Stray Kids with an S/O who is a huge horror movie fan
pairing: ot8 x gn!reader
genre: fluff
disclaimer: this is as always just my opinion :)
a/n: as a huge horror movie fan myself, I had to write this! enjoy!🩷
Chan:
As he said before, it's not like he's scared of horror movies, he just doesn't think they're interesting to watch. But, you're interesting to him and he loves you so he will definitely try for you. He also thinks he won't get scared cause 'nothing scares him' but oh boy was he wrong. You have to promise him extra cuddles because he's not gonna be able to fall asleep that night. Will also try to dissect the plot with you after the movie, and try to find meaning in the story just so it's less scary to him.
If he was never really invested into the horror genre, you could show him the classics like The Shining(1980), The Omen(1976), The Amityville Horror (1979), Psycho(1960) and then also some newer iconic movies like Get Out(2017), The Ring(2002), Sinister(2012), Hereditary(2018) and The Conjuring(2013).
Minho:
Loves it. Loves to try and scare you while you're watching a movie together. At first, you're so happy that you can share your love for horror with your significant other. And you know he really doesn't like jumpscares, so you try to find movies that don't have many of those. But if they do and Minho predicts a jumpscare, he'll grab you at the same time it's happening, making you jump out of your skin even though you saw the movie already. You kinda start regretting watching horror movies with him because he annoys you on purpose. He thinks you're so adorable when you're mad at him, but he wont push too far and he'll always make it up with cuddles and kisses later. Overall, 10/10 experience.
I feel like he'd watch almost any horror movie cause he's a curious cat (hehe) and you'd both share your favorites.
I don't know why, but I also feel like Minho would appreciate good old silent horror movies. I just think if he's a horror fan he may enjoy seeing the roots of horror. Like The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari(1920), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde(1920), The Phantom Carriage(1921), Nosferatu(1922) and Häxan(1922).
Changbin:
I don't think he's too scared of them but I think he doesn't really care for them too much? Though, if you have some interesting thriller or detective movies to recommend he will definitely wanna watch them with you. I think Changbin likes a movie that has an intelligent story with a plot twist. He likes to guess what's gonna happen next and when he's actually right he'll be so happy and proud. He'll keep talking about how he guessed the plot and how smart he is and how you have to give him extra cuddles now. Either way, you're cuddling and snacking the whole time while watching and it's just nice and cozy.
I think he'd enjoy thrillers like The Game(1997), Fracture(2007), The Machinist(2004), The Double(2013), Shutter Island(2010), Zodiac(2007) and 1408(2007).
Hyunjin:
Miss him with that shit cause he ain't watching it unless you manage to coax him into it. It's gonna take a lot of persuading until he finally gives in but you have to be careful in choosing the right movie for Hyunjin. He doesn't like loud noises and he doesn't really like to feel scared. He'd rather watch something for the story, especially if it's an emotional one, and he also likes character driven stories.
I think he could watch artsy or slow creepy movies that are more drama-like but have elements of horror like Pan's Labyrinth(2006), Dark Water(2005), Windchill(2007), It Follows(2014), The Eyes Of My Mother(2016), I'm Thinking Of Ending Things(2020) and Case 39(2009).
Jisung:
Okay, with this one you can go crazy. Any weird horror movie, anything kinda disturbing, deranged or unhinged will be right up his ally. As a horror and anime fan himself, he's seen some pretty weird stuff so experiment, I guess. I also feel like he'd like fun horror movies, idk how to explain but ones that are disturbing but fun at the same time, like you can't look away even though you're looking at a train wreck.
Movies like Funny Games(2007), The Ruins(2008), Suspiria(1977), The Perfection(2018), Perfect Blue(1997), May(2002), Audition(2000), Saw franchise and Terrifier series would be fun for him. Also, since he mentioned Paranormal Activity, found footage horror movies would be fun to watch with Jisung too like Creep(2014), REC(2007), Unfriended(2015) and Cloverfield(2008).
Felix:
This is just not happening unless you can bribe him with cookies, gummies or any other sweets and ofcourse many cuddles and kisses, even more than you share usually. You'll have to practically beg him to watch a horror movie with you or make some kind of compromise that you'll participate in some activity he likes more than you later. He's not gonna sleep all night if you make him watch anything too scary, actually he wouldn't even be watching that. He'd probably be hidden in your neck the whole time and even the creepy sounds coming from the tv will give him nightmares.
The only way to make him watch horror movies is if they're mixed with comedy or they're so bad that they're funny. Like the Scream franchise, The Cabin In The Woods(2011), What We Do In The Shadows(2014), The Happening(2008), Tucker & Dale vs. Evil(2010), Housebound(2014) and ofcourse zombie comedies like One Cut Of The Dead(2017) and Shaun Of The Dead(2004).
Seungmin:
Kind of indifferent towards the scares but I think he gets annoyed with plot holes and characters acting stupid. Rolls his eyes at every over used trope or cliche sentence. You actually end up laughing while watching horror movies with him because he's too cute when he's annoyed.
"How is this killer still alive? He's been run over by a truck ten times, this is stupid!" or "Okay but why is he going towards the sound? Is he that dumb, he's gonna die!"
He does like dry humor though so he'd like some black comedy movies with horror elements like American Psycho(2000), Parasite(2019), The Lobster(2015), The Menu(2022) but also if you want to annoy him on purpose (because he's cute when he gets worked up) show him slashers like the Halloween franchise, Friday the 13th franchise and Black Christmas(2019).
Jeongin:
With Jeongin, I feel like it can go either way and it definitely depends on the theme of the movie. Also, he will probably try to act brave in front of you (until he jumps at a loud sound and then gets embarassed). For some reason I don't have an exact subgenre of horror for him but for some reason I feel like he'd like newer horror movies like Us(2019), Nope(2022), Last Night In Soho(2021), His House(2020), Host(2020), The Invisible Man(2020) and Fear Street film series.

✶✶✶
Hit after hit, inhale after inhale, the burning in your chest is hardly filled with smoke but desire in its stead. Everything just feels so damn good when you're high, so much more intense. Your body can barely handle the feeling of your own skin. So it feels like fire at every touch and pull from Minho and Seungmin.
Seungmin is under you, your hands propped up on either side of his head while his cock stays settled in your pussy. He stopped moving a long time ago. There's no need for him to when Minho has you gripped by the hips, fucking himself deep into your ass. Your entire body jolts at every thrust, effectively getting the other cock to rock inside you gently.
Being at a distance from Seungmin gives Hyunjin the opening to stand beside the bed, using a large hand to guide your head to his pulsing cock. His tip is wet against your lips, slightly salty, but in all the right ways. Your jaw unhinges to let his head slip between your lips, groaning at the warmth of your mouth.
Minho puckers his lips and lets saliva drip down his mouth to your ass, adding some lubrication. Not that you needed it; he spent what felt like hours opening up your tight hole with his tongue. You moan at the feel of the moisture dripping off you, leaking onto your even wetter pussy to Seungmin's cock.
"Fuck. Putting all your holes to use, huh?" Minho chuckles behind you. With Hyunjin stretching your mouth, you try and nod. It's hardly noticeable being that your entire body is rocking, but Minho coos as your efforts nonetheless.
Seungmin places his hands on your breasts, groping and twisting your nipples to hear your muffled whines on Hyunjin's cock. "What hole do you like being fucked in the most? Or are you such a slut you need all of them filled?" A sudden thrust from Seungmin makes your eyes roll back, cream flooding onto his length as you easily cum from your heightened senses.
Hyunjin is the only one being nice to you. Brushing your hair from the view of you sucking him off while holding your face in his hands. But even then, he can't help himself just pressing a little too deep to feel your throat gag and tighten around him.
"She can't choose so quick, Seung," Hyunjin tuts with a smirk on his lips. "We haven't taken turns fucking them all, yet."
a/n: ik you prolly wanted a full fic but i don't think I would be able to recreate that masterpiece :( so here's a drabble instead! and thank you sm! psa! for the love of god PLEASE send me asks I never get anyyyy, it's tumbleweeds there :(

waiting for us — chapter forty five. andong wc. 736 + 2 SS
The trip to Andong isn’t too bad with you ending up in the car driven by Minho, sandwiched between Felix and Jeongin. Half of the ride is spend listening to music, all of the boys singing along loudly while the other half is spent asleep, head nestled on Felix’s shoulder.
You take the time to get settled into your room before you and Seungmin decide to head towards the garden. It ends up being not too far from the hotel so you had decided to walk, enjoying the rather nice day outside.
The garden is breathtaking, pretty arched bridges and rivers with cute koi fish. Plus it was the perfect time of the year as the sakura trees were just starting to bloom. You had quickly learned that Seungmin had a bit of an ulterior motive for picking this spot. He had not stopped taking pictures of you, quietly posing you - falling into his photographer mindset. The boys had warned you that when Seungmin got inspired it was hard to get him to stop. But the way his eyes were looking at you so softly made you reluctant. So like always, you let the boy indulge just a little.
The date is comfortable, small talk here and there. You had already known that Seungmin was one of the more quiet ones, reserved. Though you had definitely seen him be just as chaotic and unhinged as the rest of them, you just figured he needed to get used to you, which you totally didn’t blame him for.
The two of you sat on a bench, not too close, a few inches apart and you could tell Seungmin was nervous, fiddling with his fingers. He had been fairly normal on the date, though most of the time was spent behind the camera and now that he could hide behind it, the nerves came back at full force.
“I’m sorry,” Seungmin mutters suddenly. Your eyebrows furrow as you turn to look at the boy. He’s looking anywhere but you.
“For what?”
Seungmin shrugs. “For being awkward. I’m- bad with feelings, sometimes I really don’t know how to express myself so I can come off indifferent or even mean. And I’m probably the least good looking out of everyone. Though to be fair they’re all pretty hot. Don’t tell them I said that,”
At that you gasp and swat at his arm, of course not very hard but it causes him to look back over to you, blinking at your reaction.
“How dare you?” Seungmin’s expression suddenly turns fearful at your words but you continue before he can panic. “First of all I need you to know how insanely attractive you are? Like? Fuck. You are so handsome Seungmin. All of you guys are, there is no tier list of who is the prettiest. So if I hear you saying something like that again I will be drilling it into your head that you are gorgeous,” He’s blushing furiously now but you’re not finished. “And I think we both know that I’m just as bad with feelings like my ass didn’t try to run away at the first thought of finding my soulmates. So we can be bad with feelings together ok? Besides maybe you’re not good at verbally expressing your affection but you definitely show it. The way you subtly care about the others, subconsciously trying to take care of them. It shows Seungmin and they know it to. So don’t sell yourself short just because you don’t express your love in the same way,”
He’s still blinking at you, cheeks flushed and staring at you a little starry eyed. Before you can even ask if you had said too much he’s cupping your cheeks and pulling you towards him. It’s a rather quick kiss, just lips pressed together for a few seconds but it still manages to take your breath away. When Seungmin pulls back he’s grinning a little cheekily, nodding his head towards the entrance of the garden.
He clears his throat. “Shall we go? The others will probably be wondering where we are and blowing up our phones soon,”
This time you’re the one blinking at him, a pretty red taking over your face. “Um. Yeah. Ok,” You’re reduced to simple words, moving to follow Seungmin who seems very pleased with himself. It seems that someone has clearly found their confidence. You certainly don’t mind though.

Sign Here For... (HJS x F!Reader)
pairing: delivery boy!Jisung x afab!reader genres/au/rating: crack, smut, fluff, one night stand au, 18+ summary: Feeling frustrated and reeling from your recent breakup, you put in a special order on your favorite delivery app. However, with the goods, comes Jisung, who's a lot more than you'd ever bargained for.
word count: 4.0k
warnings: past relationship and referenced breakup (Minho x reader), regrettable decisions are made, Jisung and reader are both so very shy and cute but also bold, lots of innuendos, alcohol use, swearing, some little thoughts of self-doubt, Jisung's black nail polish, unexpected feels, smut warnings: nsfw thoughts, sex toys, making out, nipple play, fingering (f receiving), oral (m and f receiving), unprotected sex (the pull-out method)
a/n: djsksk what is this?? except the unhinged product of both my imagination and my infatuation with Han Jisung. this is my first time writing a fic for anybody besides bts, so I'm super nervous about this. Special thanks to Miss Emme (@temptaetions) for informing me that Dashmart, of all places, sells sex toys which then became the impetus for whatever kind of delusional thing this is. i hope you enjoy, and please be nice!
This had the potential to be a bad idea. A very bad idea. Rubbing at your eyes, you glare at your phone screen in the dark, legs tucked underneath you on the couch. If this backfired, maybe you could blame the blue light. Your psych professor in college had always loved to mumble about how cell phones were killing the younger generations’ brain cells.
Or, you could blame the fact that you’d shown up to Chan’s party last night, determined to have a good time after months of moping over your breakup, only to find your ex, Minho, sucking face with a new girl. Yeah. You could definitely blame it on that.
It wasn’t like you didn’t expect him to move on — it was just that you also expected yourself to have. Minho had been your first and only relationship, lasting through all of college and beyond before you’d broken up, deciding your lives were heading in different directions.
Honestly, you hadn’t been upset until the party last night. You’d accepted the breakup, growing pains were inevitable when you’d gotten together so young. But the fact that he’d moved on this quickly and you hadn’t stung.
Not to mention you were horny. Four years with Minho and then just like that, it all stopped. All you wanted was to get laid again. Unfortunately, after a disastrous drunken encounter on a dating app with a physical therapy student named Changbin, in which he’d fallen asleep before you’d even done the deed, you decided that it might have been too soon, and to take a step back.
But you were human, and if devoting your college years to studying the human psyche had taught you anything, it was that humans were needy. Very needy. For food, for shelter, for company. Which is why you were surprised at how the human race hadn’t crumbled already, given the rate of break-ups and divorces occurring these days. The problem was, that despite being needy, humans were also overthinkers.
So you’d spent a week pondering over what you were about to do, rationalizing every aspect of it in your brain - the pros, the cons, the consequences. And had almost talked yourself out of it when running into Minho tonight had been the catalyst for driving your decision the other way completely.
All you wanted was to hop onto your favorite delivery app, ready to wallow in pity over some ice cream and chips, and maybe Pride and Prejudice (2005), but then you’d seen it.
It seemed delivery apps were becoming more and more full service these days. Because right there, past the Doritos and the body wash, were sex toys.
You feel your throat go dry and eyes widen as they flash across the screen - all different sizes, shapes, and colours. There was more variety than you expected.
Immediately, you groan at yourself. More variety than you expected? Who expected to see sex toys on a delivery app anyway? The drought must finally have been getting to your brain.
Throwing your phone aside, you groan, trying to ignore the throbbing at your temple and in between your thighs. Maybe it was time to go out and find someone – maybe your self-imposed celibacy was driving you stir-crazy. It wouldn’t be so crazy to check out Minho’s Instagram, and see how he was doing…
“Get it together!” you mumble to yourself, pinching your arm. You were not going to stoop to the level of texting your ex. However, you were going to stoop to a different level entirely. You wipe your clammy palms on your thighs, picking your phone back up and clicking on a pink one quickly, immediately scrolling down to avoid dealing with the consequences of your transgression.
A few minutes later, you’ve managed to fill the cart with a dozen different snacks…and well… the other thing. It taunts you as you check out, and you focus your mind elsewhere, like the berry cheesecake ice cream you’d ordered. This was just another form of self-care, right?
You can feel the blood rushing in your ears and a bead of sweat trickles down your back, and you make the decision to hop into the shower while you waited. Sighing, you push yourself to stop being the overthinker you’d always been. Whoever was in charge of it would just put it at the door and then leave. It was none of their business, right?
Jisung really wasn’t a judgemental person. He knew people went through so much in their lives, which is why he never questioned orders with enough food for twelve people, only for one person to show up at the door. Or when someone ordered just yogurt and Tide Pods. People tended to forget things. Or they wanted to enjoy things. And who was he to stop them?
But right now, he was conflicted. He’d thought nothing of the order he’d just gotten, clicking accept on his delivery app, but then he’d done a double take when he actually saw what he’d had to pick up. Chugging along to the store on his red bicycle, he heaves for breath, trying to calm the racing in his heart.
You had to be joking right? Maybe you’d clicked it by mistake. He was more than used to his fair share of strange requests, but delivering a vibrator to someone’s doorstep was a new one. For a second, he’d thought about calling to confirm that you’d actually meant to order it, along with a mountain of snacks, but pushed the thought away immediately. That would only make things more awkward.
He wondered what could have possessed you to do something so impulsive. But then a lightbulb went off in his head. People tended to make rash decisions when they were going through a tough time — like a breakup. And suddenly, it all made sense to Jisung.
And being the empathetic person he was, his heart twinged for your sadness. You must have been really lonely. He wondered who could have broken up with you to make you so upset - from what he saw from your snack choices, you already had impeccable taste and he liked you. So he’d make sure you got your things safely.
Pulling up to the store, Jisung parks his bike away safely, the bell above the door signaling his entrance. The store clerk takes one look at him in his snapback with the app’s logo on it, and can barely hold back a smirk. Jisung feels his cheeks heat up… this wasn’t even his stuff, why was he feeling self-conscious?
“I’m uh, here for, —” he chokes out, feeling his throat close up, unable to get the words out. “Yeah.”
“Here you go,” the store clerk pushes the bag his way, unable to hold back their laughter, and Jisung feels a flash of anger go through him. Yeah, it was odd, but there was no reason to be so judgemental about it. “I hope whoever it is enjoys themselves.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure they do,” he blurts out, watching the clerk’s eyes widen before he realizes what he’d just said. “I-, I mean I’ll make sure they get it, you know?”
He decides it’s time to leave before he does something even more stupid, slapping his palm against his forehead while he rushes out. What was it about this specific time that had him so flustered?
Actually, he knows what it was. He’d taken one look at the pink vibrator nestled away in its packaging, and thoughts of what would happen to it after he’d left it at your door raced through him. Rubbing a hand at the back of his neck, he wipes away the sweat that collects at his nape, taking a few deep breaths before hopping back on his bike.
Looking at the map, your apartment was only a couple of blocks away. He had to get it together before then.
Shaking out your wet hair, you slip your oversized t-shirt on, pulling up your fluffy socks, only to be interrupted by a knock at the door. That couldn’t be what you thought it was. You decide to wait a few minutes to see if they knock again, and sure enough, they do.
You huff, looking down at your app. You’re pretty sure you’d clicked “leave at front”. But whoever “Jisung” was, he clearly didn’t get the memo, knuckles continuing to rap at your door.
“Helloooo,” his voice calls out, laced with genuine concern. “Is anyone there?”
Filled with annoyance, you stomp over to the door, pulling it open, ready to give this guy a piece of your mind when—,
Oh. Oh.
Big, brown doe eyes look at you from the other end, glassy and filled with sparkles, and your mind immediately goes blank, forgetting what you were so upset about. You stay there, lips parted, taking in every detail of the handsome stranger currently at your door, from his longish hair that falls in his eyes underneath his snapback, to the black painted fingernails on his slender hands.
The two of you remained locked in a stare for a few moments, Jisung unable to take his eyes off you either, and that’s when it registers that you’re only wearing a t-shirt and socks. You have the urge to slam the door in his face and scream from embarrassment, but then you wouldn’t be able to see his pretty face.
Jisung lets out a strangled sound, somewhere in between choking and a cough, hitting his chest in order to get the words out.
“Hi, I’m here with your order,” his voice cracks when he presents the bag full of things, the pink vibrator lying right on top
Your lips remain parted in an “o”, unable to say anything, eyes flitting in between your order and the cute delivery boy at your door. Eventually, you realize you should do something. Just maybe. So he doesn’t think you’re weird.
“I, uh, thank you, uhm, Jisung was it?” you watch his eyes widen at your acknowledgement, a smile lighting up his face. And it has your heart doing backflips.
“No problem, I hope you enjoy it!” Jisung responds enthusiastically, his ears reddening when he realizes what he’d just said.
Time seems to stand still when you accept the bag, watching him zip up his backpack and put on his jacket, those black nails taunting you. For a moment you imagine what they’d feel like inside of —
“Do you wanna come inside?” The words tumble from your lips before you can stop them, and Jisung freezes. You swear you hear him curse underneath his breath.
This was insane. Probably the most insane thing you’d done since breaking up with Minho. But he gave you butterflies in a way that no one had for a long time, and maybe, just maybe, this was a sign from the universe to take a risk. One more time.
“Jisung,” you repeat slowly, and he finally looks up at you, checking over his shoulder to see if you’re talking to him. “Do you want to come inside?”
He shrugs his jacket off, letting his backpack slip off until it’s hanging off one shoulder before he nods, unable to take his eyes off you standing on the other side of the threshold.
“I’d love to.”
Jisung feels like he’s going to pass out, wondering if he was having an out-of-body experience. Not only did he deliver his first sex toy today, but of course it had to be to one of the hottest girls he’d ever seen. None of it seemed real, as he followed you into your cosy apartment, filled with fairy lights and soft cushions.
A troublesome thought crosses his mind as he slips off his jacket and shoes, when he thinks back to how maybe you’d been going through a break-up. You inviting him in only served to strengthen that suspicion in his mind, but you’d been nothing but nice, just as shy and nervous at he’d felt. Whatever this was, Jisung was down for it, whether you just needed someone to talk to or — he thinks back to the pink vibrator.
Perhaps it was better not to get ahead of himself.
“Make yourself comfortable,” your soft voice echoes from the kitchen. He can hear you rustling around in there, putting away your things, and it makes him even more flustered. He looks around for anything to distract him from his racing mind, settling on a few photo frames of you and another guy, posing with three cats.
“I should probably take those down,” you surprise him again, coming up from behind and setting down some of the snacks you’d gotten and a few bottles of soju. “I haven’t really had anyone over here since the breakup.”
He was honestly shocked you were still on the rebound from your last relationship, given that you were — well you. If he’d known you then, heartbreak wouldn’t even have been a word in your vocabulary.
“It wasn’t horrible, if that’s what you’re wondering,” you reassure him, seeing a cute frown cross his face. “Minho was my first for a lot of things, but eventually you realize not everything is meant to last forever.”
“Is that why you, uh, you needed the things today?” Jisung chokes on sip of soju, hoping the sharp liquid can make him a little less awkward. From the way you fidget with your hair, he realizes it’s not helping at all on that front.
“Enough about me,” you take another swig, a bit of soju dribbling down your chin, and Jisung fights the urge to reach over and wipe it off. But then he’d be too close.
Jisung is a natural talker, opening up easily about himself and his life, from his own cute puppy to his friend group. Through the course of the conversation, he realizes that you’re older than him, but it doesn’t bother him. Something about the earnestness in your eyes makes him feel comfortable. It doesn’t help that you’re stunning under the dim lights, your damp skin shining and lips twisting into an adorable grin while you listen to him talk.
He wonders if he’s being a bit too forward, unable to keep his eyes off them while he goes on, but if you notice, you don’t say anything.
Half an hour later, and the distance between the two of you on the couch is completely non-existent, your thighs pressed up against Jisung’s while you giggle at his Doraemon impression.
He knows he’s probably a little tipsy, both of you are, but that doesn’t stop shock from registering when you pick up his hands, intertwining your fingers to marvel at his nail polish.
You bring them close to you, and even though he’s not touching you, he can swear he feels the thud of your heartbeat underneath your shirt.
“Do you like them?” his voice is gravelly as he asks the question, the soju making him feel like he’s floating.
“I do,” you stutter out. “They look really fucking good, I want them to, I-I mean I want some like them, shit–”
Another giggle bubbles from your lips and Jisung thinks he’s going to lose his mind, watching your eyes grow heavy-lidded, still clutching his hands in yours. The two of you are impossibly close now, any more and you’d be on top of him, but maybe he wants that. Maybe you want it too.
You squeak when he pulls you on top of him, the haze clearing momentarily when he feels your legs straddle him, clutching onto his shirt to avoid falling over completely. Jisung grips your thighs to hold you steady, and your stomach swims at his proximity. Looking into your eyes, he sees your pupils go dark, your throat bobbing while the two of you remain frozen, contemplating your next move.
