How do you imagine Miles (both) is when he gets jealous?
miles1610 is more of the avoidant type.
for example if a guy is flirting with you (while you're together) he's not gonna do shit☠️☠️
he'll probably just stand there like 🫤
best believe he's acting weird for the rest of the day tho
you literally have to pull it out of him, but when you ask what the issue is , he's gonna say nothing is wrong the first 7 times
but eventually he budges and is like "... i js don't like how that guy was talking to you."
he prolly gets a bit insecure cus like .. does he not look intimidating enough?? why did that guy flirt wit you when he was RIGHT there??
bro feel like a bitch ngl
it definitely takes some time to convince him you weren't entertaining it and that you love only him. but it works and you guys make up lol
now miles 42 is def the confrontational type
a guy flirting w you in front of him??? aw hell nah, prepare to get second hand embarrassment
"the fuck? you're corny as hell nigga if you don't get your ass on.." "woah dude my bad..."
he is NOT playing games at all
if he doesn't like what he's hearing or seeing, he's speaking up about it
if he's feeling extra he might even be way more touchy with you in front of the person
unlike miles 1610, ion think he would be upset at you at all
he just thinks niggas are weird, but he knew what he was in for the moment he decided to date someone as pretty as you
my honest thoughts 😋

honestly, i think miles (1610) has a depop account? i see him being a total sneaker head and rio has definitely gotten on his ass about how much space his shoes are taking up in his room. so he goes online and sells them!
waaaaah my son’s so cute y’all 😞
everytime a new shoe drops, he definitely gets them and wears them 7 times at least — then they’re forgotten about 😭 and i can imagine rio walking in miles’ room and cussing him tf out bc why does he got all these shoes???
so he creates a cute lil depop account, first he can’t help but look through all the listings and stuff — fighting the urge to buy a vintage jacket or some shi’ — then he goes through all his shoes to see which ones he dislikes the most (he physically cannot but does it anyways) and puts them up for sale!! now imagine how sad he gets when he actually has to sell them :(

the entire message of this multiverse trilogy is that in this story, the lonely spidey doesn't have to be lonely
Pav was not alone in facing his first big threat because the spideys who were there didn't want him to be alone. And when they manage to actually save everyone (because multiple spideys were sharing the load), the entire city cheers. Imagine how Gwen felt, knowing how she's perceived in her own universe. Even for the other spideys, that must've been a novel experience--you just don't get uncontested gratitude when you're one person and you can't save everyone.
there's community to be found in the culture you grew up in & the people you meet during common-goal acts of heroism (solutions that wouldn't have worked for a lone hero works when there are three spideys trying to stop a helicopter)
look at peter b parker, he was lonely as fuck but mentoring miles changed him, he's not alone anymore
the classic spidey narrative is important because sometimes it is just you bearing the weight of the world--no one can lessen your grief for you, and no one else can take your leap of faith for you
but there's something special about spideys getting understanding and community in miles's story, it's such a nice thing to happen to these isolated heroes, and the joy thereof is infectious

Friend chatting to me today said, "If Miles wasn't meant to be Spiderman (spider from a difference universe) then nothing he does is canon, therefore his Dad, captain or not, doesn't have to die."

red is to spider-man as pink is to miles, in that pink is the color of: self-expression, confidence, compassion. if you side with miles, if you want to support his growth, you're going to be in pink
that being said...a pink robe can be removed, and pink hairdye can be washed out

Thinking about the way Gwen, how she is just a kid like Miles.
Her only father and family member she had left pointed a gun right at her, actively chose his job over his own daughter after she revealed she was spider woman.
Gwen was distraught, her whole world was collapsing. And then two spider people, people like HER, showed up. Adults who seemed like they understood what she was going through, offered her an escape from her problems. To abandon Gwen Stacy, to hide behind the mask where pain can’t get to her.
So she goes with them.
But things aren’t what they seem. The adults are falling apart here too, Miguel blows up at every small inconvenience. He’s extremely hard on Gwen- of course he would be. He can’t get attached to another little kid, not after what happened last time.
And Jessica Drew? A bit more lenient, maybe like the mom she never knew. But she’s not her mom. She pushed for her to be there, but she won’t protect her either.
Gwen learns her father will die.
She learns that Miles was an anomaly, too dangerous to interact with. She’s not even allowed to see him.
She falls on others, Hobie and Pavitr are good people who care about her well being.
But she just misses Miles. He understood her, what they’ve lost.
And when a mission comes up from his universe? Of course she snatches up the chance to see him again without angering the only parental figures she has now.
She tried to protect him in the only way that seemed to work, hiding the truth.
But he’s so much more hopeful than she is. He is kind, he’s strong and he knows what it means to be spider man, in spite of everything.
And she has to watch him learn the truth, watch the new parental figures quickly turn against them both.
People who Gwen thought understood, send her back to her own universe by force.
Gwen is 16.
Imagine being a 16 year old girl, going though all of this.
Miles literally makes earthquakes in her life, changes entire trajectories just by existing. He saves her dad, just by proxy.
God. It is so painful to look at these kids. These poor, sweet kids.

