SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4
Upper East Side — Manhattan
11:56 PM
The street was unnervingly quiet for a crime scene.
Midnight on a Sunday should've meant peace for this sleepy Upper East Side neighborhood–kids asleep, TVs flickering behind curtained windows, families winding down from the weekend. Instead, the house at the end of the block was ringed with cruisers and crime scene tape, flashing lights turning the early December frost into a strobe of red and blue. Officers moved with subdued urgency, technicians already setting up their equipment. A faint hum of radios and murmurs buzzing in the background like static.
Miles parked a few houses down, killed the engine, and stepped out into the cold. He slammed his car door shut, shoulders hunched against the bite of the air. The moment his boots hit the pavement, something in him shifted. That old, tight coil in his gut wound itself back up. He didn't need to see the bodies to know what kind of scene it was. The officer's voice over the phone had been clipped and grim. He hadn't asked for details. He didn't need them.
For the first time in a long time, he headed for the scene alone. He had been able to drive his own car, park as he pleased and hadn't even been allowed a few dry remarks on the way. His partner wasn't there. For once, she wasn't the one stepping out of the driver's seat, already halfway toward the scene before he could even close the door.
It felt wrong.
His shoes scuffed against the pavement as he made his way toward the crime scene tape, flashing his badge to the uniform standing guard before slipping underneath. The house, an elegant brownstone with Christmad lights already strung along the porch railing, looked almost untouched from the outside. But Miles knew better. He knew what kind of horrors hid behind walls that should've been safe.
Just at the foot of the front staircase, Olivia and Fin stood, deep in quiet conversation. The call had dragged them out of bed too, right into the city's paralyzing cold. They'd had their fair share of murders and shady cases, but this one was much more typical of what the FBI duo was used to. If they were there, it was on the grounds of clear signs of abuse.
The wind was tugging lightly at Olivia's coat, brushing away the scarf wrapped snugly around her neck. She looked rigid–arms crossed against her chest, jaw set–but calm. Her eyes gave her away. She didn't look at the agent right away, scanning the street behind him, the shadows between the cars, the stretch of sidewalk that remained stubbornly empty. Only when he was a few feet away did her gaze settle on him, brows subtly lifting.
—Just you?
Her voice was low, carried more by cold air and instinct than actual curiosity. Miles nodded, stepping up on the sidewalk, shoulders still squared against the biting wind.
—Yeah. Just me tonight.
There was a beat of silence, the kind that lingered longer than it should have. Olivia's eyes searched his face for a second too long before glancing again toward the street, her brow furrowing.
—Gray's not with you?
Fin, reading the tension in the air with a veteran's ease, gave a slight nod and slipped inside, leaving them under the dull glow of the porch light and the howling wind that made the railing creak. The agent shifted his weight and looked past Olivia for a second, as if trying to organize his thoughts against the icy ache settling in his bones. Then he exhaled, long and slow.
—She left. November first. Got called up.
The words seemed to hang there for a second, carried between them by cold air.
Olivia blinked, lips parting.
—Left?
—Yeah. Navy. Classified deployment, he said, his voice lower now, edged with something that wasn't quite irritation–more like resignation. They didn't give her much time. They called her on Halloween night and she was gone by sunrise. Not a lot of room for goodbyes.
The wind blew again, harsher now. The SVU Lieutenant turned her face slightly into it, adjusting her scarf as she did, but not before Miles saw the flicker of something across her face. Surprise, of course–but also a note of something more personal, more subtle. Disappointment, maybe. It passed quickly, but he caught it.
—That was over a month ago, she murmured.
He hesitated. His breath came out in a puff as he tilted his head slightly, studying her.
—She didn't tell you?
Olivia met his eyes, and for a second, the streetlight caught something guarded in her expression. Her hands were buried deep in her coat pockets, but her voice had lost its evenness, just slightly.
—No. I thought... I don't know. I thought she might've said something. We'd been talking more, working more together. She didn't mention a word.
Miles pressed his lips together and looked away, dragging his gloved hand down his face before glancing toward the taped-up door.
—That's Lexi. She carries most of her life like it's classified, even when it isn't. Doesn't mean she doesn't want to talk–it just means she doesn't always know how.
Olivia gave a small nod, but her jaw was tense. She looked back down the street again as if she expected Alexis to materialize from the dark, a few minutes late, brushing snow off her jacket with a sheepish smile. But there was no movement. No shadow. Just cold.
—She was getting good at it, you know, Olivia added softly. The talking.
Miles didn't reply right away. He just stood there, eyes fixed on the distant shadows curling along the sidewalk. All he could think about was Alexis and the years of knowing her in ways few people ever would. He was her partner, he knew how her mind worked, how she compartmentalized every emotion with surgical precision, how she'd rather carry a burden alone than risk unloading it on someone else.