He watches you suck in a breath, breaking eye contact to look over at the photo frames on your shelf, sadness flashing in your eyes. It stirs something within him, and he stops you midway, cupping your chin in his hands and tilting your head back towards him.
“Can I kiss you?” His voice is lower than he’s ever heard it, desire seeping into every crevice, and he sees you give a little nod before you’re leaning in, crashing your lips onto his.
Jisung stifles a groan, melting into the kiss, your soft, slightly chapped lips adding to the fire that fuels in between you. A whine escapes the back of your throat, your nails raking through the hair at the nape of his neck, pulling him into you. He traces the inside of your mouth, pressing you down onto his thighs, shocked to find wetness leaking onto his jeans.
You pull away with a flush, realization dawning on your face. Chewing your lower lip, you give him an apologetic look.
“Fuck, I’m sorry, I forgot I wasn’t wearing anything underneath…”
Jisung pulls you back into him, nipping at your bottom lip, before he’s pulling away again, his warm breath fanning into your neck.
“You don’t have to apologize baby,” he voice makes you shiver. “I came here for you after all.”
The two of you stumble back into your bedroom, lips clashing desperately, and you tug at the hem of Jisung’s shirt. He breaks away from your lips to allow you a small bit of focus, but it’s gone in seconds when he eyes your neck, pressing small kisses along its length, pausing to graze his teeth in a few spots.
You flutter your eyelashes against Jisung’s temple, finally grabbing hold of his shirt and slipping it over his head. You pause, taking him in, running your knuckles along his sides, and he shivers.
Jisung doesn’t even wait for you to finish undressing him, pushing you back onto your bed softly, watching the way your oversized t-shirt hikes up, exposing more and more of your body to him.
You feel your stomach fall into knots at the appreciative look in his eyes. It’d been so long since someone had looked at you like that, and you feel like you could explode from that alone. You cling onto his biceps, giving them a squeeze, and he moves quickly, pulling you flush against him so he can grab your shirt and tear it off.
Shoving you against him, he mouths at your jaw, tugging your hair so you arch up into him, grinding against the rough denim of his jeans. You collapse into a series of moans and sighs, rutting against him while Jisung continues to work you over, moving down to your neck, before he thumbs at your breasts.
The first swipe of his thumb against your nipple has you keening, throbbing with need until —
Jisung pins you in place, lifting his body slightly so you’re no longer touching. He toys with your nipple experimentally, giving it a squeeze, and you nearly sob at the contact, wanting to feel him again.
“Had to cut it off or I wouldn’t last,” he rumbles into your ear, stroking the soft skin of your stomach before he dips down in between your thighs, stroking exactly where you need him.
Jisung’s eyes widen in surprise at exactly how wet you seem to be, curiously swiping up and down before he plunges a finger in.
“Jisung, please, god, I—” you’re unable to get the words out, tugging at his hair while he fucks you open, your clit throbbing. Your hands roaming underneath the waistband of his pants, pushing at them uselessly, before Jisung pauses. You watch your arousal coat his fingers while he works the button open, finally pulling them off.
Closing your eyes, you ready to finally feel him, but like everything else today, Jisung is full of surprises, kneeling until he’s face first with you, exposed and open for him. The first press of his tongue against you has you bucking up into him, and you feel him smirk, his other hand reaching to press on your neck.
Your eyes flutter, your entire focus narrowing to where Jisung sucks on your clit, and then you’re breaking, nearly flying off the sheets as your thighs clamp around his head, both of you unable to contain your moans.
Jisung looks down at you, his lips swollen and messy with you on them, and you watch him study you, flushed and fucked out underneath him.
“Hey,” he says softly, brushing away the hair that’s fallen on your face. “You okay still?”
“Better than okay,” you mumble through your lips, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. It’s too soft a gesture for what this was supposed to be, but Jisung melts into it anyway, reveling in the quiet moment.
“Keep going please?” you breathe into his neck. There’s barely a moment to think before Jisung’s hands are on your ass again, pushing you up into him so he can line himself up with your entrance. Without warning, he slides in, bottoming out harshly, and you dig your nails into his back.
You open up wider, letting him grab your leg and rest it on his shoulder, and his arm braces itself around your waist, lifting you up so he can find your lips again, tongue catching all the sounds that fall out of you.
His hands roam all over you, like he can’t get enough of your body. Jisung’s sweat soaked bangs are messy as he throws his head back, thrusts getting sloppier and sloppier, and you know he’s close.
“Fuck,” he groans, rubbing tight circles on your clit, until you feel yourself snap, gushing around him. “Where can I–”
Your hand rests on his jaw, rubbing small circles into it, and you’re pushing him back, watching his eyes widen in shock as you lower, taking him in between your lips. Jisung makes a strangled noise when he feels himself hit the back of your throat, twitching once before spilling into you.
The two of you fall into each other, heavy breaths mingling, and Jisung buries his head into the crook of your neck. You feel him smile against you, and your own soft smile lights up your face, the both of you falling asleep holding each other.
It must be the middle of the night before you muster up the energy to move, cleaning yourself off and changing into a comfy shirt and sweatpants. Behind you, Jisung is still dozing off, his face even softer in sleep than it was awake, and you stroke his cheek.
Feeling bad, you slip out, deciding to make him a cup of coffee. There’s a pang in your heart when you realize that he has to leave after this, that the two of you made no promises to each other. Every muscle in your body is aching as you hunch over the boiling coffee pot, begging you to ask him to stay.
From the corner of your eye, you spot the pink vibrator sitting on the counter, still in its packaging, and you chuckle, realizing you’d never got a chance to put it away.
“I hope you’re not thinking of using that without me,” you jump in shock at Jisung’s voice, turning around to see him grinning at you, hair mussed and clothes rumpled.
“Oh god, Jisung, I’m so sorry, your job, I didn’t even realize,” panic sets in as you try to make an excuse, guilt filling your chest for dragging him into your heartbreak.
“___,” he comes up to you, wrapping you in a hug from behind, his head resting on your shoulder. “Believe me, I wouldn’t have stayed unless I wanted to. And I wanted to.”
“Really?” you breathe out, unable to believe he’s actually saying this. “Why?”
You can’t stop your voice from cracking, the doubt creeping in again when you thought about how things had been good with Minho, and yet they hadn’t lasted, believing that someway, somehow, it was your fault. That you hadn’t been enough.
Jisung chuckles into your neck, pressing a kiss onto your cheek.
“You’re so cute. I wanna be here for you, in whatever way you need. If that wasn’t evidence enough, I’m kinda into you.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
You feel your heart explode at his self-assuredness, finding comfort in his presence. When the morning came you knew he’d have to go, but maybe, just maybe, you’d let yourself be needy again. Especially when it worked out so well the last time.
a/n pt. 2: As always, any comments or feedback are much appreciated, but I appreciate you all anyway. Lots of love, Isi <3

Stray Kids as High School Romance AUs
Pairing: OT8 x fem!reader Genre: headcanon, fluff, angst if you squint Warnings: mentions of bullying but nothing super serious! Word Count: 5.4k
Lee Know
The mysterious one, a classic tsundere
You know that one kid who’s been in your class since you were a little kid but you still don’t know anything about them? Minho right there.
He sits in the back of class and says nothing, even though some of his friends (aka the rest of the boys) are so loud at lunch
He would just quietly eat his sandwich before he catches you watching him and stares right back at you, making you awkwardly look away
You’re so intrigued that you keep observing him, noticing little things like the cat stickers his phone is covered in, or the fact that he’s the secret mastermind behind the pudding trading business that your principal banned from school
Your first interaction with Minho is when you stumble upon him feeding a couple stray cats in the abandoned playground in your community
He’s super embarrassed to be caught being all soft and cute, especially given his cold front at school, but eventually warms up to you when you offer the cats some bread from your pocket
Meeting at the playground to pet the cats or just sit on the swings in a comfortable silence becomes your thing with Minho. You get to know each other better, and turns out, he’s actually really unhinged and chaotic and hilarious. The mysterious and borderline emo thing he worked is just a facade.
But things don’t change at school, because you feel like you don’t have an excuse to talk to him there.
Until one random day, he just walks into class and wordlessly sets his bag next to your chair
“Why are you sitting next to me?”
“I should be able to sit next to my girl, right?”
You’re confused and exhilarated and kind of skeptical until Minho explains that for some time now, he’s seen you as his girlfriend. Who else would he sacrifice his dance lessons for? Feeding the cats together was basically a date, right? Do you not feel the same about him?! Wait, what?!!?
He’s all shy now and unsure and panicking internally, until you squeeze his hand under the desk and whisper to him that you like him too
You meet more often from there on, and he’s the kind of loving and attentive boyfriend that doesn’t say much, but will do anything for you.
He takes an extra water bottle to school everyday, just in case if you forgot, and brings you delicious lunches that he made himself
Going to cat cafés and long drives around town are musts for you both
And when his friends tease him about you, he fiercely swats them away before retreating to you for cuddles like one of his beloved kittens
He’s soft only for you
So sweet ^ω^
2. Hyunjin
Everyone has a little bit of a crush on Hyunjin. The girls who fawn over his good looks, the creative writing kids who pine over poems they spin about him, and even the sweet old lady at the front desk.
And you’re not immune.
You’ve basically had a huge crush on him since your first day of high school
You’ve done a couple of assignments together and how sweet and charming he is never fails to get you screaming into your pillow when you get home
He once bought you an iced americano at the coffee shop when you were partnered together on a project for school, and even though you didn’t like it, you drank the whole thing.
The smile on his face was worth it
Now that you’re in senior year, you can’t help but wish he’d ask you to prom
But that would never happen, because someone as wanted as Hyunjin would never like you
Except he does. Ever since he first saw you in biology class, he’s been floored.
You don’t think he even remembers you outside of class, but the man is so down bad that he watches you doing anything and everything.
Not in a creepy way ^▿^
You’ll be sitting outside in the grass with your friends during lunch, and Hyunjin will also be observing you, sitting against a tree and sketching you in his little notebook like the lover boy he is
You laughing. You sipping on your mango juice. You tucking back your hair.
Bro is just in love.
You randomly find a small sketch of yourself in your bag. It’s beautiful, but you’ve no idea who drew it, even after asking around
More of these drawings show up, everywhere. In your notebook. On your desk. In your glasses case. You wonder who this mystery artist is, and why they chose you to be their muse.
One rainy afternoon, you are trying to find your missing bracelet and find Hyunjin painting in the empty art room
His clumsy self almost falls out of his chair when you walk in on him
He tries to hide his painting canvas from you until you get suspicious and look over his shoulder.
It’s a simple portrait of you just smiling
You nearly cry at how beautiful and raw it is, but are also ecstatic because Hyunjin is your secret admirer/artist?!
He confesses his feelings at that point, seeing no point in hiding them any longer, and also unveils the bottom half of the portrait that you hadn’t noticed
PROM? is written in big, bold letters because we all know Hyunjin is extra
He then pulls out a rose, which is a little crumpled from being in his pocket. He pouts about it until you kiss him on the cheek and thank him, accepting his promposal
Hyunjin, the beautiful, unattainable one, is actually the sensitive romantic, and he turns red when you kiss him
You guys are the hottest couple at senior prom, tearing up the dance floor before Hyunjin whisks you away in his car, driving you to a secluded gazebo where he has candles and snacks and everything set up, and you guys just lie there, exchanging hushed “I love you’s” for the first time and gazing out at the stars
3. Changbin
Changbin has been your older brother’s very best friend ever since they both met in their first year of high school
At the gym.
Both your brother and Changbin were kind of unpopular, so both of them were bullied often. And being on the skinnier side, it also made it easier for them to get beat up
So your brother decided to get toned to protect himself, and he ended up registering at your local gym. And guess who he runs into there?
Changbin!
They both become gym buddies, and eventually, bond outside of their work-outs
And bonding includes meeting his baby sister, you.
Changbin had brought a box of biscuits for your mom and a bag of candy for you.
He was one whole year older than you, but your eighth grade self was WHIPPED.
From then on, you follow Changbin around everywhere.
And you know what? He never gets annoyed.
He always talks to you without getting embarrassed and even includes you in his conversations with friends, even when your brother clearly tries to kick you out.
But he always sees you as his best friend’s younger sister, like his own sister. You watch him go through many relationships, but your crush on him never wavers.
And in due time, he becomes real buff. Which doesn’t help. At all.
So you keep your feelings for him as a secret, even though all you really want to do is confess to him and have him all to yourself, because you know he’d probably have to gently reject you.
By the time your junior year rolls around, you know you’re going to be watching Changbin and your big brother graduate together. You don’t have much time left before he leaves town to go to college, and you don’t know how often you’ll see him.
You overhear a lot of the senior girls gossiping about who Changbin might ask out to prom, and everyone whispers about some girl named Soyeon.
You know who they’re talking about; Soyeon is one of Changbin’s good friends, and she, your brother, and Changbin have hung out together multiple times.
You’re instantly filled with so. much. jealousy.
Because of course he’d choose a hot, cool girl that’s actually his age, over you.
And you’ve even noticed how Changbin has been spending less and less time with you, always dashing off in the middle of conversations or hurrying away to do “homework.”
But you’d rather leave than be left.
From then on, you try to avoid Changbin as much as possible, because liking him was hurting you, more than you’d like to admit, because he didn’t even know. He was your first love.
A few days of ignoring Changbin’s texts and pretending not to see him in the halls, well, of course Changbin will notice.
He knocks on your front door and you open it. Immediately, you assume he’s here for your brother, and you look away.
“My brother’s at soccer practice right now. He can’t hang out.”
“No, actually, I wanted to talk to you.”
You’re surprised, and a little nervous, but still, you let him in, leading him to the kitchen.
Wordlessly, Changbin heads over to the freezer, pulling out a pint of ice cream, and then a bowl from the dishwasher. He hands a bowl full of rocky road to you, and your heart immediately melts.
He knows you so well; when you’re feeling down, you love ice cream. And he knows your family too, where everything in the kitchen is :(((
“Are you going to tell me why you’re avoiding me?”
You try to deny it, but one look from him and you’re a goner. You can’t ever lie to him.
“I heard you’re taking Soyeon to prom.”
Changbin looks confused.
“We’re just friends though???”
“But I heard—”
Changbin rolls his eyes.
“You believe gossip too much. I was going to ask you.”
Now you’re really unconvinced.
“Sure. As your little sister.”
Uhhhh, nope.
Changbin groans, and for the first time, he lowkey looks kind of shy.
“I was going to surprise you, and I kept getting nervous, so that’s why I kept rushing off when we were hanging out.”
You feel the happy bubbles rising in your chest, but you’re still kind of unconvinced, until Changbin pulls out his phone and shows you his background.
It’s a selfie of you and him.
So you both ended up going to prom together, and yes, your brother was watching you both very, very carefully. After, you guys did make it official and started dating over the summer.
When changbin left for college, you guys still stayed together. He’d come back home to visit you a lot, and you guys facetimed multiple times a week.
Changbin would even help you on your college applications and edit your essays
And he’d also come back for your senior prom, and you guys would go together again.
He’s so cute help meee (✿◠‿◠)
4. Han
You’ve been friends with Jisung ever since you were in diapers.
Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration. You became friends in middle school, but Jisung insists that it feels like you were meant to be best friends with him since you both were born.
You met on a cloudy Monday morning during the first week of middle school, when Jisung plopped down in the chair next to you and introduced himself to you.
Even with your efforts to ward off his friendship, forever wary of strangers, he soon became a part of your daily life, and you actually began to look forward to his antics in class everyday. He made everything so much more interesting and fun, and you love him for it.
Fast forward a few years later, you’re both in your junior year in high school. Both of you are still best friends.
And there’s also Minho, this hot senior you can't talk about because you claim he’s as mysterious as the moon.
Yeahhh, Jisung isn’t buying that crap. To him, Minho is a blank notebook. Boring. He just doesn’t get what you see in that guy!
He whines whenever you bring up Minho, and once, he was so excited that you invited him to Chipotle, but then he realizes it was only because you wanted to inconspicuously spy on Minho, who was also there for lunch.
Jisung ended up grumbling over his rice bowl and then storming out of the restaurant when you *accidentally* went to the soda fountain at the same time as Minho
Later that night, you confront him about why he ditched you at the Chipotle. Jisung gets annoyed and says he doesn’t like how you were using him to be your spy-buddy
And now you’re annoyed, because is that all he got from that?!!!!
Muttering to yourself, you walk home and ignore Jisung’s call to your retreating back
FOR GOD’S SAKE, YOU’RE TRYING TO MAKE YOUR BEST FRIEND JEALOUS.
Your crackhead best friend is the one you like, because puh-lease, Minho is too emo for you.
Jisung keeps texting you all night, but you ignore him, because you’re angry. How dense could your best friend be? Your “mysterious moon” reason for liking Minho was bullshit?! Can’t he take a hint?! Like-
Jisung interrupts your deliberating by throwing a small pebble onto your window
Although you’re still irritated, you guide Jisung up the small tree next to your window (in the process, he nearly falls off to his doom)
Once he’s inside your room, Jisung sits on the bed and you stand in front of him, arms folded like you’re his annoyed parent
“What do you want, Ji? It’s midnight”
He thrusts out a bag of twizzlers towards you, and you just can’t resist. Candy is your weakness, and it’s what he always bribes you with when you get mad at him
“Iwasntmadbecauseyoumademecometochipotletospyonminho”
“Sorry?”
But Jisung keeps going without slowing down, like the menace he is.
“Iwasmadbecauseilikeyouandimjealousofminho.”
“Yo, what??!”
“I LIKE YOU, JEEZ!”
You rush forward and clamp your hand over Jisung’s mouth, shutting him up before your parents come and kill you.
“Yeah, I got that, genius! I was just surprised!”
Both of you just stare at each other for a good minute, and then burst into loud laughter
Yeah, this ain’t friends to lovers. More like idiots to lovers.
And yes, your mom also comes in, fuming, and kicks Jisung out. You’re grounded.
But the next day, at school, you and Jisung make things official. You also take the chance to blackmail Jisung that if he ever refuses to buy you candy again whenever you ask, then it’s over.
Jisung laments that he made a mistake in asking you out, but one look from you and he shuts up.
Other than that, you guys become that disgustingly sweet and hilarious couple that’s always in sync.
You both have the dumbest inside jokes and cover each other’s eyes during horror movies
U_U
5. Felix
The boy next-door…
He moved in to the house next to yours a few years ago, with his whole family, and with your curiosity, you watched him and his sisters laugh together from behind your curtains
Later that night, Felix knocked on your door and offered you and your parents homemade brownies. Your mother immediately falls in love with the chocolate treats and invites this charming boy’s family over for dinner that night
You become best friends with Rachel and Olivia, Felix’s sisters, but you couldn’t help but have a crush on Felix
Some time later ,when you went over to hang out with the girls, they both had to leave in the middle for piano lessons, but before you could go home, Felix offered to teach you how to bake
That’s how you end up giggling in the kitchen together and teasing each other with flour fights
When Rachel and Olivia are busy, you play video games with Felix in his room— at least, he plays and tries to teach you, while you miserably fail each time
But it’s just so fun to see his eyes light up whenever he wins a match or something
Gamer bf vibes for real
In school, you notice him in the hallways and he always has a bunch of girls swooning over him, but he always smiles at you and gives you a sweet hug whenever he sees you
Summers are filled with trips to the pool with the Lee siblings and biking around town, getting ice cream and enjoying the air conditioning in the public library.
You and Felix literally grow up together :(
Your bedroom window is directly across from Felix’s, and sometimes, you both wave to each other through glimpses
Once, since your homes aren’t spaced that far apart, Felix threw a delicate paper plane through your window and into your room.
You were studying for your math test tomorrow, and so it has a cute note written inside wishing you good luck. Also there’s a candy taped to the paper because of his sweet tooth <33
The paper airplane notes become a tradition, and one night, Felix throws an airplane asking you to meet him at the little pond in your neighborhood
It’s literally almost midnight so you’re like ???
But you sneak out anyway, and meet him at the pond
It’s late autumn so you’re freezing in your pajamas, cursing yourself for not bringing a jacket. And the woods surrounding? Creepy as hell, especially in the dark
When you feel someone grab your arm, you scream but then they cover your mouth with their warm, tiny hand and you realize it’s Felix LMAO
He’s brought a container of warm brownies for you, hot cocoa, and a little blanket
You’re speechless. Because what is happening?!
He immediately notices you’re shivering and wraps you in his own jacket and the blanket, before sitting you down next to him, drawing you close in his arms
And snuggled together in front of the moonlit pond, he confesses that he’s liked you since the moment he set his eyes on you
Just kill me now.
Anyway, his sisters are a little mad that they have to share you with him when you guys reveal that you’re a couple, but for the most part, both of your families love you both together
And you guys even become that couple that’s always clinging to each other and being all lovey-dovey in the hallways
But PDA is never cringe with Felix :P
EVER.
6. Seungmin
He’s definitely the smartest kid in class, the one who everyone goes to get homework help from
You completely envy him, because before he started attending your school, you used to be first in everything
Now?
He’s always first, and you follow closely behind as second. Every. Single. Time.
It infuriates you to the core when your teacher hands back test papers, and before he even checks his score, which is obviously better than yours, he shoots you a little smirk
You dislike him so much that you even tell him that, and you both bicker back and forth. Every time, however, he ends up reminding you that you’re just jealous and need to work harder to catch up with him, which is very true and angers you even more
But when you complain about him to your friends, they tease you and say you like him
Which you absolutely do NOT
Even though you’ve always noticed how his eyes seem to shimmer when he reads a book, or how his smile is brighter than the sun
Ever since your friends have made it their mission to torment you about Seungmin, you can’t help but gaze at him a little longer
He’s always on his own, either studying diligently or finishing homework for another class during study hall, when everyone else just goofed off
At lunch, he sits under a tree and eats calmly while engrossed with a book in his hand, slowly sipping his juice occasionally
One day, you see a couple of the older kids picking on him outside, and you overhear that it’s because he scored better than them in advanced exams
When one of them grabs Seungmin’s shirt and tries to drag him, you instantly see red and charge for the idiot, punching him to the side and grasping Seungmin’s hand
You’re Seungmin’s knight in shining armor!!
But then the other older kids start to close in on you both
Uh-oh.
You and Seungmin make a run for it, escaping narrowly by catching a departing bus. You don’t even know where you both are going, but you breathlessly laugh together about the ordeal
Later, Seungmin’s mom finds you both and drives you home. While you and Seungmin sit quietly in the back, his mom cheerily thanks you for being his friend, since Seungmin doesn’t have any. Also, she notes that it’s wonderful to finally meet you, because Seungmin can’t stop talking about how smart and cool you are at home
Seungmin is mortified because his mom has exposed him and refuses to look at you, but for the first time, you feel like you don’t hate him
Not even close
When you reach home, Seungmin’s mom makes him get out of the car and walk you to your door. Before your anxiety gets the best of you, you lean forward and kiss him on the cheek, shyly running inside before he can say anything.
Little do you know that he can’t even think of words right now. He just stands there, frozen, not hearing his mom’s honking above the beat of his heart
Soon, when he musters up the courage to ask you out, you both become official
And you both become study buddies as well, so you finally end up beating Seungmin after learning his tips and tricks.
P.S. years later, Seungmin jokes that if he never dated you, he still would’ve been first in class. But who knows? Because you guys are made for each other.
7. Jeongin
This story is less about you and more about Jeongin. He’s the main character, not you.
Duh.
As one of the most popular people in school, Jeongin is used to getting everything he wants. Teachers and students alike adore him for his charisma, looks, and sweet personality
Even though he’s a junior, all the seniors know who he is and would die to hang out with him
One day, surrounded by his big group of friends, as usual, Jeongin is walking down the neighborhood streets to that diner he loves to eat at
And then he notices the most beautiful girl walking into the restaurant right next to his favorite diner, the very establishment that he swore to never eat at and betray his beloved diner
But he’s immediately awestruck and curious to know who you are, and so he walks in right after you, ignoring his friends confused questions as to why he’s literally going into to the rival restaurant of his usual place
As soon as he is inside, he looks for the table you’re sitting at,
He grabs the table right next to yours and rattles off his order to the waitress, still in a daze with his eyes fixated on you
He recognizes your two friends who you are sitting with. They’re both senior girls, which means you must be one too
Oh? ;)
The hot older student? Sign Jeongin up.
