OMG I WAS SCROLLING THROUGH AIDAIRO'S TWITTER AND— (also hi btw first time comign here without being anon but anyways)
Tumblr media
I FULLY THOUGHT AT FIRST THAT TIARA WAS BEING CUTE AND CLINGING TO NENE WHILE TERU WAS TRYING TO PULL HER AWAY BUT NO HE'S FUCKING TRYING TO DRAG AOI AND AKANE BACK IN TOO IS HE STUPID BYE HE'S LITERALLY ACTING LIKE A FIVE YEAR OLD You've probably seen this art already lmao but OMG do I love it WAIT TERU'S ON HIS KNEES BYE I JUST NOTICED ....Okay I'll get out
This is possibly my favorite official art haha! I love when Teru acts a bit childish, it’s both funny and sweet since he never got to be a child when he was one. I like that he’s able to act younger around his friends without rly being judged, it shows that he’s gotten comfortable around them despite the walls he puts up
Okay serious stuff aside this is so silly. Tiara clinging to Nene and Teru mimicking her behavior. It’s even funnier when you notice he’s grabbing Aoi’s purse. Aoi trying to be understanding while Nene looks shocked and Akane is hardcore judging him. I need dialogue for this so bad I can’t even imagine what kind of insults Akane is brewing
I also recently noticed that Fairy is holding onto Aoi’s arm too!! What a clingy family
Do we think this is how Teru and Tiara act when Kou leaves to go to a sleepover, yes or yes?

We're deeper into Spooky Month so Anime Poll
I have 10 episodes left of season 1 of Sailor Moon so I wanna stretch the definition of spooky and half-theme another poll.
If you're new here, I take the decision paralysis out of watching anime by making you do the work.
As always, propaganda* (*rambling) below the poll. You can absolutely reblog if you have strong opinions. You do not have to know me, follow me, like me, or like anime to vote.
Propaganda
Blue Exorcist - Demons, Satan, sibling drama - what's not to love? I've only seen the first season given the huge ass gap between releases.
Zombie Land Saga - My clever button additions for this series has boiled down to various takes on "trans rights" which is very correct of me. Anyway, spooky poll deserves these zombie queens.
Fairy Tail - Not a stretch when there's magic here, so yeah, you Fairy Tail weebs on the Fairy Tail website get to go to battle for your fave again as I promised on the last poll. This option will count for Season 2 of Fairy Tail (Episodes 49-72).
Castlevania - I don't have as much stored up as I do for Free!/50%! Off!, but I will be using BDG's Polygon Unraveled "I wasted 3 weeks of my life finding Castlevania's hottest monster" quotes if this continues to stay in the polls.
The Case Study of Vanitas - I read vol. 1 of the manga and it slaps. It is everything I want in a vampire anime.
Angels of Death - 90% more bandages than Dazai. Probably (if stuff I've heard is accurate, which I imagine it is) also 90% more toxic than Dazai. Traumatize me, nerds!

