Heartstopper Headcanons/fic ideas:

Any time Tori hands Micheal a bottle of anything his muscle memory kicks in and he just opens it and hands it back to her because she always hands him her diet lemonade bottles to open

When Nick becomes a teacher, Micheal offers to come in to the school once a year because the kids get so excited that their teacher knows an Olympian

Coach Singh nonchalantly mentions her wife to the Paris Squad and everyone freaks out except Nick

On almost every anniversary of their beach date, they go back and Nick recreates the 'we're boyfriends' thing

When they're older, Charlie buys Nick a camera for his birthday because he loves taking photos and filling up family photo albums

Nick has some really obscure allergy like kiwi or peaches or something

There are obviously theatre kids in the group so hc for their favorite musicals:

Any talented fanfiction writers in the Heartstopper fandom who want to write my Charlie Proposes First headcanon?

So, it takes place around the time that Charlie graduates uni (Nick graduated a year prior) and they’re moving into their first place together.

Tao has joined Charlie to help him do some moving-house shopping, and they pass by a jewelry store and Tao wants to stop to get Elle something for her birthday. Charlie sees a ring that it just so perfectly Nick. (At this point marriage is still kind of a far-off concept in Charlie’s mind. Like they’ve talked about getting married at some point but in a very abstract off-in-the-future kind of way.) He casually points out the ring to Tao who is like, “Haha, you guys have basically been married for years now, are you finally ready to tie the knot?” and Charlie kind of laughs it off, but then they go home, and Charlie cannot stop thinking about the ring. He doesn’t tell anyone, but he goes back to buy it and decides he’ll just save it for when he and Nick are both finally ready. But then just having the ring makes marriage feel more real, like he realizes he’s actually going to get married to Nick Nelson one day and he starts to kind of obsess over it and how he might propose. He wants it to be a grand gesture but he also wants to make it special and personal but not too cheesy and also not too public but not too boring either. In true Charlie Spring fashion, he gets himself all worked up over it, and to calm himself down, he starts to carry the ring around with him, just so he’s ready if the opportunity ever presents itself.

Anyways, flash forward a handful of months and Nick and Charlie are home for the holidays staying with Nick’s mom, and they’ve offered to do the Christmas dinner shopping. They’re walking through the store, just chatting, and Charlie can feel the ring in his pocket. He just stops and looks at Nick and all of the sudden realizes “I am so in love with this man, and I want to be married to him, like, yesterday.” And without even really thinking about it, Charlie blurts out “We should get married” and Nick thinks he means like someday eventually, so he just says “Yeah?” and turns around all smiley like nothing’s happening, and then he sees how nervous Charlie looks and he realizes Charlie is serious. Meanwhile alarms are going off in Charlie’s brain because he’s starting to realize like, “Oh shit, I think I’m proposing right now?!!!!” And he scrambles in his pocket for the ring and is like “Yeah!” and fumbles out this unplanned but incredibly heartfelt proposal. Nick is completely stunned and isn’t really saying anything, and Charlie’s brain starts to spiral like “Oh shit I’ve fucked it up! What am I doing proposing to him here?! Charlie Spring, you complete idiot! Of course you would pick the least romantic place in the entire world to ask the love of your life to marry you. As if he would say yes to you in a Tesco! You couldn’t have thought this through more?!” And then Nick starts to tear up and fishes around in his own pocket and pulls out… you guessed it, a ring! And they both start sobbing, and say yes to each other.

Turns out Nick had bought a ring back in the summer too and had wanted to propose but didn’t want to add stress to Charlie’s already full plate with graduation and starting a new job and moving into a new place, so he had decided to wait. He’d been trying to work up the nerve to take Charlie to the beach where they had their first date and propose there, but just wasn’t sure when it would be the right time, and he didn’t want to rush Charlie into anything if he wasn’t ready to be married just yet. And Charlie’s like, “Oh my God, I am so sorry I ruined your proposal! And I asked in a Tesco of all places. I’m an idiot!” And Nick hushes him and is like “You’re not. It was perfect. You’re perfect.”

And then they go to the beach anyways to celebrate their engagement.

Heartstopper headcanons.

These are random and based on the comics and the show.

