SUPERNATURAL SEASON 15 - final season - part 1 - i finally made it to the bitter end
Tumblr media
Jack’s dead :/ and it does seem like the hunts (at least from the earlier seasons) 😓😱 have been undone as we see some familiar ghosts and some new ones running around trying to kill the helpless townspeople nearby. Sam & Dean try to do some damage control after a new demon swoops in to bail them out of the overrun graveyard. Sam manages to convince the local sheriff about getting everyone evacuated into a nearby high school that will conveniently be out of range for a spell Belphegor proposes to contain the bloodthirsty ghosts.
Meanwhile Sam’s starting to feel the consequences of his attempted God assassination (only you Sam — fitting considering what He wanted you to become) as a wound appears on his shoulder that’s probably not gonna heal. Cas certainly can’t do anything about.
Side note - I guess Jack ain’t getting a funeral huh 😒
While Dean mothers his baby bro at the end of the premiere episode, he momentarily laments how futile his life feels while Sam tries to keep the hope alive that they’ll find some way out of the mother of all shitstorms they’re in right now as for one of the final arcs of the show the brothers take on God Himself in rebellion for the lives He made them live? 🤷🏽‍♀️
Cas finds some time with Dean later in 15x02 after Dean made it clear that he’s still super steamed about Castiel dropping the ball where Jack & Mary are concerned. But he’s not just mad about last season.
Tumblr media
Dean’s pissed about the whole show (as he should be considering how his story ends) cuz it’s clear to Dean that their lives were never their own, as God had been pulling the strings the whole time, trapping the Winchesters in a maze to more or less see what Sam and Dean would do with the roles bestowed upon them. And where they are now, the position God has put them in, it all seems so…pointless. Dean thought he was fighting the good fight, but probably feels no different than a puppet. As he put it, he’s a hamster in a wheel and he’s been running this whole time— going absolutely nowhere. So Dean does what he does best and projects his feelings onto the person he’s talking to that can conveniently relate to what Dean is going through himself and make it seem like it’s just them - this time it just happens to be Cas.
But Cas tries to get through to Dean by pointing out 1 very super important thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which I think is important cuz sure Chuck wanted Sam & dean to be these rough & tough boys who kick ass, fuck chicks and drink tons of liquor, but Cas was never part of the overall plan. God probably kept bringing him back from the dead just so that the Winchesters had a useful ally (which may be why Cas has at times never felt like he belonged with Dean [and/or Sam] and felt his friendship with the brothers was contingent on his utility) but Cas wasn’t supposed to have the profound bond he does with Dean. So even though these 2 are on the outs (forgive him, Dean you stubborn dumbass), their relationship is still a rebellion, an aberration, this unplanned, unforeseen thing that God can’t control (or doesn’t bother to as He doesn’t see it as much of a threat, after all the deal Cas made with the Empty still stands 🤬)
Kevin’s back! I should be happy but apparently he’s been condemned - of course he is. Let’s make him suffer as much as possible😡. No one got done dirtier than this kid. Not Adam, not Charlie, not the Harvelles. Adam had Michael. The Harvelles got each other. Charlie (I hope) found peace. But Kevin died alone, he died young and he never got peace. NEVER.
Are these like super ghosts or something because Rowena just sat back and let them threaten her?
And ghosts can consume each other? Kevin almost became part of…jack the ripper? 🤦🏾‍♀️
God went to see Amara, who’s been chillaxing in Reno with a personal masseuse and is surprised to see her bro. When did they part ways?
Sam apparently did do some damage to God even though the aim was to kill Him. When God touches His wound, Sam feels that. Amara ditches her brother when she realizes the true reason of his visit. She makes it clear she’s done playing by His rules.
Man, she is so dead.
Amara mentioned she was trapped…is God stuck in this one universe cuz of the flesh wound? Oooooooo.
Meanwhile, with some teamwork Rowena & Dean defeat the ghost we’ve been following in these first 2 episodes BUT cuz of what God has unleashed there’s plenty more where they came from. They keep coming.
So this ghost-apocalypse is the last major end of days crap? Little early in the season so I'm sure there will be other shenanigans. But definitely On theme for supernatural. Ghost hunting was their bread and butter once upon a time.
Rowena tells the guys that they’re screwed as it’s only a matter of time before the warding breaks down and millions/billions of ghosts get their tons of flesh from all the unlucky humans lying in wait to be massacred.
Dean’s willing to fight with his 1 shotgun and finite supply of bullets 🤣🤣🤣🤣 like boy sit down.
He calls Chuck a fanboy, like uh Dean that fanboy is the master & creator of the universe. He made you! If anyone gets the last word, it’s Him.
On a positive note, where there’s billions of souls in Hell, there’s trillions in Heaven. So in this universe more people go to Heaven than Hell. That’s nice ☺️
Anyway, dean puts Cas on grunt work - that motherfucker 🤬. He doesn’t even ask, he just orders Cas to go with Belphegor and retrieve the horn/staff/whatever from hell they need, and he knows Cas will go because he has to know right? That Cas is entirely devoted to him (cuz Cas is in lurv-) just cuz you love him Cas doesn’t mean you let dean push you around. Stand up for yourself!
Cas does the Dean thing and projects HIS feelings when speaking to the demon, saying that Sam & Dean are just using Belphegor and they don’t actually like him 😭🥺😓
I’m loving the Cas moments in this episode, he kills some random demon, then has to sing to open a box 🤣 we should’ve seen that whole part 🤣 too bad a new demon baddie is interfering just as Cas gets the box open.
Belphegor reveals his plot 😒, he aims to do what Cas did at the end of season 6 but with Hell’s souls instead of Purgatory. No Leviathans this time I hope.
Lol Rowena & Sam are holding hands lemme stop 🤣
Cas WTF are you waiting for move it! Don’t get trapped in hell!
He stays just long enough to hand Belphegor his own ass, all in Jack’s corpse and the body is smote a 2nd time 😭
Chuck really hates Cas doesn’t he? Just keeps punishing this poor angel man - payback for how many times he’s broken the rules.
Rowena comes up with plan B, by ripping out her resurrection doohickey and declares that she must sacrifice herself to take down all the ghosts running around, throwing herself into hell and trapping the souls with her where they belong. She says she’s not doing this to save the world, only because she knows that Sam is the one who was meant to kill her. I guess she’s tired of waiting for her own demise.
Tumblr media
Rowena, we hardly knew ye…dies to become queen of Hell like her son before her 🤣 well things sorta worked out for her didn’t they? Too bad her son is lost & forgotten to time. And her grandson is in…Heaven? 🤷🏽‍♀️
I think she died the most noble death on the show. She took her fate into her own hands and sacrificed herself for the greater good and…it WASN’T in vain. What she did, actually worked.
Tumblr media
Why you gotta take shit out on sexy baby Cas? You know he feels bad about what happened. And then you're astonished to see him walk away. I feel like that pissed Dean off more. How much tongue lashing is the angel supposed to take dumbass? You can only talk shit to him so much before he decides to walk away like duh.
I don’t think Dean doesn’t care though. He wouldn’t be so upset if he didn’t care. If he truly didn’t care, he’d just straight kill Cas with an angel blade. I think Dean regretted what he said when he said it but was too proud to take it back. Every time I see Cas walk away I hear will you leave me now by Chicago.
Sam is dreaming about becoming the evil Chuck envisioned and killing his brother. We got a flash of that in 15x02 no?
Ugh veggie bacon. I’m sorry its just…ugh. I can’t eat any fake meat. Does things to my throat…anyway.
Dean calls himself the meat man 🤣 ofc he does. He should listen to Sam though, meat man means…other things 😈
Becky’s alive, and finally found that special someone. They have kids together?! But they look too old to be hers (she was single less than 8 years ago?) maybe she’s a stepmom. But I guess it’s a father-children trip so Becky’s left alone and chuck visits her. While she’s still a die hard SPN fan, she’s channeled that energy into making merch and selling it on Etsy. I think in the real world she might get sued but hey yay for her.
Becky still thinks Chuck is just a prophet 😅 I'm glad she regrets what she did to Sam in 7x08. and she’s kept up with her fan-fiction (hopefully she stopped the Wincest smut - #brothersnotlovers)
While the brothers are off solving a monster of the week case, with a bit of a twist (one of the high school kids is a vamp and his parents were trying to help him get away with murder and food by way of his classmates), Chuck tries to get Becky back on the bandwagon like she used to be — I'm glad Becky stood up for herself though. But she also inspires Chuck to start writing again and even though his rough draft left much to be desired (subtle, as much could be said about how the show has been lol, I'm pretty sure folks have said the same things Becky was saying in one form or another), his second draft horrifies Becky
Tumblr media
Makes you wonder what she read? Anything to do with vampires and some rebar??? 🤨
Too bad she and her whole family die though. I say die cuz there’s no way we’re ever gonna see them again.
It just doesn’t pay to be a fan huh…
It’s adorable that think Sam & Dean think they’re ‘free’, that Chuck is gone. Do they really not understand? God is God. He’s not done until He says He’s done. it’s been made clear He’s not done til the brothers kill each other. So on another case, they start to see that (why didn’t you ask about Cas, Sam? Hm?) in the form of 2 brothers - spoiler alert, they’re werewolves. When the story ends in inevitable murder-suicide, the plot twist emerges as the young blonde is revealed to be Lilith incarnate. She’s returned (thanks to Chuck) as a…messenger? She came for the new fancy gun God made for the Winchesters last season. When she fucks them up, Dean convinces her to run off with him in a bullshit lie/surrender tactic to get Lilith away from Sam. When the brothers try to escape, Lilith stops them, correctly assumes the gun is in the glovebox of the Impala & proceeds to destroy the gun right in front of the guys.
Back in the bunker (where’s Cas gone? Sam tried to reach him yet again) the brothers ruminate over how extra shitty their situation is. That gun wasn’t gonna help you.
It would’ve been cool if at this point the brothers realize they can take the fight to God in a new way. Not rebellion specifically and certainly not violence (they have no weapon to kill Him with). God made the Winchesters in his image, as rooting, tooting badass hunters who drink, fight & fuck their way across the continental US of A. So, stop doing that. Stop the drinking (and the eating of bad junk food it’s not good for you and it’s starting to show Dean you’re basically 40 now), stop the meaningless fighting and as for the fucking lol…maybe Sam finds someone to settle down with and Dean dares to explore his sexuality…with a certain angel …who’s totally in love with — wishful thinking though. Right?
So while Sam tries to track God, (HA!) and Lilith, Dean’s hunkered down in his room & eating his feelings 😔 the poor unfortunate soul is just beaten down from all the misfortune since its been made clear there’s no fucking hope.
CAS is back! Yay! And he’s gone…fishing? If only he took Dean with him but that whole situation is fucked…just like Dean’s life 🤣😭 he stumbles his way into a case while renting a place in the town he’s holed up in, and ends up having to call Dean when the sheriff demands to talk to Castiel’s FBI supervisor. Oof. That was rough, but Dean only mentions that Sam was trying to reach out and to check his messages. And he warned cas about Chuck.
How convenient that Rowena wrote down all the magic she’d done. And of course Rowena was working on a spell that could be applied to Eileen instead of motherfucking Kevin, who’s been dead for way fucking longer 🤬🤬🤬
While Eileen & Sam get reacquainted Dean runs off to Texas on a lead for a new case, and he just seems so depressed. It could just be me & the doom and gloom of the final season and all but the smiles don’t match the eyes you know? And Dean bullshits with the best of them. He runs into an old pal who suckers him into some singing but all the reminiscing on old times can’t make the plot twist hurt less. The reason Lee quit hunting is he found a money making monster - all it requires is continuous human sacrifice. So Dean kills the monster and then he kills his old bestie after Lee says his monologue about how pointless the fight is.
