Right, what would have been the chances of Wren playing the real long game with Daniel if he didnāt manage to call for help with his old communicator, and fully pretend to eventually break and fall for him just to literally stab him when heās asleep in bed next to him? Bonus points if Wren then calls Berkeley over with Danielās communicator and ambushes him when he brings him supplies, and then leaves HIM tied up outside for the planetās beasts to eat.
(Sorry I do think theyād both deserve it, and I do love myself a vengeful whumpee)
Wren would probably do that, to Daniel at least!Pretending to be Daniel's loving partner would make his skin crawl, but it would he worth it in his eyes and Daniel would let his guard down, especially if Wren accepted his proposal as well. Wren would be scared to make his move and kill Daniel, knowing that if he failed he would most likely lose his hand and he'd never get another chance again. He'd be so relieved after succeeding.
I can see him ambushing Berkeley, tying him up, maybe muzzling him as well and tasing him a few times, but I don't think he'd kill him, just give him a good scare. Wren thinks that facing the consequences of his actions alive is a way better punishment for Berkeley, as tempting as getting his revenge quickly seems.
#i love vengeful whumpees too!#i could see Wren leaving Daniel's body outside for the animals at least#so he truly is gone#and at least he can make some animals happy#being left outside would terrify Berkeley so much! Wren can absolutely threaten him with that if he tries anything#Wren mimicking Daniel's texting style while contacting Berkeley: oh he uses proper punctuation when he's texting. gross.#asks#thank you for the ask! it's so much fun :D

**sniff sniff your art** I smell Shandzii style over here! Good, because I love this style of the boys so much! You draw them so good, cgs! šš»
As for the boys, I make paper flowers for them, a sunflower for Sunny and a daisy for Moony >w<
Awww, thank you! And the boys are very grateful for your gifts! š»š¼
Ok, Iām going to use this as an excuse to explain why I might have Shandziiās art style:
Waaaay back a few years ago when I fist got into the Daycare Attendant community, I came across Shandziiās Ask Sun & Moon videos on YouTube and I absolutely fell in love with them. I have seen many versions of the Daycare Attendant in other peopleās styles but the way Shandzii drew Sun and Moon really appealed to me.
Her art style and design of the Daycare Attendant was actually what got me to become apart of the fnaf sb community. Shandziiās style inspired me greatly, and I was determined to learn to draw the boys in a similar style. I have a talent of mimicking other peopleās art styles and incorporating it into my own (Iāve mimicked Mystery Benās style for his Mystery Skulls Animated characters before) until it just sorta becomes my style for how I draw those characters.
With patience and LOTS of practice, I have been able to replicate Shandziiās art style of the Daycare Attendant to a large degree, of course with my own style mixed in as well. I am very happy that people have recognized Shandziiās style within my own, and I hope I can continue to draw Sun and Moon in this way.
Shandzii herself has moved on to other interests and is no longer drawing and focusing on the Daycare Attendant. However, I strive to carry on the memory of when she was apart of the DCA community and continue parts of her style in my own. I guess you could say I have taken it upon myself to carry on her journey of drawing the Daycare Attendant but really, I just want to draw and have fun.
I hope Shandzii is alright with me mimicking parts of her art style for Sun and Moon, and I hope I can bring you all a bit of happiness with my silly drawings.
Anyways, Iām just ramblingā¦
Thank you Shandzii for attributing your wonderful style and talent to the Daycare Attendant so that others like myself can grow and become inspired to be better artists and apart of wonderful communities. And thank you to all those who enjoy my art of Sun and Moon, I appreciate all of your support!
Congratulations if you read this far, well done! If youāre still reading then I wish you a good day and a pleasant evening!
Lots of love, Moriah-Doodles

thought on illiterate blitz jokes
i don't have a strong opinion on them (and they aren't used too much to start a discour)but i wonder what people might think since we're watching a priveliged woman making fun of poor charecter who didn't get a proper eduction
Oh I thought it was a silly but funny gag at first. But now itās just a way to force us to view stolas as superior.
Because now, we see he struggles to keep up as stolas a much more well-off educated prince, purposefully talks circles around him with his advanced words and his prose. The exact same way he does to Stella while mocking her disinterest in books and literacy. Heās the type to bombard him with walls of text and says things in such an elaborate way that blitz struggles to keep up. So therefore stolas maintains all of the power in the argument and wins on every single point. Viv lowers blitzos intelligence significantly in order to elevate her preferred character. Reducing him to an animal crawling on a table or climbing on a tree, toward a prim and proper prince who is amused/disturbed by such a thing and wishes to involve himself with academically civilised literature.
Stolas even mocks the simplistic way he speaks by mimicking the words back to him. This on top of babying him for being an imp, and finding Blitzos attempts to have agency or dominance amusing, all make me sick. It makes the racialised undertones so much worse.
