they try not to let her emotions get the best of them. the snarky comments? the sarcasm? that’s their personality. as far as showing emotions…she’d prefer to endure it all and get through it, reflecting after.

after shadowbringers, she started to lean on the Scions a bit more than she did before. they started opening up little by little about the light consumption, how it made them feel, the constant dull ache in their chest, how sometimes the pain would get so bad, they’d have to pull back on how hard they were fighting.

but now, alone on the moon, she has no choice but to fight. she has to go all out. it doesn’t matter what she does or how she does it, she needs to fight as hard as she can. she doesn’t know if the pain will allow it, but she can only hope it stays away a little while longer so she can do what she was meant to do: protect the ones she loves.

The Cieldale island he hales from has a small population, and there weren’t many boys around his age that he wasn’t related to

Same-sex couples are common on his island—he saw many romantic relationships between miqo’te women—it’s not a taboo just something he had never considered before in regards to himself and other men

He was exposed to various forms of queerness in Limsa Lominsa, where he was exploring sexually (affectionately referred to as his First Slut Era). During this era, he found sexual partners in roegydan women, au ri women, hyuran women, and of course his much beloved miqo’te women, but still never with men

If Avi’li was attracted to a man, it didn’t register as attraction for him, but more akin to what he considers admiration and looking up to them; he admired Jacke of the Rogue’s Guild (who is very much an “elder queer” to me but that is a different headcanon post lol) a great deal—if he thought Jacke was hot well that was strictly in a professional way

But the attraction to Aymeric was so quick, so big, that Avi’li was forced to stop and consider for the first time in his life; an unfortunate time for new crushes as he was dating Y’mhitra at the time (they’re not together for long…Avi’li ghosts her after the Bloody Banquet, unable to face her after believing Y’shtola dead)

Haurchefant was a much needed voice in Avi’li figuring out his attraction; a bi man who was raised in a conservative ideology and recognizes the struggle of personal identity

His counsel helped Avi’li settle into this new identity, and he was the only person Avi’li spoke with about his unrequited attraction for the Lord Commander (Haurchefant was the foremost supporter of averic)

Aymeric, for his part, knew Avi’li was attracted to in him—Avi’li is very obvious with where his interests lay—but in my canon, Aymeric is demisexual, and he did not return Avi’li’s interests…

New OC??

So last night I had another of my crazy and overly detailed dreams that gave me ideas for a new OC! Well, I might be bringing back some old ideas from many years ago but wrapped up in a new package that will fit with the MSQ from DT going forward. Here’s all the headcanons that I have so far. Sorry that I don’t have any gposes of her yet, but this is the same color of hair that she had.

* She is a female miqo’te with light blue hair, and looks similar to an old OC that I never actually wrote anything for, so I’m probably going to name her the same as that OC, which is Sohna.

* Sohna will be from Tural, in particular Shaaloani. I am thinking that she might be from one of the Hhetsarro tribes, same as Koana. So I’ll have to find an American voice claim for her!

* I was thinking that her canon job will be an Archer/Hunter, but she might end up being a Beastmaster if I like the job well enough when it’s released.

* She is 17 years old during ARR, so she’s one year older than twins, but she won’t be introduced into the story until DT, which in my canon timeline Sohna will be 23 and the twins are 22.

* Eventually Sohna will ship with Alphinaud, but I have no clue of when they will actually get together. It’ll be sometime in the future, perhaps 8.0?? We shall see.

Tangy, all Tangy, give me Tangy Lore

■ - Tangy makes her long-term stay wherever the Scions have settled- the Waking Sands, the Rising Stones, unfortunately missed out on most of The Falling Snow.. while she’s still a much smaller Miqo’te staying in the Waking Sands she insists she doesn’t need much space to sleep, and just has a bunk with a leather bag hanging off one of the posts. Granted, that bunk is piled with blankets and pillows, and she doesn’t even sleep under them; it’s all just lumpy padding for curling up on top of and snoring. (After meeting with Chuu and finding out 1) there was a way to avoid getting arrested after the Banquet fiasco and 2) she could totally be stronger. Totally. And subsequently getting… let’s call it Off-Brand-Fantasia’d, she needs a bit more space.. she stops snoring most of the time, though. Having more snout apparently makes it easier to not snore!) She doesn’t ever keep an apartment of her own, but she does sometimes trek from Revenant’s Toll to Vesper Bay to check in on the old haunt, since Urianger seems keen to Never Leave. lmao.

✿ - She’s Asexual! In that she doesn’t feel sexual attraction towards people, but she does enjoy the act? It’s a good way to relieve stress and it’s fun exercise and it’s a nice way to bond with others.

