Context and some BlueBead Drawing Workflow Lore™: I convert a copy of my line art to pixel art by crunching it with levels and posterization so that I can quickly paint bucket in flat colors. However, when making the flats layer, I fill it in with a "missing texture" bright fuchsia first so I know if I missed any spots or if there's orphaned pixels.

While working on my last major drawing, Isabeau and Siffrin got to rock some fuchsia hair dye and Mirabelle got to enjoy a flashy shawl for a while because I thought they looked cool. And out of that trio, I deemed Isa most likely to inflict minor psychic damage on his friends for the bit. 😆

Gosh I love drawing disgruntled / disgusted expressions so much, you can get so scrunchy with them. I think drawing stupid facial expressions is my favorite part of being an artist, genuinely. 😂

WIP of [this drawing] from October 15th! Siffrin with partial pink hair dye unironically slaps in my opinion.

Time taken on the comic was 20 hours and 31 minutes. Been trying to speed things up, but I was having too much fun playing with new line art brushes and special effects. I'm getting better at ignoring tiny inconsequential things I'd want to endlessly tweak though!

Will I ever draw in the same art style twice in a row? Who knows. :) I've been slowly trending towards the style I draw my OCs in, but it's not fully there yet, lol.

What is this?

Pink Onyx AU is a Steven Universe AU focused on interactions between Steven and Jasper and is intended to be read after you have finished Steven Universe Future, as it contains many many spoilers for the series. If you have watched it already, great! Welcome! The goal is to bring you a Jasper redemption arc that we couldn’t get due to time and cooperate restraints on the Crewniverse. I hope you enjoy!

I do not own these characters or their likenesses except for the single fluffy thembo fusion I created for the story. This is just a fan comic.

Comic is PG-13 for some angsty/touchy themes, minor blood, violence, and gem-cussing. Touchy-subjects will always be in a cartoon-ish metaphorical representation you would likely find on TV and be available for multiple interpretations.

When do you post?

Typically when you see this post pinned, I’m on a bit of a break, but when Nyx wakes up (this post goes away) the comic is due to be released 1 page at a time at 7am EST most days. I try for a daily release. Sometimes I skip a day if I’m behind. Episode release dates are always announced ahead of time by a few weeks.

Is this a romantic ship AU between Jasper and Steven?

Nope, more like an aunt and her nephew trying to figure it all out. No romance between these two here.

Is your Tapas updated at the same time?

Nope, tumblr comes first, and the tumblr will always have bonus content which Tapas will not. The Tapas for this updates after the tumblr version is completed. Usually same day or within a day.

Do you have a reference for Onyx? Sure do!

How do I use the ask system for this blog?

You can leave a message, or even an object, for the characters to interact with. The asks you leave can be answered by myself, Onyx, Steven or Jasper within the realm of this AU. Your asks will have no effect on the comic story. Think of it like the actors are in their dressing rooms and you get to give them a poke while they take a break! As the comic story progresses, their replies to your answers may change! Their responses will be in-character depending on where in the story we are.

My note by the den (an ask) was never answered. How come?

Lots and lots of asks come in every day. I wish I could answer them all! Since I draw something to go with most answers, especially the character ones, they do take a bit of time. Sometimes, I get duplicates of the same ask, or an ask that may refer to something that spoils the story if I answer it. I might hang onto those asks for a later time! Or group them into categories to answer all at once. I hoard asks for 1 year in an attempt to get to them. If I missed yours, know I tried and I love them anyway! I hope it does not discourage you in the future.

What kind of fusion is Pink Onyx? Are they good or bad? Pink Onyx is a fusion of a protagonist and an antagonist, so their alliance is yet unknown, but they have Steven’s good heart and Jasper’s loyal nature. They also have Steven and Jasper’s flaws, so they can be volatile and emotionally explosive at times, too.

What are Pink Onyx’s pronouns? Onyx likes they/them, but also answers to he/him and she/her, especially when Steven or Jasper is dominant over one another. They also seem to take on a fluid role and prefer a she/her when in a caretaker status. They dislike it/its.

What does Pink Onyx sound like? Personally, I hear them as a youthful, masculine tone. Like Steven if a little older. But I also enjoy when people say they hear them as a gruff, Amazonian-type feminine. I enjoy and endorse both.

