- chapter 24, part 1, vol 1, War and Peace (trans. Pevear & Volokhonsky)
That manservant is a pro. Not the first flying plate he’s had to catch, it sounds like.
And then there’s this poor guy:

Dude was just randomly “invited” to dinner and now he has to sit through the prince’s drama. Probably thinking, “Can I go soon? Please??”

It would be comedic if I didn’t feel so bad for him.

Excerpts from Love Poems by Mikhail Ivanovich Nabokov
read it on the AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/58095886
by UpInFlamesWriting
This is based on a headcanon that Heavy wrote Medic a book of love poems for their fifth anniversary, not long before the start of the robot war & the mercs being fired. Out of about 40 poems (which is on the shorter scale of a poetry book) ten were written in English, ten in German, & the rest in Heavy's native Russian. I, however, only speak English fluently, so these are the ten love poems written in English, in no specific order.

BONUS ROUND 1: Imagine It's Early 17th Century (Sorry)
This is a fun little practice round before the main event that also gives us the opportunity to remember the drama-filled beginnings of this notoriously drama-filled dynasty. Because we can only imagine how much death and destruction could've been prevented if Russians during Smuta had access to the piece of advanced technology that is a tumblr poll.
OUR CONTESTANTS

Boris Godunov - The one who has ACTUALLY been doing the work of ruling a country for like two decades.

Dimitry Ivanovich - The last legitimate son of Ivan the Terrible. We swear.

Vasily Shuyskiy - You see, he was elected by the boyars. Or something.

Władisław Vasa - Idk he and his dad are the ones with an army. We probably shouldn't argue with a guy with an army.

Fyodor Romanov - He's, uhm. He's related to tsarina Anastasia. Everyone loved tsarina Anastasia, right?

I need help deciding which scenes to work on in which order, so...
I'm really curious. The mysterious one (with childhood friend + friends-to-enemies-to-lovers options)? The dependable one (with mommy/daddy vibes)? The eccentric one (mad scientists make for great pets)? Or the one who sees you as a mere puppet of theirs at this point?
