Hey there Ghostbuster lovers!!!!!

It's me again back for the season of LOVE with the next chapter of my Egon x OC Molly fic!

I hope you all enjoy!

Things have fallen on hard times for the members of the Ghostbusters when the memory of saving the world from the threat of supernatural destruction fades in the minds of the city. Now, with each of them going their separate ways, Egon joins up with another scientist to share a lab so he can continue his experiments. When an innocent mistake by his lab mate leads to a mix up that could mean big consequences for Egon, he must choose whether or not to reveal the truth to Molly, the test subject or keep it secret forever.

The words were something that Egon never thought he would have to say. Though, whoever thinks to themselves that they have to tell someone they might be carrying his child without at least a night of passion to show for it. Egon placed his hands on Molly’s shoulders, ready to stabilize her if the news came as a shock. Molly waited with bated breath, staring into Egon’s eyes. Hoping he was about to kiss her.

“There was a mix up at the lab.” he began. Molly opened up her eyes, looking more confused than ever.

“Mix up? What do you mean?” she asked him. Egon felt his heart sink knowing what he was about to tell her. Deciding to help the two of them sit down on the stoop of her building. Prepared to confess it all.

“During the procedure, you were not inseminated with the correct donor sperm.” he said plainly. Molly's face went beet red, embarrassed to even be discussing it with him. The realization, only hitting her afterwards that she might be having some stranger's baby.

“Oh no… you mean… oh god.” she said, a bit stunned. Her hands, holding her either side of head as she took it all in. Egon took in a deep breath—he wasn’t finished just yet. He watched as she tried her best to contain herself. Holding back evidence of the panic she felt inside.

“That’s not all…Molly. I—I have to tell you, the donor sperm you received…it was mine.” he confessed. Suddenly Molly felt as though she might faint. Her head was spinning, and a loud ringing started becoming louder and louder in her ears. Frazzled and unsure if what she heard was truly what Egon was trying to say. Did he actually tell her that he, the man she had been slowly falling for, was possibly the father of her child? It was so much to take in.

“So if I’m pregnant, then…”

“Then I am the father.” Egon confirmed, “Molly if…if it happens then we will figure it out. I just needed to tell you. I couldn’t allow for things to continue on between us and… I am sure we have nothing to be concerned about. The likelihood of a successful first-time intrauterine insemination procedure is relatively low, about 13%.” he continued, trying his best to diffuse the situation.

“Oh…” she murmured, all the while growing quieter. A swirl of chaotic and undefined emotions, filling her up inside. The whole thing had become so damn bittersweet. On one hand she had a moment of hope. Unplanned as it was, she felt excited at the prospect to think she'd actually get to have a child with a man she…loved? But did he want that?

Egon continued, spouting off the low odds of conception, leaving her thin optimism in a dulled and blunt sense of doubt. “I guess you're right, there's no reason to get worked up.” She began, playing it off as if she were fine. Both her and Egon, however, knew the truth. “We will just have to wait and see.” she finished, the upset in her voice unable to be hidden as it cracked and trembled.

Egon sat quietly there beside her, unsure of how to make things better between them. While he could practically master every branch of science imaginable, the concept of relationships was not something he had ever excelled in. His history with the likes of Janine being a prime example. He wasn’t sure what to make of Molly’s reaction. He was even less sure how to comfort her.

“How are you feeling?” he asked, staring down at the steps. His eyes focused on the spot between his shoes. The worn-down concrete, catching his attention as he felt Molly turn to face him. The tears were now undeniable in her eyes as he looked into them. Instantly feeling the pain she was going through when she spoke.

“I want you to know something.” She began, wringing her hands on the hem of her sweater.

“Go on.” He said, leaning closer to her. Waiting for a full breakdown to come into fruition, but instead Molly wiped the tears away from her eyes. Beginning to laugh softly.

“I really want this baby Egon. I have wanted one for so long. This… this doesn’t change that.”

“I know… I know.” he said with a smile. Allowing her to rest her head on his chest. “Molly… there's something else.” Egon began, pulling her up to look at him. Molly’s eyes widening as she sat back up. Facing him head on.

“Oh god Egon, I don’t think I can take anything else.” she said half joking, half serious.

“I wanted to tell you that, I have developed feelings for you as well.” he smiled, his gorgeous brown eyes sending Molly’s heart racing inside her chest. Wanting so badly to kiss him.

A week had passed since Egon’s confession. Molly and him, ecstatic to find that they shared feelings for one another. Deciding to give a relationship between them a shot. Molly’s first order of business was to invite Egon to a Halloween party hosted by Sam and a few of her roadie friends.

She was excited to share the love of the season with him as they counted down the days until they would know if she had conceived. They began learning more about more about one another. Molly, fascinated by Egon’s time as a Ghostbuster and Egon just as equally intrigued by her “normal childhood”. The two of them, quickly growing closer with each passing day.

Molly was doing her best to pretend nothing had changed when she made a routine trip to the lab. She was due for some follow up blood tests and a few rounds of questions. Careful not to look Egon’s way and smiling over to Connie as she entered. Her scientist friend, still completely unaware of their budding romance.

Constance, too, was playing things close to the chest. Still under the assumption Molly was ignorant about the mix up, she continued on with business as usual. Egon finding other things to be conveniently busy with during the visit. Excusing himself to the storage room, leaving the two of them alone.

“How are you feeling Mol?” Connie asked her, giving her back her arm as she finished collecting the blood samples. Molly, feeling a bit lightheaded from seeing just how many tubes Connie had managed to fill.

“I’m doing well actually… Maybe I'm a little dizzy now.” she laughed, “But seriously no symptoms or anything… not sure if that's good or bad.” she explained as she held the cotton ball to the puncture in her arm. Connie quickly turned back with a band aid and a cautious smile on her face as she began placing it down.

“Well it may be too soon for anything. We will know in another few days.” she replied. Molly nodded in response. More excited than ever to get on her way, ready to get going to the party.

“I understand. Was there anything else I needed to do before I leave?” she asked, hopping off the exam table and grabbing her coat. Connie quickly flipped through her collection of papers on her clipboard and replied.