While Dean has his Texas adventure Cas returns (with no mention of his latest fallout with Dean - does Sam even know about their spat???) To work on Sam’s wound as he thinks it can help lead them to Chuck. All Cas manages to do is make Sam worse 🤦🏾‍♀️ He has to reach out to former MoL contact Sergei who comes to the bunker after Cas makes a super direct threat on his life. Pretty sure the angel was motivated not to further enrage Dean (if Dean were to discover Cas endangered his precious Sammy’s life) but Sergei makes even worse & tries to bargain for a key to Death’s library? Huh. Wonder if that’ll come in play later…🙄
Cas claps back tho as he expected Sergei to scheme and had Alt-Bobby follow Sergei’s relative (and here I thought he was bullshitting about being with his niece when he took Castiel’s call) so Sergei realizes he’s beat and puts Sam back the way the Moose was. But Sergei’s trick was useful for Sam in 1 regard as the younger Winchester got some insight into Chuck’s recent happenings.
Dean rushes back to his baby bro for an awkward run in with Cas who asserts Sam’s ok (now). I laugh when Sam tells the others they can beat God. Like, He’s omnipresent, He’s probably listening to you right now…do they not realize that?
Meanwhile the big G.O.D. Went to some casino to rig a slot machine to win every single time in the midst of countless corpses, sparing only 1 woman to serve him cocktails while he plays. So…what was the purpose of all this, to show how far God has fallen? Dude, just like have Him decimate a country or something. Sink some islands. Like real end of days shit! Weak…pfft.
Dean brings forth the demon tablet (honestly they fucked up destroying the angel tablet, that one would’ve made more sense) and they make some weak argument that because God made these tablets it was for the intent in case the demons and angels (and Leviathan or are we not gonna bring them up, they were the first ones we got a tablet on) went out of control — and bullshit! Lilith is basically God’s goon at this point as we see her and Michael have a quick chat in some diner where Adam is FINALLY, FINALLY out of the godforsaken Cage. My. Lord. It literally took the boy a decade to be free (sort of, he’s still stuck with Michael but doesn’t seem to hate it so much). Kid’s got a great attitude after the last 10 (human) years he’s had to live through.
The winchesters bring Donatello back to translate the tablet they have and he finds some notes BUT God intercedes, speaking through the prophet like a puppet, proving my exact point - Chuck is constantly watching these dudes whenever the fuck he wants. He just doesn’t take them seriously. It’s like they’re taking the most powerful entity in existence and reducing him to a general Big Bad. Like don’t have God just threaten. Make Him do shit! Shit that makes you jump and scream and go 😱
Anyway - ugh I love how Cas & Dean are still on the outs but when Dean had to bleed for a spell Cas is willing to heal him 🥺 and Dean lets him 🥺
Rowena can see the tension, picks it up right away and merely asserts that Dean & Cas have to fix it, makes sure Sam’s outta earshot too, since she figures Sam is out of the loop (and she figured right!)
Since it’s clear to the guys that Michael got out of the cage (FINALLY!) we get to see Adam eat a burger (he hasn’t lost his love for them I see😂😂 and the good vibe is ruined when Lilith approaches the archangel and he smites her out of existence (thank goodness) then makes the awed humans at the diner forget what they saw. Cas lures Michael into an angel trap (the holy fire circle) and the Winchesters give mike the 411 but Michael turns it around on them and makes the brothers face Adam.
Tumblr media
This kid seriously has the best attitude ever! Like if he wanted to kill them, who would blame him? I sure wouldn’t. But he certainly doesn’t forgive them (so he says). But Michael won’t hear how bad God has become. It’s not until Cas shows him clips from the past couple of years that Michael to accept the reality of the situation.
Not Cas saying Luci was right 🤣
So Michael hands over a spell that may seal God away in a cage and pops open a door to purgatory so Team Destiel can acquire the final ingredient. Yay! But God lured Eileen (and Sam who she brought with him, probably like Chuck wanted) into a trap and takes them back to the casino (why a casino though, honestly?)
Chuck reveals that Eileen is back because of Him as Sam did exactly as God ordained. As if that was a surprise - He ain’t the master & creator of the universe for nothing. He’s about to torture Sam But Eileen tries to sneak call Dean so big bro can know what’s up but Chuck (breaks?) tosses the phone away, ending the call. Dean’s about to run over to Sam like the mama bird he is but Cas stops him.
Tumblr media
Yes, speak up for yourself Cas – tell Dean what it is! I'm loving the tension/drama though 😏
But Chuck does reveal that he can’t see Sam because it was Sam who shot him? He mentioned Sam specifically, so he can only watch Dean? Or is it that wherever Sam is he can’t observe??? Then what was that power play with Donatello about?! (Make it make sense writers)
Sam calls out Chuck for being a BITCH - actually Eileen does and for her trouble Chuck makes her a torture puppet and has her gouge Sam while Chuck gets to watch. So petty.
Chuck then says that there is a chance Team Free Will can defeat Him - so long as Dean & Cas don’t fuck up — they’re screwed. And chuck starts to show sam glimpses of the supposed future.
Hasn’t sam been getting more visions of fratricide throughout this season? Per Chuck, they’re moments from other universes where Sam & Dean succumbed to their fates and fratricidal tendencies.
Sam & Dean become vampires (AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA), Jody & Bobby kill Sam, Dean drains Jody - that suuuuuuucks (hehe, get it?)
Tumblr media
No that seriously sucked.
Not Cas taking on the mark to seal away God! He’d be helping to fulfill the future Sam saw, no!
Oh thank God, Sam, by dropping the ball (orb) you avoided the very grim future for Cas.

15x20 Coda
Can’t believe it’s the year of our Lord 2020 and I’m writing Supernatural fix it fics at 3am.... This truly is the bad place. Anyway here’s what happened immediately after the credits rolled on whatever that was...
“Sam and Dean stood, arms around each other looking out towards the vista. Heaven. Their heaven. United again, after everythi-“
“-Is he for real?”
“That’s what was saved on my computer. Supernatural – Final Draft.”
“This is bullshit.”
Becky shrugged, taking her laptop back from Sam as his face twitched uncomfortably.
“Who did I even marry? Like, it wasn’t even Eileen?”
“I don’t know man but you named your kid after me. I’m holding you to that one.”
“I don’t even want kids. Our lives are crazy. Why would I do that to a kid?”
“Well I’m just glad Chuck didn’t get to go ahead with that one.” Becky said, sitting back down with her laptop, “I mean all of his drafts were honestly terrible but that one… I mean it didn’t even make sense considering your character arcs. Dean literally died like he thought he would at the beginning of the series and Sam, grows old with a random woman and doesn’t do anything with his life and not even mentioning Cas even though he was right there in heaven-“
Becky looked up to find Sam and Dean staring at her.
“I’m sorry, not that you guys are just characters or anything. But just, when I came back and I found that I was really worried you’d actually died in barn because you fell on a nail.”
“Yeah well I will be avoiding all barns from now on.”
Thunk. The three of them looked up to where Cas had knocked over a Funko Pop Sam.
“Sorry,” Cas readjusted Funko Sam so he could go back to back to fighting Funko Crowley.
There was an awkward moment of silence as the group processed the revelation of Chuck’s ending. Becky sipped her tea as Cas sat back down next to Dean. Dean looked over to him, their eyes met briefly and they shared a small smile.
“Did I never even ask about Cas?” Sam shook his head breaking the silence. “Like, you come back from fighting Billie and say he’s dead and I just… never question it?”
“Well, none of you seemed very upset about my death in that story.” He turned back to Dean, “You were far more concerned with the pie and the dog.”
“To be fair that was probably the only thing that felt right there – pie is more important.”
Cas rolled his eyes and picked up another biscuit from the tray Becky had brought them. Ever since becoming human again he’d picked up a real sweet tooth. Dean was silently waiting for when Sam would start having a go at him too about healthy diets.
Like hell I’m going because of a rusty nail in a barn, Dean thought, I’m getting killed by a heart attack and Cas’s gonna die of diabetes. Sammy’ll still get to outlive us both though.
“It’d be nice to think Jack is doing that with heaven though.” Sam said, “You know, rebuilding things, making it actually good.”
“I guess we’ll have to see when we get there. Which will not be soon, we fought for a bit of peace and I’m intending to actually enjoy mine.”
“We can just ask him next time he’s home.” Cas added.
Dean shook his head stifling a laugh with his hand, “Can you imagine if we’d made him God I mean- He’s three for crying out loud. He made me buy him a Marvellous Marvin the Talking Teddy three months ago.”
“You bought him that?”
“Wait so Jack didn’t become God?”
“God no, no he’s not God.” Dean plucked the biscuit Cas had just picked up out of his hand and started to eat it, “I mean he is up in heaven, but he’s just helping Michael get things running again with all the angels back from the Empty.”
“I’m confused, so you didn’t kill Chuck?”
“Noash fukind matr-“
“Chuck’s gone, but he’s not dead.” Sam interrupted the garbled explanation Dean was trying to make through a mouthful of cookie. “We found a way to umm- bind him I guess? In his own mind so he didn’t even know it was happening. Rowena and I did the spell and Dean set the trap.”
“I was still as useless as in Chuck’s version.” Cas clarified taking another biscuit to make up for his stolen one.
“Hey, if you hadn’t saved me from Billie we’d all have been toast. You were key.”
“Wait so Chuck’s not human and he’s not dead?”
“No- God I can’t believe he made himself human. I can’t believe we made him human and then said that was a punishment – sorry, no he’s kind of in a uhhh…”
“Alternate universe.” Sam added, “but one just for him. It’s more like an alternative plane of reality inside his own mind where he can write whatever stories he wants and think they’re real but they’re not. They can’t hurt anyone.”
“But he’s God so…. They might be real? He could be making them real.”
Sam twisted his mouth thinking, it was something he’d considered but didn’t want to dwell on.
“Well it’s not us.” Dean declared, “And honestly, if he makes another world with other Sams and Deans and Cas’s and Jacks then they’ll defeat him some other way. Like Inception, but with God!” He grinned at his reference even as the rest of the room ignored him.
Becky leant back in her armchair letting out a sigh of relief. “I’m glad you guys are ok. You too Cas, he was really adamant about killing you off.”
“Dean was very adamant about bringing me back.” Cas looked over to Dean, a soft smile and look of adoration of his face.
Dean blushed, trying to cover it up with a cough. “Yeah well, I had some stuff to say.”
Becky grinned, taking a sip of her tea as Sam suddenly started to find the wallpaper very interesting.
“So, what are you guys going to do know?” Becky asked after the moment had become sufficiently awkward. “I mean no Chuck, no apocalypse, no world to save. Are you going to keep hunting, or…?”
Sam, Dean and Cas looked at each other.
“I don’t know,” Sam said.
“Honestly, I’m thinking Chuck had it right with the pie festival.”
Becky and Sam laughed at that.
Cas took another biscuit
***
Dean closed the boot of the Impala with a soft thud. Becky had given each of them one of her dioramas she sold on Etsy. It was always a bit weird being reminded that their life was a story that some people liked to collect stuff from for fun but he had to admit the miniature scale replica of Baby she’d given him was awesome.
Sam stood at the door giving Becky a hug and thanking her for the lunch. She hadn’t quite explained to the rest of the family who these three strange large men were that were randomly joining them for lunch beyond “They’re just some Supernatural fans I know from the internet.” Her husband had spent the entire time struggling to believe that lie even moreso after Cas had slightly traumatised one of the kids with an in-depth description of the dangers of invasive wasps to honey bee colonies.
Dean wandered over to where Cas stood beside Sam and Becky.
“Thanks again for checking on us Becky.” Dean said, accepting the hug she gave him.
“Of course, I always knew you’d beat him but it’s good to know for sure.”
“Sure is.” Dean took a step back, “Well I guess we’ll be seeing you?”
“Next Supernatural convention?”
“Absolutely not.”
“Even if there’s a ghost?”
“You do know we’re not the only hunters in America.”
Becky bit her lip.
“What?”
“Nothing,” she paused, “it’s just, this is exactly how I would have written it.”
Sam raised his eyebrows in surprise, Dean brows knitted as Cas tilted his head.
“I don’t- not that you had to go through all that. Just that now you can actually take a break. Be normal, do your laundry-“
“-Sam and Dean have always done their laundry. That’s how they clean their clothes.” Cas piped up in confusion.
“-Be happy. Get to actually enjoy living in the world you saved. Have free will and be at peace.”
Dean chuckled, “I mean I’m personally good with never doing my laundry. But you’re right, it’s weird but good.”
“We’ll stay in touch Becky.” Sam said.
