Besides American pop culture such as metal, is Miko a fan of the more traditional aspects of Japanese culture at all?

Hmm, this is a tricky question for me because I'm a born and raised American hapa. My half-Asian is Viet.

A lot of my thoughts for Miko were formed by conversations with a few Japanese exchange students, YouTube, Japanese language classes, online information, and what I would have liked to see from the show.

I'm going to be missing a lot of cultural context from a native perspective.

(That or I'm reading way too deep into this ask lol)

I really wish that we had more instances of culture clash or misunderstandings because it could have provided more depth to everyone by opening new dialogue and provided more context of the lore and character backgrounds.

As a character, Miko Nakadai comes off more like an American-born or as someone who's very comfortable in the U.S. from long-term exposure. Perhaps she has relatives in a different state? But then that opens more questions than answers. (It doesn't matter obsessed you're into a country or culture, the first hand experience is a shock.)

And it doesn't help she feels slap-dash in a way. She's vague in the sense that she has a lot of disconnected traits that don't really match up what we were given as viewers. It really isn't a surprise that she's a polarizing character.

Concept wise, the creators pulled a lot of inspiration from Harajuku fashion, so the colorful punk aesthetic does make sense in hindsight with the elements of Visual Kei and Kawaii. But that particular tidbit was released in the Transformers: Art of Prime book.

(As of now, it's nearly $5,000 on Amazon, but we have lovely people who may or may not share some pages online.)

It would have been so great if the show committed to the Japanese exchange student bit by giving more information about Miko's background besides her parents living in Tokyo. I know I made a comment about her parents are like Tatsu and Miku from Way of the Househusband, but that would have provided so much context on Miko's wildness and complete recklessness because the Vegas Effect can only explain so much. (It would make so much sense on how she went for the damn axe to wield against Soundwave! No hesitation from that girl!)

Shoot, even her favorite band, Slash Monkeys, is a Bulgarian rock band! There is nothing wrong with that, but give me/us a bone! Something minor, like a throwaway line about Japanese rock bands that did popular anime openings. (Y'all remember the grip the Big 3 had on our collective throats? Plus, the granddaddy of them all: Dragonball.) That could have built rapport, delved into cultural differences, and been a feel-good moment as the kids showed the 'bots different anime via movie night.

Bottom line, she confuses me on the same level as Orion Pax conundrum, so I just like doing things to make things make sense.

Poly Transformers: Prime x Hurt! Decepticons! Reader "Hurt" Part three

You fiddled with your fingers, it's been a month now...

You sat quietly agents Bulkhead and Arcee. You watched as Optimus, as cool as he was, talk about his time fighting Megatron. Your once leader... Optimus never yelled, hit, or even raised his voice at you. Not even a mistake made him angry. "What's wrong?" Arcee spoke up, and you turned to her. "I-I nothing..." You put your hands on your knees. Bulkhead moved his hand slightly. towards you. You acted like you didn't notice. Until his hand kept getting closer to you. You slowly put your hand besides his. Vents could be heard. Arcee rolled her eyes, and looked away. You jumped when you felt his palm on yours. You quickly acted like nothing happened as Optimus grown quite and just... Smiled? Leaders... Smiling? It felt like the whole team was looking at you. You just froze when Miko spoke up. "I ship!" Miko took a picture of your hands. You tensed up. "Miko. Your making the poor thing nervous." Ratchet spoke up. Did he call you poor thing? You tried to brush it off. But, this was the first time he didn't call you a dirty con... At least it was an improvement?

Later, you where helping Ratchet with cleaning out some space, when Ratchet called for you. "(Y/n)." You turned to see his face. "Do... Do you think of getting that removed?" Ratchet asks, pointing at your (place) where Decepticon logo was at... You, never really felt attached to it. But it feels bad to remove it. "I-I don't know..." You felt nervous asking that question. "Does it hold value to you?" Ratchet asks, as if he was talking about a big deal. "No... It just feels bad to remove it." You spoke softly. Ratchet nods, and places his hand and traces it. "It looks good on you." You blinked at him, and then smiled.

You made your way to your bedroom again, but was stopped by Acree. "Hey, I need your help." She made a hand motion to follow you. You did follow her, only hoping she wasn't going to beat you and tell you to leave. The last time that happened, you where lucky that you escaped. But no, she leads you to the main room, and stops walking. "Do you want your Decepticon marking removed?" You looked away. If you said no, would she understand? "I... I don't want it removed. I want to keep it." You said, and put your hand over the logo. Arcee nods. "Well, if you want it down, I'll remove it." Acree says, making you smile a bit. Maybe one day, but not now.

The next day, you stretched and walked out of your bedroom. Bee waved to you, and you waved back. That's when you you where tackled to the ground. "JACKIE!" Bulkhead yelled, and ran to get him off you. You looked up in fear as they both fight. "What's your deal?! There is a con-" "(Y/n) isn't a con! They joined us." Bulkhead defended you, slowly got up, dusting yourself off, and the bot known as 'Jackie' walks up to you. "Well, sorry about that," he puts out his hand, "Names Wheeljack." He puts out his hand for you to shake. You slowly reach up to his hand and grab it, only for him to lift it to his lips and kissed it. Your cheeks turned red! How- why?! "Nice to always meet a... Bot like you." He lets go of your hand and winks. Bulkhead look between you two. "I see you two are having fun." Bulkhead said, and take your side. You looked between the two, worried.

Later, you where helping Ratchet with learning new information, when Wheeljack walks over to you. "Hey Doc, and his lovely Nurse." Wheeljack winked at you. You blushed, and looked away. "Your looking away~" Wheeljack poked your cheek. You grumbled. "Cute." Your face expelled into a deep red. How-WHAT!?

The next few days was filled with Wheeljack's poor attempt to flirt. But... It worked on you, sadly. Much to Ratchet's poor temper.

When (Y/N) joined the team, everyone was on edge. Since the only other predacon they knew was predaking and he was not friendly.

