Okay, so let's talk about Urie.

Tokyo ghoul's Levi.

Now first let me just say that I don't write about him or almost anyone who is/was in the CCG.

Why? Well, it's mostly because I feel like I have no ideas for characters and feel like we don't know that much about them.

Plus it's not that fun to talk about them.

But anyways, boi got skill. Not gonna lie.

But he ain't as good as he thinks he is.

Like he's not a punk-ass like Ayato was when he was 15 but like Urie does have some pride going on there.

Is relatable in some sense, like if you have read the manga you can note that his inner thoughts about how he thinks about certain people can be relatable.

And his sarcasm is also something we can kinda relate to.

I wouldn't say he's as dark as people think he is, he's just mad at the world for his situation.

and he feels better by being successful because that way people like his dad won't have the same fate.

it could also be to kinda like be higher than his dad's co-workers sense he kinda has this vendetta against them and himself.

psychologically speaking, think he is fairly depressed.

though he may have an attitude that does seem unwelcoming, I think he's fairly hurt and just wishes he had more answers.

I'll be honest, he's a character I've always disliked.

This is mostly bc of how he treats people.

I'm just going to say it he's a pompous ass.

He's so obsessed with getting a promotion it's toxic and idk I've always found him annoying.

And little ridiculous cause he thinks he can do everything.

I don't like it too much when people relate him to Levi but I can see why, but still, Levi is better.

I also think Urie needs to loosen up a bit like idk get a girlfriend or do something his age.

He's so focused on something he may or may not achieve like it's good to have goals but don't only focus on one thing.

But it might be because he keeps himself busy with work since he doesn't want to think about what kinda life he lives.

Tragedy haunts him for sure.

He seems insecure as well, and think he feels like he's lost purpose sometimes.

I don't think he does well with love and wouldn't understand it.

But rather than dating he'd go with the norm (Japan/Asia) and get married to just some girl that fits housewife standard or something.

I think he also doesn't what love is bc he has no parental background.

I mean all he knows is how to be tough and be smart.

So everything else is difficult for him to level and understand with bc feelings were something he probably bottled up.

For years on end.

I think he didn't have a very normal life so some experiences make him feel indifferent.

And if you haven't noticed a lot of people raised by the CCG are kind of brainwashed into only focusing on getting rid of ghouls and all that.

Like the CCG establishes a purpose for them, rather then letting people be themselves.

So it sounds kinda culty, its also like propaganda but also not at the same time.

So yeah it may have to do with his upbringing tbh.

Wish he had more character development tho.

Thinking about Tokyo Ghoul again and you know what? I want a pre-canon spin-off focused on Mikito. His frienship with Iwaccho, how the hell he defeated Priest, who the hell is Kuki’s mom and where is she during canon, etc.

I love the idea of the Qx overcoming their flaws bcs they have each other! it fits the idea of them being a family and they're also the Group which has stuck together the most in the series and they are written as a Group specifically while other characters' relationships are more abt individual friendships and love. I also love your idea of the next ch being abt R, T, F and K and their parallels! Abt U I think he's one of the ch whose arc is linked to the idea to elaborate the grief healthily c

U is like K: in 132 K remembers all the people he lost and it's interesting all of them are, if not the main cause at least symbolic of K's many persona changes. K's story is marked by a series of losses he wasn't able to overcome and the same is for U with the addition that in his case it's not just that he keeps losing people, but that they die following the same script. U's main losses are his father and Sh and their deaths are mirrors of each Others and deeply linked in a tangled way. As con

U says the only way he could cope with Mi's Death was to lash out at Others and he tries to cope in the same way when Sh dies, but K's faster and lashes out at him first. Hwv, U can't really refuse K's reasoning bcs it was his reasoning to begin with. U used the same words K uses against him to scapegoat K as the responsible for Mi's Death, but in Sh's Death he plays K's part. Instead of realizing that it's the script which is wrong U tries to play the role better, so if Mi's loss makes him cont

willing to fight for himself, Sh's makes him willing to figth for Others. They seem opposite behaviours, but are linked to the same flawed idea. That's why after Rue (an arc where U shows both these contrasting tendencies) his 2 major battles were meant to have him face M's Death. He's given opposite visions of M's legacy, but he's only accepted the positive one not the negative. That's why the pattern has repeated to the point of having K who couldn't save M die in U's arms. The past keeps cont

repeating. that's also why U's "It's no one's fault my father died" didn't lead to the logical "It's not my fault Sh died". If to grow U has to elaborate both M and Sh's deaths we may think he has to do so in order and so that R's fight was when he solved M's one and his tendency of lashing out. Hwv I think he's only halfway at most and that he won't solve M until he solves Sh (so his lashing out is only repressed). To do so he has to accept both good and bad parts of the deads. Meta anon

I think Kaneki’s going to be working on accepting good and bad quite soon, with the impending Sun Arc (please), the Rize confrontation, and this theory sent by @sesshomarusenpai.