He boldly goes up to your booth and asks you out, straight-up, flashing you a cute smile and a daring wink
You and your friends just glance at each other, amused, before you politely let him down
Because you don’t even know him?? Tf??
But your rejection makes him even more infatuated with you, because although he’s an attention-whore, the one thing he loves more is a good challenge
He swaggers back to his table, but not before shooting you a grin that screams “this ain’t over”
And it isn’t over.
Because he spends time learning about what you like through the grapevine, and as one of the school’s most popular kids, he has good access to it.
You love pink carnations, banana ice cream, and surprises.
And through that wonderful grapevine, he also finds out about what kind of person you are. Funny, kind, and incredibly smart, as one of the toppers in your grade.
So cute.
At school some time later, after you have almost forgotten about him, he slides in next to you at your lunch table, opening his bag and eating as if everything is normal
You just watch him like??
But you go along with it because you don’t want to be rude. All of your friends love Jeongin (obviously) because he’s so funny and charming
But you just eat your food silently, wondering what this kid is up to
As soon as the school bell rings, you walk out of your classroom and towards your locker, but surprise, surprise, Jeongin is already waiting there. With a bigass bouquet of baby pink carnations.
“Can I be your boyfriend?”
Jeongin beams at you confidently, but you can see a hint of nervousness behind it.
And you find the whole cheesy getup very endearing. Still… he’s trouble.
You hide back your smile, shaking your head.
“I don’t date junior boys.” You walk off, leaving Jeongin hanging once again.
Damn. What a woman.
It’s time for Jeongin to pull out the big guns, because no one has ever made him work for it like you.
A few nights later, just as you’re about to sit down with your family for dinner, you hear a knock at the door. Your dad offers to get it, so you pay no mind.
But a minute later, your dad walks in with none other than Jeongin, a box of ice cream in his hands
“Your nice friend came over to drop off some dessert. So I invited him to stay for dinner.”
Stunned, you just watch Jeongin drag a chair next to your seat and dig into his food enthusiastically.
As the rest of the evening progresses, your family literally falls in love with Jeongin; he laughs at your father’s horrible dad jokes, listens to all of your mom’s embarrassing childhood stories about you, and engrosses himself in discussion about Fortnite with your little brother
After dessert, you announce that you’ll walk Jeongin out, grabbing him by his arm and pulling him outside onto your porch before he can protest
Once the front door is shut, you glare at Jeongin
“What are you doing here?”
“Dropping off dessert!”
“But why?”
“Because I like you, okay?!”
Jeongin squares his shoulders, looking you in the eye. “Go out with me. You won’t regret dating a junior, I promise.”
What a cliché.
You roll your eyes, because you’re tired and your feet are cold. Also, you’re not amazing at expressing your emotions. Your heart feels like a damn water slide and you really need a sec.
“Jeongin, go home.”
“You like me too, right? I know how you look at me.”
It’s pretty obvious, you know it too. Ever since his whole stunt with the flowers, you’ve been watching him from afar, your own crush growing on him. But you can’t be with a junior, can you?
“Doesn’t matter. I have homework to do, let’s talk tomorrow.”
“You also like surprises, yes?”
Jeongin steps closer to you, nearly cornering you against the porch pillar. You shove him away.
“Dude, are you trying to kiss me?!”
Jeongin stumbles back. “No!”
He whips out a small velvet box behind his back and opens it, revealing a gorgeous bracelet. “It’s not as pretty as you, but I thought it would look good on you.”
He gently takes your wrist and slips it on, earnestly gazing down at you. “But I would really like to kiss you, if you don’t have too much homework.”
“Screw chemistry.”
You loop your arms around Jeongin’s neck and pull him down, kissing him.
“Guess I’m the one who surprised you in the end.”
8. Bang Chan
He would 100% be one of those nice popular kids.
He’d have like a million friends and a bunch of wannabes would follow him around too, but he’s so sweet to everyone
Chan is a jock, because he’s athletic and the captain of the soccer team, but he’s also one of those really smart kids too. He gets amazing grades and even plays the guitar, because he’s a sensitive music guy omgggg
Anyway
You have to agree he’s cute, but you’ve always been a little wary of the popular kids. A lot of the people he’s friends with are rude af, but he chills with everyone because no one could ever say anything to him, that’s how well-liked he is.
You have history class together, and you get paired up together.
He’s super friendly, obviously, and asks if you can meet up with him at the library after school. What else can you say but yes?
So you get to the library, but Chan is nowhere to be seen.
Fifteen minutes late, he shows up, and you’re really annoyed at this point, but….
He brought you both boba!
Suspiciously, you accept it (it’s delicious) and you’re surprised to find out that Chan actually really knows his stuff
You both finish a good chunk of your work, and a lot of your progress is thanks to Chan’s immaculate planning and organization
You’ve never seen a guy have a binder with color-coded separators and aesthetic notes and stuff, but Chan keeps surprising you
You both meet up two more times to finish the project, and each time, Chan brings you a different flavor of boba.
And eventually, you warm up to him, and it’s hard not to fall for his endearing, caring personality. He even offered you his hoodie when you got cold because of the library air conditioning!
When you finish your project, you’re sad that it means that you have to stop hanging with Chan, but he actually keeps saying hi to you at school and striking up conversation, even though you get a little shy.
He moved seats to sit next to you in class too, and comes to the library more often to just sit at your table and do homework in silence with you
One day, you overhear a few of Chan’s friends complaining about him spending more time with some unpopular girl. They start picking on the girl, when you realize the girl they’re making fun is you.
Immediately, you run off to the bathroom to cry in the stalls’ privacy, because you should have known that being friends with someone like Chan was a bad idea
Although he might not have been a bad person, some of his friends certainly were. That made him a bad guy by association.
A few minutes later, as you’re wiping your tears and stepping out of the bathroom when you crash into Chan, who’s waiting right outside
You try to step around him and leave, but he just hugs you from the back and apologizes by whispering into your ear
His voice is so soothing :((
“I’ll make them apologize, and I’m not going to hang out with them anymore, and anyone else who says anything to you.”
And honestly, you’re kind of shocked that he is willing to give up his friends for you
But like he can read your mind, Chan answers for you:
“They don’t matter to me as much as you do.”
He indirectly confesses that he likes you, but you guys actually don’t go into a relationship right away.
You spend a lot more time getting to know each other, personally and on a deeper level.
You learn about his passion for music, and he learns about your own interests. You share your hopes and dreams and fears, until you finally realize how much you both truly mean to each other
After all, Chan is the type of person who would take his time before committing himself to someone
And although when you finally get together, it seems like Chan is always protecting you, it’s actually the other way around:
You teach Chan that it’s okay to be vulnerable, and that you’ll always love him no matter what.
More than anything, you’re proud of Chan and the person he is. Always.

Love In Print│Bang Chan
Chapter Sixteen: Your Wise, Meddling Sidekick SS: 8 (ignore time stamps and dates) Word Count: 2.7K Content Warnings: Talks of sex in detail (mxm)(Minsung), Minho being a menace and unhinged with no filter
Previous Next Masterlist
The sunlight slicing through Ayame's curtains feels like a personal attack, stabbing her directly in the skull. She groans, rolling over with a grimace, only to stop dead in her tracks.
Chris. Again.
He's splayed out next to her, snoring softly, his hair a wild mess and his mouth slightly open. One arm is flung over his face, the other lying limply across the sheets. Ayame stares at him in mute horror, her heart thudding in her chest.
"Shit," she whispers to herself, sitting up and pulling the blanket with her, as if it can somehow shield her from the reality of the situation.
She snatches her phone off the nightstand and quickly dials Minho. The line clicks after barely a ring as she shuffles into her living room, snagging a clean pair of panties and pyjamas to pull on.
"Morning, pabo," Minho greets, his tone disgustingly chipper for the hour.
"Minho," Ayame hisses, her voice a frantic whisper. "Get over here. Right now."
There's a pause, then the unmistakable sound of Minho smirking through the phone. "What's the crisis this time?"
"I woke up with Chris again," she groans, clutching her head.
There's a beat of silence before Minho absolutely loses it. "Oh my fucking god, you're kidding me."
"Minho, I'm serious!" Ayame snaps, her voice rising slightly. She winces, glancing over at Chris, but he's still blissfully unconscious. "Just get over here."
Still laughing, Minho wheezes, "On my way. Should I bring a crucifix? Maybe a spray bottle for horny demons?"
"Just hurry up!" Ayame huffs, ending the call. She buries her face in her hands, muttering to herself. "This is such a fucking mess. I am such a fucking mess"
Ten minutes later, the apartment door swings open with an unnecessary amount of force, and Minho strides in like he owns the place, holding a battered tennis racket in one hand. His grin is so wide it practically splits his face.
"Alright," he announces, his tone gleeful, "where is he? The Chan clone who's causing all this chaos?"
Ayame glares at him, still clutching her blanket. "In the bedroom, don't make a scene."
Minho ignores her walking into Ayame's bedroom, his eyes landing on Chris, who's now sitting up in bed, blinking groggily. Chris rubs a hand over his face, clearly trying to piece together where he is and why Minho is in the room wielding a tennis racket.
"Oh, hey," Chris says, his voice scratchy as he starts fumbling for his pants. "Uh, morning?"
Minho steps closer, tapping the racket against his palm with a smirk. "Good morning, coping mechanism man. Time to vacate my baby maknae's bed."
Chris freezes mid-pant-grab, looking between Minho and Ayame who is still sitting on the couch. "This is, uh... your brother? He was here last time too"
Ayame groans into her blanket. "He's not my brother. He's my meddling friend who kicks out my one-night stands for me"
Chris stands, holding his pants in one hand as he eyes Minho warily. "Right. Well, I'll just-"
"Hold up," Minho interrupts, holding up a hand. "Before you go, turn around."
Chris blinks, utterly baffled. "What?"
"Turn around," Minho repeats, gesturing with the racket. "Let's see the goods."
Ayame groans louder, sinking deeper into the couch. "Minho, I swear to god-"
But Chris, looking equal parts confused and amused, obliges, turning to give Minho a full view of his backside.
Minho hums appreciatively, nodding like a connoisseur admiring fine art. "Alright, solid. I'll give you points for the ass. But you're still not good enough for my maknae."
"Thanks?" Chris replies, pulling on his pants with slightly more urgency. He grabs the rest of his clothes, flashes Ayame a sheepish smile, and heads for the door. "Uh, see you around?"
Ayame waves weakly. "Sure. Whatever."
As soon as the door shuts behind Chris, Minho turns to Ayame, tossing the racket onto the coffee table. "Okay, what the fuck was that?"
"I don't know!" Ayame wails, throwing the blanket over her head. "I don't even know how this keeps happening."
Minho sits down next to her, crossing his arms. "Maknae, I say this with love, you're spiralling."
"No shit," Ayame mutters, peeking out from under the blanket to glare at him.
Minho sighs, leaning back against the couch. "Look, I get it. He looks like Chan, so you're using him as some kind of low-stakes stand-in. But maybe, just maybe, you should figure out what the hell you actually want."
"I know what I want," Ayame snaps, sitting up straight. "I want everyone to stop acting like I'm some tragic character in a fucked-up romcom."
Minho grins, ruffling her hair. "Oh, sweetie. You are the tragic character in a fucked-up romcom. But don't worry. I'm here to be your wise, meddling sidekick."
"Wise?" Ayame deadpans. "You just evaluated a grown man's ass."
"And it was a damn fine ass," Minho replies with zero shame as he gets up and heads toward the kitchen. "Now shut up. I'm making coffee. You need caffeine to deal with the mess that is your life."
Ayame flops back onto the couch with a groan. "I hate you."
"No, you don't," Minho calls from the kitchen. "You love me because I'm the only one who tells you the truth."
Ayame doesn't respond, staring at the ceiling and wondering how her life got this chaotic.
Minho sits cross-legged on Ayame's couch, cradling a steaming mug of coffee in his hand like it's a sacred artefact. His eyes bore into her as she slumps dramatically against the armrest, her blanket draped over her like a shroud. The other hand holds the edge of the blanket like a desperate child clutching their security.
"Alright," Minho begins, his voice sharp and ready to dissect her soul, "spill. What happened last night? And don't you dare sugarcoat it, Ayame. I want the raw, unfiltered, tragic-ass truth."
Ayame groans, burying her face in the blanket. "It started with my date with Seonghwa..."
Minho's interest sharpens immediately. He sits up straighter, practically vibrating. "Mhm, and?"
She exhales heavily, her words coming out in a frustrated tumble. "Dinner was a fucking trainwreck. He wouldn't shut up about his startup. The kiss was, ugh, I don't even want to call it a kiss. It was like making out with my refrigerator door."
Minho grimaces, his coffee momentarily forgotten. "Gross. And then?"
Ayame winces, her voice dropping. "And then I went to Chan's place."
Minho's mug pauses midair. He stares at her like she just announced she was running for president. "You fucking what?!"
"I don't know!" Ayame throws her hands in the air, the blanket sliding off her shoulders like a cape of defeat. "I just- I ended up there! And then we made out."
Minho gasps so loudly it's almost a scream, clutching his chest like he's been stabbed. "Ayame, my sweet baby maknae, what the actual fuck is wrong with you?!"
"It gets worse," she says, hiding her face in her hands. Her voice is muffled but no less tragic. "I told him we should just have sex. You know, to get it out of our system."
Minho's eyes widen comically, and he sets his coffee down with a deliberate clink, clearly needing both hands to process this. "And? What did he say? Did you do it? Did you finally climb Mount BDE?"
Ayame groans louder, dragging her hands down her face. "He refused."
Minho's jaw drops so hard she's worried it might dislocate. "He refused?!"
"Yeah," Ayame mutters, throwing herself back against the couch like a dramatic heroine in a tragedy. "Said I was playing games, kicked me out."
Minho springs to his feet as if powered by sheer disbelief, his voice rising. "Oh my god! I can't- This is- What the fuck is this timeline? You're hopeless, Ayame. Completely fucking hopeless."
"Thanks for the support, Oppa," Ayame deadpans, glaring at him.
"No, no, no," Minho says, pacing the room like a mad scientist unraveling the mysteries of the universe. "This is beyond support. This requires action. Baptism, round two. I'm saving your stupid ass whether you like it or not."
Ayame narrows her eyes, sitting up slightly. "If you even think about bringing sage into this-"
Minho cuts her off with a dramatic flourish, striding into the kitchen and returning with a massive mixing bowl full of ice water. He sets it on the coffee table with a loud thunk. "No sage this time. Dunk your face in this. Purify your sins."
Ayame stares at the bowl like it's about to explode. "There is no way I'm doing that."
"You're doing it," Minho declares, grabbing her by the shoulders. "This is an intervention."
"Minho, I swear to-"
Before she can finish, he shoves her face into the freezing water. She jerks upright immediately, gasping and flailing as water drips down her face and onto her blanket. "Fucking hell!"
"No!" Minho bellows, pointing a finger at her like a judge condemning her to exile. "I was hoping you'd fuck him because I assumed you would! So I fucked Jisung last night! I have Miroh dick now because I thought you'd handle Chan first. I'm the traitor! You've broken me, Ayame!"
Ayame freezes mid-sputter, blinking water out of her eyes. "Wait. You fucked Jisung? Was it good?"
Minho stops pacing, and a dreamy look washes over his face like he's remembering the climax of a romantic movie. "Oh, yeah. His cheeks full of my cock? Better than any dream I've ever had. Then I railed him like I fucking hated him. It was cathartic."
Ayame blinks, processing, before slowly extending a hand for a high five. "Nicely done, Oppa."
Minho grins, slapping her hand without hesitation. "Also, I was the top."
"Proud of you," Ayame says, grinning despite herself.
Minho flops back onto the couch, grabbing his coffee like nothing happened. "And let me tell you, the man had fancy yuzu-flavored lube. Rimming him tasted like a goddamn cocktail. Swear to fucking god."
Ayame laughs so hard she nearly chokes, clutching her stomach. "You're lying!"
"I'm serious," Minho says, taking a sip of coffee like he's discussing the weather. "I'm doing it again, too. Fuck it. I already betrayed our team. Might as well double down."
Ayame wipes tears of laughter from her eyes, shaking her head. "You're absolutely insane."
Minho smirks. "Says the girl who's hopelessly in love with Bang Christopher Chan."
Ayame groans, burying her face in the couch cushion. "God help me."
"Nope," Minho says. "Just me, your Oppa. And I'm fresh out of miracles."
Minho leans back on the couch, dramatically throwing an arm around Ayame's shoulders as if she's his captive audience at a comedy show.
"Alright, pabo, you told me about your lusty horror night. Now it's my turn. Buckle in because I am about to tell you everything"
Ayame grins, sipping her tea. "Please, Oppa. Enlighten me."
Minho places his mug down with exaggerated care, his expression growing animated. "Okay, so. Picture this. My penthouse, pristine as fuck, and me, the gracious host, preparing the most beautiful Beef Wellington you've ever seen. Like, Gordon Ramsay would've sobbed tears of joy. The layers were perfect."
"Of course," Ayame says, nodding solemnly. "Only the best from Lee Minho, intimidate him with your culinary prowess"
"Exactly," Minho agrees, pointing at her. "Because when you're dealing with Miroh trash, you need to maintain dominance. Home turf, superior food, the works. You establish control early."
"Obviously," Ayame replies, barely holding back a laugh.
"So, Jisung shows up," Minho continues, his hands gesturing wildly, "and he's like this adorable little quokka, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, all smiles, but clearly nervous. And I'm like, relax, babe, you're in Hyung's hands now. We eat. It's divine. I wow him with my culinary genius."
"Did you save me some?" Ayame interjects, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course I did," Minho says with a dismissive wave. "Anyway, dinner's over. We're on the couch watching some boring ass movie he picked. And here's where it gets good, I notice he's hard. Like, visibly hard. He's fidgeting, adjusting himself, thinking he's subtle."
"Oh my god," Ayame giggles. "What did you do?"
"I call him out, obviously," Minho says, his grin wicked. "And then he just- Get this, he fucking drops to his knees. Doesn't say a word. Just goes to town on my dick, right there on my overpriced couch."
Ayame chokes on her tea, laughing so hard she nearly spills it. "You better have protected that couch, it's expensive as shit"
"I'm not a heathen," Minho scoffs. "And Ayame, his head game? Flawless. I've had some good blowjobs in my time, but this? Tongue, suction, eye contact, it was like he went to a fucking academy for it. The man's a prodigy."
"Good for him," Ayame says, patting Minho's arm. "And for you."
"Right?" Minho agrees, his eyes sparkling with unholy delight. "Then he tells me he prepped himself before coming over. I almost busted right there. I was like, 'You planned this, you slutty little genius.'"
Ayame doubles over in laughter. "What a fucking champ. I respect it."
Minho nods sagely. "So then, he pulls out this fancy-ass yuzu-flavored lube. YUZU, Ayame. I'm intrigued, right? Naturally, I start rimming him, because, duh."
"Obviously," Ayame deadpans, her lips twitching into a grin.
"And let me tell you." Minho places a hand over his chest like he's delivering a sermon. "It was like eating dessert. I swear, Ayame, if I died right then and there, I would've been happy. I was licking his asshole like it was my last meal."
Ayame falls back into the couch, laughing so hard tears stream down her face. "Oppa, you're fucking insane."
"Then," Minho continues, undeterred, "I fuck him, and let me tell you, the man is a goddamn gymnast. Cirque du Soleil on my dick. Acrobatics, Ayame. Acrobatics."
"Stop," Ayame wheezes, clutching her stomach. "I can't breathe."
Minho smirks, crossing his arms. "By the end of it, I was fully ready to quit my job and become his live-in sugar daddy."
"Well," Ayame says, still catching her breath, "I'm glad you had a good time. Sounds unforgettable."
"You're invested now," Minho says, his grin so smug it could fuel a small city. "So, like I said, second round with Jisung. I've got plans."
Ayame groans, already regretting her curiosity. "Why do I feel like I'm about to regret hearing this?"
"Because you have foresight, pabo," Minho replies with a wink. "Picture this: me, Jisung, handcuffs, a riding crop, and a vibrating cock ring."
Ayame spits her tea back into her mug, coughing violently. "What the fuck, Oppa?!"
Minho grins wider, patting her back like he's comforting a distressed child. "Oh, that's not even the wildest part."
"Oh god, there's more?" Ayame wheezes, setting her mug on the table for safety.
"Of course," Minho says, sitting up straighter. "There's a decent chance I'm going to piss on him. I mean, he's into it."
Ayame throws her hands in the air, nearly shouting. "Oppa, no! That's where I draw the line!"
"Excuse me?" Minho replies, feigning offence. "No kink-shaming in this friendship."
"Yes! Shame!" Ayame declares, jabbing a finger into his side. "I don't want to know about you pissing on another human being, let alone the logistics of it!"
"You're so mean, Maknae," Minho whines, clutching his chest like she's mortally wounded him. "Here I am, pouring my heart out about my spicy sex life, and all you give me is judgment."
Ayame shakes her head, flopping back onto the couch with a groan. "I was with you up until the piss. Then you lost me, Oppa."
Minho smirks, poking her arm. "Lost you? Or intrigued you?"
"LOST ME!"
"Fine, fine," Minho says, rolling his eyes dramatically. "You're such a prude. Meanwhile, I'm out here broadening horizons and bringing balance to the megaverse."
Ayame glares at him, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh yes, Oppa. Truly a hero. The people will sing songs of your golden showers."
Minho bursts out laughing, slapping his knee. "Now you're catching on!"
Ayame throws a pillow at him, shaking her head. "I take it back. I'm not invested anymore. I want a refund on this entire conversation."
"No refunds," Minho replies, dodging the pillow effortlessly. "You're stuck with me. And if you don't stop judging, I'm going to make you listen to all the details of the riding crop session."
"Oppa, I swear to god-" Ayame starts, but Minho cuts her off with a triumphant grin.
"Jisung calls me Sir," he says with a smug tilt of his head.
"WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!"
"Because the universe made me perfect," Minho says, throwing an arm around her again. "And because someone has to teach you how to live a little."
"You're insane," Ayame mutters, shaking her head as she pulls the blanket back over her head like it might shield her from his nonsense.
"And you're repressed," Minho shoots back, patting her head through the blanket. "Don't worry, Maknae. Oppa's here to guide you."
Ayame groans dramatically, her voice muffled. "I need a new guide."
"You'd miss me," Minho says smugly.
"Unfortunately," Ayame grumbles.

Fic Recs!
Hi! This is just a masterlist of all of my favorite works (some Tumblr wouldn't let me reblog :( so I'm putting them here too)! It's more or less a way for me to find my favs easier, but if you find this and wanna snoop through, you're more than welcome to!
Everything that is indented will be what the fic is about/a synopsis.
Ps. I categorize "full fics" as anything with more than 1 part or a series
Kpop
Full fics
Stray Kids
Sanguis Limerence - (Vampire!chan x reader x Vampire!minho)
"You have a job to do. That job is simple, in of itself. Yet the elusive vampire family you find yourself entangled with, the target of your job, makes things anything but straightforward. Can you traverse the thin lines between right and wrong when harsh truths are exposed and realities come to light? Can you resist the allure of danger, the appeal of the unknown? Experience this story of unlikely friendships, lurking threat, and entirely unexpected love."
SKZ Imprinted - (werewolf!skz x reader)
Individual stories that have OC’s in your place if you want to read the others’ stories! I highly recommend reading them all in order to get everyone’s full story! This writer also has a Seventeen Imprinted series that is also SO good! (Everything they write is amazing!)
