Note
You should not evaluate candidates for office by whether they’re assholes, but by their proposed policies. Which of Trump’s policies seem like good ideas to you? Why do they seem like better ideas than Biden’s policies?
I agree, and people shouldn't evaluate candidates based on what they see on tumblr, x, or instagram either.
Warning: It's another big one, you guys.
SIDENOTE:
I think people should look to the independent journalists who aren't advocating for violence, who aren't saying everything the media is saying, and who might even actually live in the country or city they're talking about. At the very least, listen to the people are affected by what's going on and who are willing to talk about it. I really like the people who you wouldn't have expected to be saying what they're saying, they're really cool.
I'll try to list a few people I've been listening to, in no particular order. I feel these people are very calm and very down to earth, and do an amazing job at explaining why they feel the way the do.
Amir Odom- criticizes racists and talks about the hypocrisy within the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the disturbing, ongoing trends involving children. Misha Petrov- talks about her journey out of the leftist mindset and addresses social trends through responding to tiktoks and sharing the stories sent in by her viewers. Amala Ekpunobi- was once a very serious and outspoken advocate for the left, however has since changed her stance and details her experiences on both sides. Mahyar Tousi- lives in Britain and talks about the protests/riots that are currently taking place all over the world- Britain, France, America, etc, and how they affect the communities around them, as well as the rest of the world. Tyler Oliveria- visits the cities that are being hit the hardest and interviews the people who live there, including those on their way to work as well as those who are unfortunately homeless. They all have something to say, and Tyler gives them the chance to say it. Cash Jordan- lives in New York and is currently covering the immigration crisis they're dealing with. He posts almost every day. Depressed Ginger- talks about current events in American politics and reviews the polls just about as often as they're coming out.
That's just a few of the people I like. I can't keep up with every single video they upload, but whenever I can, it's always an interesting listen.
BIDEN POLICIES vs TRUMP POLICIES
Okay. Policies. I'm going to pick, like... I don't know, 3 policies and I'm going to compare them as best as I can. If there's a policy I didn't mention that you would like me to talk about, please feel free to ask. We'll do immigration, foreign policy, and environmental policy, and I'm going to primarily focus on what we've seen out of each of their presidencies.
Keep in mind, I'm obviously supporting Trump and so you're going to see a clear bias in here. Hey, at least I'm honest.
Immigration:
Most of Biden's policies involving the border/immigration seem to solely exist just to reverse whatever Trump did, which is... ugh. He stopped construction of the border wall and lifted Trump's travel ban which restricted travel of nationalists from countries such as Iran, Venezuela, and North Korea. There's more countries than that, but I thought those three were the most "duh" ones.
Since Biden became the president, millions and millions and millions of immigrants have come into the United States illegally, without any identification whatsoever. Hundreds of thousands(probably millions) of children have totally vanished under the watch of freaking Alejandro Mayorkas, who was brought into office in February of 2021, under Biden.
By the way, if you don't know who Mayorkas is, he's the 7th Secretary of Homeland Security-- and I don't care what anyone says about Ted Cruz, this short video where he's going off at Mayorkas kicks ass, man. You need to listen to some of these senate hearings, guys, they're wild. Listen to the full video if you can, this guy is screwing American citizens and illegal immigrants alike, and I just don't think he cares. At all. It's satisfying to watch him getting yelled at.
Trump, meanwhile, wants that all to be totally shut down. You can argue that Biden's shutting down the border now, but come on. A little late, huh? Way too late?
Children are vanishing, citizens are being murdered, and bodies of these immigrants are turning up all over the place- people are literally finding dead bodies in their backyards. There are people affiliated with Hamas and Isis, who are just in the United States now. No idea where they are, but they're here. Somewhere. I haven't even mentioned the freaking fentanyl problem, what a nightmare that's been just by itself.
Yes, Trump wants to do a massive deportation, of course he does. This. Is. Insane. There are innocent asylum seekers, yes, but then there's these millions and millions and millions of military-aged men with nice clothes and nice phones from, what was it, like, 151 different countries? If you honestly believe that each and every single one of these millions and million and millions of people are totally safe and totally wonderful, then... I just... Ugh.
Foreign Policy:
This one should be pretty easy. We're lucky in that we've seen what Trump's done and now we've seen what Biden's done. I don't think that happens a lot, where both candidates have already been the president.
Under Biden, not only have we been printing more money that God could have ever predicted, but we're either giving all of that money to the illegal immigrants, to weird electric scooter stations that nobody asked for, or, we're sending all of that money overseas. Just an insane amount of money. I do believe in helping our allies, of course- however I'm not sure if our allies are actually getting the help they need.
I mean, how much did it cost us to build that pier in Gaza, a freaking $130 million? And what did it do? Nothing. It did nothing but waste $130 million to make things worse. Biden's foreign policies are... like. They're bizarre. They're the kind of bizarre that makes me want to say some things that I don't think you guys are ready for yet, but just know that I personally think they're freaking bizarre. SO BIZARRE. Oh my god, what the hell, they're so.... suspicious. Jesus.
Trump, meanwhile, seems to approach his foreign policy with the head of a business man, calling out other countries for not paying their fair share in exchange for the work America does for them, which by the way, means that the American people are the ones who have to pay for most- if not entirely for- all of this stuff.
Japan, which is a country I've been able to visit twice and I love it so, so, so much, hasn't been paying their fair share in exchange for hosting troops. I know that sounds messed up at first-- "Why should they pay money to the American Occupation!!!"-- but then you start interviewing the Japanese people and while at first they didn't like it either, many can admit that it's actually nice to have America right there. They're close enough to North Korea and China, and we're all already worried about Taiwan, so. When you take global politics into account, then yeah, maybe America should get paid for being something like a bodyguard to Japan. Ugh, I love Japan. Such a beautiful country and everyone was so nice. I'd like to go back a third time.
Anyway. Trump's done something like that with other countries too, but Japan was the first to come to mind.
The other thing Trump did while he was the president, was put together something called the Abraham Accords: a series of treaties that brought together Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. This was a huge deal, I remember back when it happened and while I didn't care about Trump back then, I was just soooo, so excited. I don't think we've ever seen anything like that. Ever. It was pretty cool.
Call me biased, I know, but these foreign policies were the things that stuck out to me even before I got all into this political junk.
Okaaaay, last one.
Environment:
I think we all have the obvious impression that Biden loves the environment and his administration wants to do every single thing it can to protect the climate, and that Trump just hates the environment so much and he tried to build that pipeline, and he's trying to take spending out of environmental agencies all over the country, et cetera, et cetera.
I just... Um. I don't know, I've gotten so deep into this stuff... but I don't think it's hard to figure out that Biden seems to really, really, really want to impress China, and yet if he actually cared about the environment, then he should maybe ask them to stop being the biggest polluters in the entire world. Has he done that? Let me know, but he says he wants to make everyone drive electric cars, and I just can't help but think that isn't to benefit the environment- rather, I think it's to benefit China. I think a lot of the climate stuff we see is... I don't know! I don't want to be that guy that's like, "China, China, China," but man... there's just been some freaky stuff with them.
I'm not a total jerk about China though- the people there are really going through it right now and I'm super rooting for them. They're amazing and their protests are really something to look at.
Trump, meanwhile, would like America to be self-sufficient and that's why he's always like "drill, baby, drill." We don't want to have to depend on someone else for vital resources, and if it ever happened that they cut us off- what then? You think gas is expensive now? Ha.
I know a lot of people are worried about their jobs when it comes to environmental stuff, but I also think that the overall budget needs to be totally reorganized. Priorities need to be reevaluated- we need to think about education, economics, and agriculture, and we especially need to figure out the train wreck that is our freaking healthcare system. It's just absolutely horrible.
I know we want to save the world, but how can we do that if we can't save ourselves? Woof. I'm all for helping the environment, but the thing that I think is right around the corner... I don't know. It's not my top priority, I'm sorry to say. Not until things cool down.

@deancoded-deangirl So after 15x18 aired obviously Twitter had a meltdown. November 5th destiel out trended the US election multiple times. I don't think there is a single way to encapsulate the absolute nuke that was dropped on the fandom
Then it was discovered that in the Spanish dub Dean says “I love you” back during the confession scene. The CW claimed this was a translation “error”, needless to say that did sit well with people.
Tumblr media
This led to A LOT of speculation and claims of censoring the script for 15x18. The back and forth over how canon it was in Spanish was a wild time. Here is a YT link to the Spanish confession scene. The Spanish translators said it wasn't an error, and it still isn't clear. I believe they were correct though, and doing Jack's work making sure Dean said it back.