He'd spent long enough beside her to understand that Alexis didn't disappear to keep people out–she disappeared to keep them from having to carry pieces of her too. And yet, despite all that, she had started showing up in ways that surprised him.
She had been opening up, bit by bit, with Olivia. He'd seen it happening, watched her soften in ways most people didn't even realize she could. So when the Lieutenant said she'd thought Alexis might've told her, that she was getting better at talking, it didn't surprise him. It just made the silence she left behind feel that much heavier.
—What are we looking at?
He forced her to refocus, pulling both of their attention back toward the house. Olivia shifted, as if only remembering about the case.
—Family of four. Parents, teen daughter, little boy. All of them found dead by the father's brother who stopped by to drop off Christmas lights. The door was unlocked. Nothing's stolen, but...
The sights were still vivid in her mind. The bodies had been carefully moved and placed so as to leave a message. Blood had splattered everywhere, leaving trails on the floor. Both mother and daughter had suffered violence and abuse before being killed.
—Brutal doesn't begin to cover it. Some kind of religious undertone–scripture carved into the floors, handwritten notes on the walls. It's...
—Twisted.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 6
Langford House — Manhattan
01:14 AM
The kitchen table looked more like a murder board than the heart of a family home.
Printouts and photographs had taken over the soft floral tablecloth Ava insisted on keeping year-round. Bible verses were scrawled on yellow legal pads, half a dozen highlighters lay uncapped, bleeding color into the wood beneath them. A tableau of violence was all Miles could see. Each evidence captured the grotesque aftermath of a family's annihilation: the father, the mother, the daughter and son, their lives extinguished in an almost ritualistic way.
The words haunted him. Words written in blood and etched into skin, words meant to condemn, to purify, to punish. His fingers traced the edges of the Bible that lay among the files–his own relic from a past life, its pages annotated with the scribbles of a younger, more devout boy. He could still remember the sting of the wooden spoon against his skin, the taste of soap as his father forced it into his mouth to 'cleanse the lies'.
"He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him"
"Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."
Phrases his father had used like weapons.
Phrases Miles had once memorized alongside spelling words and the Pledge of Allegiance.
He drew in a breath through his nose, held it, and exhaled slowly. The silence of the house pressed down on him, different from the usual quiet that came with the late hour. This was something heavier. Oppressive. Every page on the table felt like a doorway into a past he thought he'd buried deep enough to forget.
Until this case.
Until a killer began using the same distorted gospel to justify atrocities.
Four victims in one day. Two other families targeted in another state. All with the same ritualistic pattern: scripture carved into walls, Bibles left open to marked passages, the same words whispered by the dying girl who clung to life long enough to speak.
"He said it was for God."
Miles rubbed at his neck, fingers pressing into the tense muscles just above his collarbone. The killer wasn't just quoting scripture–he understood it. Twisted it with precision. This wasn't zealotry. This was personal. Educated. Cold.
And somehow, that made it worse.
From upstairs, the house creaked—a soft, sleepy sigh of wood in the winter wind. Outside, December had buried the neighborhood in frost. The windows were fogged at the edges, and despite the heat running low, there was a chill in the air that made his skin feel tight.
The stairs creaked behind him. He didn't need to turn to know who it was. The steps were slow, careful, almost too quiet. Ava had always moved that way when she didn't want to startle him—especially on nights like this.
—You're still up, she said softly, padding barefoot across the tile.
She wore one of his old shirts, sleeves pulled down over her hands, her voice the kind of warm and low that only came when she was worried.
—I could say the same about you.
He glanced back with a tired half-smile, taking in sight the woman he had once promised everything to. No matter the years, Ava was still the most beautiful woman in the world–even when she wore that concerned frown.
—I woke up and you weren't in bed.
She paused, looking at the mess across the table. Her eyes moved over the photos, the notes, the quotes underlined again and again. Miles had been called abruptly on Sunday night. She'd seen him leave in a hurry and, for once, hadn't had the chance to be reassured when spotting his partner's car in front of the house. Alexis hadn't returned yet. He had left on his own. If he hadn't said anything about the affair during the evening, Ava already knew it was nothing ordinary.
—It's the case?
—Yeah. He reached for the legal pads and pushed it a few inches to the side. It's the case.
Ava didn't need to ask what kind. He saw it in her eyes—recognition. Sadness. That edge of protective fire that always sparked when the past tried to claw its way into their lives again.
—He's not just using the Bible. Miles dragged a hand down his face with a sigh. He knows it. Word for word. Book, chapter, verse. He's not guessing, Ava. He's quoting it like a sermon. Like he's preaching.
She came to stand behind him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and pressing her cheek to the top of his head. It was quiet for a moment: her breathing with him, him trying to breathe at all.
—It's hitting too close.