Do Jasper and Steven enjoy being fused to one another? For now, it is a struggle, but they enjoy what the other brings to the fusion even if they won’t say it.

Does Pink Onyx need to eat and do human things? If so, do they enjoy it? They don’t need to do them, but they do feel the discomfort without them. Things like breathing, eating, and sleeping are optional for Onyx, but they will become quite irritable if not allowed to do them. They greatly enjoy sleeping and trying new foods.

What does Jasper think about having human organs when fused? She’s pretty grossed out by the idea of organic matter going into her mouth and coming out of other places. The heart beating and lungs breathing she can feel for the first time, and it is highly strange for her to experience.

What is Pink Onyx’s favorite food? They adore anything watermelon flavored and Cookie-cat ice cream products

Does Pink Onyx have any special fusion powers? They do, and as they learn about themselves, more powers seem to come out. Each of their base component appears to be enhanced in a unique way. They have Pink Diamond at their core, so the destructive potential is also there.

Why is Steven hiding Pink Onyx from others? This AU occurs directly after the events of "I Am My Monster", so Steven is very emotionally, and mentally, raw. He fears judgement for running back to Jasper, who in the past, was part of so much trauma he already endured.

Pink Onyx seems to know nothing about human culture and gem culture despite being a fusion. What’s going on? Jasper and Steven agreed to fuse, but they have yet to open up to one another about much else. The fusion exists because they agree to do so, but Jasper won’t open up about her emotions, and Steven is so sensitive yet that he is not sharing because he knows Jasper won’t want to hear it. This causes Onyx to be unable to access both of their memories easily, but they can bring it out with enough effort.

Sacker is a minor antagonist from the arc that this WIP is a canon divergence of, and he's one of the beast-men in the Wild Lands. Specifically, he is a giant old snake dude who runs a huge storehouse/trading post/fortress type thing, and he was the guy who initially enslaved and drugged Kon into his feral/depowered state when he crash-landed in the Wild Lands after Sacker also, like, literally shot him out of the sky. He does that to literally every single human who washes up on shore, because he is the only person in the Wild Lands who has ever actually met a human who was in their right mind and after that experience he immediately decided that humans should not be allowed to have their right minds anymore.

In his defense: HUMANS.

The mark Panthera is referencing Kon drawing is Sacker's slave mark, which he puts on all his humans via differently-shaped pendants. Kon's version of it looked a bit like the S-shield, so Kon was attached to it when he was feral and wouldn't originally let Sacker take it back. See: below. Therefore, Panthera doesn't realize he is actually NOT drawing Sacker's mark.

In the original arc (it's like issues 50-54 of Kon's OG solo title, I belieeeeeve it's called "Last Boy On Earth" or something like that), he agreed to sell Superboy to Prince Tuftan in exchange for a historical artifact, as long as Tuftan agreed to keep giving Superboy regular doses of his serum. At the time Tuftan did not know humans were actually, like, PEOPLE, and thought he was just agreeing to sedate a wild animal to keep it controllable. Superboy was a few days out from his last dose of serum, though, and when Tuftan forgot to bring the drugs to put into his dinner and a mercenary attacked the king while he ran back for them, Superboy got his adrenaline up enough to burn through enough of the remaining drugs to remember how to talk and also, like, break his restraints and smash said mercenary through a wall, which kiiiiinda blew the lid off the whole "totally just a wild animal" lie. This AU is one where Tuftan did not forget to bring the drugs, and Superboy has as a result been in the Wild Lands ever since.

Issue 50 of that run was actually the first Superboy comic I ever read and my first introduction to the character, so I have a serious soft spot for the arc and I just could NOT resist writing something related to it when I got enabled to, haha.

Epic the musical has been running wild in my mind as of late (You should 100% go watch it if you haven’t) along with the usual (tmnt, my aus, SWWTRH, etc.) oh and just today I started a lil mini comic that I doubt I’ll finish because… *glances at all my wips* uh yeah… hehe. I do really like the one panel I made for it so far! It would only be like 4-5 panels long so hopefully I’ll finish it ^-^

Okay okay okay OF COURSE i have things to ramble about Letter From my Future Self but what to choose and say without major spoilers is tricky…. Hmmmmmm…. Gonna put it under a cut :D

(This is a spoiler but it’s pretty minor and goofy)