Fans were convinced that the original script included a full reciprocation and proper mourning from Dean and Jack, but was edited because they didn't want to go through with making Dean bi.
Then the finale aired, and Dean's death . . . well it happened.
Of course we all know how Jensen feels about it, and he didn't waste time letting everyone know. The first post he made after was on Instagram and was certainly made as a pretty lighthearted joke, but the “rusty nail” lines got a lot more bitter in later interviews etc. He clearly was not okay with how Dean went out and wanted everyone else to know that.
Tumblr media
Of course cut to 2021 and the Winchesters is announced, Jared didn't know and found out allegedly via Twitter, and made sure we all knew how bitter he was about that. Honestly I could do a whole essay just on Jensen and Jared's twitter exchange during this time, but needless to say it's pretty petty between two grown men.
Tumblr media
Also in 2021(I believe) is when Misha Collins started a Twitter thread about Destiel on AO3 and other fic websites, stating that even though it doesn't exist in “fiction” at least it's the biggest in fanfiction. He's always been one of us, and it was a positive way to show how he didn't care for Destiel's ending, but he is a brainrotted destieller like the rest of us. Of course the digs at the finale etc go without saying here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Other cast members have also made “rusty nail” jokes/references. Yeah, that nail didn't have a lot of fans.
Tumblr media
And we cannot forget the weekend Misha Collins was Bi, because for some reason he thought that was the secret third personality option. The sheer stupidity caused over that weekend was hilarious. This of course fed in to Cockles(which is it's own can of worms).
Tumblr media
In summary, Jensen didn't like that 15x18 was heavily edited from the original script, didn't like Dean's ending, and now we have the Winchesters to show just how strongly he felt about all that. Misha Collins is the biggest destiel shipper and probably wanted a proper confession/reciprocation, and is happy that destiel is THRIVING in the fanfiction space.
Jared is umm, well Jared, and didn't know about Jensen's project with the Winchesters until it was publicly announced and that led to some drama. Given their most recent con appearances though I think they are on good terms.
Ultimately all of this went down because the actors opinions were not valued when it came to THEIR OWN SHOWS ending.
Thursday is niche PowerPoint day at work and I’m gonna do SPNgate so help me out by sending me stuff to include!!!

I don't have twitter and I'm seeing posts but a lot of them involve knowing what I'm looking at...can you pls explain the latest spn/Jensen news, pretty please?
Sure! Explanation of the events of the past week (some of these dates might be relative to my timezone, apologies for any errors):
JUNE 24: News breaks that Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles’ production company has a prequel in the works focusing on John and Mary Winchester; entire fandom displeased
Fandom ire at the prequel focusing on John and Mary momentarily overshadows the fact that it seems like Jensen Ackles has the rights to Supernatural (!!!) and has ‘five shows in the works’ of which this is only the first
Showrunner is Destiel fan-favourite Robbie Thompson, responsible for such Absolute Banger Episodes as ‘Meta Fiction’ (see more here)
A lot of blowback from absolutely all sides of the fandom - BiBros et al mad that it focuses on Not The Brothers, Destiel fans mad it focuses on Not Resolving Destiel, everyone largely mad it focuses on John Winchester (widely regarded as abusive) and the ‘epic love story’ of John/Mary (canonically forced by cupid magic)
Various cast members including Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, Jake Abel, Ruth Connell and Julie McNiven reply to the article with comments indicating they’d like to be involved
Eric Kripke tweets that Jensen and Danneel are ‘the perfect people’ to take control of this story and Jared is ‘too busy Texas Rangering’ to be involved
JUNE 25: Jared Padalecki tweets about being left out of the loop on the prequel; absolute chaos ensues
See this ask reply for a list of tweets, events and reactions
I’ll also add that this gets large enough to get coverage on Vulture, Variety and other news sources
Robbie Thompson retweets his tweet from 2019 saying ‘I ❤️ you #SPNFamily’ in response to… everything
JUNE 26: A scramble for Jensen, Jared and Eric Kripke to do PR damage control on the Jared issue. Meanwhile, Misha Collins does his best impression of this scene from the Lion King to promote GISH
Eric later deletes all tweets about the issue, which is VERY funny. Man can’t handle the heat!
Very funny contrast between Jared’s ‘have a talk, as we often do’ and Jensen’s ‘miss these talks'
Jensen later changes his twitter header and bio from Supernatural/Dean Winchester to The Boys/Soldier Boys which IS somewhat unfortunate and perhaps deliberate break-up related timing
Jared tweets that he ‘doesn’t want anyone to receive hate or threats’ which is like… Jared YOU started this, YOU tweeted this to your millions of followers
JUNE 26: Jensen Ackles does further damage control by tweeting ‘Canon? we got you’ and linking to this article about what the show might hold, which points out the Problems of John Winchester
See article for further details but this implies Jensen actually does care a lot about doing right by the fans and the narrative canon
This, combined with the fact Robbie Thompson is running it, convinces most Destiel-side fans that the show Might Be Better Than Expected and one CW-approved stepping stone to greater things
BiBros are furious because article is written by ‘known Heller’ Natalie Fisher, who is friends with writers such as Meredith Glynn and Robert Berens
Meanwhile, Steve Yockey references the ‘Steve Yockey is dead?!?’ tumblr meme on twitter in a reply to Ruth Connell
JUNE 27: Gen Padalecki posts an instagram story which may or may not be shady commentary on Jensen Ackles
However, yesterday Danneel Ackles also promotes the Padalecki MLM product on HER instagram - can I just say I simply love the use of a) product promotion and b) instagram stories as tools of warfare and diplomacy
JUNE 28: Various scripts drop thanks to the team at tumblr’s spnscripthunt (go support and fund their efforts if you can!)
Notable changed content includes Castiel telling Dean to ‘parent’ Jack in 14.16 and Castiel texting emojis to Claire in 12.16 (possibly an in-script joke about Dean being attracted to a poodle?)
JUNE 29: News breaks that Chaos Machine Productions was started as ‘Free Will Entertainment LLC’
The name was apparently changed in October 2020 - was that as a result of the 15.19-15.20 filming? Or something else?
The idea that Jensen set up a company called ‘Free Will Entertainment’ to continue telling the story of Supernatural is honestly BONKERS. A lot to unpack here to do with the textual and metatextual narrative of Supernatural that I don’t have time to get into, since there’s about twenty wild implications that could be speculated from that name alone
Stock price on ‘Jackles’ Sexy Silence’, conspiracy that Jensen didn’t like the ending of Supernatural and was quietly plotting to take the narrative under his own control, to bring Dean back to life and possibly to canonise Destiel, reaches historic high
The fact does not go unnoticed that, through coincidence or not, Jensen and Danneel registered the company on a Thursday very close to September 18, the Lazarus Rising/Castiel Anniversary Date when Dean was saved from Hell
JUNE 30: Misha Collins makes a social media post with Castiel art for the last day of Pride Month
Twitter post liked by Robbie Thompson
On his instagram, Misha also puts music on the story of ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’ a song made famous by Elvis and then subsequently Destiel AU Fanfic Twist and Shout
“The song was initially written from the perspective of a woman as “Can’t Help Falling in Love with Him”, which explains the first and third line ending on “in” and “sin” rather than words rhyming with “you” - Wikipedia knowledge obtained via @jurisffiction
Falling… sin… But we don’t have time to unpack all of that-
JUNE 30: 8.17 Goodbye Stranger script excerpt surfaces with Dean’s ‘I love you’ to Castiel
Fandom has long known that the ‘I need you’ was formerly an ‘I love you’ because Jensen believed Dean saying it in that moment to Castiel was out of character - but we did not have the script to prove specific changes
Additional ‘I forgive you’ not included in the episode - the original scene reads as very romantic, since this was Dean absolving Castiel for past crimes and telling him he loves him in the moments before death, as well as ‘I love you’ of course being what ‘broke the connection’ of Naomi’s control
Notably this episode written by Robbie Thompson, the very man Jensen and Danneel chose to helm their next project
JUNE 30: Misha Collins misses his blanky text
To cap all this off, Misha Collins texts fans a selfie of himself at ‘the spare room at Jensen’s apt in Vancouver’, saying he ‘misses his blanky’, implying he has spent many nights there
It has been an open secret that Misha basically shared Jensen’s apartment in Vancouver since around 2018 due to [redacted dubiously obtained information] but it’s never been publicly stated (to be clear, this does not imply anything other than friendship, as actors in Vancouver often share accommodation and Misha had previously couch-surfed at Jared and Jensen’s places)
Cockles shippers go wild. Does the ‘blanky’ refer to Jensen? Was there a reason to send this on the last day of pride month? Will this man ever shut up?