But Viv does that to everyone who dares challenge or stand next to stolas. She makes the non-stolas character an idiot so that her favourite boy can shine: Stella, Striker, Wally, Moxxie, Millie, Blitz, Asmodeus, Verosika, Andrealphus, soon Octavia. All of these characters are idiots who need to be educated and corrected by him. When stolas schools someone Ben Shapiro style, with his āfacts and logic āļøā Stella says āup yours!ā Blitz says āwell uhhhā¦fuck you!ā Andrealphus and Asmodeus say āwoah stolas is right! Heās so smart. Better listen to himā Octavia has to be brainwashed by evildoers in order to mistrust him. Even though here in reality without the breaking of characters, stolas is objectively a complete simpleton
Blitzos relative difficulty with reading comprehension and difficulty understanding elaborate language is just yet another way for this writer to give power to Stolas and maintain his control over the other. Itās disgusting to watch.
This is her ideal dynamic for the two after all. This is what she finds hot.
Just a little edited to make stolas a little weepier so the audience doesnt question the power dynamic and sympathises solely with the emotionally sensitive clean pretty intelligent prince over the animalistic instinct driven, uneducated idiot peasant.
The two images are the same. It shows that even though stolas cries now, heās still an abuser. She just took away his creepy smirk and replaced it with a sad frowny face and a tear going down his cheek.
Thatās probably why if you imagine these two as humans, the racial equivalence gets extremely uncomfortable very fast unless you make large changes to wellā¦.the entirety of their story.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KKOTDA (DEAR-KOI) ĖĀ°š¼
for a month with so little notable (national - us) holidays, august sure is a busy month for dear-koi (both this blog and i have our birthdays in august!). to celebrate, i am planning on opening rolling slots for art requests! it'll be on a first come first served basis. i will close requests on september 1, 2024 (no more requests will be accepted when september starts)
what this means:
all of my followers, mutuals or not, are eligible to participate! please no requests sent with anonymous! they will not be honored! (i don't plan on publically posting requests unless given explicit permission! so please allow images in your ask box or dms open!)
please continue reading to learn how to participate and other important rules!
how to participate:
in an ask (or dm if we're mutuals), tell me what you'd like! character only art and selfship are the ones i'm most comfortable doing, but i'm willing to hear out other requests (oc's for example). maximum of 7 requests (characters) per person are allowed! note: you will not need to provide me with any sort of monetary compensation in order to participate! i will not accept any monetary compensation! (i don't have the means to do so). this is supposed to be all in good fun, to practice and develop a style i think suits me! so taking money for making your request a guinea pig would make me feel all types of guilty (if you really feel the need, tell me your favorite song(s)! i'm always open to new music! better yet, donate to a palestinian family!) for selfship art requests, please also include a picrew from which i can color pick (i.e. the more accurate the picrew's colors are, the more personable it can be!) and reference poses. if the picrew is not accurate, please feel free to provide preferred hex codes or color 'swatches'! vague descriptions like dark brown aren't very helpful and might make the situation uncomfortable (though i will of course honor any changes that are needed!). i will honor character requests from any media even if i am not a part of said fandom group! (i will ask for no idol/celebrity requests though because i am uncomfortable with that, sorry in advance for any inconvenience!) for oc art, please provide as many details, references, picrews as possible. i absolutely do not want to mess something as precious and valuable as an oc up. i will try my very best to fulfill your request to fit the image you had in mind! tl;dr: give me so much information i have to spend days reading (also i forgot to say this but if you'd like a background that isn't white, you're more than welcome to change the color! transparent is also an option!)
ok to draw:
people (characters, etc), small animals (like pets), sfw (suggestive is also okay with enough reference pictures!), chibi
not ok to draw:
nsfw (i'm not that good yet, i'm sorry T-T), gore/horror, overly complicated things (i'll let you know if it gets too complicated)ābasically just ask, and i will tell you!
please keep in mind:
i am slowly getting back into drawing (but i was never good in the first place tbh...) so i'm still very much learning! my art style currently is still a lot of mimicking (i do not use fanart as references, please don't misunderstand!!!), and as such i will ask you all to keep your expectations very very low T-T like rock bottom low...
default art will have a white background! i can and will color if colors are provided! (but there won't be any crazy good rendering, i'm sorry ;-;)
the purpose of this event is me practicing and learning art, but it's also me giving back to my beautiful friends who make the world go round! thank you so much for trusting me with your request(s) and i will do my utmost to make it come to life! if you'd like a 'portfolio' of sorts, please search the lovekoi tag! it is my art tag that i'm using and all of my stuff will be there (there's not a whole bunch though unfortunately >.<)
if you have any questions, please ask! i feel like i've left out a lot of things...
and finally, some parting words:
dear-koi has come a really long way i think. i moved here on a whim and essentially lost all of my previous mutuals (i should've just shared the url... </3) but you all found me again! and new people found me too! i'm so honored to have been worthy of the follow to following transition, you guys will not believe the squeals every time people i've looked up to like big time became mutuals with me... it's still crazy to me actually... but that aside, thank you for spending my birthday and dear-koi's 1st anniversary with me! here's to many more!
i love you all, please remember to smile today į°į©

omg hiiiiii :3
Ok so first off thank you guys so much for all the love and support on the previous comic, it really does mean a lot. I might try to continue it in some way, either by just drawing some key moments, or sharing the script of it. But anyways!! Hereās some behind-the-scenes and fun facts about the comic!
