I know you are all waiting for the Rental Romance Mingyu fic to be published and I can't lie, so am I.

HOWEVER, I physically cannot post when my brothers and sisters are dying on the streets. The country i live in has practically announced war on its students. I can't fit the whole thing here so I'll just say it in short even though I'll be missing out on a lot of details.

Bangladeshi students started a protest for the reformation of the quota system in Bangladesh. What started as a peaceful protest turned into a warzone across Bangladesh when the police started shooting at the unarmed students. This quota system is a system that has an effect on government jobs, which gave 30% quota on the govt. jobs to the children and grandchildren of those who fought the liberation war of 1971.

That's right. 1971. 53 years. However, most of the freedom fighters did not accept this quota system or the "allowance" they got, claiming that "we fought for independence, not for this."

Now, instead of having this 30% quota reformed, they opened fire on unarmed students, killing over 1000. Though the official body count is 250, countless eyewitnesses state the count is much more. I, myself, doubt how can the official count be 250 if there are 80+ unidentified bodies that had to be buried without anyone claiming them.

This has turned into a war of getting the dictatorial reign of our Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, to step down from her position as she has made no effort to stop the police or even once, admitted to her faults. In fact, 40% of the deaths are caused by the student political wing under her, Student League.

To this date, 4th of August 2024, we suspect the death count to be over 1500. This includes 10+ kids, starting from age 4. These kids were shot with bullets, from helicopters flying low, in their own homes. The safety of their own homes. On the balcony, through the window and even, one bullet piercing through the metal of the grills of a window.

Remember, I said that this isn't even half of it so if this seems long to you, imagine the rest. There are countless videos on social media. With all this happening, I am sorry but as a student myself, I cannot keep quiet.

How did this day even come? How did you invited people to your house and forget all about it.

Only when your friends started to text you with “otw” did you remember. And oh how you ran all over the house. Tidying up the house was no big of a deal since it was already tidy, except for a few misplaced books, cushions crooked on the sofa and also a blanket that you always used whenever you get cold from watching the television.

Your boyfriend is such a sweetheart. He, without a word, helped you with sweeping the living room. He even set up the lighting to make the room brighter and livelier for the sake of the guests.

“Tell them to buy snacks and some meat on their way here. We can just prepare the drinks, and lets order a delivery for everything else.”

Oh, Wonwoo is such a life savior. You couldn’t think for the life of you. If you were going to go get snacks, there would be not enough time to prepare for anything else. So, you ordered chicken with side dishes for delivery. You have some side dishes that you made last month in the fridge. They were all delicious so why not share them with your friends.

“Don’t bother, I’m sure Mingyu will cook for us later, and there is Dokyeom too, he will be in charge of the grilling.”

“But it’s our dinner party..” you pointed out.

“No worries sweetie, they will still enjoy it either way,” he shrugged, “and I already paid Mingyu to buy a lot more meat since all of the boys are coming.”

And so, Mingyu got busy in the kitchen, cooking for all of you with Woozi by his side. Dokyeom is outside, grilling the meat with Seungcheol. The others?

Just busy talking and reminiscing about the past in the living room. There is no room left on the sofas, a few even sit on the carpet.

“Did you guys hear about this one artist though..?” Out came the gossips, as per usual when Seungkwan is in the house. Next to him is Jun, eyelids heavy but still reacting and listening intently to the story.

“Eh..? I thought that passed already? How did it turn out like that?” Dino replied, turning to Soonyoung whose hand was reaching out for the snacks on the coffee table.

Wonwoo, with his small but deep voice, is telling you the context of the story since he already heard about it during their dance practice a few days ago. Vernon, sweet, sweet Vernon also explains to you his side, and what he heard from others. “Do you know the artist y/n?” He asks you.

“I know them, but I never really fancy them. Just saw their name a few times trending on twitter but that is just about it.”

Soonyoung is already shaking his head. “If somehow one day, when you are back stage or at a filming set and you bumped into them, just ignore and walk straight.”

“Or you can just not come at all," says Wonwoo. The boys make a boo sound, while Wonwoo is throwing his head back, laughing.

“Oh come on! You should bring y/n soon! It’ll be nice to show her around.” Seungkwan adds.