“Nope, it seems we are good here. Next time I see you we will be ready to test!” she beamed. Molly smiled back at her, noticing Egon slipping out of the lab to meet with her outside. Molly made her way to the street walking a bit down the sidewalk until she reached the corner—Egon waiting for her along the side of the building.

“Not sure how I feel about all this sneaking around.” he said, looking to see if Constance had followed her out.

“I mean we can tell her if you want. I think it might help her relax a bit. I can tell she’s on edge. Maybe she’d feel better too if she knew.” Molly said.

“Sure. Next time.” Egon smiled, taking Molly's hand and walking with her down the street.

“Do we need to stop over at your place to get your costume?” she asked him. Cuddling up close as they walked. The cold chill in the wind was beginning to settle in. Molly, taking it as the perfect excuse to get closer to him.

“What do you mean? I’m wearing it right now.” Egon explained, the two of them stopping in stride so he could present himself. Still dressed in his normal lab coat and suit.

“Egon.”

“What is it?” he asked her.

“That's not a costume.” Molly laughed.

“It is actually, you see I am going to the part as a research scientist.”

“Uh huh…” Molly hummed. The look of skepticism was plain on her face. “Maybe try something else ok.” she laughed. Egon nodded, figuring that it was a long shot, but he had to try.

“I will figure something out. Why don’t you head back and I will meet up with you tonight before the party.” he told her, wondering what he could find to wear.

“Sounds good.” Molly told him lifting up on her toes to kiss his cheek before taking off down the block. “I will see you tonight!”

“See you then!” he called back to her. Turning to head into the lab and grab his things before making his way to his apartment.

It was a few hours later as Egon paced his apartment. Wondering if he could make up some excuse to come sans costume. As enticing as it was, he couldn’t bring himself to disappoint her. Suddenly deciding he had just the right thing—though he was nervous to put it on.

He threw his costume in a duffel bag, bringing it with him as he readied to leave for Molly’s. Hoping to let her give it the final approval, when he heard the phone ring. Egon let out a sigh, hastily making his way back into the living room and picking up the receiver. A familiar voice heard on the other end.

“Egon, it’s Constance. Are you sitting down?” she asked him. Immediately he was put on edge. He hated when people started out conversations in that way.

“No… Do I need to be?” he asked her.

“Uh… I would.” she advised. Her voice filled with sheer anxious energy. The feeling was palpable even over the phone. Egon took a seat, as suggested, on the sofa next to the table. Loosening the fit of his tie and taking a deep breath before he spoke again.

“Ok, I’m sitting.”

“She’s pregnant.” Constance told him, blurting out the words. Egon, feeling as if the wind was knocked out of him.

“Are you sure?” he asked her. Rubbing his eyes beneath his glasses as he was convinced his vision had begun to blur.

“I’m positive. I just finished running her tests. There’s no doubt. We have to tell her.” Constance explained, freaking out on the other end. Despite his initial reaction, suddenly, Egon became as cool as a cucumber. This wasn’t a bad thing, right? Molly would be thrilled, wouldn’t she? Was he—thrilled?

“It’s alright… I will handle it.” he told Constance as he hung up the phone. Grabbing the duffle bag and heading out to meet Molly.

“Come on, I wanna see it already.” Molly laughed. Waiting on her sofa for Egon to emerge from the bedroom. He had been in there a while putting on his outfit for the party. Molly, growing ever more impatient to see what he had come up with.

On the other side of the door, Egon was sitting down on the edge of Molly’s bed. He had been dressed for some time, but hadn’t yet been able to bring himself to leave the room. Every moment of them spent together drawing closer to the time he would have to tell her. Full of more anxiety than he had never experienced before.

When he arrived at her apartment that evening, he couldn’t help but zero in on her lower abdomen. Knowing that beneath her sweater, cradled inconspicuously within her pelvis was his child—their child. Right now, what was a small bunch of cells, would continue to rapidly divide and multiply over and over. His DNA and her’s, forever combined in what would become a little person.

It took everything in him not to shout it at her right there and then. Choosing instead to wait until the time felt right to reveal it. Hoping that they'd get some more time alone. Egon finally shook off his apprehension enough to leave the room. Molly's eyes lit up with an almost childlike wonder when she saw him.

“Oh Egon! It's perfect!” She cheered, jumping up and down as she approached him. Marveling at the fit of a very familiar flight suit. His name in stark red lettering against the black patch.

“Do you like it? It's really all I could think of.” He asked her, trying to stop himself from smiling too much at her delight.

“I love it! I get to bring an actual Ghostbuster with me to a Halloween party…and a handsome one at that. What's not to love!” She smiled, looking so beautiful in her Flashdance costume. Egon was particularly fond of the way her glutei maximi were accentuated in the tight black shorts. Her legs, that seemed to go on for days, were accented in black warmers and perfectly pink heels. Enticed by the fall of her baggy sweatshirt, peeking her bare shoulder to him.

He was proud of himself for being so restrained as he looked at her. Wishing he had the strength to press his lips against hers. To forgo the party and take her once and for all in the bed. Claim her the way he should have before they had managed to make a child. For now, he knew it would have to wait. They had a party to attend—and he still needed to tell her.

Monster Mash was playing over the loudspeakers as they arrived. The semi-small studio apartment, packed like sardines with people. The crowd, a bit overwhelming for Egon as they traversed the room. Though he would take it in stride, knowing how much the event meant to Molly.

It wasn’t long before they bumped into Sam and Elaine. The two of them dressed as Madonna and a wicked witch respectively. Molly, all too happy to introduce Egon to them as her boyfriend with the sweetest of smiles on her face. Thrilled to be on her handsome gentlemen’s arm for the evening.

“Ghostbusters…I think I remember that from a while back. How crazy was all that?” Sam laughed trying to make conversation.

“It was quite exceptional and dangerous. A thing of the past now.” he responded, leaving his answer short, but still rather encompassing.

