The songs that fit each silly the best from their respective playlists because I’ve been brainrotting over some of these songs so much recently (Raph, Casey and April barely have any songs IM SO SORRY ILL FIND MORE FOR THEM SOON- whenever I get a song rec it’s almost always for Leo or Donnie I was just lucky to find a decent amount of Mikey songs on my own cbsjcbjshcjd-)
You can guess why they fit them but I won’t tell you if you’re right fbsjbcjshck
Leo:
Streaks (ANIMA!), PIN-EYE (Jhariah), Oh No! (MARINA), Memento Mori (Will Wood), Passing Through (Kaden Mackay), Everything I Ever Thought I Knew (Zachery Levi), What The World Needs (Ride The Cyclone), A Sadness Runs Through Him (The Hoosiers), Goddamn Staying Power (Mother Mother), Explode! (Mother Mother), End Of Me (Mother Mother, specifically first verse and chorus), despair (leo.), She Used To Be Mine (Sara Bareilles), Top Of My School (Katherine Lynn-Rose), I/Me/Myself (Will Wood), Days (Mother Mother), Magic (MILGRAM)
THERES TOO MANY THAT FIT HIM PERFECTLY ISTG 😭😭😭 There’s so many others on his playlist (he has almost the entire Grief Chapter Album, same with Mikey) but these are the ones I feel fit him the best
Out of all of these I would say Passing Through, Streaks or PIN-EYE are his theme song but bro has way too many choices
Raph:
Maybe It’s My Fault (WILLOW), So Big/So Small (Rachel Bay Jones), I Really F**led It Up (girli), I’d Give Anything (Mandy Moore), Meteor Shower (Cavetown)
I wasn’t lying when I said there wasn’t a lot of Raph songs it’s bad fr 💀💀💀 ILL FIND HIM MORE EVENTUALLY
His theme song is 100% Maybe It’s My Fault, it was my top played song on Spotify last year because I was literally brainrotting over it for him for MONTHS. Bro feels so guilty 24/7/365 and none of it was even his fault.
Mikey:
God’s Plan (Mother Mother), End of Me (Mother Mother, specifically second verse and chorus), Nobody Escapes (Mother Mother), Normalise (Mother Mother), Wrecking Ball (Mother Mother), Sunsets (Jhariah), Art Is Dead (Bo Burnham), Look Who’s Inside Again (Bo Burnham), Love, Me Normally (Will Wood), Sweet Hibiscus Tea (Penelope Scott), Mirror Man (Jack Stauber), 2econd 2ight 2eer (Will Wood)
Mirror Man has basically been his theme song since I started writing Reticent but God’s Plan, Nobody Escapes, Art Is Dead and the end of Love, Me Normally fit him SO INSANELY WELL (especially God’s Plan and Nobody Escapes I have been listening to those constantly since they released partially because I was about to go see Mother Mother but also because I was brainrotting over them for Ret Mikey SO HARD)
If I had to pick one it would probably still be Mirror Man but God’s Plan is SO close to overtaking it
Donnie:
Outliars and Hyppocrates (Will Wood), Rät (Penelope Scott), Partner In Crime (Madilyn Mei), Interlude:I’m Not Angry Anymore (Paramore), Boys Will Be Bugs (Cavetown), dumb dumb (mazie), brutal (Olivia Rodrigo), Rule #4 - Fish in a Birdcage (Fish in a Birdcage), Waiting in the Wings (both of and reprise, Eden Espinosa), Sparkbird (Sparkbird), Laplace’s Angel (Will Wood), BlackBoxWarrior - OKULTRA (Will Wood), I Can’t Handle Change (Roar), What’s Wrong With Me? (Ashley Park), Run Rabbit Run (The Hoosiers), Magic (MILGRAM)
Most of these fit Season 2 Part 1 Donnie in particular so I’ve been having a hard time picking a specific one as his theme song but I think Boys Will Be Bugs would fit pretty well
April:
Hayloft II (Mother Mother), Lew’s Lullaby (Ritt Momney), Cut The String (Mother Mother), Feel Better (Penelope Scott), Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You (Anna Kendrick, Jeremy Jordan), Meteor Shower (Cavetown), Anybody Have A Map? (Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson)
April has the same issue as Donnie where a lot of her songs are more specific moments rather than her as a whole, but it’s worse for her since she has way less songs than he does dbskcbkshc- Cut The String is probably the one that would fit the best as a theme song though since even though it is meant to be for a specific moment she does have a tendency to run away from her problems instead of solving them
Also side-note, I do have an unfinished April animatic to Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You because my The Last Five Years hyperfixation came back shskvcjsgfjd- I’m unsure if I’ll finish it cause it’s pretty old now but even if I don’t finish it I’ll still post the WIP!