“I’ll hold you to that.”
They waved their goodbyes and walked back over to the Impala. Dean got in behind the wheel, Sam in shotgun and Cas in the back.
Turning the key the Impala revved to life. The radio began to sing, the opening chords to Kansas’s Carry on Wayward Song filling the car.
Dean slammed the radio off.
“God, I think Chuck has forever ruined that song for me.”
Sam laughed, in the back Cas even let out a chuckle as he leant his head against the window ready for the long drive home.
It wasn’t their heaven. Not yet anyway. And that made it so much more.

This Destiel/finale fix-it ficlet I wrote...
This is my first attempt at writing fic so be gentle haha but I had a dream close to this and kinda tweaked it from there but it’s basically a finale fix-it in which I’ve decided Dean’s still alive. He lost consciousness a few sentences into his speech and imagined the rest, which is what we saw. There’s just too much about “heaven” that has been used before as a façade. So here goes…
“Okay. P-Please. I'm fading pretty quick, so...there's a few things that I-...” before he can even start the next words Dean’s head lolls to the side and his eyes fall closed.
Sam feels like everything is moving in slow motion as the nightmare of losing his brother plays out in front of his eyes.
“Dean??”
Sam holds Dean in place the best he can and his dread drains away slightly as he hears Dean’s shallow breaths despite his sudden loss of consciousness.
Sam's thoughts start racing, time-induced panic ticking away. Nothing they haven’t dealt with before but this isn’t Chuck’s tale of heroes anymore. It’s just them now.
"Shit, shit, shit...the nearest hospital is still too far...I can't...there's too many bodies to even try to explain...I can't even let Dean go to hide them...shit. Shit...Jack!"
"Hang on, Dean. Just hang on as long as you can. I'll fix this."
Sam prays loudly into the empty barn, "Jack?? Jack, I know you can see this, I hope you can do something, please. It can't end like this. It wasn't supposed to end like this. Not after everything we've been through, everything Dean's survived, he doesn't deserve this. You know he doesn't. Please, Jack. He's not gone yet, he can still be saved. I'm not asking for resurrection here, just...just heal him, please, he deserves to be saved."
As if on cue, the barn roof starts to rattle, a few bulbs burst overhead and Cas walks through the barn doors, rushing to their side while Sam's eyes widen in shock.
"Cas?!? but...", Sam stammers out with only a little bit of shock and a lot more relief.
Cas darts his eyes straight at him and it feels like he's looking straight at his soul.
"Sam, I need you to hold him steady, I'll start healing, but I need you to slowly pull him forward as I heal, alright?... Sam?!...Ok?!"
"Yeah...Yes...Ok, I'm ready.", Sam’s words stumble out as he refocuses onto Dean's weight in his arms.
The familiar golden glow pours from Cas steadier than it did the last time Sam watched him heal Dean's hand. So easily that Sam is holding all of Dean's weight mere seconds later. Cas helps him lay Dean down. Dean's breathing has evened out, but his face is still clammy and pale.
Cas holds Dean's head in his lap for a few moments, as he pulls off his trench coat and folds it up as a makeshift pillow, easing his head onto it. The care and intimacy of the moment, it feels like Sam needs to look away, but then Cas stands and looks up at the relief and tears on Sam's face.
"He'll be alright, Sam. He lost a fair amount of blood so he just nee-".
Sam practically slams his entire body into Cas as he crushes him into a hug, "Cas, I can't believe you're here. Of course, you're here. You saved him. You always save him. Thank you, Cas. I didn't know what to do. Jack said he'd be hands-off but it's Dean."
"Of course. Jack sent me as soon as he heard you. We’re lucky we made it in time.", Cas looks around at the lifeless bodies and their lost heads strewn about, "I'll help you clean this up but first, I'll get those boys home."
As Sam piles up the bodies a familiar but long since heard sound of wings flutter near Dean and Cas is back. He's looking down at Dean with such adoration but with his matter-of-fact tone states, "They're back with their mother, who was thankful to you both...and to have her tongue healed back. I took the liberty of altering their memories. They shouldn't have to live with that trauma." His eyes still lost to watching Dean’s chest rise and fall.
"You got your wings back," Sam says without realizing he thought it aloud.
Cas smiles coyly and looks back at Sam, visibly spreading them out, while Sam watches in awe as their shadows encompass the barn behind him. "Along with a few other powers I've missed now that Jack has restored heaven to what it should be."
Sam sighs, "Yeah, about that..."
While cleaning up the barn, Sam and Cas catch each other up on what happened since they last saw each other. Sam talks about defeating Chuck, Jack bringing everyone back, and how mundane the past months of freedom have been. Cas tells Sam how Jack rescued him from the Empty as well as other angels like Michael (with Adam), Gabriel, Hannah, Samandriel, and Balthazar to name a few.
Sam throws his lighter into the pile of vamps and looks over at Cas, "It's great to have you back, Cas. Dean didn't...well more like couldn't I guess. He couldn't talk about you much after... all he told us was you made a deal and you summoned the Empty to save him from Billie...but after that, he could barely say your name. Didn't stop him from asking Chuck to bring you back", he says with a small smirk, then presses his lips together and sighs, "but it was like a part of him had shut down or just broke. He wouldn't tell me and if you don't want to, I won't push it but you're my best friend, Cas and I...I still don’t know...Can you tell me what happened?"
Cas looks into Sam's puppy dog eyes, now glistening either from the fire or the topic, and then over at Dean still peacefully asleep a few feet away. He reaches out his grace and maybe Dean's soul recognizes it because he is sleeping soundly as if he hasn't in months. Cas guesses that's probably true. Contemplating how much of the story is his to tell and how much Dean would allow him to say since Sam and Cas both know it's not that he won't, he can't.
Cas reaches out and squeezes Sam's shoulder. "I'm sorry for any pain I caused you, I didn't have a choice. I knew it was the only way to beat Chuck. That only you and Dean could find a way. I made the deal to save Jack when he was dying, the Shadow agreed to take me instead but not until I had experienced true happiness. With Chuck in charge, any happiness seemed impossible, but I thought proving to Dean that he is worth saving, that all he's ever done was driven by love, not anger, prove to him why I love him." His voice betrays him by cracking on the last words. Still new to his mouth and his ears.
Cas searches Sam's face for any sort of shock or surprise but finds none. Instead, there’s a kind understanding that only Sam would have.
Sam sighs and says, "That's why." he continues as Cas' head tilts, "When we faced Chuck, he called Dean the ultimate killer but Dean just walked past him, no anger or malice, and just said 'that's not who I am'. It was because of you. He must have finally started to see himself the way you see him. How we all see him."
Cas brightens at that, looking back over at Dean, "Then it worked. The only thing I ever wanted was for Dean to love himself. I didn't ever think I'd be enough. That how I feel about him was enough after everything...after every time I tried to prove it. It was never enough before."
Sam smiles warmly, "You were enough, Cas. I've been trying almost our whole lives to get Dean to believe he wasn't a killer, that his life was worth more. I think we all tried, but you got through to him. He tried so hard after you...he tried but I could tell he was forcing it. Tonight, before you got here, it sounded like he'd given up. It sounded like the last time we lost you.” Sam shakes his head, trying to push away the image of Dean plunging a syringe into his heart, “Cas…every time we lost you it's been hard. For me too, but for Dean... it's different, each time it was different. He’d close himself off. He’d lose all faith. He’d give up. He’d want to die. I think...I think that he loves you more than he lets on. He's better when you're back. He's only happy when you're back."
Cas looks back over at Sam, a trace of a smile, "I know. I always felt it, just... well", he huffs, "We both know he's not one for words. But I know how he feels. I think his fear was more so in having something to lose. We’ve lost each other too many times."
The fire is dying down with the bodies not quite recognizable. Sam collects their gear into Baby's trunk. Cas walks out of the barn carrying Dean as if he's as light as a feather. Sam offers to drive Baby back to the bunker if Cas wants to fly Dean back instead. Cas nods and another flutter of wings echoes in the space left behind. Sam climbs into Baby, places his hands tightly on the wheel, closes his eyes, and prays to Jack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few hours later, Dean wakes up. He slowly realizes he's back in the bunker, he's in his room, there's no pain in his back, and his hand is being held. He looks over to meet gleaming blue eyes he thought he’d never see again and can barely get anything out. “Cas... but how... you...?” and just pulls him into an awkwardly angled hug but holds on so tightly. It's just them. He doesn't have a time limit.
Dean feels as Cas inhales to explain but Dean cuts him off with “It doesn’t matter how. Is this real? Are you really back? For good."
Cas smiles as if his true happiness reaches a new level and simply says, “Hello, Dean." tightening his embrace, "Yes, Jack brought me back-- new and improved”.
Dean holds him and breathes in that familiar ozone smell, feels the pulse of grace within him stronger than before, something only he seems to be able to feel. "I thought I lost you forever. I thought you...wait," he pulls back to look at Cas again, "Didn't I die? I was in heaven, but it felt...wrong, you were there but you didn't come to see me, Bobby was there but he didn't even hug me after... what? 8 years?! No one else showed up. I just drove to a bridge…Tell me you didn't make a deal or -" his face freezes and his entire body goes tense, "Where's Sam?"
"No, you didn't die. Sam prayed to Jack and I came straight to you. You're healed but the blood loss left you pretty lethargic; though, I think that was your own exhaustion. Sam’s fine, he took the Impala. Should be here soon. You’re safe, it was just a dream. Those boys are back with their mother. I healed her. Altered their memories. Everyone's safe now. Sam told me everything that happened since...I...," a brief sadness flashes in his eyes before he brightens and smiles at Dean, "I knew you would save the world."
“I’ve been trying to find a way into the Empty for months, Cas. I…I read everything I could find but there was barely anything. I tried to use your blood from the sigil to summon you like what Nick tried to do but I guess I didn’t get the ingredients right or I don’t know…nothing worked. Jack never answered any of my prayers but I kept asking him to bring you back. I tried--…”
“Dean.” The tone over that one syllable calmed Dean the same way only Cas has always managed to be able to do.
Cas continued, “I’m back. Jack only recently was able to get me back but he heard your prayers. It took a lot of time and bargaining to get me and as many angels as we could save back out. The Shadow’s asleep again. I’m back and I’m not going anywhere. This is my home. I’m home.”
Dean sits processing this. Shaking off the fake heaven and submerging himself in Cas being alive and here. Now. In his grasp. He doesn't know how he gets to have a second...or seventh? chance but all that matters is everyone he loves, everyone he cares about is safe.
Dean meets Cas’s eyes and stares into the bright, deep blue he's fallen in love with so many times, eyes that have seen every part of who he is, good and bad, and says, “I love you too, Cas.”
Cas smiles very much like he did before the Empty was summoned but without tears because the one thing he wants is right in front of him. Looking at him like he is the most important being in every possible alternate universe. Still so beautiful.
Dean's eyes drift to Cas's lips as they have many times before, asking the same question Cas has yet to answer. Cas places a hand behind the base of Dean's neck, his fingers warm and strong as they pull Dean closer. Finally, their lips come together and it feels like no other kiss either of them has ever had. It feels like swirling grace entangling into his soul; it feels like being healed. It feels like every jagged piece of each other is clicking into place, completing and filling what was empty and longing before. It feels like being saved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sam parks in the garage and leaves everything as-is to deal with later. He heads down the hallway to check on Dean when suddenly the overhead lights flicker but before he can run for iron or salt, the bulbs burst. First the one over Dean's door, then a few more heading his direction, then nothing. Sam relaxes and sighs deeply, “Finally!”

15x19: Inherit the Earth
We’re down to the end, and guys, I’m not ready. :(
Then:
Tumblr media
THEY’RE IN LOVE
Now:
The world is empty.
Tumblr media
Sam and Jack wander the empty streets. Dean pulls up in the Impala (still wearing his jacket with Cas’s bloody handprint. BRB CRYING.) Everyone’s gone. Dean tells the others that it’s Chuck that did this. Jack asks the IMPORTANT question: “Where’s Cas?” Dean looks down and hesitates, but eventually says, “He saved me.” He tells them the cliff’s notes version of what happened while shoving down A MILLION feelings of regret and loss and I want to hug him. “Cas is gone,” he finishes, and hahahahahahahahah NOPE. Sam, in disbelief, calls his side-ship Jody. No answer.