Further Servant details under the cut:
HEPHAESTION:
A woman lacking a True Name. A shadow of the Conqueror King, Iskandar. Rather than a true 'Pretender', her actual class is 'Faker'.
A retainer to the king, her existence was made to serve him from birth. While she bears the name 'Hephaestion', that of the loyal confidant to the Conquering King, that is not her True Name. In truth, she is a nameless magus made to stop any curses from falling upon Iskandar, and a devout follower of the god Dionysus. A magical duplicate that draws curses intended for others into herself.
She exists as a proud warrior, not shying away from battle and proudly standing before her opponents. Due to not having a strong basis for her Saint Graph in legend, she would theoretically be a weak Heroic Spirit, but due to her studies of Age of Gods magecraft, possessing Mystic Eyes, being a warrior of Iskandar's trampling army, and her sharing skills and traits with the King of Conquerors himself, she is far mightier than one would expect.
Due to this, she's able to quickly switch between a skillset that resembles that of a formidable Caster, and one that resembles that of a mighty Rider without issue.
MUSASHIBOU BENKEI:
Musashibou Benkei was a warrior monk and a master of weapons, and one that could stand guard at a bridge to hold back even the mightiest of warriors. In some texts, they believe that he was potentially an oni due to his great strength.
As a Pretender, he is thoroughly aware that he is not truly 'Benkei', but has the abilities of his namesake in order to fight and bring honor to the real thing.
A loyal Servant to the bitter end, he does not swath himself with lies for the sake of his own personal gain, but to serve as a stalwart beacon for others. He wishes to tell the tale of the great Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune and his companion Musashibou Benkei with all he has in his heart, so that their legends will continue to persist and flourish for as long as possible. Therefore, he fights with all he has, as to not sully the name Saitou Musashibou Benkei
A Pretender in order to make up for past mistakes, he considers himself a cowardly man who will never make up for what he has done, however his role as a Servant is but the start of his arduous path towards redemption.
LADY AVALON:
An impish soul that watches others progress on their journey with a smile, a beautiful Mage of Flowers, 'Lady Avalon'.
An unholy union between man and demon, the Servant calling herself 'Lady Avalon' is a succubus by birth, and can drain the magic from enemies while also holding terrifying control over the dreams of others. She relishes in her inhuman nature, noting that she's fundamentally different than humanity, but still lends a helping hand- she claims simply for her own amusement.
She possesses a strong resemblance to the great wizard Merlin, both in appearance and in her magecraft. If she was Merlin, then she'd be one of the most renowned mages in human history. She'd be a master of spellcraft, with immensely powerful Clairvoyance and possess the title of one of the greatest wizards of the British Isles. She'd even be a Servant that qualifies for the Grand Caster seat, noting her strength among magi throughout history.
You know, if she was. But Merlin is a Caster, and a man- and she's a Pretender, and a woman… so this Servant who is Merlin's true equal simply calls herself 'Lord Merlin's younger sister' without any further explanation.
FAIRY KING OBERON:
The Fairy King from William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
He possesses a lighthearted and affable nature, being able to quickly read the room and play to the hearts of others- the type of guy who knows the right thing to say at any given moment. He claims to not have much experience in combat, being more used to giving orders or having others fight for him and playing support, though he offers to try his best.
That is the 'Oberon' that presents himself as a Servant, the surface layer being a charming prince that cares for others and loves the world around him with his entire heart. He shows a great curiosity towards others and the stories that they tell, and despite his charisma, often finds himself struggling with money.
However, as he is a Pretender, his core is 'lies'. An abyss, leading to nowhere, roils at the center of his Saint Graph- though he keeps it hidden away with a blasé smile and a casual demeanor.

Thank you, I'm happy you enjoy it!
I'm afraid I won't continue that fic, and unless we get new content on the Ghost Hotel AU to hype me up, I can't see myself starting another fic based on it.
But I can share the few ideas I still remember from "I'll just invite (you) myself"!
Akane's observation that Teru 'doesn't feel human' is correct. No Minamoto is fully human, that's why most monsters fear them.
Aoi doesn't have a proper bed, she likes to shrink into a very small fairy and sleep inside a flower.
Tsuchigomori is one of the first residents in the hotel, from a time when it was called 'ghost hotel' because all the rooms were empty.
Since Teru has barely any interactions with other people, much less in a romantic setting, he starts believing Akane likes him when Akane does not in fact like him yet, so he is more forward with his awful flirting. It makes Akane wary.
A human that visits the ghost hotel but does not consume anything from it, (be it food from the kitchen, meat hunted in the forest, or blood of one of its inhabitants) are free to leave, but they will not remember anything from it. Monster simply can’t ever leave.
Teru collects monster blood out of habit, it makes protective runes or offensive rituals more efficient against the monster whose blood he is using, but it used to also be a source of money: Teru is more of a demon hunter exorcist than a helper for the cursed, he used to sell spare gorgon poison, demon's blood, mermaid scales, and so on, to anyone who needs it. He have grown very good at distinguishing those who want to empower monsters instead of healing from a monster curse
Teru has a religious upbringing but he is very chill about it, he doesn't really have a crisis when he falls in love with Akane. He figured coming to this hotel would doom his soul, so he may as well smooch the cute demon.
Not related to "I'll just invite you myself" in any way, but I like the idea of the hotel being sentient, a monster in itself, too. It messes with it guest from time to time, and when it rules are disrespected it can warn or harm a guest (like Monster House!)