This was the initial concept sketch from back in May. I wanted to focus on the creepy expressions that Luigi would have with mimicking Dimentioās, but didnāt go that much into detail in the comic since it was just meant to be sketching out the ideas
These were the sketches for what was the next planned sequence, but I just didnāt like the action poses. SPEAKING OF ACTION POSES-
When trying to visualize the fight scene, Iād boot up Smash Ultimate and observe their attacks. Iād go to training mode and have so it advances by one frame at a time and just stare at it. I just spammed all of their attacks to learn about their fighting style and how they move.
Fun fact! Pretty much every Dimentio that floats behind Luigi were all drawn while I was on a 6 hour plane ride back in August
Writing stories always have you researching the most bizarre and mundane shit. I had to scrub through videos to see how Mimi teleports, and in the end I didnāt even do the one in the video. In Chapter 2 when Mimi is chasing you, she has a unique animation when she enters the room where she basically materializes out of a bunch of squares. There was no way I was going to be able to replicate that effect in 2 panels, so I went with the normal flipping animation- which she does do in her normal form.
Time for fun details :3
While the ādependentā one isnāt based on any specific moments, the other two are each from the previous Paper Mario games (woohoo I love canonical timelines!). āInsecureā is based on Luigi telling Mario about his adventures in TTYD, while his partner Blooey says that heās lying. āObsessedā was a bit harder for me to find an example of, but I settled on a line from his diary in the original Paper Mario. In one of his entries he talks about how the Goomba family came to visit and gave him a treat, and he writes āIt looked so yummy I ate it without telling my brother! My FP increased by 3. .........You think he'll notice?ā. Now this could be interpreted as ādo you think heāll know that I ate it without himā or something like that, but the way I interpreted it was that heās proud of his FP increasing and wonders if Mario would notice this āaccomplishmentā, as if heās desperate for his brotherās approval.
Luigiās hand twitching is him trying to break free :) that punch angered him so much that he overpowered Dimentioās control on him enough to be able to move his fingers around :)
Also I drew Bowser on Carrie cuz I didnāt know how to draw him running lol

Flapjack mimicking speech idea
(Not head canons, this is just for fun)
I know heās not a parrot but I just got a random thought of Flapjack being able to talk or at least replicate noises, including human dialogue. Idk just imagine Flapjack with a parrot syrinx. Palismen are technically not real animals so hypotheticallyā¦ehh who cares this is a fanfic idea. Like the idea of an annoyed flapjack just barking at Hunter or telling him to āshut upā is funny to me.
So Flapjack often will sing to Hunter which is just whistling, however he will mimic the sound of other animals and even the sound of instruments to soothe Hunter.
To be annoying he will randomly mimic the sound of staff magic, like blasts n stuff and water dripping. Like mentioned he will randomly bark. He mimics the sounds of the other palismen like Emmlines cheeps and Ghosts meowing, itās quite cute.
I believe Flapjack to be a chatty bird so when he isnāt talking to Hunter in the palismen bond style, heās just making random silly sounds. Eventually he gets better at human speech and starts mimicking Hunter iconic āHuman!ā He starts referring to Luz as āHuman!ā
To be even more silly he learns the words ābatataā and āmi amorā which is a bit embarrassing for Luz and Amity. Hunter laughs at this until Flapjack starts calling Hunter, āBabyā which is what Camila called him once (definitely just once). The crew laugh at him being called baby while flapjack just sits their innocently.
Flapjack soon learns more simple vocabulary like ānoā āyesā āGoodā āBadā ect. He doesnāt talk much since theirs only so much his lil Syrinx can do.

Hi! I recently came across your recent dragon age Origins drawing and I love the way your art looks. I was wondering what inspirations you use? I'm currently learning to draw and I would love to know how you got your style
Thank you!
I have to be honest: in my opinion, thatās the worst way to develop a āstyle,ā because it puts too much pressure on you. I didnāt consciously āgetā my style from anything specific, but when I look at it, I can see that a lot of the stuff I grew up with and loved as a kid is in there. Iām re-reading One Piece again, and I can recognise a lot of it in my own art, but itās all subconsciousāI didnāt try to make it a part of my work.