Miles' universe is Blank.
Right at the beginning of the movie, the lady explains that its her job to 'capture his universe', but she has no idea who this kid is, so she has nothing written.
Miles is the 'original' anomaly, who—according to Miguel—was never meant to be spiderman. It makes sense that no one quite knows what to expect.
But hold on a second, in a universe where spiderman already existed, would changing a canon event still be catastrophic when they've technically already happened?
If it is, why hasn't the universe where Miles' spider came from collapsed in on itself like Miguel claims it should? Because the spider never bit Peter Parker in that universe, I'd say that several canon events have changed, but other than chaos due to lack of a spiderman, the universe has yet to tear itself apart.
Why do they listen to Miguel anyway? Oh right, because he's experienced it the consequences of changing canon events. But in that case, wouldn't that make him the original anomaly?
It would make sense, both him and Miles have distinct powers that seperate themselves from the other spiders, like invisibility or vampire-esque teeth.
Dont let all the different versions of spiderman confuse you, they all have things in common—outside of canon events—and Miguel is an outlier in all of them.
No humor, distinct webs, and whatever the hell he injected himself with aside, Miguel has not only lost sight of what it means to be spiderman, but also managed to drag everyone down with him.
Maybe thats why Miguel makes such a good antagonist, because I dont know about you, but alot of what he explained made sense. I found myself even agreeing—greater good and all that. Sure it sucks, but thats the responsibility of Spiderman right?
But wait. When did spiderman become so cynical? As of now, Miguel is not Spiderman. Maybe he never was. I hope for Miles sake thats not true.
But back on topic. Just like that lady at the very start, Miguel also has no idea who this kid is, or how his universe is going to turn out - and thats a little scary. Especially when its possible Miles can achieve everything he wasnt able to. There are a million reasons why Miguel's univeres collaped in on itself, and I'm not inclined to take his word.

Imagine this, 8 year old Miles wants to start selling lemonade. He tells Rio and Jeff and they’re all supportive and help him make signs and get him a table. They set him up outside of their house but he only gets like three sales and gets sad. Jeff is like fuck that and moves him and the equipment down in front of his police station, so boom his lemonade starts selling like there’s a sale at “PINK”. They sell so much they gotta go home and make some more!
Idk what this is supposed to be I just saw this picture and the gears started turning. Look at his little hat!!

Something I haven't seen people talk about with the new spiderverse movie is just how puertorrican Miles and Rio are.
For background, I'm puertorrican from the island, and I just watched Across the Spiderverse in a theater here, and let me tell you, the people in the theater freaked out whenever these little details came on. It is so clear to all of us how much care went into portraying every single detail.
You guys don't understand how important all of this is to me.
At the party, when everyone started greeting miles in spanish? I've had all those phrases said to me. All of those people had my accent. They weren't a different flavor of hispanic just because finding some puertorricans was too hard. They were all so very puertorrican that it almost hurt.
But even that can be a bit easier to portray. Sure, they all had puertorrican accents, but everything they said is pretty run of the mill for hispanic people. And then I saw the food. I remember the asopao most clearly, because it was just on screen for a few seconds, and my friend started whisper screaming "Pasteles, pasteles!!" into my ear. It was such a tiny thing, but the food was ours, and not cuban, and not dominican. We never get to see our food done right, because no one cares. People just use dominican food and go "close enough."
And when Miles and his parents are talking about spiderman and Rio says that Spiderman is puertorrican?? That's such a puertorrican thing to do. People here are so incredibly proud of our island and our people that I personally know so many people that have gone to see Lin Manuel Miranda shows while having zero interest in musical theater because he's one of us. It makes so much sense that Rio would celebrate that, and when Miles immediately tries to deflect by saying spuderman sounds more dominican? That's peak comedy. Everyone in the theater burst out laughing, and that joke works precisely because the movie doesn't treat us as interchangeable.
And finally, Rio herself. The way all the characters move is so incredibly unique and mesmerizing, but Rio? My girl feels with her mouth. Her expressions were so spot on, with the lips making up so much of the emotions. Puertorricans use our lips a lot when expressing how we feel, and its such a tiny, inconsequential detail, but it means the world to me. So many people in the creative team cared so much for all these little details to make their way in. They really didn't have to, but they did, and I just really appreciate that.
Also, fun fact, I watched it in english with spanish subs (the subs are for the spanish dubbed version, not a direct translation), and when Rio says "I bet she doesn't even know spanish" about Gwen, in spanish it's "I bet she doesn't even know where Puerto Rico is" and that was very funny and I laughed my ass off when I noticed that's what they translated it as.