Tumblr media
They head to an empty sports bar (AND WHAT I WOULD DO TO GO TO A BAR WITH FRIES AND TVs AND BEER RIGHT NOW). Jack stays outside and prays to Cas. He gets nothing and starts walking. All the flowers start to wilt as he passes them. WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Sam blames himself and is done. They decide to meet with Chuck.
Tumblr media
They tell him that they’ll play his little game. They’ll kill each other. Dean demands that they put everything back to normal first, though. “The people, the birds, Cas.” All of it. (WEEPING.)
Dean, DEAN, Cas doesn’t want to be in a world where you don’t exist.
Yeah, Chuck doesn’t care. He’s really into the brothers' suffering alone story. “That’s deep, that’s sophisticated, that’s a page turner.” Oh, Chuck, you dumb bastard.
Cut to the bunker where they’re all suffering on their own. Jack wallows in his room. Sam wanders the halls, and Dean lays passed out on a bottle of liquor in the library. Sam finds Dean in the library, and Jack soon joins them to tell them that he’s sensing another presence in the world.
Tumblr media
They head to a gas station. Dean heads for the bathroom, and hears a whimpering. IT’S A DOG. And Dean’s so happy to have found him. He names the dog Miracle.
Tumblr media
Dean brings the dog out to show Sam. He tells him that Miracle is coming home with them. I AM DYING. Sam is shocked. Dean tells him not to worry because he’ll only let him ride shotgun if Sam is cool with it. Lol.
Of course, all good things must end. And Miracle dusts like everything else in existence. Dean looks around and sees Chuck giving him a smarmy salute. F U C K  O F F,  C H U C K. Dean doesn’t even like dogs, so there. (The patented Robert Singer ZOOM tells me that Dean does indeed care about dogs.)
(Sidenote: The dog is Cas, right? Dean’s beyond happy to see it. And is ready to let it sit shotgun, but only if Sam’s okay with it. And he’s REALLY upset that they can’t “save a dog”. Just thinking thoughts.)
They head to a church.
Tumblr media
Once they’re in the church of very dangerously burning candles, they’re greeted by Michael.
Michael tells them that he’s been chilling here to avoid Chuck’s notice. Adam is gone. (RIP Winchester brother that never got a chance.) Michael monologs a bit about humans and stuff. Dean recognizes a little soldier when he sees one. Michael wants to help though.
Back at the bunker, Sam shows him Death’s book on God. Michael tries opening the book with no luck. (Sidenote: The DRAMA of the lights being lower is killing me.)
*Dean is In Love Alert*
The brothers take a moment alone in the dark kitchen.
Tumblr media
Dean gets a call.
Tumblr media
Dean takes the call and because he’s a precious bean that actually believes what he’s hearing. Cas is at the bunker. He’s outside. He’s hurt.
Dean takes off like a rocket AND I’M DYING. BBY BOY. NO.
It’s not Cas. It’s Lucifer.
UGH.
(DOUBLE UGH.)
(INFINITY UGH.)
Yeah, Lucifer totally sees what’s between Dean and Cas and gains access to the bunker because of that. Coolcoolcoolcoolcool.
He tells the brothers that the Empty kicked him out to finish Chuck. He brought a reaper to prove to the brothers that he’s good people (NOT.)
Betty is bound and gagged. (Because WHY NOT DO THAT TO A WOMAN, Buckleming.) Lucifer then kills her. (Because WHY NOT DO THAT TO A WOMAN, Buckleming.)
Betty is the new Death!
(Sorrynotsorry for the lack of pictures. I think we all know why.)
She asks for the book. If they give it to her, she can read it.
They set her up in the dungeon reading room, and she doesn’t need helpers.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Lucifer is playing cards and there’s ZERO interaction with Jack and him. AND I AM LIVING. Like, it’s 100% clear that Jack isn’t his son and he does not see him as a father. Jack’s father is dead. AND I AM LIVING. (But also sad because Cas is dead.)
Lucifer does interact with Michael though. Michael does not trust his brother.
Tumblr media
Betty pops up with the book and the end of God. Lucifer ashes her with a snap of his fingers.
(HOW?!>!>?)
Wherps, he grabs the book from her and reveals his hand. He’s working with Chuck.
Lucifer and MIchael battle it out. Jack watches. Lucifer tries to convince Jack to join the losing team.
Michael stabs Lucifer with an archangel blade. Mercifully, there are no haughty speeches or further peacocking between these two. Lucifer sparks out, gone at last. GOOD RIDDANCE.
Later, Dean has a heart to heart with Michael in the kitchen. Michael’s reeling that Chuck brought Lucifer back from the dead instead of seeking him out. But he’s definitely NOT BITTER, NOPE.
Tumblr media
Dean reveals that Chuck’s book is open and full of mysterious Enochian symbols. Sam’s going to translate those, and figure out how Chuck dies, so they can start knocking down some dominoes!
In the library later, Sam reveals that he’s uncovered a spell to stop Chuck. (Jack was researching nephilim on the computer! Jack bby) When complete, the spell will unleash an “unstoppable force” against Chuck. They head out to a special location, light the spell, and it sends three bright beams of power into the sky.
Tumblr media
But the spell explodes. They look up to find Chuck standing there. Chuck...chucks the Winchesters and Jack away. He thanks Michael for tipping him off. “It’s always been my destiny to serve you,” Michael tells him. But that’s not enough for Chuck to forgive him for siding with the Winchesters even once. Chuck fractures Michael into light. The last archangel bites the dust.
Tumblr media
He turns his attention to the Winchesters. It’s time to finish them. He’s canceling the show. At the last minute, he decides it’ll be more fun to beat them to death instead of snapping them out of existence. It’s……..YIKES PRETTY BRUTAL TO WATCH. “Just stay down,” he counsels them - practically begs them. But they won’t stop. Broken and bleeding, they hold each other up against him.
Sam laughs at Chuck’s confusion. “You lose,” he tells him. Behind Chuck, the camera pans to Jack.
Tumblr media
Chuck tries to snap Jack dead but his snapper isn’t working.
Tumblr media
Jack lays his hands on Chuck and golden power streams from Chuck into Jack. Jack snaps his fingers once, and the Winchesters are healed. As they say in the industry...suck it, Chuck.
Sam drops Death’s book in front of Chuck, but the pages are blank. Only Death can even SEE anything in the book (making the whole “can’t open book covers” thing into nothing but a drama llama move). The Winchesters came up with a plan B and spout this in a quick exposition dump.
Michael was jealous of Lucifer being “chosen” by Chuck
They made up the story of a spell, so Michael would tell Chuck
Jack’s “bomb” quest turned him into a power vacuum - thus the dying plants
When Michael and Lucifer fought in the bunker, the power exchange charged Jack back to full nephilim strength
Chuck killing Michael and beating on the Winchesters allowed Jack to absorb god-power
“This is why you’re my favorites,” Chuck gasps. He doesn’t know what happens next, but he’s ready to die “at the hands of Sam Winchester. Of Dean Winchester, the ultimate killer.”
And. Babies. Sweeties. I know that there are lots of people who have problems with this episode but THIS! THIS. This next line makes it all worth it. Because Dean tells him, “See, that’s not who I am. That’s not who we are.” He took how Castiel sees him and he planted that damn seed in his own heart and watered it even in the depths of despair and now it’s so mighty a force that he just walks away from their lifelong tormentor. GUYS. I LOVE IT. I’m so emotional right now.
Jack confirms that Chuck won’t get his powers back. “It’s not his power anymore.” And AGAIN I am emotional thinking about fanfiction and fanart and giving this show to us when it’s all done. Ahem. Anyway. Chuck’s gonna grow old and die and be forgotten like every single human. (Ooookay that got a little dark, but I’ll allow it. This is a “to the pain” speech, after all.)
Tumblr media
Chuck begs for them not to leave him, reduced to sniveling panic in the Impala’s dust cloud.
The Winchesters head back to a small, empty town. Jack closes his eyes in the sunshine as “Get Together” by the Youngbloods croons across the scenes. People return to the world and it’s gentle and beautiful - everyone returning to their day-to-day. “Come on people now, smile on your brother!” the song implores.
Love is but a song to sing Fear's the way we die You can make the mountains ring Or make the angels cry Though the bird is on the wing And you may not know why
Come on people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another Right now
And look. I know this is just a song, and this is just a show. But this is my hope for this show and these characters - steeped in darkness for so long. And this is my hope for our actual real world too. It’s hard for me to separate the two so YES I’M CRYING AS I TYPE THIS. May this song lead us into the next episode and destroy me in a fountain of hopeful light.
Tumblr media
Erm. anyway. Miracle the dog runs into the scene! It IS a damn miracle! Dean and Sam are so proud of Jack! Jack confirms that Amara is with him and they’re in harmony. I’m so happy that Amara got a happy peaceful forever after with her nougat nephilim grand-nephew. Dean assumes that Jack’s coming back to the bunker with them. He’s top dog, “he can do whatever he wants now.” (And readers, I like that Dean says whatever “he wants” and not whatever the Winchesters want. I think it shows personal growth!)
Jack declines. He’s already home - he’s everywhere and everything. “I’ll be in every drop of falling rain. In every speck of dust that the wind blows. And in the sand, the rocks, and the sea.” Jack doesn’t want to lead people, or be prayed or sacrificed to. He wants to let them discover the truth in their own hearts, in their own time. “Chuck put himself in the story. That was his mistake. But I learned from you and my mother and Castiel that when people have to be their best - they can be. And that’s what to believe in.” I have to say, I was fervently against Jack-as-God until it happened. But just like everything to do with Jack, once it happens I just go...okay, cool. I’m on board!
Tumblr media
In the bunker, Dean and Sam drink beer and comment on the quiet. “To everyone that we lost along the way,” Dean toasts. Sam realizes that they can write their own story now. “Just us,” he says (and it sounds like a bleak echo in the empty bunker). Behind them, the table has SW, DW, MW, Jack, and Castiel engraved and...MY HEART.
The Winchesters leave to go find out what freedom feels like and we get a montage of past scenes from the show, and characters we loved or loved to hate. Jackson Browne’s “Running on Empty” plays us off in sweet, mournful nostalgia.
Tumblr media
The Winchesters drive into a sepia-tinged world. This episode is like my Thanksgiving plate mid-meal - all mashed together for faster plot consumption. But on a rewatch, there’s a lot to like too! It’s a goodbye to one story...
Tumblr media
And we leave nostalgia behind. It’s time for them to figure out their own story and I AM SO EXCITED to see what happens next! (Lays some nougat candy bars on my altar for Andrew Dabb for one last vigil.)
Tumblr media
WHERE’S THE QUOTES?
Where’s Cas?
Who’ve thought finding a dog would feel like a miracle? C’mon, Miracle!
What’s an ending?
Eternal suffering sounds good on paper, but as a viewing experience it’s just kinda...meh

Look at me.
Destiel feelings!
Destiel meta. TFW meta. Meta spec. 15x17 meta.
Hello my friends! Tonight's episode had been a real roll coaster, i will try to convey here is just one analysis all the thoughts and feelings I had while watching it, put the clown mask on.
The purge, the purity
The idea of resetting the world, to come back at the beginning, to put everything where it's belong, as an image of PURGE or Purity, or trying to rewrite history, is on the air since season 14 with the apparition of Michael!Dean and his idea of purity.
The orchid in Amara's hands means purity, just like the ring AUMichael carried, or the picture in Amara's room in episode 15x03: Vishnu. As I told you in my meta here, she was linked with this goddess, the hindi goddess Vishnu, who has orchids in her image.
So the idea of purge the world, is the idea of Chuck of the end. But is not gonna happen.
Jack is like Cas, Sam and Dean. But mostly, like Dean.
Jack is the representation of unity. He conveys in his own self light and darkness, Heaven, Humanity and Hell, but he also is DEAN, SAM AND CAS in one.
The writers had shown in previous episodes how Jack mirrored each one's mannerisms.