In my early 20s, I went through a phase of trying to āfind my style,ā so I was basically just mimicking other artistsāmaking it more Disney-like one day, more realistic the next, and super cartoony the following week. It didnāt help; it was super stressful, and I hated that my art didnāt have a personal look. It made sitting down to draw deeply frustrating, and it sucked the joy out of it.
I stopped trying to make my art something it wasnāt and just started drawing in a way that felt natural to me, and it slowly evolved into what it is now. For example, I stopped trying to make thin line art that I thought all anime-ish art needed, and just lined in a way that made sense for me and my temperament, hah! I just focus on having fun, and eventually, that becomes a style.

Have you ever wanted to draw something but you fought due to your skill level at the time you decide not to do it
Oh, god yes, plenty of times.
I would stay up late, hunched over at my desk, volumes of manga held open with one hand, pencil shakily mimicking lines into my sketchbook in the other, under the heat of only a clip lamp cuz it was a school night and I didnāt want my parents to know I was still up.
I would feel so frustrated I wanted to cry because what I was doing wasnāt coming out like I wanted, and I didnāt know why. Iād drop drawing for months out of irritation and spite, looking at everyone elseās art on DeviantArt jealously, wondering why I couldnāt just draw really nice looking things like them.
But I always came back to drawing, because despite everything I just said, itās the only thing Iāve ever felt good at, and even when I wasnāt good at it, there was something about it that made me want to keep chipping away at it. Then, little by little, I stopped comparing myself so much to others, and my own style began to come through, and the process felt more weightless.
Even now thereās a lot of things Iām not good at drawing because I havenāt practiced them enough, specifically animals, perspective, color theoryā¦but I decided Iām just gonna do it anyway and learn as I go and even if thereās a spot Iām not happy with, Iām just gonna let it be, cuz itāll be better next time.
So I hope you keep trying, and know that itās just something that comes with time, and donāt forget that itās supposed to be fun. So even if what youāre trying right now isnāt coming out the way you want, do and post it anyway, and have a good time~
#sorry this ended up being long winded but I hope it helps#and if itās any consolation I started drawing at around 8 years old and just turned 30#thereās no rush and no cheat codes to it so you might as well have fun as you go~#asks

Agere!Bendy Headcanons!-
(wiggles my fingers . excited to be writin some more for mo. i always have fun n these make my mood soo much better! requested by @/scrvwnycherub
hcs under the cut!!
cw: none
š»regresses to 4-7 age range, always involuntary or always in a semi/permanent regressed state! and like in canon, she regresses to cope with her past.
š» like Joe she has no shame in her regression what so ever! its just something that's become part of her daily routine and life style! she mainly just did alone not needing anyone to watch over her just using it as a way to unwind.. but now that she has friends shes more than happy to include them!
š» verrry much acts like a little kid pretending to be big while regressed, a lot of following others around the house.. mimicking their body language, using big words even if she stumbles over them, "helping" (which really means mimicking Steph cleaning and immediately taking a nap after.)
š»i feel like she would absolutely love playing pretend. she has a big chest full of clothes to use for dress up whenever she does, playing games like house and vet are always her favorite. She loves to play pretend with Joe and Orel, especially Joe, as he always puts a unique twist on games, like making teacher into "dinosaur school" having Bendy line up all his dino toys and teach to them while he plays as the students!
š» she also plays by lining up her toys and reading to them! if not that, she loves to have little dance parties, turning up the radio and swinging with them in her arms! she'll also gather everyone around to watch her preform a big dance number, or to watch her play theater!
š»of course she has her vast collection of teddy bears and dolls to play with! but i feel like shed love infant toys also! their bright and colorful and make fun noises, she can entertain herself for hours with them!
š» for what we can tell from her room, she seems to love animals! butterflies especially! having them up and decorating her wall, so id feel like shed fixate on them.. telling everyone she meets cool facts about them!
š» she doesnt seem like a very out doorsy kiddo. but i get the sense shed love bike riding? going to the park n having Joe hitched up to a carriage and peddling around, all care free and laughing! some times he encourages her to go too fast and they crash but its all in good fun! and i feel the bike would be red, to match her nails of course!
š» SHE DEF WOULD GIVE JOE CUTE LIL MAKEOVERS OK!! painting his nails, a bit messier when shes little, but he loves how they turn out all the same.
š» i also feel like she begins to bond with Agnes more.. later on (im including her they should be friends ok!!) helps her come out of her shell more.. Agnes is more drawn to porcelain dolls, so she takes Bendy out to go window shopping for some!

The Unicorn
"A horse? I, a horse?"
