Female Protagonists

With the release of the Gaslight Distract we just wanted to talk about something interesting about all of Glitch's shows that we just find so cool!

All of Glitch's shows so far (besides SMG4, but they don't post that on the same channel) have female protagonists! It's just cool to see a studio do something like that and be so proud of it!

Each character is uniquely written, none of them feel the same. Obviously because they are different writers, but it does show skill in those writers. It's very easy to accidentally fall into stereotypes and go with it, but not here!

We just wanted to get a quick gush out. We absolutely love seeing a studio not scared to push for women protagonists. So many women led stories get rejected as many men don't want to engage in a story they can't see themselves in, but Glitch gives creators that chance. And the shows are quite successful as well!

The Gaslight District Pilot was fucking amazing by the way, go watch it! Now, go, now!

Monkie Kid AU, where Wukong accidentally drinks a love potion, but with a twist!

Wukong enters the Celestial Realm to visit Nezha (for whatever reason) and drinks the pink lemonade Nezha made WITHOUT permission... so Erlang Shen tricks Wukong into thinking that Wukong drank a special love potion... and Erlang lies that Nezha was gonna use on himself to confess to his crush.

The 'love potion' is more like a truth potion, that compels the drinker to be honest about their romantic feelings for someone, if they have any... Wukong is horrified, while Erlang and Nezha smugly watch the placebo effect do its work... The placebo effect compels Wukong to be Lovey-Dovey with Macaque, but Wukong is trying to resist it.