I have recently been thinking about how Donnie deals with the beginning of the movie (after he is sent back in time w/ Casey) and I think one interaction that could happen is rlly funny so I’ll talk about that heheh

In the beginning of the movie, after Casey is thrown into the past, he searches and inevitably finds April O’Neil. As we all know he scares her and she immediately knocks him unconscious. In my au something similar happens, Casey and Donnie are sent back together. At the time Donnie was brought to the future he had only been in their new lair for a couple of weeks, so, with all the craziness and new information that comes with the apocalypse, …he completely forgets where the new lair is. Him and Casey use the photo (like in the movie) and track down April at her school. Donnie sees her from a distance and freezes up. He hasn’t seen HIS April in nearly three years, anything could happen (also he’s all emotional seeing the first person from his timeline in three years but shhhh don’t hurt his emotionally unavailable bad boy image). Then he blinks and Casey has already jumped down and been knocked unconscious. Donnie’s brotherly instincts kick in and without a second thought he’s standing right in front of his Sister. He would be attacking but his instincts are at a hard stand still because that is his brother who is currently unconscious and vulnerable but that’s his sister… resulting in him just immediately mixing the two instincts with the knowledge that April wouldn’t hurt either of them and Casey would be fine as long as he wasn’t left there. This results is his guard being partially relaxed (mainly due to being so flabbergasted) that the following happens:

Donnie (too overloaded to take in anything that just happened): You knocked him unconscious!?! Wha— *hits the ground, unconscious*

April (without comprehending its Donnie): *hits him over the head with her bat* STRANGER DANGER!

That’s the goofy option but I have a couple others spinning in the mind as well (Donnie stops her from knocking him out, Donnie immediately tries explains things, Donnie attacks April out of pure instinct, etc. etc.)

So…it’s taken me forever to get to this 😢 So Sorry, and thanks so much for your patience, Rika! 🙏

Since you gave me ⭐star⭐ for writer’s choice, I have selected this summer/fall’s The One with Hope’s Wedding, so without further ado, some Director’s Cut fun facts and commentary!

(If you are someone who hasn’t read that fic yet and thinks you might want to…BEWARE, MAJOR SPOILERS below!)

Fanfic Writers: Director’s Cut

The One with Hope’s Wedding

This was the fic that broke me out of an 18-or-24-month writing slump! (I had pushed out a few one-shots, and made minuscule progress on some of my long-suffering WIPs, during that period, but I couldn’t write consistently.)

This past summer, Nick at Nite had a Friends block in the evening, which happened to coincide with the hours I’d be making and eating (and cleaning up after) dinner, and there was nothing else on, and I’d only seen a few episodes of the show here and there (the finale, but never the pilot, for starters), so why not?

After watching for a few months, I got an idea on July 4 and started writing the next day. (How naïve, thinking it’d only be 5-6 more scenes and another 2400 words [for 4800 total] 😂 It ended up being more than 16K words!)

This was one of those fics where I had one scene in mind and had to write the whole rest of the fic to get to it…literally the last scene. (See these reblogs about this writer’s meme.) If you know anything about Friends, I imagine you can figure out where this is going…there are a few iconic scenes, including the two-part fourth-season finale where Ross gets married (his second attempt at marriage…which, too, is doomed to fail).

I remember standing in the kitchen and my brain suddenly said, “Wouldn’t it be fun to write the wedding scene where Hope says Josie’s name?” Yes, brain, indeed it would be fun to write that scene! Unfortunately, doing so requires writing a ton of scaffolding to get to it.

Most of this two-part episode of Friends was set (and shot!) in London, as Ross’s fiancée is British (they met because her uncle was Rachel’s new boss, a butler-esque head of personal shopping at Bloomingdale’s). In at least one of my long-suffering WIPs, I have spun Malivore (Landon’s father) into Sir Malcolm “Mal” Ivor Kirby, a minor British aristocrat, so I took that route here, too, and started filling in characters, backstories, and actual words on my fic’s scaffolding.

In addition to the actual wedding/name screwup scene, there’s another iconic scene for the series in this pair of episodes, the one where Ross’s younger sister Monica and his best friend/college roommate Chandler semi-drunkenly and shockingly sleep together—and then become the series’s other major couple. Hope, of course, doesn’t have a true sibling, but she could have a BFF Lizzie and a college friend/BFF Penelope, which let me keep that important subplot and have a chance to write my second(?)-favorite Legacies pairing, enemies/frenemies-to-lovers Penelope Park x Lizzie Saltzman!

