Itachi shoved the thermometer back into the drawer maybe a bit more violently than necessary and resolved to pretend he had never used it. Fever? What fever? Itachi was a strong Konoha shinobi and about to embark on his first ever overnight training session with his team. His team of ANBU agents. Because Itachi had made ANBU. 'And ANBU agents,' Itachi thought, firmly shutting the drawer. 'Do not get sick.' Or; Itachi gets sick. A "training session" gets turned into more of a "sleepover at the captain's house" (much to Shisui's delight) as team Ro takes care of him.

What's that?? A Team Ro kid Itachi sick fic?? Ft. Begrudgingly team mom Kakashi, still recovering from ROOT but trying his best to protect his teammates the only way he knows how Tenzo, and Shisui just kind of having a good time? In the wild??? Well now you have to read it.

A Terrified Teacher At Ghoul School Episode 17 Review - The Last Days Of Summer

The summer vacation arc is coming to a close as the students spend their final days going to the beach and doing their remaining homework. It���s a fun episode overall as the boys get into shenanigans as well as having Sano and Haruaki learn a lot about youkai lore.

The beach portion of the episode was just fan service and comedy in one. Remember how we had reverse fan service in Episode 8 where the girls were peeping at the boys? Well, we finally get the usual anime fan service with the boys being the stars. They go to the beach to try and hit on girls using Sano as bait, but things go awry when Mame acts like a rabid Tanuki around some girls approaching him. Not only do the boys get fan service, but the girls of Class 2-3 also show up in cute swimsuits! I have to say, Renjou was serving cunt in that swimsuit and hat combination. The chapter that this half of the episode was based on is actually an earlier chapter that took place at the same time as Haruaki going to Rintaro’s family’s home.

The craziness of the beach portion comes in the form of two sea youkai trying to hit on some of the girls, so the boys step up to try and save them from the pests. Although Satelight’s art for this show isn’t the prettiest, I do admit that the watery effect for the two water youkais were really nice. The Funayurei is voiced by Jin Ogasawara who is a rookie. The Umibouzu is voiced by Fumiya Imai; if you’re familiar with Project Sekai and/or Given, he’s Akito Shinonome and Hiiragi from those respective media. Since Taito Ban voiced Shizusumi from Given, it’s basically Shizu throwing mud at Hiiragi in a way. Though, the Funayurei was quite a threat with his abilities. The Umibouzu didn’t show his ability as Fuji froze the water and getting him and some of the boys stuck. Unfortunately, the Funayurei messed with the wrong guy as destroying the sand tanuki that Sano and Mame were making caused the former to summon his lighting magic to electrocute everyone. Never bother Mame or Sano will throw hands.

I did like the transition from the beach segment to the homework segment. The second half takes place in the last day of summer vacation, August 31. Sano is struggling with his youkai studies homework as he needs to write a report about youkai birth. So, he and Haruaki decide to go to the homes of the Class 2-3 students to learn about how they are conceptualized. In Yanagida’s case, he’s born from spirit magic that his parents put in an object; the fact that all the Yanagida family are voiced by Tomokazu Sugita is hilarious. Animal youkai like Mame normally produce a lot of offsprings, so it’s normal for them to have a big family with many siblings. I think Odawara’s story of how he became the first chouchin-kouzou and how he creates them was so interesting; he basically asexually reproduce them! 

Starting with Odawara, the topic of how youkais came to be become a topic of interest as there are many theories. Odawara says that he was born from a soul of a sinner. Takahashi says that youkais are born from the souls of sinners. Yamazaki says that gods curse humans into youkai as punishment. This gets Sano down as it’s revealed that he’s not a youkai but a god. Despite the serious confession, Haruaki already knew since the beginning as there was a note in his roll call file; he never brought it up because he felt as if it was a sensitive topic for Sano. I do like that Haruaki is considerate of his feelings and never reveals people’s secrets. I think the whole lore of how youkais come to be is so interesting because as a viewer, you’ve adjusted to them for a while that how they come to be feels like a question in the back of your mind.

Though, there is a topic of interspecies relationships when Haruaki and Sano go to Hijita’s place. While Hijita’s sister did marry a human man, their future child would be half youkai. Interspecies couples like the Hatanakas could either have youkai genes from either parent, or they could be a new hybrid altogether. However, if a human and a youkai were to marry and conceive, it’s more straining for the mother if she’s human. Given how this topic cuts to Nyuudou when brought up, it’s foreshadowing something; I know what it is, but I’m not spoiling for anime-only people.

The ending was hilarious. First we had Yanagida finding the serious atmosphere awkward as he just learned about secrets he feels as if he shouldn’t hear them, so he grabs the fireworks and blows it up. Then, we have Hatanaka destroying Hijita because he didn’t do his homework. RIP, Hijita. You’ll be seen next episode.