Aldieb
from The Last Unicorn:
I'm trying to draw something every day right now, and today I sat down planning to do an animation-y Aldieb to go along with Mandarb and Caba. I realized just a few days ago how much cartoon Mandarb owes his eyes - and a lot of the stylization in his mane and tail - to the Unicorn from the Last Unicorn. That movie (and later, the book) was my absolute diehard favorite when I was really little. I thought, because of that, that it would be really fun to intentionally style Aldieb to echo The Unicorn - so I pulled up some references from the movie and got to work. As I went along mimicking the flow and shape of the lines that are done in sort of an Art Nouveau feel and with a direct thematic callback to ocean waves, though, I saw something really cool for the first time that I had never realized before. The style that she is drawn in has been a huge influence on all of my artwork in the style and shape of lines that I like to draw. Those flowing, loose wave shapes pop up unconsciously everywhere in my work, even though I very rarely drew The Unicorn even when I was a little girl obsessed with her because I was more wrapped up in trying to draw the most realistic horse I could. So I was only partway through the line drawing for Aldieb when I knew there was no way I could NOT switch gears and do The Unicorn with her ocean waves -- but I still wanted my dapple-grey Aldieb and through the magic of digital art, why not both? Ā It was such a fun nostalgic moment to see how the influence of that early childhood favorite has stuck with me. The same sorts of shapes absolutely show up on things like Wisdom Nynaeve's framing, and really everywhere I look at my drawings now.
The Unicorn showing up in my subconscious for sure:

āā MATCHUP EVENT: Date #20
ā you have one new message from...
Shane . . .
hows my little winner today? missing you, so come home soon sweet girl x
Why? the fact that you are both pretty reserved in general, but come to life with each other is the main thing! sharing the same wavelength, the same braincell. i think you two would get along well immediately! shane would especially appreciate your more laidback attitude to life, because it'd give him the space and time he needs to relax and grow, yknow? and in turn, he'd be incredibly patient with you, too! i think you would both help each other become better people <3 also, like, napping together? i think shane is a BIG napper, which would suit you well! he thinks your tattoos are soooo cool, and would even look into getting his own with your encouragement! and we all know that he's a goth inside... so seeing you dress confidently in your own goth style would help him dive into fashion a bit more too! you guys share a love of animals, and i think thats something you guys could really bond over!! and a lot of your hobbies seem to be really chill and relaxed too which is more his speed. he'd love learning about mythology with you and would actively ask engaging questions, and he'd enjoy sitting back and helping you with puzzle games! honestly, if you're down for it, i can see him really enjoying at home date nights that consist of dinner, wine, and a new jigsaw to do together!
while he's not the most confident to begin with, i truly believe that as he grows, and especially with you, he becomes so much more sure of himself. not in a cocky way, but that he becomes comfortable enough to be himself. specifically around you. i think he'd rely on you a lot as a friend, before suddenly realising one stupid night that he's in love </3...
Neon Lights . . .
watching you have fun at the old arcade machines was probably more fun for him than failing at the games themselves. you always were a better player than him, and it's hard to deny that the smile you wear so prettily is perhaps the best part of the date overall. lovesick little lap dog, the things you have him thinking to himself...
he's just happy if you're happy. plain and simple. standing behind you, sometimes at your side, encouraging you to win, win, win, over and over again with high praise just to watch you cheeks flush all warm and pretty in response. he thinks you wear confidence so well, especially when showcasing your skills at every machine unfortunate enough to rest under your hands, and he's happy to play his role as cheerleader for you.
sometimes he'll join in, even if it means making a fool of himself. as always, he just wants to make you smile. it's his sole reason for existing at this point, hopping on a game with you in an attempt to beat you, but whether intentional or not, he always loses.
he fails on purpose, sometimes. just to encourage you some more. to watch you flash that winner grin at him again and again, because he's a little selfish when it comes to you.
and you look so pretty under the neon lights, too. all pink one minute, the next blue. a myriad of colours flashing across your face from the plentiful screens you visit, and if he's honest, he rarely watches the actual gameplay itself during the date. far too concerned with making sure he etches every intimate detail of your happiness in his mind, mimicking a smile back at you when you excitedly celebrate another win.
"congrats, love." he praises you once again, wrapping you up into a tight hug to celebrate with you. because he's genuinely so proud of you, and he's wanting to express thanks for spending time with you tonight.
though, seeing as you're already moving on to a new machine, and he's trailing behind you with a metaphorical tail swashing happily behind him, he figures thanks can wait until later tonight. when he takes you home, and tucks you into bed with all of your new winner loot, and he has to shuffle in beside you on the edge.
later on and under the sheets, he makes a mental note to provide you the best reward of all. just because you deserve it.
ā you like to... listen to music when alone! here is a playlist that i think fits your matchup!
Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now - The Smiths
Francis Forever - Mitski
Fly Me To The Moon - Frank Sinatra

Animation Brief 01 - Week 2 - Parallax Background
Above: Snufkin just chillin
Putting together a full parallaxed background was the biggest individual step in our "World Building" brief, which is why I kept putting it off. I was told by Yvonne that the work had to be produced physically before being digitally composited, for someone who hates painting this was bad news.