Wonwoo makes a face which makes the group burst out laughing, “why are you so nosy about MY girlfriend??? And I will be the one to show her around, IF, I’m bringing her,” and he ends the talk with reaching out for your hand.

You are already smiling so hard that it hurts your cheeks, but the boys are all so sweet. They never treated you like an outsider, instead they let you hang out with them whenever and wherever. They let you be a part of their small but tight family, which you love so much.

Mingyu comes in with food in his hands, followed by Jeonghan and Minghao who is helping with the other dishes. They wanted to eat in the living room instead of cramping the dining table. Meanwhile Seungkwan continues talking, spilling the tea, as Vernon and Joshua help with setting up for dinner.

Going to check on Dokyeom, you opened the door to the balcony, seeing how hard he is grilling the meat. "Dinner’s ready,” you announce, leaning against the door frame. The two men, only acknowledge you with their nodding, finishing up with the grilling. Since their hands are full, you decide to help them bringing a plate in.

Together, all 14 of you ate, laughing and making jokes with each other. “Wahh it sure does take a lot to feed you guys,” you bring up. Before this, you notice how much the boys ate, but they never actually affected you. Now however, you started to realize just how much your purse is gonna hurt from feeding them since they eat in big portions, like BIG big. Not to mention, all of them, in total are 13. But seeing just how happy they are, eating and chatting away, with teasing in between, just makes you feel full in a way. How can this group of men, came together and continued to be together, supporting each other more than a family can ever could? It is such a beautiful thing to witness.

After the big meal, all of you sat together in the living room to watch the latest Fantastic Beasts, as Dokyeom suggested. “Lets utilized Wonwoo’s huge flat screen, because when else are we going to use it,” Seungcheol teased. You huddle next to Wonwoo, your favourite blanket covering your legs while Vernon sits on the other side of Wonwoo, and Dino was at the edge of the sofa. Joshua stays on the carpet with Jeonghan’s head on his lap, Dokyeom, Soonyoung and Mingyu next to them, no personal privacy whatsoever. Minghao sits alone on the single sofa, Seungkwan, Seungcheol, Woozi and Jun sit on the longest sofa, sharing a blanket.

About 20 minutes into the movie, you feel so cold that your feet are frozen, the blanket not helping anymore. So, you fold your legs, hugging them to keep yourself warm even if it’s just for a bit.

Wonwoo notices you shrinking beside him. He turns over to look at you, while you are focusing so hard on the movie. Fantastic Beasts is one of your favourite movies, and when the premier started you couldn’t go to watch it because of your busy schedule. Wonwoo was sweet enough to subscribe to HBO GO because he found out the movie was going to come out on the streaming platform. Turns out, Dokyeom, Joshua and Vernon also like the movie. They also couldn’t make it to the premier, so why not watch it together.

Wonwoo looks around the room for a bit, before he pulls your legs and put them on top of his. All the while, his eyes are on the television. You let out a squeak since you do not expect the gesture at all, causing a few of the boys to turn to look at the source of the sound.

Aaaaand of course!

The boys make fun of you two that instant.

"Eyy why don't you just kiss y/n while you're at it!"

They “ooooooh”ed and coo but Wonwoo does not give a fuck whatsoever and with a small smile gracing his handsome face, he tells them to turn their head to watch the movie. “Or I’m going to chase all of you outside and me and y/n will finish it alone.”

Dokyeom and Mingyu, those two loud monkeys are still teasing the both of you but Wonwoo is already focusing back on the movie. So you throw a small pillow to the two of them to make them both shut up. They burst into a giggling fit.

Turning your head towards the television, you try to catch up with the movie after being left out for about a few minutes.

It is only then when you feel something, cold hands, rubbing your feet. It’s Wonwoo, massaging your feet to make them warm because he is attentive like that. “You don’t have to,” you whisper to him while pulling your legs.

But Wonwoo insists and is holding your legs tightly so that you can’t pull them. “It’s okay sweetie, I want to.” He says to you, a soft smile adoring his face.

And so then, throughout the rest of the movie, he keeps massaging your feet, going back and forth between both feet. He is being so sweet that you can’t help but coo quietly, your focus on the movie now a mess, you definitely have to watch it again.