A lot of people already talked about the symbolism behind Naruto and Sasuke's zodiac signs, how it follows the theme of "wind makes fire stronger and keeps it alive" but it also applies to other characters? Like, Team Seven is formed by Kakashi (Virgo), Naruto (Libra), Sasuke (Leo) and Sakura (Aries), and after Sasuke leaves, Yamato (Leo) and Sai (Sagittarius) join the team. Team Taka is formed by Sasuke (Leo), Suigetsu (Aquarius), Karin (Gemini) and Juugo (Libra), probably a reference to how he recruited them to help him achieve his revenge. Speaking of Sasuke's family, they also follow this pattern, Fugaku (Leo) married Mikoto (Gemini) and had Itachi (Gemini) and Sasuke (Leo). Also water zodiac signs are probably part of the symbolism, because water can put off fire. Both Orochimaru (Scorpio) and Kabuto (Pisces) are threats to Sasuke (Leo).

Has Yamatohime-no-Mikoto been mentioned or alluded to in FSR and do you think the writers will do anything with her since they used Takeru? Do you have any guesses what type of relationship she would have with Takeru?

Saber never mentioned her in FSR, so I can't imagine her being mentioned anywhere else. We at least can infer that she isn't Amaterasu in the TM version because Saber didn't make any comment about Aria looking like their aunt.

Their relationship can be pretty much the same as in the myths. Emperor Keikou sends Takeru on to conquer more lands nonstop without ever giving him additional troops, Takeru cries to his aunt that his father wants them dead, and Yamatohime gifts her nephew with divine tools they need to win.

FSR's Takeru had both the female disguise and Ame-no-Murakumo, and while it's never mentioned where they got it from, what else could it be other than Yamatohime giving them the things they need?

A Terrified Teacher At Ghoul School Episode 18 Review - The Godly Teacher

To be honest, I thought Ebisu would appear in the next episode and that they would use this one to make it a transitional one where the class goes through shenanigans to start the second term, but I guess I can’t expect too much from an anime adaptation. Still, it’s finally nice to see Ebisu formally debuting. It’s funny how he’s wearing the same clothes from when he met Haruaki in Tokyo.

Any person can see that Ebisu is very suspicious. Heck, Rintaro and Mame could detect his suspiciousness. Is he really a teacher at god school? Is there really an exchange program where gods go to youkai school to teach? The previous episode says that gods look down on youkai due to their ties to sin. Ebisu is clearly someone who looks down on them, as shown back in episodes 11 and 12. In fact, the story explains very little about gods other than that some of them can get demote to youkai like the Ogata twins. What is god culture like? Do they have a thing where they don’t share the same surname because Sano and Ebisu clearly don’t despite being brothers.

Though, my question of him being a teacher might actually be a true thing because he has natural teaching abilities as he’s popular with the girls since day one and he’s more pragmatic compared to Haruaki who’s more compassionate. It’s because of his teaching style that Haruaki got all insecure and holed himself up under his desk in the faculty room.

I do like that this episode focuses on how Haruaki is like as a teacher as the story does focus more on the goofiness to the point that you wonder if any teaching is done. To be honest, Haruaki is a great teacher! While his students may not get the best scores, he does his best to tend to their needs and tutors them after school and during lunch break! Just look at the time and effort he went through to understanding the ways of the cat to make notes and workbooks that help Tamao in his studies. I also like that there are students who like his ways of teaching and even encourage him to be himself because that’s who the students love.

I do like that this episode also shows how fond Sano is of Haruaki even if he won’t ever admit it. He cares about him a lot and he even tried to ask him for help…but accidentally gave him his math and science books. I do wonder what caused Sano and Ebisu to be so distant as Sano is annoyed by his presence.

It is revealed that the reason why he got stuck with Class 2-3 is because they were pawned off to him by a suggestion made by Hatanaka as none of the teachers wanted the class. While that may be the case, it was a blessing for Haruaki as he finally gets to be a teacher and not run away. According to the author, Haruaki got really good grades as a student and went to a good university to get his teaching license. The author ranked the students in terms of how well they do academically and they ranked Haruaki as second. If you’re wondering why he’s so dumb, it’s because smart people tend to be the dumbest people because they only conserve their thinking and brain energy for certain tasks and they wear it out by the time they try to think of other things.

I can’t wait to see where the story will head now that Ebisu makes his debut. There are six more episodes left and I wonder where the anime will head in terms of content. How much can they squeeze in six more episodes? What do you want to see in the remaining ones? Let me know your thoughts!