Hope that helps! May this wild carousel of News About A Show That Ended Eight Months Ago never end!

Okay what is “Alma” and what is it in relation to cockles??
okay, if you continue reading this post, you are pinky swearing to being fucking discreet, alright? if everything i'm about to talk about is actually true, then it's extremely personal and it needs to be treated with respect. we do not clown on this subject.
okay. alma perpetua is an instagram account that posts handwritten poetry; mostly love poems. there's no other name or identifying features attached to the account.
the only truly notable thing, aside from the beautiful poetry, is that the account is followed by misha, it follows misha back, and he's the only 'celebrity'/non-poetry account alma follows. sometimes misha posts comments on the alma poems.
last year, the theory gained steam that alma IS misha posting his poetry under an anonymous account, and furthermore, that the bulk of the poems are in fact about jensen. on its face this seems like one hell of a wild assumption, so, since i don't have an instagram account, i ignored the rumors i heard about it for a while.
then i happened to come across this post, which gives an excellent blow-by-blow of the 'clues' that have led people to these theories. i have to admit, the evidence does start to stack up.
people really started talking about it after this poem was posted, exactly seven weeks after the last spn convention in 2020, just before quarantine hit.
Tumblr media
[photo id: a handwritten poem on a piece of paper, reading:
it's been seven weeks since i saw you last. you slipped out the door while i slept leaving only your scent on the pillowcase beside me. i think now that i should have packed it not knowing that the worst of this is just that and that having to soften the edges and trust in the unknowing maybe be the best keepsake of all. x alma
/end photo id]
what got me from 'maybe' to 'holy shit' is when i found a handwritten poem that misha posted on his twitter, and started zooming in to compare them. in my opinion, it's the same handwriting. alma is written more messily, but almost all the letters are formed in the same style.
scroll down on that last link and you'll find a couple more clues, such as a poem about a green parrot + a picture of misha with a green parrot, and a poem about the year's first snowfall, posted shortly after vancouver's first snowfall of the year.
now if you really want to get slapped in the face, here is a poem from a couple months ago where alma writes about about a reunion, presumably with the lover from the above poem.
Tumblr media
[photo id: a laptop screen displaying a poem typed into an email format, with the subject 'resumed' and the poem reading:
fresh from my bed we walk arm over arm along the water, the sand beneath us sinks under our weight. after a year apart, we pick up where we left off-- like an email unsent or a song paused mid chorus.
on this shore, water licking our heels, we revise our ending, we sing off key. behind us, our footprints wash away.
/end photo id]
i admit that when i saw this i had a moment of doubt, because i thought, it seems like we would have heard something that would have tipped us off to one or both of them taking a trip to a beach? maybe it's all just coincidence...
and then bam, the very next day, that motherfucker posted a video of himself on the beach, and tweeted it at jensen for no reason. i think it also coincided with about the time jensen would have been heading north to quarantine before starting work on the boys.
so the thing is that obviously, these poems are deeply personal and emotional and just, just aching with yearning, and it's pretty fucking overwhelming to read these words and consider that not only are these words written by misha, but by misha about jensen. i mean, read these words (again, if you clicked the first link) and consider the possibility that they were written by misha, about jensen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[photo id: two handwritten poems, the first reading:
loving you never felt like falling. it had a weightlessness it wasn't falling at all. it was flying.
and the second poem reading:
i want to love you through loudspeakers to the bleachers; i want to love you in times square on the jumbotron not this quiet thing. it's a scream i'm holding in. x alma
/end photo id]
i don't know about you, but that makes me want to fix myself a nice shattered glass banana fudge sundae.
so, as i started out by saying, we've gotta be fucking discreet here. unfortunately, people leave cheeky comments and blue/green hearts on the alma account, and they usually get deleted, but we need to be respectful - firstly, because we could be wrong and this could be some random person who didn't ask us to swarm their poetry, and secondly, if it is misha, he's sharing something deeply private with us.
however, i can't help but feel that misha actually wants those of us who are obsessed pay attention to know that it's him, because all he had to do was not draw attention to the account by following it and leaving comments on it and no one would have ever even guessed.
with all this palpable yearning, i can easily believe that he wants someone to see, to know, to understand. plus, he's a fucking troll who loves whipping us into a frenzy.
so that's the alma thing. go forth, be discreet, and suffer.
ps: if you're a newbie to cockles stuff, have my masterlist to get better acquainted.

For anyone interested in long-term residence in the supernatural fandom, please have some observations I’ve made over the decade I’ve been here. Take it or leave it as you will, but I’ve found all of this info useful over the years I’ve been here.
I wrote this yesterday, and it achieved its mission of identifying the sort of folks who would react negatively to it (i.e. a lot of block lists have been updated), so now that it’s been edited for content, it’s going under a cut (because that is how we do things on tumblr in general, unless we have a deliberate purpose for annoying readers with excessively long text posts) for the sake of people who actually do care about the fandom and its history. If that’s not you or your reason for being here, then keep on keeping on with your own thing, I guess. For those who are interested, there’s a lot of fandom resources some of us have been building for years that you might enjoy knowing about.
First off, I’ve been informed by a few friends who’ve read through this for coherency’s sake that it sort of reads like a *shakes cane from porch* fandom grandma complaint, but honestly... I earned this rocking chair and goshdangit imma rock now. So apologies for any “back in my day” vibes or faint aroma of tiger balm this post might give off. Then again, it’s loosely based on a similar post from 2012 so like... time is a flat circle anyway I guess.
1. There is no such thing as “tumblr famous,” unless you’re referring to the hilarious and delightful fic of the same name (please go read it, you will cackle). Posting Hot Takes for imaginary Clout™ on this site is kind of pointless in the long run. Sure you can post solely for the sake of stirring shit and getting notes, but the majority of the folks who do aren’t long term residents of the fandom. They’re just tourists moving through our little beach town for spring break. If you’re actually intent on moving to this corner of the fandom for an extended stay, please bother to really feel out the permanent residents and understand the culture and general mood of the neighborhood. It bears no resemblance to whatever’s going on across town where all the bars and beach parities are happening, and those loud, drunken revelers are, again, gonna disappear back to their regular lives or on to the next party eventually. That doesn’t mean the fandom is dying, it’s just evolving.
(funny how I had several comments implying that I’m just trying to keep the fandom from evolving with this post, because I sincerely do want the fandom to continue on for years to come, and that is impossible without evolution. We can evolve without self-immolating, though. mostly i included point 1 for an excuse to push ancient but hilarious fanfic on you.)
2. Once you post something here, it’s been unleashed to the fandom winds. You never know where it will end up, or who will comment on it or add to it. Remember that time Misha tweeted the link to the Epic Cockles Love Story post? No? It was wild. That was 2012. They all know we’re here, and how to find us if they want to. Please don’t take it to their doorsteps.
Obviously if someone is being a dick on your posts, please feel free to block them, but the whole entire point of this site is to engage people with your posts. Being big mad that someone reblogged your post with comments or supporting evidence, or happy headcanons or “HECK THIS IS GREAT BECAUSE (insert personal story about their experience or whatever else made them Feel Things about your post)” is frankly ridiculous. If your goal is to avoid any sort of engagement with your posts, then maybe try instagram instead. From what I understand, there is a SPN fandom presence there, and nobody can tarnish your original posts with unwanted commentary. But the ability to reblog with additional commentary is a FEATURE of tumblr that builds community through conversation. Otherwise we’re all just talking to ourselves in a vacuum, and that’s what actually kills fandoms.
(and for the folks who just want to blog how they want to blog and don’t want people to engage on their posts at all, please feel free to block anyone you want, as well... nobody wants to step on your toes, but most of us also don’t want to walk on eggshells wondering if this post is one of the “do not add comments for any reason” sorts of posts, either. This is a huge fandom and most people can’t even begin to keep track of every creator and their url du jour, and what their personal rules might be regarding interaction with their content. Including a “please don’t add comments” note at the bottom of your posts-- and not in your tags that won’t even show up on reblogs, but in the actual body of the post-- would sincerely help avoid any awkward or unwanted interactions, too. At the end of the day, you are in control of your own fandom experience and the block button exists.
For the record, I block zero fandom blogs (which is why I posted this, I wanted it to reach a wide scope... refer to the opening paragraphs as to why).
