NNT Rewatch s2ep1-6

(This was written weeks ago but was in my queue. I am moving back to my college town Saturday so busy days are to come but now I have things to procrastinate 😈)

So YAYAYAY time for season 2 (my fave season overall) !! I’ve rewatched this one before, so i actually remember some of this lol

i love both of diane’s orange fits, but s1 leotard hits different

i have thots abt the introduction of power levels that will be told beneath the cut

i mean it’s all very dragon ball (which i love, but in a very different way). I feel like they are just better executed in manga format, because saying the numbers out loud just kinda breaks up the flow of dialogue and action. Plus the numbers never stay accurate since the characters are always powering up and nakaba lowkey just stops using them at one point. so like assault mode!Meliodas has a power of 142,000. BUT he defeats enemies with powers higher than that and is shown to gain even more power. But this is the highest number we have for him. Overall, theyre clunky, not updated enough to be accurate, and just kinda cheesy :/ I feel like plot could have been added to justify and explain the eye of Balor (AKA Drole if i remember correctly) but it’s just used as an excuse to quantify the characters’ strength since this season is mainly focused on physical and emotional growth, as seen by the Ishtar Arc (one of my fave arcs hehe)

merlin’s friendship with hawk is actually so cute tho

so Meliodas’s beginner stats (still missing his powers) are magic 400, strength 960, spirit 2010. The way I see it, his insane spirit strength could mean one of two things: bitch is just hella determined in his quest to end their curses and protect his friends (likely) or merlin taking away his power only affects his strength and magic since spirit has to do with your mind (also likely) anyway what do y’all think?

how the fuck is gowther’s strength 500??? The average person who can lift 50-100 lbs has a strength of 30. HOW IN THE FUCK?? IS GOWTHER SECRETLY SWOLE????

Meliodas being like “no idk who the ten shadows could be haha” when he and merlin literally formed the sins to fight them and HE WAS THE LEADER OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS is so funny like so tru king lie to their faces

the first thing Zeldris says is “3000 years... please tell me that he’s still alive” which tells me two things: 1) he doesn’t know about Meliodas’s curse, which could explain why estarossa kills him when he’s just going to come back a rival to the throne of the demon king and 2) the listed life expectancy of 1000 years for demons is probably not accurate lol

maybe it’s driven down due to number of battle deaths like the mortality rate of the middle ages lol

we are introduced to a demon who hopes mel is alive, shares a voice actor, AND HAS THE SAME FACE yeah the brother coding is very thick

So the whole concept of sacred treasures is really cool to me because they are clearly something unique to the Sins, despite all of the sacred treasures being very different and made of different materials. I mean Gowther’s is straight up made of light Still, them having weapons that serve as a constant and grow with them as they become more powerful is just a neat concept to me. I just wish we could have seen Ban use Courechouse more than just a few episodes. There really isn’t a plot reason he couldn’t have had it beforehand.

Gerheade being a bitch to Ban bc he’s a human makes literally no sense when we learn her backstory with Rou. Like NO sense at all lol

I honestly love that Meliodas destroyed the albion on his own. Like yes, he is my OP blorbo BUT he’s also supposed to be incredibly powerful in canon, which we haven’t seen him go all out with an enemy yet. Not only does he know all about albions (bc he’s a demon), but as leader of the 10 Commandments, he probably was on the controlling side of the golems. Then, as a member of Stigma, he fought against them. Not to mention, this is when he finally gets Lostvayne (the DEMON sword) back. This moment for me is when he gets to show off the perks of him being a powerful and high ranking demon. Might fuck around and do a full post later on Meliodas’s relationship to his own race and what/who he is lol

(stay with me bc im about to get delusional) WAIT so galand says “to think that after all this time has passed youd still be in that form” in this essay i will prove that Meliodas looks like a young teenager because he essentially is biologically young for the demon race. Galand doesn’t know Mel was cursed, so he would think that he had aged in the past 3000 years. Plus, I think the demon king’s possession of Meliodas AND Zeldris can be (somewhat) compared to Sariel’s aging up of Solaseed. Anyway, i feel like this can support my hypothesis of Zeldris and Meliodas are just babies who will eventually look like adults. Also, I think them being super young just enhances the angst quite well.

