Mike let Aubrie know that they were having a meeting with the principle to go over some things before school started. She followed behind him, trying her best to hide her anxiety. Truthfully, she hated these kinds of meetings. It wasn’t her first time being called to the office of her school’s principle or vice principle. They always expressed concern for her situation, but never offered her any help. It was always "you need to come to school, Aubrie" or "stop missing so many classes, Aubrie."

She was lost in her thoughts and nearly ran into Mike when he stopped and lightly knocked on the door to the principle’s office. Mr. Williams, the high school’s principle, was waiting for them both as they entered and sat down.

Mr. Williams: Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to meet with me, Mr. Whittaker. And Miss Burke, I appreciate your patience as we get things set up to ensure your safety.

Mike: So like I explained on the phone, I’ll be setting up security perimeters around the entire school. There were already cameras monitoring the school grounds and I’ve just added a few extra to cover some of their blind spots.

Mr. Williams: Will there be a security detail following Miss Burke?

Mike: Not following her personally, no. I have deployed plain clothes security officers to monitor the situation around the school. Along with the security officers monitoring the entrance, exit, and the security cameras, I feel that is more than adequate protection without getting too intrusive into Aubrie--Miss Burke’s--personal activities.

Mr. Williams: Perfect. And as we discussed, this campus is a gun free zone--

Mike: None of my officers are carrying guns or weapons of any kind. They’ve all been trained to disarm threats without the use of a weapon. And trust me, I’d have no problem leaving my own life in their hands. They’re good at what they do. No one will be able to get to Miss Burke.

Mr. Williams: Great! We want all of our students to feel safe and secure on our campus.

Aubrie sat in silence as Mike and the principle discussed more details. The more she heard, the better she felt.

There was absolutely no way Loretta or Jerry could get to her while she was in school.

Apparently Jodie ran into Michael in a toy shop in Australia while Michael was in Oz for Amadeus. David also does a little impression of Michael's voice, which is the most adorable thing ever...

The NuWho Doctors and Crowley and Aziraphale

Nine- Crowley loved him. He thought Nine was cool and daring, the perfect way to reboot the series. He wasn't really Aziraphale's favourite, but he enjoyed Eccleston's run nonetheless.

Ten- Crowley didnt get the hype around him. He liked Donna, though. Aziraphale loved him, for reasons unknown to Crowley. He saw himself and Crowley in Ten and Rose. Crowley saw himself and Aziraphale in Ten and Joan Redfern (He was Joan)

Eleven- Aziraphale found him quite charming. Crowley liked his first season, but didn't care much for his second. Aziraphale loved Amy and Rory's love story. Crowley adored River, but overall wasn't quite invested with the overarching story.

Twelve- Not Aziraphale's cup of tea at all. Too dark for him. Crowley, on the other hand, defends him constantly, even though he didn't like some of the writing. But he did make Aziraphale watch Capaldi's second season with Bill Potts and Nardole which the angel had to admit he enjoyed.

Thirteen- Crowley's guilty pleasure. Every time someone criticises her, he bites back a well-rehearsed defense of her and pretends not to care. Aziraphale, however, is more open about being obsessed with her seasons. He brings her up in every argument about the show, and shuts down any critisicm of her writing.

Fourteen- Aziraphale was delighted to see his favourite Doctor come back, even if it was just for three episodes. Crowley didn't see what was so good about him, but he liked seeing Donna return, and he liked Rose Noble.

Fifteen- Aziraphale and Crowley are both thoroughly enjoying his era so far. Crowley thought the Sutekh reveal was a bit stupid, but Aziraphale was excited by it. They both agreed that Rogue was the best episode ("It's just so sweet!" Aziraphale would say, "And he's so dashing!") But in public, Crowley would say his favourite was Boom. They can't watch the Christmas Special together this year, but they will both watch it alone, at the same time, and think of each other.

Whittaker’s truly an experience honestly. His and Callahan’s relationship is very dear to me; they’re very close with one another and each others best friend and that’s something I love to see in media, so it’s also fun to put it in my own.

I currently haven’t developed Darcy much yet, but what I can tell you is this; pre-plot, Whittaker leaves on a long-term work project impulsively, leaving Callahan and Darcy back home. Darcy is still quite young when this happens (only 4-5 years old) and she’s about 7-8 when Whittaker finally shows up again. This obviously would put a strain on their relationship, not to mention the external assets that effect them as characters as well. Whittaker loves his kid, that is clear, and it never wavers the entire time; on the other end however, Darcy is confused and even a little betrayed by Whittaker’s absence. Otherwise, Darcy is a very creative kid, similar to both of her parents in that aspect. She can be a little loud-mouthed at times, but not in a malicious way. Definitely the kind of kid to fact check you without hesitation if you got a detail wrong. She inherited her parents mutual passion for the sciences, and is especially interested in medical biology* (which is yes, very odd for a child her age, but that’s what you get when you grow up with a cryobiologist and mechanical engineer who often used their workplace as free daycare). *(That detail is plot relevant)

hi this is the character ask game thing today's contender: KAS METIS-QUETZEVE IPA: kɑ̈s metɪs kʰɛt͡seɪve AVERAGE PHONETIC: kahs meh-tis ket-say-vay PRONOUNS: He/They (prefers masc terms) CAST TYPE: Earth/Light splitcasting, which would usually appear in the form of light refraction through different materials, but he specialized more towards the earth side of his casting for work.