1. Charlie over the years starts swearing more and more because of Nick’s influence. Nick swears like a sailor. Ironically enough, eventually Charlie eventually swears more than Nick and learns to use them quite creatively.

2. Nick learns he wants to become a primary school teacher because he volunteered as a rugby coach for a kids rugby team in university.

3. Charlie likes loads of blankets and layers at night, Nick sleeps in boxers with a single sheet.

4. Neither of them like doing dishes so they do silly little challenges to see who has to do them (à la no kiss challenge in Paris)

5. The first time their friends call them Narlie as a joke they both hated it but they both secretly loved it.

6. Charlie tends to dress more formally while Nick is more casual in his clothing choices.

Nick was in the middle of an intense rugby match, the sound of his teammates shouting and the whistle of the referee filling the air. His body was pumping with adrenaline as he sprinted down the field, ready to take the ball and make the game-winning play. But then—his phone buzzed in his pocket. He barely heard it over the roar of the match, but when the buzz came again, more insistent this time, he slowed down, confused.

He shot a glance at his coach, who nodded toward the sidelines. "You good?" his coach called, noticing Nick was distracted.

Nick nodded, though his mind was already elsewhere. He jogged off the field, grabbing his phone and quickly answering it as he reached the sidelines. It was the daycare.

“Hello?” Nick answered, trying to keep his voice steady, but his heart rate already quickening.

“Hi, Nick, it’s Claire from the daycare. We just wanted to let you know that your daughter isn’t feeling well. She’s asking for you.”

Nick felt his stomach drop. "Is she okay? What happened? Is she hurt?" he said quickly, already turning to leave the field.

"She’s not hurt, just a bit upset. She’s asking to go home, says she doesn’t feel well. We just thought you should know."

“I’ll be there in five minutes,” Nick said, without a second thought. He wasn’t about to finish the game now—his daughter needed him.

His coach gave him a concerned look as Nick sprinted to the locker room to grab his things. "Go," the coach said. "We'll finish without you."

A few minutes later, Nick was rushing into the daycare, heart pounding. He hoped, more than anything, that his daughter wasn’t really sick—he couldn’t stand the thought of her being in pain or discomfort, even if it was something small.

He walked in quickly, his eyes scanning the room. There you were, sitting in the corner, sniffling a little, your eyes wide as you looked up at him.

“Daddy!” You stood up and ran to him, your little arms wrapping tightly around his legs.

Nick’s breath caught, and he crouched down quickly, pulling you into his arms. "Hey, sweetheart, what’s going on? Are you feeling sick?"

You shook your head, sniffling. "I just... I miss you, Daddy. I want to go home with you."

Nick felt his heart ache. It wasn’t what he expected—you weren’t sick, not really. You were just homesick. You missed him, missed the days when he would drop you off at daycare and stay with you longer, when you would have more time together before kindergarten started. Nick’s protective instincts kicked in, but this time it wasn’t about rushing you to a doctor or picking you up from an emergency—it was about holding you close and understanding that this transition was hard for you.

"Hey, it’s okay," Nick whispered, smoothing your hair back. "I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere. We can go home, but we’ll talk about it, okay? You’re doing so well, sweetie, I’m really proud of you."

You wiped your eyes with the sleeve of your shirt. “I want to stay with you. I want to go to school with you.”

Nick smiled softly, his heart melting. "I know, love. I know it’s tough. You used to come with me to school, huh? It’s a big change, but it’s okay to miss me. I miss you too. You’ll get the hang of it, I promise. How about we go home and talk about it?"

You nodded slowly, comforted by his presence, your little hands gripping onto his as you walked out of the daycare together.

On the way home, Nick’s thoughts were full of concern. He hadn’t expected this moment, but it was clear now that the transition to kindergarten had been harder than he realized. You still wanted to be with him, like you used to, and he couldn’t help but feel the weight of that. Nick knew that no matter how old you got, you’d always need him, and he was more than happy to be there.