(Y/N) understanding their fear and uneasiness when they also met predaking. So, to gain their trust, (Y/N) decided to gain Miko, Jack, and Raphaels trust first.

So, (Y/N) flu off to her cave were she called home for thousands of years were she saw the growth and fall of a bunch of human civilizations.

They grabbed 3 things for the kids that they knew they would love and flu to base.

He was confused when (Y/N) came up to him and handed him a leather book.

By touch alone, Raphael could tell it was extremely old.

When he opened it and saw the writing inside, he was amazed.

This wasn't some old book, this leather book belongs to the famous Greek philosopher Socrates.

He was amazed and ask (Y/N) how they got this and that they are very happy about it.

He showed Bumblebee and told him none stop about facts about the Greek empire.

Bee trusted (Y/N) a tad more after that.

Miko squealed when she saw what (Y/N) brought her.

She knew what it was but more amazed she was able to see one that was in perfect condition.

Miko was quick to put the armor on and stood tall proudly. She was extremely happy.

While she showed off to wheeljack and the other autobots, (Y/N) gave the swords to bulkhead. Since they know not to trust miko with them.

Miko starts to take selfie with the armor on and told things about Japanese culter to the other 2 kids.

Which was very surprising since miko never learned in school.

Jack was surpised when (Y/N) sets a chest down for him to take.

Confused, he opens it and gasped.

Inside was gold coins. Not any gold coins, gold coins that were from 550 BC.

He asked what this was for and (Y/N) explained that it was a gift to him from them since he trusted them and they are thankful for that.

Jack immediately used the gold to pay off any debt, his mom's debt, his soon to be collage, and to get better clothes.

Arcee respected (Y/N) more since they did not treat Jack like a kid.

Now it was morning as you haven't slept at all, everyone was now awake as everyone went to do their business

You told him that you were fine and that he should look at his t-cog

He was confused so he went over to find his t-cog fixed

He told Ratchet as ratchet was amazed by how perfect the t-cog was back in shape

Bee wanted to thank you but saw you asleep on the couch about to fall so he took you to his berth to rest

Bee was grateful to have his t-cog back and it was all thanks to you

Since you are quite good at fixing and building stuff back together

Let's just say Knockout came back with no car door on his arm which got you confused until he ranted on how Optimus just snatched his door off

So you had no trouble on fixing it for him even if it did take a while to fix since well he was bigger and taller than you but you managed

He was grateful to have someone like you on the team

You were great at fixing, building and handling all the weapons and tools of his

He is also grateful of how carefully and gentle you were even though you were more fragile than him alone

But he knew you were careful since you knew he didn't want his paint scratched or anything other than that

But knockout would always come to you if he was scratched, destroyed or simply broken on one of his limbs

Optimus Prime

You were quite good with technology like Raf

But you were quite the expert

You would always be there if there was a problem with the technology at the base

Of Ratchet would try to fix it by simply kicking it to see if that helps but its still funny to see

Right now you were in the base with only Optimus and Ratchet as the other were on a mission and suddenly the kids again seemed to tag along (It was Mikos idea)

So right now the ground bridge is broken as well as the commination link

Luckily for them, you were at the base to help with the problem

It did take you a while and you hoped the others could hang on for a bit more

Optimus was intrigued as you were working on the ground bridge, it had seemed you already knew what to do

Optimus was quite interested on how well you knew technology and you know what to do with the ground bridge that Ratchet build ages ago

Once you were done, Optimus then linked to the others as voices went though the comm link

Seeming that you fixed both the communication link and the ground bridge

Optimus told you that you did a good job on handling that on your own

And you letting him ramble and vent had created a special friendship between you two, one that had began to make you have butterflies every time you looked at him, one that made your core heat up with no warning.

You would do anything to show him you cared. No more hiding the feelings you had for him, no more avoiding eye contact because you were scared he could tell how much you enjoyed his company. This year you wanted to do something that would show him just how much you appreciated him and how you really felt about him.

As you pulled into the base, your heart raced with nerves. If he was here, your whole plan to talk to the other Autobots would be tossed out the window, and then you might as well just tell him how you feel anyways and leave to save yourself the embarrassment of his rejection.

‘Solid escape plan y/n. If all else fails, just run away and move to another state! He’ll never find me if I do that!’

Walking into the base, you kept an ear out for the familiar, deep voice of the fearless Prime, breathing a sigh of relief when you realized he wasn’t there. “Hey guys! Whatcha up to?” Bulkhead and Bumblebee sat behind Miko and Raf, watching them play some racing game against each other.

Bumblebee waved at you, chirping his hellos and Bulkhead got up to greet you, carrying you down into the main area where they all sat. “Hey y/n! How’s it hanging?” Miko paused the game and turned on the couch to look back at you, Raf following her actions. “Not much honestly, but I need to borrow you two-“ you pointed at Bee and Bulkhead “I need to ask you guys’ opinion on something.”

They got up and walked towards one of the hallways where you all could talk privately, leaving Miko and Raf to play their games once more as you followed them. “Alright. Do you two know what Valentine’s Day is?” They both nodded, “Yeah we’ve heard about it from the kids. Why?” You took a deep breath, were you really about to tell these two that you had feelings for their leader? Bumblebee's eye's lit up, he started buzzing and chirping happily at Bulkhead before calming down and letting Bulkhead take in what he was saying. "Hold on y/n, you're gonna ask Prime to be your Valentine?!" Your cheeks heated as you nodded, looking down at your feet. "Y-Yeah, I am. We've created a.. bond. He's someone I would consider closer than a best friend." The two bots smile at each other, letting your embarrassment calm before you continued. "I just want to do something for him that shows I really do care. Is there any customs on Cybertron that you would do to show someone you're interested in them romantically?" They thought for a second before a third voice chimed in. "Why not just tell him how you feel?" Bee and Bulkhead stepped aside as Ratchet walked up to you three. "I've known him the longest out of everyone here, and he would appreciate the honesty, especially since you two already have the kind of bond that's built on trust. I haven't seen him care for anyone like this since before the war."