Red Moon - (Werewolf!SKZ x reader) (Yes, all of them. But mainly Chan and Hyunjin)
"Hana’s life was planned out perfectly. She would marry the pack alpha, become Luna and do her duties. But the appearance of a mysterious stranger turns her life inside out she finds herself outcast and alone. Will she find her new home in Chan and his pack of strays? Will she find what she’s been looking for all along in the mysterious alpha? Or will everything crumble under her again?"
Bite Me - (vampire!felix x reader)
"you're more than familiar with the concept of 'beards' - you've been one for a few of your gay friends to protect them from the suspicious glares of their families within the horribly conservative korean society. however when lee felix - infamous at yonsei for breaking men's hearts - asks you, someone he has spoken to maybe twice, to pretend to date him so he can shake the rumours and prove he really isn't gay, you find yourself caught up in a very complex situation, a mild identity crisis and… wait - are those fangs???"
Light in the Dark - (Vampire!chan x reader)
"You knew the fairy tales were true, you knew Oddinaries existed but you also knew you were an ordinary human who wasn't considered interesting to anyone. At least that is what you thought you knew." (all of skz are different supernatural creatures) (a person who has AMAZING stuff!)
A Thump in the Night - (vampire!hyunjin x reader) (going to be more than one part?)
Uninvited - (Hybrid!chan x witch!reader) (ft. Vampire!felix, Vampire!hyunjin, and witch!jisung)
Unhinged - sequel to uninvited^
No Nut November with SKZ
This is a series of imagines (one per member) of the boys participating in nnn and it is pure glorious filth.
Hierarchy - (Mafia!Changbin x reader) (kinda mafia!felix x reader)
"You have always been utterly uninteresting, safely boring as close. You had a normal job, normal friends and the sweetest bestie on the planet but now everything is upside down and that best friend of yours is far more dangerous than you could have ever imagined." (All of their stuff is SO good so I tagged the whole masterlist but this is very specifically about Hierarchy)
Ateez
Blinding Lights - (mafia!Seonghwa x reader) (also kinda a hongjoong x reader)
"You are your father’s daughter. he taught you everything - how to lie, how to steal, how to kill. but after your younger sister’s marriage, it was only a matter of time before you were paired off with someone. your parents arrange a marriage with a powerful and dangerous up-and-comer who is determined to dethrone your father as king of the underworld. your match is a no-brainer - you and park seonghwa are not only perfect together, you are the best. The two of you are like new royalty - and you would stop at nothing to keep control."
Horizon - (pirate!hongjoong x reader)
"Once a princess of a kingdom you loathed to call yours, you have somehow found yourself aboard a pirate ship, stuck on the ocean waves. Now you try to figure out how to escape them, but as you continue to journey with them, you find yourself wondering if you even want to."
Treasure - (pirate!hongjoong x reader)
"The formidable pirate king Hongjoong and his crew aboard the ATEEZ are in search of something left by their mentor and forebear, Eden. Will they find Eden and his treasure or will they succumb to the many enemies and dangers of the seas, losing their way and each other?"
Pirate King - (pirate!ateez x reader)
"Life as an amnesiac on board a pirate ship ruled by the one and only Pirate King doesn’t seem very promising, but hey, anything’s better than becoming shark food." (honestly the best thing I have ever read)
Instructions Unclear - (android!San x reader)
"While walking home from work one day, you stumble upon an android from the world up-top, a world you were sure you would never be able to experience. once he opens his eyes, you become his master."
NCT
NCT as werewolves
A series of fic with beautiful moodboards/aesthetics to go with!
Vigilantes - (NCT x Superpowered!reader)
NCT werewolf au
"In a world where omega werewolves are a commodity and alphas can go feral/crazy with the need to ‘breed’ them when they’re in heats, things are rough for a pack of 23 alphas." (Each fic can stand alone, but they are in chronological order) (Johnny’s is a personal fav)
Humanity - (Kun x reader) (zombie apocalypse au)
"This is a story dedicated to people and their silly ventures and ways—hope, fear, familiarity, and adoration. Nothing short of catastrophic, but nothing short of human."
Stay Alive - (NCT Dream x platonic!reader)
"Nobody was ready for a zombie apocalypse. you were definitely not ready for a zombie apocalypse. while contemplating just giving up and accepting your fate, you meet a group of boys. life may seem pointless now, but at the very least, you now have a reason to stay alive."
Others (and multiples)
Post Mortem (Haechan x reader) (Zombie apocalypse au) (ft. skz and the dreamies)
Blood Red Skies - (Mafia! Bang Chan x reader) (mafia!skz, mafia!ateez, pirate!ateez)
"Spending most her time in the library and doing anything to keep herself distracted from her life is what Y/N has learned over the years but the situation changed in a matter of seconds and never did she even think of coming face to face with a mafia. She has to make the decision for her life which seems like it will be no different from what it already is." (All of their stuff is good but Blood Red Skies is at the bottom of their masterlist)
The Last of Us - (Kim Taehyung x reader) (zombie apocalypse au)
Dead by Dawn - (Kim Namjoon x reader) (zombie apocalypse au)

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks....
Hi! Sorry for the late reply, i started to write my answer and completely forgot about it. It's been in my drafts for months, i feel so bad omg! 😭 It was also really difficult to choose and i have only two female characters i am truly ashamed... But thank you very much for this ask, it was fun!
Here's my top 10! 😊
1. Mob/Kageyama Shigeo (Mob Psycho 100 - Anime)
I love him so much! I think he has the most wonderful character development in any anime i've watched! He has such a pure soul and compared to other shonen MCs, he just wants to be a normal teenager and be happy. So much growth and strength with this character, i love it! The series finale was incredible and I was so happy for my boy🥹
2. Megumi Fushiguro (Jujutsu Kaisen - Anime)
I think he's an interesting character with so much potential for the future. I love the way he always appears reserved and cold but he's actually a softie on the inside and how his own sense of justice contrasts with Yuji. He's just a pretty cool character and stronger than he appears to be and he cares so much about his friends. Haven't read the manga but currently watching season 2 so I'm excited about what's in store for him!
3. Dream of the Endless (The Sandman - TV)
New favorite character alert!! Not a surprise 'cause my favorites are always the cold and broody ones tbh I just love how Dream is so imperfect and still learning and his whole vibe, the long black coat and the emo hair like he's in a indie rock band is just chef's kiss! Incredible character on the show, so charismatic and mesmerizing.
4. Five (The Umbrella Academy - TV)
At this point, there's a pattern here. Maybe it's because i'm an INTJ myself, but Five seems like he's very INTJ to me. It's just the whole attitude and the way he calculates and plans everything, very rational and precise, sarcastic and (though pretty mean sometimes), exactly how i like my characters! All his scenes are top tier and his power is very cool (not explored enough on the show unfortunately.)
5. Minho (The Maze Runner - Book series)
The sarcastic character? Asian as main? Hell yes! Finally more Asian representation and not stereotyped! The book series would have not been as good without him! I was pretty gutted when he was barely there in the Death Cure movie, but Ki Hong Lee was so great as Minho, he perfectly captured his smug and smartass attitude that I fell in love with. He's also very courageous and loyal to his friends which I love too. Overall a very cool character!
6. Deadpool/ Wade Wilson (Deadpool - Comics/Movies)
Deadpool is just Deadpool... Bro he's just vibing killing people or whatever. He's completely unhinged, crazy, over the top and just a fun ride. Pansexual king! What else can I say, he's just one of my favorite comic book characters ❤️
7. Miles Morales (Spiderman - Comics/Movies)
Another comic book character in my list. Miles is a cool addition to the Spiderverse and the movies they made are just INCREDIBLE! The animation, everything is top notch. Also Miles is very relatable and has an intesresting development. You get attached to him quickly and he's just so lovable, idk he's my son, i stan.
8. Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf - TV)
Honestly asfghjkl!! I've always loved this character, more so when i was a teenager watching Teen Wolf. Looking back now, the show was not that good but at the time I was pretty obsessed. Stiles was everything i loved about a character: funny, sarcastic, entertaining, likable... He made the show a lot better and kept me watching! He's low on this list only because i'm not into Teen Wolf as much as i was back in the day.
9. Sana Bakkoush (Skam - TV)
She's so cool?? I wish i had been like that when i was a teenager, well for the most part lol. I really like her unbothered attitude and her snarky comments. She is fierce, not afraid to say what she thinks and is loyal to her friends and trustworthy. She's a teenager who has still a lot to learn but she's already wise for her age and just a good character overall. I really like female characters who are confident and charismatic! Her season wasn't perfect, but for me she was the best character in the whole series 😊
10. Sidney Adamu (The Bear - TV)
She's last on the list mostly because she's a new favorite, but she's very cool. I can relate to her, she's fresh and real, she knows her worth, she's courageous, hard-working and just very lovable as a character! Sydney captivated me from the beginning and her scenes were always my favorites. Haven't finished season 2 yet but I can't wait to see where her character goes! ✨
#i probably forgot some but it was hard to only pick 10#and wtf i don't have enough female characters on this list#i should make a list with my top 10 favorite female characters cause wth#shigeo kageyama#mob psycho 100#megumi fushiguro#jujutsu kaisen#dream of the endless#the sandman#five hargreeves#the umbrella academy#minho#minho tmr#the maze runner#wade wilson#deadpool#miles morales#spiderman#spiderman into the spiderverse#across the spiderverse#stiles stilinski#teen wolf#sana bakkoush#skam#sydney adamu#the bear

Oh tea. The rarepairs I have thought about. You’ve opened a door and the ocean is at it (the ocean being my unhinged mind) (and I will not flood you though) 💕
First — I’ve been thinking about Aris and Gally a lot and I want to see if you can be on board with me. To my knowledge their interaction is few and far between but I just kind of love the idea of them.
Aris: contained and somewhat shy but even more cunning than Thomas, less outspoken and openly curious but finds out information and pieces together things on his own before showing anyone else and if someone gets the privilege to see what he’s discovered it’s a great one, not exactly an amazing runner but has his own tactics of survival as he is somewhat mischievous in his own right. Kind of the hidden predator you’d never expect but also doesn’t want to be that if he doesn’t have to.
Gally: I’d wax poetic but we both know, we just both KNOW, especially post tdc he’s damaged and lonely and trying his best, can be absolutely brutal but doesn’t want to be seen as such, ruthless when on a mission, is very intelligent and was often underestimated, does let fear control his motivation but he’s trying to overcome that because he wants to be BRAVE (oh look at that I’m waxing poetic again).
Anyways, yeah — tea, do you have thoughts or am I alone on this boat?
why helloooOOOO
first off: crest, you are NEVER alone in a boat 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 but also not in this specific one, worry not.
i've talked about aris and gally with @dunne-ias before and i do love the idea of them!! i believe that was in a modern day au, where aris just fit that tad bit better than thomas because he's that little bit more.. off. which is a bit of what you're getting at, too, i think?
ias correct me if i'm wrong but i think it was aris being into gally and gally not clocking it At All? which in that instant was just much more charming than if it would've been thomas, bc thomas is all head first running into something and aris would be keeping his cards close to his chest, even if he was trying to make it super obvious he had a thing for gally??
and you got me thinking, i don't know that they ever interact in canon at all. aris isn't on the minho rescuing mission, and i just watched the safe haven vince pep talk scene pretty closely to do that thomally week gifset and i don't think gally and aris are shown to acknowledge each other.. but i could be wrong, i wasn't specifically on the lookout!
i do think that in movie canon aris and gally are a very interesting spot, because aris could only ever have heard about gally's arc in the maze second hand. and he never knew chuck. so he might be intuitively more inclined than the gladers to have empathy as his primary reaction to those events. and it could result in scenes of gally trying to explain to aris just why he is such a bad person.
ohhhhh but honestly now i'm thinking about them at safe haven 0.0. quietly working alongside each other (different tasks though, i wouldn't think aris would be especially skilled in building something), and it takes gally much longer to notice aris in the first place than the other way around. bc gally's so caught up in everyone he lost, and the guilt he's carrying with him. i think talking to aris, and forming some sort of tentative friendship could be a really good way for him to get some tether to live that isn't centered around the gladers as a social group.
OR, this just came to me, it could start off as a hook up alsdkjfsalkdjffds. love sex + emotions <3 oh my god. i am having vivid ideas of how a scene like that could go. curse you, crest.
but also thank you - tickling new spots of the brain is always a good time! and tmr rarepairs are just a fantastic way of doing that.
<3

skz reacting to you flashing them?
you don’t know how excited this ask made me - i’ve always wanted one like this and this is my first one! thank you for this request :’)
SMUT - MINORS DNI
warnings: mentions of food, public flashing, dirty talk, exhibitionism, use of the word “slut”, brat tendencies, mentions of gagging
i went hard (who’s surprised) so pls enjoy <3
you know that embarrassed look chan gets after he flashes his abs on stage? the way he giggles as redness creeps up his neck? when you flash him in the studio, his reaction is the exact same - except he’s flushing with arousal instead of embarrassment. it came out of nowhere. first you were cuddling in his lap, fingers lazily drawing circles on his side as he worked, then suddenly your tits were in his face, a tent immediately pitching in his pants. how else is he supposed to react? it was so sudden, so unexpected. “come on baby, don’t tease me.” he says, reaching towards your bunched up shirt when he freezes. like they have a mind of their own, his hands move towards your breasts, cupping them gently. they’re so warm and soft, perfectly fitting in his hand. “fuck, keep an eye out, would ya?” is the last thing he says before his lips latch onto your nipple.
minho is expressionless, the only thing he’s giving you is a few rapid blinks before turning around and continuing down the walking trail. “hurry up or i’m leaving you behind.” he calls over his shoulder, breaking you out of your stunned state. you pull your tank top before jogging to catch up with your boyfriend, frustrated at yet another failed attempt to catch your boyfriend off guard. this was the ideal place - flashing him in the middle of a public, often busy walking trail should have worked out perfectly in your favor. instead, you’re walking beside him with a pout, more upset than embarrassed. it didn’t work. your grand scheme really ended in yet another failure. when were you going to get him? when was it your turn to win? your pity party was cut short by minho grabbing your forearm, pulling you off the walking trail and behind a cluster of trees. pressing you up against a tree, he clasps a hand over your mouth to silence any noise you might release. “that was a cute little stunt you pulled.” his foot is kicking your feet, spreading your legs out. “almost got me this time.”
weddings are either a blast or a drag, and unfortunately for you, this one was the latter. sitting at a table in the back of a crowded reception hall, you spun the mixing straw in your drink to give you something to do. it felt like you’ve been here for years rather than hours, cursed to spend an eternity making small talk with people you don’t know. changbin plopped in the seat next to you, leaning over to peck your cheek. he had been the social one this evening, whisked away by any and everyone here, charming smile and jokes making everyone swoon. it was fun to watch, for a bit. but now you were bored, and the suit he had on did nothing but make you needy. the idea that crossed your mind was so inappropriate, so wicked that it might just succeed in getting you out of here early. a hand on your lover’s thigh, nails digging in to grab his attention. when changbin whips his head towards you, mouth opening to speak, drool comes out instead at the sight of your dress pulled down just enough to showcase your tits. it’s brief - you don’t want anyone but him to see - but it’s enough to have him standing up quickly, subtly adjusting his pants before holding a hand out. when you take it, his hand squeezes yours a bit too firm, causing it to tingle. “when we get to the car, your panties better be off. i’m not in the mood to waste time.”
it wouldn’t surprise you if hyunjin’s jaw unhinged, it dropped so far and fast. in his defense the last place he expected you to flash him was in the middle of a movie theater. granted, it was a good place to do so - it’s dark, you two are sat in the back corner, there’s hardly anyone in the theater with you two. he just wasn’t expecting it - as a self proclaimed exhibitionist, he would’ve seen expected this in a more “public” setting, like a grocery store or the farmer’s market. this seemed a little tame for you … or is that what you want him to think? “can you put your shirt down? i can’t focus with your tits out.” he tries to seem uninterested, like he isn’t trying to get another glance at them out of the corner of his eye. you pull your shirt down, and he really thinks you fell for it - but he’s always been a bit naive. you’re inching closer to him, legs spread out across his lap. cold hands grab his warm ones (sweaty with both nerves of getting caught and from how fucking horny he is), bringing one up to your mouth and the placing the other on your upper thigh. as your mouth latches around three of his fingers, move the hand on your thigh closer and closer to the cuff of your shorts. that. that’s his breaking point. with a roll of his eyes, he pulls his hands away from you to grab the loops on your shorts, bringing you as close to him as possible without being suspicious. “you’re fucking insatiable.”
who knew a plastic cup hitting the ground could be so loud? not you - not until jisung short circuited, brain checking out for the day at the sight of your bare chest in the middle of the company’s hallway. it takes him a moment to process what’s happening, then a moment to admire the sight (after all, he’s nothing if not the biggest titty enthusiast to ever walk the earth), and a moment to remember his surroundings. by the time all the bases are covered and he’s grabbing at your shirt, you’re giggling at the cute look on his face. shirt back in place, you reach up and squish his cheeks, cooing about how precious he looked. any other day, he’d let you gush over him, the praise boosting his ego and going straight to his cock. but today, showing off what’s his where anyone could walk by? just to see him freeze? he all but throws you over his shoulder, dragging you into the nearest practice room. when the door is locked, you’re pressed against it, bottoms already nearing your ankles. “you’re so funny, pulling this shit and thinking you’ll get away with it.” jisung doesn’t even fully removed your shirt, pushing it up enough to expose your chest to him. he spits directly on your nipples, humming happily as he watches them harden as goosebumps surround them. it’s always a delight, seeing your body react to his touch. “if you want to act like such a slut, i’ll treat you like one.”
“yah, baby!” felix cries out softly. he was so taken aback to turn around, coming face to face with your boobs with no warning. not that he was necessarily complaining - it’s one of his favorite sights in the world - he just didn’t expect it. you completely threw him off his rhythm, making him almost forget about the pan of brownie batter in his hand. he looks back and forth between you and the oven, brain making the wise decision to put the dessert away before focusing on you. you stood on the other side of the kitchen island, his hoodie hiked up to reveal your boobs, perky and plush and fuck, is his mouth watering? the whines you release, begging for his attention makes his knees weak, sweatpants a lot tighter than they were just moments ago. when he calls you over, you practically run, pulling the hoodie over your head before you crash into his arms. lips connected, he spins you around, pining you between his body and counter. you’re moaning into his mouth, the tugs at his dark hair making felix moan as one hand cups one of your breasts, the other reaching behind you. when he finds what he’s look for, felix breaks the kiss, stepping a half step back. you’re whimpering, about to beg him to come back to you when you feel a thick, room temperature liquid drop on your chest. you look down to see the excess brownie batter being dripped on you from felix’s mixing spoon. once he deems it enough, felix bends down, tongue rolling out and onto your body as he laps the sweet batter up. he’s moaning, tongue move rapidly as he licks all around your nipple to clean you up. “taste even better on you.”
he’s not going to lie - seungmin is a bit annoyed. just because you’re bored doesn’t mean you have to make it seungmin’s problem. he told you to bring a book, or your switch, or something to do while he worked. it’s not his fault you were stubborn, insisting your phone was enough of a distraction for the unspecified amount of time the two of you would be here. he knew you would grow bored of tiktok eventually, refreshing the feed on all of your accounts, praying for new content to occupy your time. seungmin saw this coming - which is why he told you to bring a back up plan. little did he know your back up plan was trying to seduce him. your bra slid across his laptop keyboard, his eyes rolling as you giggled at him. he shook his head, picking up bra up and shoving as much of it as he could in his pocket without looking back at you. ignoring you to the best of his ability, he tried to focus until your string of “minnnnniiieeee”s was too obnoxious to ignore. spinning around, he finds you topless, playing with the frill of your skirt. “really?” he asked with a sigh, making you pout and ask him if he didn’t think you looked pretty. of course he did, you know that as well as him, the hard on he’s now sporting only backing the evidence. but he doesn’t give into you that easily, turning back to his work without another word. he listens to you whine, debating putting headphones on to drown you out. that is, until- “fine. i’ll just play with myself since you don’t want to.” and if you thought he was annoyed before, he’s even more so now. he’s over to your seat in a flash, knee pushing up in between your thighs as he grabs your throat - not squeezing, just to grab your attention. “stop being such a brat before you make me do something i’ll regret.”
jeongin saw it coming a mile away. the mischievous twinkle in your eyes, the way you triple checked your surroundings, teeth pulling your bottom lip in. he caught your wrists the moment they were at your shoulders, pulling your shirt back down and your body into his. you try to gasp, but are quickly cut short by jeongin’s lips on yours. “nice try.” he mumbles against your lips, pecking them twice before moving away from you. this wasn’t the first time you’ve done something like this, and he knows it won’t be your last. it was almost like a game at this point - how far could you get with exposing yourself before he stopped you? he only slipped up once, so frustrated with himself that he pulled you into a closed exhibit at the art museum you were visiting and railed you against a fairly expensive painting. you had gotten bolder since then, trying it out in places that were more crowded with more witnesses, the witnesses changing from strangers to jeongin’s peers, superiors, coworkers. friends. it’s much more fun when there’s more of a risk. today you had picked the riskiest place of all - the hallway the leads to his family’s living room. every member of his family frequented that area often, making it extra risky for both you and him. the moment he invited you to visit home with him, he knew you’d try something like this. and he’s nothing if not always prepared. letting go of your wrists, he takes a step back, hand cupping your face as he rubbed the smeared lipstick off the side of your lip. “i hope you enjoy dinner, my dear. it’s the last time you won’t be gagged for a while.”

Compromise (~2280 words) read on AO3 // AFF
- December 8, 2017 -
“Are you sure you want to head to the shelter today?”
Minho nodded, his eyes tightly shut as he waited for the Wiggenweld Kibum made as soon as they returned from the hospital to take effect. Kibum resettled into bed, combing his fingers lightly through his hair.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to, babe.” Gradually, the throbbing ache of his thigh started to dissipate. Enough, at least, for Minho to open his eyes. Kibum smiled as he met his gaze, his expression softening ever so slightly. “We can wait until you’re feeling better.”
“I’ll be fine.”
Kibum let out an exasperated sigh, which made Minho chuckle. "I don't need to even say it, do I?"
Did Kibum need to say that Minho was a bit reckless when it came to injuries? No. That's why he was in this predicament in the first place. But, for Minho's part, he didn't really see going to an animal shelter as reckless.
"No, but really, I'll be just fine. We can apparate there and back again without making me be on my feet too much."
"As long as you use your walker -- " Minho sucked his teeth in disdain, frowning up at Kibum. "It's that or I'm confining you to the house. You can use your crutches in a few weeks, but Healer Talpin said that it'd be best to -- "
"I know, babe, I was there," he grumbled as he tried to sit up, only for Kibum to lean across him, holding him in place. "I just look so dumb when I use it."
"Well if you see anyone making fun of you, just let me know so I can hex them." Minho sniffed a laugh, searching Kibum's blazing eyes. "Look, we're not taking any chances with your recovery, got it?" When Minho started to avert his eyes, Kibum moved his head, staying in his eye line. "What would you do if it were me?"
Well, they both knew the answer to that.
He sighed. "Okay. Walker it is."
The seriousness in Kibum's expression melted away as he smiled, his eyes becoming crescents as he leaned in for a quick kiss. "Good. What do you want to wear today?" he asked as he backed away from Minho, rolling off the bed and heading for their closet.
"Go ahead and choose for me. I trust you."
Even though most of the pain was obliterated now that the Wiggenweld had taken effect, Minho still didn't trust putting too much weight on his leg. Neither did Kibum, so he helped Minho into his jeans and gingerly put his thigh woolen socks and winter boots on while Minho fumbled with and slipped into his sweater.
"Here, can you lift your leg?"
"Mhm."
Kibum reached around, grabbing the strappy brace that Talpin had given Minho to use for a bit of extra support and held it open as he worked it up to and around Minho's thigh. "Is that too tight?" Kibum asked after he had tapped it with the tip of his wand, the straps fastening themselves.
"No, it's just fine. Thanks, sweetheart," he added as Kibum stood.