When you two arrived home, he promised you both would talk more about it, helping you adjust and reassuring you that it was okay to feel sad or scared. He knew you weren’t the only one having a tough time—he was navigating this as a young dad too, doing his best to balance his own life with being there for you when you needed him the most.

ah yes im pretty sure they're all very active there canonically too! might be a different platform im getting mixed up with but heres some:

Nick posts Nellie. a LOT

Tori has a playlist story (she has superb music taste) (idk if u can make insta private stories i don't use it much but if not she posts music on her story)

Charlie also posts Nellie but mainly posts about whenever he's with his friends

Darcy posts memes, ones that she made herself and ones that aren't hers

Tara however posts the most gorgeous poems she scribbled down in like five minutes

Heartstopper Headcanons!!!

these are around the timeline of the show (so like 2020s)

Nick and Imogen grew up together and therefore developed similar obsessions over things in media - Nick became a directioner and Imogen became a 5sos stan. (She's a hardcore Luke Hemmings stan)

When they were first getting together, Nick would sent various 1D/Solo songs to Charlie. Charlie's favourite 1D song is Clouds

Charlie was a Percy Jackson kid and he'd spend his lunchtimes as a Year 7-8 in the library re-reading the books. This is where he met Isaac, who was holding a copy of a novel that was adapted into a film that Tao liked, and the group was born.

Sai also read Percy Jackson when he was younger, and he used that to bond with Charlie when he initially joined the rugby team.

The two of them get Nick to read the books, and he gets HOOKED, then reads to Heroes of Olympus series and gets hooked on that, but it's because Nick has a type and Percy Jackson is part of that type

The group has a huge sleepover whenever they want to watch a new film, usually at either Nick or Tao's houses due to the bigger spaces. On occasion they'll go to either Elle or Imogen's houses.

They watched Saltburn and Challengers together.

Isaac gets them to watch Red, White, & Royal Blue one evening and they all LOVE it

Charlie develops a crush on Nicholas Galitzine

When The Idea of You comes out, Nick & Imogen has the August Moon songs on repeat

Nick often drives some of the group to and from school, and they jam out to throwback songs

When Nick gets fed up with David, he'll call Charlie to hang out and rant about him for an hour at least

Tao accidentally gets dragged into one of Nick's rant sessions and thoroughly decides that it is 'on sight' if he ever sees David

Nick is the only one in the friend group to be on both sides of Taos protective streak

In uni, one of Nick's friends does his nails and he really likes it but only does it for special occasions bc rugby chips the polish too fast

Anytime someone of the Paris Squad says 'pardon my french' Nick shouts 'FUCK' as loud as possible/appropriate

Darcy continuously makes fun of Nick for being French (a lot of these involve nick, whoops)

Darcy has Nick try marijuana once, and he ends up spending the whole night in Charlie's arms bc he got really paranoid

Charlie would work at a 24-hour queer bookstore at some point

Tara and Elle wear bonnets to bed and swap hair-care tips with each other

Darcy shaves the sides of her head and Tara is obsessed with the texture, affectionately calling her 'kiwi'

Charlie goes through kind of an alternative phase aesthetic wise in uni (nick is OBSESSED)

Charlie refuses to get glasses even though he definitely needs them

David tried to crash Nick+Charlie's wedding but Sai, Christian, Otis, and Tao kicked him out before he could do any damage

No one tells Tao and Elle that Charlie passed out in Paris until it comes up in a conversation like a year later and everyone assumes that they were told

Darcy + Charlie get matching semicolon tattoos (ik it's kinda cringe)

Charlie and Tori get matching tattoos (I haven't decided what they would get yet)

Micheal would be one of the Olympians that makes stupid Tik Toks (he'd be like the muffin guy)

Someone gets Charlie a pair of elastic shoelaces and he is over the moon bc converse are not easy to get on

The only other pairs of shoes that Charlie owns that aren't converse are a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of combat boots

Elle paints a pair of converse for Charlie

Charlie is the first person Issac comes out to as aroace

tara: likes red velvet and learns their choreographies as practice for dance

elle: honestly don't see her liking kpop much

what do you think the story will entail for book five, and are you excited or sad?

Oh my god I have so many thoughts! As a reader of the Nick and Charlie novella though, I think we all have a general idea of where it’s going! I’m really excited to read books 5 (and 6!) but sad for it to end. 😢

One headcanon I have though is that when Nick is trying to fill out the “My future” planning sheet for school, he doesn’t know what to put for career, education, etc. The only one he fills in with any confidence is “Family: Charlie” and Charlie probably finds that after the events of the novella, and it really soothes his anxieties about long-distance. ❤️