Love For Yashiro Nene ⍣ ೋ
A Yashiro Nene in-depth analysis;
Tumblr media
1/6
Introduction:
When it comes to all romance and scary urban legends, you can always trust Yashiro Nene to give you a passionate rant and a cry about them both. This little mermaid is the protagonist of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun! Also definitely a regular girl! Here I’ll be going on a deep-dive on her, down to the surface level to the deep waters. From everything and anything I can think of her, it will be covered as that’s what Yashiro deserves.
Personality:
Yashiro Nene is the one of the normal people out when it comes to the world of Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun. She comes from a relatively normal family, had a regular childhood, and overall your run in the mill high school girl. She has a love for the occult and supernatural stories, as well as idol games! Her enjoyment of urban legends is reminiscent or shown through her uniform as she was a skull brooch. She also think they are pretty cute. Yashiro also has a knack of referencing fairytale stories like Cinderella or Snow White whenever she can.
What sets her apart however, is her love for romance. Her love for the wonder that is romance is less than normal. Yashiro is very quick to fall for any man who’s even remotely like the princes from fairy tales. And quickly does she fall, as she started gardening, sewing, etc, all to appease a man who she hardly talked to. The plot of TBHK even started because she wanted to be in a relationship with Minamoto Teru, somebody who also doesn’t know her. With her extended knowledge of scary stories, it led her to the story of Hanako, who can grant any wish. And like the little mermaid, she took the chance without any hesitation.
Tumblr media
Yashiro’s fixation of love led her to a multitude of problems, including her becoming the priestess of Hanako, becoming a “mermaid”, etc. As well as her overall recklessness and impatience. However Yashiro is a very kind and sweet individual. After a few chapters with Hanako, she already dubbed him fun to hang out with, so he’s already her friend! She’s always willing to help others and to trust, to the point of nativity. She is a woman who believes in trust over suspicion, she once said. Along with her nativity, she can be quite sensitive, to be hurt from sly comments or overzealous at compliments. She is also very quick to forgive and forget. However, Yashiro is a good person who later learns throughout the story to be more careful. Even her fixation on love dies down, but she still gets into bad situations due to that same recklessness she still has in the beginning.
Tumblr media
She is not swayed by love as much in the story, but it still begs the question. Why did she do all this for the sake of love? Of having her prince of her own? To do tasks as rigorous as gardening, sewing, and kiss a frog once. Yashiro even got herself cursed, potentially for life. It’s not *true* love as spoken by Hanako, she will settle for anyone who would reciprocate her feelings. So why? All for herself. I believe that to her, romance was just as important to eat, or breathe. Yashiro didn’t want a romantic partner. She just believed it was a necessity for her to have a romantic partner as that was the only way for her to live her life. Many young girls such as Yashiro fall for the ideology that romance is the key to life, that you must have it to enjoy life to the fullest.
Tumblr media
Yashiro calls out this ideology in both Yako and Sumire. As Sumire *longed* for Hakubo, No.6, though it was because of her own loneliness that she longed for a companion, and the only one she could trust was him. It’s the same for Yako as well. All of them really just wanted a partner who could ease their loneliness and/or give fulfillment to their life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike Sumire and Yako however, she managed to recognize and overcome that part of herself. As I have started before, in the coming pages Yashiro she focuses on romance less. The manga starts to turn for the worst during the coming events, especially when we learn of Yashiro’s demise. She will die in less than a year. She won’t be able to graduate, play games, hear any more scary urban legends, hang out with friends, none of that.
As a result, Hanako tries to keep her in a picture perfect world, so that she can at least live her life in peace, but Yashiro rejects it. Instead of succumbing to fear of dying, she manages to stomp through it. She exclaims how she wants to face what was real, not a phony bliss Hanako tried putting up for her. Yashiro’s goal in life went from finding a romantic partner to just living her life to the fullest, to the ripe age of 100. To experience the good, and bad, everything. Even when she had lost Hanako and Aoi, two people she holds very dearly, she triumphs that too. She puts on a brave face and gives it her all.
Tumblr media
It’s utterly remarkable how she manages to withstand all this, especially when any ordinary person like her would have broken down. It’s easy to forget how out of the loop Yashiro is from this. A year prior to this, she had no idea that the stories she loved so much were that real.
Yashiro puts on a brave face and perseveres. We can give credit where credit is due. She is trying her best and persisting, yet it doesn’t make her invincible. She has her moments in which she just can not take it. In chapter 96, does she really break down telling Hanako she would gladly die to save Aoi and the others. Yashiro greatly values her friends, so it’s no surprise that she’ll be willing to sacrifice herself for them, as she really does have a pure heart. There’s also another factor, more specifically for Hanako, how she doesn’t take death all so seriously, and wants to be supernatural if it means that she’ll be with Hanako. Over the chapters, she has started to cultivate a multitude of issues due to the situations that Hanako is putting her through. It’s upsetting and disturbing to see a once bright girl turn so bleak. Her changing of goals is a mark of her growing up, but it’s because she *has* to grow up fast in order to even keep up with the events. We have seen her breakdown multiple times, even right now she can’t catch a break with what’s happening to Kou, her best friend. Yashiro Nene at first got to be sensitive and kind, but now with all that’s occurring she will have to be strong.

The recent incident has kept Aura busy. In an attempt to draw out the residents of the recently risen Minamoto Castle, he's taken it upon himself to interfere with their operations by attacking the fairies carrying the various valuables stolen across Gensokyo, taking them for safe keeping and returning after the incident, his usual tactic of bartering with the sprites failing this time. Whether this has had any noticeable impact on Minamoto's current conquest is unknown to him, but Aura has been intercepting treasure collecting fairies since morning.
In fact, he's just cleaned up another convoy and is currently dumping the dropped valuables into an enchanted strong box.