I guess like always, the first step was research and gathering reference. I chose Tove Jansson as my artist-to-emulate which proved a bit of a headache in itself. Jansson was prolific and diverse, working with different styles in different mediums regularly in her seven decades long career. A lot of my favourite works of hers are simple black ink on white paper illustrations. But mimicking that style would've gone against the spirit of the project.
I decided to buy a beginners set of gouache paint for a tenner and try to emulate her painted work, the likes of which can be seen on the covers for her children's books. I'd never used gouache before so I don't really know what I was thinking, other than that I knew I was sick of acrylic. Anyway, the first step was a sketch.
Above: Yeah not much going on...
Honestly looking back on this I probably should have spent more time drafting a good composition and actually thinking through the shot I was intending to make. It's not that I didn't give it any thought, just that when you're on a tight schedule and commit to an idea, you're stuck with it. The longer I worked on this project the less I liked it, a bit more foresight at the beginning could've helped prevent that. Ah well.
The composition I went with was a combination of a couple of my landscape sketches. I decided with my "mini-me" limited to being shot from the shoulder up, a horizontal parallax would work best. Basically a simple side-scrolling shot, like holding a camera out a car window. I took the forest backdrop from Cratloe Woods, the classic Irish dry-stone wall from the farm, and I threw in some road signs (and Snufkin) for a bit of fun. The only problem was now I had to paint it...
Above: A real ArtĆst's palette...
I had no idea how to use gouache. I even used the regular ass paper from my sketchook which was probably a mistake considering the number the water did on it. I started out dampening the paper a bit before going over the major areas with a wash of an approximate colour. You can really tell I worked left to right on the wall because it gets slightly less shitting as your eyes pan across it. The wall was great fun in general, basically just laying down shadows, darkening the crevices and building up the tone. I think I overworked it looking back, although that's true for the painting in general.
Above: Cameos
Don't have much to say about these sketches, I was working fast and trying to have fun with them while keeping in Jansson's style. Also if it's not obvious I take all these photos at night when there's no natural light cause I'm stupid...
Above: Ignore the giant pile of rubbish, I cleaned it up after I promise
At first I really wasn't happy with the treeline in my first painting so I tested out some ideas on another sheet. I liked how it turned out, and I was thinking of incorporating it into the animation, but as the trees are the furthest element in the composition, they will move the least in the parallax shot, making it a bit infeasible. I did reuse the bushes as a foreground element though.
The next step was a tedious one, scan the water-warped paintings on my shitty scanner, disassemble them in Photoshop and stitch the edges as to make them tileable. Honestly I actually enjoy this kind of tedious Photoshop work, I just hated my painting and the shot in general so having to look at them over and over wasn't exactly fun.
Anyway, having made liberal use of the offset filter in Photoshop I had all the layers cut and tileable and ready to import into After Effects. I kind of suck at After Effects so this took longer than it should have. I tried to create the parallax effect in an old school manner by parenting all the layers together and setting a keyframe on their position, and adjusting their start position individually to control the speed at which each layer scrolled. Sounds easy.
I wasn't. Apparently I can't parent properly cause it was anarchy trying to control the speed of the individual layers. Eventually I just watched a Youtube tutorial and used that guy's method, creating a new camera and parenting everything to a null object, then moving the individual layers back in z-space to create the parallax effect as the camera pans.
I'm tired as I write this and I'm unsure how intelligible it is. Here's the horses mouth explaining things if you want to watch for yourselves:
youtube
The worst part is after all that it's still just a rough composite. Even beyond the obvious absence of my mini-me, there's a lot of problems in regards to the speed of the individual layers, the foreground elements look more like they're moving on a treadmill than receding in space. A particular cardinal sin I committed was not matching the speed of the grounded elements to the ground on which they're well, grounded.
Anyway I can fix all that later, I'm just sick of looking at it for now.

Came For the Grumpy Cat Demon, Staying For the Critique of Christianityā¢ļø
Hi, I'm Jinx. I'm a 20 year old autistic furry artist who ended up hyperfixated on Hazbin Hotel after it jabbed me in the religious trauma lol (basically I watched the scene for Loser, Baby, got emotionally attached to Husk's design, decided to watch the show, and decided "wow, this is a really good criticism of something that traumatized me! Also giving Lucifer autism was a big brain idea!!" My brain has been nothing but Hazbin Hotel because autism so I'm hoping having a designated blog for me to post random Hazbin related stuff will help me focus on non-Hazbin stuff because I swear to god I've never been this hyperfixated on ANYTHING
My main blog (where I post regular furry art) is @jinxedshapeshifter. My Hazbin themed furry art (such as Hazbin characters drawn as anthro animals) will be posted here.