The agent didn't deny it.
He let the silence stretch.
—You remember when I was ten and I lied about breaking the garage window?
Ava's arms only tightened. She had heard the story before. It was part of the secrets they preferred to confide in each other rather than turning them into threats to their happiness.
—He washed my mouth out with soap, Miles said, barely above a whisper. Told me it would cleanse the sin. That lying was the Devil's tongue. Then he made me read Proverbs 12 aloud. Every verse about honesty. Over and over. Until I could recite it without stuttering.
His wife exhaled softly, her hand moving to the back of his neck, warm and steady. She wanted to envelop him, keep him away from all that darkness. It was all he'd ever known before her. All that continued to haunt him.
—He's not here anymore, Miles.
—But someone like him is. He looked up to her, jaw clenched. Someone who thinks pain is redemption. That blood is sacrifice. That fear equals obedience.
She stepped to one side, her soft, slender hands wrapping around his face. Somehow, she could still see in him the young boy she'd known. Timid. Haunted.
—And you're not that boy anymore. You're not a scared kid trying to survive in that house. You're the one protecting people now.
—I just... he hesitated. I wish she was here.
Ava stilled, her thumb resting on the man's dark eyebrow. She didn't need any clarification. She just knew. There were three women in Miles' life. His wife. His daughter. And–
—Lexi. She gets this kind of broken logic. She sees through it. And she'd know how to put herself between me and this damn spiral.
The brunette sat down across from him, gently nudging his coffee aside to take his hands.
–She'll come back, baby. You know that.
—Yeah, but when?
His voice cracked before he caught it, and he turned away, embarrassed. He loved to joke about Gray being a ticking time bomb and how she'd had that effect when she arrived at the New York Bureau. But one thing he never said was how much this woman had become family.
—She left the day after Halloween. You've been holding your breath ever since.
—I didn't realize how used to her being around I'd gotten until she wasn't. She's always just... there. No matter what. Even when I don't ask.
—Because she sees you. The real you. She doesn't flinch away from it.
—I don't want Charlie to grow up seeing that side of me, he said suddenly. The side that can't sleep. That spirals into these memories and won't let go.
Ava reached across the table, suddenly puzzled by one of the Bible verses on one of the pages. She tapped on it, bringing the legal pad closer.
—For the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. That one never made the cut when your father was preaching, did it?
—No. It didn't.

LOVE, SIMON 2018
You are still you, Simon. You are still the same son who I love to tease and who your father depends on for just about everything. And you're the same brother who always complements his sister on her food, even when it sucks. You get to exhale now, Simon. You get to be more you than you have been in... in a very long time. You deserve everything you want.

This is going to sound really stupid but I have to post it as I need it written down. I’m a Stargate Atlantis long time (obsessed) fan, been reading fan fiction exclusively for that show for years, until Masters of the Air. Now imagine this…..
One day Atlantis is just going out its normal day when Chuck notices something strange on the scanners. They send Major Lorne out in a jumper to investigate. As he get close, and can’t quite believe what he sees, he cloaks the jumper. What Lorne sees is a flight of B17’s. Damaged B17’s. Cue Radek and Chuck trying to get them on the radio. Turns out they are from the Schweinfurt–Regensburg Raid and are trying to make it to Algeria, they have no idea where they are, the compasses aren’t working, they should be over land but suddenly all they see is sea, they have wounded on board and are running out of fuel.
Atlantis manages to make contact and tells them the only land for hundreds of miles is the city and they can land on the piers. Curt’s Fort is still with them, trailing behind, Dickie is still alive and the rest of the crew managed to bail out over land, which was there one minute and gone the next, so as they are now over sea Curt is just tying to keep them in the air.
Anyway they all land okay, Beckett, Keller, Biro and the rest of the medical team patch everyone up. Dickie goes straight into theatre. Colonel Shepard is now stuck not knowing what to say as it appears the Forts have traveled through a hole in time and space. No they can’t contact their base or the 12th in Algeria.
The only thing Atlantis can do is contact Stargate Command (Earth) and ask for the records showing what happened to each man and plane. If they landed in Algeria when they should have then Rodney McKay, Radek and team find a way to send the B17’s and crews back the way they came, if however the records show all the crews MIA from that raid then they never go home.
Of course it’s more awkward for Dickie and Curt as saving Dickie probably means more surgery than they would have had access to in 1943 so it looks like Curt and Dickie are definitely stuck in the future.
And what if they did go home, and they took a letter written by Rodney, which they gave to Chick Harding who managed to get to Catherine Langford after the war, who passed it onto General Hammond, who passed it onto Samantha Carter so she at least knew they were coming, but didn’t know exactly when?
Anyway, I’m not a writer, I am just a bit obsessed with this blend of these two shows. I have a whole story in my mind.