Then, he snakes his arm around your waist, pulling you closer, and you adjust your position so that you are semi-leaning on him, legs prop against his chest. He is hugging your legs with the other arm. Giving him a smile, you peck him on the cheek, being careful not to make big gestures so that the boy won’t notice. Wonwoo doesn’t like PDA, and even if he wants to he will pull you somewhere where the two of you are alone. He is not comfortable with overly-done PDA, but he does kiss you in front of the boys occasionally. Most of the time, he will just stick with smaller gestures like wrapping an arm around your waist to keep you close, or even holding your hand, sometimes he rests his arm on your shoulder and you will snake yours around his tiny waist. Yes, just cute gestures like those but they are enough for you. He is a man of a few words indeed, and his gestures are only for you to notice.

He turns to you after the peck, lips pursing and eyes wide, giving you a warning to not do it again it makes you want to laugh so bad. (ref below)

When the movie ends, the boys left after tidying up, promising another dinner party in the near future at Mingyu’s.

Finally, Wonwoo closes the front door and he sighs, looking back at you. You are laying on the sofa, now sleepy with the blanket covering you. It's so comfortable that you feel like floating.

You heard Wonwoo chuckle, before you feel the sofa dipping.

“Come on, lets go to bed.” He says, softly playing with your hair. You answer him with a hum, but never actually moving. 

“Babe, love.. It reeks with boys’ smell,” you giggle at his words, “are you sure you want to sleep here?”

Shaking your head, you get up from the couch with his help, and then proceeds lean on his chest. Mindlessly, he hugs you, one arm around your torso while the other wraps under your thighs. He picks you up, and brings you into the bedroom before he sets you on the bed. “Brush your teeth love, I’ll take care of some things and then join you.” With that, he kisses the top of your head, heading out to the living room, probably to turn off the lights and checking the door.

Sighing, you got up from the bed, walking- no, more like dragging your feet into the bathroom. You pick up your toothbrush, squeeze the tooth paste on it and start brushing. With your eyes close.

Only when you hear Wonwoo’s footsteps that you brush properly.

He takes his place beside you, looking at you through the reflection on the mirror, smiling at you brushing your teeth sleepily. Seconds later, he is brushing his teeth quietly.

You wait for him to finish brushing, leaning your forehead against his back, arms around his waist. You hear him spit, and let him do the rest of his business.

“Sweetie, I want to pee.” He says sweetly.

Nodding, you walk outside to the bedroom, already dark except for the bedside lamps, crashing yourself on the bed. Gosh. It is just so comfortable, you don’t want to move. You feel like you are going to lose the comfy position if you move. So, you don’t. Wonwoo already set the AC, and the lamps on the bedside are illuminating everything in the room softly.

You are dozing off when you feel the bed dipping, a cold hand immediately reaching for your shoulder. “Scoot sweetie, you are taking over the bed,” he says with a chuckle. Your only reply is a grunt, to which he reacts with a smile.

Reaching out, he caresses your back lovingly, almost like a massage but not quite. "Can't you just sleep on me? I would like to be crushed by you.." at your words, he throws his head back, laughing. "Well," he giggles, "I don't want to crush you sweetie." And it is quiet again as your only reply is a grunt.

His breathing, that endearing habit of his, luls you to fall asleep faster. You feel his fingers play with you strands, going down further to your back. “You still have your bra on, sweety. Won’t you feel uncomfortable?”

Damn Wonwoo and his attentiveness.

“Can you please take it off for me. I don’t want to move.” It comes out in mumbles but he understands you, swiftly taking your bra off without moving you too much.

“Ooh Mr Jeon. You seem like you have a lot of experience.” You tease him.

He slaps your ass lovingly, a small giggle leaving him as he picks you up slowly to change your position. “Of course I do, I take yours off for you whenever you’re too impatie- AH!” Before he can even finish his sentence, you turn to face him and smack his bicep, pulling him to lay down next to you.

Which he does. You can’t open your eyes anymore. You feel the snore is about to come out of you so you snuggle to Wonwoo closer, humming intently. The sound of his breathing, his smell and warmth covering you like a second blanket, perfect.

Wonwoo pulls the cover up until it reaches your chin, positioning himself so that you won’t be uncomfortable, but still laying close to you. Kissing your cheek, he wishes you goodnight, you can’t even respond, almost there into dreamland.

Kissing your cheek once again, this time with a loud pecking sound, he wraps his arm around you, one hand going up to play with your hair as he closes his eyes.