“Egon now studies more lively things, like human emotions.” laughed Molly. It became quickly apparent to them that Egon wasn’t like most men. Wanting very little to talk about himself and more happy to enjoy watching Molly having a good time. Elaine and Sam, thrilled to see just how happy he was making Molly.

“Sounds good to me. If he wants some good subjects I know where he can find some toddlers for it.” Elaine laughed, choking up a bit at the end when she suddenly remembered the situation with Molly, “Oh Mol… any word on the…'' she finished looking down at Molly's belly. Wondering how her new ghost busting beau would fit into the mix.

“Nothing yet.” she said, a hint of nervous laughter escaping her. Egon, swallowing back hard the knot in his throat, knowing that there was indeed something yet.

“Not to alarm you, but Seth is here tonight so he may ask about it.” Sam warned her.

“Oh…that's ok…ah Egon actually knows about Seth and the um…” Molly began just as the man in question appeared from behind Elaine’s shoulder.

“Talking about me behind my back?” Seth laughed as he approached. Immediately Egon was on edge. This was the man who was supposed to be the baby’s father. Long brown hair, broad shouldered, and conventionally attractive. He couldn’t help but think to himself, no wonder she had chosen him. Though his brawn did not seem matched by his brains.

“Of course not.” Sam said, rolling her eyes. Suddenly Seth’s attention was drawn to Molly. Looking her over up and down as she stood there. His gesturing, clearly showing how much he appreciated the fit of her costume.

“So Mol any word on if I knocked you up y—” he asked as Sam’s hand came hard across his chest, “What?”

“Jeez, Seth have some class.” she told him. Molly, looking horrified at how he had asked her. All the while, Egon was beginning to feel a bit unsettled hearing him talk to her in such a way.

“No Seth, as a matter of fact I have changed my mind about all that.” she explained. Her words sent a feeling of warmth throughout Egon’s chest. Feeling as if he had somehow managed to accomplish something without even trying.

“Oh really… that's a shame. We’d make some cute kiddos.” Seth laughed, the alcohol on his breath becoming more and more apparent.

“Seth, this is Molly’s boyfriend. Dr. Egon Spengler.” Elaine said, hoping he would get the point.

“Well I’ll be damned. An actual Ghostbuster. Boo!” he laughed, making a fool of himself in front of them. It was clear to Egon and everyone else that Seth was already inebriated.

“Why don’t we go sit down Seth.” Sam suggested, leading him off to the sofa as she mouthed an ‘I’m sorry’ to Molly. It was upsetting for her to see him like that and Egon could tell it was getting to her.

“Are you alright?” he asked her. Molly, pressing her lips into a smile.

“Yeah…just not used to seeing him so wasted.” she explained. Egon tried to brush it off, stuffing down the jealousy he felt creeping up inside.

“I am sure he’ll be fine.” Egon assured her. The rest of the night was going well. They mingled with a few of Molly’s friends from work and Egon was coaxed into talking about the glory days of ghost hunting when he heard a familiar voice in the crowd calling out his name.

“Egon?”

“Yes?” he said, turning around to come face to face with Janine Melnitz. It had been years since he’d seen her and in that time it seemed so much had changed. She was now sporting a hipper contemporary aesthetic. Her now bright red hair, styled into a bob and her black-rimmed circle spectacles a statement on her eyes. She was dressed in a lime green flapper girl costume, still wearing her leopard print coat as if he had only just arrived.

“Janine.” he said.

“Egon, it's been a long time.” she smiled, looking him over. “Though it looks like it was just yesterday.” she laughed seeing him in his flight suit.

“Do you all know each other?” Molly asked.

“Once upon a time. Right Egon. How do you all know each other?” Janine asked them.

“Oh from volunteering at a research clinic.” Molly laughed nervously. “Egon is my boyfriend.”

“Is that so? Well now Dr. Spengler seems you are doing well for yourself. You know Molly, a few years ago we almost got married.” Janine explained, the words instantly putting Molly on edge. Janine had been someone she met a while back. Hanging out with a group of Sam’s roadie friends and a bunch of artsy people they hung out with. Never in a million years did she think someone like Janine and Egon would have ever been an item.

“That was a long time ago.” Egon assured Molly, sensing her unease at the turn of the conversation. “How have you been Janine?” he asked, trying to maintain civil conversation, though he felt like he was stuck in quicksand. Unable to move from the awkward interaction without finding an appropriate out.

“Oh I’ve been around. Doing some secretarial work for the local community college, but nothing too serious. How have you been? Are the boys getting back together?” Janine smiled. Her eyes lighting up in Egon’s presence.

“Hardly. Peter is more interested in cable television than researching actual paranormal phenomena.” Egon explained.

“A shame.” Janine responded. Molly kept quiet while watching the two of them interact. At one point she was no longer hearing what was being said, but finding herself paying close attention to the way Janine would brush her hair behind one ear. Laughing as she placed her palm against Egon’s chest. It seemed like obvious flirting to Molly, but did Egon even notice?

It was clear now that whatever torch had been lit all those years ago, for Janine it was still burning. Molly, wondering if it was the same for Egon. As they stood there suddenly Molly felt someone poking her. A finger, tapping over and over into her shoulder before she turned around to see Seth once again. Two beers in hand and looking even more sloshed than he had before.

“Here Mol have a beer with me.” he told her trying to hand her the open bottle. Molly, politely refusing him as he carried on.

“Really?”

“No thanks, I’m good.” she said, once again trying to get him to back off. Her protests, catching Egon and Janine’s attention.

“Ah come on, it's just a beer. It’s Halloween, lighten up a bit will yah.” he insisted, shoving the bottle again in her face. Egon was overcome with anger. Watching the way Seth was treating Molly had his blood boiling. A feeling he had hardly ever felt before. He was unable to control himself as the beer bottle spilled over onto Molly’s sweatshirt. Molly, going to grab it from Seth if only to stop him from insisting she take a drink, when Egon finally lost it.

“Back off you oaf, she’s pregnant.” Egon snapped.

