Note
they really should've let misawa be in a tag team duel with judai against mizuchi's henchmen
Honestly they should've let them team up at any point in general, I think they would've made a really cool tag team I would've loved to have seen what they could've come up with for that match up.
GX just needed more tag matches in general, those are always so fun and engaging to watch and a lot of my favorites duels in general are tag matches so I would never complain about there being any more of them lolol

Me and the kiddos took the opportunity to join in on a city tour of Misawa last week and I learned so much. Not just about the place I live, but my capacity as a parent.
Slight disclaimer--Sometimes you just need to remind yourself of the honest truth and it is this:
I had different expectations for my kids on this trip.
This would have been more enjoyable going by myself, instead I was mostly playing referee between two bored kids that just wanted to pick on each other, but I tried my best to soak it all up.
So here goes:
We started the tour with three local guides who filled us in on all things food and entertainment in Misawa and Hachinohe. They had a ton of recommendations for what the cities had to offer and I tried my best to write them all down on my phone. The list is long, y'all. We will not be bored here.
Tumblr media
Before we headed to the International Center, the tour guide told us of local markets, eateries and fun places in town. Because of the Tanabata Festival just a week or so prior to the tour, there were a few streets that were familiar to me.
Tumblr media
When we got to the International Center, the guides provided a 30 minute presentation giving history of Misawa, the surrounding areas and even practiced simple Japanese phrases with us. Very interesting and helpful!
We hopped back on the bus and headed to Hachinohe, a town about 30 minutes from Misawa where we would explore the Fish Market and eat lunch.
When we stepped off the bus, a kind tour helper offered to assist me and the kiddos around the market. He was so patient and helpful, but I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed when we first walked in. It was busy and there was a lot to take in--sights, smells, noises and all while I was just trying to get my daughter set up in her stroller without losing my son.
Eventually we found our pace and started making our way through. The guide took to us like a gentle grandfather figure and even pushed the stroller for me. I think he could sense my anxiousness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first thing he wanted to do was show the kids the fish tank when entering the market. He then took us through the food and market portion where you are surrounded by all sorts of different vendors. We saw ice cream, churros, baked goods, produce and other foods. We picked a relatively popular dish to eat for lunch called yakitori--aka chicken on a stick. In its food container, the chicken laid on a bed of rice. While we were eating, the guide went and got the kids some mini churros! They loved them, of course.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once we finished lunch, he led us through the open fish market. There were so many interesting things! We saw eel, octopus, even puffer fish! We didn't purchase any, but it's absolutely the place to go if you are looking for fresh seafood for dinner.
The kids were most intrigued with it as we walked through aisles of people and fish. Eventually, they began to feel restless and we went to the top level to let the kids play in the indoor playground while me and the guide talked more about the city of Hachinohe. He said he has lived there for 13 years and told me other places he recommends that I visit when we come back--one being a Korean BBQ place. Yes, please!
We gathered the kids up and explored a little bit longer before heading back to the shuttle bus.
As shown below, these types of arcade games are HUGE in Japan. Claw games are very popular and they had Kirby!
Tumblr media
Our next and final stop before heading back was the Shinto Shrine. This was probably the cherry on top of the trip. It was beautiful! The kids were exhausted and played in the dirt while we were given a presentation, but had a good time walking around the shrine. We purchased a shrine stamp collection book known as a Goshuincho.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I let Teddy pick out the Goshuincho and he was very excited. I truly hope we will visit as many shrines as we can and collect the beautiful art. Maybe that can be something Teddy and I plan out while we are here.
In the photos you might notice there are white-lightning type shaped paper on different entry ways. These are referred to as "Shide" and represent holy spaces.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When we got back on the bus, we were exhausted. The day had been filled with so many cool things to do and see. The kids were mostly interested in their cotton candy and I did let them have a little bit on the bus.
On our way back to Misawa, the guides gave us more recommendations for local eateries and provided some tips and tricks for making the most of our time here.
Overall, it was a great way to learn more about what our local and adjacent towns had to offer. I'm looking forward to going back to Hachinohe to show Trevor around. Maybe even go back to the Fish Market and take our time there. Trevor was unable to join us as he was, and I quote, "meditating next to a waterfall." Whoa.
All that to say, if there's one thing I learned, it's good to explore with your kids. Even if it was a little frustrating and stressful at times, it was good for them to see where they live. It was good for us all to experience a culture apart from what we knew up to this point. I hope one day they will look back and appreciate the travel. Even if all they wanted to do was rub their legs in dirt, eat cotton candy and tell me they were bored. I bet they saw and enjoyed more than I think they did.
Kids keep you humble when you travel. There are times when I envy our young married friends that get to travel wherever and whenever they want. It must be really cool to experience Japan in that way.
But I know that it's also really cool to get to travel and see the world with your kids. They get an opportunity that not many kids do. I'm working on my patience. I'm working on expectation management. It's my first time doing this, too, so I absolutely learned from mistakes I made on the city tour to make next time a little easier to manage...hopefully.
Until then, I'm choosing to be grateful for this time. It truly is so cool that we get to be here!