Your face heated again and you took another deep breath. "I just want to show him that I care about his culture, if I do something that would mean a lot to him back on Cybertron then wouldn't that be best?" Ratchet shook his head "As much as I wish that were a good idea, Optimus misses hi- our home desperately. You may end up making him feel more sad than happy about your confession."

You nodded, sad that your original plan wouldn't work, but happy that Ratchet helped you before you made a mistake. "So you really think I should just tell him how I feel? No special gesture or anything?" He nodded as Optimus and Arcee drove down the hallway you all were standing in, transforming when they saw you. "Y/n? Is everything okay? You look stressed out." Optimus was the first to speak, him noticing your stressed expression right away making your heart flutter. "Y-Yeah! I'm okay! But I kinda have something I wanna talk to you about, preferably in private if possible." He nodded, picking you up and placing you on his shoulder, walking towards his quarters. "So what's on your mind? You seem really nervous." You sighed, being alone with him actually calming your nerves some. "Well, do you know what Valentine's Day is?" He hummed in response. "I have heard of it, it's a romantic holiday correct? Do you have someone in mind to take out?" You nodded, "Yeah I do have someone in mind, but I think he's way too good for me. He's strong and Kind, and he never leaves anyone behind. Hell, he'd probably save the life of his enemies without a second thought." Optimus entered his quarters, setting you down on a balcony he had Ratchet build so that he could be eye level with you on the long nights you would spend talking with each other. “I see, well I wish you the best of luck with asking him, Any man would be a fool not to accept your hand.”

You blushed, looking at him nervously. “You really haven’t picked up on what I’m saying?” He looked back at you, confusion all over his face. “Optimus, will you go on a Valentine’s Day date with me? Tonight?” His face of confusion turned to one of shock as he stared for a few seconds, just long enough for your face to drop.

“N-Nevermind. I knew it was stupid to ask. I’m sorry for wasting your time.” You started to climb down a ladder connected to the balcony before his hand wrapped around you, stopping you from climbing farther down. “Of course I will Y/n. I’m just shocked you had the nerve to say something before me.”

You grinned happily, relief and excitement filling your body. “I’ll see you tonight then Optimus. Pick me up at my place around 10 tonight and we’ll go out into the middle of nowhere. Somewhere we can be alone.” He nodded, smiling back at you before setting you on the ground.

“I’ll see you then, goodbye y/n.” You waved excitedly before running as fast as you could towards your car, ignoring the other bots calling your name. You couldn’t believe that he agreed to go out on a date with you. And that he felt the same way!!

You checked yourself in the mirror for the 100th time, making sure your red button down shirt was tucked perfectly into your black skirt/pants, and you fixed your hair up making sure everything looked perfect. You saw two bright headlights shine through the curtains of your home and you ran out of the bathroom, taking a deep breath before going outside and climbing into Optimus’s cab.

“You look stunning, Y/n. You shine brighter than all of the stars in the sky.” You gripped the steering wheel slightly, blushing at his compliments, making him chuckle softly. “T-Thank you. I still can’t believe you agreed to come out tonight.”

“I would’ve been a fool not to. Like I said, any man or bot would be a fool to turn you down.” His constant compliments rang through your head, sending tingles down your spine that made you close your legs together to try and calm yourself.

“We don’t have too far of a drive, I already set up something special for us.” You hummed with curiosity. “What did you set up? I figured we would just talk and see where the night took us.”

“You’ll see, we’re only a few minutes away.” You looked out of the windows excitedly, trying to spot whatever he may have set up for the two of you. The stars shining down on the desert sand making everything look like a sea of glitter.

After a few long minutes you saw a small patch of light in the distance, and Optimus veered off into the sand, transforming and carrying you over to a lit up picnic area after he was far enough from the road that he blended in with the night.

“Oh Optimus, this is perfect.” He chuckled again as he set you down onto the blanket. “I’m glad you like it, I brought you some wine.” He sat down in the sand and handed you the bottle and a glass, the cork already popped for you.

You poured yourself a glass and moved to sit next to him, leaning against his leg and gazing up at him. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve waited for us to be able to do something like this?” You asked him, taking a sip of your wine. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve wanted this?” He replied, making your heart melt.

“Why didn’t you say something to me then?” He moved you into his lap, leaning back against a large rock. “Well, I’m from a whole different planet. And I’m a leader of a war fighting for that planet. I never wanted to put you in harm’s way.” You could understand that, your reasons were practically the same, except instead of worrying about yourself getting hurt you worried about him.

“I really thought you were going to turn down my advances. I thought you’d think I was weird for wanting to be with you since we’re different in so many ways.” He shook his head, looking up at the stars and placing his hand gently on your thighs. “That’s where we disagree. ok so like I know the bots are weary of water but do they understand just how important it is for life on earth? We can go far longer without food than water. I might even say it is the closest thing we have to energon. Water is everywhere, our planet lives and breathes through it. If they don’t know how would they react to knowing how much we need and all that. I can imagine ratchet making sure the kids drink more water and less soda. 😂

I freaking love this. Just, the bots always having water on hand ALL the time.

Miko gets in to Bulkhead's passenger seat? Water bottle. Rafael sits at his desk too long? Bee gives him a water bottle. Jack stays at work too long? Arcee will turn up with, you guessed it, a water bottle. The team worry for their squishy friends. You can never be sure with the soft ones. Best to just keep them hydrated and always have food on hand just in case.

Hello! I was just babysitting a friends toddler a while ago. He was four and already LOVED transformers. He expecially loved Bumblebee, and got this mini figure of a Bumblebee (I forgot what version unfortunately) that he thinks is like a guardian angel that can chase away nightmares and monsters and even turn him into a transformer one day as well! And this was SOO cute! So may I request a scenario of G1, TFP, TFA, as well as ROTB Bumblebee meeting a human equivalent of a sparkling that absolutely ADORED him and think he can do anything? Who even claims when he grows up he wants to be a transformer too just like Bee and fight alongside him one day?