Hello! I'm Sawyer (they/them 29) and this is my nice fancy Dragon Age multimuse so I don't have a million blogs. If you're here and you think 'Hmmm, these OCs look familiar' it's because I've run about half of them as indie blogs at some point and now they're all neat and collected here!

I love crossovers! However, if I'm unfamiliar with your setting/fandom and you don't have a DA au then I may have a bit of a pickle figuring out how to interact. However, if you have an idea hit me with it and we can figure out a verse to work in!

There is a lot of potential for a lot of triggering content on this blog. I will tag everything accordingly and I will tag all of my characters as well so, for example, if you’d like to blacklist a specific character because they have triggers for you, ie ;Despair you're welcome to do so.

Guys, Gals, and Other Pals PLEASE TAG YOUR FLASHING GIFS. TW epilepsy or flashing lights or whatever but tag it SOMETHING else I will not be able to follow you.

I'm pretty open in terms of types of interactions. I love ask memes, longer paragraph formats, or smaller more conversational pieces. Some of my muses might require a little more info to work with them(ie Despair) but if you're happy to plot something out or don't mind me messaging you to ask what makes your muse tick I'm happy to chuck that little ball of nightmares your way.

I make all my own icons and graphic edits, in game and FCs! They're not perfect by any means but I like them. I do not make anything with coding on my blogs, that is my weakness lol.

laszlo is a big flirt, and isn't always subtle about it, and by that i mean he can be extremely forward and may make explicitly sexual remarks. i'm not trying to force anything; your muse is free to reject him or react in whatever way suits them best. conversely, do NOT use this to try and force me to write smut with you. he can also be a real asshole and that does not reflect my views of you nor your muse.

if you see something on my about page or a headcanon that contradicts information on the wiki or within the series, know that the wiki is very inaccurate and the show often has contradictory details.

Selfship Intro Post!

Hello everyone, my name is Sophia, I’m 18 and I’ve finally decided to make a selfship blog after self-shipping (and lurking on the selfship community) since 2019. My blog is still under construction, (there’s still a few things I need to figure out; banner, long-term pfp, how tf do I make a carrd?) but I’m just wanting to put my intro out there so I can start interacting with the community and meeting mutuals (and hopefully friends(!)) within the community! I’ll probably move this over to a Google doc/ carrd once I figure out how to make one to keep it less messy but I’ll leave some basic info here for the time being:

•My only romantic (F/O) is Kazuma Asogi from the great ace attorney. I’ve loved him pretty much since I met him in game on the English release of TGAA on 27/07/21 so I consider that to be our anniversary (lol). Please do not interact in any capacity if you, or a mutual selfships (or ships an oc) with him romantically, post often about a ship with him and a canon character, or you like him in romantic capacity. And please, do block me if you share him.

•Whilst Kazuma is my only romantic (F/O) there are a few former (F/O)’s who I still care for lore/story-wise and will list them under my crush category. I’m fine sharing them but I’ll leave them listed out since I may gush about them from time to time and I don’t want someone with these (F/O)’s to interact with my blog without knowing.

8. Do you have a(ny) fictional introject(s)? What is that like for you?

not any true fictional introjects, no, not to my knowledge. most of them are just fragments or loose splits that latched onto the identities of various fictional characters, and don't have a super strong attachment to source. some do have pseudomemories, i think.

i think one of the only true introjects we have is the abuser introject of our mother, who doesn't seem to front often or really interact with the main system right now.

putting it under a cut because this got long, lmao.

i'm gonna be honest, if you think you have 100+ alters at, like, 15 after only knowing about your system for a few months, and especially if your only reading into DID info has been carrds and twitter threads, you don't have 100+ alters. i hate to break it to you but you're probably making the same mistake i did at 15 and getting what is and isn't an alter very confused, and accidentally inflating your alter count.

this isn't fakeclaiming, this isn't an attack, nor am i saying this with anyone in particular on my mind, this is just genuine advice that i think the younger parts of the DID community really need to take to heart; please be careful when trying to figure out if you have new alters. don't speedrun it, take it slow. i know a lot of the community may make you feel like you have to know everyone in your system within a few months and have perfect communication, and while that may be the reality for some people, that tends to be, more often than not, the reality of people in DID therapy and/or out of their traumatic/abusive home environments, and not kids without dissociative specialists who are still living in shitty homes.

please, for the love of god, take it from someone who made these exact mistakes due to misinformation in the DID community: read some books about DID, learn the differences between alters and daydreams, kin-related feelings about fictional characters and mood swings, and stop thinking that you have to split at every minor stress, because you don't and you won't. do this and you might realize that you don't split as often as you think you do.

because the thing that many teenagers with DID fail to take into account is the entire teenage puberty thing. mood swings, hormones, trying to figure out your identity in the world, experimenting with phases of interests and aesthetics, becoming sexually active (in most/many cases), realizing romantic/sexual feelings, realizing that you've been treated badly/unfairly in the past, especially by parents, etc. all of these things related to teenage years can make finding out whats an alter and what isn't, *especially* when you add maladaptive daydreaming on top of that, where some things can feel very real or affect you very hard, and might seem out of your control, so many might just assume that it's an alter when it isn't.

especially with the way social media works, many younger people just tend to take whatever they see online as pure fact without looking into it, especially if it's presented in a semi-professional and confident fashion, which is a HUGE weakness in younger parts of the DID community. many assume that just because a person with DID said it could happen, that it's definitely true and never misinterpreted symptoms or even that the person in question could be lying on purpose. having DID doesn't make you an expert on DID, it makes you an expert on your own experiences with DID, and you can't speak for *anyone's* experiences except for your own. even then, you have to be willing to understand that you may be interpreting parts of your disorder incorrectly, especially when other disorders are involved that may cloud your symptoms somewhat.

i am desperately begging younger parts of the DID community to do some actual reading into the disorder that's more than just tiktoks, twitter threads and carrds without sources. please figure out how the disorder works, how it's actually formed, and make sure what you're saying about the disorder is as accurate as possible. i will even find a way to hand you any DID-related book you want *for free* if you're actually serious about doing the research.

i'm just so tired of misinformation in the DID community being spread by people claiming to have 250+ alters after knowing about their system for 6 months or less and having done no substantial reading into the disorder. if you don't know something about the disorder, if you realize that you are limited in your understanding of it because you haven't read primary, scientific sources on the subject of DID, then it is completely okay to say that and refer a person's questions to someone else who *has* done the hard reading. it is okay to say "i don't know" and have someone else answer the question, you do not have to be a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about DID, and thinking that you do or that you are an expert just because you have DID does a whole hell of a lot more harm than good.