A guest star from 2005 returned for the special.
Episode 1's title was coincidentally spoken aloud in a third-season episode of Star Trek: Picard. It includes the words roar, Glastonbury, and conquistador.
Episode 2 contains the words Liverpool, legions, and non-diegetic. Scene 10 begins "INT. CANTEEN. DAY."
RTD thinks episode 4 is one of the best things he's ever written. The line "I once went to the top of the Shard" was cut from it.
The script for episode 7 begins with the line "INT. COFFEE BAR, USA — DAY, 1947".
Episode 8 will contain the words kingdom, gold, and Tigella. Scene 73, featuring the Doctor and Ruby in the TARDIS while "enemies are being fought", was the last scene filmed for the season.
Tumblr media
There's a 1960s episode, featuring the Doctor and Ruby in snazzy period outfits.
Tumblr media
The episode guest-starring both Varma and Groff will be set in the Regency era. "Dress to impress, and beware the Duchess."
CREATOR RAMBLINGS
According to RTD, we will be "staggered" by the 2023 festive season surprises.
There are monsters which are "impossible to describe" without referencing Fourth and Seventh Doctor adventures.
RTD promises that there are "plans still unfurling" which have yet to be made public.
Production designer Philip Sims said he was excited about "designing a new Dalek".
Davies has hinted that the blue doors Michelle Greenidge and Anita Dobson were photographed with are significant.
Script editor Scott Handcock mentioned filming which required nine babies, as well as Ncuti and Millie.
Monsoon's first day on set "teams her with an unexpected name from the Tom Baker era".
Anita Dobson has said she's playing Ruby's neighbour, whose name is either Mrs. Flood or Blood.
RTD used a potato emoji while commenting on publicity photos from the Regency episode (Sontarans?). Davies was also very coy about the identity of Groff's character.
RTD mentioned one episode having gone through three titles with no decision having yet been made. Another episode had "sixpence" in the title for a while, until the coin was cut.
RTD teased a famous guest star appearing in a scene with a giant statue head in the finale.
While writing about the final days of filming, RTD said that "Yasmin Finney wrapped a few days ago".
OTHER
Filming began on December 7, 2022 and wrapped on July 14, 2023.
Block One was directed by Dylan Holmes Williams. Block Two was directed by Mark Tonderai. It included the Christmas special. Block Three was directed by Julie Anne Robinson. It contains "two wildly different episodes, by two different writers". Block Four was directed by Ben Chessell. Block Five was directed by Jamie Donoghue.
Posters of the Doctor and Ruby.
Fifteen will be getting a brand-new sonic screwdriver.
previous
Leaks and sources below the cut!
LEAKS
Michelle Greenidge appears to be playing Ruby Sunday's mother. Since Greenidge and Millie Gibson are different ethnicities, she is presumably an adoptive, foster, or step mother.
Campaign posters for the "Albion Party", with Roger ap Gwilliam as the "Space Saviour", were spotted on location filming.
Jinkx Monsoon is in the '60s episode.
Millie Kent is playing Valerie, and Sophie Ablett is Marti Bridges.
Mel Bush will be appearing in the season finale.
Reports from finale location filming, albeit second-hand, of someone on set saying, "This is where the Daleks come in".
According to his CV, Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy will be playing Carson in an episode directed by Julie Anne Robinson.
Davina McCall may be the returning 2005 guest star. She will apparently host a genealogy show on which Ruby appears, and will be crushed by a falling Christmas tree.
RUMOURS
UNIT may be getting its own spinoff. (SOURCE)
The DWM production journal has led some fans to theorize Steven Moffat will be returning as a writer.

FRIDAY, JULY 29
Manhattan, 7:42 PM
The driver refused to let her out.
A mile back, right after they passed the Hudson University campus, the clear road had given way to long stretches of traffic jam basking in the nearly set sun. Now the driver complained that his eyes were burning and that he could not possibly delay this delivery. He was already so late. What could happen to him if he screwed up again? Slaughtered, dumped at the bottom of the Hudson. Shot, locked in a barrel and sent to the only family he had left. Either way, it was certainly not as bad as what they were planning to do to this poor girl.
Lennie Holmes was curled up, the warm leather of the back seat burning the back of her thighs. She was suffocating in this car, all the more so since she had guessed the hazardous plans of the man behind the wheel. He fidgeted, his hair and forehead glistening with sweat as his fingers struggled to keep up with the beat of the radio. She had simply wanted to get back to campus faster.
Lennie had no other choice; with the vehicle at a standstill, she had to get away.
She sat up so slowly that her damp skin progressively peeled away from the leather. Hand squeezing the handle, she stopped, breathless, and looked up at the rear-view mirror. The man rubbed his eyes with his large fists, folding back the sunblind.
That was her signal.