All of this... so CUTE! First time I'm doing a multi version of the same character, so hopefully this turns out good! If this isn't what you wanted please let me know!

When he hears them talking about fighting alongside him, he tries to distract them with telling them about all the better ways of fighting the Decepitcons as a human.

This usually works and they get fixated on other things for the time being.

He does keep a close eye on the toddler in case they do try and go outside of the base or near Wheeljacks lab.

Gets Chip, Carly, Spike and Sparkplug to help better understand the dangers of being a bot and being out in the field.

Occasionally bringing in a guest bot… that’s fit to tell things to them.

Bee, like G1, is a bit flustered that they want to be just like him when they grow up.

When they mention about actually wanting to be a bot, he humors them a bit.

“Bop boop bep beep bep bop.(But being a big bot means that you can’t help Miko color anymore.)”--Bumblebee

But he is immediately against them going out to fight.

 He’ll highlight all the things they can do that he can’t do, that he needs their help to be able to do it. Buddy changes their mind… for now.

Bumblebee needs their help, so they are going to help him!

He is now on the lookout in case tiny decides to pull a Miko.

Teams up with Raf to explain why they can’t run head first into danger.

-they’re lowk scared of them LMAO.

-like they don’t know where they came from at first. They just randomly came out killing vehicons, which did help though.

-it was Optimus, bulkhead, and bee that first encountered them. The three mechs were on a mission trying to find some energon deposits they picked up and was surrounded by vehicons who were doing the same thing as them.

-out of nowhere a vehicon was ripped in half by two servos, revealing the insanely crazy bot who was covered in energon.

-let’s just say no vehicons survived after the chaos of Y/N.

-Optimus took them in and introduced them to the others while bee and bulkhead looked kinda scared (and maybe traumatized) from the scene they saw. They knew what Y/N was capable of after all.

-luckily, they join the autobots and all is well, as crazy and insane Y/N was still pretty loyal.

-Ratchet isn’t fond of them. Another bot that’s crazy and annoying?? Ugh. He wants to join the allspark at this point. One time he muttered that to himself and Y/N heard him.

“You wanna join the allspark?? I can help you with that!” they exclaimed happily. “NO!”

-Arcee is just glad they’re an autobot, she doesn’t want another Airachnid to give her PTSD.. she thinks their antics and mischief is kinda annoying, but as long as they’re loyal and helpful then she’ll like them.

-Bee is SCARED of them. After seeing them rip open all those vehicons he might just leak some oil. But after knowing them for a bit he gets fond of them and isn’t as scared..still kinda scared tho. Y/N likes his little beeps too</3

-Bulkhead is kinda the same as Bee, but more comfortable. He likes wrecking things, and so do they! They become good friends, they remind him of Miko but in hot form and not as..deadly.

-Optimus just respects their loyalty. He does question their ways of…thinking and actions during missions, but if they help it’ll be fine..but I can see that they’ll definitely make him upset after one mission and be scolded by him, causing Y/N to die down with the chaos a bit. Either way, he likes you. Doesn’t want you to change you ways:) (he’s like a dad)

CONS:

(Im only doing Megatron, starscream, knockout, BD, and Soundwave. I’m sorry my lovelies 😞)

-Knockout and starscream were doing a mission together, something about some energon deposits. They were accompanied by some vehicons as well for protection. (We all know damn well the vehicons dead. I love them tho)

-one of the vehicons noticed two F/C optics staring at them all and called them out, only to be pounced on and ripped in half by this new random bot.

-after that this new bot eventually focuses their optics on starscream and Knockout. Starscream noticed this and starts whining and screaming like a femme while Knockout and Y/N just stare at him like: “dafuq..?”

-After that..whatever it was..starscream and knockout convinced them to come along with them to the Nemesis. They get introduced to lord Megatron himself while Starscream and knockout told the warlord of their skills and what they did to the vehicons. He was impressed. So, with that they were now a con! Yayyyy!!!

-Megatron was impressed after hearing their skills. And, he dgaf abt their chaos and mischief. As long as they get their missions and duties done, they’re on his good side. (And as long as they’re loyal) he is amused at how some were afraid of them too (starscream, Knockout, and breakdown)

-Starscream lowk scared of them. He’s pathetic, but i love the lil guy. He doesn’t like going on missions with them ALONE. It’s like another Airachnid but prob worse all over again😥 kinda hates their loyalty to Megatron, be thought he could make them loyal to him when he becomes lord. (Never happened tho LMAO)

-Knockout is scared of them as well. Not as much as starscream tho. Doesn’t rlly talk to them as much, but he does compliment their skills whenever they go on missions tg.

-Breakdown doesn’t rlly talk to them, but after going on a mission with them he just met his new bestie westie! Both like chaos and wrecking things! Sooooo that just means they were meant to be besties😛

-Soundwave don’t like them at first cuz they remind him of Airachnid. But, once they prove their loyalty and dedication (and skills) he’ll become slightly fond of them. As long as they are loyal then he’s fine with them.

Tailgate was her team leader and father figure...

Then Airachnid killed Arcee's whole team, including Tailgate, right in front of her...

Only Arcee survived and she joins Prime's Team...

Arcee was cold with everyone, with Cliffjumper being the only one willing to talk to her...

Eventually, Arcee warms up to Cliffjumper and the others, when they later reach Earth...

Jack, Raf and Miko were friends before meeting the Autobots...

Jack, Raf and Miko meet Cliffjumper and Cliffjumper becomes Jack's partner, instead of Arcee...

Arcee agrees with Ratchet that Optimus getting human teens/kids involved in their war is a terrible idea...

Later, Megatron prevented Cliffjumper from the reaching the escape portal and Cliffjumper died from the spacebridge explosion...

