Ming-Yue (not to be confused with Mingyu) is a librarian/bookseller character I made!

Been having fun playing with designs lately, decided to try my hand at a red panda to make my middle school self excited (who could not figure out how to style a red panda for the life of her)

Good morning/evening/afternoon to whomever is reading this. I am one of the two people that use this account, you may call me Ming or Ming-Yue. My wife, Sayuri, will be available to interact with when she can. Either of us would be glad to give any help, advice, or just simple human interaction if needed.

I have never roleplayed on tumblr before, only on Quotev (eugh). Please be patient with me.

Colored texts are mainly for the adult versions of Sayuri and Ming, where as the teen versions don't use them at all.

Connections to canon characters are separate from your own as both Sayuri and Ming are from what I call "splinter" timelines.

Ming-Yue and Her Guardians (Caretakerswap LMK AU)

“Get back here you little wriggler!”

The exclamation was followed by loud and delighted giggling, as Ming-Yue ran through the hallway. Huntsman was just behind her, grinning from ear to ear as he ‘chased’ her. The young girl looked over her shoulder and shrieked when she realized how close he was, taking a sharp turn into the living room. Hunts almost couldn’t slow down enough to make the turn to follow them, but managed it, even if he did run into the door frame.

The other spider demons watched on from the side, both smiling as they watched the young girl run around. It had been five years since they had found the orphaned baby on the street and she was doing well, even if they had to raise her in the ruins of their old home. She was a bright little girl, although the three worried she was far too curious and kind, but they would look out for her. No one would hurt her or take advantage of her while they were there for her.

“Má má!” Ming-Yue yelled out as she came back around the corner, holding her arms out to the demoness, “I need up!”

Huntsman came around the corner and made the same playful monster noises he had been the whole time. This only spurred on the giggles from the young girl who held her arms up expectantly. Daiyu laughed and dramatically leaned over to pull her daughter up, scooping her up into the demoness’ arms and nuzzling against her.

“Don’t worry, little princess.” She said, motioning for Goliath to move forward, “Our brave bodyguard will keep us safe from the monster!”

Goliath and Huntsman both shifted into their play fight stances and began the back and forth of a warrior holding off a monster. Ming-Yue cheered for her ‘bodyguard’ to win and as he held the ‘monster’ overhead triumphantly, she raised her arms in the air excitedly. After a few moments of playing dead Huntsman finally got back up and the girl wiggled out of her mother’s arms to run over to him and hug his leg.

“Thank you for playing with me, Shūshu!” She tilted her head up to give him a bright smile, “You’re the best at chasing me!”

He chuckled softly and ruffled her hair, earning even more giggles from the girl, “I’m always happy to play with you, little jumper.”

Ming-Yue opened her mouth to say something else, but it turned into a yawn and they all smiled as they watched her rub her eyes. Goliath leaned down to scoop her up and gave the others a small nod, “I’ll get her settled for her nap.”

Daiyu nodded back, “Once she’s settled you can meet us in the throne room. There are plans to discuss.”

Huntsman followed his sister to the throne room, sending a glance over his shoulder to Goliath and Ming-Yue. He looked back to Daiyu and cleared his throat, “So you’re really serious about moving forward with the plan to get more power?”

She shot him a stern look and sighed, “Of course I am. I have to be able to keep us safe, brother. From anything and anyone.”

There were a few moments of silence as they walked down the hall stopping in front of the dilapidated double doors. Her hands balled into fists and Daiyu took a deep breath before grabbing the handles to the door, “I will not fall to any demon or any celestial. Not when I have such a precious family to protect.”

Huntsman couldn’t bring himself to argue, not when he felt the same. They would protect their family and no one would stop them. Not ever again.

To Daiyu and her brothers, the years since they found their precious princess seemed so short, but to the young girl it felt longer. The spider demoness looked down at the delicately decorated pink and white cake, a request from the birthday girl. Ming-Yue had asked that they have a proper birthday cake this year, especially since she was starting her first year of high school. It had been a difficult decision, whether to send her daughter to a proper human school, but ultimately it was likely the best for her. Huntsman and Goliath took turns dropping her off and picking her up, using carefully crafted glamors to hide their true forms. 

She sighed softly, once again tweaking the placement of all the dishes on the table, feeling far too restless. Ming-Yue was too eager to grow up and Daiyu knew it was unfair to try and quell that excitement, not when her daughter was human. Her experiences were far different from the demoness’ own, who had lived with her mother for quite some time, even after reaching adulthood. One day, her little princess wouldn’t be so little anymore and she would have to trust that she could handle herself. 