3. Since this post was partly inspired by a tag I left on that post going around about how “previous tags” mean fuckall on this site (which you can read here), just a reminder that if you like someone’s tags or feel they add value to the post, part of the Peer Review structure of tumblr encourages you to PASTE THEM INTO A REBLOG. If you do this, then at least credit the person who actually wrote the tags! Don’t just copy someone else’s tags into your tags on your reblog of the post without credit either. They were not YOUR tags. (I have had this happen to tag rambles I wrote and someone else got credited with them on a subsequent reblog and it is FRUSTRATING). Just... don’t even bother to write “previous tags” because WHAT PREVIOUS TAGS?! Nobody is gonna bother to chase back the chain of reblogs trying to find where the mystery tags came from, friendos. That way lies madness.
(for the record, since some folks seemed to focus on this point solely, writing “previous tags” on a post isn’t inherently a BAD thing, but for anyone who actually is here for more than one-off shitposting, then it’s sort of a pointless thing in the long run. This wasn’t intended to suggest people who ARE here for one-off shitposting are bad or “doing it wrong,” but for people who might actually want to preserve that hilarious joke or insightful comment. People delete posts and entire blogs all the time around here. Links break. I get that the upcoming generation just shrugs at that and moves on with their lives, but heck... you don’t have to accept that all entertainment is disposable if you don’t want to. There’s a bizarre sort of nihilism plaguing us all about the impermanence of pretty much everything that feels like something we should be fighting against rather than buying into wholesale, even in our escapist entertainment. I’m just exhausted by the complete loss of joy in community.
*shouts from the peanut gallery* IT AIN’T THAT DEEP, JUST GET SOME FRESH AIR AND LOOK AT A PUPPY OR SOMETHING
Yes... yes it isn’t really that deep, but bigger picture in the state of reality we’re all entirely disillusioned with, are we supposed to just give up on everything, including the things we cling to because they bring us a tiny spark of hope that we’re not all just trapped in this dystopian nightmare and things might actually be worth living for?
*peanut gallery clinging to burnt husks of peanuts in a barren peanut field* but this is how we have chosen to cope
Okay... you do you... I feel bad for you but if that’s the case then this post is NOT FOR YOU. AND THAT’S FINE. I honestly do not care if you don’t care! I mean, I’m sorry anyone has to live in a world that drives them to that mindset, but I understand. This post is for anyone who might look at their lives and their choices and think “no wait, I unironically enjoy this and want more from the experience of that enjoyment than I’m currently feeling.” Everyone else can continue with their lives as usual.)
4. CONTENT THEFT IS NEVER OKAY. PERIOD. Things like “credit to the artist” or tagging gifs or images you found on pinterest as “not mine” isn’t actually credit. If you can’t source an image or gif set, DO NOT POST IT! We don’t REPOST (i.e. save an image and then create a new post with it as if it was our own creation). We REBLOG (click the little square arrows and reblog from the actual creator). That goes for gif sets, fanvids, screencaps, meta, fic... everything.
(hopefully everyone here already understands this one, but I felt compelled to include some “these are stupidly obvious” reminders anyway, since this is ostensibly some sort of advice column. This is the equivalent of the warning label on your toaster reminding you not to use it in the bath. Like... duh...)
5. Close kin of item 4 is SOURCE YOUR SHIT.
(for 100% disclosure purposes, I specifically discussed this one in this specific way because of an influx of anon ask messages I received in the wake of the finale. Literally the inciting incident for creating this entire post was what I can only assume was a joking ask about a comment Misha made at a con years ago. Someone actually bothered to take the time to type out those sentences to me. I have no idea what they were expecting in reply, or what could possibly motivate them to send this comment about something so entirely random from, again, several years ago. Just a joke? No idea, but whatever... it got me thinking that there might actually be people who are new to the fandom who MIGHT actually care about the fandom history, and maybe they just don’t know where to go for that info, or how to even begin searching through 16 years of history for things they might actually find enjoyment in, rather than just hauling random out of context garbage out on main and pointing and laughing about it now. People are actually allowed to care about things. It’s not cringeworthy to actually care about things, and you are not alone in actually caring, and there’s this whole big room over here full of people who are thrilled to share in that with you. This post is intended FOR THOSE PEOPLE SPECIFICALLY, so if that is not you, please just continue walking by.)
Yes, I know lots of y’all are new around here right now, but dredging up stuff from years ago that fandom has completely debunked and presenting it as TRU FAX again is just exhausting. We’re not trying to be party poopers, but seriously, we have seen it all and are mostly done with extinguishing bags of flaming dog poop on our front porches for the umpteenth year in a row. I’ve seen a lot of posts that have the same tone as “I saw Goody Proctor dancing with the devil” or “I heard kylo ren has an eight pack” and just... the information is there for anyone who cares enough to find it.
This goes double for “why is nobody talking about this thing I just discovered while watching the show for the first time?!” And, oh hon, we have talked it all into the ground over the last fifteen years. We’re happy you’re discovering it again, but I promise we talked about it plenty when the episodes originally aired. We have such a rich meta history that lots of us have worked really hard to preserve. I encourage you to seek it out, if nothing else than as historical artifacts. The way we have discussed the show has been a 16-year evolution. People have written literal doctoral dissertations on this show. Your shitposts are fun! We love reliving our own experience through fresh eyes, and seeing your wonder at experiencing it all again for the first time! But y’all didn’t invent this fandom in the last six months, either.

for all your art sourcing needs, please see @theroadsofararchive, the repository for so much fandom art.
need to find a gif of something? canonspngifs is a vast repository of gifsets of the entire series. If the gif you want to use in your post happens to be the first gif in the gifset, in the tumblr gif finder thingy just paste the permalink to that post from canonspngifs (which is easily searchable by episode, character, location, situation, quotes, and sometimes even color and clothing items the actors are wearing... it’s really well organized, especially for tumblr >.>) and the first gif will be automatically linked with credit to the gif creator attached. It makes life easy that way. It’s also convenient when trying to remember something specific but can’t remember what episode it’s from. I’ve used the site to jog my memory before going to the superwiki armed with more specific search results to find episode quotes and references. Or sometimes I just scroll through all the nice gifs for fun, too.
Need a screencap of something and know exactly which episode it’s from? Try Home of the Nutty. You might not find the exact screencap you’re looking for, but they have a complete set of caps of every episode, and it’s an incredibly useful resource for quick reference checks and the like. Just give pages a chance to fully load before clicking on the next one. The site is easily overloaded, but it’s still free to use (and again, with credit... Pretty much every screencap on my entire blog is from HotN unless otherwise credited).
As you can see, this is a fandom built on preserving our history. You absolutely are not required to engage with any of this if that’s not of interest to you, but I can only assume that there are people who would be interested in it if only they knew it existed and how to find it. Well, now they do.
6. A few more notes on tags, and how they work on tumblr. The first 20 tags on your ORIGINAL posts are searchable sitewide, so if you want to be able to find something again, tag that thing first before going on general tag rambles. The only place tags on reblogs are searchable is on your own blog. So you don’t have to put 50 tags trying to get a post seen if it’s a reblog. You’re just spitting into the wind at that point. If you have a filing system for finding things again, then by all means add those tags (again, in the first 20, so they’re searchable), but you don’t need to tag a reblog “destiel” and “deancas” and “dean” and “cas” and “dean x cas” or whatever. Pick one for your personal blog’s filing system, that’s all you need.
(this was only added because tagging and searching on this site is so very broken... I get that a lot of folks don’t care about ever searching their own blogs again for anything, so this one only really applies if you do often find yourself trying to find old posts. If not, then it’s not really relevant.  It took me years to work out a decent tagging system, and at the beginning of my time here I never thought I’d end up camping out here for a decade and falling this deep into the fandom, and I regretted my lack of consistent tags only years later when I realized I actually wanted to be able to go back and find specific old posts again. So... for anyone who wants to err on the side of caution, working out a sensible tagging system really helps if you’re here for the long term. I personally tag content by episode, because some of my other general tags are so large as to be practically useless as a search term. But whatever system you choose to file stuff on your own blog, it really only has to make sense to you. And again, if this is pointless advice for someone who has no intention of settling here for the long term. Please feel free to ignore it. I just wish someone had explained it this way to me ten years ago and saved me the hassle of retroactively tagging something like 30k posts... especially now that using the mass tag replacer is the fastest way to get your entire blog deleted... oops? so yeah, don’t use the mass tag replacer either >.>)
7. Tags on Tumblr DO NOT WORK LIKE TAGS ON TWITTER. If you @ someone in the body of the post, it will show up in their notifications (if they’re the sort of person who even checks their notifications... not all of us do. For the record, I generally don’t...), but putting actor or ship names in the tags on a tumblr post does absolutely nothing. It’s not the same as tagging the actor’s twitter account in a tweet. Nobody’s getting notifications about you tagging a post about Jensen here as “Jensen Ackles.” There is a difference. Please learn it. (and don’t take headcanons and ESPECIALLY RPF or otherwise explicit art or fic from tumblr to twitter and tag the actors in it. That’s just... not okay.)