That's when Jack, Raf and Miko truly realize how dangerous this war is, as they joined Cliffjumper's funeral...

Arcee became Jack's new partner and she became cold again...

However, Jack reveals that he knows how Arcee feels; Jack lost his dad 3 years ago and he still misses him... And Jack cared about Cliffjumper as well...

Arcee and Jack bond over their dead dads and the fallen Cliffjumper...

When Arcee and June officially meet, they get along and parent Jack together, but then they learn that Jack has grown up...

When Smokescreen arrives, Arcee is surprisingly patient with him, her bond with Jack making her much less strict...

Jack learns to be braver...

Even though Bulkhead was a wrecker and is great at fighting, he secretly doesn't like it...

He was a pacifist, that was forced to put his feelings aside for the war...

So, imagine how stressed he gets when he's partnered with the teen that loves all the giant robot battles...

Imagine Miko having control freak parents and trying to escape them by going on adventures...

Bulkhead and Miko don't get along at first; Bulkhead didn't like Miko's love for fighting and violence, while Miko thought that Bulkhead was dull and controlling...

However after Cliffjumper's death, Miko takes the war a bit more seriously and treats Bulkhead with her respect, in return Bulkhead teaches Miko hand-to-hand combat to defend herself...

Bulkhead and Wheeljack still had a wrecker friendship, but they also had a falling out of sorts, due to Wheeljack's ways being too violent...

Miko helps them patch things up eventually...

Miko learns to be kinder...

Oh the shenanigans! I've had similar ideas on this where Smokescreen only knows the Parxis dialect, not the common Cybertronian dialect. So no one knows what he's saying, not even the bots.

But even with just the humans not understanding, it's still amazing. Raf finally realizing how it feels is great. The bots having to translate, even to Raf. It'll be so funny. I love this idea.

Which one of the kids guardians do you think would have the biggest crisis about their kid, their little buddy, their partner in crime suddenly being either eye level or several heads taller than them?

I want to say Bee.

Like, Arcee might have a "yeah okay this might as well be happening" moment with Jack, and I think Bullhead would be both relieved that Miko can take an actual hit and be fine and terrified that Miko now knows she can take an actual hit and be fine (Wheeljack would be the one volunteering ways for Miko to get bludgeoned as a way of proving she's a Wrecker to the others that lived, and they'd be amused as how quickly she jumps at it).

But Bee had Raf. And Raf grew more confident over the years, but he was always kind of… quiet. Tried to avoid fights and did everything he could to calm any issues that arose. Damn great at what he did, but always preferred to be at HQ rather than on the field. Which was fine! The jobs at HQ are just as important and needed at those going out on the field.

And then he gets the call from Ratchet. And his friend, his fellow nerd and low key fast car enthusiast is a fucking Predacon.

I'm just going with the Other!AU with Miko x Tarn soulmates and cyberization because everyone there is having issues.

The Autobots' respective little buddies are making each of them really worried for different reasons. Ratchet had tried to prepare them, but nothing can help the old guardians with the newfound reality they're in since they also have similar biases Ratchet has (just not as extreme or set, even so well-meaning intentions can still led to harm).

Ironically, Bumblebee has it the easiest since Raf is essentially still the little brother he bonded with. Raf's Cybertronian root-mode is far more beastly compared to even a Predacon's. More reptilian. A true draconian hybrid. Raf is very much a Cybertronian equivalent, for better or worse, of a 'noble beast' stereotype and fantastical fiction of Ancient Cybertron. Bumblebee has to grapple with the unfortunate truths that Cybertron would never accept Raf. His once human partner would never be able to enjoy the things he loves on Cybertron. He would never set foot in a laboratory (unless Raf was the experiment), or go to shows and races (unless Raf was the main entertainment), or go traveling to across the city-states (unless Raf was literally the pack mule or the gift).

Arcee is now confronted that her kid is now the equivalent of a Cybertronian nudist with his habit of 'dressing down' as he slams on everyone's vulnerability kink out in the open. If Jack is on downtime in the privacy of his own space, then he's wearing sweats. He refuses to go dipping in full armature when swim trunks are available. He's relaxing dammit. Meanwhile, every new Cybertronian is literally inwardly sweating at the new handsome bird casually showing off his protoform as well as judging the Autobots for letting the mech strut around like the most confident hoe. (Miko and Raf really don't understand since Jack is wearing long-sleeves, and Jack is getting a fan club.)

Bulkhead has crisis after crisis after crisis. Miko is not only a rarity in two cases (a War-Forged and a Seeker femme), but she managed to seal the personal loyalty of a Primal Artifact (no one thought that was actually possible, so the Apex Armor is bonded to a new master) and has a Resonant. In a 'con. In Tarn of the Decepticon Justice Division.

And that Miko struck up a weird relationship with Soundwave. Something between learning, antagonism, and pranks. Scratch that, it seems like everyone now has a weird relationship with Soundwave at this point. Even Ratchet.

It doesn't help Bulkhead's worries over Miko taking every lesson of Ratchet's and Soundwave's combined teachings to become a living Cybertronian nightmare of an abomination as she works out the kinks in her yōkai transformation sequences. And her newfound fascination with freaking out new Cybertronians in general. And that she has no scruples against eating people.

(Jack and Raf are of the same vein but are more mindful of different cultural mores and adjust their behaviors as reasonably they can. Miko, however, is the product of a family that's too active Elsewhere, so her morals are a reflection of that.)

You looked at them all, with a smirk (Rival Name) next to them. Her smile made you want to attack her, but she sat in Bee's palm. "I-I..." You stopped talking. Everyone stared daggers at you.

'Your Vampire Empire'

"You may now leave." Optimus says, staring at you coldly. "Fine. Jackie-" You felt tears come out of your as Wheeljack turned around.

'I see there, rejecting all your earthly power.'