She does, however, struggle with the ‘Oops’ part of Chuu’s ‘Fantasia’ which was giving her a body with a dick :T There’s a learning curve. (Among other curves. Wink? Sorry dndndndnfke) Also, not necessarily sex, but she probably kisses her friends. Because she cares about them! Cheek kisses, lip kisses, forehead and top of head kisses… hand kisses… Kisses :)

Yda and Tangy pose is [Glomp Tackle] with fresh expressions but the rest are all custom done ;w; oh also shader is Neneko’s Love… I think.. 🫢 it’s all the same one 🤦 I just forgot to write it down

∇- I genuinely think Tangy gets a handle on Accounting by hanging out with Tataru so much over the years. It keeps Tataru’s mind off worrying about everybody as much while they’re away on business, and Tangy gets to wrinkle her brain (this takes. Such a long time though. She’s still not reliable for it, either, but she’s passable :3) .. for a proper aging headcanon tho I think as she gets older she becomes an anchor point for the Scions like Tataru is. Sets up shop and trains young adventurers in combat and cooking and camping. Her whiskers twitch when thunderstorms are brewing. She still sometimes needs nudging from her own students on things, but it’s usually in things relating to Reading. I feel like she has pretty bad dyslexia and maybe even dyscalculia that she’s just learned to deal with.

♒- LOVES food. Loves to eat. Loves to help with cooking. Measuring ingredients for recipes is actually pretty easy since it’s not demanded exactness, it’s just “half of this cup, level this cup, just enough to cover the bottom of this pan,” like, not exact. You feel cooking with your heart. And kneading bread is an excellent and fun work out to her. Can not bake.. Kinda wishes she could. She’s just not precise enough, and she gets the order in which things have to be done mixed up, so she ends up with some pretty…. Not exactly inedible but…. 🫢 It’s not appetizing looking.. and it doesn’t taste great… She’s not a picky eater, but she hesitates to eat snails. It just makes her a little sad, cos they’re cute to her. And then she eats them anyways =w=; the chef worked hard to make this delicious meal and she’s gonna eat it! (And not eating the snails would waste their life so. Honor their sacrifice and eat them.) Her favorite food is whatever she can eat with her hands/whatever’s in front of her at the time, and any of F’lahminn’s cooking. Even if it’s burnt.

some of the early 7.0 msq validated my headcanons for d’alia’s clan background and I’m thrilled about it c:

the background that I’d decided for d’alia back when I was developing her clan was that they were nomadic but settled in mor dhona before the calamity, and mostly lived on what they tended while finding work out of it as well, as botanists and alchemists/culinarians and artisans, essentially like ranchhands and migrant workers as I was thinking of them as fantasy mexican-american in a way (and admittedly projecting my own family experiences a little onto them), holding onto their culture from where their people were originally but adapting to eorzea as a diaspora

so the tural announcement piqued my interest because it put a potential Where Their People Are From to a name since the turali are based on latin/central/south america and the western american expansion and I toyed with the idea more and more as 7.0 approached

Crystal Tower

It was a bold plan to try, to make for the Ocular. It felt like a trap but they were forced to trust his judgement on this. Granted he was working on a hunch that the Ocular should have some kind of control systems for the tower’s defence.

He was mildy disappointed that the Tower's defense system had not managed to cull the young summoner's entourage.

The Ocular provided the respite they sort. Rations would only last the ones who actually needed them for a few days at most. A locked door to side won’t budge by physical means but of which the spells that locked it was simple enough for him to undo.

Light spilled into the small room revealing a sleeping form huddled on a pile of fabric on the floor. The rowdy knight huffed and squatted down to poke the sleeping Miqo’te in the face with her gauntleted hand. A hiss of annoyance came from their Hingan Fox themed Miqo’te Astrologian.

“Oy.” The only response she received some unintelligible mumble and continuous slumber. She huffed and straightened up. Shooting the sorcerer that led them here with a questioning glare that held much judgement of him along with it. “Whoever dares suggest that I wake sleeping beauty with a kiss will get my boot in their face.” She snarled. Only to be answered with a couple of snickers by their spearman who had raise his hands up to pacify her. He had no intention of picking a verbal battle this time.

The sleeping furball looked familiar to him yet he couldn’t place an exact identity as to who. His long memories were somewhat fuzzy especially of the recent weeks before he met joined his current companions. A nagging feeling was eating at him even though he tried to push it down.

“No leave him, he would be more useful alive. Slumbering or not.” He may not know who sleeping beauty was but at least he figured out why he was here after prying open the closed eyelids to reveal red eyes.

Unceremoniously he dragged the sleeping cat boy by the arm towards the structure by the side, much to the raise eyebrows of those who were watching. Virtual screens popped opened in the air the moment he slapped the cat boy’s hand on the flat surface. He noted his companions lack of surprise to Allagan technology in action.

 Peering and swiping at the tabs on the virtual screen he came to one that met his needs and fiddle with it with a few beeps and boops. There was a click of sorts and some whirls and hums. The distinct feeling of the energy of the crystal tower settling down once more.