The young woman pushed herself out of the car, tripping over her own feet. She ran, fast enough to lose her breath and gain a little time. He was behind her, at her heels, hand plunged behind his back to pull out his gun. If she had to die there, at least she'd have tried everything.
ϕ
Miles Langford was no man of God.
His neighborhood church hadn't seen him since his wedding. His father's cross had found a home in his bedside table drawer. And he hadn't said the blessings since he'd had dinner with his mother. His education should have made him very religious. He had attended catechism classes, taken part in the church choir and accompanied his parents every Sunday. His future was set.
—Lexi, slow the hell down!
The sleek black SUV took another sharp turn through traffic that had Miles nearly kissing the passenger window. He gripped his phone with one hand and the dashboard with the other, his jaw set. This was his life now. Far from the peace and quiet of the church and from his parents’ curses.
—I’m following your damn directions!
Behind the wheel, Alexis keeps her eyes glued on the road ahead, hands steady as she weaves in and out of lanes of vehicles. She has driven larger vehicles dozens of times, in worse conditions and on more dangerous roads. Yet, she managed to terrorize Miles every time she gets behind the wheel.
—You’re following them at the speed of a missile, he countered, squinting at his screen. I can’t even…shit, you’ve missed a turn!
—You said left!
—I was gonna say left!
The brunette swerved hard onto the next street, tires screeching. Beside her, her partner groaned, barely managing to keep track of the blinking dot on his screen — the suspect’s phone, still moving too fast. They could not lose him. Not now — so desperately close.
The case had landed on Alexis’ desk over the weekend. The file, then as thin as a sheet of paper, had been carefully placed at the top of her stack with a simple post-it note reading ‘GRAY’. She hadn’t asked any more questions and had hurried off to bother Miles at his own desk.
What had begun as a simple kidnapping quickly led the two agents to discover a much darker truth.
Stan, as he was known, had nothing working in his favor. Numerous complaints on his record for domestic violence and armed robbery. A wife and daughter gone from New York's polluted streets. And now charges of violent kidnapping, sexual assault and human trafficking were hanging over his head.
He certainly wasn't in charge of operations. Sure, he was tall and athletic, but not much of a thinking soul. He followed instructions precisely — taking on details of the girls, abducting them, abusing them and finally delivering them to the boss. In barely a week, he’d delivered at least three. Only he had made mistakes. Big mistakes.
—Okay, he’s heading east on–Jesus, Alexis! Brake!
Lines of stalling vehicles drew up in front of theirs as Alexis suddenly slammed the breaks. Miles felt his body lurch forward, only to fall back again, his head hitting the headrest. He closed his eyes.
Breathed in.
Then out.
Alexis was already outside the vehicle, her door left wide open. The blinking dot had stopped so close to them. The man had to be in line, only a few meters away. She surveyed the line of cars, the almost setting sun beating down on her.
She saw businessmen in wet shirts, groups of young people on their way to spend the weekend in the cool, mothers and children bewildered by the sight of a bulletproof vest and the FBI logo. Until she spotted his car — an old 2005 Ford Mustang. The driver and rear doors were open. The engine was still running. The leather in the back held a pair of women's shoes.
—Miles, get over here. I found his car.
The announcement was loud and clear in the agent’s earpiece. He was already on his way, his boots following the same route as those of his colleague. The car was indeed their suspect's - he recognized it by the false number plate on the back and the numerous scratches on the passenger door. He didn't need to see any more to be certain.
The scream that followed only confirmed their idea. It was raw, desperate, bordering on agony. A young woman of barely twenty-five sprinted toward them, her breathing ragged, terror rooted in her every step. Close behind, a man –their man– was charging her, gun in hand, his pace relentless.
—Help me! Please, help me. The victim collapsed in Miles' arms, clutching his bulletproof vest. He tried to kidnap me. He’s… He’s coming!
Frightened, she cowered against the agent, her dried-blooded hands covering her head. The poor girl was trembling so badly that Miles thought it was almost winter. He'd had to deal with dozens of victims in the course of his career - orphans, survivors and, sadly, women who'd sometimes barely escaped the inferno. Lennie Holmes was no different.
—Stanley Reed! FBI! yelled Alexis, her own weapon in hand. Put the weapon down and surrender!
Stanley hesitated for a moment. He had stopped in mid-stride at the sight of the feds, unsure of his next steps. The package was no longer in his possession. If he so much as set foot on the boss's premises, he was sure to die. He'd ruined everything. Lennie, sweet Lennie, was now in the arms of another man. He was sticky with sweat, a trail of scent following him. The beating of his heart was so intense it made his hands tremble. He couldn't surrender, it was impossible.
Alexis was on him as soon as he started running in the opposite direction. He was desperate enough to try and escape. She respected that; no one liked to admit defeat.