indie wrestler forced to retire at the age of 30 with a body racked by injuries wearing a printout of his 7.5 average cagematch rating like a medal. jk
seriously tho wreslters plz start taking care of themselves in an industry that doesn't give af abt them. MJF was so right abt this
Wheeezing--- but make that a 5.4 rating
Anyway, like I don't even mind the Forbidden Door spot, it's whatever, their choice and risk to take in a huge ppv and my observation was moreso that Ospreay did it weird, like Misawa's rarely looks that crunchy, 9/10 times it's more safe.
I understand the *discourse* and personal attacks on individual wrestlers are fucking annoying, but it's also fucking annoying that people go "LOL that's PRO Wrestling and it's fucking AWESOME BABY let's hear those bones cRUNCh" as if it's not a form of entertainment that has killed so many in the ring or just left them severely crippled, paralyzed, suffering from strokes, with brain damage and in constant pain for the rest of their lives.
It really sucks that you can't talk about that without it being an attack on individuals who risk their lives for something they are passionate about (and also sometimes because they are young and stupid and want to be noticed and haven't yet gotten a receipt for their actions), but it is also, I repeat, an industry which kills people quite frequently and just taking that for granted like you're owed people's bodies for your pop is disgusting.
And posting gnarly fucking spots where people are dropped on the head (not even talking Tiger Driver) in the 80s or 90s is not the own they think it is. Benoit's brain was scrambled eggs, Dynamite Kid was in a wheelchair age 40, Mick Foley lives with chronic pain, the people who did these things for you, either because they didn't know any better or because they didn't care at the time, paid the price.
Also going "yeah but did you know this guy tore a pec while doing this basic move" is super disingenuous. Yeah, accidents happen, but I'd frankly rather have a muscle tear on a hip toss than land on my spine and die on the spot, but that's just me!

The internet is littered with “Sports Entertainment” vs. “Pro Wrestling” discussion, and I’ve always been of the mind that the perfect show is never just one thing. WWE goes too blown sports entertainment for my tastes, and AEW tends to be too early 00s message board smart mark pro wrestling. To me, a great wrestling show has room for a Misawa vs. Kobashi match, and Crash Holly Hardcore Title shenanigans, you know?

I've been watching some Kings Road (and specifically Misawa) matches lately, and while very good there is an uncomfortable air in all of them. I am essentially watching a man slowly kill himself, and it is a little hard to watch knowing how much pain he was in and how he died.
I get that a feeling a lot watching wrestling. I will be sitting there, enjoying a match and suddenly my brain goes "Nither of these people can get up in the morning without pain, you are watching two humans destroy themselves for your entertainment." And I just sit in that for a moment... and then go back to enjoying the match, now with a feeling of ickyness.
Alright, my apologies for making you read that. It is very rambley and probably doesn't make any sense but I wanted to get my thoughts out. What a fucking business man.