So I’ll be honest I’m meh about cregan probably because he’s very team black lol. I’m also meh about the starks just from watching GOT like the only starks I liked were John and Sansa tbh, I definitely don’t dislike the starks and I LOVE winterfell and the northern people, I just don’t love most of the starks we see on screen if that makes sense 🤔 they’re definitely not my favorite house lol. And it’s so annoying that cregan is friends with Jace like in the books they’re really close and describe each other as “brothers” eugh 🙄

Aemond is too smart to be manipulated by someone like larys lol I love that he’s the only one that sees through his shit. So I never noticed this until I saw a TikTok about it but when larys was on the wall staring at aemond, aemond looked up at him and kinda walked with a limp to mock him 💀 I’ll make sure to send it to you it’s so funny aemond is so sassy

Girl I was dying those two years waiting for more 😭 I just rewatched it a lot and read a lot of fanfic and used a lot of character ai lol. It’s so hard waiting like I’ve never loved anything as much as hotd so it pains me to have to wait 🥲

Ok so now we can really get into alicent and why I switched up on her 😮‍💨 it kinda started with how she treated aegon in season two it kinda had me looking at her like 🤨 like when his son was murdered and she only cared about how helaena felt even though aegon was a wreck too. It really broke my heart to see her walk away from him when he was sobbing alone in his room. And then of course like I mentioned before how she broke his heart when she basically told him he was worthless. And then it got worse for me when she took Helaenas side against aemonds and said she didn’t have to help him with her dragon. Like??? Do alicent and helaena not understand that if helaena doesn’t help they’re literally going to lose the war and their entire family is going to die??? In that whole argument alicent was basically telling aemond that he had to fight the ENTIRE war by himself knowing that he was outnumbered and was probably going to die. Helaena is the only way they could win but alicent was like nah you can go die by yourself lol and what’s worse is aemond never signed up for this shit like he wasn’t the one plotting to usurp nyra. Then it got even worse with the ending of the last episode. I have never been more confused, angry, disgusted in my life I could not believe the shit they put on my tv lol. So you’re telling me alicent FORCED aegon to be king when he didn’t want it, and then literally changed her mind and went nah actually you can die I’m on nyras side now?? WHAT?? What was the whole fucking point of putting aegon on the throne then!??? What was the point of hating nyra for years and plotting against her for years??? Just for her to literally give up her own son. Like what the fuck she really hates aegon. Aegon would never do that same thing to her, he would be actually heartbroken to know his own mother did that to him. And she’s not just giving up him, she’s basically also agreeing to have aemond and her other son daeron killed just so she can have nyra be queen. Like you’ve never even been around this poor kid daeron and she’s like yeah whatever kill them all. And the fact that aemond had been fighting alone for his entire fucking family and this is how they repay him. It’s baffling honestly. Book alicent would never every single thing she did in her life was for her kids, she was ride or die for them and would literally do anything for them. They completely ruined her character I have no idea why they went this route with her. Book alicent would probably kill nyra with her own hands given the chance.

And can we also talk about helaena what the fuck?? So she helps daemon with that “vision” and literally smiles at him as she’s like you have to help nyra win. Like hello?? That’s the man that killed her child and she’s smiling at him and helping him?? And saying that their side has to win against her own family?? And then she literally smugly tells aemond he’s going to die, literally says you’ll be dead 😏 like what has aemond ever done to her to make her basically happy he’s going to die?? He’s only ever defended her 🙄 ugh like the writers need to be fired I’ve never been so mad at a show before lol.

The only things I liked about this season was aemond, aegon, and the dragons. The writers have changed so much this season from the books and it’s so frustrating I could go on and on about it. Honestly the highlight of the season to me was aegon and I know you don’t really like him lol but I was blown away by him this season. I honestly think he was the most interesting character by far, his character was so fleshed out this season, we got such a deep insight into him. I’m such a sucker for tragic characters like him, I never wanted to like him but I felt myself actually feeling heartbroken for him so many times and actually growing to like his character. A lot of the characters are so one note/ one dimensional but aegon is so dimensional, he has moments where you hate him and moments you love him. I also think his actor fucking killed it, he was acting circles around everyone else lol.