“We should leave within the time limit.” He said with a swish of his coat of robe and skirts as he turned. One last glance behind showed the shieldmaiden helping the sleeping Miqo’te into a comfortable sleeping position on the pile of fabrics.

He frowned. He had a feeling that allowing this one to live will come back and bite him in the behind one day.

Note  - Due to gacha being fickle I have no control over who arrive when in FGO. My Mordred ended up working with a whole bunch of cat/fox/bird people for a long time before the rest of KotRT showed up. A lot of relationships in the game are more headcanon/with a dose of canon stuff than fandomcanon. Although some are loosely taken from Fragments of Chaldea. Can’t be helped since its more arrival order/ heavy material investments/ usage / favertism based.

🛏 : A sleeping headcanon

Eisha has always made nests out of her beds. Haurchefant at one point had ransacked all the extra stores of pillows from Camp Dragonhead’s barracks just to satisfy her. On the First, the Pendants faired a similar fate during her stay, with the Exarch importing special ones from Eulmore.

This has not changed, and in fact has only gotten worse with another Miqo’te sharing the same bed.

don't tell anyone, but i am a Lalafell sympathizer (even though i play a catgirl), and i definitely don't see any reason a Miqo'fell couldn't exist. also, this was a super fun collection of characters to go with this request!! here are some headcanons for you :)

G’raha Tia

It’s my headcanon that Miqo’tes (male and female, Keepers and Seekers) are very sensory-driven people. In general, they have sensitive noses and ears, and many explore their surroundings through their sense of touch. 

Therefore, G’raha isn’t at all surprised when the WoL is so physically affectionate with him. He welcomes it, in fact, after spending so much time around stuffy Sharlayan scholars who barely even shake hands. 

With G’raha, the WoL doesn’t have to hold back any of their touchy impulses. He’ll let them nuzzle him, hold his hands for hours, comb and style his hair… Anything, really, just to feel their gentle fingers on his skin. All the while, both of their tails are flicking happily.

He gets a little shy about PDA, but he won’t reject it. The WoL can keep him as close as they need. If they ask for a kiss while others are watching, he’ll oblige, and he’ll blush the entire time. 

Behind closed doors is another story. G’raha lets the WoL sit in his lap all the time, whether the couple is reading, talking, or simply enjoying a comfortable silence. He keeps one hand on their waist or back, just to make sure they don’t go anywhere.

Zero

Zero is definitely not used to this. Her experience with intimacy is quite literally nonexistent. The first time the WoL tries to hold her hand, she jerks it back with a gasp of offense, believing they were trying to steal her aether. 

Thankfully, Zero quickly realizes that’s not the case. The WoL just likes to touch. They are an odd creature from an odd place, she reasons, and this physical compulsion is simply part of their nature. Slowly, she warms to the concept of being touched for kind reasons instead of cruel ones.

Once Zero realizes she enjoys the WoL’s affection, she can’t get enough. Their skin is so warm, their hair and lips are so soft… They are their own kind of sustenance, and she wants more, more, more. Hand-holding eventually evolves all the way into sleeping in the same bed. 

Zero takes full advantage of their newfound proximity. She ensnares the WoL’s little body against her own every morning, letting them purr and nuzzle her for as long as they wish. Sometimes, when their ears twitch sleepily, she even smiles.

PDA doesn’t bother her at all. Why would it? Zero would never be embarrassed to eat in public, and this is just about the same thing.

Zenos

The Garlean prince is more of an “acts of service” kind of guy, truthfully, so he doesn’t really get why the WoL is so obsessed with touching him. Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), Zenos’ vanity won’t allow him to refuse any of their attention.

The result? An acceptance that is somehow both annoyed and amused. Zenos watches with a wolfish smile and half-lidded eyes as they paw at his hands, his chest, his face, always with their ears perked high and tail excitedly swishing. It’s almost cute to watch them grovel so, but he’d never admit it. 

In the public eye, Zenos will still let the WoL touch him, but only in more casual ways. He won’t hold them or kiss them, but they can still rest a hand on his arm or peck his cheek when they say goodbye. It’s nothing personal; he just isn’t comfortable with that level of vulnerability.

When they’re alone, he lets the WoL fawn over him all they want. His ferocious fondness for them means they’ve gotten away with things that no other living being could do to him — things like braiding his hair and sitting in his lap. 

He’s even carried the WoL around their home a few times. Only when they’re already tucked in his arms, exhausted or sore from their day’s work. Their body is so small compared to his, it’s no effort at all. He strokes their ears as he takes them to bed, even while he’s mumbling his half-hearted complaints… just to make sure the Warrior knows he loves them.

just read your AMAB focused NSFW headcanons but im curious, so in light of LGBT month of June, what about trans folk of the miqo/hroth/au'ra/viera races? Trans males, do they go into heat, perhaps not as intensely and/or as often if they're on some version of hormone replacement? I have my own personal headcanon for my AFAB trans guy but i was just curious on your take c:

Thanks for asking!! This ended up being a more general ramble about trans headcanons in Eitherys, hopefully that's ok xD I haven't done much lore digging for this stuff in actual canon, so forgive me if this conflicts with lore! (And feel free to share sources, I'm curious!)