One of the things you realize after watching 10 20-24-episode (only 30 minutes each, thankfully!) seasons of Friends back to back in couple-hour blocks is that the eponymous friends spend a lot of the time actively poking fun—and, worse, being actively cruel—at each other. In 30 minutes a week for half the year, it’s not so apparent, but in any sort of binging…they become tedious. So I tried to tone some of that down to keep the characters more likable, make Josie-as-Rachel a little less selfish, and so on.

The other fun thing is that the Friends showrunners stuffed that pair of episodes chock full of British cameos, everyone from Richard Branson to Sarah, Duchess of York, to Olivia Williams and noted comic actors such as Hugh Laurie and Ab Fab’s Jennifer Saunders and June Whitfield. While members of Landon’s family were already mapped to Legacies characters, I wanted to keep a few cameos, especially Hugh Laurie’s man on the plane whom Rachel annoys by incessantly relating her and Ross’s entire relationship history. I finally settled on Tom Felton for this, someone younger and still well-known who could pull off a grumpy man successfully (not just Draco Malfoy, but also Julian Albert / Alchemy from The Flash).

The other cameo I kept was the airline ticket agent Rachel/Josie encounters trying to get to London. Since I had toned down Rachel’s selfishness for Josie, I could make this scene play differently, too. I eventually landed on Sister Beatrice from Warrior Nun, since there’s a lot of overlap between the Hosie and Avatrice fandoms. I also thought “Beatrice” was appropriate as a name, since in Dante’s The Divine Comedy, Beatrice is Dante’s guide out of Purgatory and into Paradise. So unlike the ticket agent in Friends, Beatrice is fully supportive of Josie’s quest to get to the love of her life in time.

Sadly, I don’t think very many people recognized either of these cameos 😭 But I still had fun writing them. (And such difficult research that was, staring at pictures of Kristina Tonteri-Young in costume in order to describe her recognizably 😏)

@persevereforahappyending has convinced me to make this a whole series of episodes. I don’t know how many I will ever write—too many fic ideas, not enough time, but I do I have a whole document full of ideas and additional character mappings for this series—but The One with Hope’s Wedding ended on that cliffhanger, so everyone is waiting impatiently for the resolution! 😂 I was making good progress on the sequel until it came time for Hosietober, and I’ve been pulled in too many different directions since then, but it is 60-70% complete, so hopefully sometime this winter 🤞

Hi! First of all I love your work! Second, for the WIP ask thing I'd love any thoughts you have knocking around your head on I'll Carry Your Heart Until I Find You Again. I've been meaning to reread it, and I love it to bits!

Okay, so I have, probably, the most thoughts surrounding this fic! This fic is based off the first prompt I ever sent to @stealingyourbones and I sent it as a prompt because it was too much for me to dive in and write it myself.

I still get a little intimidated when I think of what I want to do for it.

And honestly? I'm gonna need to get my hands on some comics to do it justice. I already realized there's some minor time line things I want to adjust for the parts I've already posted, but those shouldn't make a huge difference to the fic. Just need to adjust Jason's death date and some of the details surrounding his resurrection.

I'm gonna put the rest under a cut because, again, this isn't a snippet. It's a discussion of where I'm going to take the fic in broader terms. So ~spoilers~ 😘

Meanwhile, Jason is running around without any of his ghostly memories because those are locked into his core and he doesn't have it.

Anyway, Danny is traveling all over the realms trying to learn ghost medicine to figure out ways to wake up Jason. But nothing he tries works. Frostbite and the Yetis are also searching to no results.

After a time, Danny gets the idea to look into magical healing rather than ghost healing. So he looks up magic users he might be able to learn from.

Which is when he learns about The House of Mysteries and it's current owner/resident John Constantine. (And this is why I'm gonna need to read a bunch of comics. I need to know more than dpxdc fanon about Constantine.) He realizes John Constantine is someone he can make a deal with and could have the knowledge he needs for Jason.