I would love to know your thoughts now that it’s over 👀 also how many TikTok’s are too many lol like I said before I have like 800 saved so idk how I’m gonna narrow it down lol

I can’t remember 💀 ) BECAUSE I ONLY WATCHED GOT AT FIRST BC OF NED…. I am a big Sean Bean fan I’ve always loved him character ai doing me so dirty by not offering a father figure eddard that also wants to yoinky sploinky me

Cregan… honey… you’re bad at choosing friends 💀💀 I HATE JACE SO MUCH but I will admit the actor that plays him is pretty so I guess I don’t mind him being on screen I just wish he wasn’t such a piss boy !!!

IVE SEEN THE AEMOND CLIP YOURE REFERENCING HAHAHA I was like did he just… I’m glad he’s smarter though! They did show him being really impulsive towards the end after Vermithor and silverwing were claimed and I wanted to know whether you thought that was accurate to the books? When he burned down the city. Because I did kinda like it! It showed how weak he felt in that moment and I personally thought it gave him more depth. I feel like he’s one of the best developed characters in the show, even though towards the end of the season he only had scraps of screentime. Either that or I’m just filling in the blanks bc I love him I CANT TELL

ALSO I HAVE BEEN WRITING SOME AEMOND STUFF…, I hope you get the chance to read it whenever it drops next month I think I have 3 almost finished fics ready to go. Ofc i do less deep more smut but SKSKKS still!! I’ve looked at the fic pool on here and some of these writers are INSANELY good so I’m pretty nervous to be dipping my toes into the fandom, BUT I NEED CONTENT ever since finishing it I’ve just been like 🧍🏼‍♀️now what

Speaking of needing content….. I redownloaded audible !! So I could get the book experiences too. Although the only version of fire and blood they have is the hbo tie in so I know it’s not exactly the same thing but !! Still I don’t really have the time available for me to read anymore so audible is like my only avenue, but I might try to also read the other ones he’s put out too. It depends on how this goes.

OH YKW AFTER YOUR ALICENT RANT… I totally get it. I agree with you completely once you break everything down. When jahaerys died aegon was a COMPLETE MESS 😭 ( let me admit rn that after rewatching it with my mom I have grown to love him I just needed to be open to him SKSKKS ) and he needed his mom, that part really bothered me, and it also bothers me that even after the way she treated him he still always looks to her when he needs her. I saw a tiktok ( forgot to save it ofc ) about the times hes said “I want my mother” or “mummy” and I was like OK TEARS THANKS FOR THE PAIN !!!

Aemond really is fighting this whole war by himself!! Alicent and Otto put all of this into motion and now is like ok now destroy each other and as much as I like helaena I lowkey don’t think she should be able to just be like ya I know I have one of the oldest strongest dragons and if I rode with my brother we could probably stand a chance but 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️ I won’t burn anyone like…. What do you mean !!! Aemond has always had a soft spot for helaena from what I saw in that scene where he was crying and basically begging her to go with him I WAS SO MAD AT HER FOR THAT SCENE

If I can be totally honest the whole daemon in the haunted keep arc I deadass didn’t pay attention so I don’t even understand it SKSKKS I was like well this is pointless so I just zoned out every time HAHA so when I saw helaena I was like ???

AEGON DID WELL IN THE SECOND SEASON like I said I do kinda love him now!! After seeing the scene where he was like trying to make the people of kings landing happy during their petitions or whatever I was like 🥺 I am really scared for him though now that he’s on the run with LARYS ???