(I have seen the pearl clutchers getting all in a huff about the mere existence of RPF or even explicit content of fictional characters if it doesn’t meet their purity standards, but tagging those things allows people who don’t want to see it to actively avoid that content here. Nobody has a right to tell people their fictional content shouldn’t exist at all, or that creators of that fictional content somehow deserve harassment or threats for having dared to create such “immoral” content, won’t somebody PLEASE think of the children... and no... you do not do that here. Don’t be the problematic behavior you wish to ban from the world. Learn to use tags to protect yourself from, as i have attempted to emphasize here, fictional content you are personally upset by. That’s a you problem, not a problem for the creators of potentially upsetting content that they tag appropriately for.)
8. General formatting stuff: If you’re writing long text posts, visually break them up so people aren’t faced with one long wall of text. The enter key is your friend. Also, if you put long text posts under a Read More break and send people to your blog to finish reading, please ensure that your blog is actually visually accessible (tiny text, or light grey text on a dark grey background, or a visually busy background might be aesthetically pleasing to you but nobody can actually read it. Loads of folks won’t even try. Which is great if you don’t actually care whether people are able to appreciate your content or not, but something to at least consider if you *do* actively want to encourage engagement with your work. Confirm how your blog looks on both mobile and desktop and make sure it’s actually functional in both, too).
And since I mentioned that most of my experience on fandom tumblr has been in the SPN fandom, here’s a bit of a reminder for folks who are new around here. With the reminder that I have been here more than a decade and still feel like a newbie myself sometimes...
This is an OLD FANDOM. There are many, many people who have been at this longer than some of you have been alive. The average age for creators in this fandom is older than you think (I think of my friends in their 30′s as young’ins okay? okay). With that understood, you are responsible for the content you consume and are exposed to. Curate your experience. Ship and let ship. YKINMKATOK. Don’t deliberately expose yourself to content you find upsetting for whatever reason. Tags and warnings are your friends, not targets for you to attack in some sort of purity war. People will ship things you do not like (or in specific ways you do not like), will say things you do not agree with, and will find their happiness in things you abhor. That is not your concern. Find what you do like, and support and engage with it, and ignore (or block, or unfollow) the rest. Tumblr has a feature that lets you blacklist tags so the content you’re trying to avoid won’t appear on your dash.
Remember the paradox of tolerance.
It is not your job in fandom to police how other people enjoy the fandom. It’s not *my* job to police how *you* enjoy the fandom, UNLESS your enjoyment is in actively harming other real human beings in the fandom. If you don’t like their take on the character or the show or the plotlines or their ships or anything else, you don’t need to engage with their posts at all! The necessary corollary to this is that clarifying misunderstandings or correcting factual misinformation is not “policing.”
(this is where the peanut gallery reminds me it ain’t that deep, and I plead with them to put down the social media and find just one (1) thing to actually believe in in this godforsaken life, find something other than disdain and cynicism and spite to live for. If those things motivate you to find a larger cause for yourself, then great, use them to your advantage, but use them to find something that makes you a better person or brings you a modicum of joy and connection to your fellow human beings despite living in a dystopian hellscape of a world)
I have seen a lot of posts lately that are founded on the sort of authority that comes with “I watched through tumblr for a few months and then watched the last three episodes of the series” and as such are just... missing the larger context of the entire show, and are unfounded entirely in canon. I 100% appreciate the new enthusiasm for the fandom that we’ve been living in here for years, and it’s wonderful to see new people enjoying the thing we love. Your headcanons are valid, you are valid, but recognize that your headcanons aren’t canon. All of us finale denialists have accepted this in some measure, so we feel you. We truly, truly feel you. But regarding actual canon, we have a resource for that: the Superwiki. Learn it, live it, love it, as Metatron would say.
(which you could discover he said in 10.17 Inside Man, thanks to the superwiki! accept no substitutes!)
(and again, there have been people who have been involved in fandom for years who haven’t engaged with canon in years, either! You can play in this universe however you choose, BUT FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT CANON AT ALL, WHICH I AM AGAIN POINTEDLY SAYING MIGHT NOT BE YOU, READER, AND I’M NOT SUGGESTING YOU ARE WRONG FOR NOT WANTING TO ACTUALLY ENGAGE WITH CANON, but if you DO want to engage with canon, please have some useful resources. Why do people feel personally attacked by being presented a list of helpful resources? Absolutely baffling.)
(also: words have definitions. “Canon” is a specific thing, meaning in this case “the finished media product that aired on television.” Anything beyond those limits is secondary canon (think: john’s journal, which is not canon but canon adjacent at best...), word of god (i.e stuff said by the writers and showrunners), or headcanon (which includes actor commentary-- they may have helped create the show with their acting choices and whatever, but they are not in control of the story overall). If there’s something you dislike about actual canon, you can reject it and supplement it with your own theories or preferred outcomes-- that’s basically what fanfic is-- but that doesn’t make your theories canon (much to all our dismay, that’s just not how any of this works. This is not to invalidate how anyone engages with the show or the fandom, just trying to clarify what seems to have been a source of unintentional misunderstandings. Your theories do not have to be “canon” to be legitimate interpretations.)
***I am setting this section apart, and did make a separate post of just this following information, because this is where we go from being relatively chill about different parts of fandom choosing to interact in different ways and you do you and blog however you want, to “hey can everybody please understand that the way you are interacting with this specific material might be harmful for specific legal reasons, and stating that you do not care about the consequences of your actions does actively make you the asshole here...” Okay, now that we have that understood:
The spnscripthunt collective has been steadily acquiring new scripts (which are posted in full on the superwiki for everyone to enjoy, for free). The language around how some folks are talking about these scripts is... concerning. For very real legal reasons, actually, and not because we’re feeling precious about the collection and don’t wike it when meanies use them in shitposts.
-First off, these scripts are not “leaks.” They are all verified and legally purchased (or gifted, in some cases, but still acquired entirely above board. we didn’t whack anyone over the head in a back alley for these scripts, or swipe them out of someone’s trailer on set).
(in case anyone was unaware, these scripts are the copywritten protected property of Warner Brothers. So yes, how we use them and share them with the fandom could have legal repercussions. We present them as a collected resource of fandom history which SHOULD fall under Fair Use doctrine, but this is untested legal water. Insinuating that the scripts are somehow not entirely legally obtained, or that posting them for public access involved less than 100% transparent and entirely legal transactions is incredibly concerning.
Once again for the peanut gallery, if you don’t care about any of that and are just having a good time with it, at least be mindful of the work and expense a large group of people have gone through to acquire and present the content you’re all too eager to exploit for cheap thrills. Some of us do actually care and are not exactly comfortable with the fact that others don’t seem to care about burning it all to the ground. We can’t force you to listen or behave as we’d hope you might, but at least be aware of the potential consequences of your actions. All we’re asking is for you to not be the douchebag who sets the whole neighborhood on fire with your illegal fireworks display. Is that too much to ask for? more on that in a second, first... a psa)
-If you see a script for sale and are unsure if it’s legit (or believe it might already be freely available in our collection), please feel free to ask us for advice. Our goal is to make as much of our fandom history available to the entire fandom, and we absolutely do not want anyone shelling out money for stuff you can already find for free.
(seriously, we’ve seen a bunch of resellers cropping up selling printed versions of the scripts we bought and uploaded for everyone to enjoy free of charge, or scripts that are otherwise of dubious origin. We’ve been at this for years now and know what’s actually out there. We don’t want anyone to fall for a scam if we can help it)
-Also, the usual reminder that the scripts we acquire ARE NOT NECESSARILY THE FINAL SHOOTING DRAFTS. In fact, the majority of scripts in our collection are NOT. Changes are made daily to scripts, even during filming. Comparing a Production Draft (white pages, effectively the first “final draft” of what usually becomes a series of drafts before filming wraps) to a much later revision (say... green or goldenrod revisions, several of which we DO have in our collection for comparison) and how those earlier drafts often differ wildly from the aired version versus how similar a much later green draft is to the aired version, for example, can teach you a lot about the television writing process. The link above to the superwiki scripts page has a nice little explainer about how this process works.