Shenanigans ensue. (But it's all super angsty because I'm me.)

au - off to a great start already! basically its an au of my au wotb where the champions Know how link died rather than being told that it was a yiga assassination (which. fair assumption but still). while i havent wrote it i would like to

ship - sadly its not about boats . i wanted to explore a botw robbie/link ship/dynamic? its been in my head since ive read robbies diary and its a Rare ship that i think would work well!

short - trying to do a short story of how wotb link and revali became friends/the tipping point. i was also going to draw it as a comic but the problem is i was struggling getting it out. a mix of having to have the dynamic i have in mind Work and having their own.. goals? personalities? align was painful. and still is painful evidently, as i havent done jack all with it (besides minor planning). i do want to do this though so help me,

purah - i wanted to make a botw purah centered fic just to put more purah fics out there. maybe centered around first moving to hateno but so far the plot is unclear

Wip Excerpt: HTKAG

In light of this wip hitting another 10k word goal recently (currently sitting pretty at a whopping 120k/150k 😅), another excerpt is due! This babe I wrote today, buut I actually loved it so much I knew I had to share it with y'all right away. That all being said, let's stop wasting time and get straight into it!

Our scene begins with Allister entering a restaurant to have dinner with Mikko, Fingal, and Perci, but Perci is late.

Upon telling the hostess Fingal’s name, she leads me away to the right half of the room. Off in a booth stowed away in the corner sit Mikko and Fingal jabbering away mid-conversation. Once they notice me, they stop and smile.

“Hey! There’s the man of the hour,” Mikko exclaims, throwing his hands in the air.

“Not late, am I?” I grin, taking a seat beside him.

“Nope. Right on time to get some drinks,” Mikko starts smouldering at our hostess.

“With what money?” Fingal retorts with a glare.

Mikko blinks, struggling to come up with a defense. It seems he mustn't have anticipated Fingal to interrupt his attempt at flirting…

“Wha - With our money, of course,” he laughs, trying his best to make a smooth recovery.

“Aye. Which is why we’re not using my money to buy alcohol while a minor is here.”

Mikko doesn’t reply. Then again I suppose he doesn't need to, his confusion is written all over his face.

“Don’t tell me you forgot about Perci. He’ll be here any minute.”

“Oh! Fuck, that’s right. Him. Well obviously he won’t be getting any. And come on! You know how fast I can down a beer Fin! It’ll just be a few. Just a few rounds! Don’t be an ass.”

“Watch yourself Mikko, it's not polite to use such language in the presence of a lady.” I chime in, giving the hostess a polite smile.

“Oh I’ll show you what’s not polite-” Mikko says before slapping my head.

I try to hit him back, but he catches my hand before I can. Before we know it, we’re caught in a ridiculous slapping fight, both laughing our asses off.

“Not in a restaurant, not in a restaurant!” I speak through gasps, trying to end things.

Mikko obliges, tossing his hands back in his lap.

“A waiter will be right with you,” the hostess makes a case to look at each one of us except for Mikko before finishing her sentence, “... gentleman.”

Much to my surprise, Mikko doesn’t seem to be affected by that backhanded insult. Instead he kicks his knees up against the table and rests his head back, totally listless.

“Mikko, I would’ve thought you’d be more offended by that.”

“Huh? Why would I be offended at something when it’s true?”

“I’ll say. You and Al couldn’t be any more opposite. If there’s anything larger than the truth, the fact that you’re not a gentleman is way beyond it.”

“Exactly. And Mikko, you are aware of the fact that she was just a hostess, right? It isn’t even her job to serve us drinks.”

“I... “ Mikko laughs before leaning over the table again. “Listen. You two just don’t get it, do you? No. You don’t. Allow me to be the one who graces your palettes here, eh? Let me tell you what I’m gonna do. Okay? I’m gonna give you a tip. A piece of advice that will change your lives forever. All for free! You don’t even have to pay me. All you gotta do is listen. Got it? You both ready?”

Fingal and I share a look. I can tell we’re thinking along a similar vein of confused intrigue. We should most likely stop Mikko here, as whatever will come out his mouth won’t be anything good. However, we’re both too stunned to stop him, so…

Mikko beckons us to lean closer to him. Fin and I oblige. We’re almost touching heads when at last our dear mentor speaks once again, in a hushed voice. “It’s not about what you say. It’s about how you say it.”

…

There are no words. For about a minute straight Fingal and I are just staring at each other wearing the same expression that exudes two questions. ‘What the fuck? You’ve heard that too, haven’t you?’

Soon after that’s established and our shock subsides, we burst back to life. Fingal starts us off with, “Dammit Mikko. What the fuck? Where did you learn that? Who taught you that?”