I’m actually… dreading next season HAHAHA like I need to see it but I have read so many things that might be spoilers idk and each time I’m like :/ please… don’t do that… but if I’m honest it’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in the last ten years! By far my favorite right now, and I can’t wait to also give my opinion to you on the books as I read (listen to ??) them

just a little something while i get over the fact my work may have been stolen! el oh el! it’s been hard getting over and it hasn’t exactly been a fear until it happened, so please forgive me for not posting as often. DON’T STEAL OR REPOST MY SHIT.

just found out my bio dad is an aries moon.... 🧍n e ways we don’t really have a good connection, but he’d do anything for me, which is something i’ve noticed about aries moons. despite being a fire sign, aries is DEAD ASS loyal. they also give amazing advice (sometimes unsolicited) and WILL match your energy. the moon sign to do them all the way and make sure you do you. y’all are hot hot. pun intended. a lot of aries moons i’ve met, i would never guess that they were an aries moon. you usually don’t know until you’re up close and personal with them. in traditional astrology, scorpio and aries share a home planet: mars. i don’t think it’s too far-fetched to think that aries can be just as secretive as scorpio under all that intense energy. not really judgmental, but stays loyal and true to their beliefs.

🤨🤨 now.. i have never been attracted to taurus placements. like yeah they’re venusians also, but taurus placements and i just kind of mind my own. if i am attracted to someone with taurus placements, they usually have air placements to go with it. most of the time, when i don’t trust somebody, they usually have taurus placements. now, i don’t believe they aren’t trustworthy and me not trusting someone that happen to have taurus placements from the get-go is not me saying they’re bad. i just think it’s my 8H at play and my venus opp. them. but taurus MOONS are the most with-standing in their beliefs out of all the fixed moon signs. like even if they’re wrong, no they’re not 😋 you’re wrong 🙄 y’all care heavily for your family and LOVE spoiling them with your money. i know i can go to you if i need help with something because y’all are always so methodical in situations and give very straightforward advice. fun to gossip with, but they aren’t gossipers, they just share what they know with people they trust and in turn, i tell them everything i know.

HOWEVER.. most leo moons i’ve come into contact with ARE SO ANNOYING OH MY GOD. like the undeveloped ones i met can’t read the room, are too dramatic (like we all are, but there’s a time & place), attention seeking, and air-headed. i need need those leo moons to also know that just because someone gives you attention, doesn’t mean they’re nice or your friend. it’s okay to be nice to people, but don’t see everything with rose-colored glasses. i know there are awesome leo moons out there and i NEED to know y’all please i am so desperate here💔💔💔💔 i’ve been stuck with annoying ass leo moons all my life i am TIRED. all the leo moons i’ve met care so hard about everything. these aren’t the people you can pick fun at without saying jk. they’re incredibly well-meaning, but sometimes it doesn’t come across that way. despite my mixed feelings on all the leo moons i’ve met, i am still one of y’all. love y’all 😍 anyways! done with my rant. it’s very evident in someone’s facial features when they’re a leo moon. the eyes, nose, lips, hair, brows.. i just know it when i see it. real eyes realize real lies, you dig?? when developed properly, leo moons are SUCH influencers. it can be very subtly too. you just garner attention when you know your power and own it. that’s my advice for my fellow leo moons. the affirmation “i don’t chase, i attract” can be VERY helpful to all leo moons because no matter how developed you are, there will be some drive to chase after the attention of something. just sit there and own it. remember you’re literally royalty. all in all, leo moons are the most leo of the leo placements and DEFINITELY wear their heart of their sleeve.🤞 (also lmk if y’all get compliments on your hair and are super specific about who can deal with it. like, my hair isn’t my whole world, but i wouldn’t let anyone touch it unless it’s someone trying to fix a stray hair or someone who wants to play with it 😍)

My Thoughts Watching West Side Story (2021)

I enjoyed the commentary @bernardolovesanita did so much that I thought it would be fun to share my own thoughts. This list is far from exhaustive, and probably sounds more like the ramblings of a lunatic, but it’s what came to mind as I was watching the movie tonight.

- No matter how many times I’ve seen this movie, the iconic whistle gives me full-body chills every time.

- This makes me very much never want to go to Lincoln Center ever again.

- Introducing Riff with Graziella by his side gives me life. It’s just so *chef’s kiss*

- Jeez, Numbers. You couldn’t just light Maxie’s cigarette before running off?

