL headbutting way, but here it opens a window into the probability of why heihachi is the way he is, and how no matter of how well intentionated jinpachi mightve been, he also played a part in shaping heihachi's evil.

For funsies: Yuki's timeline

So folks can know wtf he was doing in any paticular timeperiod. Tekken verse ofc!

0-8 years old: Yuki was born and raised in the Zaibatsu Labs until Amileia Carey sacrificed her life to free him.

8-14: Yuki is adopted very quickly to a family in Northern Ireland. Who teaches and groom into assassination. He is then kicked out after seven years due to being trans and queer.

14-15: Yuki spends a year homeless until a failed attempt at pick pocketing Lee Chaolan finds him placed under the latter's care.

15-18: Yuki lives in the Bahamas with his new foster family, there's a lot of legal drama as his previous parents claim he "ran away.” With rumors of an “ogre” attacking famous and strong martial artists across the world. Yuki studies in Russia in case the creature is connected to the Mishima Zaibatsu.

18-19: Yuki begins dating Sergei Dragunov, together they discover that Yuki's biological father is alive and that he has a half sister, who is in danger.

Tekken 3: Yuki leaves Russia for Japan, where he is able to write to his half sister, a Tekken Force soldier named Ayame. Warning her of Heihachi Mishima's involvement in their Father's situation. Unfortunately she gets it just before she is given a mission that she refuses.Yuki and Hayato Rush to save her from her old allies. During which Hayato is seemingly killed in front of Yuki.

19-20: Yuki connects with Ayame and her Mother, Yuki manages to make his dream come true and opens up the Devil's Have Club. Yuki and Sergei breakup upon Yuki finding out what Sergei's unit is up to and Sergri finds out about Yuki's assassin gig.

Tekken 4, 5 to six months before Tekken 6: Yuki throws himself into work and addiction.

Tekken 6: The previous Kiyori home is destroyed. Ayame and Safiya move into the home Lee bought for Yuki. Yuki uses the now closed Haven to shelter those who lost their homes during the war while he and Lee use their combined networks to stay ahead of the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation. Yuki finds Sergei again and they make up.

Tekken 7: Continues to act as a support for the downtrodden. Uses his connections to supply those standing against the Zaibatsu. Intended to face his fears and sign up for the seventh king of iron fist but the tournament was canceled almost as quickly as it was announced.

Tekken 8: Helps his Father figure Lee and Yggdrasil against the tryany of Kazuya Mishima. Continues to act in the shadows as a supply runner and sniper. Meets Jin Kazama and Abaddon.

Now A: Happily dating Jin, Sergei and Abaddon while getting back into a normal routine as a club owner, retires from assassination work.

Now B: Hiding in Lee's mansion following the discovery if a bounty on his head...by the Mishima Zaibatsu somehow..

Oh don't get me wrong, there's plenty of things I love about it. How do you not love a universe where a Russian spec ops dude, a Mexican wrestler, an Android girl, the prime minister of Poland, and a literal bear can fight each other? I just think the Mishima family drama needs to finally end so they can move on and do something else with the series.

4:23 p.m. at the Smash Mansion's Dining Hall........

Silence. The entirety of the hall went dead silent as we join the League of Evil Villains and a shaking, incredibly pissed off Kazuya bare witness of an older, yet fairly muscular and slightly bald man crossing his arms and standing in front of their presence.

Bowser: No freaking way.....(Starts Whispering to Ridley) Is that really him?

currently percolating an au idea in my brainicles, though i doubt I'm gonna do anything with it any time soon bc im a busy bitch lmao

so this actually spawned bc i have milgram project brainrot rn, and while listening to mu's first audio drama some things about persona 5 clicked. luna mentioned that wakaba being so caring towards futaba despite her being born out of wedlock is actually not the norm, and it's some pretty important cultural context we missed.

naturally, i made a joke that the real akechi foil was the futabas we found along the way...but actually it could work!

in this version, everything up to medjed is the same wrt palaces and such, but shadow madarame doesn't mention the black mask bc black mask doesn't exist. more on that later.

instead, he mentions a hacker that's been exposing and/or threatening people, doxxing them, etc. you guessed it, it's futaba.

she doesn't have leblanc bugged bc she doesn't live with sojiro, she lives with either her (less shitty) relatives or a random foster family, so she doesn't actually know who the pts are.....yet. mishima better hope his website security is beefy as hell, im just saying.

her whole plan is to dig up as much dirt on shido and the conspiracy as she can, then go to him in person, slap the information down on his desk, inform him she's his daughter and that she knows he killed her mom, and then basically blast all that shit all over twitter. she also has a deadman switch set up so that even if he kills her, the info still goes out.

of course, shido knows about her already, because genius or not she's still 15. he just doesn't care bc he thinks he's untouchable.

akechi, on the other hand, is sojiro's ward. he's not a shut-in due to anxiety, but more in a sense of "what's the point?"

he takes online courses, either highschool or college depending on if i wanna accelerate him a bit, so he doesn't see the point in leaving really. it's not like there's anything interesting outside, so why bother?

if you've ever seen either the mekakucity actors anime or the mv for lost time memory from kagerou project, you probably know exactly who im basing him on.

anyway he does have a palace, it's a void of foggy swamp with ruins scattered around, like futabas endless desert in canon. a charon-like figure drifts around the swamp in a little raft, and surprise! that's shadow akechi.

he's only got the one persona since he has no detective prince mask, and that's loki, though ill probably fuck around a bit personality wise. who knows, maybe his persona actually is charon lmao

luna said it adds a new dimension to the black mask/crow persona and i fully agree: depressed, directionless, passively suicidal akechi's first real full force emotion in YEARS? anger. like how futabas was determination and righteous justice, his is anger and spite at how society managed to convince him to drift through the life he fought so hard to have.