ϕ
Detective Amanda Rollins slammed the car door shut, eyes narrowing as she surveyed the scene. She had been told that the street was crowded with civilian vehicles. Now all that was left was the suspect's, the feds' and dozens of NYPD’s. There were officers on every street corner, near every building.
The Special Victims Unit had been called following a serious and alarming 911 call from a young woman, who had implied that she had escaped from a kidnapping.
It was a lot more than that.
—Uniforms have the perimeter locked down, reported Fin, coming up beside her. No sign of him yet.
Their suspect was on the run, somewhere within the perimeter. Last seen near his vehicle, before he ran off again. He could be anywhere - hiding in one of the buildings, threatening residents, or even up a tree. As implausible as it sounded, Amanda was no longer surprised by anything in this job.
Her lieutenant, Olivia Benson, stepped forward, scanning the scene, her instincts on high alert. She maintained that grave exterior, the kind that comes with years in this line of work–as a distasteful reward. Men like Reed, she'd met hundreds of them, each more sexually obsessed than the last. She knew they'd find him eventually.
Lennie Holmes was exactly the person they needed for this.
—Where’s our vic?
—With the fed. Amanda nodded toward a man and their likely victim. She hasn’t let go of him since he and his partner stepped in, not even when I took her statement.
The young woman had sheltered on the edge of an ambulance. Despite her shock, there was not the slightest sign of violence on her person. Blood under her fingernails, yes, but not hers. Beside her stood a man, brown curls falling almost in front of his eyes, a beard barely a few days old framing his jaw. His FBI-reading vest seemed to contain a muscular body, the kind ready for anything.
Olivia read directly into his behavior. How he stood close to the victim, listening, hands gripping the top of his vest, in order to establish a trusting bond while maintaining a certain distance from the young woman. He wasn't looking to play the hero or indulge some sense of dominance. And unlike the federal agents she'd encountered a few days earlier, the man didn't seem overly guarded.
—Lieutenant Benson? SVU?
The federal agent offered a polite smile to Olivia and her detectives, shaking hands first with her, then with Fin and Amanda.
—Special Agent Miles Langford. Violent Crimes Unit.
Violent Crimes Unit. Olivia had already heard about it. A unit of the Criminal Investigative Division in charge of kidnappings, serial murders, organized crime such as humans, drugs and weapons trafficking, and last but not least, high-profile homicides. If Stanley Reed was on their list, it wasn't to kill time.
—Mind telling me what’s going on?
—We’ve been tracking Stanley Reed for the past few days, started Miles, leading the detectives away from the ambulance. He’s connected to a human trafficking ring we’ve been trying to dismantle. He's not the mastermind, but he kidnaps the girls, abuses them and then delivers them to the boss.
Fin found the whole thing hard to believe. It wasn't the first time his path had crossed that of the feds. They were always ready to take all the credit, even if it meant stealing suspects and making them disappear. He shot Olivia a skeptical glance, arms folded against his chest.
—Then what? This girl gets kidnapped, calls the cops and you just happen to show up?
Miles seemed caught off guard. He was well accustomed to this quarrel between the police and the bureau; it was nothing out of the ordinary. Still, he was proud to say that he and Alexis managed to work easily with the NYPD under normal circumstances.
Perhaps Alexis's reputation actually had something to do with it.
A commotion from between the two buildings surprised everyone. A man, recognizable as Stanley Reed, climbed up the fire escape until he reached the stairs. He seemed to be limping, his thigh now red with blood, but even that did nothing to stop him. He was too focused on the woman after him.
Alexis was moving with purpose, her hands and feet finding purchase with practiced ease. She had no trouble hoisting herself up the ladder. Nor did she have any trouble catching up with Reed on the stairs. Within seconds, she was hoisting herself up on the roof, sprinting along the edge, effortlessly closing the gap between herself and the fleeing suspect.
—Who the hell is that? asked the newly arrived Carisi. Is she NYPD?
No one replied, not even Olivia. All eyes were fixed on the roof–on this unimaginable scene. Whoever this woman was, she was no ordinary civilian, the detectives were all equally convinced.
Stanley looked over his shoulder and caught a glimpse of the distance separating him from the agent. He had no other choice. The woman wouldn't follow him to the other side, would she? Despite the throbbing pain in his leg, he forced himself to pick up speed over the few meters he had left. In a last ditch effort, he launched himself off the roof, his body floating in slow motion before he crashed over to the other side, onto the second building.
Miles could feel everyone holding their breath. He was reassured–Alexis wasn't just making him nauseous. He could have forbidden her to jump via her earpiece, but he knew her all too well and was therefore more afraid of distracting her than anything else. So he covered his eyes with his hand, unable to watch his partner play top athlete.