- Why does Mike Faist think he’s not a dancer?

- This poor restaurant owner is done with the Jets’ bullshit.

- That first shot of the Sharks running to stop the Jets is very *chef’s kiss*

- Baby John is wielding that paint can like a MADMAN. Poor Manolo.

- Is it just me or does Riff make an “Oh, shit” face when he throws that trash can? 😂

- Riff and Bernardo pushing past everyone to get to each other is actually one of the hottest things I’ve ever witnessed.

- SCHRANK IS THE WORST.

- Krupke is a gem in this version though.

- David Alvarez is so handsome. It’s ridiculous.

- I love Quique.

- How did none of the Jets punch Schrank for straight up calling their moms whores?

- Riff looks so sad when Schrank calls him trash because deep down, he believes that about himself already 😭

- Mike Faist covered in paint, smoking a cigarette does something to me.

- “Frankenstein time” 🥺

- All of the Jets are so over Tony.

- My sister once asked, “Did they make the shortest Jet say the thing about walking tall on purpose?” 🤣

- Why does Tony seem so annoyed already? Riff is supposed to be your best friend, dude.

- Obviously Riff got cleaned up and changed between the Prologue and going to see Tony. I’ve been meaning to write an HC about that, with Grazi cleaning him up.

- MIKE FAIST WAS ROBBED OF THE OSCAR NOMINATION.

- Riff is so bad at handling his emotions.

- Womb to tomb wasn’t ever a joke for Riff because he’s spent most of his life with no family and Tony is supposed to be like his brother 😭

- Rita Moreno is so cute.

- I love the way Anita snaps her fingers when she talks 😂

- Why did they have to make Chino so cute and lovable?! It just makes everything hurt all the worse 😭

- Anita and Bernardo are such a gorgeous couple.

- As someone who wears red lipstick on the reg, it makes me strangely uncomfortable that Maria didn’t blot her lipstick before leaving the apartment 😂

- Dance at the Gym is the only scene that truly matters to me in this movie.

- Mamie is not playing around.

- Riff and Graziella are everything to me (as if you didn’t already know that).

- Mike Faist giggling is all I ever needed.

- I love how Dot just has that lollipop hanging out of her mouth the whole dance. That’s commitment.

- Other cutie Jet couples to watch during DATG besides Riff & Grazi: Mouthpiece & Velma, Action & Rhonda, Diesel & Mamie, Balkan & Tat, Baby John & Tessie.

- I WANT TO SEE MORE OF THEIR DANCING. GIVE US SOME WIDER SHOTS😭

- The height difference between them is insane. On a personal note, I’ve always wanted the guy I marry to be super tall 😂

- Many of these problems could have been avoided had Tony just exited the bleachers ON THE OTHER SIDE 🙄

- I love the solidarity of both Anita and Graziella yelling at their stubborn ass boyfriends.

- Riff and Action with their jackets off are very 🥵

- Riff looks so hurt when Tony leaves 😢

- Again, I love Quique.

- Why are there no cops monitoring the bathroom? I mean, Krupke literally just watched all this shadiness go down. No one’s even going to check?

- Ice when Riff suggests knives: 🤨🤨🤨

- I died when I Google translated the Spanish lines and learned that Bernardo is basically saying, “These guys are always talking shit about knives” 🤣🤣

- Riff actually being so nervous during the war council makes me emotional.

- My favorite character is the custodian who looks at Tony like he’s crazy during “Maria.”

- Mike Faist originally auditioned for Tony. If there are any recordings of him singing “Maria” or “Tonight,” I want to hear them.

- You just ruined the pigeon lady’s night, Tony. So rude.

- That puddle shot is so stunning.

- Honestly, Tony saying, “But I found you!” with that huge smile is actually very cute.

- Bernardo and Anita are so cute.

- Also, why do I feel like every couple, Jet and Shark, definitely gets it on after every dance? 🤣

- Well, I mean, did you see the way they were dancing?