I have not seen any other war where it was so ok not only to say you don’t care,but to actively urge others to not care.

Why? You could just have posted a flag,a “thoughts and prayers” and moved on. I wouldn’t have judged you for it. Or you could have said nothing at all. YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING.

But everyone chose exactly THIS war to talk about “performative activism” and about how you don’t have to make carrds for clout,or you don’t have to care if you’re a minor. Urging people to “just go check official sources”,but rarely actually linking any. And making sure to “educate” others to not donate,because! you might be donating to neo-nazis!

I thought you said to not spread misinfo. I’m pretty sure the links that show up even on official government twitter are legit. Also maybe if it’s the same link and you saw like 10 official journalists posting it too,you can trust it?

Also,you don’t have to donate,but there is some weird motivation in discrediting legitimate requests for help. War is happening. You don’t have to “support it” if you find the idea too barbaric. I mean,I understand the repulsion. Ukrainians would also rather be at home instead of shooting down aircrafts. But war is happening and they have no choice except to fight for their right to remain an independent state. They are not equally matched with Russia’s much bigger military. They received no international help so they are asking for donations in order to be able to defend themselves. They have done so,bravely,for three days already. Kyiv is still standing because they have put up a hell of a fight until now.

If no one seems believable in the sea of comments made by people with foreign unpronounceable names,it’s good to know Ukrainian and Russian don’t even look the same. In the first place,Ukrainian has the “i” letter which Russian doesn’t use. For obvious reasons you won’t even see much russian on the ukrainian side of social media right now.

You keep saying “don’t spread misinformation” and then your next tweet is by some rando who blatantly lies about history,or tries to make it all about America. But he doesn’t have a russian-sounding name,so it’s ok,his version must be the objective unbiased one. Is this how you think it works? How you protect yourself from propaganda? Congrats,you just fell for it,and spread it to the 2000 others who follow your big account.

Or does simply seeing tweets in the scary Russian alphabet make you uncomfy? 80% of those lists of “verified” people to get “unbiased” info from,are just English-speaking blue checkmark journalists or diplomats who cover Moscow. Moscow is not Kyiv.

Why does it always have to be “US says_” for a fact related to a foreign country to be credible?

Kyiv Independent’s twitter has constant updates in English,that’s a good place to start. You can figure it out from there. You won’t die if you follow Ukrainian journalists who also tweet in Ukrainian once in a while. It won’t be sterilized bias-free information,because everyone is human,and emotions are high now,but it won’t be the onslaught of propaganda you’re afraid of. Not anymore that at any other war or protest. But I get the feeling those journalists are too patriotic and too proud of their army for you. They make Ukraine look too good,too strong and too inspiring,and you can’t have that. It’s not “unbiased” enough. It’s not how you were taught Eastern Europe is like.

Does Russia,seen though official Ukraine news,look too much like a cartoon villain? So you feel the need to look for what “the other side” is saying? Maybe Putin is exactly that evil. Maybe you have to accept this is actual reality for any ex-USSR country. There is no “both sides are wrong,we need to be more cautious when talking about this crisis”. Russia is a colonizer. We don’t fucking want to go under them ever again. Hope this helps. Are you looking for your familiar “unbiased”,dictated by those blue checkmarks who don’t even live here, or for Ukraine’s actual history?

Would you say “stay out of it,it’s too complicated” about any other mad dictator trying to kill people because they are a certain ethnicity or nationality? Your problem is that Ukrainians are white,so it surely has to be some other reason. Like that they are neo-nazis (putin lie),that the “separatists” must want independence from the rest of Ukraine (putin lie) or that Russia is just afraid of the US and NATO (true,but not the entire story). You create the misinformation now because the actual reality doesn’t match your neat established worldview. Who gives you the right?

Also about the part where “you can’t do anything”. Maybe your protests could have done something. #WhatUkraineNeeds is a good hashtag to start with to get an idea.

Alright but honestly I distrust any "safety tips" post where a like 25-40 year old is like "when I was a kid the internet was all anonymous we didn't know how old anyone was ugh stop having DNIs or listing your mental illnesses kids it's DANGEROUS"

Because 1) its fundamentally misunderstanding the very clear fact that the "(nickname/alias) | (pronouns) | (age or minor/adult) | (race/ethnicity) | (relevant privilege or identity label)" format (which is the most info I've actually seen given in carrds and bios before) doesn't even remotely come close to being information needed to figure out someone's IRL identity.

And I shouldn't have to explain that knowing either exactly or in terms of underaged / adult how old everyone is in a given online space is actually a helpful safety measure and that insisting that it puts people at risk bc "it makes them a target" is (perhaps deliberately) misunderstanding how bad people on the internet opporate.

Like yes some anonymity is good! Websites that are now demanding people's full identities for them to use are not good at all and we should be pushing against that but to say that children making their ages and boundaries clear is dangerous is borderline malicious advice tbh.

I was a still teenager when BYFs and DNIs became more widespread around 2017-2018 and I can assure you that I was a lot fucking safer when I could say "hey! I'm a teen and I don't want people who support gross shit following me!" in exact terms and then be able to refer to that repeatedly if someone broke my DNI and thus my boundaries.

And about listing mental illnesses or triggers yeah at some point people might use those against you but here's the thing. Those things are used against mentally ill and traumatized people even if they don't list them. My triggers don't stop affecting me if I didn't list them somewhere for people to see and take note of. A teenager saying "please tag images of needles" or something isn't the invitation for destruction that these people think it is when they make these posts.