Differences between our posted scripts (many of which are white drafts, aka FIRST complete drafts, which will likely go through multiple rounds of revisions before filming even begins) and the aired version of the show are not all “acting choices” or a director or editor just cutting whole scenes on a whim. It’s insulting to everyone involved in production to suggest that’s the case.
(and yeah, fine... whatever, make any sort of posts you like regarding how those changes came about, but at the very least understand that it’s not actually the truth about how any of this works. Don’t care that that’s not the truth and want to make the posts anyway because shitposting is fun and that’s the extent of your sense of humor? FINE! You’re entitled to do that! But at least you DO know the truth now, and hopefully so do the people who engage with your posts. Deliberate ignorance isn’t cute, smooth lions notwithstanding)
There’s probably a whole other post to be made on fandom tagging etiquette, but again I don’t really use the tags enough to know what’s going on with that whole situation. I’ve also probably left a lot of stuff out, so please feel free to add things I’ve overlooked.
Thanks also to @trisscar368 and @thayerkerbasy for help compiling this, too. They were kind enough to escort me through the park to feed these pigeons. Now I need to take them out for ice cream. :’D
So I guess welcome to the neighborhood. Make yourself at home, but like... try not to trash the place while you’re here. Some of us live here by choice, lol.

Wunmi Mosaku. Vogue.
"Despite the widening celebration of self-love and body positivity that she encountered on social media when she joined Instagram in 2018, “there’s still a lot of pressure to look a certain way” in film and television.
The Lovecraft team understood what they had in her. Mosaku, who is wild about fabric and loves to sew, reflects that she “felt really beautiful on Lovecraft,” giving props to costume designer Dayna Pink for her selections. Off-set, without elaborate hair and makeup assistance, her aesthetic is streamlined. “Day-to-day, I feel most beautiful wearing some skinny jeans, a little sweatshirt, and an African head wrap with my glasses, maybe a little bit of lipstick and blush, and some hoops. Especially when I’m on my bike. I don’t know why, but when I’m on my bike I feel on top of the world. That is when I feel most myself.”
Lovecraft creator, writer, director, and executive producer Misha Green praises Mosaku’s versatility, one possible explanation for the parts that keep coming her way. “The role of Ruby was easily one of the most complex and dangerous roles. It required an actor who could be sexy and confident yet vulnerable; someone who is a bit jaded by life, but also an ingenue introduced to a world of magic where anything is possible, even her darkest fantasies. Wunmi threaded all of those complicated layers seamlessly from her first audition—where she left both Jurnee Smollett and me in tears.”

"Just look at how all his skeevy comments to Jensen are pointed implications Jensen is submissive to him, which is a fucking objectification power play." YES, well said, thank you. I'm so glad more people are finally starting to notice this and talk about it, because I've been observing this dynamic for years and been growing increasingly angry and creeped out by it.
I'm the cockles anon who sent you an ask regarding Misha's jacket a while ago and like I said I know a lot about the topic of cockles. One of my useless talents is that once something grabs my attention, I tend to remember every little detail about it.
So I have a mental catalogue spanning an entire decade now of every creepy, sexual, bdsm-related, objectifying, power-playing or otherwise inappropriate remark or "joke" Misha has ever made towards Jensen (and in general). Every con panel, every interview, every post or reply on his Twitter or Instagram where he has said something along these lines, I've seen it.
And it's... a lot.
That man is just giving me the worst vibes. Either ruthless psychopath who will do anything for money and to stay relevant vibes or just plain old predator vibes, if he really does have a sexual interest in Jensen, I can't quite tell.
And if we truly live in the dark time line where Jensen and Misha actually do have some kind of thing going on, then I feel sorry for Jensen. He could do so much better than Misha. And cockles actually being real would only add a whole other layer of creepiness to this already creepy and disturbing situation.
But most cockles stans don't see that. Quite the opposite, they get off on the idea of Jensen being in some weird bdsm-type relationship where he's submissive to Misha. If it wasn't already obvious from some of their more disgusting posts, tags, comments etc on Tumblr, you just need to take a look at some of the most popular destiel and cockles fanfics and authors on ao3, it's all "dom cas/misha", "top cas/misha" and "sub dean/jensen", "bottom dean/jensen" these days. And what feels like practically every other fic at least has a "dom/sub undertones" or "light dom/sub" tag.
And all of that can be directly blamed on Misha, for the most part. Jensen has always been one of the most heavily objectified and sexualized male actors or artists I've ever come across, but Misha has made it so, so much worse over the years. He truly makes me sick and I can only hope more and more people will open their eyes to just how much of a fucking creep and asshole this man is.
It really is creepy.
Jensen in particular does seem to have such a disproportionate number of people who just want to see him as a sex object and prop to bolster their actual fave. The actors don't care about being treated like horny sex objects in their fanfic, and their fanfic is totally based on what they "know" about the actors, so it's fine to treat real people like that! They're just "helping" the actors to feel free to publicly own up to what they already know, you see. It's one thing for the fans to do. A gross thing, creepily divorced from reality and blind to how one-sided their relationship to their idea of who the actors are is. But it's all part of having trouble divorcing fiction and reality and treating the actors, who are real people who live at least 90% of their lives out of the spotlight, like the caricatured characters in their fantasies constructed from sometimes wild "interpretations" of that other 10% we see.
It is entirely another situation to treat someone you actually personally know and have worked with like a mute sex object. They want to see Misha tweeting and talking about Jensen that way as "flirting" and intimacy, but it's not. It's not reciprocal, for one. If Jensen was responding regularly, that'd be one thing. Even negatively, it'd be a type of engagement. He doesn't, though, it's just Misha regularly making a public spectacle of himself by pointedly sexualizing Jensen for his own aggrandizement. For another, it does often specifically involve Misha implying domination or a lack of masculinity on Jensen's part; given the wider cultural context, it's pointedly demeaning and reductive of Jensen into a submissive sex toy. I.e. it's really about power, and using sex as tool to that end. Not only could Jensen do a million times better than Misha, that would be an insanely shitty way to publicly treat someone who was actually a partner. Shippers who don't want to see that are never going to see that, though. Especially since they themselves want to fantasize about making Jensen into someone more malleable that will follow their lead if they tantrum loud enough - like Misha does.
For a long time I waffled between thinking Misha was genuinely just kind of clueless and bad at thinking through the appearance and consequences of his actions, and suspecting that he was just using that kind of persona as a cover for being a calculating dickhead who cares about nothing but himself and his own ego. I've leaned more and more towards the latter over the years. I actually think Misha having genuine sexual interest in Jensen would make the whole thing a magnitude worse, because it's bad enough to sexualize someone you don't give a crap about either way as a power play, it's full on incel territory to do it because they won't let you possess them.

SPNews
26th January 2021
No official news.
Another piece of script gets leaked out. This time from season 8, confirming yet again subtext deliberately written into the show.
Tumblr media
Scene cuts to Dean finding Cas in Purgatory.
Daneel posts on instagram wideo of Jensen playing with his children. Fandom freaks out little bit.
Twitter tries to manifest books/documentaries about down the middle split going through the entirety of spn cast, crew and execs on theme of direction in which the show should've gone
Kings of Con podcast with Misha premieres on patreon.
Vague spoilers ahead:
Fandom fixating on Misha's weird, out of character response on mention of SPN caused by unknown factors (it might've been fault of bad ending or it might've been fault of postfinale crazyness still going strong. He mentioned being burned out because of how he operated between the show and the Cons.
Overall podcast was quite entertaining, very random, wild and chaotic. Recommend checking it out. It will premiere on 27th Jan on Spotify.
What will happen tomorrow?
And now weather

You probably won't answer that, but I'm starting to believe that Sebastian loves Misha more than Jensen. He constantly expresses in comments that he loves him. I haven't seen anything like it from Jensen yet
Nonny, what you (we) are allowed to see (comments on Instagram and Twitter) is far from what’s happening in the real world. You and me both have no idea what’s going on between Seb and Misha when there’s no audience, even less we know about what’s going on between Jen and Misha.
For Seb it’s easier to be vocal about supporting Misha, because he doesn’t have so much attention glued to their interactions, he doesn’t feel like a germ under the microscope, every single word and movement is not analyzed and talked about for years.