Kibum smiled down at him, his hand going up to gently cup his cheek as he kissed his forehead. Minho's heart stuttered at the tenderness. It may have been usual before their fight, but in the aftermath...in the absence of anything, the smallest gestures of affection since their reconciliation filled him with such a lingering warmth that carried him throughout the day.
He'd never take it for granted ever again.
At Minho's insistence, they stopped at Sanderson's first before they went out into the No-Maj world. He conjured up some cupholders on his walker while Kibum paid for their drinks, and as soon as they were back outside, Kibum slipped his hand around his arm, twisting on his spot.
It took nearly all of his concentration to keep a hold on his walker as the city swirled around him. When they arrived, Kibum seemed to have taken special care to appear in the alley behind Animal Haven on Centre St.
Kibum tucked his wand into his coat, then grabbed their coffees before they started for the animal shelter.
A wave of warmth greeted them, soon followed by a chorus of distant barking and meowing. "Hello!" the woman wearing a Santa hat behind the counter said, her cheeks just as rosy and her smile just as bright as Santa's himself. The cat curled up on the counter beside her looked up lazily. It deemed them not worth the trouble of getting up any further and tucked its head back into its side. "Just here to look around?" she asked as Kibum helped Minho hobble inside.
The door jingled as it fell shut behind them. The cat's tail twitched at the sound.
"Yes, I think so."
"We might adopt today."
Her eyebrows shot up in interest. "Dogs are back there." She gestured to the hallway behind her, then pointed past the ginger tabby on the counter. "And cats are that way."
"Thank you," Minho said, and Kibum started towards the dogs. He didn't have to turn back around to know that she was watching him curiously.
Kibum held the door open for him, the excited barking echoing around them. German shepherds, pit bulls, and mixes Minho never could have placed watched them as they inspected them. Some hid in the back of their cages, others jumped up on the chain-link gate, tails wagging as they whined for either Minho or Kibum to oblige them or to pass by. Minho stopped to put his hand out for one of the labrador-looking dogs to sniff, but it ended up excitedly licking his hand.
“I wish Jonghyun could have come with us,” Minho said, smiling down at the dog.
“Yeah, it sucks that he had to work.” When Minho looked up, he found Kibum crouching down in front of one of the cages, sticking his fingers through the fence. It took him an annoyingly long time to reach him, but when he did, he smiled.
There were two poodles inside, a red one and a black one, both watching them curiously from the back of their cage. Since he couldn’t crouch beside Kibum, he read the little paper attached to the chain link.
Meet Comme Des (5 y/o, male, red Toy Poodle) and Garcons (2 y/o, male, black Toy Poodle), two adorable, inseparable brothers! Their owner passed away and her remaining family refused to take the boys in, so they are ready to be adopted into a loving home!
He shifted his weight off of his bad leg as he looked back at the puppies.
“The red one looks like the one Grandma used to have.”
“Yeah?”
“Mhm.”
Minho hummed in thought, glancing up at the sheet of paper again. “Well, I’m good with adopting two puppies if you are.”
“Both?” Kibum asked, a hint of incredulity in his voice. Minho nodded and pointed at the paper, and Kibum stood quickly to read it for himself. “Oh, poor things...Love the names, though.”
“I thought you might.” Kibum sniffed a laugh, patting Minho’s shoulder as he shook his head. “Do we want to head back to the front desk to see if we can adopt them?” Kibum looked up at him, his eyes alight with excitement, and he nodded.
They didn’t leave the shelter with the puppies in tow for another hour, and even then, they debated whether they should disapparate or not, in the end, Minho opted on disapparating alone so he wouldn’t have to be on his feet that much longer and Kibum would take a Magi-Cab home instead of the subway.
He appeared in their room, first, so he could sit while he took off his shoes and coat. Then he fell back, knocking a sigh out of him as he looked up at the starry ceiling. Was this just gonna be his life now? Playing Quidditch and getting injured? Not that it happened often since he started playing professionally, but it happened quite a bit during school. He just...put his all into the game and sometimes that came back to bite him.
Hm…
Maybe Kibum had a point.
Minho pushed himself up, his gaze falling on the drawer of his nightstand. He pulled it open, revealing the Snitches within -- the one with Kibum’s ring, and the one from the last game.
He leaned forward, touching it, setting it aflutter around the room. It zoomed around lazily, Minho's gaze following it.
How many more years did he have, anyway? He just shaved a few off with this injury, but really, how long did he have left? Kibum was right, of course. He did get too passionate sometimes. Too into the game. Minho glanced down at his ankle, the one which -- just like his leg -- had been broken by a Bludger. It still twinged when the weather changed.
Come to think of it, it was aching right now.
What would his next Quidditch injury be? There was bound to be more, with how he went about it. Could he put Kibum through another scare like that?
He had told him the night before they left the hospital after the last of Minho's visitors had left him, that in his worry, he panicked and thought that Minho could have died.
Kibum had brushed off Minho's concern with a laugh, then changed the subject once again to the puppies they were going to adopt.
Speaking of, where was he? He glanced at the empty stairwell as if the thought of Kibum would make him appear.
Wincing, he gingerly swung his leg up onto the bed, sitting back against his pillows. The Snitch came over to inspect him before it flitted away again. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly as he watched it.
"No," he whispered aloud to the empty room. "I can't."
If they were going be married -- which, of course, they were. As soon as he could kneel again, he was going to propose -- would it be fair or kind to Kibum to put him through that stress every time he played a game? It wouldn't. Especially not with his history of lost loved ones.
No.
He couldn't do that to him.
He reached for his phone and pulled up his and Mercy's texts.
Actually, he should wait a bit, think it through a bit longer. He was almost sure that he was going to go with this decision, but it was better to be absolutely positive. Nodding to himself, he set aside his phone.
As soon as he drew his hand back, the front door cracked open. "Babe?"
"I'm upstairs!" Kibum was accompanied by some high-pitched, probably nervous whining and the rustle of plastic bags. The Snitch drifted over to the stairwell, hovering over it. Possibly to see what the commotion was. Minho pushed himself up. "Do you want my help?"
"No, no, I'm fine." Their little cages were unhinged, and soon the sound of their scurrying on the hardwood floor floated up to him. “Come on, boys,” Kibum said, his voice very high-pitched. “Let’s go outside, yeah?”
Minho sighed, smiling as he listened to Kibum continue to talk to them until the back door swung closed. He resettled on the bed, not feeling all that inclined to get up. He hadn’t realized he had started to drift off until Kibum slid into bed beside him, rousing him.
“Was I asleep?” he asked.
“You were well on your way.” Kibum leaned in, Minho tipping his chin up so Kibum could kiss him. “I’m sorry for waking you.”
“You’re a nice thing to wake up to, so it’s okay.”
Kibum’s smile grew. “You’re so sappy.”
“What? You love it.”
“So what if I do?”
Minho had been about to answer, but he held his tongue when Kibum turned around. “Where’s your brother?” he asked, and Minho peered around to see Garcons watching them from the top step. At Kibum’s question, Garcons turned around and hurried back downstairs. “Why do I feel like he understood me?”
And, sure enough, a moment later Garcons returned with Comme Des, who immediately ran in and hopped on their bed, bounding up to Kibum. Garcons was soon to follow, except he directed his attention to Minho, half-standing on his chest, his head cocking to the side as he looked down at Minho.
“Do you think they’ll nap with us?”
“Is that what we were doing?”
“It’s what you were doing and I felt inclined to join you.”
Minho sniffed a laugh. “I guess there’s only one way to find out.”
Kibum hummed in thought, then slipped down, resting his head on Minho’s shoulder like usual. It only took a few minutes for Garcons to curl up between them and for Comme Des to flop down in the curve of Kibum’s knees. “I think if we’re really still, they’ll fall asleep.”
“That’s usually how it works, yeah.”
Kibum sucked his teeth, and Minho started to laugh quietly. “Don’t make me get some of that extra strength Wiggenweld.”
Minho grinned, meeting Kibum’s eye when he lifted his head. “Oh, sweetheart, I don’t need that shit to wax eloquent about how amazing you are.”
His dimples appeared as he pursed his lips together in an attempt not to smile, and he rested his head back down on Minho’s shoulder, snuggling a bit closer to him. Minho lifted his head from his pillow to kiss the crown of his head, then let it fall back against his pillow again, his eyes drooping closed once more.

CHAPTER 7: A Proposal
Chapter 6| Jungle City |Chapter 8
The Forest was charred beyond belief, yet The Heart of The Forest was fine. Green trees still stood tall and buildings that were once overflowing with people now were abandoned but just as vibrant as they once were. It was as if you had walked right into a ghost town.
No one talked as leaves crunched underneath their footsteps and as The Raven continued to lead the way; the unmistakable violin music still playing. The way he walked, the way he was overall, was unnerving; like something in him was unhinged. It reminded you of how you felt about Jisung and Felix, but they were tolerable. This was something of your nightmares, with the way he swayed and shuffled from side to side as he walked like a drunken man; yet in perfect time with the beat.
“He’s crazy,” Woojin whispered in your ear, low enough for it to barely even be heard by you. “But don’t let that fool you.
You only had a small amount of time to nod before you came to a stop in front of a tree, one that looked as old as The Forest itself. The Raven swaggered up to a seemingly meaningless part of it, pressing his hand against a discolored portion of bark until it sunk into itself. By the way the boys all stiffened up, you didn’t know if they had ever been to this place before; or if it was really something to be afraid of. The bark broke down and slid into the ground before the unhinged boy turned around opening his arms in a splendor.
“Welcome to The Nest, touch anything and I will kill you.” Was his welcoming speech before he disappeared into the opening, not waiting for the boys who were hesitating.
“Heads up, and hands to yourself.” Felix mumbled before hiking his pack farther up his shoulder and stumbling into the dark, the boys finally seeming to jolt out of their reluctance and follow Felix’s lead. Chan pulled his hat a little farther down his head before turning to you, eyes calculating yet frantic. You could tell he was worried about this meeting.
“We have to go in.” He said and you moved to follow behind him, watching as even he hesitated at the threshold while all the others began to descend down the stairs.
“I know.” You said, taking a step down before turning towards him, with what you hoped was a comforting smile. “Let’s go before he thinks you ran away.”
Chan just shook his head but there seemed to be a new resolve in his eyes, the reluctance entirely gone. “We’ve never been in here before…. Felix is the only one.”
“That boy will always scare me more than this… raven.” You mumbled listening to the barrage of footsteps descending down the stairs. You couldn’t even see how far ahead all the boys were, even more so when the entrance rose back up to stop the light from coming in.
“Felix is at least loyal.” Chan huffed, taking your hand as you came down to a solid floor, once again only lit by red lighting, but the feel of it compared to The Den was much more sinister. Like this was a place that even God would not speak of.
It was clear enough to see why- the red walls weren’t the only thing that was intimidating; the guns that were piled in the corner and the masks that you had seen rebels on tv wear were more than enough to chill your bones. Some of the boys even looked phased by the amount of deadly things in the room, yet the only one who looked comfortable enough was Felix; who stood before The Raven.
Here, in his “nest”, it made sense why Chan was so weary of him. The craziness in his eyes seemed to dissipate just slightly, giving him a look of seriousness that could come unhinged at any moment. It was like he mimicked his surroundings without even meaning to. A chameleon of a character, one that seemed to run the largest illegal dealings in the city.
“So,” his voice had changed from outside, it was now rougher and more serious. “You’ve came to make a deal.”
“Well we didn’t just pop in to chat.” Felix huffed, earning an amused look from the Raven as he slung his backpack off of his shoulder. “We’ve got hundreds of pounds of weaponry. Jeongin’s got information. And you, Changbin, have everything in between.”
Changbin didn’t look startled from Felix calling him by his real name, no he just smiled at the usage and picked at the knives littering the table he was leaning on. “It’s always so wonderful seeing how everyone but Chan speaks. You surely share your leadership position, don’t you Channy?”
“We came to make a deal, not chat. What’s your price.” Chan stiffened as Changbin roamed his eyes over him and then trailed to meet yours, where he paused for a moment before smiling.
“How about a new helper?” Changbin pointed a freshly sharpened knife at your direction, and it took all your willpower to keep the neutral expression on your face.
A low warning growl rumbled from Chan, “Not up for negotiation. You know the rules about the members.”
“I know, but they’re so boring!” Changbin huffed, slamming the knife into the wood of the table, “You never have any fun Chan with the same old rules.”
“They keep us safe,” Chan pursed his lips in thought, “That’s good enough. Now the deal.”
“Fine, yes, whatever.” Changbin waved his hand to follow as he stood from the table and started down the hallways lined with masks. “You want something to do, don’t you? A mission? A purpose? Maybe follow in The Serpents footsteps with their last big attack?”
“We want to end this revolution.” Jeongin spoke, his words fluid and intoxicating even in the underground of these rooms. “I suppose whatever will clean that up nicely will suffice for now.”
“Killing the mayor will surely do that.” Changbin stepped into an open room, where men in black paced around grabbing weaponry and sprinting this way and that. It looked like a factory, of people sprinting and trying to make the most advancements as fast as they could; and a man in the middle directing them all. He was dressed like any civilian you would see on the street; with his hair slicked back and adorned in the reds and blacks of the flag. You couldn’t trust appearances anymore though.
“You brought them here?” You didn’t even need to see his facial expression to understand the annoyance in his voice.
Besides you, Jisung scoffed, “Always lovely seeing you too Hyunjin.”
“It’s Paca to you, fucker.” Hyunjin turned to glare into the piercing gaze of Jisung; the angry tension between them evident to anyone in the room. You didn’t even want to think about what could have happened to make them so hostile towards one another.
“I love a good fight,” Changbin began, crossing to the table along the back wall giving Hyunjin a stifling glare as he passed, “But now's not the time.”
“You nearly let Hyunjin kill me last time we met in The Tiger’s Eye.” Jisung huffed, crossing his arms and glaring back at Hyunjin who hadn’t stopped staring.
“But did you die then? No. And besides you were annoying. “ Changbin slid over the table and began to rustle around in its drawers. “But we have a deal going on don’t we? Weaponry and galore for information… or a possible mission.”
“What mission would you have that could garner what we want to do?” Jeongin purred as he crossed the room, uncaring of the men who sprinted across it and came to a stop in front of Changbin’s desk.
Changbin pulled out a file from the depths of the drawers and placed it on the table. His face seemed to have morphed once again, from the serious business man to a now somber expression. “Something I didn’t even let Hongjoong know about.”
“Even I know you let The Eight have their choice of missions.” Woojin huffed as everyone began to surround the desk. “Why let this one slide.”
“Because,” Hyunjin’s voice was regretful from behind you. “It could end everything. It could kill us all. We didn’t want The Eight taking it on because they’re so unpredictable.”
“So why wait till now.” Your voice was quiet as you spoke, but Hyunjin’s gaze on you made you feel as though you had screamed.
His eyes grew contemplative under your graze before he turned to look back at the whole group, “It was supposed to go to Jaebum. To the Serpents…. But with Jaebum gone… We don’t want to give it to the grieving.”
“So you’re letting it fall to us?” Chan summarized with his eyes locked on the pile of papers on the desk.
Changbin nodded, toying with the ripped edges of a document, “You were the second choice… Or if you decline, I’m sure 127 would be willing to take the job-”
“You would seriously trust them?” Jisung interrupted eyes trained on whatever was inside that file. “You could only count on three of them, if that, to get anything done.”
“But they would get it done eventually,” Hyunjin huffed and came around the side of the table to lay his hand against the document. “So are you in or out? We need an answer.”
“We need a job description.” Chan’s eyes were skeptical but something inside him seemed calm.
“Can never just say yes blindly can you.” Changbin laughed but nonetheless flipped over the top covering, revealing a plethora of pictures and documents of every government official; especially the mayor. “We already did a public attempts on the mayors life… it’s time we tried for a more subtle attempt.”
Minho blinked in response before cocking his head to the side, “What do you mean.”
Changbin took a breath before looking up to meet all of our eyes one by one, before lingering back to Chan. “I mean, we go inside.”
“We get into his circle… his private life.” Jeongin murmured running his hand through his red hair, “It’s crazy.”
The boys all went into uproar at the simplified version. They shouted how it was crazy, how not even the best of the best could infiltrate the mayor’s circle, much less his private life. Yet, Chan didn’t look phased; he barely moved and instead looked down thoughtfully considering the possibilities of it all. To you, the planned seemed to make sense; even if the boys were rejecting even the chance of it.
“Doesn’t it make sense though?” Your words made the boys pause their uproar, turning to look at you with that peculiar glare you had already become accustomed too.
“Y/n, you’re new I wouldn’t expect you to understand that it’s a suicide mission.” Felix growled and you had half the thought to take the knife on Changbin’s desk and throw it at him.
“Just because I’m new doesn’t mean I don’t understand how this is all playing out.” You sighed, reaching forward and taking the top document despite Changbin’s hand still being plastered to it. “The mayor was nearly killed, a senator was killed, and the entire population is in a political uproar… you won’t be able to get at the Mayor for months. He’ll place himself behind an iron door for weeks..” You pursed your lips as you read the bottom of the document, remembering the past like it was yesterday. “This happened last time... when his wife died.”
The boys distraught demeanor seemed to fade as they remembered the fateful day years ago; when the entire city was on lock down and the mayor didn’t make a single appearance besides on TV for months. That time though it wasn’t his life that was harmed. It could be a different situation this time around, but he liked to take drastic precautions.
Changbin nodded at you in what seemed like approval, “You won’t see the mayor in public again for weeks, and the entire city will be on a full scale lockdown. You want to cause an uproar? Finally take the piece of shit down? This is your chance if you don’t fuck it up.”
Chan had been quiet the entire time, evaluating the situation with a sturdy gaze before leaning over to take the paper from your hands. The boys held their breath waiting for his response as he scanned everything over with that scrutinizing look of his before he lowered the paper with a huff. “They’re right.”
“Right?” Jisung looked like he was fuming, “They’re right? We’re going to fucking die if we take on this mission Chan.”
“Will be dead anyways.” Chan countered, swinging a gaze of intensity in Jisung’s direction. “They’ll raid every abandoned district within the month, they’ll hang warrants along every wall, and if we weren’t careful enough; we will be on the list. I don’t see another option.”
“So it’s death,” Felix sighed with a roll of his eyes, “Or torture than death. Actually we’d be tortured, dragged through the streets, and brutally executed in both instances-”
“Would you rather die trying or doing nothing at all?” Chan growled, silencing the boys and their panic, “Because I for one, would rather have my blood be spilled across the streets than give up.”
It only took a moment of silence before Woojin nodded in agreement, “I’ve always trusted your judgement, and it’s never let me down yet.”
“You’re an idiot though for sure,” Minho added but eventually sighed, “But you always know what to do… so I’m in.”
“Well if we die, we die together I suppose.” Jisung rolled his shoulders in exasperation, “But I guess I’m in too.”
Jeongin snorted and leaned against the table, “I’ll live either way so why the hell not.”
“Shut up you rich fuck,” Felix shook his head with a hint of a smile, “But I suppose i would rather die extravagantly than by some prick with an AK.”
“I’m in too.” Seungmin’s voice drafted through the earpieces, “It’s the best shot we’ve gotten in awhile.”
Chan smiled at the boys in pride before turning to you, that amused look back in his eyes, “So what do you say newbie?”
“Seeing as I vouched for the plan,” You started, noticing the way the boys all looked at you differently now, “I would say i’m obligated to say yes; but I don’t think I had any other option.”
“You learn fast,” Chan huffed, moving to throw an arm around your shoulder which provided you an instant comfort despite the situation.
“Well, that was touching.” Changbin scoffed and everyone jumped back to face him. “But I do think it’s time we begin planning, and getting those guns you brought me into shape. We’ll need them.”

“y/n! wake up, it’s time to go!” you were shaken out of your sleep by a voice speaking to you and two large masses crushing your feet. you groaned as your eyes fluttered open, groggily sitting up to see wheein and hwasa sitting at the end of your bed.
“why the hell are you waking me up this early,” you complained, throwing your pillow at the two girls.
“it’s the first day of camp! we’re gonna go get breakfast then we all go canoeing afterwards. after that is the lunch picnic and then free time for the rest of the afternoon. and tonight is movie night so that starts when it gets dark,” hwasa explained, a bright smile on her face.
“fine. but i’m not getting ready until after breakfast,” you said, rolling out of bed and pulling your hair up into a messy bun (it’s y/n she HAS to put her hair in a messy bun at least once, its like the law).
“solar and moonbyul are already there,” wheein said as the three of you walked out of your cabin and down to the mess hall, you still being in your pajamas, which were just an old t-shirt and sweatpants. you sat at the table where all of the boys and the rest of your cabin were. you plopped down in between chan and jihoon, grabbing a muffin from the basket in the center of the table and leaning your head on chan’s shoulder.
“you look like shit, y/n,” soonyoung said through a mouthful of pancake. you shot him a sarcastic smile while flipping him off before taking a bite of your muffin. chan reached around you to pat your shoulder comfortingly, smiling down at you. chan had always been like a little brother to you, just like a majority of the younger boys, but you had always had a soft spot for the youngest. he was going into his freshman year in high school the next year and you always loved giving him advice about school or girls and other things a boy his age would stress over.
“don’t listen to him, he’s being a dick this morning. he’s already dumped water on mingyu’s lap and said he peed himself,” solar told you, “but then wonwoo punched him in the gut, so it worked out.” you hardly acknowledged what she said, still being half asleep. by the time you had just finished your muffin, you saw someone else squish in between you and jihoon.
“good morning, poo butt,” jeonghan chirped, putting his elbow on the table and resting his chin on his hand as he turned to look at you, “sleep well?” you glared at him, using your foot to kick his shin under the table, making him yelp and pout at you.
“what do you want, jeonghan?” you seethed, still scowling at him.
“well, since canoeing is after breakfast, i was going to ask if you wanted to partner with me,” he questioned, beaming at you. you sighed deeply and nodded, now being able to sit up after waking up a little more. he clapped his hands and stood up, starting to go back to where he was sitting before turning to you again, “oh, and soonyoung was right. you do look like shit.”
“oh you little-” a burst of energy hit you as you lunged towards him, jumping onto his back and holding your arm around his neck in a headlock. after a moment, the both of you were in a lighthearted mood as he tried to get you off his back.
“y/n! jeonghan! you are both graduated students, you should know that you can’t act like that in the middle of the mess hall!” one of the counselors, minho, shouted. you swiftly jumped off jeonghan’s back standing next to him as you both put your heads down, “both of you go get ready, and don’t behave like that again.” the two of you nodded and shuffled out of the mess hall. but the second you stepped foot out of the building, you looked at each other for a few seconds before bursting out in laughter and holding onto the other for support.
“he was so mad!”
“well, if you hadn’t have jumped on me, he wouldn’t have been mad!”
“then you shouldn’t have said i look like shit!”
“but you do!”
“don’t make me attack you again,” you warned, raising your eyebrows challengingly at him. he help his hands up in surrender and shook his head at you.
“okay, okay. but we should go get ready like he said. canoeing starts in forty five minutes. meet me by the tire swing tree in half an hour?” you nodded, waving goodbye to him as you both ran off to your respective cabins.
another 30 minutes later, you were sitting on the tire swing at your designated meeting area, but no sign of jeonghan yet. you huffed impatiently, tapping your foot against one of the tree roots you were standing above. your eyes flitted to the left as you saw something moving out of the corner of your eyes. the second you saw who was there, your heart dropped.
jeonghan.
with jinsoul.
he was apparently helping her put her life jacket on over her bathing suit that was definitely not modest enough for her to be in the presence of the children who were also getting their life jackets on, less than twenty feet away from her. you took a deep breath and began to walk over to the two, holding back your anger and jealousy as best you could. jeonghan noticed you once you came within a few feet of them, turning to look at you with a smile as soon as he finished the last buckle on jinsoul’s life jacket.
“hey, monkey!” you fake smiled at him and waved. jinsoul waved back at you, a genuine smile on her face. she wasn’t a bad person, you knew that. she was actually really nice. you thought you guys would probably be friends if your severe desire for jeonghan didn’t stand in the way all the time. you knew she didn’t mean any harm by flirting with him, he was handsome, and lots of girls did it. she had no idea you liked him, you assumed.