Like I get that the 30 year olds miss not having to know peoples boundaries and acting like everyone is the same age as them and went into a rage seeing a DNI they were on or something but they really don't have to start a whole genre of "safety tips" posts bc of it lmao

carrd tutorial

another tutorial ! this time for making a carrd!

i had some trouble figuring it out at first, but i absolutely love it now! once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty dang user-friendly, and it’s a great way to get all your links and info all in one place.

let’s start off with some helpful links!

html colors from image (a site where you can upload a picture and get an html color code from any color in the image)

for the purposes of this tutorial, i’m going to be making a new carrd page for one of my ocs, shit fox! also, please note: this is just how i personally make carrds! once you start to get the hang of it, play around with it! see how you like to do things!

the front page of carrd looks like this

if you don’t already have an account, you’ll want to hit “choose a starting point” and if you do, then you’ll want to hit “log in” and get signed in! for this tutorial, i’m going to go off the assumption that you don’t already have an account.

when you hit choose a starting point, you’ll get to this page

i always start with a blank canvas. to do that, just click on the words “blank canvas” in the “Choose a Starting Point” blurb. here’s what that looks like:

i know this might feel a little overwhelming, but don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it feels! let’s start with making you an account so you don’t lose your progress! hit that save button in the upper right corner:

and you’ll get a little popup with some info for you to fill out

this is all pretty self-explanatory so far, but there is a bit more info you’ll have to provide that we’ll get into a little bit more.

Title: this is what’s going to show up on the tab when people open your carrd.

Description: this will show up on certain sites or chat clients as a blurb when you link your carrd.

URL: this’ll be your carrd link! you don’t have to pick one, yet, but i like to pick one right when i start off to make sure i’ve got the url that i want.

Here’s what my example looks like, for reference:

Note: carrd will let you know right away if the url you’ve entered is taken

once you have everything filled out, hit publish! you’ll need to confirm your email before the site will properly go live, so don’t forget to do that!

and don’t forget to save! at any point during the process, you can shift+click that same save/publish button, and it’ll quick-save all your progress. if you want to change any of your settings for your card (like the url, title, or description), you can click the save/publish button (rather than shift+clicking) and it’ll bring back up that menu

first page

i think i’ll have an easier time explaining what each thing does if i walk you through how i personally make carrds, so that’s how i’m going to do this. i like to have my first page be a kind of “landing zone” with a title and buttons, so let’s start there.

containers are a great way to have several elements grouped together. it’s basically a box where you can put in a bunch of elements and they’ll all stay inside that box neatly

so what i’ll do is add a container with this button

and that will give me something that looks like this

you can drag-and-drop the text element that says “Nothing here yet! :)” into the container, or you can just delete it. to delete any element, click on it, and then hit the little trash can icon on the sidebar that pops up

let’s add some elements to our container! click the container to select it, then hit that plus button again. I’m going to add a text element, an image element, and an icons element

now our container looks like this!

let’s start off with the text. this is going to be my title, and i want it in bold, so i’m going to use the text formatting guide and enter in my text with asterisks so it shows up bold

now, you’ll notice at the top that we’ve got three tabs. the first two tabs are the only ones we’re going to focus on, because the settings tab is only available for pro. let’s hop on over to the paintbrush (appearance) tab. the first thing we have here is “styles” and they’re super useful for keeping things consistent between pages and elements.

i want to keep all my titles looking the same, so i’m going to start off by adding a style, calling it “Title”, and applying it to the text. Then, any changes I make to the appearance of this text will get saved to my “Title” style, which i can use later anywhere else on my carrd

right, so how do i want my title to look? we have a lot of customization options to choose from! you’ve got color, font, size, weight, line spacing, letter spacing, margins, appearance, and alignment! here’s the settings that i picked for my title

and here’s what it looks like!

play around with your customization options and find something that works for you and the look you want to go for.

images

let’s add an image here. click on the image element and hit “upload.” it’ll give you the option to crop and edit the image once you upload it, which looks like this:

i’m going to crop mine to be more of a close-up on shit fox, but you can crop and edit your image however you want! if you want your image to link somewhere, you can scroll down from the upload button and paste your link here

let’s move on over to that paintbrush tab again. there’s a good amount of options here, too, and you can use “styles” again!

something important to note is that if you turn “width” all the way down, it switches to “auto” and gives you a “scale” option instead, which scales your image based on its original size.

again, just mess around with these and see what you like! here’s what mine looks like, if you find a reference helpful:

we’re going to skip past the icons and come back to them. i use those for page navigation, and that’s easier to do if you already have your pages set up

so, carrd actually calls these “section breaks” and they’re under the “control” element, so go ahead and add one

give your new section a name! i’m going to be doing an “about” page next, so i’m calling mine “#abt”

the “name” is what you’ll use to link between pages. anywhere on carrd that you can paste a link, you can paste a section name! for example, if i want something to link to the about page i’m going to create, i could just put “#abt” into the link box, and it would direct anyone who clicked on it to my about page!

here’s what things look like so far

anything below that “--- #abt ---” marker will be on my section called “#abt”, which will function as its own separate page! all of the stuff above it has been automatically assigned to a section named “#home”.

container options

on my about pages, i like to have an image next to the text. to do that, we’re going to use another container. i’ll start by adding a container element, then two text elements and an image element.

then, i’m gonna select the container element (if you have trouble finding it, hover your mouse to one side or the other of any of the elements inside of the container, and you should be able to see a dotted line that tells you where the container is. if you’re on mobile, just tap off to the side from any of the elements inside the container)

change the type of container from default to “columns”

here you can edit the ratios of the columns and add more columns. i’m only going to use the two columns, but you do you, boo!

now i’m gonna drag and drop the elements in the container to the columns and places i want them in

and i’m going to adjust the ratios of the container columns

and then it’s just a matter of customizing the text and image elements to look how i want them to!

i got partway through doing that, and decided i didn’t like how it looked. that’s one of the things i really like about carrd. it’s not a super big hassle to change things up if you change your mind.

i’m going to delete the second “text” element and replace it with a “table” element

i’m having a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to word an explanation of how the sections of the table options work, but hopefully these two images kind of help explain it?