The Blue Brand Wrestling Blog #2 - Some Random Thoughts (Pro-Wrestling NOAH, Toni Storm & Ricky Starks)
The Blue Brand Wrestling Blog
THEBLUEBRANDWRESTLINGBLOG.BLOGSPOT.COM
The Blue Brand Wrestling Blog #2
Some random thoughts (Pro-Wrestling NOAH, Toni Storm & Ricky Starks)
Hey there guys & girls,
I’m Andy Mac, AKA The Blue Brand owner and creator (@The_Blue_Brand) on X / Twitter. I thought I would delve into the world of blog writing and what better thing to write about than my favourite pastime Professional Wrestling.
Today I thought I’d discuss a few random things in the world of Professional Wrestling -
Tumblr media
Pro Wrestling NOAH
First of all, let’s discuss Pro Wrestling NOAH, a company based out of Japan, founded in the year 2000 by former All Japan Pro Wrestling ace Mitsuharu Misawa. My interest in the company first peaked in Autumn 2022 whilst watching Café De René on YouTube. (If you’re not already watching the live streams Rene Dupree and company upload usually around twice a week you’re really missing out.) Stumbling across this channel by chance, I discovered that René had been working in Japan for quite some time and latterly worked for Pro Wrestling NOAH before returning to Canada from Japan. Don't get me wrong, I had heard of the company previously, but never knew where to watch it, the history of the company etc..
I’d been having a little bit of a slump with my enthusiasm for Professional Wrestling at the time – I was tired of watching my Ruthless Aggression playthrough on the WWE Network that I had started during the pandemic in 2020. The current WWE product is hard to watch at times for a fan who has watched religiously through the Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression Era. So, this left me with watching podcasts of stars I enjoyed in the past and fondly remembering the old days with YouTube channels like Wrestling Bios. (Another great channel to check out!)
When I noticed the advert for Pro Wrestling NOAH on the end of a Café De René show on YouTube one day, I thought to myself, why not check this out? Pure wrestling, hard and stiff with great storytelling and a roster full of talent.
Three of my favourites that have stood out so far are Kaito Kiyomiya, Kenoh and Naomichi Marufuji. Kiyomiya is a fantastic young talent, my first NOAH match was Kiyomiya Vs Kenoh for the GHC Heavyweight Championship in September 2022. Kenoh, leader of an awesome faction called Kongo came into this match as the champion, in a stiff and hard-fought battle the two men battered each other for 26 minutes before Kiyomiya managed to get the win.
If you’re looking for some great and hard hitting, back and forth action with good story telling then give NOAH a chance. I’ve found it refreshing and I’ve even signed up to Wrestle Universe, an app / website that can be bought for ¥900/month (Just under £5 here in the UK) I’ve been using it this week to catch up on the N-1 VICTORY 2023 from the 3rd September.
If you want to maybe watch a few matches first, get a feel for the company and what it has to offer then I would recommend checking out the Pro Wrestling NOAH Official English Channel on YouTube. It uploads the occasional full-length match on there – Oh, and don’t worry it has English commentary. If you decide to check it out, let me know what you think!
Tumblr media
'The Illustrious’ Toni Storm
Secondly, lets quickly discuss Toni Storm and her recent shift in character on AEW television. Her backstage interviews with Renee Young, Lexy Nair and Tony Schiavone across AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision have been extremely entertaining. She’s nailing it with the change of look, slight change of accent, facial expressions, comedic timing (Bouncing off the interviewer with chemistry, funny moments, and perfect timing – And of course throwing the shoe!) and the creation of an interesting character within the AEW women’s division. I’ll openly admit I’ve only just started paying attention to AEW again in the last few weeks, but Toni Storm has immediately stood out as the best thing going in their women’s division. If they book her right, this incarnation of Toni Storm has a lot of longevity in it – Let’s keep an eye on the illustrious Toni Storm moving forward.
Side note – If there are any other women wrestlers on the AEW roster I’m sleeping on, let me know!
Tumblr media
Ricky Starks
And finally, just a quick note on Ricky Starks. Apart from CM Punk, FTR, Christian Cage and Samoa Joe on AEW Collision, Ricky Starks is the most entertaining and interesting character on the show. With CM Punk now gone (As discussed in my first blog) I’ll be expecting Ricky Starks to become even more prominent. I like his pairing with Big Bill (Big Cass), his segments with Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat were entertaining and his feud with CM Punk was an interesting one, unfortunately due to Punk’s conduct we were robbed of this final showdown. (Regardless, Danielson and Starks had a great match at AEW All Out last weekend)
Presentation is a big part of getting someone over in Professional Wrestling – Quite often I have found AEW are average with this, but I must admit they’ve done a good job with Starks. I like his entrance, it makes him feel like a big deal, a star and someone with a desire and determination to become the best by any means possible. He can talk and looks great. I’m interested to see what’s next for him in AEW.
Anyway, I’ll stop rambling on now. Thanks for checking this second blog out. I’m a self-confessed WWE fanboy, always have been since I started watching WWE as a child. However, as you can hopefully and probably tell I’m trying to broaden by Professional Wrestling palate and horizons. If there is anything else you can recommend I’m open to suggestions. I’m taking a break from my 9-5 office job at the moment and trying to fill my time!
Please leave feedback, if it’s constructive then I’ll always appreciate it. I’m always happy to learn and to become better. Please keep it respectful though, everyone is entitled to an opinion.
Take it easy guys,
Andy