“i was just talking to jeonghan about how we were gonna go out on the canoe together. who are you going with?” jinsoul asked you, tilting her head to the side, which caused her long blonde hair to fall to the side a bit. your eyes widened and you turned towards jeonghan, who just guiltily shrugged and smiled. but you weren’t the only one who was upset by this. a few feet away, also putting his life jacket on, was boo seungkwan. he whipped around and ran to stand beside jinsoul, putting on his best grin.
“actually, jinsoul, i was going to ask if you wanted to go with me! i need to talk to you about something very important,” seungkwan explained, setting a hand on her shoulder and throwing a not-so-discreet wink towards you.
“hey! i thought we were supposed to go together!” a very upset looking vernon whined, walking up to the four of you. seungkwan raised his eyebrows at vernon, shooting his eyes from jeonghan to you. vernon made an ‘o’ shape with his mouth, giving the shorter boy a thumbs up, “i’ll just go with jungeun,” he said pointing over to the silver-haired girl who was waiting a few feet back, probably thinking she was going to go with jinsoul, considering they were best friends. seungkwan held himself back from a jealous outburst, nodding stiffly and curling his lips up in a phony smile.
“alright, perfect! so jinsoul’s with me and jeonghan is with y/n?” seungkwan asked, looking around to all of you. you all three nodded and walked with your respective partners to the lake, vernon and jongeun walking right behind you. as soon as you had all gotten into your canoes, you pushed off and began to float.
“since i’m the guy, and im strong, i’ll row for us,” jeonghan boasted, flexing his arm muscles that were shown off in the sleeveless shirt he was wearing over his swim trunks. you rolled your eyes and reached down to splash water at him, laughing when his hair got wet and fell flat down on his forehead. he groaned and wiped the water that was dripping down his face, flicking it at you.
“well, big strong guy, we’re both rowing since this is a partner activity.” you both took an oar and began to row, not noticing the three canoes following close behind.
❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀
“okay, jinsoul, listen i know you like jeonghan or whatever, but we need to have a talk about that.” seungkwan looked at the girl sitting across from him in the canoe dead in the eyes, a serious expression on his face. she nodded slowly, prompting him to continue, “so you might have the hots for pretty boy, but he’s in love with y/n and she’s in love with him. he just hasn’t come to terms with his feelings yet, but she did about three years ago. so as nice as you seem, i’m gonna need you to bibbity bobbity back the fuck up.” jinsoul laughed, deeply confusing seungkwan.
“i don’t like jeonghan. he’s cute sure, but i don’t have feelings for him. i flirt with him a lot, but that’s because everyone expects me too. and i would be concerned about playing with his feelings, but i know for a fact he doesn’t have feelings for me, thank gods. plus, it’s a good way to cover up the fact that i’m totaly head over heels for jungeun,” jinsoul explained, looking fondly over at the girl who was talking with vernon, “i just wish your friend would stop talking to her all the time.” seungkwan looked back at vernon and jongeun, turning back to jinsoul with wide eyes, his jaw unhinged.
“so you’re..?”
“a lesbian? yes.” jinsoul lauged, “and i know you want jongeun to stop talking to vernon too. i’ve seen the way you look at him,” she said knowingly.
“is it that obvious?” seungkwan asked nervously.
“not really. i just have a really good gaydar. and i know jungeun is bisexual, she’s told me before, but she still hasn’t figured out i like her. vernon is too, and he probably likes you too, he just doesn’t understand it that well.”
“vernon told you that?” jinsoul shook her head, laughing again.
“nope. i just know.” she winked over-exaggeratedly at the very shocked boy in front of her, “now, what’s our plan to get y/n and jeonghan together?”
“well first we need to call over the other members of the operation,” seungkwan told her before clearing his throat and making an overly loud bird sound, hardly drawing the attention of other campers, since they knew it was him, and that’s just how boo seungkwan is. after a few moments, two canoes rowed over to them, one being vernon and jungeun and the other being the very famous junhao, “jinsoul, you know jun and minghao, junhao, you know jinsoul. she’s now in on the operation.” jun, minghao, and vernon nodded, but jungeun looked extremely confused.
“what’s going on? what operation is this?” jinsoul and seungkwan exchanged a look before jinsoul turned to explain everything to jungeun.
“so basically, y/n and jeonghan are in love, y/n knows she likes him, but jeonghan hasn’t comes to terms with his feelings yet, so all of us are going to get them together. of course, you know i don’t actually like jeonghan, so i’m gonna stop the flirting so we can make y/nhan happen and-” seungkwan held up his hand to stop her from talking, before beginning to speak.
“actually, don’t stop flirting with him. in fact, bump it up a notch. we need y/n to be jealous. the more jealous she gets, the more likely she’ll be to snap and tell jeonghan she likes him.” jinsoul nodded and gave him a thumbs up.
“here’s the current situation,” seungkwan began, “y/n can’t swim. and she freaks out anytime she’s in water that she can’t touch the bottom in. so what we’re gonna do is tip their canoe. y/n has a life jacket, so she won’t drown, but she’ll still get scared, so she’ll go to the closest person, which is jeonghan. jun and minghao will distract them while jinsoul, vernon, jungeun, and i will turn over their canoe. does everyone understand?” the other five collectively nodded before rowing to their positions.
“y/n! jeonghan! look, there’s an eagle!” you and jeonghan both turned your heads in the direction of where jun was pointing, trying to see the bird.
“i don’t see any-” you were cut off by your canoe overturning and you and your best friend being thrown into the water. you instantaneously noticed your feet weren’t touching the bottom and you screeched, thrashing towards jeonghan before clinging onto him. he, being taller than you, could touch the bottom, so he wrapped his arms around your hips, allowing you to wrap your legs around his waist and hide your face in the crook of his neck.
“you’re such a scaredy-cat, monkey,” he teased, using one of his hands to tickle your side. you pulled back and hit him in the chest weakly.
“you know i can’t swim, you asshole! it’s scary.” he rolled his eyes and booped your nose.
“i’ll teach you sometime. now let’s get back to shore so we can dry you off. he started walking out of the water with you still wrapped around him, setting you down on a bench that was on the shore and going to get a towel before bringing to you and wrapping it around your shoulders, leaving his arm around you and letting you curl into his side.
still on the lake, seungkwan and jinsoul gave each other an accomplished look, high-fiving before going back to rowing through the lake.
step one was a success.
❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀
a few hours later, you sat on a soft blanket, unpacking a basket of sandwiches, chips and sodas for a lunch picnic. your cabin, the ‘pinwheel’, ‘highlight’, and ‘chilli’ cabin were all set up on surrounding blankets, but you were the only one without someone else sharing your blanket. jeonghan was with seungcheol and joshua on a blanket, eating a ham and cheese sandwich. you and jeonghan might be best friends, but the three of them were something else. they were the basic cliche of the tsundere bad boy who rides a moter cycle and wears a leather jacket even in summer, seungcheol; the gentleman, joshua; and the heartthrob, jeonghan. you were perfectly fine with sitting alone, especially since you still had people surrounding you, but you were curious about some of the groups who sat together. seungkwan, vernon, jun, and minghao sat with jinsoul and jongeun, who keep turning back and looking at you before looking away quickly. you didn’t think much of it since verkwan was always up to some weird shit. you only hoped it wouldn’t be something that ended up bad for you.
❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀
“so minghao, you’re going to go get sammy to sit with y/n, and make sure he knows to be very friendly with her. jinsoul, you’re going to invite jeonghan to your blanket which has a perfect view of y/n’s blanket, so y/n will be jealous since you’re with jeonghan and then jeonghan will be jealous since y/n is with sammy. jun, go get our picnic basket since you’re the one who forgot it. seungkwan, jungeun, and i will sit here and make sure nothing goes wrong,” vernon spelled out, before putting his hand in front of him, “hands in, everyone.” five other hands set themselves on top of his. “on three, okay? one, two, three, matchmakers!” after their chant, jinsoul, minghao, and jun got up and went to do their individual jobs.
“you think this is gonna work, seungkwan?” jongeun asked. seungkwan grinned smugly, a proud expression on his face.
“of course it’s gonna work. my plans never go wrong.”
・・・
“y/n? would you mind if i sat with you?” you stopped sipping your soda to look up at the person standing next your blanket. you smiled and nodded, patting the spot next to you, gesturing for sammy to sit down.
“why aren’t you sitting with your cabin?” you asked, popping a chip in your mouth before offering the bag to sammy. he shrugged and took the bag from you.
“i just wanted to catch up with you. we haven’t talked in forever.” you nodded, agreeing with him. as you were talking, you noticed jinsoul crouching down in front of jeonghan’s blanket before taking his hand to lead him to her blanket. deciding to ignore it, you shook your head and continued your conversation with sammy. you wanted to enjoy your lunch without jealousy ruining it. but there was jealousy present within someone else.
jeonghan had sat down with jinsoul, looking up and noticing sammy saying something to make you laugh and immediately turning into a little green-eyed monster. he tried to disregard it, but you kept putting your hand on his shoulder, and he kept making you laugh, and the two of you were subconsciously getting closer and closer. jeonghan was angry. he didn’t exactly know why, but he was. the final straw was when sammy reached around and tickled your sides, causing you to curl up and fall into his arms. jeonghan stood up abruptly, his soda clutched in his hand, and walked up towards you and sammy. as he walked past, he tipped the can over, spilling soda all over the other boy’s lap. you gasped and turned to grab napkins out of your basket.
“oh my gosh, i’m so sorry, simon!” jeonghan said, feigning concern and innocence.
“it’s sammy, and don’t worry about it. just be careful next time,” sammy replied taking a few napkins from you. you started helping him clean up the sticky drink, dabbing the napkins on his legs, getting much too close to him for jeonghan’s liking. he really didn’t think that one through. jeonghan scoffed and stomped back to his blanket with jinsoul, who was extremely proud of herself and the other shippers™.
step two was another success.
❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀
the day was almost over, and everyone was gathered in the large field next to the lake for the first movie night of the summer. you and jeonghan were sitting together, as you usually do when he isn’t sitting with his cabin, who usually end up cuddling during the movie. jihoon hates it, but then soonyoung joins and he hates it a little more (less ;). but tonight, someone was missing from that group. as he had been all day, seungkwan was scheming. it was the last step of the day, and the most simple one. minghao had brought to everyone’s attention that you were a messy eater when it came to ice cream, and jeonghan was extremely neat. as soon as he said this, the entire group understood exactly what he was referring to. so jun had an ice cream sandwich he had brought to you, and the only other thing they had to do was sit back and watch.
you had just opened and bit into the sandwich, eyes on the movie in front of you as you leaned back against jeonghan’s chest. after a few minutes, you had finished all of the treat and you sat up, looking back at the light-haired boy and smiling. he rolled his eyes and pointed to your lips.
“you are such a messy eater.” you reached up to wipe it off before he caught your hand and lowered it down again, “don’t. i’ve got it.” jeonghan looked down at your lips as he reached up and swiped his thumb across the bottom one, collecting the ice cream off of it onto his thumb. he stuck the tip of his thumb in his mouth, licking the melted sugar off of it. you looked down to the ground before he could see you blushing. he chuckled and pulled you back into his chest.
“you’re so mean,” you whined, elbowing him in the stomach.
“you know what i’m curious about?” he asked.
“what?”
“what happens when one of us starts dating. the two of us are so close, our partner would probably be uncomfortable with us always cuddling like this and stuff.” your heart sank at the thought of jeonghan dating someone else.
“i guess we just wouldn’t be around each other as much. why do you ask? do you like someone?” you knew you were just being hopeful in asking this, but you still had to try.
“i was just wondering. and no, i don’t like anyone. do you,” he asked, looking down at you.
“yeah, a little.”
“who?”
“don’t worry about it.”
“tell me who it is.”
“jeonghan, i said don’t worry about it!” you raised your voice at him, sitting up and glaring into his eyes.
“i’m your best friend, i have a right to know!” that’s what set you off. you shot up, throwing the blanket you had over your legs to the ground.
“i don’t have to tell you every little thing about my life just because you’re my best friend! there are some things i just want to keep to myself and you need to understand that. you’re so fucking overbearing and you have no reason to be. i’m my own person, i don’t belong to you. i’m not your girlfriend, i’m not your child, and i’m not your little sister. until you figure out how to be a best friend the right way, stay the hell away from me, you piece of shit.” you turned and sprinted towards your cabin, wiping tears from your eyes. you didn’t really know what you had just done.
❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀
“well that didn’t work out,” jungeun sighed.
“no shit, sherlock,” seungkwan spat sarcastically.
“what are we gonna do?” jinsoul asked worriedly. seungkwan shook his head and shrugged.
“i have no idea. but i do know one thing.”
“what’s that?”
“step three was a total failure.”

OUR MIDNIGHT
Pairing: OC X Han Jisung Word Count: 12k+ Genre: Fluff, Romance, Dance AU
[FIRST PERSON PERSPECTIVE]
My mother was not a smart lady nor was she one that was respected by many. People often looked down at the ragged clothing of hers whenever she was on the streets selling bread. However, she was the one who taught me many things that I needed in life more than what the schools could offer. When I first started working at the age of 16, she only gave me one advice without a look of concern or worry in her eyes: ‘If anyone dares try to hit on you, tell them that you have plastic surgery’. The 16 year old me would look at my mother as if she was crazy but after some tries, it did work like a charm! It was very helpful indeed for the next two years, especially since I started working at a small café near a university where male teenagers or young adults would visit often. It did work well, but no plan can ever succeed without a tiny flaw, and that was also how I met him.
It was a quiet Monday evening, finally ending the first week of working at the café. My job was easy in the evening since many people have ended school and have headed home or to the Internet cafes to play games. The café was partially empty, with only a couple of students huddling together to study quietly amongst themselves.
Since there were not many customers, instead of making coffees, I was cleaning the tables until I heard a quiet ring of the bell hanging just above the door to notify me that a customer had entered. I paused at my place and immediately headed to the counter to take the customer’s order on cue.
“Hello, welcome to Heaven’s café,” I greeted with a small smile as I looked up, seeing my customer for the first time. He was a boy around my age. His face was hidden behind a black cap, a black disposable mask and a pair of round thin gold-framed glasses. He was wearing a white t-shirt paired with a black leather jacket and black pants. “What would you like to order?”
The boy looked down at the menu and glanced at me. His brown eyes made a short eye contact with me before pointing to a beverage on the menu. “A tall iced Americano, please,” he replied. His voice was a little husky. I gave him another smile before noting down the order onto the register.
“One tall ice Americano,” I repeated. “That will be 3,000 won.” The boy nodded his head before handing me the money from his pocket. I quickly placed the money into the cash register and handed him the receipt. “Thank you. Please take a seat and wait while I get you your drink ready immediately.” I turned around to start making his coffee, filling the café once again with the bitter yet amazing aroma of the fresh coffee beans. It did not take long for me to finally make the cup of Americano and headed to the table that the boy was seated at. I made my way to the corner right of the café that was hidden away from many people’s eyes and settled the coffee in front of him with a smile. “There you go,” I said before turning around.
“Are you new here?” The husky voice asked, causing me to halt at my feet. I turned around and raised my eyebrow at the mysterious looking boy. “I haven’t seen you before,” he explained.
“Yes,” I replied carefully. “I just started a week ago.” “That’s why…” he replied with a nod. “You caught my eye for a moment.”
I raised my eyebrows. Was this a sign of flirting? I asked myself before deciding on my new response. “I had plastic surgery,” I cut in immediately, using my mom’s advice, which now forced him to look confused.
He stared hard at me for a couple of seconds, unhinged by my response before finally breaking down into a laugh. “What are you trying to say? Is… is this perhaps your way of rejecting guys that hit on you?”
My face reddened a little when he realized my method. I nodded my head reluctantly. “Yes,” I whispered.
“That’s a very interesting way of rejecting guys, I have to admit it but don’t worry, I was just curious because this café is the one that I normally visit,” the boy said. His voice sounded muffled through the mask.
“My mom taught me that,” I explained. “She’s nothing much but she is my role model.”
“Then I respect her,” the boy smiled. His eyes bent into crescents. It actually looked adorable on him.
“Me too,” I nodded my head, suddenly sadden as I thought of her but the sadness vanished almost immediately as I faced him. “But why would you ask? I didn’t know any customers that were interested in knowing the staffs.”
He gave me a quiet smile without saying anything. I glanced at him for a moment, observing him, and then the clothes he wore. I opened my mouth, almost regretting the words that came out of my lips. “But since… I told you a little about myself, let’s hear a little about you then. What’s with the mask and the… cover up?”
“I only asked you if you were new,” the boy laughed. “But I should return the favor then. However, if I told you, you might get shocked.” “Why?” I raised my eyebrow. “Are you… some kind of celebrity or something?”
Now it was his turn to raise his eyebrow. “How did you know?” He asked, finally pulling down his mask to reveal his face. His cheeks puffed up as he spoke. I shrugged my shoulders.
“I have… a way with things,” I replied shortly. Looking at him made me smile a lot because god, he was actually really good looking. His smile made his eyes brighten up.
“My name’s Han,” the boy finally introduced himself.
“Han? I’m Miyeon,” I replied with another smile. “Would I be seeing you anywhere on the news soon, Mr. Celebrity?”
He chuckled before shrugging. “Who knows,” he smiled and looked down at his fingers before slipping a ring out of his index finger, placing it on the table. “Well, let me know if you finally see me on the news.” He stood up with his drink and started to walk away.
“Your ring!” I stared at the ring and then back at him.
“Give it back to me once you see and know me,” he smiled and winked at me before disappearing through the doors. I wrapped my hand around the silver ring and stared at it, sighing. I was not even sure if there were any chance of me ever meeting him again.
-
I normally worked at the café every other day except for Sunday. During the weekdays, the working hours for me started at 4pm, an hour right after I finished school- that was enough time to fetch my brother from my neighbors whom kindly offered to pick my brother up from primary school back home- until about 11pm. Monday and Friday were the only days that I was able to finish work at about 7pm so I was able to do my own personal matters and that was mostly dancing. A few weeks ago, before I have even worked at the café, I had always enjoyed dancing and when one of my friends introduced me to this major dance competition, I thought it was finally a chance to live for what I loved and joined the competition. So the two days were always the only days including half the day of Sunday to practice.
However, after the meeting with the mysterious man, my mind was so distracted- filled with curiosity about Han- that it lead to me completely missing the appointed time with my dance partner by an hour. I cursed at myself once I finally looked at the clock, the first time I ever looked away from the silver ring in my hands. I quickly headed back to the staffs’ resting room and grabbed my bag from my locker before dashing out to the dance studio.
It took me about twenty minutes to reach the dance studio after spending the rest of my remaining energy running for my life. I took two steps at a time up the stairs to the second floor of one of the many blocks and barged through the glass doors of the dance studio’s entrance.
The receptionist tilted her head slightly at the door and nodded her head in acknowledgement when she saw me. She pointed at the corridor to her left side. “He’s waiting for you in studio 5. What happened today, Miyeon? You’re usually not late at all.”
“I got carried away by accident,” I explained, trying to catch my breath as I dashed past the receptionist to the studio that she had mention. “Thanks a lot, Miss Jang!”
As soon as I reached the dance studio, I pushed opened the wooden brown door that opened up to a gigantic space. Lights were lit everywhere in the room, making everything brighter. The large mirror that was on the opposite of the door reflected all the light illuminated and in the middle of the room, a boy about a year or two older than me sat on the polished wood floor.
The boy looked up from the ground to see me through the mirror. His hair was wet from the sweat and it covered his eyes, making his expression unidentifiable. “You’re late,” his voice echoed across the room. “What happened?”
“Sorry,” I tried to smile weakly as I closed the door behind him. “I… I got carried away.” The boy pushed his black hair away from his face and gave me a smile.
“It’s okay, Miyeon. I get it,” he explained. “You must still be thinking how being late might affect me since I have a tight schedule but don’t worry. Mondays, Fridays and Sundays are always dedicated to our dance practices no matter what my group has to do.”
“Thank you so much for understanding, Minho,” I said gratefully. “I just… feel bad for stealing you away from your group and your members.”
“Stray Kids can live even for a few hours without me,” Minho grinned before standing up. “And while you weren’t here, I took the initiative to order food for you because I have a feeling that you have not eaten.”
I smiled at my friend. Lee Minho had been my childhood friend ever since I was about 6 and him about 8. We met one another in a dance camp and we instantly clicked together as soon as we were placed in the same group. I watched him grew as he watched me grew as well. I knew how important dance was to him. He had gotten into a career out of dance, starting from being the backup dancer for BTS to breaking out of his shell to becoming a trainee of JYP. It had been so hard for him. He had been pushed down onto the ground and had spent his time at the lowest during the period of time but he remained strong and stayed determined and alas, finally debuting into his group: Stray Kids.
I did not knew Stray Kids well enough but from what Minho had told me, they seem to be really supportive for one another and have a lot of passion in what they did, which I truly respected. They were all so close that they treated one another as family members instead of just colleagues or friends, and that was definitely one of the beauty I saw in the group; they were able to sacrifice anything just to help their family.
I glanced at Minho’s face and smiled before looking at the food he had order. The floor was covered in different delicacies ranging from street food to restaurant-made, all which were my all-time favorites. “You didn’t have to,” I blushed. “You could’ve just gotten me a convenient store sandwich and I’ll be satisfied, happy and full!” I pouted.
“And make sure you’re malnutrition? Not on my watch, sister,” Minho said, earning a laugh from me.
“But how can we finish all of these food? You should’ve brought Jisung along! Did you not say that he couldn’t live without you? And from what I have heard from you, he loves to eat,” I giggled.
I have never met any of Minho’s members but I could grasp their personalities and characteristics just by hearing Minho’s stories about them. “Well, it’s true that he can’t live without me but I shouldn’t bring him here since today’s the day for just the two of us,” he wiggled his eyebrows at me, making me burst into laughter.
“Stop it!” I tried to stop myself from laughing more.
“You stop it! Hurry up! Finish the food and let’s get dancing already,” Minho rolled his eyes before pushing me onto the ground, in front of all the food.
“And vomit on the floor from eating too much and doing too much excessive exercises?” I raised my eyebrow again before earning a punch on my shoulder from the latter.
-
The days passed by very quickly as work and school started to pile higher, but there were no signs of the mysterious man. He stopped visiting the café and I realized I was starting to think of him more and more, so much more that it overtook my mind. I remembered every detail of his face, from his soft crescent shaped eyes that sparkled whenever he smiled, his smile that made his cheeks puffed up to look like a squirrel to his silky blond hair that was hidden behind the black cap. Everything about him was so interesting that I started to crave wanting to know him more. And because of that, I was late to the dance studio again.
I was dashing through the busy crowd at 7pm. Everyone was heading in different directions: some heading home from work, some hanging out with friends and many just returning from their tuition centers. “Excuse me,” I repeated as I swiftly passed many bodies crossing past me, trying not to bump into anyone. It was going rather smoothly, until I just had to hit someone’s shoulders really hardly. “Whoa!” I said, trying to remain calm as I stopped on my steps. “I am so sorry. I really did not see you and it is completely my fault-“
“It’s okay,” the person replied quietly. His grey cap was covering his eyes from my view so I could not see his face. His voice sounded familiar but I was unable to grasp it quick enough when he started to walk away and people started to fill up the empty space that he had left. But alas, he was completely out of my view and that was when I remembered that I was also rushing to somewhere as well.
It took me approximately 10 minutes to reach the dance studio quickly. I was completely out of breath when my hands touched the glass doors that lead into the dance studio. Minho had constantly called my phone to make sure that I was arriving, which was very rare. “I’m here, I’m here,” I chattered really quickly as soon as my phone rested on my ear for the nth time today, opening the door to the receptionist and giving a nod at Miss Jang who kindly pointed to the dance studio Minho was in.