'Protecting and dissecting 'til you've emptied every hour'

"Just go. You've done enough." Ratchet said, it's like you all where not dating. The bridge opened up, and you where still in shock. "R-ra-" "Don't say my name." Ratchet was cold. You wanted to pull off your hair. "Fine. But don't expect me to come back!" You ripped the promise ring from your hand that they have you, and stormed out to your home.

'I wanted to see you naked, I wanted to hear you scream, I wanted to kiss your skin and your everything. '

The next month, it was so bad. You had no friends, besides Miko, who was the only one to believe you.

"Look... I may have lied about (Y/n) being really mean to me, but you guys wouldn't hurt me right...?" They felt betrayed by (Rival name). "T-that means..." Bee looked to you, and with big eyes full of tears, tried to ran to you, but Shockwave stopped him. "It is illogical of you to do that. It's logical that (Y/n) is ours now." Shockwave said coldly. Bee taken out his gun, but was stopped by Optimus. "We- Sweetspark-" "Do not call them your 'sweetspark'." Megatron growled. Wheeljack looked to you, pleading eyes that you would come with them, be happy again. Bee tried to get past Shockwave, but it failed.

Megatron turned to the spaceship, and started to walk away. Optimus held his hand out, but it was no use, you slipped right past his fingers.

Hey it's me from the yandere tfp autobots x kids(platonic) ask. First, I have to say what you did was great and I absolutely loved it! Second, I have an alternative way for this that I think is pretty cool.

What if the children actually managed to escape. For example, they were able to get into contact with agent fowler (maybe through a pager idk) and snuck out of base with June and was picked up by the military. And now the autobots are doing everything in their power to get "their" kids back home. Maybe they do end up getting the kids back or maybe they don't.

I liked the way you wrote the one before and would like this in the same way, but if you just want to comment on this and not write a whole thing again, I understand.

"Come on, Bee, this isn't you!" Raf pleaded, looking up at the scout. 

From where Miko was cradled in Bulkhead's arms, she could look over the giant, makeshift baby gate the autobots had fashioned for them, watching as Bumblebee tried and failed to distract Raf with one of their racing games. Raf's controller had long since been abandoned, with Bee ignoring the boy's pleas and puppy dog eyes as he kept focus on beating Raf's static avatar.

She'd been in there not too long ago, but was removed for 'upsetting Rafael' and 'throwing a tantrum.' Bullshit! Raf was upset already! They both were! And she had every right to be pissed and try to break things! They couldn't keep them here like this! It was crazy. It's what the *'Cons would do.

That comment and Rafael crying is what got her put in timeout - being plucked up from under her arms and wrapped up like a burrito in a blanket, held in Bulkhead's arms. 

"Some time with her Sire should calm her down," Ratchet had said as he passed Miko off to the green mech.

"Don't talk about me like I'm not here!" She yelled up, writhing in the tight hold of the blankets.

Bulkhead only smiled down at her, beginning to rock her slowly in his arms. "It's okay, Miko, I know you're confused. But, you'll see, this is for the best."

Miko huffed, gritting her teeth at the memory. She turned her attention back to Bee and Raf, the former responding to Rafael's begging with a series of beeps. Miko strained her ears to form some sort of sentence through the sounds. Sometimes, it almost seemed like the noises resembled some words, but maybe that was just coincidence. She didn't understand Bumblebee the way Raf did. But whatever the scout said, it sure sounded… Sad. Maybe she could take some comfort in knowing at least one of them felt bad.

"Ah, don't worry, Miko," Bulkhead's voice drew her eyes back onto him. "You'll be able to go back once you calm down."

"I am calm," she seethed through clenched teeth. "I am the most calm any person has ever been. Ever."

Bulkhead chuckled. "Well, you aren't squirming anymore, at least."

"Remember, she's a wily one," Ratchet called from over his shoulder. 

The wrecker chuckled. "Trust me, I'm well aware."

The death glare she shot the both of them must have been as piercing as she intended, all levity deflating from them the moment they met her eyes.

The smile that had run from Ratchet's face quickly returned, though, as he approached Bulkhead from behind, reaching over with a stubby digit to gently brush against Miko's hair.

"We say it with love," Ratchet explained.

Miko frowned up at them. "You guys don't even realize how crazy you're acting right now."

Ratchet scoffed. "I'd hardly call caring for our Sparklings 'crazy.'"

"You haven't always exactly made them feel entirely welcome, Ratch." Bulkhead retorted.

"That was before!" The medic snapped, before catching himself. He vented, a remorseful expression on his faceplates as he turned back to Miko. "And I am sorry."

"... Did the 'Cons do something to you guys' heads?"

"This again…" Ratchet muttered, finally returning to his post at the comm system.

"Don't worry," The Wrecker soothed his charge. "If anything, we're probably thinking clearer than ever. And you won't have to worry about them ever again.

Miko huffed again, turning her attention back to Rafael and Bee.

"Nothing bad's happened yet," Raf told him. "If you let us go now, nobody's gonna be in trouble. We can still be friends. It's okay."

Bee seemingly couldn't bring himself to look down at his friend, staring straight at the screen as he let out a few more sad-sounding beeps and boops.

"He's right, you know," Miko turned her attention back on Bulkhead. "If you just say sorry and stuff because you got a little crazy and let us go, we'll forgive you."

"And let you go back out there to be hurt again? No way. Or to your host family, who probably don't even care. Or your 'real' family? Who sent you away and don't even know where you are or what you're doing?"

"I'm an exchange student! It's part of a program. They do care."

"Seemed pretty eager to send you far, far away to me."

Miko shook with anger, feeling her frown deepen into a sneer. Her lips pulled back and she felt tears just barely prickly at her eyes. She tried to stifle a sniffle and turn away from the bot, but was immobile from the blankets cocoon she was wrapped in. All she could do was turn her face away and try not to sniffle and cry too obviously.

"Oh, sweetspark, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry," Bulkhead cooed.

"It's a hard truth she has to learn," Ratchet called from over his shoulder. "Better to learn it now than when it could really hurt her."