But Jack will always look at Dean to take decisions. Because Castiel considers Dean his role model. So, when Jack says to Dean: I'm like you, for the second time, he said it in episode 14x07 before dying, just like now, driving baby, remember? Dean's dad mode came back again, BUT, Dean understands is the only way: SELF SACRIFICE PATH had always been the way Dean Winchester sees the solution. Not this time.
Lie to manipulate: Billie and Chuck
The same manipulative speech we heard from Billie to TFW and now the Empty, it was like hearing Chuck talking, and this time, God used that speech again to convince his sister to be one with him.
Remember when I said I didn't like hearing Billie talking like that? And that she gave me goosebumps? Okay, I think I was right, because she's the other Villain.
Destiel mirror
Adam, the first man, a representation of HUMANITY dressed in green, was lovey dovey with Seraphine, an ang dressed in pink and blue (happiness and Cas).
Is this maybe the last Destiel mirror we will see?
It proves they went against Heaven's rules, just like Cas, but they went way forther than that. The kissing and intimacy they showed shamelessly in front of Dean and Jack, was just because the freedom from an angel choosing to be romantically involved with a human, breaking the Sacred Oath, is possible. So Dean was watching that with round eyes. I know he was learning it wasn't impossible to have that kind of intimacy with an angel.
The chalice and the Sacrifice
When Sam and Cas were searching for the key to open Billie's library, both of them touched the chalice. The chalice is a representation of sacrifice, the last dinner, in which Jesus ate with his apostles for last time. It carries the blood of Christ that saved humanity. So, my meta spec brain went, okay, Cas is gonna "die" or Sacrifice himself in episode 15x18, but Sam?
And then I recalled my other spec about DEAN REMAINING ALONE at some point in the show, remember how many times I repeated this in season 14? So... Then is Sam gonna die again? And then Dean saving us all with that thing about the reset button? A second chance against Chuck? Let's see.
Gif set credit @supernaturaldaily 👇
The angel with a crack in his chassis, and the one who gripped Dean tight and raised him from perdition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why did Chuck say this? Just like Michael, who mocked Cas and Dean, and just like everyone who mocked Cas and Dean's relationship, Chuck did it too.
Chuck hates Castiel because he can't write his steps, the angel that never obey or never follow the script. He showed us that with these words too.
Chuck KNOWS about their love that transcends it all. And like Amara and Dean, he didn't write about it. Because they're real.
But, but, but IS IMPORTANT. Is another call back to DEAN AND CAS PROFOUND BOND.
Is a reminder of their lace. Is gonna be very important at the end of it. Is gonna be pivotal to save Castiel. Dean will find him again. But this time they will be like one.
Because when Chuck was convincing Amara to be one with him, he promised her balance, but mostly, PEACE AND HAPPINESS FOR THE ETERNITY. BE ONE.
Is the same Amara wanted with Dean, but but, is also another clue for my Destiel End Game spec: SHARING VESSEL.
Destiel Looks
Everytime Sam said something very meaningful tryng to convince Dean to not follow Billie's orders, the scene was mixed with the manipulative speech from Chuck to Amara, to show us the difference between TRUTH and LIES. But also, to show us how Dean looked at Cas and Cas looked at Dean.
When Sam mentioned EILEEN IS GONNA DIE AGAIN. Dean watched his angel. He doesn't want that to happen again, because he would be a dead too with him.
Then Sam says, will you trade me? And Dean looks at Cas again.
Your whole life you protected me: Here, Sam is calling out The Big Protector, is time to Dean to relay on other, to trust in Sam, in Cas. He needs to abbandon that weight on his shoulder of always being the one sacrificing, or giving his life, or protecting everyone. The Big Protector idea, built by his father in Dean's mind, needs to go and die. They're a family, they're all heros.
WhenDean said JACK IS NOT FAMILY, it was his way to mentally avoid the fact they're gonna lose their child again. He needed to put Jack in that position, in the NOT FAMILY place, because it hurts too much for him, and for everyone, to lose the kid.
But truth can't be avoided. Dean can't avoid the fact Jack is family, he can't avoid the fact Sam is a grown up man who can come out with the perfect plan, a second chance, a second way to do things, he can't avoid the fact HE IS IN LOVE WITH CASTIEL. Just like Dean is facing each spot in his mind, letting the truth to enlight them, he will face the fact HE LOVES HIS ANGEL. And then, we will have our so waited I LOVE YOU, in the precise time he will need to say it to save him.
To Conclude:
This episode showed us Billie is the other Villain, so, they need to find another way.
Destiel is coming, next episode we are gonna die, but then we will relive when Dean and Cas find each other again, in one vessel, to share their lives for eternity.
And if this doesn't happen, then I will write a fic to all of you.
Love you! See you soon!

Series 15 gives all of the characters you could ever care about their worst possible endings, but presents these endings as somehow good or satisfying or acceptable.  Here's a list.
The short version: they're Chuck's endings, and Chuck is a bad writer.
None of the characters can escape the fate set out for them or break the cycle of trauma begun by Chuck.  The show itself doesn't even realise how truly awful these endings are - it dresses up a tragedy in pie gags and pretty colours and calls it a happy ending.  And in order to inflict these worst possible endings on its characters, the narrative has to be twisted and contorted in the most absurd of ways.
So, onto the list:
Adam: Forgotten and left to languish in the pit, he's finally freed, only to suffer an anticlimactic offscreen death and be forgotten again.  Michael, his only companion for so long, is also killed off.  In the finale, blood family seems to be all that matters - and yet he isn't mentioned.
Alternate Kaia: She helps rescue Kaia from the Bad Place, but chooses to remain there to face certain destruction rather than return to earth with Kaia, Dean and Sam.  This world is so hostile to her that death is preferable.  Her horrible, pointless death stands as a powerful statement about the real harm caused by exclusion, but the text doesn't seem to acknowledge the full horror of this.  Her death isn't remarked upon; it seems to suggest that both Kaia and her double are returned to their rightful places.  It's just one example of the show creating awful endings without seeming to understand how awful they truly are.  (I rant a lot more about Alternate Kaia here.)
Amara: After being betrayed and locked away for millennia, we see Amara's initial impulse for revenge and destruction transform into an admiration for creation.  She becomes an advocate for humanity and the world.  And yet she ends up being betrayed (by both the Winchesters and Chuck) and locked away again.  She's absorbed by Chuck in a way that doesn't fit within the logic of the show.  Chuck and Amara are equals - it doesn't make any sense that Chuck could overpower her.  Wouldn't they become a blend of the two of them?  And, since their separation caused the Big Bang, wouldn't their unity end the world?  Anyway, having the cosmic feminine be voiceless and invisible is the worst way for Amara's story to end.  Having Jack speak for her, saying that they are 'in harmony' tries to make this an acceptable fate for her, but only makes it worse.
Benny:  Another offscreen death, and this one feels particularly spiteful.  It really seems like he was killed just to be a conversation-starter for Cas and Dean.  However, if his fate can be sealed by a line of dialogue, then it only proves that confirmation of the fates of Eileen, AU Charlie and the other hunters could have been given in the same way.  Just one line could have done it - "I just spoke to Eileen, everyone's back."  Instead, at the end of 15.19 we're in the absurd position of having Sam and Dean toast the people they've lost without them even bothering to check who that may or not be.
Billie: The bizarre thing about Billie being revealed as a villain at the end of Season 15 was that she was supposed to be acting in self-interest - that she wanted to be the new God.  It made no sense.  What would make sense to me, though, would be if Chuck was controlling her (as Lucifer bound Death in Season 5).  Season 15 has strong echoes of Season 4 - and Billie took on both the role of Ruby (feeding Jack hearts rather than demon blood, but nevertheless making him into a weapon, with the price being the loss of his sense of self and ultimately his life) and Heaven (persuading Dean that it had to be this way, and telling him to go along with the plan).  We only have the Shadow's word for Billie's motivation, and we know she wasn't responsible for the deaths of the AU hunters, so in the end her status is ambiguous - she really seems to be a victim of Chuck's bad writing.  She's erased from the narrative along with Castiel, when really she should have been freed from Chuck's control and fighting on the side of nature and free will alongside the Winchesters.  Supernatural also concludes with nobody in the role of Death, which is a crazy loose thread left dangling.
Castiel: His confession was a thing of beauty, perfectly summing up the truth of both his and Dean's characters.  Both of them are made of and motivated by love.  And yet after speaking his truth, he is silenced.  He never gets to hear that he is loved in return (when the previous twelve seasons have made it abundantly clear to the audience that Dean loves Cas just as much as Cas loves Dean).  His capacity for love made him the only thing that Chuck could not control; as an agent of free will, he should have had a central role in Chuck's defeat.
In 15x13, when Cas is in the Empty to see Ruby, the Shadow says: "funny thing about [Death's] plan, though... she didn't say anything about needing you. Baby, you can't just traipse in and out of here. It upsets the order of things."  To me, this sounded so much like 4x22's "you're not in this story" that I saw it as a pretty clear indication that Cas would play an important part in Chuck's defeat.  Because Team Free Will wouldn't follow the plan, would they?  They would find another way, wouldn't they?  Wouldn't they?
However, after the confession, he's never seen on screen again.  He's barely mentioned.  Eventually we're told he "helped" Jack, so he ends up where he started: as a servant of heaven.  He deserved to complete his fall, to become human, to live as well as speak his truth.  Making him a silent, unseen instrument of heaven undoes his entire arc.  Erasing him from the narrative requires the extraordinary warping of that narrative: nothing about his death suggests that it should be accepted as a permanent 'sacrifice', when we know that there is a spell that can return angels from the Empty (and, thanks to the handprint, we have his blood for it) and that Lucifer was brought back by Chuck in 15x19.  And the idea that Sam, Jack and Dean wouldn't try everything in their power to bring him back is utterly ludicrous.
Cas' confession scene to so closely mirrors 4x01's barn scene that the narrative is crying out for the parallel to be completed by Dean rescuing Cas from the Empty just as Cas rescued Dean from hell.  However, we're never given that narrative closure - just like we are never given the reunions demanded by the scenes of Sam losing Eileen and Charlie losing Stevie.
Chuck:  Okay, so he might not make your list of characters you could ever care about, but my point about his ending is that while it's fitting, for it to really work we also needed Cas to become human, too.  For Chuck, being human is a punishment, but for Cas it would be a reward.  We really needed this balance, otherwise all we have is humanity as the worst thing that could happen to you, which is not exactly a great parting message for the show.  (Also, how precisely is it possible to make him human?)  Not only is being human the worst fate possible, but, specifically, so is growing old and being forgotten.  Again, this is a punishment for Chuck, but it would have been a reward for Dean: growing old when the story (and his own self-loathing) constantly told him that he would die young; and being forgotten, not in a negative sense, but in terms of not being a character in a story any more: remembered fondly by his friends but no longer a legend, just a man living an insignificant little life exactly the way he chooses.
Dean: Where do I even start.  Let's be clear: ending the story with his death (by any means and in any scenario) was always going to be the absolute worst possible ending for him and for the show.
In 15x19 we have the glorious moment when Chuck calls him the ultimate killer, and Dean (heeding Cas' words from 15x18) says "that's not who I am".  Now, I mean no disrespect to Dean here (because he is, canonically, a genius) but I don't think that he was in any way necessary to the Michael double-cross plot that eventually saw the defeat of Chuck.  Honestly, if he had died in 15x18, then 15x19 could still have played out in exactly the same way.  It's as if he wasn't saved so that he could save the world - he was saved so that he could have this moment of self-realisation.  He was saved so that he could stand up to Chuck (God, and the author, and parallelled with John) and tell him that he's not the person that he tried to force him to be.
And yet by the next episode, this revelation is entirely forgotten.  He doesn't get to continue his self-actualisation by speaking his truth to Cas.  Instead, 15x20 presents Dean as almost a caricature of himself.  Dean loves pie.  Dean loves his brother.  Dean loves his car.  All of his complexity (present right from Season 1) is stripped away.
Finally free to write his own story, he ends up giving Chuck the ending he always wanted: one dead Winchester - killed, you could argue, by his brother (Sam fails to call for help and instead tells Dean to "go".)  Told by Cas that he's not "Daddy's blunt instrument" and accepting that he's not "the ultimate killer", Dean goes right back to killing (even threatening torture) and following his father's words (in the form of the journal).