I use the same personal tags on all my blogs, since they relate to the "jinxed" part of my username; those tags include:
#jinxed chatter - random discussion posts. This can be pretty much anything tbh
#jinxed fanart - any fanart I've done for Hazbin Hotel. Basically my art tag.
#jinxed headcanons - personal headcanons I have.
#jinxed analysis - any analysis posts I make. This can be anything from analyzing details in a specific episode to character analysis.
#jinxed overanalysis - anything I deem as overanalysis. Usually this basically comes down to "I noticed this tiny detail in this one scene, here are my thoughts on that detail" and it ends up being an obscenely long post for how tiny the detail is.
#biblically accurate radioapple - not necessarily a personal tag (I'm probably not even the only person who uses it), but a tag I like to use for posts that feel like could be canon Alastor and Lucifer interactions. It doesn't necessarily mean I view the post as a romantic Radioapple post, or even a platonic Radioapple post, it's just a tag I like to use for silly Alastor and Lucifer posts that feel canon.
#i will never shut up about how people treat alastors asexuality - A tag I use for posts venting about asexual people acting like there's one right way to be asexual and anyone who ships Alastor is either not doing asexuality right or actively aphobic. As the tag suggests, this is a topic I refuse to shut up about, because I myself am aroace and sick of dealing with other aroace people acting like there's a right or wrong way to be aroace. Aroace people can be in relationships, sex- and romance-repulsion is not a universal aroace experience and it's weird to act like aroace people using Alastor to explore their boundaries are experiencing being aroace wrong.
I'm currently writing a multi-chapter Radioapple slowburn fanfic. You can read it here:
I'm also working on a Hazbin fancomic loosely based on how I headcanon Vox and Alastor's relationship and centered on how I think Lucifer would react to it if he ever got attached to Alastor. You can read it from the start here:
I really like designing characters! Here's a design I made for Juno, a character I created as basically a self-insert (don't yell at me about mistakes in art style, I'm not used to mimicking other artists' art styles lol):
I've also had people ask me what hypoxemia is after showing them this goober so here's the Wikipedia page on hypoxemia

Undead Girl Murder Farce Episode 1: Oni Slayer
What do you get when you cross an incredibly weird manga with the director/creative visionary behind the Love Is War anime adaptation? Well, if the answer wasn't obvious, you get something incredibly creative, weird, and cool. Lapin Track might not be a studio people really know the name of, but between the creator of this story, and the director of this anime, they certainly want to leave a lasting impression on anybody that takes a chance with this story. And they've absolutely left me with a mountain of stuff to talk about.
The short of it though? Watch this show, right now if you haven't already.
Where to even begin? I think the introduction of the setting for the world is a little low effort, but I do really like the direction of the actual pieces between it. There's an incredible amount of creative and incredibly unique cuts right from the start that lets viewers know they're in for a ride. Just take a look at this blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment.
But yeah, Undead Girl Murder Farce takes very little time to live up to its name, both in terms of visuals and story, as we follow around our hybrid Oni lead character Tsugaru. Right away, his character grabs you with his over the top but equally lax nature that's all about showing off and having some fun.
Of course, his character isn't purely fun and lazy, there's a deeper past to him as well, and they showcase that very early on through his vice of drinking. Very effective and simple, it doesn't try to claw anything out of viewers, but rather add just a bit of an explanation to his character. And of course, it does it in style, mirroring the focus on each limb in the present vs his past before bringing him back to reality.
If I were to choose a single theme for this episode, it would be parallel. A monster in a cage, a human on the streets, past and present blurring, harmless creature vs foul beast. An act, or a farce? The entirety of it is mimicry and dichotomies, like Tsugaru mimicking this cat that he protects from a random crowd. And it's incredibly well done.
Alright, I've got to speed this along or I'm going to be here all day. It's good, it's great, it's bold, so on and so forth. What's next? Well, this cool ass fight, of course. Yeah, Lapin Track providing not only good animation, but impressive, creative, and in character direction for a fight scene? I was really just sitting watching this episode with my jaw hanging loose (though this is now my third time through the episode).
There's really not much else to say. The fighting styles and approaches are perfectly in tune with the characters and their thoughts in the moment. They make full use of their surroundings and the tools at their disposal, and you can absolutely tell that Tsugaru is trying to show off while diffusing tension and peaceful disabling his assailant.
God, I wish I could share the whole episode. It's Just. That. Good.
Okay okay, last piece! This parallel during the fight that's meant to depict/explain the combat going on. I swear, this is the last bit from this fight (it's just so good I can't stop myself I'm sorry).
Sadly, I can't, so I have to try to continue trimming my thoughts down, further and further until I can reasonably leave them in a Tumblr post that doesn't go over each and every frame of the episode.