"See? We're doing this because we care. Your family. Raf's. Even with June, it's clear that they either aren't fit to care for you guys or just don't care at all. But, we do."

"You don't know anything," Miko blinked back tears, glaring at nothing. "And when Jack gets out of here, you're gonna be in big trouble."

Ratchet suddenly barked out a laugh. "Ha! This is our base, Miko, we know it better than anyone else. And with Optimus and Arcee hot on their trail, I don't see them leaving anytime soon."

An alert rang out over the comms, making Miko's head perked up. She tried to crane her head to see - Bulkhead thankfully turned around to give her a better view.

"In fact, that's probably them right now," Ratchet announced, a smug smile flashing over his features. "Arcee? I take it we have our boy?"

"No! Just June," Arcee's voice fizzled in. "She said Jack made it out."

"Scrap." Bulkhead vented.

"Wh- h- that's impossible!" The doctor spluttered.

"She says she gave him her pager. He's probably contacted Fowler by now."

"Double scrap."

Arcee continued. "Optimus and I are gonna keep looking, but if he's not here…"

"Told you so!" Miko blurted out, voice flooded with a smug sense of satisfaction. "You guys are in so much trouble."

Ratchet ignored her. "Right. Don't worry, we'll figure it out."

With a final affirmative from Arcee, the line went dead.

Ratchet vented heavily. "Well. This is quite the puzzle."

"You're screwed!" Miko laughed, only to be met with a disapproving wave of one of Bulkhead's digits.

"Language," he warned.

"Stop treating me like a baby!"

"Can't, considering you're acting like one."

"Bulk!"

"Hey, here's an idea," Ratchet mused aloud, looking over different files. "We may not be screwed, after all."

"Ratchet, not you, too," The wrecker whined.

The medic stepped aside, extending his arm as if to show off to Miko the different files that flashed on screen. "It sure would be a shame if someone compiled a string of audio clips that just happened to sound like you're explaining it was all a big misunderstanding, wouldn't it, Miko? Especially if we have audio recording devices everywhere that caught all of your conversations, giving us plenty to pick through and cobble together, huh?"

Miko felt her stomach drop. The dawning horror overcoming her must have been apparent on her face, as Ratchet's smile faded and his brows bunched together.

"Jack will be with us soon, don't you worry." He assured.

If anything, it only made her feel worse.

Contrary to popular belief, Miko was not an idiot. For one thing, she could usually tell what people were feeling at any given moment. This extended even to her Autobot companions, even without being able to sense EM fields, or have a sparkbond with them, or really, any of the other technological mumbo jumbo they used to navigate their day to day lives.

She didn’t even need to understand Bumblebee right now to understand his panic.

At the moment, though, she felt like an idiot—mostly because the blame for their current predicament could be partially rested at her feet. But come on. How was she supposed to know the car wash would stop before Bumblebee’s hood could be covered in soap?

But, okay, after getting covered in dust in his last battle, Bumblebee really needed a wash.

And, okay, neither Raf nor Bumblebee wanted to do it themselves—which Miko needed no explanation for other than the fact that it was literally hotter than hell in the streets of Jasper, Nevada. It was the only reason taking him through this place seemed appealing (and was worth the twenty seven dollar entrance fee).

Except.

Now there were a bunch of tall, lanky boys swarming, not necessarily them, but whatever was causing the issue behind them. Bumblebee was audibly freaking out, Raf was in the passenger seat trying to calm him down, and Miko, oddly, was quiet, studying the whole scene from the rearview mirror.

The one girl in the group of employees broke away, at that point. There was only one car in the whole length of the wash, and the moment Miko put that together, she shushed both Raf and Bumblebee, and rolled down his window.

“I am so sorry,” the girl declared.

“It’s fine!”

“The guys are saying it’ll take about ten to twenty minutes. If you’ve got somewhere to be, I have a powerwasher, so I can hose you down and get you a refund.”

Miko turned to Raf. “The ‘Bots say we need to be anywhere?” she asked quietly.

Raf paled. “No, but-”

“Then we’re good,” she declared firmly, before either of the boys could raise an objection. “We’re just coming from school. Honestly, this feels like a break.”

“Oh. That’s good, I guess.” She paused. “Let me know if you change your mind. Can I get you some water, or a popsicle? I know it’s hot around here.”

Raf blinked. “Wait, popsicles? Why?”

“The electrolyte kind. It’s too dang hot to work here without them.”

“Makes sense. I’d like one, if that’s okay.”

“Make it two,” Miko chirped, and the girl tapped two fingers to her visor and scampered off, leaving the two humans and the Autobot alone in the hot car wash.

Fortunately, Bumblebee didn’t say a word until she was gone, and when he did, it was in hushed, subdued chirps.

“‘Bee’s right,” Raf declared, and he sounded worried. “What if the Autobots need us?”

Miko scoffed. “Then we get hosed down and get the heck outta here. I’m sure they’ll understand if we’re a few minutes late.” She tapped Bumblebee’s steering wheel, and added, “You really need this, big guy.”

In response, Bumblebee huffed. Miko didn’t really need a translation for that, but Raf provided one anyway. “He says his paint looks fine.”

“Yeah, all of Team Prime would beg to differ.” She looked up when she noticed movement in the rearview. “Incoming.”

The girl—Morgan, by her name tag—came back with three popsicles; red, blue, and orange. Raf immediately reached for the red, Miko the blue, which left Morgan with the orange, to which she hummed contentedly. Probably because she wasn’t elbow deep in grease, at least.

Miko seized her chance. “What even happened?”

Morgan—who looked about Jack’s age, maybe slightly older—rolled her eyes. “Pulse failure could mean anything, depending on the wash itself, but right now, if I had to guess, I’d say one of the rollers got stuck.”

“Huh.” She paused, and thought about that for a second. “Why?”

She shrugged. “I have no idea, I’ve been here, like, three weeks. Been happening literally every day since I got here, though, and only at this site.”