4: what's your favourite moment in game?

there are tons of small silly moments i like (stuff like when reko and joe explore together in chapter 1 and there's that bit of dialogue where they're either fighting over who gets to give gin a piggyback or joe is yelling in reko's ear) buuut if i must pick one... i really had to think about but i kept coming back to the end of the final attraction / chapter 2A so that's what i'm going with. i knowww that's a bit too broad (more of a part of the game than a singular moment but. anyway) but whether or not you push the reko doll, whether q-taro hits the button or not, whichever death occurs and ranger's death + gashu's entrance following it... the drama! the revelations! such a tense part of the game and the outcome is always a kind of loss. god. love love love

9: which character dynamic/friendship is your favourite?

it's hard for me not to say sara and keiji when you play the game as sara and spend far too much time around keiji, and it really is a fascinating dynamic tbh. the trust or lack thereof and the dependence and the way it directly impacts your experience as you play because it dictates that you see and feel things the way sara does. the absolute leap from suspicion to reliance, and the still unshakeable feeling that Something's Up, because why did keiji trust so much right off the bat? yeah . they're up there for me for sure. in a more general sense i'm a sucker for family (adjacent) dynamics so stuff like the yabusames and most of kai's relationships also hit hard for me

ohhh it's so hard to choose... i'll take advantage of the plural here and list several - kai and reko's events are absolutely up there for me! the first two are so funny and always make me crack up, and the last one is a really lovely insight into kai. his events with nao and kanna are also favourites of mine since they're a really nice blend of funny and sweet while also exploring the characters (kai's dialogue in his nao events often forms the brunt of my thoughts on his character). as for mishima, i love his event w/ q-taro for similar reasons as to why i like kai and reko's - very funny AND god i love the stuff with q-taro and his parents and the orphanage... gah. mishima's event w/ kai is also great. and shout out to both keiji fondness events so far being so absurd they'll haunt me forever whether i like it or not

Reko - She's really close with her bandmates, and they're like family to her

Anzu - Has an entire clown car full of clownworkers who love her, and treat her like family

Mishima - had a lot of friends in his old school days gang of bad boys, but disconnected from them when he got older, and started to get busy with work. They reconnect a few years later, when they've cleaned up their lives, and go out together to have dinner once a month and talk about things

QTaro - Gets along great with his baseball buddies, but those are technically coworkers, so they don't count as friends

Hayasaka - The guy at 7/11 who smiles at him with pity when he buys a redbull, and mixes it with a black coffee outside of the 7/11 at three in the morning

Futaba Sakura for the ask meme!

Sexuality Headcanon: lesbian! of the girls she's probably the one i'm most set on with that but i've heard strikers is big yutaba hours so i'll see if that changes my thoughts when i beat it Gender Headcanon: trans girl and genderfluid are my favorite futaba gender headcanons but i can go pretty much any way here too, like joker A ship I have with said character: anntaba my beloveds!!! i think they'd have a really fun dynamic together and tiny gamer goblin x tall gorgeous model (who is also actually a gamer goblin) is just so delightful to me. it's also the only futaba ship i've read fic for that really rang true with her character to me so it has a special place in my heart. i also like the idea of her and kana reconnecting irl and ending up dating someday but we don't really know enough about kana for that to be much of a ship A BROTP I have with said character: JOKER!! i love the whole coffee family so much and they're a found-family-siblings dynamic that just feels really real and sweet to me. i find the family angle on their relationship much more cute and compelling than the potential romance and the collective sojiro + joker + futaba adoptive family unit is just so precious to me. (also futaba and sojiro themselves, holy shit, they are so soft) A NOTP I have with said character: i already mentioned mishima in his post and that i don't care for romantic joker/futaba here... it's not really a notp so much as just a meh-tp but shipping her with sumi doesn't really do anything for me despite being one of the most popular ships for both of them A random headcanon: she's been REALLY into the call of cthulhu ttrpg through novelizations/drama CDs/replays for a long time (along with all the various video games/visual novels/etc inspired by the mythos) and knows the rules in and out despite never having irls to play with. she ropes the phantom thieves (and sojiro) into a campaign she DMs after months of meticulous planning and turns out to be really really fucking good at DMing tabletop games General Opinion over said character: i absolutely adore her!!! even though i know she's not strictly canonically autistic she still manages to be one of the absolute best autistic characters i've seen in anything and my autistic ass greatly appreciates her for that alone, but on top of that she's also funny and adorable and relatable and a great addition to the cast. her popularity in the fandom is absolutely earned and from my sample size of 2 she's definitely my favorite persona navigator so far
