alr since @thelonelydreams humbly requested, I'm making MICHEAL HOLDEN HEADCANONS BC MICHEAL HOLDEN SUPREMACY (btw im using the show micheal not book micheal):

He LOVES cheese. will drown his food in cheese. once went on a date with Tori where they had pasta. He just loaded it up with cheese (tori just casually regretting her life choices atm).

Sorta canon but he's a total dog person. just loves them and would keep some when he gets his own place.

Just starts working directly instead of going to college (in solitaire, he mentions that he has no plans of doing college).

Squirts ketchup into his mouth. like at a diner or something where he takes the squeezy bottle and just, squeezes it right into his mouth.

He's a mix of a golden retriever and an orange cat personality-wise.

Has undiagnosed audhd (was totally a gifted kid growing up but then school got hard).

Spends lots of time online on tumblr and fanfiction sites (for sherlock x watson fics)

Writes his own sherlock x watson fics and uploads them onto AO3/wattpad or smth.

The song "Wake Up" by Cheese People is definitely in his playlist.

Has repressed anger most of the time (may have tried to sh to cope with it but didn't work for him so he stopped).

Is that weirdo who loves pineapple pizza (him and tori have opposing pizza tastes).

Has seen "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" and enjoyed it.

Would be the main character of an indie film (yk those 2000's ones with the whole vibe).

Doesn't bother with taking care of his hair (it has a soul of its own at this point since it's wild).

Didn't know how to tie a tie or his shoelaces until he was 13 or smth.

Tori, Charlie, Nick and Oliver are his found family (and nick's dogs ofc).

Cries when he gets emotional/has an anger outburst.

Climbed trees when he was younger, fell and something happened, next thing yk his eye is now blue (his heterochromia) and that eye is really weak he can't see too well from it.

Is always that one friend whose just, there, in the sidelines, not really included in anything but really wants a band of mates to call his own.

Listens to Glass Animals, Cavetown, Green Day, and just a bunch of indie and 2000's music.

Hates wearing shorts, it's a sensory issue for him tbh.

Is passively suicidal but having Tori in his life reduced that a bit or else according to him, who else would make her feel okay at times?

Becomes a professional speed skater in the future (sorta canon ig?)

Pedro Pascal and Leonardo DiCaprio were his pan awakening. In middle school, he wouldn't mind dating anyone, regardless of gender. Then later on realized that it was an actual thing called being pan and yea just a bunch of questioning before realizing ig.

Doesn't need physical intimacy in a relationship, he's fine with hugs and kisses and that stuff.

Would LOVE carnivals and their games, food, rides etc.

Likes wearing crocs, just ridiculous lime green froggie crocs. Switches them between default and "sports" mode.

Michael Holden hcs (again)

Michael blushes at almost any compliment, whether or not it's romantic because he doesn't understand how to take a compliment very well.

Michael is a heavy sleeper, and he really messes up and hogs the blanket when he sleeps. Because of this, if he sleeps over with Tori she usually makes him sleep on the floor out of spite.

Tori has to remind Michael not to brush his curls out, because they get so frizzy

Michael is a nervous triple texter, semi-indescriminately

Michael will wear the same thing for a while, not out of depression but out of comfort. When Tori comes over/he sees Tori, he desperately tries to find an outfit that she won't know he's been wearing.

Michael is a clean freak & a messy guy at the same time.

Michael sometimes forgets his glasses when he goes places.

Michael hates cold showers.

Michael's general response to a lot of things is that people "just don't make that much sense".

Sometimes, when Michael doesn't know what to say, he just goes silent resulting in a conversation ending.

Michael still owns his favorite childhood plush, but he keeps it hidden because he's kind of embarrassed about it.

Victoria "Tori" Spring and Michael Holden from Solitaire are autistic. 

Tori:

-She's very quiet and deadpan/monotone, and she doesn't really see the purpose of being social. Her (only) friend even jokingly congratulates her on being able to hold a conversation with someone.

-Safe food is diet lemonade. It's like the only thing she consumes in the entire book.

-One of the main themes of Solitaire is Tori herself, and this is shown through her past hyperfixations. The most notable is Star Wars, but there's also music and other things (she mentions how she becomes super fixated on a song and it's the only thing she listens to until she gets tired of it).

-She doesn't understand other people, much less herself, and is constantly questioning why they are the way they are.

-She has extreme black and white thinking and is constantly putting people into boxes. She's very observant of their behavior and actions, though she can't quite comprehend them.

-Despite her black and white thinking, Tori is constantly seeing things from different perspectives than other people (ex: her essays on Pride and Prejudice)

-She's blunt and is acutely aware of what's socially acceptable for people her age, as if she's had to learn it.

-She despises talking on the phone because it takes away her ability to just sit and say nothing while the other person says whatever they need to.

-She feels different than everyone she encounters, and the first person she truly connects with on a level where she sort of sees herself in him is Michael.

-She's always thinking about how her social life would be if she wasn't so awkward and pessimistic all of the time.

Michael:

-His special interest is definitely speed skating, but he also really enjoys literature, reading all of the books that Tori has but refuses to read.

-He loses control of his emotions sometimes, and says things he doesn't mean, such as calling Tori a "manically depressed psychopath." He has a meltdown when he places second in a race and fails to qualify for the next round.

-He's always pondering the most abstract things and asking random questions that nobody else really thinks of, always seeing things from multiple standpoints.

-He was a bit of an outcast at his old school, and a lot of people openly find him weird and are put off by his personality.

-Safe food is tea. Like Tori has diet lemonade, he's always got a cup of tea.

-He becomes extremely set on becoming Tori's friend even if it kills her, and he doesn't understand why she seems so blatantly bothered by the idea of it.

-He indirectly talks about masking to Tori by saying that "normal" is something that they both have to actively try to bring out for other people.

-He doesn't do well in school despite how smart he actually is. He says he doesn't understand test-taking and believes skating is what's going to get him places in life, not school. His grades aren't reflective of his perceptive, observant, and analytical nature.

-He doesn't have any friends, but Tori is the first person he really connected with on a personal level, and he's constantly looking at how she sees the world and challenging those views.

i just cant get over the idea of micheal telling random people in the supermaket's line about how an amazing cute adorable partner he has and how lucky he is for have them in his life

So p much I have a ton of hcs for Michaela, but if you’re looking for lore n shit abt her then here u go:

So tbh with you, I rlly don’t know how she came to be, it’s like one of those “popped in my head” scenarios, thought I was original for it but Alice actually drew both genderbent Michael and Tori a couple years back

So she was already a thing prior to me getting into solitaire, so when I saw her canon design I just ran w it and kind of made it my own in the span of a few months.

Tori & Michael headcannons

Michael enjoys bringing Tori food often, he knows all her favorites and he stops by the restaurant she loves to bring her lunch, grabbing his as well and texting her that he's coming over. He asks her if he can stay, and if that's not okay he seeks a hug/kiss instead.

Michael has insomnia, and takes medication for it, but he still struggles to sleep.

Michael HATES talking about who he was in the past.

Tori sometimes steals Michael's clothes, and the funny thing is, due to her actually wearing such oversized things (hoodies, jumpers etc only) he can sometimes wear her clothes too.

Michael likes online shopping more than shopping irl.

When they live together, Michael does all the grocery shopping.
