honestly after getting a good (first half at least) of season 3 my brain has essentially blacked out a good 75% of season 2 and now in my head the progression of the show is just. Season 1 -> yennskier + the jaskier & rience scene -> season 3

Mier in Public vs Private

I was thinking about this earlier today and it’s just. So funny to me.

Mier isn’t always the picture perfect dorm head. When he’s alone, away from prying eyes, he strips his makeup, steals a hoodie, and becomes the ultimate version of a gremlin. Blanket cocoon and all.

What a smart move to find a Malagasy actress for the first major Sea Folk character - a lot of their role and cultural markers have very medieval/early modern Indian Ocean trading vibes, but there's also a lot of (IMO) calls to Pasifika cultures, particularly the tattooing traditions.

Jorin also has a good chance at being a recurring character on the show, I reckon, given that we meet so many different Windfinders in the books and that's the kind of thing a TV show has to simplify down.