As suspected - the moment that Sawamura starts interacting with Miyuki too seriously, Miyuki makes a remark he knows will piss Sawamura off and get him back to his regular self with him. And where was all that talk about wanting respect? As soon as Miyuki gets it, he makes it so that things go back to normal. It really hasn’t taken Miyuki long to figure out how Sawamura ticks but that’s what makes them so much fun to watch!

The Sim(p)s GX Part 2: Manjoume can't catch a break
I apologize for not getting screencaps of all the important events; this was because things happened really quickly and I have the reaction time of an elderly three-toed sloth and/or I didn't realize how important the event was at the time.
Will I ever quit this and go back to writing Volatile Elements again after I got sick of it, like I'm supposed to? Who knows??
WARNINGS: Sexual situations and mpreg.
The adults tried to throw a birthday party for Rachel. It didn't go that well, because I'm new to the game still trying to find out where all the different commands are. But she aged up into Child, and soon Lydia became a toddler. Unlike her older sister, who can be a little prickly, Lydia was a sweetheart and got along with everyone.
Rachel is also prone to having nightmares, although those appear to have decreased since I figured out how to put a roof over her bedroom.
Now more on Casa Tenjoume (as I call it)! The original plan was for Manjoume to be in a relationship with both Asuka and Fubuki, but the game didn't let me do that, so he's engaged to Asuka only. Manjoume started off doing office work, Asuka joined Amon in the blogosphere, and Fubuki is an entertainer, specifically a standup comedian.
Fubuki went on an outing with Taniya to the park. He's shown here flirting with both Taniya and an NPC simultaneously, and clearly having the time of his life.
Tumblr media
After being turned down by Asuka once, Manjoume thought he finally got lucky.
Tumblr media
...Only for Fubuki to wake up in the middle of everything and walk in on them! Sigh.
After a somewhat slow start to their own relationship, Taniya and Misawa started fucking like rabbits, although they got their own share of interruptions from the Garam kids wandering into the vicinity. They went out on another date, this time to a nightclub, and got so horny that they had sex on a nearby park bench. Probably they're having more sex than the other two couples combined.
It became clear that certain Sims had anger management problems. Asuka didn't get along with Fubuki (although I can't blame her), and Taniya had some kind of beef with Amon. Plans started to be made for some household changes...
...Only to be accelerated when tragedy struck the OG House. Lydia was very hungry, and Amon was making dinner for her when he started a kitchen fire. In the resulting confusion, Lydia's hunger maxed out and CPS removed her from the home! There was no getting her back, and I was pretty devastated. I HC that's when Taniya got fed up and decided that she and Misawa needed to move out on their own.
They bought another vacant lot, but after building a tiny room with nothing but one bed in it, they realized that they didn't have enough funds to complete the house. They (and their room) had to move in with Manjoume and Asuka. Fortunately, the latter couple had vacant space because Fubuki had moved into the OG House after he and Asuka got into a physical fight and maxed out their dislike.
One night, Manjoume was standing innocently outside his house when he was ABDUCTED BY ALIENS! They returned him a few hours later, dazed but (seemingly) unharmed.