over in the paintbrush tab, you’ve got two sections: “table” and “text”

the table section gives you options like style (minimal, or grid style), width, border color, and padding. the text section gives you all the same text options as the text element gives you! here’s what mine ended up looking like:

i added another icons element and moved the “text” element, and here’s what Shit Fox’s about section looks like:

now let’s talk a bit about those icon elements that i skipped over. i absolutely love them for navigation. there’s a bunch of icons for you to choose from. let’s start with the icon element on the first page we worked on. when we click on that, we’ll get a sidebar popup. click on the icon itself (in this case, email) to edit it!

i picked the “right arrow” icon, and i want it to take the viewer to Shit Fox’s about page, so I set the url to “#abt” i want the icon to be black, and then to turn grey when the viewer hovers over it, so i set those accordingly!

so here’s what our first section looks like, now!

now we’re gonna hop on over to the icons element on the about section, and we’ll get into the part i find fun. i’m gonna add some icons!

and then some customization:

the home icon leads to the front page of the carrd, the tumblr icon leads to my Shit Fox tag on my art blog, and the twitter icon links to the @artistsclub twitter account!

background

personally, i kind of like the default background color, but if you want to change it, here’s how. click on the background of your carrd (anywhere that isn’t an element!) and you’ll get this popup

you can set the style of the background to a solid color, a gradient, an image, or a video.

i’m going to set it as a gradient between a pale yellow and a pale green

and i’m going to add a white square grid pattern

note: please be careful when adding and editing a pattern, as sometimes making changes to the “thickness” of the pattern can cause flashing as your changes load in

omg hi ... im like . ashamed to come back after saying brief hiatus in october and then disappearing off the face of the earth til FEBRUARY but under the cut i will be explaining myself and the following, if youre interested (and a tl;dr at the very bottom if you don’t wanna scroll thru this obnoxiously long post):

i. so . Hiatus .

i know. i know . i probably mentioned it when i made the announcement post, but my mental health likes to go on one of those rides. yknow the ones where you go like up rlly fast then down maybe and then up then DOWN .... its like that. i needed a break and every time i wanted to come back or thought about it, something would happen and i would get stuck in my own head.

a big reason for getting stuck in my head was (and i hate to admit this ... i hate to admit that i have Insecurities On The Internet) my feelings of inadequacy regarding my writing. i love to plot fics, i love concepts and characters and making little headcanons but i dont ... know if i love writing rn. and i thought for the longest time that like . whatever ill just push thru it its fine ill be fine but it kinda wasnt lmao you can kinda see it in my halloween reqs and what become of them when i get to that but i began to feel like nothing i had put out or would put out would hold up prose wise (and normally i dont feel like this im much more “idc its my life im living it” but thats not a rant for tumblr LMAO). i still feel like that -- like im better as a reader than a writer. but . You Know :-)

when i left, i was in a steadily decreasing mental and emotional state, made worse by a situation at work that really was a case of petty jealousy on my end and rlly isnt very consequential now despite how much pain and resentment it gave me when it Was a problem so i wont get into it. the tl;dr of november and december was me using work as an crutch and distraction -- i know my job, i do it well, it helped me not think about my responsibilities and obligations and inadequacies. of course, as the holiday season grew busier n busier i was scheduled so often that i moved 88 or so miles (according to my apple watch, which i ONLY wear at work since im never anywhere else outside my house) and fell into a cycle of showering n sleeping at my house before going back the next day. (theres definitely something to be said abt capitalism and “grind culture” here but once again its not the time or place snsjkdfds)

at the turn of the new year, i happened to remember a birthday card i hadnt filed away for safekeeping from a friend of mine that id been horribly out of touch with til that point. i started crying because i realized how out of touch id been in general up until that point. the month of january was great for me: i was focused, happy, and in a much better place than i had been before. the end of it brought me down focus wise and im hoping that enough time away from my distractions will refocus me bc i ... need it LMAO and though ive burned out from that level of productivity and gotten distracted again im ... trying to stay positive which i think is the most i can do 😁👍🏼

media wise, i got real into stardew valley (but burned out bc i played it extensively as a way to wind down after work), the pokemon platinum romhack renegade platinum (still havent finished it bc of school n i played it w the intent to see if i could nuzlocke it ... bitch its so hard but its so fun bc of it), briefly assassins creed: odyssey (im one of those ppl who completes an entire region before i move to the next so you can tell i burned out of that one + wouldnt have the time to properly devote to it even if i didnt), got back into genshin impact after pulling for xiao (after not touching it for like . months), and danganronpa. yes . danganronpa 😐 i Know. i stopped playing it after the second trial of the first game bc i was so hurt by the outcome and picked it up in late january only to get sucked in (thank god i had the foresight to buy the second and third games during the steam winter sale). rn im at the start of chapter 4 if anyone wants to come in my asks and um . talk to me abt danganronpa

iii. you realize halloween was three months ago right

i mentioned this in the first section, but i love to plot things. every request is plotted or at least has a solid foundation. i had fun detailing what concept i wanted to go with considering what i was given, and there were some bangers i might touch up in the future. but heres whats going to happen to the requests themselves:

there are two finished requests. one will be posted tomorrow and the other will be touched up (just bc i finished it doesnt mean its good 🧍‍♂️) and scheduled for next saturday. as for the ones i never got around to ...

i will not be finishing those requests. i hate to be That Person, but i feel like we all expected this 🧍‍♂️ what i will do is post all of my notes for each request in batches -- requests that have an @ to go with them will be mentioned in the post proper, but anon asks will be pictured. (there are some asks that came from blogs who are now deactivated but i wrote down all the prompts and remember most of those askers so ill cross that bridge when i get there) there will most likely be an excerpt or two simply bc i think i mightve written a few plot points or interactions in the form of bullet points. i rlly am sorry about doing this but i remember looking at my notion doc with all the prompts and feeling ... like i wasnt measuring up n it wasnt just to myself or to some intangible concept of “other” id constructed but it was instead to those who requested n actually WANTED to see and hear and read my writing and i ...... im gonna admit thats another big reason i avoided this site.