Alexis followed suit. Her body gently adjusted to the motion, as if she were used to it. For those on the ground, it lasted hours; for her, just a few seconds. She landed on the other side in a perfect roll, bringing her straight to her feet.
—It’s over, Stanley! she called, weapon back in her hands. Stanley just stopped, back facing her. Get down on your knees and show me your hands!
ϕ
Carisi let out a low whistle, shaking his head as he kept his eyes fixed on the roof. He couldn’t believe it. He knew he would have lost the suspect by now if it had been him. Who's crazy enough to jump from one roof to another? His lieutenant would have lost her mind by now if anyone in the unit had attempted this.
—Well, that’s new.
Fin ignored him, moving closer to Miles again. This little act may have impressed the youngsters, but it certainly didn’t impress him. He's seen it all before.
—How did you get here just in time?
—We were tracking his phone, explains Miles under Tutuola’s glare. We didn't know about the girl. We saw an opportunity to catch him and followed it.
—You believe him?
Olivia rubbed her face gently. It's Friday night. She could have had dinner at home with her son and Ed. Instead, she's stuck with the feds.
—Miles, stop bothering the Lieutenant.
A hoarse voice was heard as the building's front door slammed in the distance. For the first time, the unit could take a look at the young woman from the roof. Brown hair pulled back into a bun that's seen better days, cargo pants, a simple plain T-shirt, tactical bulletproof vest and tactical boots to finish it all off.
This woman wasn’t from the NYPD or FBI.
No matter what she said.
—Why don’t you get our new friend here ready for his ride?
Alexis pushed the handcuffed Stanley over to Miles, a smile on her face. It wasn’t cocky or petty, or even ear-to-ear. No, it was quiet, discreet–an ounce of teasing to remind her partner that he had nothing to worry about. It was enough for Miles to roll his eyes and lead the criminal to the SUV via a grip on his shoulder.
As soon as the suspect was out of the way and the victim on the way to the precinct with Amanda, Olivia turned her full attention to the young woman facing her. Hard to imagine that such a person had just climbed to one building's rooftop to jump to another. It was reckless. Foolish, even.
—You didn’t think to loop us in before chasing a suspect across rooftops?
Carisi had often heard this tone coming from his superior. They’d all heard it before, in fact. Olivia was the longest-serving member of the unit. She was also the one in charge of damage control, of setting rules and making sure they were applied. The police tended to lose far too many of their officers to reckless acts. Under her leadership, that wouldn't happen.
—Lieutenant Benson, right? Alexis simply offered her hand after removing her glove. Special Agent Alexis Gray, FBI. You’ve met my partner, Miles.
Olivia was met by a calm and respect she'd never encountered from a Federal. There was something special about the way Gray had shaken her hand. Like a way of saying that she wasn't the enemy, that it was all a misunderstanding.
—We’ve been after Reed for days. I had no intent of cutting you off from the case. Alexis sounded honestly sorry. She walked a few steps with the Lieutenant before coming to a halt again. We were caught off guard when we arrived on the scene. Lennie Holmes is at least the fourth woman to fall victim to Stanley. We never expected to catch him red-handed.
Peering over the agent’s shoulder, Olivia caught a glimpse at Fin’s doubtful expression. She could already hear him saying that the feds were all the same, and these two didn't stand out. They were going to lose their suspect, lose their victim and then their case. At least, that's what normally happened. But Fin didn’t know Gray.
No one really did. Not yet.

POPPY REED (REBECCA RITTENHOUSE) HAS FOUND.
Connection: Younger Sister
Suggested Name: First name UTP, but last name would be Reed. They should have a nature based name like their other siblings - Poppy, Linden Jasmine (Who is their half sibling
Age Range: 29-34
Species: Witch or newly turned vampire/werewolf
Suggested FCs: UTP; We would prefer a blonde fc and some suggestions are Elizabeth Lail, Brianne Howey, Grace Van Patten, Virginia Gardner, Margot Robbie, Halston Sage, Jenny Boyd, Britt Robertson, Olivia Holt, Lily James, Josephine Langford, Madelyn Cline
Connection Description:
The twins were 6 they were taken away from Boston and memory wiped by their mother to forget Silas. They also had their last names changed to their mother’s surname. Your character would have been a baby/toddler still so most likely wouldn’t be subjected to as strong or any memory wiping at all.
They have a half sibling named Jasmine Chamberlain, that they were unaware of until 3 years ago when she came to town and told them of her existence.
Alyssa Reed remarried quickly to Miles Hale who would be their step dad as they grew up. Likely it was possible that they were close to Miles, since they would be the youngest and didn’t have a father figure already in their life.
Your character would always be have been treated as the baby of the family by the twins and their parents. They would be the one constantly protected and sheltered from the darkness of the world around them.