“Some guys from the bar! Why, what’s wrong with it?”

“Which guys from the bar?”

“I don’t see how it-”

“Mikko. Which guys from the bar taught you this?” Fingal insists, a flash of anger showing in his eyes.

Mikko seems to notice this, and complies straight away. “Leo, John, Peter and Paul!”

Fingal buries his head in his hands. This sparks my curiosity. I haven’t heard these names before, but Fin clearly has.

“I can’t say I’m familiar with them, who might they be?”

“Bar friends-” Mikko starts, only for Fingal to finish for him.

“Jokesters. Jerks. Cheapskates always looking for a laugh. Assholes. Can’t wait to give them a piece of my mind.”

Mikko shrinks away from Fin. His head is turned away from me, but I don’t need to see it in order to know how stunned he is. It’s expressed flawlessly through the abnormal quietness of his voice. “Fin? What’s up, why’d you-”

“Because those dicks have been filling your head with shit like this every damn time I turned my back, Mikko! Dammit, this - this is why you always get rejected! Universe, I just wish you would’ve checked with me first about things like this. Not some strangers you barely even know, yet idolize them anyway.

You wanna know how you get a girl Mikko? Huh? You be nice. You be nice to them, you talk with them, and you listen. Compliments and flirting, all that helps, of course, but not forever! And you sure as hell can’t build a relationship strictly off of it. Okay? Standards and expectations vary from girl to girl, but with each and every single one there are a few things that you just have to do. Be nice, have respect, help them just for the sake of helping them! Don’t expect anything in return. Overall just - just be a decent fucking human being. That is how you get a girl.”

Mikko sits there, staring at his brother. I can’t help but do the same. In every respect, Fingal is right. Of course he is. It’s just… rare that we see him so worked up. I can hardly believe my eyes. I can hardly believe my ears, I… I can’t imagine how Mikko must be feeling.

Oh so gradually his head sinks down into his lap. He slumps over, and I swear I can see fractions of tears reflect the golden light radiating above us.

“Can’t believe I’m actually telling you this when you’re eighteen. Fucking eighteen,” Fingal scoffs, crossing his arms.

“I’m sorry-”

“Don’t be. I’m not mad at you. This is my own fault, I blame myself.”

“Aw, come on man! That’s even worse,” pouts Mikko.

Fingal then turns to me with an abruptness that makes me jump. “Al, what’s up? You’ve been quiet for a while. You can back me up on this, can’t you?”

“I…” I force a chuckle to try and lighten the air some. “I don’t think that I’m currently in a position to give advice like this, to be honest with you.”

Fingal leans his elbows on the table, holding his head with one hand. “Why? Something happen with Maddie?”

“Oh, did it ever,” I shake my head.

Buut yeah. Legit I swear I didn't mean to go so hard on feminist Fingal 😂 I mean don't get me wrong here, he's absolutely right and I'm keeping it in. But still, the words just kept on coming and coming and we ended up with this

Plus tbh, writing the part where Mikko is stroking his ego and whispers his ‘top secret trick to get women’, I was literally laughing out loud 😂 like he's just so wrong, and I love how horribly Mikko fails in life. It's just super funny to me, I enjoy it a lot.

Fingal, however, clearly does not enjoy it, lmao. Legit I had no clue he could be so protective until today! Especially over Mikko. I mean I always knew their dynamics, but today… it really hit home for me.

Go back and look at the line of dialogue Fingal says right after Mikko apologizes (a rare occurrence, actually).

It’s just one little piece of dialogue, barely a few sentences! Yet I feel like it hits you. You know? It reveals so much about his and Mikko’s vibes, their situation. A pair of brothers poor and orphaned by their birth parents and raised by their grandmother, who is only growing older and weaker each year. Fingal, the eldest, having to take responsibility often. He feels pressured to raise his little bro, and feels like he's failed when Mikko turns out to be the way he is. Ya know? It's just one little thing of dialogue but I feel like it makes you feel the pressure Fin has to bear in a situation like theirs. Even if it’s only for a moment.

And Mikko! While he does incite a lot of the comic relief in HTKAG, I wouldn’t call him a strict comic relief character because that's never what I had in mind while writing him. He and Fin actually play a vital role in the plot of the story! Much more than what I can currently reveal to y'all.