I downloaded Back to Work, and Manjoume and Misawa got to change careers, to detective (I had to) and scientist respectively. Manjoume's first day on the job doesn't go too hot; he was supposed to be investigating a crime scene, but he spent most of his time either chatting and/or flirting with Fubuki (who was randomly at the crime scene...suspicious):
Tumblr media
...Or sulking in the bathroom when everyone else was hanging out together.
Tumblr media
Thankfully, his second day went better, and he got promoted to Officer. In a very surprising turn of events, Fubuki started regularly calling him asking for love advice!
One time when I switched households, Fubuki was nowhere to be found. I finally located him in an entirely different world, grilling meat at some park at 2 AM. No explanation was offered for this behavior.
Asuka started wanting a baby, and the tentative plan was for her to keep taking her birth control until the pack ran out, and try then. However, this was temporarily shelved when some weird things started happening to Manjoume. He started looking a little off, and it kept showing notifications that he had a stomachache. But then, I remembered about the alien abduction, aaannnd...
Tumblr media
Folks, we have our mpreg.
It took me an embarassingly long time to put two and two together, although in my defense I had no idea that this was a game mechanic, much less one in the base game. But this whole subplot was awesome, and most of the next part will be devoted to it.

This year's Misawa City Festival marked 100 years! We enjoyed the vendor food, entertainment and parade this past weekend. The kids had a really great time! We stayed up past our bedtimes to see all the magical floats.
The different generations involved with each float was beautiful to see. All the floats were pulled by two ropes led by all ages ranging from what looked like 4 year olds to older men and women. There were moms with babes in arms and cute kids singing the different chants.
I've got to start taking pictures of the food vendors. As you can see, we were a bit distracted, but street food is always a must. The kids had typical fried chicken on a stick, fries seasoned with cheese and garlic and the adults had some pad thai and, forgive us for our lack of Japanese food knowledge, but what appeared to be a Japanese crunch wrap. Typically, we can count on churros, spiraled fried potatoes on a stick, and sesame balls. The adults imbibed on some local stouts from a brewery in town. Delicious! Next time I will try to get some photos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Needless to say, we soaked up all that we could. On Sunday, we decided to go downtown again to see the festival during the day as we had seen all the floats on Friday night. And even in the daytime, they were exciting to see!
There was a park nearby that the kids played at for a while and Teddy played some baseball with a local boy and his dad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because we are still relatively new in town, we've had a lot of people ask us how we like it here. We are still responding with a resounding, "we love it!" We've also heard from other friends that have been here a while that the magic will wear off. And maybe that's true, but I really hope not.
I fully intend on exploring as much as I can. There is just so much to see and do in Japan. Montana taught us to get out and explore. We know that if we choose to be homebodies for too long that we won't appreciate the place we are in. Like anywhere, there is definitely a chance to get too comfortable. You go to the same places, eat the same foods, shop at the same stores. That might just be natural.
But we are being really intentional about staying active here. There truly is something for everyone.
I was told that apple picking season is happening soon and you better believe I am so there.