“Hurry! I don’t think Jaemyeon wants to be with me,” Minho groaned at the other end of the call as I finally reached the dance studio and pushed the door opened, revealing Minho with a small boy clinging onto him. Minho turned to look at me and mouthed at me. “Get him off me!”
I ended the call and slipped my phone into my pocket before crouching a little and opened my arms. “Hey there little monster!” I smiled as I looked at the boy next to Minho. The boy turned around quickly and grinned as well, finally releasing his grip on the desperate looking Minho and ran straight to me, giving me a hug.
“Where were you, noona?” My little brother asked. His grip in the embrace remained firm. “I missed you.”
“Did Minho hyung not treat you well?” I raised my eyebrow, looking at the older boy who was looking awkwardly at our short embrace.
“Hyung didn’t want to play with me!” He pouted, now looking at me. “All hyung wanted to do was to come here and wait for you!”
I laughed and patted my little brother’s head. “But he did fetch you from school, right? And also feed you, right?” I asked him and he pouted again.
“Fine! But I thought that I was going to be a boring kid if I become quiet,” Jaemyeon explained.
“Well, I rather you be a boring kid than be an exhausting kid,” Minho commented, walking to us now. He looked at me before awkwardly patting my brother’s head. “And since we’ll… be busy dancing, I brought one of my members along so that Jaemyeon here can be cared for and might also give us some comments for our dance.”
I raised my eyebrow. Minho had never ever introduced me to his members ever since he entered the company so it was weird that he wanted to show me them out of nowhere.
“Who is it?” I grinned. “Is it Chris? Is it Woojin? Oh! Is he Jeongin? You know maybe Jeongin is good with my brother since he has a little brother as well-“
“No, no,” Minho cut in, laughing. “It’s someone I’m sure that will take great care of Jaemyeon. So great that he can get a certificate for being one of the best ‘nannies’ on this world! And currently, he’s buying food for Jaemyeon since this little monster says he’s starving- don’t worry! I did feed him a couple of hours ago!”
“Don’t say it’s Changbin!” I took another guess. “Or would it b-“
“It’s me,” someone interrupted our conversation. I paused; startled at the sudden voice before turning around to find the same grey cap man I had bumped into. He held up the bags of food he was holding. “And I got food.”
-
I swear, at that moment, my entire muscles tensed up and my mind went blank. The moment my eyes finally met his eyes under the gray cap, I did not thought that it was possible that I finally met him once again.
“Han?” The name slipped from my lips before I could stop myself.
The boy gave me a tiny smile and nodded his head. “I see we meet again.”
“You two know one another?” Minho interrupted quickly, barging into the space between the both of us, turning to Han first. “Jisung, why on earth did you not tell me you know Miyeon?” And turned to me. “And you, Baek Miyeon, why was I unaware that you have befriended Jisung.”
“Wait,” I cut in. “Jisung? Isn’t this Han? He said his name is Han. Are you sure that’s not the boy you always mentioned about? Are you hallucinating?”
Minho raised his eyebrow at the other boy. “Did you really have to tell everyone your stage name?”
“Why not,” the other boy asked. “I thought it was easier to remember than Jisung.”
“Wait, so Jisung and Han are the same person?” I commented looking more confused than I was ever once again.
Jisung raised his arms and looked at me with a smile. “That’s me!” He said. “And yes, I had no idea you were the girl Minho mentions everyday but it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“Jisung hyung!” The tiny voice that I had forgotten about erupted from behind me. The small figure rushed past me, heading straight into Jisung’s embrace. “You’re finally back!” Jisung laughed and ruffled Jaemyeon’s head before touching his nose softly.
“I was gone for only five minutes, did you miss me that much?” Jaemyeon glanced at Minho quickly before turning back to Jisung.
“Yes,” he said extremely quietly, earning another chuckle from the older boy and a protest from Minho.
“Now, let’s go eat your food at the back of the studio shall we, Jaemyeon? While we watch your noona and Minho hyung?” Jisung gently lead the small boy across the room to the back where they settled quietly and started eating. Minho glanced at me.
“Ready?” He asked, heading to the speakers and pressed the play button. And in a couple of seconds, the soft melody of our song started to play.
I looked up from the ground… to see your sad and teary eyes…
I quickly got into character as Minho approached me from behind and lifted my head up gently as his hand brushed past the space under my eyes before spinning me around to face him. Our steps moving in sync with one another as the next lyrics were sang.
You look away from me and I see there’s something you’re trying to hide…
My eyes quickly diverged from Minho’s, trying to look away. My legs dropped and he caught me by my arms and before spinning me around for the second time again. Our moves became more and more fluid, moving together as one and understanding one another’s feelings throughout the entire dance routine. I forgot everything around me, and was only focused on the boy in front of me as we moved and controlled our bodies to tell our story using the song.
The dance soon ended quickly as the melody started to slow down and down… and finally the last lyrics were sung.
It’ll… be alright…
Minho held my hand. His grip on mine loosened as I pulled away, walking away from him. The silent remained for a couple of moments before I heard applause coming from our two audiences that I had completely forgotten about.
“Bravo!” My little brother cheered as he started jumping up and down in joy. Minho approached behind me and trapped me into his embrace as he leaned his head onto my shoulders, all sweaty.
“Was it that good, kiddo?” He winked at the little boy.
“Ew, get away from me, Lee Minho! You’re sweaty!” I gasped as the sweat from his face dripped down slowly. I tried to escape his grasp but he refused to budge.
“How was it, Jisung?” Minho now diverged his attention to his friend who was still seated. I could see a slight smile from the latter.
“It’s… It’s great,” he replied quietly.
Minho grinned and turned me around, shaking me by grabbing my shoulders. “Yes! We have our perfect routine!” Minho cheered before enveloping me into a hug. “But as you know, we have to keep on practicing in order to make this work! We only have… how many more days?”
“Seven…” Jisung replied instead of me. My eyes widen when I realized how close the competition was from us now.
“A-are you sure?” I looked at the eyes beneath the gray cap. I could not read his emotionless face as he nodded quietly.
“Oh god,” Minho dragged me to the middle of the dance floor again. “We have to continue practicing and practicing if we were to win this entire thing.” I rolled my eyes at the energetic older boy, unable to protest as the music started to play again and I was drawn back into the world between the both of us, not realizing the audience that had remained there with us.
-
It was already midnight by the time we finally finished our dance practice. My legs were sore and I was panting. Sweat was dripping down from both Minho and I.
“Noona… are you done now?” A drowsy voice called me and I realized that my brother was still with us. “I…. I’m… I’m sleepy.”
“Myeon-nie!” I called out as the tiny boy came into my arms and wrapped his arms around my neck. “I’m so sorry! I forgot that you were here with me and how fast the time has flied!” I carried him in my arms and turned to Minho who nodded at me.
“Go now,” he said as he handed me my bag. “I’ll just hang in here for a while more.” I quickly slipped my bag onto my shoulders while carrying my sleepy brother and quickly headed out of the dance room, not realizing someone was following me until he spoke aloud.
“Are you going to go home alone?” The voice made me stop. I turned around to find Jisung looking at me quietly from the practice room’s door.
“I have my brother along. So I’m not alone,” I replied with a soft smile.
“Well, I’m not leaving the two of you alone to go back home. I’m following you,” Jisung said, approaching me as he carefully removed Jaemyeon from my arms and securely carrying him in his arms. “Let’s go,” he motioned me in his low voice as he started to walk down.
“Where are you going? You don’t even know my house!” I called after him. “What about Minho?”
“Then lead the way and… he’ll be fine,” he replied without looking back. I rolled my eyes and quickly caught up to the duo as the three of us took off through the darkened outside.
-
The journey way back home was quiet. Except for the rustling leaves that fluttered along with the wind, everything was still and silent. Our footsteps echoed along the concrete ground as we walked through the once busied streets of many stores. The way back usually took about 15 minutes from the dance studio but walking along with the once mysterious man made it thrice the time longer. My hands would play with themselves under the sleeves of my jacket out of awkwardness.
“Are you cold?” Jisung’s voice spoke out, breaking the silence between the both of us. I looked to my right to see his handsome face hidden under a black mask. “Your hands have been twitching ever since we exited the studio.”
Oh snap. He noticed as well, I thought, mentally smacking myself. “No,” I replied softly. “It’s not even freezing-“
“In the middle of December, yeah right,” Jisung cut in. Before I knew it, he removed my hand from my other hand and grabbed it in-between his large free hand that was not holding Jaemyeon. “You lied. Your hand is freezing.”
“It is?” I raised my eyebrow as I quickly removed my hand from his. I could feel heat rising up to my cheeks as I diverted my attention from him. “I… I didn’t… know that.”
“Do you mind taking my hot pack?” Jisung suggested, searching for his before handing it to me.
“Why would you even have a hot pack with you?” I asked before taking it quickly, placing the small pack in between my hands.
“Minho gets cold easily so I would carry one for him at all times despite the weather or the season we are in,” Jisung explained. “But he hasn’t been asking me because… maybe you have been the one supplying him with the hot packs?”
I grinned. “You’re absolutely correct but unfortunately, I forgot to bring one today.”
“You know, we share a lot of things in common because of that one guy,” Jisung suddenly changed the subject as the two of us continued walking down the street. He turned to look at me before focusing back onto the road. “You were basically the only person he talked about to us and… I admired you from the way he talked about you.”
“What did he say… so highly about me?” I raised my eyebrow.
“Nothing much, just how pretty you are and how talented you are,” Jisung chuckled. “And after seeing you for the first time, I actually agree with him.”
“I plead to object. How am I pretty and how am I talented?” I asked.
“And I decline your objection. You only see yourself with all your flaws,” Jisung explained. “And you shouldn’t, because you wouldn’t realize how amazing and beautiful you look. No matter what everyone tells you, you would only say negatively about yourself.”
“Like how you thought yourself as the most handsome until Hyunjin showed up?” I asked with a chuckle.
“Don’t tell me he told you that too,” he groaned before bursting into laughter. “But well, that’s an example! Be true to yourself no matter what.”
“But I do agree with you. You are handsome,” I smiled.
“Don’t I agree with myself too,” he commented with a nod, earning a groan and an eye roll from me. Our short conversation ended shortly as we continued to walk down the street. We passed many shops and restaurant and finally reaching a big park where he spoke again. “And you are talented you know…”
“How so?” I asked quietly.
“You can dance… you can… bake… you are a role model, you know that too? You take care of your brother while managing to balance between school and work,” he said. “Gosh, you can even rap.”
I groaned at that immediately as my face reddened for the second time. “Did… did Lee Minho secretly recorded me again?”
“With video… but your entire face was blocked,” Jisung added. “But you are good at rapping and acting as if you were on show me the money.”
“How about you, Mister Han? Don’t think Minho didn’t boost about you to me too,” I interjected. “I can even write a book about all the things you’re good at.”
“Let’s hear about them then, shall we?” Jisung challenged me with a chuckle.
I smirked. “Let’s see…” I started to think, looking at Jisung now. “You are good at rapping, GREAT at singing. God, you can literally sing the highest note I have ever heard of, you write your own songs and you have such a great cute smile-“
“I don’t think that’s something I’m good at but I’ll just take it,” he commented.
“I’m not done yet!” I pouted. “You’re also great at dancing and giving the best fan service with Minho. You also work nonstop and left your family just to train to be in Stray Kids and you are also the most awkward squirrel that drinks coffee I’ve ever known.”
“And maybe the only awkward squirrel you will ever know,” he cut in.
I rolled my eyes again and nodded my head. “Yeah, you’re correct,” I said.
“And is there anymore?” He asked, finally pulling his mask down to show me his puffed up cheeks.
“Your puffy cheeks?” I raised my eyebrow. He chuckled before pulling his mask up to cover his face again. I did not even know how much the time had passed after our second mini conversation until we reached a tall building. “Oh…” I drifted off. “We’re… here.” I turned to Jisung and motioned him to let me carry Jaemyeon now but he refused to budge. “I can bring him inside myself now.”
“No. How are you going to open the door while holding a kid? You’re going to wake him up.”
“I did it a lot of times before-“ I tried to say but was cut off by Jisung again.
“Let’s go up now!” He said stubbornly before entering the building. I stared after him and smiled softly.
“Wrong entrance!” I shouted after him before entering the apartment through the correct entrance with him trailing behind me as well.
We quickly entered the elevator to the fifth floor and reached the front of my apartment. I tried my best to allow myself to carry my brother but as Minho had said, Han Jisung definitely was very stubborn. So, I had to open the door so he could settle my brother into his bed in his room. He took off my brother’s shoes and tucked him nicely into his bed as I watched from the doorway. I was impressed at how familiar he was to do all those.
Once he was done, he exited Jaemyeon’s room. I smiled at him as he walked up to me. “How do you know to do all these?” I asked in a whisper. He raised his eyebrow in confusion. “I don’t see many people knowing how to settle a kid quietly into bed, but here you are, doing something else you’re good at.” He chuckled.
“My older brother settles me into bed like that as well… and maybe just because I always wanted to try being the older brother for once.”
“I’m impressed. Very impressed,” I commented before walking with him to the front door. “Well, thank you for today. Thank you for taking your time to walk my brother and I back to our home and for finally meeting you after so long. It has been long overdue.”
He grinned. “I’m just glad I was able to help. It was actually fun to talk you. Let’s be friends, shall we?”
“Aren’t we already friends?” I asked with a laugh. “I never know spending a midnight walking with you could be that fun.”
“Then let’s continue our midnight adventures, shall we?” He suggested.
I nodded and smile. “We shall.” With that, he waved at me and bid me a goodnight as he entered the elevator down and I closed the door behind me. However, the smile that was plastered on my face melted off as I remembered the one thing that I forgot to return to him.
The ring.
-
Jisung was nowhere to be in sight for the next few days, but there was no time for me to think about him anymore as the date for the dance competition neared. Minho unfortunately at that time was having a comeback so he got more busier that he was unable to make it to the dance studio, so instead, we spent the rest of our remaining time at the JYP building.
It was the third last day before the competition and I was getting a lot tenser. Minho was long gone from the vacant practice room that we had found since he was all tired from promoting and I was left all alone in the room, dancing and sweating profusely. I had long switched off the music to the song the both of us were dancing to and my sneakers squeaked across the polished floor, trying to rehearse through all the steps that I had went through with Minho, but it was too tiring.
Instead, I flopped onto the ground and quickly rubbed my sweat away from my face as I stared myself in the mirror in front of me. Reflecting from the other side was a sweaty little girl with her straight hair tied into two braids, her baby hairs stuck to her face but she did not seem to care. I crawled my way to a corner where my bag was sitting and grabbed my water bottle, gulping down the water quickly before fetching my phone out from the small purple bag.
I switched the phone on and the screen illuminated before me. 12am, my phone read. I quickly slipped it back into bag and stood up, walking back to the speakers where the song was supposed to be played. I was supposed to switch the song on but I had soon forgotten when another song attracted me. It was not coming out from the speakers in the practice room I was in. Instead, it was coming from a neighboring studio.
I took a step towards the door but stopped. Was it a good idea to check on the sound? Or was it safer to stay in the practice room instead? I asked myself, my inner self debating against one another. I was curious because the melody was so catchy and it attracted me a lot, but the only thing that was refraining me from going was the warning from the staff to not loiter around the building.
I took a deep breath before making my mind up immediately. I pushed the glass door open so I could slip out. Making sure there was no one around, I quickly darted around the corridor to look for the room the sweet melody was coming from and it took me no time to identify where it came from since there were less rooms on the corridor.
My head peeped a little to look into the glass door that was blocked by a long curtain. I could not see anything, so I tried to press my ear through the thick glass panel to only have the door swing open since it was not properly shut.
“Ah!” I screamed as I fell onto the ground. I closed my eyes and slowly regretted making my decision for coming after the sound. I realized that whoever was in the room realized that I was there as the melody they were playing stopped. “I’m sorry!” I immediately apologized as I stood up, my head hung down, trying to avoid eye contact.
“Miyeon?” The familiar voice that I had missed entered my ears. “What are you doing at this hour? Especially at JYP?”
“Jisung?” I lifted my head to find the same boy that I had met twice at the café and at the dance studio, sitting in front of a lot of computers staring at me. Unlike both time where he had a cap on and a mask that covered his face, he was sitting in front of me barefaced, his blond hair messy. He was so adorable I swear it could make my heart drop at that very moment immediately.
“Hi there,” he greeted me with a tired smile. “You haven’t answer my question yet but please do close the door before you answer.”
I quickly and quietly closed the door behind me and sat on the couch next to the door. “I… Minho couldn’t make it to the dance studio anymore so we decided to come here to make it easier for him, but he left and I decided to stay a little longer to practice.”
“It’s midnight already, you know. How long have you been practicing?” Jisung asked growing concerned slowly.
“Not long… I started at… 5pm,” I replied quietly.
“That’s 7 hours. Aren’t you tired?” Jisung commented, earning a shake from me. He sighed. “You have to rest, Miyeon. How are you functioning without rest?”
“I could ask you the same thing, Han Jisung,” I added in. “Why are you working now?”
He gave me a weak smile and ruffled his hair. “I was suppose to finish this a couple of hours but I fell asleep so now’s the best time for me to complete it.”
“And not get any sleep? Don’t you dare pull a Bang Chan,” I warned. “What are you even working on?”
“Nothing much… just some lyrics to this song,” he rubbed his eyes and tried to cover his yawn. “How did you even know I was here anyways?”
“You left the door ajar and the melody really captured my ears… so maybe, after seeing you here, I was thinking that I can… help you?” I suggested.
“I would appreciate all the help I can get since I’m stuck,” Jisung nodded his head. “I’ll just play you the track first and maybe you might have an idea?” He quickly pressed the play button and the song started to play. It was soft before it started to become more upbeat and happier. The song finished quickly and I was unable to hide my amusement at the boy in front of me after the end of it.
“Did…did you make that track yourself?” I asked. “Because that was amazing.”
“It’s… my first time,” he answered, feeling a little shy after saying that. “I was no sure if it was something that the company would want but-“
“Jisung, just try,” I smiled. “I love it and if I do, I’m sure everyone else would do too. Let’s get started shall we? What are we focusing on?”
“Thanks… for giving me such support, Miyeon,” he beamed. “I’m writing based on my real life experience.”
“What is it about?” I asked.
I could see his face flushed a bright red but he moved away so I could not see his face anymore. “It’s about something I never knew I would feel until a few weeks ago.”
“And that is?”
“Love,” he answered quietly. “I want to write my feelings down about this girl I have been thinking about.”
“Oh…” my face soon darkened without me realizing. I could feel my heart starting to beat slower and slower. “That’s… that’s great. I’m so glad someone was able to make you feel that way.” I refused to look into his eyes as I walked up to him, facing his computer. “Let’s get started shall we?”
For the next couple of hours, I started to share my ideas with him about how I felt and expressed love. I knew whatever I was telling him about was actually based on him. I did not know that as the time went past by us, the more I would become more intrigued in the boy sitting next to me. I never knew my heart would start beating quickly whenever I glanced up to look into his focused face… until now as he sat in front of me, talking about his feelings that I knew were never meant for me. But, we were done with the lyrics after these few hours that we had shared.
“And… we’re done!” Jisung smiled as he clapped his hands together. He reached over and patted my head, out of my surprise, still holding his smile. “Thank you for your hard work today, Miyeon.”
“I’m glad I could help,” I replied quietly. “But what are you going to do with it next? You can’t keep it in here forever! You need to let others know and acknowledge your skills and talent.”
“That’s a bit too fast, especially since it might sound crazy if I sang the song alone… unless, you want to join me?” Jisung suggested.
My eyes widen and I shook my head quickly. “No way, Han Jisung! Have you forgot how horrible my voice is?”
“And have you forgot not to doubt yourself?” He replied back with a small smile. “Come on, Miyeon! Just try it… for me? Once? I bet no one can convey the message in the song as well as you since it is also based on your own experience.” He wriggled his eyebrow at me. “Right?”
I could not help but burst out laughing. “I don’t help but for you… fine… only this once,” I said before earning a smile from him.
He jumped up from his chair and wrapped me in his arms, hugging me as tight as he could. “Thank you, thank you, thank you! Let’s head into the recording room now!” He wrapped his fingers around my wrist as he pulled away, dragging me along with him through another door that lead into another small room.
There was a microphone and a pair of earphones in the center of the room, and in front was the glass door that showed the room we were in. He carefully placed the earphones over my ears and lowered the microphone just so I could reach it.
“Heh, you’re short,” he commented with another smile before exiting the room, avoiding my stare. He quickly slipped onto the chair that he had sat and spoke into another microphone just in front of him. “Mic test. Are you ready, Baek Miyeon?” He spoke in a low voice that made me giggle.
“Whenever you’re ready,” I replied just as the sweet melody that I had remembered exactly from a few hours ago entered into my ears. I closed my eyes and parted my lips open as the words flowed out of my mouth fluidly, and I finally sang.
-
The song ended quickly and before I knew it, I heard applause coming from the other side of the room. “Bravo, Miyeon!” Jisung started clapping quickly with a smile plastered on his face. “Your voice is a gift itself!”
“Are you sure I don’t need a retake?” I asked the beaming boy that started coming into the room to envelop me into another hug, crushing me. I gasped for air and he immediately released his grip on me.
“A retake? I suddenly don’t remember this word after hearing your voice,” Jisung replied. I rolled my eyes and smiled at him too. Looking at him closer made my heart beat faster and faster than I realized. I was staring into his eyes, and his smile. He was just too perfect, but he was in love with someone else. I quickly diverted my gaze from him and took a step back.
“I… I’m flattered,” I stammered. “Thanks… for giving me your support.”
“And thank you for agreeing to sing with me,” he answered, still keeping the smile on his face. “Your voice… you shouldn’t keep it from everyone.”
“I can say the same about this song,” I replied before smiling softly as well. “Thanks for allowing me to help you with the song…” I drifted off as I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I glanced at Jisung who realized the situation, remaining silent. “Hello?” I placed my phone onto my ear.
“Noon…Noona? Where are… you?” A drowsy voice greeted me from the other end. “Are… are you not back yet?”
Oh no! I mentally scolded myself. “H-hey Jaemyeon, noona will be home soon! Go back to sleep, okay?” I tried to keep my facial expression blank but hearing my little brother’s voice made me concerned. I quickly ended the call and shoved my phone into my pocket once again. “I’m sorry, Jisung,” I apologized. “I have to go now, I forgot I-I left Jaemyeon alone at home. How long have I been here?”
Jisung glanced at his phone. “Three hours,” he said as I started to walk out of the room we were in to the practice studio where my bag was, with him tailing behind me. “I-I can accompany you home.”
“Jisung, you’re too kind already,” I turned around to face him, not realizing how close we were standing next to one another now, so I took a step back. “But you have been awake since… maybe 5am and I don’t know how you’re still functioning but please, go back to your dorm instead and rest instead of accompanying me or staying up late again to record it.” I placed my hands onto his shoulder and gave him another smile. “Han Jisung, you’re one of the most hard working person I know and I would hate to see you tired and not resting at all.”
He kept quiet as soon as I finished what I wanted to say. He tried to read my expression but soon retired. “Fine,” he sighed with a pout. “I… I’ll go back home to rest… just for you.”
I smiled before wrapping my arms around his neck to pull him into another hug. I had to tiptoe to reach his neck. “Thank you,” I whispered. “And I’m still sweaty.”
He chuckled. “It’s fine by me. Thanks for spending another midnight with me.”
“It’s always my pleasure,” I replied before walking to the door, turning around to look back at Jisung who was still standing there. “I shall see you again.”
-
How time flew fast. It was finally the last day before the dance competition, and being the stubborn person I was, I decided to stay back in the practice studio after the promised hours set by Minho and I. This time, Jaemyeon was staying with Minho and his members for a while so I did not have to worry about anything as I continued to practice and rehearse. It was already 11:45pm when I rehearsed the dance moves for the tenth time. It was frustrating; to dance to the same song over and over again but it was annoying to constantly get it wrong when your partner is not present.
“God! Why do I always need Minho here to get this move correct?” I groaned, sitting on the floor now. I wanted to give up but I knew it was never an opinion.