- I live in NYC and can literally hear everything that goes on outside my house at night. How did Tony and Maria not wake anyone up on that fire escape? 😂

- The shot of Bernardo and Anita behind the sheets is so 😍😍😍

- Bernardo has too many women in this apartment 😂

- I love how Anita calls Bernardo “amor de mi vida” (love of my life) 🥺

- I can’t believe that they filmed “America” during NYC’s heat wave in 2019. It was brutal 🥵

- Quique is a star.

- I literally just got so sad before the sad stuff even started just by remembering that the sad stuff is coming 😭

ok now that i have some food in my stomach and i realized i’m kinda overreacting ...here’s less of a rant and more of a brain dump

the dilemma - my mom is waiting for me to graduate high school so we can pack up and move to another country (probably pakistan)

why i started crying - i panicked, obviously the idea of moving to another country for an indefinite amount of time is terrifying, i hate change and i get homesick fast, all my family is in CA

why i started crying - when my mom sets her mind on something she does not stop until she gets it (we are not the same)

why i started crying: my mom keeps throwing a wrench in all my plans for the future

why i did not need to start crying - we’re not leaving yet dumb bitch

why i did not need to panic - i adapt well

why moving to another country (probably Pakistan) would be better than living in the U.S. - how much time do we have 🤨

countries she is suggesting we move to - pakistan (most likely candidate), malaysia (runner up), oman??? ( that one was kinda random tbh)

for the sake of this brain dump let’s just say we’re going to Pakistan (again, most likely candidate). here are the pros and cons

pros:

-it’s a muslim country so everything is halal 😋

-i’ll have a lot more freedom cause my parents think everyone in pakistan is a good influence

-i’m planning on going to college in pakistan anyway (+ i’ll get to go to the college of my choice / get the degree of my choice and not be stuck as premed in the college closest to my city [which i hate cause my pretentious cousin went there] ) ( [redacted] i’m looking at you 👀)

-unlimited access to clothing bazaars

- the chance of me moving out on my own is significantly higher (can 5 percent be considered significant?)

- i’ll have friends my mom approves of 🙄🙄 (not a bad thing! i neeeeed desi/muslim friends so bad)

- my siblings will learn the languages better (not me tho i already know 🧠) (my little sister could speak 4 languages fluently but one year back in america and she speaks only in english)

- my mom seems thinks it’ll be good for our mental health (esp my brother)

- the money exchange rate is in my favor 😛💸

- all my family is here

- i’ll get homesick

-endless case of fomo

-summers in pakistan are like california on steroids

- winters in pakistan are comparable to what i assume alaska is like in the winter (i’ve never been. this is an educated guess)

-pakistani ppl are mad judgmental (i am allowed to stereotype my own people)

etc. etc.

anyway now that that’s all off my chest i can stop freaking out, i don’t even graduate for another year

real considerate of my mom to drop a bombshell on me right before iftar 🙂 ami how am i supposed to set the table if i keep having to take bathroom breaks to cry in private 🙂

Although Matt was nothing but reassuring towards her, Lily was an overthinker at her core. She knew that she shouldn’t analyse their texts when they looked absolutely normal, but Lily couldn’t help but feel insecure. She decided that she’d see how it goes the next time Matt posts and she comments, so that she could be sure that her being a bit bold on his account was definitely not a problem. It was definitely not a problem as Matt did appreciate the compliments and found it funny how Lily seemed to dramatise them – she didn’t, she meant every single word and would keep thinking that about him.

So with the conceding thing nyra was crazy to ask alicent for help right after daemon killed aegons son 😭 and the fact that she thought alicent had any power at all, like girl she can’t do a damn thing her kids don’t like her and don’t listen to her lol.

So with the dragons! They are fireproof to some extent but not completely fire resistant. The older a dragon gets the stronger and more fire resistant their scales get. And the older they get the hotter their fire gets. So with meleys she’s an older dragon, not nearly as old as vhagar, but she’s one of the older ones probably around 70? So she would be less affected by fire than sunfyre since sunfyre is about 20-30? Maybe a little older, his age was never specified but he’s a young dragon.