Buut anyways, I'll stop rambling now. I really hope you guys enjoyed this little excerpt just as much as I adored writing it :)

wips i won't post: if WIP means stuff that's got a file on my pc that i write at least notes in, all of them i would post. i don't bother writing it down otherwise. i have a ton of story ideas i play around with at any given moment to keep my brain happy, and some of them are way darker (or monsterfuck-y) than anything i've posted but even they migjt get transmuted into a new wip or incorporated into an existing thing. i want to get better writing disturbing stuff or horror after all, and i'm less embarrassed by dark shit than worried i'm not yet able to portray it how i want

although--there is some stuff i won't post that might count. way back when i was a teen and it was just me and a notebook and no confidence i could ever post stuff, i worked out some hp fics in great detail. i wouldn't write hp now, and even then i knew these ideas needed incredible care and political consciousness. because the protagonists were racist terrorists who were both in pain and vile violent people, to their victims and each other, and pain begets empathy but that mustn't lead to sympathising or prioritising them over the victims

one was about minor deatheaters avery and mulciber (famous user of the imperius curse). so they were friends and mulciber used to practice the imperius on avery with permission, and then when they were doing racist terrorism mulciber realized that avery wasn't cut out for doing the brutality they believed in but couldn't leave either mulciber used he imperius to convince voldemort avery wasnt a liability, and then during the trial avery uses that history of being imperiusd to get out of azkaban and gets a cushy new life. and then bam. voldemorts back, and the azkaban breakout

another: rabastan lestrange's captured and dumped on depressed sirius in the black home. sirius promptly 'forgets' to give him water but. back when bellatrix and rabastan's bro got married & rabastan was bi-incestuoudly heartbroken he made out with teenage sirius. and now they share the fucked up experience of azkaban. and rabastan's still a piece of trash but all of this forces sirius to work through painful shit

stuff i like doing that readers hate: plotting i guess 😅 by which i mean, i like making up stories and i'm so much faster at it than i am at writing, resulting in me having a ludicrous number of active wips, and for me it's a balm working on stuff simultaneously and switching when i get badly stuck but it makes for inconsistent updating

idea for Hell is just a beat away: so i read about the comic on tumblr, and what i knew was: sidious sends maul to slave auction. and i didn't read the actual comic until about a year later, which was ample time to come up with my own version. i was already into maul 'n savage bros for life at that point, so that swap just made sense, and for the plot my idea was everything's driven by accidental consequences of actions. because it's funny. maul got drunk and locked out, so he puts on sunglasses for his headache and a dude's massive clothes and no-one recognizes him as zabrak. savage tackles maul so eldra runs off so maul does too with the bomb remote so savage loses his leg (so eldra shows savage how to locate the other bombs with the force so [massive spoiler])

I'm interested in the young gods AU you're doing!! What's that about? Is it inspired by the song?

The young gods AU is my shameless nonsense AU inspired entirely by the fact that I shipped Tibbet and Chase in Overlord and both Iain de Caestecker and John Magaro have played “villains” with “professional” monikers in comic book shows - or, in John’s case, it’s heavily implied that his character in Umbrella Academy was based on The Conductor from the comics.

YGAU is the first DoctorConductor AU I plan on writing, and it will be sad and it will be chaotic and full of my two favorite broken boys with daddy issues. I have joked about this AU for coming up on 2 years now, I have hardly written a thing, and there’s a good chance that won’t change any time soon because *gestures toward life*

It’s called Young Gods because the Halsey song was the first thing that went on my ship playlist for Leopold and Leonard, and it’s going to eventually play with the lore from the TUA show verse. I have actually created an aesthetic for this AU, which has some minor spoilers for Leonard’s backstory in canon, but the basic summary is this:

Instead of going to prison in his teens, Harold Jenkins is recruited by the Commission, where he changes his name and trains to be an assassin. For a few years, he’s a solo agent using the codename The Conductor, being sent through time to complete his missions. Leopold is recruited from a timeline where Alistair was a part of his life, basically following Framework backstory, with the promise of being allowed to “retire” in any time or place he wants - in exchange for 10 years of service to the Commission. He’s allowed to use his title as the Doctor for his codename, and is paired up with the Conductor for the duration of his employment. At first, they’re reluctant to work together, and then they become friends, and maybe more. the third wheel on most of their missions is the sexual tension