I imagine “hormones” as a word isn't really a thing in Eitherys - or at least isn't widely known - and due to the magic and aetheric aspects of life here, the whole thing doesn’t function quite the same way as real life. --

Most folks are content with using glamours as a (relatively) cheap, accessible way to alter their presentation. --

In Eorzea, skilled alchemists can create potions which alter aether and essentially have the same effect as HRT. Alchemy is somewhat expensive and this particular concoction requires significant skill such as from the Guild - so this isn’t something your average farmer would have reliable access to. --

Garlemald has magitek and medical expertise to perform complex confirmation surgeries, especially thanks to studying Allagan technology like cloning and having an advanced understanding of magical genetics. --

Since Miqo’te and Hrothgar heats are caused by ovaries being ready to ovulate, transfems don’t experience heats naturally (the same way irl transfems don't get periods.) But alchemists have a fix for that too, and potion can be brewed to replicate the sensation of a heat with great accuracy. --

Fantasias… exist. But they’re either a lost art or extremely prohibitive to make, meaning almost nobody outside of like the Leveillieurs and the Emperor of Garlemald would have access to such a thing. --

Transgender acceptance varies significantly between races, city states, and cultures:

Groups like tradition-heavy Miqo'te tribes and Ishgard which push strict gender roles with heavy reproductive expectations attached tend to be less welcoming to the notion.

Viera... super duper chill with trans. They don't even know what sex they are until puberty. Even though their society is divided into gender roles, reproduction isn't a huge focus so there's no major cultural reason to be so opposed to the idea of it.

Will tentatively hc that Gridania is accepting. There's plenty of examples of nonbinary gender stuff in nature. (I could make a case for them being super bigoted and arrogant about "sex=gender, we're Spoken races not animals" or w/e but I'm mean enough to Gridania in my hcs so they can have this xD)

Garlemald is pretty much fine with it, too, but access to gender affirming medical care is, like so much else, dependent on merit.

Sharlayan acknowledges the existence of trans individuals and is verbally affirming, but there's so much academic debate and bureaucracy that it can actually be very hard to “qualify” for affirmative care.

In Ul'dah acceptance is about money. Like everything else lol

Au Ra have SO MANY cultures I feel it's impossible to place any generalizations on them. I imagine there's a huge spectrum of beliefs and whatnot depending on what group you're born to.

There's also just not enough Hrothgar lore out there for me to be too sure how I think they'd handle it. Since they also seem to have pretty strict gender roles, it'd be easy to say it's not accepted. But I also kinda like the idea of intersex traits being fairly common for Hroth, and maybe there's a lot of leeway in their traditions for at least transmasc/transfem individuals! --

The Ancients were very positive about it, especially given the role physical transformation has in their culture and the ease with which it could be done

While I personally like the variation in acceptance & access to care from an immersion and storytelling standpoint, I totally get that's not for everyone and have nothing against folks who hc a more widely accepting world in Eitherys!

Personally my favourite miqo’te headcanon is that when overcome with affection for those they love cat brain takes over and they have the suddenly urge to gently chomp on the object of their affections

Which is to say if the wol is a miqo and on excellent terms with the scions they’ve probably all been lovingly chomped at least once

Some rapid fire headcanon rambles about Scone bc I’m thinking about him. He’s very expressive when he talks, a habit he picked up while he was nonverbal and communicated through sign language. His voice, which he gains in the third act of ARR, is low and has a twang akin to a US southern drawl. The one (1) thing that I know about him pre amnesia is that he was a seeker of the sun miqo’te originally, who was - for some reason or another - taken in and raised by a keeper of the moon clan

Introduction

Hi! I’m new to this website, though I’ve been reading posts from it for a while. I’m very much the sort to develop elaborate headcanons and otherwise get really into the video games that I play, so this seemed like a good place for me. I play a lot of games, but currently I’m very much focused on Final Fantasy XIV, so I’ll be talking about that a lot. To clarify my stances on a few issues: Transgender people should be taken at their word on the matter of what gender they are. It is fine to want to pursue relationships with men, women, both, or people who are neither, regardless of one’s own gender, or to not want to pursue romantic relationships whatsoever. Racism is a big issue in the world, though I am not an expert on it and certainly have my own ingrained biases to work on. People can choose their own pronouns and this should be respected (though I myself may struggle to pick up neopronouns). I am not flawless at respecting any of these, I would appreciate correction in the event I mess up.