For Dean to die exactly as the story has always told him, and as he's always told himself in his worst moments of self loathing, is brutal and tragic.  What makes it truly appalling is the way in which both Dean and Sam accept his death and say it's "okay".  For Dean to say "always keep fighting" at the very moment when he gives up and when Sam gives up on him is bitterly ironic.  (Interestingly, when Cas said "you have to keep fighting" in his 12x12 death speech, exhorting Sam and Dean to save themselves and leave him behind, Sam replied with "we are fighting.  We're fighting for you, Cas" and Dean followed with "and like you said, you're family.  And we don't leave family behind".)
Dean has always been the symbol of humanity in Supernatural: he stood for earth against the forces of heaven and hell.  He'd rather live with pain and guilt than exist as a "Stepford bitch in paradise", and yet that's exactly what he becomes, driving mindlessly through Jack's new heaven where everyone is "happy".  Dean previously dismissed heaven's happiness as "Memorex", and after Mary's death he was the only one not consoled by the confirmation that she was in heaven and happy.  Having Dean being content in heaven is utterly out of character.  He's always fought for free will, and in heaven - where there's no agency, where he's cut off from the world - this is the one thing that he does not have.
Eileen: An interesting, complex, kickass character, Eileen deserved so much better than being erased from the storyline.  A Men of Letters legacy, I imagine her working with Sam to share the knowledge contained within the bunker whilst also dismantling the patriarchy, elitism and colonialism of its past.  Her disappearance from the narrative makes absolutely no sense - 15x09, 15x17 and 15x18 confirm just how significant she is to Sam, and yet we never see them reunited or see Sam mourning her death.  The audience's love for Eileen is totally disregarded, too - she's ripped away from us with no further explanation.
Emma: Okay, so she wasn't actually in season 15, but that's sort of my point.  I have a lot to say about Emma, but here I'll just say that her significance has grown massively since Season 7.  The narrative has shifted from Team Free Will being sons to being fathers.  Even if she wasn't brought back, just a mention of her would have been significant.  (I can't stop thinking about the massive potential of a conversation about Emma between Dean and Jack.)  She didn't deserve to be forgotten.
Season 15 was Supernatural's last opportunity to bring back characters from the past - such as Meg, original Charlie, Crowley, and Bela Talbot - and give them better endings.  Sadly this opportunity was wasted.
Garth: He actually seems to get his happy ending, on several levels.  He finds a family; he finds happiness; he's acknowledged as a hero by the Winchesters, who had previously mocked him.  Dean's words to him about embracing happiness are powerful.  Garth lives as his full, authentic self - monstrosity now included.  It's that monstrosity that's the issue here, though - as werewolves, Garth, Bess and little Sam and Castiel are doomed to go to purgatory when they die.  Mia Vallens said to Jack that "it doesn't matter what you are - it matters what you do", but in this case the opposite is true.  It's hideously unfair, but again the show never acknowledges this.  It would have been simple to change in a line or two - just a quick mention about how purgatory has been fixed, so that only truly monstrous beasts like the leviathan are kept trapped there - but the injustice remains.
Jack:  From his birth, his destiny was either to be the monstrous destroyer or the divine saviour of the world, which is precisely why he should have side-stepped it and found another way.  He deserved to live without the weight of the world on his shoulders.  Instead, he was forced to take on the power of God - and since when has someone suddenly taking on a huge amount of power ever ended well for Team Free Will?  Then, he repeats the exact same pattern set up by Chuck.  First, he abandons his creation by walking away and disappearing off to, in the words of Bobby, "wherever he went".  Like Chuck, he ignores earthly suffering: if he's now omniscient and omnipotent, is he in fact complicit in Dean's death?  Secondly, he's controlling: he remodels Heaven as he sees fit, making it a place where everyone's together and everyone's happy, with its inhabitants given absolutely no choice in the matter.  There's also no reason why Jack had to vanish from the story - Chuck was capable of spending time on Earth.
The mechanics of the bomb plot also irks me no end.  We're told by Death that the bomb will kill Jack.  However, their plan fails, and Jack survives the blast.  In 15x19, Dean tells Chuck that all the work done to turn Jack into a "cosmic bomb" has turned him instead into a "power vacuum."  It makes it seem like a side-effect, and also that "sucking up bits of power" has been charging him up to the point where he's "unstoppable".  He's able to both absorb and appropriate Chuck's power.  However, in 15x17 Adam and Serafina explain that the bomb will create a "metaphysical supernova" that will make Jack into "a living black hole for divine energy" - which suggests that, actually, the bomb worked as intended.
But if the plan worked, why is Jack still alive?  Billie made it clear that Jack wouldn't survive.  And "nothing can escape" a black hole - so how is Jack able to use Chuck's powers to bring back Earth's population? Besides which, didn't 15x17 reveal that Chuck himself had "orchestrated" the entire thing?  Which makes the theory that Chuck possessed Jack really the only outcome that makes sense.  (Particularly as Serafina talks about Jack making his "vessel" strong.  Jack is a nephil, not an angel - he has a body, not a vessel.  Also, the bomb is made by fusing his soul with his grace - so, the two things that make up Jack, his humanity and his divinity, are annihilated.)  Deliberately making Chuck win, however (with no tease at the end that this might be the case), makes no sense either.  My head hurts.
Kevin: As if he hadn't been treated badly enough by the story already, we find that Kevin hasn't been in Heaven since we last saw him, but rather hell.  He ends up as an untethered ghost, presumably just wandering about for all eternity.  His fate comes courtesy of a bizarre new rule that souls from hell can't go to heaven - when previously both Bobby and John have done exactly that.  Again, just one line telling us that he's now in heaven could have changed his ending.
Michael: Bringing back Adam and Michael was a brilliant move, and this version of Michael was utterly compelling - struggling with his faith in his father after being abandoned, torn between his loyalty to Heaven and his relationship with Adam.  I thought that his handing over of the spell was very similar to Cas' "just so you understand … why I can't help" moment, and it seemed the precursor to Michael becoming an advocate for humanity, even a member of Team Free Will.  However, instead Michael was doomed to play out his father's narrative: killing his brother and repeating the cycle of sibling conflict and trauma that Chuck began when he betrayed Amara.  (And we'll credit Chuck's bad writing with the fact that the battle between Michael and Lucifer that was once predicted to wipe out millions and scorch the globe can now happen in the bunker without so much as a chair being knocked over - and without wires as well.)
Rowena: She seems to be relishing her reign as Queen of Hell, but the way she's so casually condemned is jarring.  Surely her previous good deeds and her final act of self sacrifice would be enough to tip the scales in a heavenly direction?  (It worked for Lily Sunder - another woman who vowed never to be powerless again.)  They could easily have said it was Chuck's fault that she had to remain in hell - but instead it just seems like a foregone conclusion.  She deserved better.
Sam: If we're supposed to believe that having a "normal" life is Sam's idea of writing his own story, why doesn't he do it as soon as Chuck is defeated?   Instead, his suburban "apple pie" life only happens after Dean dies, which makes it seem more of a grief arc than a happy ending.  (Just as he escaped into a self-professed "fantasy" life with Amelia after Dean's death, or when he succumbed to the comfort of a fake married life in Charming Acres after the trauma of losing all the AU hunters).
The idea that he'd keep hunting for Dean doesn't ring true - Dean had been the one openly craving retirement and domesticity for several seasons.  After all, the idea of Dean as a hunter and Sam as the brother who wants to be normal is Chuck's story.  Dean wasn't the "ultimate killer" that Chuck wanted him to be, and Sam too had been forging his own identity as a leader, a Man of Letters, and a powerful witch.  He'd also found love - and with Eileen, he could be his full, authentic self.  The idea that he would leave her is absurd, as is the idea that he would abandon his entire extended found family, who seem to have no part in his new life.  When Dean returned from purgatory, he was furious that Sam had failed to help Kevin.  Would Sam really do the exact same thing again - walk away from Jody and the girls when they are mourning both Cas and Dean and need his support?  Would he just abandon Rowena's entire witchy collection and leave the huge store of knowledge in the Bunker locked up in the dark?
The Shadow: again, dubious on a list of characters you care about, but hey - all they ever really wanted was to go back to sleep, and can't we all relate to that?  Anyway, they made the list for being one of the most frustrating open endings of the show.  What did it mean for the Empty to be "loud"?  Who is the Shadow, anyway?  Just how did this cosmic entity fit in with the mythology of Chuck and Amara?  It's maddening that the Shadow and the Empty were made central to several seasons only to be suddenly dropped.
The Wayward Sisters: my beloveds. Such a brilliant cast of characters and such wasted potential.  They're an important part of the Winchesters' family and Team Free Will, but, in the end, they're forgotten.  Claire may have gotten her happy ending with the return of Kaia, but this happens off screen.  We never see her reaction to the deaths of Castiel or Dean.
The final few episodes seem to be about stripping away all of the characters except Sam and Dean, so they are completely alone by 15x20. Phrases such as "just us" and "just you and me" and "it's always been you and me" seem to suggest that this is a good thing, but previously the idea of them being isolated and alone has seemed like the worst case scenario (for example in Season 8, when Sam and Dean are forced to give up Amelia and Benny, respectively, or in Chuck's vision of a future in which the brothers lose Eileen and Cas along with Jody and the girls, give up hope, and end up as vampires, killed by their remaining friends).
Anyway, the whole idea of just Sam and Dean going wherever the road takes them is Chuck's story.  It's on the cover of his books.  By making Chuck the villain, Season 15 itself makes it impossible for a return to this idea to be a satisfying conclusion to the story.
In fact, Supernatural was never about just Sam and Dean.  It was always about family.  Season 1 was about Sam, Dean and John.  Bobby introduced the phrase "family don't end with blood" in Season 3 and Dean coined the phrase "Team Free Will" in Season 4.  It's an ethos that has spread into the fandom, too.  Didn't the SPN Family deserve a finale that celebrated that idea, of banding together, of caring about the whole world, of love being the ultimate expression of free will?
You can't help but pick up on a theme: characters that were forgotten are forgotten again.  Characters who were locked away are locked away again.  The same narratives and the same traumas play out again and again.  No-one escapes their miserable, predestined fate.  It's Chuck's ending.  And it's Chuck's spiteful ending.
It's the ending that kills off its beloved characters, and also destroys their whole world.  The bunker is left in darkness.  Time has moved forward by so much in order to accommodate Sam's natural death that we can't even imagine the ongoing stories of other characters like Garth or the Sioux Falls family (ironic, given the episode's title).
It's the kind of ending you get when a show is cancelled and the writer decides to kill off their characters and wreck their world so that there's no possibility of another network or another writer taking over their story.  (And yet outside of the show, there's no evidence to suggest this - you would think that the ending had been designed to make a reboot impossible, but it has already been talked about.)
If we were not going to get a sense of the world continuing, then we could have been given a more radical and satisfying ending.  We could have had Death collect on their promise to one day reap God.  We could have had a world freed from the supernatural entirely: heaven, hell and purgatory obliterated, and Team Free Will finding peace in life on earth.
Because Chuck has been the author and the narrator the entire time, it makes no sense for the story to continue past the point of his defeat.  (It makes even less sense for that story to revert back to Chuck's ideal narrative.)  So, really we should have been given a more open ending: Team Free Will triumphant over Chuck and their future left open, the author dead and the characters' stories entrusted to the audience.
Instead, in the end, it's a bizarre mix of needlessly closed-down endings (killing off Cas, Sam and Dean, and vanishing Jack) and frustrating open ones (the loud Empty, there being no Death, Kevin wandering, the ambiguous fate of Eileen, Adam, Donna and the AU hunters).
And the final two episodes are also objectively bad.  The double-cross plot in 15x19 is lame when the resolution of the Chuck storyline should have been profound. (It invites comparisons with the Season 11 finale, which was excellent.) 15x20 feels weirdly empty and flat.  Dean's death is unrealistic; it echoes Sam's death in Season 2 and Dean's in Season 9 (which, if you think about it, would only be possible if Chuck was still writing it), but lacks the emotional punch of either.  Dean's "I'm proud of us," in his Season 9 death scene is so much more powerful than his "I'm proud of you" in the finale.  And let's not even mention that wig.