“Why would you need Minho? Minho’s mine, you know,” the same familiar voice that I could recognize from far away asked. I shifted my body so I was facing Jisung. This time, he was wearing a red flannel over his plain white shirt with a pair of black jeans. His blond hair was parted in the middle.
“To dance?” I rolled my eyes, brushing my hair to the back of my head as I groaned again. “I don’t even know why my arm is in a weird angle whenever I try to practice alone.” I pouted and covered my face in my hair in frustration. I could feel his footsteps coming closer to me but I refused to move. They died as soon as he stopped right in front of me and crouched down so he could see me eye to eye.
“Hey,” he released the grip of my hands to my hair and pushed my chin up so I was looking at him. “You know, I can help you if you want.”
“It’s not that easy,” I replied with a pout. “Well, I wished it was that easy…”
“Hey! If you helping me with the recording was considered hard, then dancing with you will be a lot more easier!” Jisung argued.
“How is it easier? There’s too many moves… and you can’t even remember them at all,” I pouted.
“Ah… I see you have forgot that I am Han Jisung, the best friend of Lee Minho. Do you think he doesn’t practice in the dorms without you? Well, he does. He uses me as you and explained the dance to me so I would move as ‘fluid’ as you would,” he groaned as he remembered what he had done. “And not to forget, all the times I’ve watched the two of you dance. I think it’ll be easy!”
“Well, why didn’t you say so?” I asked him, now beaming. He chuckled and pulled me up from the ground. “Let’s get dancing now shall we?” And it did help.
Dancing with Jisung for only one time immediately made me realized my mistake compared to the multiple times I had tried alone. And it did surprise me, how good he was at dancing and at knowing the steps to the entire routine just from our one dance.
“Keep your arm straight, Miyeon!” He called out at the mistake that I had repeatedly messed up. “Yes!” He shouted in delight when I finally understood what he meant. “You’re a natural!”
“I am a dancer just in case you forgot,” I reminded him with a chuckle as our legs moved in synchronization. Our feet tapped across the polished floor above the music that played softly from the speakers.
“And I’m Minho’s dance partner when you’re not here,” he joked as we continued the routine. I rolled my eyes as I focused on our routine. “And here comes the hard part, do you think you can do it?” I twisted my face so I could see him as I remembered the routine we were going to do soon. “It is hard and you need a lot of strength for it-“
Jisung smirked. “I am Han Jisung! What can I not-“ And he could not do it. As I jumped high up into the air, he was supposed to catch me but instead, his arms missed my entire body flying right to him and I knocked him straight onto the ground. I fell on top of him with a groan, my arms pressed against the floor to decrease the impact the both of us were going to experience.
“Jisung!” I groaned, trying to roll away from the boy but it was impossible since pain was spiking up from my arms. “You said you could do it!”
“Well I thought I could but you should’ve given me a word of war- whoa,” he cut himself abruptly.
“What is it?” I asked, looking at him now, only realizing how close our faces were. I held my breath immediately as I tried to move away but it was impossible to since the pain started to numb my arms, preventing me from moving around. “I… I can’t move… I’m sorry.”
“Has anyone ever told you how your eyes were so pretty that they sparkle?” Jisung asked out of nowhere.
“W-what?” I looked at him again, just to divert my attention from his. “Why are you even ranting about? Can you just push me off you-“ In a heartbeat, I was rolled away from Jisung. I wanted to say my thanks for his help when he suddenly rolled on top of me, cutting the words that I wanted to say from my lips. My eyes widen as I glanced at him. “W-what are you doing now?” I asked him quietly. “This is not funny, Han Jisung. Have you not heard of personal space?”
“Let me tell you something, should I?” He ignored my question and my request. “It’s so funny that no matter how much I stared at you, I keep thinking of how you would doubt yourself. Have you seen your face before? It’s beautiful.”
“And since my face is so close to you, can you not see all the scars and pores on my face?” I asked.
“And that is what made me realized that you are so much more beautiful,” he concluded.
“Why are you even talking about this?” I asked, finally looking into his eyes. My voice had long disappeared into a thin whisper. “Jisung, don’t scare me.”
“I actually knew you before I came into the café,” he suddenly confessed, using the same tone I was talking in. “Minho has been talking about you for such a long time that I could not help but see you for myself. I know he wouldn’t like it but my temptations were too hard to resist. When Minho went to meet you, I could not help but follow him and that was when I first recognized you as the girl that was from my school. I didn’t know you were the girl that Minho talks all day about because I have never seen you. But as the time goes by, I started to notice you and relate you through the stories Minho had long told me… Remember that day when someone handing you an umbrella when you were heading home from school and it started raining? That was me. I couldn’t stand watching you there planning to run under the rain and get sick.”
My mind travelled back to the time that he had especially mentioned. It was the memory that I was the most fond over. It was the last day of school, the last Friday when it started to rain harshly. I stared at the rain dully and turned to my bag, trying to find the umbrella that I had kept all the time in. However, instead of finding the umbrella, I found nothing in the solid five minutes. I glanced at my phone and frowned. I was going to be late to fetch my brother if I waited for the rain to stop. I glanced around and found students streaming out of the school one by one, some holding umbrellas, others wearing raincoats… there were even some that were running in the rain, all except for me, rushing out of the school altogether. I sighed and shoved my hoodie above my head, preparing to run in the rain to fetch my little brother. My legs started to take off but I was stopped when a hand grabbed my wrist, forcing me to stop.
“W-what?” I turned around to find another student in front of me. His pink hoodie and black mask covered his face.
“Here,” he replied in a low voice, handing me a transparent umbrella. “Don’t get cold.” With that, after he left the umbrella in my hands, he ran off into the rain and disappeared through the thick rain and fog.
“T-that was you?” I stammered. “You never gave me a chance to thank you…”
“You didn’t need to because seeing you already made me thankful enough,” he replied softly, giving me a slight smile. “And I could not forget the day where everything went downhill… the day before Christmas last year…”
At the reminder of the day, my face started to harden. That day was the hardest for me through the year. I only remembered crying and crying over and over because of that day. I had so many negative thoughts going on in my mind. However, the only thing that kept me going was the soup Minho had sent me…
“It was you,” I whispered, realizing everything now. “You were the one who made the soup… not Minho.” Jisung gave me a weak smile as he nodded.
“Bingo,” he whispered. “You were without a mother’s embrace and was I going to allow you to suffer through? I stopped seeing you in school after a few days and Minho finally told me what had happened. He didn’t want you to see me yet but he knew I wanted to help so he gave me your address to deliver the soup.”
A tear accidentally slipped from the corner of my eyes as I started to recall everything that had happened the past year. “Then… why have you decided to tell me all these? Why did you keep them from me before?”
He gave me another weak smile. “Because I was afraid… the all-mighty Han Jisung was afraid… afraid that I would never have you to myself when Minho’s the only one who was there throughout your life. Who was I to suddenly enter into your life and take you all to myself?” He whipped the tear away from my face. “The reason why I have finally told you after so long is because Minho decided to finally introduce you to me and since we were so closed to one another just now… or now, I thought I should take this chance to tell you instead of waiting until the opportunity is gone.”
“Jisung…” I started.
“Oh, god. You must hate me now for suddenly confessing my feelings,” he said, diverting his attention from me and pulled away from me. “I- I’m sorry.”
“Jisung…” I said again, trying to call him but he refused to look at me. “Look-“
“I’m an idiot right?” He asked abruptly, looking at me.
“No! When are you ever an idiot?” I stated. “Other than right now where you are saying you’re an idiot, Han Jisung, you are the smartest person I ever know… and… to be very honest, my heart beats too fast when I’m around you. It’s not as if you have some superpowers or anything but you’re just… you.” Unknowingly a tear started to fall from my face as my voice continued to break. “But you… you just can’t be with me. You’re in love with someone else.” “I-in love w-with someone else?”
Jisung’s eyes widen. “The only person I had ever had my eyes on were-“
“Save it,” I whispered. “Nothing matters now.” With that, I pushed him away from me, quickly grabbing my bag and headed out of the company. Oh God, so much for breaking down right before a competition.
-
“Are you ready?” Minho stood next to me as he rubbed his hands in between one of mine, creating friction that warmed my hand up.
“If you count ready as in not sleeping at all, yeah!” I covered my mouth with my palm to conceal my yawn. Minho rolled his eyes and flicked my forehead.
“That’s because you spent the entire night thinking about Jisung,” he replied quietly.
“Yah!” I slapped his wrist and sighed. Well, yes, I did tell my best friend everything about what had happened the night before because it was comforting. “Why did you not even tell me about Jisung at all? Why does he even look out to me?” I pouted and quickly turned my attention away from my best friend, trying to look crossed.
I realized he wanted to say something to me but instead; he closed his lips and said nothing. It was silence for the next couple of minutes as we waited for our turn to get on stage. Minho held my hand in his quietly, fiddling and playing as the two of us continued to sit in the waiting room with many other dancers, all either rehearsing their routines again or praying over and over again, started streaming out of the room one by one.
“Lee Minho and Baek Miyeon?” A producer entered the room, holding a clipboard as she read the name out. The both of us stood up immediately, with Minho still holding onto my hand. “You’re up next,” she said as she retreated out of the room, with the both of us following her closely. She brought us down the corridor into another room that only had a curtain and a couple of stairs. “Wait here until I signal you to go to the stage,” the producer said as she stopped in front of the stairs. I closed my eyes. My hands gripped onto Minho’s tighter.
“It’s finally here,” I whispered.
“Yes it is,” he replied. “But don’t worry. I’m here for you, so you don’t have to get scared. You got this.”
“Lee Minho? Baek Miyeon? You’re up now!” The producer broke our short conversation and motioned us up the stairs and through the curtains.
We quickly went up the stairs onto an empty plain stage up in the dark. I could hear the soft murmurs in the crowd. I looked around quietly as I stood in my position. I felt a cold small metal object on my palm. “Take it,” Minho said before I wrapped my hand onto the object. I opened my palm and found a ring, hanging on a long and thin metal chain. I realized what it was: the ring that Jisung had given me in the café. I felt my heart beating quickly as I looked at the small metal ring before I decided to quickly wear it around my neck as the stage lighted dimly. As the light shone gently, my eyes could not help but fall on the boy that sat right in front of me. His familiar face forced me to freeze up. “He’s here for you too,” I could hear Minho’s whisper in my ears as he drifted off, walking to his position.
My face reddened a little as I looked up into his face beneath the black cap he had on. The cap… it was the one that he had wore when he first talked to me. I stared at him for a couple of seconds as he maintained the eye contact with me.
“Good luck,” I could see the words formed on his lips as the lights dimmed down again and the spotlight appeared in the center of the stage. I could not help but smile at the small word of encouragement even though I knew it was going to hurt eventually and with that cheering me on, the music played and I got into my character, slowly dancing into chemistry with Minho by my side. I was not afraid or nervous anymore because I knew, he was there by my side, watching me like a guardian angel.
The song went on and I was so shocked at myself for being a lot more focus than last night. My mind played the parts where Jisung had helped me in and executed the dance moves perfectly and it was not long until the performance ended. It was quiet for a couple of moments before the entire audience ended in applause. I took a deep breath and looked at Minho, embracing him into a hug.
“We did it!” He smiled as he ruffled my hair. I broke the embrace and looked over my shoulders to find Jisung standing at his seat, smiling as he continued clapping along the audience. I could feel the heat rising up my cheeks so I diverted my attention away to Minho who pulled me to the end of the stage as more performers filled the stage. And that was when I realized; we were actually the last to perform.
As everyone was arranging themselves onto the stage, I stared at the small ring hanging above my collarbone and touched it gently. “Where did you find this?” I asked quietly at the older boy standing next to me. “It’s in my house and you have never stepped into my house at all these few weeks.”
“I know,” he replied. “It wasn’t hard for Jaemyeon to find it since you left it on your vanity table, exposed to so… so many dangers!”
I rolled my eyes and nudged him. “How did you know about this then? And why did you give me this?”
“Because Jisung asked me to? I knew where you would put if I were you and asking Jaemyeon for help was as easy as getting Changbin to do aegyo,” he explained.
“But I don’t get it,” I frowned slightly. “Why… did he ask you to do it? He likes someone else, that someone else is suppose to be the one to get this ring instead… of me.”
“You’re an idiot, Baek Miyeon,” he whispered, leaning his head on my shoulders. “Tell me, do you like him?”
“Why is this topic suddenly about me now?” I asked, refusing to have eye contact with him. My eyes searched for Jisung instead in the crowd. “He doesn’t even like me.” To that, Minho rolled his eyes.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” the speakers blared out, cutting short of Minho and I’s conversation. “The judges have finally made their decisions after a couple of minutes discussing and we finally have a winner!” I could feel everyone’s breath was held and as for mine, my heartbeat started to increase. “We would like to welcome to the middle of the stage our fifth annual Korea’s dance champions!” The host was saying. “Please welcome…. LEE MINHO AND BAEK MIYEON!” At the cue of the announcement of the winners, a couple of poppers exploded, welcoming confetti.
I screamed in joy as I wrapped my arms around Minho’s neck, jumping in joy as the both of us started to make our way to the middle of the stage where they presented us both with a crown each and a bouquet of flowers, along with a cheque of 5,000,000 won.
“We did it,” I breathed as I smiled at Minho. A celebrative song was heard as everyone started talking to one another, hugging and taking pictures with one another. Even though none of them won, they were still happy. I turned around to find other dancers approaching me, talking and complimenting me as I started to talk to them as well, until I felt a tap on my shoulders that made me turn around. In front of me was the same person whom I had first ‘officially’ met at café, wearing the exact clothes as I had seen him entering the café.
“Hey,” he smiled softly as I finally looked at him, still grinning. “Congrats… I- I knew you could do it and… I see your wearing the ring that I left you…”
“It’s all thanks to you, you know that?” I asked, tilting my head. “And… Minho found the ring instead of me after constantly forgetting it for the longest time ever.” My face fell into a frown. “But… why did you ask him to give me the ring instead? Don’t… don’t you want to give it to someone else? Have you forgot about the person you liked?”
“I don’t have to,” he said. “Because that person is standing right in front of me.”
My eyes widen. “Me?” The words escaped my lips as I continue to stare at him with disbelief. “The person…. The person you… like… it’s-“
“It’s you. It has always been you. There was no one else that could ever replace you,” he whispered, taking a step closer to close the gap between us. “You were the crazy one to not see that I am falling hard for you that it hurts so, so much.”
I let out a soft chuckle. “And all this time, I thought I was the one crazy in love with someone who doesn’t like me back…” I stared at him again. Looking at him really gave my heart a lot of abnormal conditions. He was the only one who managed to make my heart race crazily, the only one who made me smile despite all my troubles, the one who has always been there to help me through all my struggles and troubles without me knowing, the one who I was happy to spend midnights with… That person was Han Jisung all along. I glanced down at the ring hanging on my neck and held it between my thumb and index finger. “This ring… I think it’s time for it to be returned to its rightful owner now,” I whispered, slipping the ring off my neck and handed it to him.
“You’re wrong. I have always loved you… and you’re still wrong about the rightful owner,” Jisung said and wrapped my hands around his. “The rightful owner of the ring is you. Because you have taken a part of me when I first saw you and I would so desperately want to call you mine… if… if you want.”
“Han Jisung… was there ever a time where I stopped thinking about you?” I asked. “You are the source of my happiness. You brighten up my day immediately especially during midnights when I’m struggling. Is it crazy to say yes because I am so in love with you and I want to know you so much more?”
“Is it crazy to say no to your craziness, because I also can’t stop thinking about you and would be so grateful for you to say yes?” Jisung asked me back and I laughed.
“Han Jisung, I’m all yours… all yours from the first time we met,” I whispered before wrapping my arms around him, bringing him into my embrace.
“Oh god… I’m so relieved,” he sighed as he wrapped me tighter in his arms. “And is it crazy if I say I want to kiss you that badly?”
I smirked. “No,” I replied before quickly pressing my lips to his soft ones and that was the only moment I needed to feel whole again. He was the one who I had always wanted and I finally had him.
“Thank god you finally know who Han Jisung likes now,” Minho interrupted us as we moved apart from one another. I glanced at Minho and found the rest of the boys with him. Some jumping in joy, some closing their eyes and some smirking.
“That’s great and all. Miyeon, congrats and as for you, Han Jisung, you’re in trouble for not telling me about you liking Miyeon,” another boy commented and I recognized him for his very pale blond hair as Bang Chan.
“And maybe it’s time for you to realized that everyone except for you knows about Jisung’s little crush… or as I would like to put it, MAJOR crush,” the boy next to Bang Chan replied before earning a couple of laughter from the other boys.
“Wait… all of you… know about this already?” Bang Chan’s eyes widen as he stared at his band mates again and groaned. “Fine! I am outdated! But as for you, Han Jisung, YOU’RE GROUNDED!”
“Is he always like this?” I asked Jisung before earning a nod from the boy.
“Yes,” he chuckled before pressing another kiss onto my lips. “Now let’s get out of here before they realized we’re gone by the time their bickering end.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice again… Han,” I chuckled as he pulled me away from everything else so that only the two of us were finally alone.

reflection
my words Low key Snow white au but Snow White almost actually gets killed and the 7 dwarves are 7 dudes that are hired to protect him. Where’s 8? Idk. Might have betrayal twist
"Bring him to me!" The King yelled from his throne, anger fired in his eyes, the eyes of the skull that sit atop his golden staff burned red. Finally, he had decided that tonight would be it - he would rid the world of Changbin, the crowned prince of the Seo Kingdom.
The King of Seok Kingdom, the brother to the king of Seo Kingdom, and Changbin's own uncle, wanted his throne. He wanted to overtake the Seo Kingdom for his own gain. He didn't care for the people of the rich lands, fruitful farms or busy towns. He wanted the money, the superior feeling of being the King of a greater land, and of course, the power to control more people than his own.
A guard became to stand in front of the King, kneeling before him. Sweat beaded upon his forehead, his short fringe sticking to it despite his best efforts to gel his hair back. The king stared down at the young man, sitting comfortable in his throne.
"Well, what is it?" The king spoke with venom slicking every word. It sent shivers down the poor guards spine.
"He's gone, my King."
The words sent the King into a fury, tipping over a beautifully potted plant, throwing expensive dishes that shattered into millions of pieces. The servants and guards that lined the room flinched at every movement. An upset king was their worse nightmare, but it'd be that poor guards last night.
As guards dressed in black dragged the other, regular guard, out - lifeless and leaving a trail of red, the King called forward his last inkling of sanity - The Huntsman.
"I want you to find him, and I want you to bring me his head!" The king yelled, those around hmm cowering in fear. The Huntsman nodded his hooded head from where he knelt before the King.
"I'll bring you his head."
Changbin had escaped, he was forever grateful to the servants that warned him and the guards that had helped him. He knew they faced a fatal end if caught, yet they helped him anyway. Of course he knew, getting out of the palace was just one step in escaping - getting back to his kingdom was the next.
He ran, though he did his best to wind between the thick trees, sharp branches stung his arms and legs, creating light scratches you could mistake as cat scratches if not properly looked at. The small wounds stung, but it didn't stop Changbin from continuing through the dark forest. It was already so late, the moon making the only light above Changbin's head. Small fireflies disappearing into the night as Changbin's heavy footsteps came closer.
Out of breath, Changbin came to a stop, resting himself against the trunk of a large tree. He stared ahead of him, between two trees that intertwined wildly, branches stuck out in nine sharp spikes. It was an odd site, and it drew Changbin in, taking a few slow steps towards the tree, he heard a twig snap behind him. The hairs on the back of the prince's neck stood up and sweat dropped from his forehead.
"You should have kept running, prince." The voice was softer than Changbin was expecting, looking over his shoulder he could see the hooded Huntsman staring back at him.
"Please, you don't have to do this." Changbin's voice was raspy, still out of breath from running. The Huntsman didn't answer, stepping closer.
Changbin told himself from a young age that if he were to die by the hands of another, he'd do it facing them. And with that memory in his mind, he turned to face the Huntsman. They stared at each other in silence, the moon above them. If it weren't a night full of fear and escape, you could say it was romantic.
The Huntsman looked over Changbin's shoulder, between the intertwined trees and then back at Changbin, who looked over his shoulder once again and saw his own reflection looking back at him. Before he could react, he was pushed into his reflection, the Huntsman had pushed him.
He fell, following his reflection down a dark tunnel before he reached the end, where there was nothing but darkness.
And then...
"Changbin, wake the fuck up!" A voice jolted Changbin awake. His head was pounding, the alarm coming from his phone didn’t help. He rolled over, turning it off and sitting up, pushing his thin covers off.
"Shut up, Jisung!" Changbin yelled back with a groan, sliding out of his creaking bed.
The door to his small room bursts open - the door falling from it’s hinges with a loud thud, Jisung looked up at Changbin with a shocked look. He didn't mean to break the door off it's hinges, yet somehow he did. "Sorry...bout ya door." The younger smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. Changbin stared at him in disbelief, because he was sure Woojin got the door back on securely the last time it came off - apparently he was wrong.
"You're fixing that."
"Yeah, sure." Jisung's eyes rolled to the side. "Now hurry the fuck up, we're late."
"Alright, your majesty."
Jisung screwed his face up and Changbin let out a soft chuckle, throwing a pillow from his bed - hitting Jisung square in the face. The younger let a soft huff out, letting the pillow fall to the floor.
"Now, get out so I can change!"
Jisung scoffed and shuffled out of the room, going back to the rest of the apartment, leaving Changbin to change.
Changbin’s brows furrowed together, noticing a few scratches on his arms and legs. Shaking it off, he thought back to Minho's newest cat - a feisty kitten. Of course he had scratches, that cat was the devil incarnate. Well, at least it was to him. Minho swore up and down that his cats were saints made of love, cuddles and purrs but then again, Minho was a crazy cat man.
A few minutes later, Changbin stepped out of his room and around the still unhinged door. He now wore jeans and a dark hoodie over an even darker t-shirt. His eyes spotted Jisung, who sat on his old leather couch, earphones shoved into his ears. His head swung from side to side, following a beat. Changbin smacked his hands against Jisung's shoulder, letting out a loud laugh as the younger jumped from his spot and to the other side of the room, hand resting on his chest once he notices Changbin, gasping for air as he let his heart calm down.
"You asshole!"
"You broke my door!"
"...Point taken."
"Come on, scaredy cat."
Jisung pouted and followed Changbin to the front door, changing their shoes from house slippers and to their sneakers, they left the apartment moments later, the door locking with a click.
The room was dark, light from the outside was muffled by thick, dark curtains - placed for this very reason. There were soft sounds from somewhere else, outside of the room, someone moving about, trying to make as minimal sounds as possible. It wasn't until the door handle turned and the door swung open with a soft creak, did he sit up. His hair was a wild mess and his eyes were tired, his body ached - as though he had ran a marathon during the night.
"What time is it?" His asked with a soft and raspy voice.
"Almost ten, we might be a bit late." The other replied, he had a small smile and walked over to sit on the bed. "You don't look too good."
"That's so nice of you to say."
"Sorry. Maybe a shower would help."
"Yeah, maybe." His eyes closed, flashes of a forest surrounding him, his panting breath filled his ears - his lungs even felt like they stung. Yet when he opened his eyes again, he was still in his bedroom, the dark and quiet room. Maybe he was just remembering a vivid dream, that's what he put it down to.
With the help of his friend, he stood. Taking a moment to stretch his limbs before wandering off to the bathroom to take a shower and get dressed. He didn't take too long, they were late.
But he knew Changbin and Jisung would be later than them, anyway.
Changbin.
He wasn't sure why his friends name stuck in his mind, sticking out like a sore thumb or an out of place branch from a tree. Maybe he just missed his friend, it had been a week since their last meet up. Changbin was his favourite, he wouldn't tell anyone else that, though. Especially Jisung, he'd probably cry.
He hummed to himself, following his friend out of the small apartment, on their way to meet the rest of their friends - he was excited to see them.