Casey:
Little Big Boy (Madds Buckley), Bring It On (MILGRAM), Good Kid (Chris McCarrell), Sunsets (Jhariah), Meteor Shower (Cavetown), YELLOW (Yoh kamiyama), Dead Mom (Sophia Anne Caruso)
Him and April have the same amount of songs that fit them the best out of their playlists omigosh twinsiesssss dbskcbskhcjd
His theme song is Little Big Boy absolutely 200% it fits him so perfectly I love it so much for him

So, some favorite scenes of mine in 3x5.
"Well, isn't this cozy?" "Mmm, by all means. Carry on."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is another instance where Stefan pushes them together, he's just doing it with his humanity off this time. Damon and Elena were holding hands when Stefan walked in. He put his hand on her leg when he made his promise, then they shifted to holding hands.
This is where they cut, refusing to show what Elena said when she gave Damon the necklace. But I will say that they cut to Jeremy and Katherine for a reason. Damon was with them.
"How do you know that Anna wasn't tricking you?" "Nice trick with Elena. Let me guess… vervain in the necklace?"
The scene cut itself pulls the necklace back to 1x3, so fans are able to picture what happened after Stefan left, what was said when Elena gave Damon the necklace.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I felt it important to point out this Elena-Tyler scene cut. I'm talking about the fact that Damon and Elena are cut to Tyler and Caroline, and it's just as Tyler got himself sired to Klaus. There's a reason Elena ends up sired to Damon in season 4 lol
I do consider this episode Elean's un-fall, and I feel her necklace compulsion scene in 4x1 acts as a reminder of the un-fall.
Tumblr media
Every scene Damon has with Katherine in this episode is epic to me because of their wording. It's the alternate meanings within the scenes that drive them. Like Katherine's comment. "I needed you present here and now." She said this to the man that waited 145 years to rescue her from the tomb lol
It's Damon's last comment that's everything for me. "I wouldn't have done it for you." He basically told Katherine that she and Elena have a difference. He'd actually die-die for Elena. He only died to become a vampire to be with her. He says this right in front of Jeremy.

Book Review (7/3/23)
The King Must Fall by Adrian Collins (4/5)
A wonderful collection of dark and bloody stories. What You Wish For by Devin Madson (4.5/5) Maybe it’s the fact this is the first story in the anthology or maybe it’s that fairytale-like ending but I loved this story apart from one or two of the character names. The Dark Son by Luke Scull (4/5) Apart from the jungle setting the story wasn’t too original but it did benefit from having one of the rare endings to come with a positive message. Glory to the King! by Anna Smith Spark (3/5) While the idea of imposter syndrome in an undefeated ruler was interesting to read and the writing generally solid, said ruler’s profanity-laced narration struck me as more juvenile than moving personally speaking. The Book Burner’s Fall by Anthony Ryan (3.5/5) While well-written, particularly in its opening sections, I was left somewhat dissatisfied by the climax. Mother Death by Michael R. Fletcher (5/5) The Ice Age-inspired setting, the unique magic system, and the compelling first-person narration made this one an instant favorite of mine. The Black Horse by Jeremy Szal (4/5) The bloodiest of the bunch, this story really reminded me of TLOU from the dynamic between the two main characters to the moral dilemma presented at the climax. Thrall by Lee Murray (4/5) The story didn’t do anything unexpected apart from making the selkies New Zealander but it was well-told. King for a Day by Daniel Polansky (4/5) The Mesoamerican-inspired setting was interesting but what really grabbed my attention was just how many times the MacGuffin changed hands, not to mention the fact each murderous, would-be ruler having a different reason for wanting power. Looking back now, it kind of reads like someone adding the One Ring or the Green Pearl to The Emperor’s New Groove, which…obviously isn’t very funny. The King-Killing Queen by Shawn Speakman (5/5) Really wish I could have backed the expanded edition on Kickstarter. Anyway, what I liked most about this particular story was the blending of an Arthurian-based mythos with a GRRM-like sensibility regarding the human condition. The Face of the King by Adrian Tchaikovsky (5/5) This story was by far the most experimental, which immediately earns it some brownie points. The fact Tchaikovsky actually managed to pull off the present tense, second-person narration and stick the landing with one of the most memorable endings in the whole book, on the other hand, elevates it to the top of the pile. Hand of the Artist by Trudi Canavan (5/5) This was another first-person story I really enjoyed. The protagonist was very relatable and it was nice to see a king be brought down through the healing power of art for a change. The Conspiracy Against the Twenty-Third Canton by Alex Marshall (4.5/5) A non-European setting combined with two likable female protagonists and a few good twists made this a pleasure