In conclusion: every single character deserved better.  The actors deserved better.  The audience deserved better.  Because the ending we were given was not the ending that the season, or the entire series, had been building towards.
The ending tries to destroy every good thing that Supernatural has ever given us - vibrant characters, the fight for free will, the value of found family, the power of love - but it fails. Ultimately the characters and themes are too powerful to be contained by that terrible, flimsy ending. So now I've gotten all of that off my chest, I'm going right back to finale denialism.

Supernatural: Plotholes, Thoughts and Other Unanswered Questions.
I know that I am extremely late with this, but life got in the way. I know that a lot has happened since the finale. (The online reunion happened tonight and I missed it.) I would really like to get some of your guys opinons. I have my thoughts on the show finale and I would love the feedback and hopefully some answers. I tagged the following mutuals that I know are part of the fandom. If you don’t want to participate, I completely understand and no hard feelings.
After letting the finale sink in, I still have a few things I need to know. Some of these may have been answered and I am just a dumbass and didn’t know it. If you know the answer or have an opinion on anything, please feel free to share it with me. I am not leaving the fandom just because the show is over. Some of this may be ranting. Some you may not care about. So, let’s talk...
I have been trying to think of a way to put all my questions and thoughts in a easier way to understand. Cause I have more than a few.
1. Dean’s Death.
(a.)The first question may be dumb, but how the hell was Dean still standing after he died? That has always confused me about the show. Whenever one of the characters is tied up standing, they never fall. Even passed out or apparently dead.
(b.)I think that Dean was ready to die. Because even though Sam and Dean are free from Chuck’s story, Dean may not be truly happy because Cas is gone. I think that’s why he is attached to the dog. It was a subsitute for Cas’s abscence. We have seen in previous seasons when Cas dies, that Dean always spirals. He drinks himself unconcious and throws himself into hunts. He is visibly shaken whenever he witnesses Cas’s death. He held on to Cas’s coat in season 6&7 after he died. Dean does whatever he can to ensure Castiel’s safety.
2. Sam’s Life After Dean.
(a.) It was nice to see Sam live a “normal” life. However, with him living his normal life, there are a lot of questions. Did Sam marry and have a child with Eileen? I get that with the pandemic everyone wasn’t able to be there for filming. So, I truly undersdtand why we didn’t see Shoshannah in the final episode. We onlyget to see a woman on the porch in the background. She is so far away we can’t see her. Even during Sam’s life montage, we see diffrent pictures, but none of Eileen. Hell, the only woman’s picture I saw was Mary. Nothing around his death bed either.
(b.) Did Sam give up hunting? We know that he gave it up when Dean and Cas went to purgatory. Now that they are both TRULY gone, did he just completely give it up? I can’t imagine that just because he is free and alone, that he would let innocent people die. I know that he wouldn’t go after big hunts, but maybe a ghost or spirit.
(c.)Does Little Dean ‘D’  become a hunter/Men of Letters? I am sure that Sam told ‘D’ about all the monsters and dangers of the world. But does he become a hunter? Did ‘D’ get Baby after Sam’s death? What happened to the Bunker and all the relics? It seems kind of wrong to just leave the Bunker unattended. There are so many hunters that could use it.
3. Missing people.
(a.)Kevin Tran. Did Kevin get to go to the new heaven or did Jack bring him back to life to be with his mom? Cause the last time we saw Kevin, he was a ghost in Hell. (Cause Chuck is a dick.) Heaven was closed and he had to go and roam around. Kevin deserved better.
(b.)Adam Milligan. What happened to Adam? Did he go to heaven or did Jack bring him back? Because technically, Chuck killed him in the snap. If he died,  he really deserves to go to heaven. He was in the cage with Michael and Lucifer. He was forgotten by his brothers and the other angels.
(c.)Alisha and Max Banes. A few of you may not remember them, but I always wonder what happened to them. In season 12, the twins call Mary’s phone for some help to find their mother. There they go through the “MOTW” scenarios. When Alisha dies from her wounds, Max takes the witches ring and create a Twig!Alisha and burns his siters body. We never got to see what happened to them. I know that they weren’t huge side characters, but they were interesting to me.
(d.)Harper Sayles. Harper’s storyline has always felt unfinished to me. She had her apperance in season”s 14 “Optimism”, where Dean and Jack work a case in Nebraska. Jack gets close to Harper and she believes that they are in love. It is revealed that she comes from a long necromancers and she brought back her dead boyfriend Vance. After Vance is caught, Harper escapes, but is seen later in a diner writing a love letter to Jack. She says that when she finds Jack she’ll have to kill him for what he did to Vance. But, that she can bring Jack back just like Vance, because their love is so vivid. She addresses it to Jack Smith, Lebanon, Kansas P.O. Box... So what happened to her? Harper could have been a very interesting character for at least 2 episodes. Watching Jack having to deal with his own version of Becky. I just thought that it was weird that she knew where he lived (kinda) and we just never heard from her again.
(e.)The Horsemen. During season 5, we got to meet the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse; War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death. This one kinda confuses me. In this season I was to believe that the Horsemen couln’t be killed. (Death’s death was a shocker.) But they couldn’t kill War. They just took his ring.
(f.)Jesse Turner/Antichrist. This is by far the biggest plotholes I know from the show. Where the hell is Jesse. He had one episode in season 5, “I Believe the Children Are Our Future.” It is discovered on a case that Jesse is a Cambion, half-human, half-demon. Castiel reveals that he is the Antichrist. He was destines to align with Lucifer and “With a word.” destroy the forces of heaven. Afterword, Jesse disappears and is never seen or heard from again. I definetely thought that we would see him the last 2 seasons. Given that these were the biggest villians. A battale between him and Jack would have been so awesome. This is the biggest plothole for me. Heaven wanted Jesse dead and then they just forgot about him.
(g.)Jesus Christ. Where was Jesus? He was mentioned a plethora of times on the show, yet he doesn’t get any reconigtion. Throughout the shows running time, different dieties mention him. Eve said in Season 6 “...And Then There Was None”, to character Rick, “You know that he was just a man.” In season 3, “A Very Supernatural Christmas”, Madge and Edward Carrigan are Pagan gods. Edward tells the Winchesters, “All of a sudden, this Jesus character is the new hot thing in town. All of a sudden our alters are being burned down and we are being hunted down like monters.” Even if He was just a man, he was still important to Chuck at one point. Wouldn’t that make him a viable ally during this?
That is basically the main “issues” I have with the show. If anyone wants to discuss this, please feel free to share your thoughts. Love you guys and Carry on.

How the Supernatural characters would react if you flinched when they tried to touch you..🥺
I really wish I had Dean Winchester to snuggle up to every night man. 😂🙄☹️
Dean: Being the much more aggressive, straight forward of the brothers, he would probably at first be shocked. I mean, what the hell was that? You’ve never done that before. Of course, you have to know he would never, ever hurt you, or let anyone else do anything to hurt you either, but you got scared of him touching you? I mean..him? He would definitely want to know what the hell that was about, and wouldn’t take no for an answer, even if Sammy butted in to lay off of you. He just wants to keep you safe, so don’t take it personally, but once you told him he would pull you in against him and hold you so tight you’d feel like you were a part of him, and he would probably even rub your back and kiss your head, but inwardly, he would be planning his next hunt.
Sammy: He would be devastated to see it, but probably wouldn’t outwardly say he was. I mean, he loves you, and you have to know that. Why would you be afraid of him touching you? He had done it so many times before. He would probably try to figure out a way to talk to you about it gently, without making you scared or uncomfortable, but once you do, he would be heartbroken and angry. How dare someone hurt you? He would probably be afraid to touch you, but he might reach up to touch your cheek and tell you that it’s all going to be alright, and you’re safe now. They can’t hurt you again, because he wouldn’t allow it. And honestly, he would probably let Dean take care of the dirty work tbh.
Castiel: Awe man, the angel baby. There is very little this guy doesn’t know about, so he probably wouldn’t be very surprised if you flinched around him, because he would probably know the root of the problem. It was because of them, wasn’t it? They scarred you, and now you were afraid of anyone coming too close to you. Cass isn’t the best at expressing his inward feelings, but he would probably make sure to make it evident how angry he was about it, and how he wouldn’t let them get away with it. He might also just make you some pancakes that he saw Dean make once, so even if they taste God awful, eat them anyway. It’s the thought that counts.
Jack: He probably wouldn’t understand, at first, what the fuck was happening. He may even just overlook it as a reflex because humans can have those at times, can’t they? But if you get upset about it, or look distressed, he would catch on that it wasn’t just some simple, little thing, and would probably be immediately concerned for you. He’s probably honestly one of the best people to talk about shit with, because he’s gonna give you a very thoroughly honest opinion on literally anything. And his opinion about a piece of shit that hurt you? Yikes. I’m not sure I wanna know how infuriated he would be.
Bobby: CAN YOU SAY PAPA SINGER? What a guy. There is no doubt this man would be beyond fucking angry. How dare they hurt you? He doesn’t even need to know who they are to hate them on the spot, especially since he loves you, and he would be verbal about it too, don’t worry. He would probably be the one to try and get you to laugh, crack open a beer for you, and pull you in against his side as he does work for an upcoming job, but he would let you help out just to distract you from it. I love his energy tbh. Always have.
Adam: Soft boy would be concerned. What the hell do you mean that someone hurt you? Why would they do something like that? What fucking imbeciles, honestly. He probably would be unsure of what to do to help, but he might just offer you a hug, or maybe just rub your shoulder a little to calm you down, and just tell you that you’re safe, and he would have Sam and Dean take care of it if you wanted them to. He’s definitely super supportive, I’ll give him that much.
Gabriel: Um..so I LOVE Gabe, to the death, but this guy would probably make a joke out of it. I hate to think that he would, but he just fucking might, unless you really mean something to him, then he would fucking blow someone off the map. But he doesn’t care about too many people, so be careful about that.
Michael: He is not gonna give a single fuck, so don’t even think he would.
Lucifer: Much like his big brother on this one, but a little more extreme. He’s gonna be a pretty toxic fuck about it, so don’t even bother opening up to him. Just don’t.
Crowley: MY GUY. LOVE. He’s got some venom, lemme tell you. Someone hurt you? Darling, don’t fret over it, he will take care of it. It’s done. It’s super simple, and he will make sure they suffer. Oh you don’t want them to? HAHA well..too late for that.
Rowena: It will depend more on how much you mean to her over how the situation makes her feel. She may not like that someone hurt you, but that doesn’t mean she will pay any attention to it unless she feels it’s important to her to do so. But if she does, expect the same of her as you do from Crowley. DING DONG, that person will be dead.
Garth: Ah so he probably will notice because Garth pays attention to that shit, but he probably wouldn’t push you about it. He’s sort of awkward, so don’t take it personally, but if you break down he might end up pushing you to tell him what the hell is going on. Once you tell him, be prepared for some greasy food, a beer, and a person that will try to cheer you up, because that’s all him.
Charlie: Literally one of my favorite characters ever, I swear to the gods. She might be confused at first as to why you reacted to her that way, but she wouldn’t take it personally, I promise. She would probably lead you somewhere quiet and alone and try to gently ease the truth out of you, but don’t be scared, because she will genuinely always listen to you. She cares so much, and that’s her biggest heartwarming trait and, ultimately, her downfall.
Kevin: KEEEEEEVVVVVVIN. YES. He may act all tough about it and say he will end them for you, but he’s a small boy, and he will probably not be able to do shit, but it’s the thought that counts. He’s much better at trying to cheer you up, which is also what he would do, and he might avoid forcing you to explain it to him altogether. He cares about you, and you only.
Cain: He is a pretty scary dude, I get it, but if you really believe he wouldn’t end that son of a bitch that ever decided to harm you, you’re damn wrong. And he would enjoy it too, more than he would care to admit.
Jo: It wouldn’t take her long to figure it out on her own, which is what she’s good at, but she isn’t gonna let it go. Who are they, and where are they? They deserve to get knocked out.