After the twins went away when they turned eighteen they were probably put even more on a lockdown by Miles and Alyssa and weren’t allowed to leave Lunar Cove. Wanting to prevent the family image from further being tarnished/losing another child.
When Miles and Yasmin (the former supreme) both died in 2022. Alyssa shaped your character up to be the next supreme even though they never wanted it. Thankfully they failed out of the trial pretty quickly, which cause discourse with Alyssa. Especially when Poppy later became Supreme.
In June 2023, Poppy was murdered by Kyle Kane. It caused an uproar in the coven which all present members (and non coven members) voted that she be brought back. Jasmine brought Poppy back, but as a result for bringing a her back Alyssa Reed died in her place.
Your character would also be aware Silas Chamberlain is their father since he was in town during December 2023, and he was turned into a werewolf by Nico Castillo. The family is still unsure where he is now, but they know someone like Silas doesn’t just die.

Doctor Who: RTD Makes Interesting Kate Lethbridge-Stewart Comment
Should we be reading into Doctor Who Showrunner Russell T. Davies's Instagram comment regarding Jemma Redgrave's Kate Lethbridge-Stewart?
Published Sat, 30 Sep 2023 15:38:08 -0500 by Ray Flook
When the BBC, Disney+ & Showrunner Russell T. Davies's David Tennant & Catherine Tate-starring Doctor Who's 60th-anniversary event hits in November, the global community will have a chance to celebrate the long-running sci-fi series. From there, we have a Christmas Special before the new year brings a new series with our Fifteenth Doctor Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson (companion Ruby Sunday) taking charge of the TARDIS. One major player who will be assisting both Doctors in their efforts to keep the world safe is Jemma Redgrave's Kate (Lethbridge-) Stewart. Following in her family's footsteps as the head of UNIT, Stewart was first introduced during Matt Smith's run (S07E04 "The Power of Three") – and is now taking on an epic, "summer action movie"-type role based on the recently-released 60th anniversary trailer. In fact, rumblings have been pretty steady that Davies is considering a "WHO-niverse" spinoff focused on Stewart & UNIT – which may explain why folks like us are reading into Davies's comment on a recent Doctor Who Instagram post spotlighting Redgrave's character.
Tumblr media
After noting that "A new era of Kate Lethbridge-Stewart approaches…" as the caption to the post, Davies responded with, "What? Who told you that? How did you..? Oh damn it " (with three angry emojis). Now, could Davies be making a joke about it being a spoiler considering the news and visuals have been out there for a while? Sure. But he could also be teasing that there's more to the "new era" part, possibly something in the near future? Sure. Let's us know in the comments section below what you think:

Doctor Who: Jemma Redgrave on Series 14, UNIT Spinoff Rumblings
Thanks to the folks over at Good Morning Britain, Redgrave was able to offer some insight into her involvement in the new series as well as those rumblings of a UNIT spinoff earlier this month. "I have been back in one episode in Series 14, and it was such a wonderful thing to be part of that family. I've never taken it for granted that I will be brought back, but it was absolutely tremendous, and to be part of Russell T. Davies' new vision is so exciting," Redgrave shared regarding her work on the new series. Unfortunately (at least, for now), Stewart and Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor won't be sharing any screen time – but Stewart and Gibson's Ruby Sunday will. "I haven't yet got to work with Ncuti [Gatwa], I worked with Millie [Gibson]," she added. " As for that spinoff talk, Redgrave knows as much as the fans do – but she did get a personal perspective on the speculation. "I don't know anything about a spinoff," Redgrave responded – before also sharing, "Somebody in my book club did message me and say, 'I saw something about you having a series,' and I said, 'I've heard nothing about it and I shall call my agent.'"

Along with Jemma Redgrave (Kate Lethbridge-Stewart), Aneurin Barnard (Roger ap Gwilliam), and Jack Forsyth-Noble (Will), Doctor Who Magazine #589 also confirmed that Bhav Joshi (Wedding Season), Eilidh Loan (Traces), Pete MacHale (Gangs of London), Miles Yekinni (Slow Horses), and Hemi Yeroham (Mamma Mia!) have joined the cast for the new series. In addition, Jinkx Monsoon (RuPaul's Drag Race) was also confirmed to have joined the cast – followed by Jonathan Groff (Glee, Mindhunter) and Indira Varma (Obsession, Game of Thrones) – as The Duchess – in May 2023. Bonnie Langford was confirmed to be returning as Melanie Bush in June 2023, along with Lenny Rush (Am I Being Unreasonable) as Morris. In early August 2023, we also learned that Gemma Arrowsmith (Gemma Arrowsmith Sketched Out) and Mary Malone (Vera, The Prince) had joined the Christmas Special – while Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy (Hollyoaks) and Billy Brayshaw (Still So Awkward) had joined the Series 14 cast.