But that day was not today.

She sighed softly, but smiled, as she was still happy to see her precious daughter growing up. They had all pitched in to make sure the decorations were perfect and that Ming-Yue could have her favorite dinner. Speaking of which, she should go and see how Huntsman was doing with the cooking. They had another hour before the birthday girl would be home and she wanted to make sure that was enough time. Otherwise, they’d have to get Goliath to distract her with shopping or something on the way home.

“How is dinner coming along, brother?” Daiyu hummed as she stepped into the kitchen.

The other spider demon was in the middle of filling the last few buns, placing the last one on the tray before looking over to his older sister. 

“I should be done on time, the cold dishes are all ready. The baozi are about to go into the steamer, then I’ll just have to cook the pork and cabbage stir fry.” Huntsman said, wiping his forehead as he prepped the steamer basket. “Don’t worry, sister, everything is going to be perfect for our little jumper.”

She laughed a little and leaned against the wall, “She’s not so little anymore, brother. In another four years, she’ll be an adult by human standards.”

“Don’t remind me.” Huntsman sighed, “Mortals grow up too fast.”

The two shared a look, one that showed their shared concern over the girl. Whether they liked it or not, someday she would want to live on her own terms and all they could do was make sure she was ready for it.

There was lots of clapping as Ming-Yue blew out the candles on her birthday cake and she smiled brightly at her mother and uncles. She had been delighted by just how much effort they put into her party, even if it was just the four of them. She knew her upbringing was abnormal and that the location of their home made it hard to do larger parties. She couldn’t invite people over for parties and it had made for more than a few awkward conversations with her friends.

“What did you wish for?” Goliath asked eagerly, leaning over the table.

The girl chuckled and shook her head, “I can’t tell you, Shūshu!”

The large spider demon pouted, “What? Why not?”

“Because that means my wish won’t come true!” Ming-Yue explained, “You have to keep the wish a secret if you want it to come to fruition.”

Goliath sighed, “Well, since I want you to get your wish I’ll stop asking.”

He ruffled her hair and the girl playfully slapped his hands away, sticking out her lower lip and pouting. Daiyu smiled at the two and Huntsmanshook his head, but he was smiling.

“Happy birthday, my precious daughter.” The demoness said, wrapping her arms around her daughter, “I’m so proud of you.”

Ming-Yue flushed and tried to wiggle out of the hug, “Má má! Noooooo, you’re embarrassing me!”

Huntsman and Goliath piled on as well, smothering the girl in affection. In that moment, despite being flustered by her family’s attention, she had never been happier. Ming-Yue knew at that moment that her wish was going to come true and she couldn’t be happier. 

Nothing could make this year bad for her, not when she had such a good family.

Yue Qingyuan: if he believed you he'd just sigh and look sad for a bit. And then ask if you had their details

OG Shang Qinghua: that is the least of his worries but he probably didn't want to know. Also why are you telling him? Do you want money? Too bad. You are now murdered because your motives are suspicious

Airplane: he's judging you for your taste in sexual partners. Either that or you are his step parent and he has a lot of bigger issues with you. The fact that you are fucking his parent is the least of his problems with you

Airplane as Shang Qinghua: Again why are you telling him? He's busy? He literally does not care but now he's suspicious about why you are going out of your way to tell him. Likely you are now murdered

Liu Qingge: tells you to fight him. Not clear if it's related to what you told him or just because that's how he ends conversations

Liu Mingyan: Wrinkles her nose at you and then thinks about it and asks if you fucked anyone else interesting while getting ready to take notes

Sha Hualing: "who hasn't?"

Ming Fan- "I'm more concerned about that thing fucking my dad Shizun" *glares at Luo Binghe*

Mobei Jun: if it's his father he justs asks if you had a child together. If you say no he just walks away. If you say yes he writes down your information for Qinghua just in case of future plots and then walks away

If you say it's his mom you are now paste on ice.

SVSSS Luo Binghe: if you are talking about Su Xiyan and/or Tianlang-Jun "why do I care?" But if you fucked Tianlang-Jun he is judging you for your poor judgement

If you are talking about the Old Washerwoman or Shen Qingqiu he is stabbing you stabbing you stabbing you

PIDW Luo Binghe: if he believes you about his birth parents then that means you know who they are! Welcome to the interrogation you'd get with Shen Jiu only 1,000 times worse