PERSONALITY: Kas, overall, is a kind and attentive person; He doesn't half-ass caring about things. Whether it's his work, or his family, or his family's friends, he will do everything in his power to make sure they're safe, happy, and generally okay. Needless to say, this makes it so that sometimes he forgets to take care of himself. He's been trying to do better about that. His biggest flaw is probably the fact that he is very, very obvious about things; they try not to be directly rude or blunt, but in a world of office politics and having to respectfully discuss things, they struggle. They never really learned how to talk about their ideas as a kid, as they were seen as just the ramblings of the youngest child obsessed to death with space- and that appears in their conversations now. They just don't know when to stop talking, and because they love talking, this can become a problem. Kas is also an avid music lover, and a very religious person, though part of that might be the fact he's married to a priest (more on his husband, Tzalos, later.) He's always felt most connected to Deusae Tenebri, Tellarae, and Radian- the gods of space/creation, physics and the death/life cycle, and light/movement respectively. (fun fact: his favorite song is Jupiter by Gustav Holst, and he's also named after a moon of Jupiter, Metis. The moon is pronounced slightly different but hey it's fun anyway)

WORK: Kas is project director on Board Six of the Pavilic Astronomical Research Institute (PARI)'s Spacecraft Research Divison; He loves his job to death. More or less, it's his job to oversee and direct what projects are assigned to his board by the Oversight Committee. They're the ones in kahoots with the rest of the department, and sending down the jobs to whatever board they think can work on it best. Think of it like a council with several different assembly lines, and they decide which things could be best made by which assembly line. Occasionally, they'll tell two of those lines/boards to work together, or they'll have giant 9-Board meetings to discuss something they can't figure out, etc. Usually, his jobs go like "problem-discussion-resource gathering-solution." Sometimes, it's a lot more of "problem-discussion-research-discussion-research-more research-even more research-resource gathering-not enough resources-communicate funding issues-research-build-solution." He's pretty much been all over the country in meetings with him and his "boss" (a board director on the OC named Diakerizi Askells-tye'Remerroae, who has a comically long name, and yes that's plot important) talking to different people and trying to explain to them why, yes, they DO need an unrestricted supply of synthesized Solaeic materials, unless you want the people in that craft to start overheating the second they get inside. That probably looked like a bunch of word vomit, but making the Magic Version of NASA has been very fun and i love that actually

FAMILY: - Doesn't talk to his own much - Met his absolutely lovely husband Tzalos Quetzeve (he/him, lightcasting) while traveling for work (they had to commit shenanigans and tomfoolery and other kinds of mischief while attempting to convince a temple to join their fundraising committee for some youth education stem initiative, long story) - Has a wonderful child named Teq Quetzeve (who took Tzalos's last name because it sounded better, which is pretty common, as all last names are hyphenated in Pavilic culture, so shortening them is kind of a must.) (also, he/she/they lightcasting). Teq went into Applied Cast Mechanics (basically magic engineering) because of Kas (he was a big inspiration for them) and works for the government now. - was/is actually one of the best parents in the series (though that bar is quite low)

CONCLUSION: Kas is enthusiastic, devoted, and yet sometimes too much so. They really like space, work for Magic NASA, and are a generally nice person to be around. He is the kind of person to go ask for something when they mess up his order at a restaurant while also being aware of the busy environment he's in and how to not be a karen about it. thanks for listening :) - HC

Oh I like this guy a lot. He seems like a very intricately crafted character, and a lot of love clearly went into this entire story you’ve built.

I think he’d best get along with Michael Whittaker, an assistant cryobiologist at an Antarctic research station and resident radio host.

Whittaker (I often refer to my characters by their surnames), after being permanently injured after his service in the army, began to take on biology as a pet project, and eventually grew into a genuine passion. At a job he got out of college, he meets Callahan Finch. While not in love romantically, they are each others ride or die, and have a kid together as well.

Whittaker is also a very devoted parent to their daughter, Darcy, but doesn’t always make the best decisions in regards to the big picture.

He gets along well with most, but is also terribly impulsive at times when speaking.

I think Kas and Whittaker, while having contrasting fields of work, would bond over their love for their families and passion for their careers.

Also, Magic NASA sounds pretty fucking sick and I love that.

Awesome character.

Mike decided that after what happened, he should be the one to take Aubrie to and from school, alone, on her first day back. It also gave him the opportunity to talk to the girl without Liam throwing him dirty looks from the sidelines.

Mike: I’m sorry if this was too much too soon.

Aubrie: I told you before, I’m okay.

Mike: It’s understandable to be scared, Aubrie. But I’m good at what I do. Nothing is going to happen to you as long as I’m your bodyguard, okay?

Aubrie: They’re still gonna be watching me though... What if--

Mike, interrupting: I took care of it. Even if they can see you, they can’t do anything about it. Not with the security team I’ve put into place with the school’s cooperation.

Aubrie: I’m sorry for making you go through so much trouble.

Mike: You’re not making me do anything. It’s a job--my job--that I’m being well compensated for. If I wasn’t up for the task, if I thought I couldn’t properly protect you, I wouldn’t have taken the job. Basically, you’re my employer at the moment. So no more apologies.

Aubrie, soft: Your employer, huh...

The rest of the car ride was silent. Aubrie stared out the window, watching the world race by as she tried to collect her thoughts. She wasn’t sure if she trusted Mike’s word, but she trusted Liam. That had to be enough for her.

Mike, loud: We’re here.