Til next time, WW

OKAY BOYS AND GIRLS ALLOW ME TO SAY THIS NOW
I've only seen a few posts so far for Day 2, but if y'all know me at least a little you already know exactly which dorm I think is superior: Ra Yellow.
But let me be clear about this.
It's, by all accounts, severely underrated when it comes to screentime and general recognition (from what I've seen so far) despite not being the lowest dorm
It has the luxury of a well-ranked hotel when it comes to the actual building; where it's both homey and comfortable while also not being too flashy or extravagant
Their food is amazing, this is mentioned in several episodes and I would count this as a major plus
For one to be in this dorm, it means you're decently good at card games, which means you're surrounded by decent competition.
Daichi/Bastien Misawa is one of the top dogs over in that dorm, and is actually one of the more professional playing duelists in the show when it comes to irl standards (from my understanding). He's also an interesting character and I hATE HOW THEY DID HIM DIRTY but that's for another day
They actually produce a fair amount of entertaining side characters for filler episodes or one-off duels. My personal favorite being Dimitri (with no help from LittleKuriboh, heh)
And most importantly, and probably my most biased reason, him
Tumblr media
Tyranno (actually best boy dont @me) Kenzan/Hassleberry
I would actually die for him, I adore him with every fibre of my being, I know he claims he's Slifer Red but THAT AIN'T A RED JACKET.
I'll save the rambling for his day. I have a lot of emotions towards him.
All and all, it's also likely the dorm I'd see myself in if I somehow managed to be admitted (a lovely middle ground), so of course I'd be inclined to favor it.
Plus, it's Ra, man. A PHOENIX. Those things are SICK.

GX Month Day 3: “Rule the School”
These kids might be saving the world, but they’re still students with homework to do and exams to pass. Celebrate the school life today!
Cross posted on Ao3.
“I have made a terrible mistake,” the redhead groans into the table after class ends. Hm, she’s the one who was hanging out with that Jaden kid at the entrance exams. Christina, wasn’t it?
“And what mistake would that be?” Bastion asks as he collects his notes. Christina’s currently face down in her own notes, pencil slipping out of her fingers as if she simply gave up at some point.
“This class...”
“Ah.” Bastion subdues an automatic snort. The minds of his peers have such an underdeveloped appreciation for academics. “Not a fan of dueling history?”
“That’s just it, I am.” Christina peels her face away from her desk to protest. “I like dueling history but that guy...” She waves a hand at the empty podium below, scowling as if it personally wronged her. “He sounds like a dead fish!” she finally huffs. “Can’t he put any enthusiasm into this? Why is he even teaching this class? He’s going to put me to sleep!”
Oh. Well this is... Bastion does snort this time, a gentle smile turning up his lips. “It’s not every day I find someone willing to complain about the delivery instead of the subject material,” he admits as Christina turns to look at him with curiosity. “You must be quite passionate about this subject.”
“Well, duh,” she grumbles into her arm, once more scowling at the podium. Come to think of it, during roll call hadn’t her surname been...?
“Ah, yes. I suppose you would be,” Bastion concludes aloud and finds himself instantly subjected to a suspicious glare. “Relax, I don’t care one way or the other who you’re related to. Your skill is what truly matters. Anything else is rude.”
“Whaddaya know. The smart guy is actually polite.” She cocks her head at him.
“Excuse me?”
“Thought you were kind of a know-it-all after what you said to Jaden the other day.” Leaning back in her seat, Christina stretches her arms out and cracks her knuckles. “But you might not be so bad after all.” Flashing him a cheeky grin, she stands and gathers her notes. “Later, Misawa.”
Unexpected. Very unexpected. She didn’t even ask to borrow his notes.
Maybe Duel Academy will be more entertaining than middle school after all.