Okay, where to next? We get the reveal that the lady Tsugaru is fighting is just the maid of the only immortal person in the world, and that at this point they're only a head. We also see that this person wants Tsugaru to kill them, which sparks just more incredible scenery that I want to share every second of.
And then of course we start our wandering into town with Tsugaru and our bodiless Immortal Aya, and Lapin Track just refuses to pump the brakes and delivers the best scene from the episode.
Who is man, and who is monster? Who that exists within the confines of the cage is free to leave it with their own will? An absolutely incredible monologue from Tsugaru that exposes his character, morals, and motive, as the neither-man-nor-oni that he exists as. His desire to bring wrath upon the people that watch on and view him as a monster, that indulge in the depravity of his violence, to strike startling fear into their very beings and provide a worthy stage for him to exit on.
It's really incredible how well they weave this story into something that seems so disjointed. How they bring the idea of cages and confines in with things like Aya's birdcage or the chain link fence Tsugaru finds, how his pose and gesturing to the stage that he's created is mimicked atop the bodies that litter the ground as if he were crucified, or how the very notion of looking down on Tsugaru is made visible through this pose.
Anyways, Billy Mays here cause we're not done yet! This episode is the gift that keeps on giving, though this time it's in the form of environment art. So busy and color, but also empty and very selective, it varies wildly within the span of only a minute or two as our characters chatter on about the concept of death and dying, and their desire to live that hangs in the balance.
By some miracle I've made it towards the end of the episode in reasonable time. It's here that Aya finally accepts Tsugaru's proposal of going after Aya's body to return her to normal, and the pair seal this partnership with.... a kiss. Just puts the icing on the cake for how much of a borderline insane episode this is.
And there it is, the first episode of Undead Girl Murder Farce. Finally, an end to the insanity appears in the form of it's ending song. What a wild ride, the idea of two beings that hover between life and death, exist in a world separate of everyone else's, that find each other and embark on a journey of revenge and retribution. There's really a world to this story, and if I were forced to make a comparison? It plays a lot like an action oriented Nisioisin story might. Not quite the same oddities and idiosyncrasies, but through the many layers that characters communicate through with one another, and how they dance around ideas and ideals. Regardless of my poor attempts to explain the episode or to entice people with it though, I really hope you'll find the time to give it a change to grab you.

you know what. I know I keep saying I want to experiment with my art style a couple of times and after a while of thinking about it off and on (like. several years) but it's because I realized that like. I've experienced and put myself through a bunch of psychological bullshit in regards to how my art and the style I've had to develop is perceived. I started out drawing cartoony styles and eventually when I started to get into anime in the mid 2000s I started emulating the styles I liked. naruto in particular definitely helped me start to draw more, and then atla, and copying images in game informers of like the trauma center games and such, and when I got to art class in high school I had my teacher tell me that yeah you can draw cartoons but you can also do realism, and I think if you're gonna continue doing art you should stick to realism. standard fare for a child raised in the 00s
but the worst offender is when I became active on the internet
i love drawing what most people would consider anime. I'm also really good at realism as far as I can tell. there's no need for me to have to choose to survive as an artist but like. I went through a phase of no longer thinking anime and video games were cool and became your typical superwholock blogger, and then came the MASSIVE wave of realistic or semi-realistic styles becoming what everyone wanted to see, and I feel like part of that has to be from other kids that experienced their art teachers telling them that cartoons and anime would never serve them as an artist, and then a large part of it came from the fact that anime was never really cool
but anyways, there was a very big boom of the only popular fanarts you ever saw were the hyper realistic types that were massively detailed and I was gaslit into believing that yeah, I can't have fun with my art, and if I do then it has to be proportionate to real life and always has to be palatable to the main audience of "don't have fun with your art" unless you're mimicking a Hanna Barbera cartoon and had plans to make art a job or you could only ever make money off of your art and don't forget to do commissions or sell your art or you aren't a Real Artist, so I've done so much work to learn anatomy and lighting and all of that just to come right back around with the set of rules but now I can break them
so I'm so happy that I get to be in a time now where yeah there's still the majority of artists that have only ever developed a hyper realistic style and that's okay, but now it's more acceptable to have fun with your art, have it be scratchy and disproportional and give them big anime eyes and don't worry about etching out details for everything. I never felt like I was happy with making my art look real and I want to go back to my roots of cartoons and anime and scribbling with oil pastels and never using watercolor correctly. I got so boring with my colors and my poses for the past seven years specifically because I just wasn't ever happy with anything I made and I want to make things that make me happy, and if the first step was to only draw selfship art then like, so be it, because that's where I started too
trust me I'm not knocking anyone for their art styles but I am saying that there shouldn't have to be a single road you have to take to become palatable as an artist, the only thing that matters is if art is fun for you, if you're making things you like, and god dammit, you do NOT have to sell your art to be a good artist