regardless, youll definitely get what i have (and likely more than just my bullet points and illegible handwriting).

tl;dr: im sorry. what i have in terms of plot, concept, and interaction for every request will be posted, but i cant say ill ever complete them and mean it.

iv. so what now?

well i mean . im not entirely sure how sold i am on haikyuu in the content creation department (as a creator n to a lesser extent, as a consumer). as mentioned previously, its no longer my primary focus. it doesnt mean im not into haikyuu anymore; i have a lot of love for those boys but i cant rlly say im even caught up w recent fandom activity and also havent even finished s4 pt2 LMAO thats on my to do list

and despite all that, i still want to share my plots n concepts and snippets and maybe even fics. it wont happen anytime soon. it might not even happen. but i mean . its better than me saying i wont write ever again shjdkfs but either way ill probably use this blog as a personal blog w the occasional ask game for dialogue prompts (those are always so fun i love making up aus to fit like . the most mundane prompts)

as for my works (past and any potential future), ive opened an ao3 acc here n ill be editing n possibly expanding on my old works to post there. tumblr, to me, is The x reader hub, but i figure more x reader fics on ao3 is never a bad thing.

ill be deleting/posting drafted posts to the queue since they were all meant to be queued anyway as well as (sorry again 🧍‍♂️) deleting or answering asks in the inbox. (moots if you get a notif from me saying i rbed your post from months ago ... mind your business) im very hard to get ahold of and its ... a problem. expect an overhaul of the nav n shit to reflect my new direction n also because i feel like i cant tell if my passion for carrd is shared by the majority HSDKLFS maybe its better to read my info in a normal post ykwim .......

and of course . if youve read all this n decided im no longer worth the follow, i sure as hell cant stop you. thank you for wanting to, at some point, hear what i have to say -- it means more than you think.

im back! i wont be as active as i used to due to a lessened interest in haikyuu in general, but i have an ao3 acc now where all my past work will be edited, possibly expanded, and reposted. any future work will also find itself there. my halloween requests will be posted in batches as incomplete concepts, plots, and snippets of scenes; i wont be promising to finish any of them.

there are still fic concepts im attached to and want to finish, but i cant promise any more writing on my end. this blog will be a personal blog with maybe writing, not a writing blog with my personal thoughts all over it.

Oh, but when it comes to creating characters in WoW, it’s another one of those times where I’ve learned to enjoy it more with time. I’m a big boy and I can just use my imagination when it comes to how my characters look - at times it’s kind of jarring and weird, but there are a couple of points that make things enjoyable for me as someone who is extremely focused on creating, writing and playing with my dolls: the roleplay add-on, and the collection system.

I wish so much that XIV could have an in-game RP mod like the TRP add-on, it’s just SO much better and more fun than people linking their carrd profile in their search info. It’s uniform and consistent, doesn’t require tabbing out of the game and has so many small and useful features for creating a detailed profile and tracking relationships and interactions with others, to simply convey the first impressions your character might give when seen in-game as well as their full backstory and ways in which they might differ from their in-game appearance, not to mention being able to create additional profiles for mounts and pets and add all kinds of OOC info. It’s just really good.

As for the collection system... it’s an absolute god-send for someone who loves creating alts. Account-wide gear appearances, achievements and unlocks of stuff like flying in each area is just so, so good. Even the XIV devs are fully aware of how awkward the glamour system is - I think it’ll get better eventually, though I was disappointed when they recently said they have no plans to make achievement mounts and such account-wide. I know RPers are a minority for having a ton of alts and it’s probably not worth the effort for them to figure out but it would just be really nice. Still, though, I like XIV’s gear better overall in terms of style and the dye system is essential. I saw a comment on reddit or something where someone said that in WoW the devs dye the gear for you in a small handful of variations and add it as an additional raid drop and... yeah, that’s basically what it is. XIV’s dye system isn’t perfect but at least it exists!

Hair: White with flecks of black, in a choppy kind of cut that falls in his face far more often than he would like. His ears and tail (which is fluffy because of course it is) are white with mingling grey.

Eyes: pale grey

Height: 5'4”

Build: slender, slight

Distinguishing Marks: None

Common Accessories: A satchel resting across his chest and at his side, usually containing various plants, medical supplies, salves, etc, as well as a journal and other odds and ends. Almost always wearing some kind of cloak or outer robe with a hood. A stave. He wears a brace on his left leg though it is hidden in his boot and most people never know about it.

Profession: Conjurer. Most often affiliated with the Conjurers in Gridania, who he assists within the Twelveswood. He’s taken to a bit of wandering in the last few years, visiting the other citystates.

Skills: Conjury. He is also a Hearer, though he doesn’t often admit as much. A fairly decent healer using mundane techniques as well and, retaining some of his Keeper heritage, a surprisingly good tracker.

Languages: Eorzean Common, bits and pieces of whatever Sylphs speak.

Residence: He calls Gridania home, though he doesnt have a permanent residence

Religion: Lyrin’a is undecided in how he feels about the twelve. He does give respect to Menphina as any good Keeper should though.

Fears: Fire, helplessness, and to a lesser extent dragons

Personality: Lyrin’a comes across as very pensive and even a little melancholy. That said he tries very hard to be a comforting presence to those around him. He doesn’t often have much to say, but if one got to know him they might find that the quiet Keeper could be rather chatty. He can seem a bit lost in the moment, like he’s listening to something others around him can’t quite hear. He has a great love for his forest home but he’s drawn to the other beautiful places in Eorzea as well- the oceans and mountains, snow blown valleys and humid tropical reaches. The miqot’e has an inquisitive nature and it isn’t beyond him to straw from beaten paths if something looks intriguing off trail.

It’s likely he’s going to make some kind of mistake and out himself as an outsider. *Maybe they’ve met before: I’m perfectly happy figuring out a way they’ve met before and are already acquaintances. Maybe they are vague friends or colleagues, or maybe they’ve known each other for years for one reason or another. Skip the awkward get to know you phase and get right into the silly bickering.