Jensen has to be careful about what he shows, because the tiniest thing can make some wild shit trend on Twitter. I mean, the snow shoveling incident? Seb doesn’t hold that much power.
And with the great power comes great responsibility. Every proof of affection from Jensen is worth 10x more (in regards of public reactions), and so he has to be wise about letting it be seen.
What I mean is, don’t be so quick to judge the relationship between two people, when all you know about them is whether they like and comment on each other’s posts.
Seb is awesome, I love him with all my heart. He’s an ally and a friend, and he surely loves Misha.
But on other hand, *Jensen’s voice* who doesn’t?

okay so i’ve been going crazy these past few days. all about cockles/jensmish and obsessively watching their panels or reading the transcripts BECAUSE. THEY ARE LOUD. LIKE. i saw some fancams on twt and i thought people were just exaggerating but noooooooooo!!!???? so, getting to the point. you said that how do we know that jensen is performing masculinity? because jared isn’t and THAT IS A BIG BRAIN MOMENT. ON POINT. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. a particular moment from gag reel that jumps out (which you’ve talked about) when jensen goes ‘cas, you are my baby daddy’ and misha goes, ‘i know i love you too’ and jensen goes, ‘i didn’t say i love you’ and misha goes, ‘i know you wanted to’ and jensen says, ‘i love you’ WHAT THE FUCK! that was NOT a joke. yes, people took it as a joke and had a good laugh BUT I HAVE WATCHED IT TOO MANY TIMES AND IT LIVES IN MY MIND RENT FREE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A PERFORMANCE. THAT WAS JENSEN. THAT WAS MISHA. jensen has a had trouble with the pda and being all touch feely (the breakup theory) and he gradually grew into it, accepted it and misha was right there all along, never pushed it. it was like a deancas au but tbh, 99% of destiel is because of cockles and we all know it. i just. jensen has latched onto dean as an emotional support because he tunes with it. understands it. projects on to it. yeah, i just had to say it and get it off my chest. (and what about those poetry pages on instagram? alma? what is your opinion?) btw, you have a lovely blog and your analysis are right on target.
so there is a LOT i’m going to address here(how dare you bring up [gunshot] i HAVE to talk about it now) so again!!!! under a cut it goes but i hope you appreciate my rambles anon it seems like you do :,)
1. jared vs. jensen and performing masculinity. hell yeah man. jared and jensen are both just ‘guys from texas’ but they are still so vastly different. today i actually had a revelation that i’m pretty sure has to do with me being bi. and it’s that i have a group of straight friends(that i love dearly but they care too much about hockey and pitbull imo could not be me) and i have a group of queer friends(who are also batshit[affectionate]). and it’s like whichever group i hang out with a different side of me emerges? they’re both me, it’s just that certain aspects of who i am as a person only surface depending on who i am around. however, i will say i feel like i watch what i say around my straight friends more. i see that very clearly in jensen as well. around jared during panels and on set, he’s definitely putting on an air of machismo and engages in typical guy talk. i do think an element of it is performative, because he wants validation from jared that they’re still just two dudes from texas taking on the world together despite his sexual identity. does that make any sense??? i hope so. but when he’s with misha he is an entirely different person and his sense of humour becomes wildly different. the machismo fades away, he’s way less caught up in what people think about him, lets his guard down, etc. to go back to my original point which is how j2 are different in that regard....jared does not do this. he is a constant. he does not flip a switch between ‘performing masculinity’ and ‘not’ because he isn’t performing any part of who he is. he just IS. so yeah these two are similar in many regards but there’s somewhat of a dissonance between them when it comes to how they perform masculinity because one of them is putting on a show and the other is merely being.
2. that crypt scene blooper(here just in case you need to see it again. do it. as a treat.) when i tell you i have easily seen this over thirty times??? since it first came out??? i mean it. it is such an overlooked(r*mantic) moment and it means so much more than people think it does. i’ve talked about the context behind it, and i think that’s why this blooper was so meaningful, so i’ll mention it again. jensen and misha had a LOT of trouble with this scene. the reason is that jensen couldn’t wrap his head around why dean would be saying these things, if i remember correctly, and both of them sat down and scoured over how they should play it for a while before filming(teamwork ;) teammates *ahem*). [to be honest we all know why jensen had a hard time with that scene and it is because it is blatantly romantic. rip to him but i would simply give in to it at that point but oh well] so anyway, their heads were scattered going into shooting, which is NEVER a good headspace to be in for a scene, ESPECIALLY not a pivotal one. but they had each other to help them through said weird energy on set that couldn’t possibly have invoked the best feelings, especially considering jensen STILL doesn’t think he played that correctly(but he praised misha on his performance :,) ). and with that context every single part of that video hits haRD
-’stop pulling my face towards your crotch’ i think this is objectively hilarious because it really really looks like jensen is pulling HIMSELF towards misha’s crotch. again, you’re fooling no one, jensen. misha’s wheezing laugh and the way he wraps himself around jensen is also,,,sweet??? like i don’t know how else to describe how i see it but this moment really reads as jensen, in his weird ‘constructing elaborate rituals’ way is asking for security through a physical touch from misha and he happily obliges and gives jensen what he needs. because i mean...watch it again. jensen ‘fights back’, but not really at all, actually. pretty wimpy counterattack. he literally lets himself be smothered by misha, and i would literally describe what they end up doing as cuddling.
-’i need you, cas. you’re my baby daddy’ i love having an actor’s perspective on things bc i think i can explain what’s going on here. jensen just delivered what was(in his own mind) a rotten take of the lines he’s most scared of delivering. so the scene was already messed up. therefore; ensuing fuckery is warranted to help him feel better. but there’s also for sure more than meets the eye for what he says here because of misha’s reaction after??? like he seemed genuinely touched. first of all, he’s saying ‘you’re my baby daddy’ as half-jensen, but not necessarily dean either(because he didn’t say the previous lines as true to his character...you get it), to misha, not cas. i think i’ve made this point before, but every single innuendo in the gag reels is to misha specifically, never once cas. therefore; logical conclusion: ‘you’re my baby daddy’ was for misha and it meant something deeper than we think because of what follows it
-this part. jensen’s giddy ass smile after he sees misha crack and then misha says ‘yeah, i know’ (can i just say his voice when he says this is so intimate???? like am i intruding guys??? sorry i’ll let myself out) also he is smiling SO BIG
- ‘i know’ ‘why are you laughing?’ ‘no i know i love you too’ this analysis is already so long but i still want to get into what THAT whole exchange means. ‘why are you laughing?’ to me sounds like jensen’s pretending to be affronted by misha laughing at something that is serious. and it’s serious because he quite literally meant ‘i love you’. he did. misha knows it. misha’s really REALLY good at cutting the bs and just getting to what people are actually trying to say. he has an innate sharpness to his sense of humour. so yes, misha is being 100% accurate when he says ‘i know, but you wanted to say it.’ misha isn’t lying here. jensen did want and mean to say ‘i love you’. and then he actually does say it(in a jokey way but not really).
- so yeah. it is actually so romantic??? like in a weird way jensen was professing his love for misha here?????? and that’s why this clip will NEVER. ever. get old.
3. jensen having trouble with pda and projecting onto dean: we can all call ourselves dean coded cas girls but NO one deserves that title more than jensen ackles himself. he is dean winchester but marginally less repressed because he actually did admit he was in love with his best friend and let himself be happy, and pretty early on too. one year and two months as opposed to twelve years. so. happy deancas au is correct. and yes about the pda thing: one day i want to write my own post about both of their body language when it comes to each other, but all i can tell is jensen, even in the early days, couldn’t help himself from flirting with misha, but if misha ever crossed a line, jensen would not be happy. clearly he’s come around, however. what i find sweet is that misha always follows jensen’s lead when it comes to how much affection they’re allowed to show each other onstage. it touches my soul
4. destiel is cockles fault. yeah. and the thing is everyone knows it, too. even non-cockles shippers will explain early destiel as entirely dependant on jensen and misha’s wild chemistry. and that chemistry is easily explained by the fact that misha and jensen are literally just wildly horny bisexuals who were crazily attracted to one another and were falling in love on screen before our very eyes. and when you have THAT insider info(which sounds cray doesn’t it!!!! the destiel actors are in love irl??? huh???) everything really does click into place. why destiel got SO popular when the show and actors never ever intended for it to happen.(i know some people think misha was playing cas as gay the whole time for shits and giggles, and i won’t deny that[especially considering he found out early on that destiel was why he was staying on the show], but i don’t think he really wanted it to amount to anything, nor did he care??? i mean he has the real thing with jensen, for one, so their characters aren’t really as important. for two, he loves joking about destiel because it’s a cultural phenomenon and it’s fascinating, and i’m sure he did ship it because he’s unhinged, but i don’t think it was vastly important to him either way.) destiel got popular because everyone was and is unintentionally reading into the real deal. i could pull up countless gifs that people have used as destiel proof that is actually just jensen and misha being messy. mainly jensen. if i’m being honest.  the symbiotic relationship between destiel and cockles is why i’ve stayed onboard the destielcule and shellerscape for three solid months now; because it is utterly fascinating to witness and kind of super beautiful, too.