to listen to though there were some instances of modern language I didn’t particularly enjoy. Also, cannibalism. The Blade Queen and the Stoneheart by Anna Stephens (3/5) Apart from the titular Blade Queen none of the characters were that interesting and again the amount of profanity was a turn-off. That said, the ending did leave a striking image in my mind and the homage to Eowyn from LOTR a nice touch as well. The Day the Gods Went Silent by Justin T. Call (3/5) Well-written but overstuffed with world-building. A Piece of Movable Type by Peter Orullian (2.5/5) Apart from the ending the story wasn’t so much bad as it was dull and underwhelming. Definitely the weakest of the bunch in my opinion. The Wizard in the Tower by Kameron Hurley (5/5) I wasn’t expecting something romantic but I’m also not going to complain when it’s this good. The Varcolac by Matthew Ward (4.5/5) The relatively straightforward plot was elevated by cool characters, excellent prose, and a stellar ending that left me torn. On Wings of Song by Deborah A. Wolf (5/5) A fairytale-like story of sirens and female friendship that was heartwarming, if appropriately bloody by the end. The Last Days of Old Sharakhi by Bradley P. Beaulieu (4.5/5) Definitely a high note to end the anthology on. As an Arab, I adored the Middle Eastern setting but just as much I enjoyed the themes of change, legacy, and mortality. Special shoutout to audiobook narrator, Greg Patmore, who did an excellent job narrating each story.
Currently reading: Stardust by Neil Gaiman

hi all! so this blog is massively going to focus on exploring the worlds of the muses listed here. however, I'm more than happy to plot around to develop something that could work for both your muse and mine. i haven't got a carrd done up yet for this acc. but for now, here's a little info for the muses i will be adding;
William Barnell - indigenous Australian werewolf based in early settlement Australian. he's a bushranger, having run away from society the day he became a werewolf. he works aimlessly to rid the country of the demons and monsters the British brought with them while searching for ways to kill the man that gave him the lycanthropy curse.
Jeremy & Lochlin - two brothers that belong to a world overtaken by the ocean. The world is plagued by deep sea monsters, mostly ruled by sirens. These sirens spread disease through bites and infect the water. There is no land, the only civilization that exists are shabby huts on the water. Fishing villages guarded by large, spiked docks. The youngest brother, Lochlin. Has a secret that his big brother works to hide from the world (he’s half siren). Having lost their parents to the deep plague. He does everything he can to keep his little brother safe. But when his brother suddenly gets ill, a disease unrelated and completely different from the one destroying humanity. Jere has no choice but to take him into the main city to help him get better.
Anna & Luke - twins, from a long line of humans with the ability to shift into dogs. their family line usually determines their breed. However, personality, morality and need play a huge role in how they turn out. Their purpose is to guide and protect vulnerable humans and those that will put more light and goodness into the world. These beings have a dark counterpart that seek to put more evil in the world and destroy it. They are monstrous wolf like beasts, called lycanhounds that have been transformed by their own greed, rage, pride or selfishness. Anna & Luke's father is the leader of these beasts, having turned centuries ago. And Luke, having extreme issues with anger, fighting the inner wolf inside of him, is constantly tempted by his father. Anna just wants to do whatever it takes to keep her family safe. They have two little sisters, a baby brother and an older brother - who was once thought to be "dead" but really gave into his darkness and joined their father.

Three things:
Succession--worth the watch. I wouldn't worry about the ending, the series is good enough that I just shrug.
Related to above--if you don't want to watch that, then perhaps catch Jeremy Strong as part of the ensemble cast of The Gentlemen if it's still on Netflix. Good enough movie, great great cast (Colin Farrell is superb), typical Guy Ritchie flair and I agree with Anon that Jeremy Strong is indeed one of the better actors included in his age related cohort currently in the Biz.
Finally--no clue about those 2 specific collections. I use a Clinique palette in shades of brown that is much smaller (4) when I travel but I travel extremely light. Like George Clooney/Anna Kendrick Up In The Air light. But it works quite well and I probably have zero style and I'm okay with that!
I think I’ve definitely been convinced to check out Succession between you guys and personal friends of mine who love it!
And yes! A small palette is what I’m looking for. Mostly for travel purposes. Whether it’s travel for fun or travel for work, I want something that can work for both if that makes sense. I’ve got a lot of bigger palettes that can definitely cover that, but something smaller that doesn’t take up as much space is nice when traveling 🦎
