Michael was born and raised in NYC to the Rose pack, eventually becoming the Alpha when he was in his 30s and already a father to Dominic and Roxanna. After his divorce with their mother when the children were young, she and Michael engaged in a messy custody battle which brought out the typical Rose trait of greed and power-hunger. He pulled all the strings he could behind the scenes and won full custody over the children, removing their mother from the pack and sending her on her way. Michael did all of this with ease because it was precisely how he was raised and precisely how the Rose pack managed not only their private affairs, but business too. He believed strongly that the pack was where his children belonged and raised both of them to be just as ruthless as he is.

Michael lead the Rose pack with a firm hand and there was no fairness to be found anywhere. One step out of line was met with harsh consequences and it didn't matter if you were a valued member of the pack, or Michael's actual blood. He was a stern Alpha and offered little to no explanation on his orders, because when they were given he expected them to be followed. It was why he had no issue shunning Roxy when she gave over information that cost wolves their lives. Michael had no compassion for the torture she endured and instead ordered his own daughter to be distrusted and mistreated within her own pack.

When the war began in 2020, Michael was confident that their power and wealth within New York City would be their protection and they were able to remain undetected for a year. He ignored Dominic's warnings about Roxy until eventually learned his lesson the hard way, when she handed the pack over to the human military in 2021. It was Michael's idea to abandon the pack with Dominic, under the guise of finding Roxy to make amends. Truthfully, Michael wanted her to pay the price for her actions for once and for all.

While traveling with his son, Michael has kept searching for other pack members where he can but he has been primarily focused on finding his daughter. He was more sickened at the thought of being crossed by her than any worry of her safety and eventually in 2023, the three were united when captured. They were in a facility together for several more months, Michael reluctantly reforming the bond he once had with Roxy. When the facility was liberated, the three remained together and found Hollow Cove in September.

Michael still doesn't trust Roxanna and is going out of his way to make things difficult for her. He believes she will always crumble under extreme pressure and wants to prove to Dominic for once and for all that she isn't worthy of joining their pack. However, Michael also knows that he needs her help to find other wolves until his plan can really move into action.

concern for dominic has to take a backseat, michael forever focused on the bigger picture. emotions always pushed aside for the sake of survival and perseverance. prior to his son's disappearance, they had many discussions on the pack moving forward. how previous and lost members should be their last concern, and rebuilding the rose's into a new pack entirely is the priority. and if dominic has been taken, now is the very real threat of finding members that no longer are wanted. as always roxy is a thorn in his side, her sudden energy shifting to caring about dominic is something michael didn't account for. seeing her elbow her way into search lists, which michael has to promptly change for alex or delilah instead, knowing their desire to find dom is much less than his daughter's clearly is.

but, for a second time, he doesn't account for the sudden ways roxanna reacts. it's almost as if she tricks those around her into believing she will always be a snake in the grass rather than a gun to a head. michael taking a resigned breath as soon as he's staring down the barrel of a pistol. he reacts no further than that as his daughter makes him sit at the table, only a subtle nod to show he listens, despite knowing exactly what she's noticed. "alex and delilah are better suited to find dom, roxanna. i don't trust you to not sabotage getting to him." he twists easily, his voice level and unwavering. he doesn't break their locked gaze. "if you really wanted to find your brother, how come i haven't seen you work with the other wolves once." he adds for better measure, a rose's nature always able to drive a knife and twist it. michael shows no rush to get himself away from the sights of the gun either, and his voice lowers to the same coldness as his daughter's. "you don't have silver bullets, roxanna. grow up, maybe then you'd be on a search."

Roxy's preferred method of survival is a sturdy knife wedged, precise and deliberate into somebody's back. She's quiet footsteps and sly grins. She's shark eyes and wolf teeth. At least, that's what some would say. Those closest to her would know how she's not only a whisper of a wind but a raging storm. She's a gun placed to her father's forehead as he opens the cabin door, the click of it matching the sharpness in her eyes. "Hey, dad." she's a forced smirk, lifeless and mean. "I think we need a talk, don't you?" and now, she's all of it at once. "And when I say talk, I mean, listen to me." her words are as cool as the metal pressed to her own blood's face, urging Michael Rose towards the table with her finger hovering dangerously close to the trigger.

All of this to gain a father's attention, all of this to be taken seriously isn't normal and she knows it. But, it's ingrained now. Shouldn't he be proud? "I've been elbowed out of every fucking search I put my name on. And, at first, I thought someone on the council had it out for me." Roxy speaks levelly and slow, recounting everything she's experienced since Dominic's disappearance. "And then...as if fucking God himself wanted to chit chat in my ear. I heard something." she knows he knows where this leads, the gun still pushed against him. "Why are you getting me taken off the searches?" she isn't really asking, and he knows that too. "You're scared, and it's starting to show." Roxy tuts then, but there's no glimmer of humor not even in her usual amusement when she mocks and jeers. "Stop. Taking. My name off them. Yeah?"