5. alma(and others). so. i do NOT want to really REALLY get into this in its entirety here and now so i will just give you my opinion on if i think alma is misha or not. also; i don’t want to mention the other poetry accounts here bc i feel like that’s a bigger breach in privacy, but a lot of people do know about alma now. way too many, actually. this is why we can’t have nice things. anyway-to answer your question-there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that yes, misha is running that alma poetry account. i am 100% certain. some people think it’s actually three people and they’re all connected to misha in some way but that is so needlessly complicated. as it goes in psychology; the easiest explanation is probably the right one. it’s just one person running that account, and it is misha collins. i don’t know why it’s so hard to believe KNOWN POET misha collins(who is known to spend most of his free time writing poetry anyway) would have created a secret poetry account to write about his intense secret relationship under an alias and also get legitimate feedback since no one used to know it was him. oh and the handwriting is identical??? you are blind if you do not see that i am sorry. and a million other things prove it’s misha too but yeah all you need to know is yes. it’s him. it would take a literal livestream from a random woman on that account to convince me otherwise. and honestly not even that because a random woman could technically still log in if misha asked her too. so. it would take a hell of a lot to convince me otherwise, clearly. that said DO NOTTTTTTTTTTTT GO ONTO THAT ACCOUNT WITH A SUPERNATURAL RELATED USERNAME AND COMMENT THINGS THAT ARE COCKLES RELATED. ARE YOU BRAIN DEAD WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT’S OKAY. sorry i got heated but god please just don’t be dumb so many people have already gone way too far
6. thank you for your lovely compliment on my analyses!!! i love doing them but i don’t know if people actually like reading them so i really appreciate it

i hate this so much. all these newbies are coming in and making shitposts that spread to fucking newsweek and i would not blame misha if he distanced himself from us. i don't care if he joked about it years ago i think all the memes last night went way too far.
i’ve been taking a bit of a break from fandom these last two weeks but yeah, every time i do come on, there’s old news being dredged back up and it’s kind of funny sometimes, but a lot of it is bringing back old discourse and wank? apparently there is an ageism thing going on where new, younger fans think everybody over a certain age is a pervert??? this is literally one of the oldest fandoms on tumblr. i was a teen when i joined this fandom and now i’m in my mid-twenties. there are a lot of fans here in their 60s. literally all the best fic and art and creations on this site are made by older fans??? wild. 15 years of a show!!! @youngfans this isn’t riverdale lmao
but yeah, as for misha, i think he’ll just find the bill clinton stuff funny, but also, he’s been far more involved with politics lately than before, and seeing an old article where he joked about an old president does not reflect well on him when he’s got ties with the upcoming president. we laughed about obama unfollowing that one destiel twitter account but it sure would not be funny if biden unfollowed misha from instagram. that one would hurt.
it’s nice and refreshing to see new faces in fandom! but everybody should take a moment to reflect before they hit post on whatever they’re thinking about. if it’s old news, it’s not new news and chances are, we’ve already seen it! don’t tweet about cockles to celebrities. rps is for fan eyes only. and don’t ask the cast about stuff they did a decade ago! people grow and learn!

as my resident spn blogger, can you please explöain what the hell is going on?
I SIMPLY LOVE WHEN PEOPLE TELL ME THAT I AM THEIR RESIDENT SPN BLOGGER, it's an honour to be here to represent my nation at your own personal tumblr olympics etc... okay well. Essentially, the SPN actors Jensen Ackles and his wife Danneel Ackles formed a company called 'Chaos Machine Productions' (You can't make this up. Chaos Machine. Well. They sure did name it accurately!). Yesterday, two main things happened with respect to that company - firstly, news that the head of development at the company was actively campaigning for more LGBT+ stories, and the instagram having a pride icon etc., which was IMMEDIATELY BURIED by the news that this production company seemingly have the rights to the Supernatural intellectual copyright, and for their first show are working on a show about the 'epic love story' of John and Mary Winchester.
Now, this was controversial with ALL sides of online fandom (Destiel shippers, Wincest shippers, bibros/redditors, etc.) because John Winchester is widely (but not universally) regarded as an abusive father towards Sam and Dean, so the proposition of putting him as a protagonist did Not sit well with most people. In addition, you have the Destiel faction pissed off that this series obviously doesn't address Castiel or Destiel, and the Wincest/BiBro faction pissed off it's... not about the brothers. Nobody really wants a show about Sam and Dean's parents. Hell, they're not really an 'epic love story' - canonically they only fell in love because angels wanted their bloodlines for Sam and Dean to be born, so they forced love through cherub magic. However, at the helm is Robbie Thompson, one of Supernatural's very best and most Destiel & LGBT-friendly writers. Once initial ire dies down people are a bit more optimistic to know Jensen seems to have the rights to Supernatural in general and wants to do a lot of 'gap filling' with regards to canon.
Anyway this news was retweeted by Jensen... and then by Misha, who seemed to, along with other members of the cast such as Rowena, Anna and Adam's actors, kind of say 'haha room for us??? spare employment???' But oh, then Jared Padalecki logged on and made it very clear that he was not aware of this prequel series and was pretty pissed off about not being in it or aware of it. Basically livetweeted a public best-friendship fall out. He even TWEETED Robbie Thompson with this, (and then deleted it) which is honestly. Pretty wild. He may or may not have also unfollowed/refollowed Misha and Jensen on twitter/instagram (sources around this are sketchy). That's the summary of events. Jared has also followed up with a tweet this morning which is. Very funny to me, no further comment.
This also adds to the 'J2 Fallout Theory' (J'squared' referring to Jensen and Jared) that Jensen and Jared, despite famously being very close friends on the show, became Less Close in the wake of a season finale that had Dean killed off and centred around Sam, which Jared seemed to like and Jensen... did not seem to like. Adding to this are the tidbits that Jensen apparently turned down a) the starring role and then b) a directing part on Walker, Jared's current CW show, and that Danneel and Gen Padalecki unfollowed each other on social media. This whole thing has also led to retroactive viewing of J2 interactions like this in a new light.
Biggest L of course to the J2 romantic relationship truthers. RIP to the oldest conspiracy theorists in the fandom. And also the CONVENTIONS that are booked with J2 PANELS AS THE MAIN MONEY-MAKING ATTRACTION.
In addition, various writers have tweeted or liked comments that added fuel to the fire around the issue. (i.e. show creator Eric Kripke confirming he knew about it and liking Misha's tweet, writer Robert Berens laughing at the J2 truthers, Sebastian Roche casting shade on Jared in code, Meghan Fitzmartin just… liking that… tumblr text post... Meanwhile writer Steve Yockey meanwhile liking shady tweets about bad showrunners which seems like almost entirely unrelated shade @ Robert Singer and/or Andrew Dabb and/or others.) But the summary is: content is BACK ON, baby!

I can’t believe Jensen and Jared have been friends for this long. If my so called best friend was racist, kept glorifying the things he knows damn well hurt me in interviews and not to mention the way he treated my other best friend (Misha in this case) I would’ve dropped him as a friend a long time ago and I’m not even talking about all the other bad things Jared has done. I personally think they’ve stayed friends because well, what other option do you have when you have to work together that close but now that they don’t he doesn’t have to pretend anymore. And honestly good for him
Who knows, honestly, I am not that quick to judge this and their relationship because I don’t know much, but things do seem off lately, maybe we are reading to much into the ‘who liked who’s instagram post’ thing, but J/2 really seemed to be good friends for a long time, like genuinely, and now the vibes are weird and we just! don’t! know! what really went down, the finale thing is still reeking and Jensen was done dirty and he wasn’t supported by J/red when he said the finale didn’t sit right with him... You might be right though, but I guess we’ll never know? Jensen seems to be the person who really keeps his opinions to himself (on private matters) so we may never know what he really thinks. So what we have left is wild spec. And in that case I lowkey agree with what you said.