Miko winced, because she could imagine working retail, and thought that this was probably just as bad. Except worse in some ways, because on top of the angry customers, they had to rely on a non autonomous machine to do their job for them. At least Autobots were largely self reliant.

…but she was curious.

“…can we watch?”

Morgan pursed her lips together. “I mean, I don’t think I can let you out of the car. Safety hazards and what not.”

“Just from here?”

“…sure?”

“Why?” asked Raf, exasperated.

“Because tell me you’ve never been curious about how this works,” Miko shot back, and she leaned her entire body out of the window.

Raf groaned. Miko lost sight of him as she sat down right on Bumblebee’s window, and watched the boys yell at each other about crowbars and come-alongs, and wondered what an air compressor did in this situation. She heard the window roll down, and Raf groan exasperatedly as he also sat down just on Bumblebee’s window, and watch.

“The engineer in ya won out, huh?”

“Shut up,” Raf grumbled, and Miko laughed.

“You’re engineers?” Morgan asked, astounded.

Raf smiled shyly. “I dabble.”

“Shut up, dude, you’re literally a genius. I’m not,” Miko explained. “Just a…general interest in mechanics, I guess.” She cleared her throat. “That’s actually how we got this car.”

“Oh, yeah?”

She waved her hand. “Old dude in a machine shop sold it to us for dirt cheap if we could fix it up. Raf did the plans, I did the heavy lifting, voilà!”

“Good as new,” Morgan praised, even over Bumblebee’s quiet protests. “Ever consider working in a car wash?” She gestured to the boys and the stuck roller, “We could definitely use you when nonsense like this happens.”

“Maybe.” Miko hummed to herself. “Could I bring my friends in here for free?”

Bumblebee stiffened, but Morgan spoke over him with a wild grin, “Officially, no. If you can do it without getting caught, though…”

“Challenge accepted.”

Morgan cackled, and Raf groaned.

It was about that time one of the boys—white shirt now completely stained—stood up from the pit, yelled Morgan’s name, and gave her a thumbs up.

“Well, that didn’t take very long,” she sighed. “Alright. Gotta start the wash now. Still in neutral?”

Bee buzzed in the affirmative, to which Raf gave a thumbs up. Once she was seated with her seatbelt on, Miko yelled, “We’re good!”

“Your windows!” Morgan yelled back.

Fortunately, Bee was already taking care of that, but it wasn’t like they could let her know that.

From then on, the wash went smoothly. The whirring of machinery seemed to soothe Bumblebee’s earlier panic—Miko made a mental note to ask about claustrophobia, but that probably wasn’t it, was it? He was fine after the fact.

The second the wash was over, and the light at the end flashed green, Bumblebee took off. There were vacuums, but they weren’t worth it since it was still the temperature of Unicron’s armpit. They could deal with that later.

Bumblebee’s buzzing snapped Miko out of her thoughts. She cocked her head, and then looked at Raf to translate.

“‘Bee wants to know if you’d seriously get a job here just to help them out.”

Miko shrugged. “Yeah? Nothing stopping me. Besides, I’d be making money.”

Bumblebee buzzed further inquiry, which Raf translated as, “But you’d be stuck in the heat. All day.”

“Worth it.”

What that actually meant was “it would be worth it to help my friends, any way I can”, but she couldn’t be caught dead saying that.

Bumblebee trilled lowly, and Raf giggled—which Miko took as proof that they were probably having a laugh at her expense. It was a good plan, though! It required cunning and good communication, all things she was good at! It wasn’t stupid!

So if she dragged Raf into her arms for it and immediately began to noogie him, it was because he had done it to himself.

Bumblebee, Charlie and Ralph

Silly little thing that popped up in my head over Raphael from TFP and his ability to understand Bumblebee, and also Charlie from the Bumblebee movie.

It's a little headcannon over how Raph can understand Bumblebee and cybertronian so well, and reason he is so good with technology.

Bumblebee is based 1987

TFP is based 2007

20 years between.

I have a cute little headcanon that Raph is Charlie's son. I like to think after bee left she didn't make alot of good decisions and in 1995 she had Raph, but her partner at the time split with her leaving her trying to raise a baby by herself halfway across the country, and she uses her one emergency call to get in contact with Bumblebee hoping he can just drive her back to California. Bee instead makes it his so mission to look after both Charlie and baby Raph, and they end up in Jasper.

Optimus at first is not very happy about it, for one mirage refuses to leave Brooklyn due to Noah being there, and now Bumblebee shows up at base with the human Optimus made Bumblebee cut contact with. And not only that there was a human baby involved too. But eventually optimus relents, and Bumblebee set Charlie up, she had looked after him and he would do everything to look after her.

Over time Bee becomes the closest thing to a dad Ralph has, and the young Autobot scout adores him so much. And Ralph begins to understand Bumblebee's beeps and chirps outside of the stereo talk. It's a shock to all of them when toddler Ralph begins babbling in small bits of Cybertronian.

Charlie and Bee end up together not as Conjunx officially because both are two shy to ask the other into a relationship but it's very much a stablished that they are Ralph's parent's. And every Autobot on base knows that they are together.

Ralph as a baby adores Ratchet, despite the grumpy medic stating he didn't wish to squish the young boy, poor ratchet unofficially becomes his grandfather, and Ratchet adores sitting there with Raphael as the young boy watches him type away, he ever starts teaching him how to read Cybertronian at the young ages.

And as Ralph gets older, he learns very quickly 'don't talk about home life' and for a long while it's very isolating not having people he can talk to about the bots. Charlie had Noah, Kris and Elena, agent Fowler. But Ralph didn't bave friends he could talk too. That's until Arcee messes up one day and Jack comes into the picture, and Ralph takes to him and then Miko so quickly, he finally has friends who know about the bots, and he can talk to them openly about it. The next generation of humans who knew about the bots.

So, in conclusion, I have a head cannon of Ralph being Charlie and Bumblebee's kid.