Ellen: What a MOM, that’s all I gotta say. She wouldn’t push you to speak about it, but she would want to know if you were safe now, or if she had to hurt someone for you. She also wouldn’t trust anyone with you besides the family, ever again, and she might force Dean and Sam to babysit you. Just let her mother you, please.
Ash: HA HA this man would do everything in his power to fuck someone up. He doesn’t care what they are, who they are, or if they’re still around, he would just want to be absolutely sure you were safe now. He has ways of finding shit out, so if you don’t tell him, he will find out, so just make it easier on yourself.
John Winchester: As much as I’d like to believe he wouldn’t care, he would. And he would have something to say about it. He may not step in to do anything, but he would lecture the fuck out of you, that you know better and blah blah blah.
Mary Winchester: Unlike her husband, she would have a lot less to say about the problem and much more shit she would do about it, physically.
Ruby: She wouldn’t care. If you think she would, that’s a lie. Sorry.
Meg: She would be thinking of all the ways to end a human life in a matter of seconds. She’s a creative girl, I’ll give her that, and stubborn too.
Chuck: Do I even have to respond for this one? He wouldn’t care. He would probably even bypass any mention of your pain, and Dean and Sam would have to make you feel better. This is why Dean would be the one to knock him tf out.
Benny: Big Ben would, for obvious reasons, be heartbroken that you would ever think he would hurt you, but much like Dean, he’s a violent guy. Do I have to explain further?
Balthazar: Who are you, again?
Death: He would just end their life in under 2 seconds flat. He is the man you should go to if you’re out for vengeance. He doesn’t much care for human lives, and would gladly help you out if need be, as long as you make him a hot pocket.
Zachariah: Don’t tell him shit. #dickwad
Lisa: She would be a lot like Ellen, and would probably mother the fuck out of you about it. Need some tea, maybe a sandwich? Wanna have some wine and just look at old photo albums and laugh at Dean’s young self? She’s there for you.
Jody: Another mother figure, but she would be way more built on vengeance and irritation than anything else. Do you need help ending someone? She could help cover it up for you, no charge.
Samuel Campbell: Nah. Just..nah.
Arthur Ketch: Don’t waste your TIME man. This man hasn’t cared about anyone since he was born.
Gadreel: He won’t care. You think he will? BOOM. Still doesn’t. Sorry.

🌊What the Water Gave Him 🌊
Destiel-centric finale spec based on a post I made earlier, found here
Can be read on ao3 here
It was over. Chuck lost, Sam and Dean can live their lives how they want them. But their victory wasn't without losses. The biggest upset nearly taking Dean out of the game, happening so close to the final battle. Now he's on the other side, alive against all odds, but Sam knows he isn't happy. Not truly happy since the Empty stole his best friend.
But there's a chance they can save him. A slim chance. A risk that Dean's willing to take despite every logical nerve in Sam's body screaming at him to look for better options. That threading a needle this small is too dangerous. That they don't have to take on another big bad, not anymore. That they don't have to risk their lives anymore. Dean is far past the point of listening. Dead set on this mission, Sam can only watch.
And pray his brother proves him wrong.
He stands along the water’s edge, gentle waves lapping the rocky shore. Barely licking at his boots while he gazes upon the beautiful, blue stretch of lake. Sun hanging low on the horizon, sky a far deeper color of orange than earlier.
They’ve been at this for over an hour.
Sam glances behind him, skin crawling as he sees nothing changed since last he looked. Jack stationed on one edge of the circle, Michael at the other. Dean between them, his eyes closed. Lying deathly still over the sigils scratched into the earth. His skin pale, and both hands tightly clasped around tan fabric folded over Dean’s lap.
He hates this. What Dean’s doing. That Sam cannot help. And how it’s their only option.
Jack saw this once before. A variation of it, actually. “When I killed Nick,” he said, handing out copies of photographs he printed out amongst their little group. “I found him in the middle of resurrecting Lucifer –“
“If he just had a little more patience,” Dean sneered. “Chuck could’ve saved him a whole lot of effort, though I’d doubt it’d end any differently.” Adam nodded at Dean’s side, studying his copy with interest like Sam did. Trying to identify the scene Jack captured. Dean continued, not even addressing the image. “Do you think this can work?”
“Given who we’re doing this for, no,” he admitted, “the spell Nick found would only open a portal to the Empty, wake Lucifer up. It would then be up to him to cross over, and with his amount of power that wouldn’t be difficult.” Jack then opened the book he brought, pushing it into the middle of the table. Pointing at an illustration. “But I think I can modify it. Although…”
Sam set the photo down, facing Jack. “What is it Jack?”
“I… well, it’d be very complicated,” he started, not meeting Sam’s gaze. “For it to work, me and Michael would need to use all of our power.”
“To wake Cas? Jack, you did it before –“
“When the Empty was asleep,” Jack said, “when they weren’t expecting it. When Cas hadn’t already ticked them off… they’ve already lost him once.”
“And they won’t be keen on losing Cas again,” Dean added. A storm darkening his hooded stare. Sam watched him sink into his seat, memories from that awful night weighing on Dean. It haunted him, too. Finding Dean curled around himself the next morning, unresponsive, incoherently mumbling about their friend. Shoulder stained with dried blood. In time, he recovered as he always did. Sometimes though Sam feared he’d turn and there Dean would be. Shattered completely with no chance of putting those pieces together. Stuck in that helpless ball, trembling. Forever praying. That’s not the case now. No sign of careful fragility anymore, the storm passing. Back ramrod straight Dean carelessly flicked the photo away. “What else you need?”
“Ingredients that we have here at the Bunker, I’m sure,” Jack continued, “a nice open space where we can perform the ritual. Something that belonged to Cas, that will resonate with his unique wavelength. And finally…” he trailed off near the end, faltering.
           “Jack,” Sam said, “What else?”
“One of us would have to go in,” he told them, “but… there’s a chance they might not come back.” For the first second, there’s silence. The next –
“Jack, there has to be –“
           “I’ll do it.”
He whipped his head towards him, scowling at the grim determination of Dean’s face. Lips thinned in a small line. Brows bent aggressively. An expression that appeared whenever Dean grabbed onto the most idiotic, suicidal thought he had and stubbornly refused to surrender. He’d refuse any option other than what he decided. Arguing with him when he’s like that was impossible.
           Sam tried regardless.
“There has to be another way,” Sam whispered, both men waiting as Jack and Michael recreated Nick’s sigil-work in the dirt. Leaning against Baby’s frame, drinking in silence. “Billie always threatened she’d throw us in there one day, why don’t we ask her –“
“She’d never agree to it, Sammy. Too messy.” Dean wouldn’t look at Sam. Not since he exploded on Dean back at the Bunker. Called him selfish, that the last thing Cas wants is Dean endangering himself. His tantrum earned Sam a swift right hook he still has the bruise from, cheek mottled blue and green. Dean’s knuckles newly scabbed. “Billie plays by the universe’s rules… and we make our own.”
“Yes, finally. Rules we fought so hard to make, I…” Sam sighed, “we were finished, Dean. No more big risks. We won. Facing the Empty… there’s no do-over button if you get stuck there.”
           “I’m okay with that.”
“And yet you’re still doing this?”
“It’s like I told you Sam,” he said, finally deigning Sam with a frigid glance. Steely resolve sharpening it, cutting through him. “Have been telling you. You don’t have a clue what’s really going on. If you knew… you’d see there’s no risk at all.”
Sam’s temper flares now, pain edging his vision. “Then let me in, Dean. Tell me. Why are you so afraid of –“
           “I’m not afraid –“
“You clearly are,” he hissed, “otherwise you wouldn’t be throwing yourself into another near-death experience instead of having a simple conversation with me.” Sam reels his anger back, softening. Pleading. “I want Cas here as much as you do, Dean. But there has to be another way.”
Dean drained his bottle and then threw it. Far enough so when it exploded the glass wouldn’t touch them. “If it were Eileen stuck in there,” he said, “you’d know there wasn’t.”
He paused. “Eileen? What’s that have to –“
Jack called, saying they were ready. Dean stalked off towards them. Sam left behind in his confusion. “Do you have the anchor?”
“Right here.” He showed Jack the trench coat, grip on it gentle like if he squeezed any tighter Dean might rip it. “Where do you want me?”
Sam remembered Dean rambled on about its sturdiness. Boasting how he gassed the store clerk with half-truths to not draw suspicion when asking after ‘protective outerwear’. Buying it because he noticed a tear along the seam of Cas’s armpit. “I thought he’d stitch it up,” Dean laughed, whipping his purchase like a cape. Playing with it. Sam chuckled at his brother’s antics. “But he just shrugged and carried on like it was nothing. I asked him why he left it and he tells me that it’d be a waste of his grace.”
“Then why didn’t you mend it for him?”
           “…What?”
“Come on, Dean,” Sam said, “you’re a master with the needle. And I’m not talking about sewing gashes… do you recall the Luke Skywalker costume you made me from those stolen motel bed sheets?”
Dean blushed, “I was just a kid then, Sammy…”
“Still the best costume, better than any of those store-bought ones at school.”
“Well… maybe I didn’t want to fix it,” he said, “that’s why. I mean… sure I could’ve. But then he’d rip it again and… it’s not like he can’t have another jacket! Cas needs a little more variety.”
Sam snorted. “Yeah, because a slightly lighter brown is really crazy for him. What’s he even gonna do with it?”
“Wear it?” Dean said, “Or… put it away, keep it here. Dude’s been living with us this long and how much stuff does he own? It might not be a huge change but it’s… it’s a start, Sam.”
Dean was right in buying it. Ransacking Cas’s room, there wasn’t anything they could use for the spell save for the single, untouched trench coat hanging in his closet. As Sam leaves that memory, he realized too late the others began without him. Jack and Michael knelt like statues. His brother had left for the Empty.
           And he’s still there.
Helpless while Dean pokes the bear in his cave. Sitting on the sidelines as he faces down an extraordinary being with limitless powers, like beating Chuck wasn’t pure luck. Like any of their efforts left a scratch on him. It was a group effort, what little remained of their family pitching in. Sending Chuck onto his next project. But this… it was just Dean. He was alone. And worse… Sam thinks his brother wanted it that way.
If it were Eileen stuck in there, you’d know it wasn’t.
When he wasn’t worrying about Dean, Sam mulled over his parting message. Trying to fit together the pieces Dean gave. He suspects it’s a simple picture. A niggling sense at the base of his skull tells Sam that the answer is clear. It always was. Except he looked past it, over and over, again and again. Never seeing the truth of it. Of Dean and Cas. Without either of them here, where he can observe them one more time – careful, in a way Sam hasn’t before – Sam doubts he will uncover much of anything.
At least it distracts him from Dean. Until it doesn’t.
Dean gasps, lurching forward. Coughing, spitting up bile and gagging on air. Michael collapses, exhausted. Jack almost follows but overcomes his dizziness. Sam, the only unaffected one, dashes towards. Rubs Dean’s back while he works through his nausea. How Dean lets him either shows he’s too woozy to know it’s him, or the earlier animosity was forgotten. As Dean claws at his shirt, gasping, repeating his name, Sam guesses the latter. “Yes, Dean?” he says, “What is it?”
“Cas,” he says, voice hoarse and raw, “Where… where is he?”
There weren’t any portals. Nor did a star shoot downwards from the sky. Their friend had not even blinked into existence with a smile and a familiar rumble.  “Cas,” Sam sighs, “Cas. Dean, I don’t think –“
           “Cas.”
He scrambles to his feet, knocking Sam onto the ground. Dean runs across the shore and, when he reaches the lake, wades in. Fully dressed, madly waving the trench coat. Sam yells, but Dean ignores him. Hellbent on drowning himself.
           Except Sam misses it, again.
Someone meets Dean halfway. Breaking through the lake’s surface, swimming to where the water rests above their waists. Drags his brother into a hug, spinning him. With raven hair, tanned skin, and blue eyes crinkled with joy and life and love. “Cas,” Sam says, “it’s… it worked?”
“Of course it worked,” Jack says, “This is Dean and Cas.”
Maybe Sam understands because of the off-hand way Jack spoke about the two men. Or, more likely, it’s when Cas – wrapped in the trench coat Dean bought him – sweeps Dean into his arms and kisses him. Dean melts under his touch, responding with an excitement that had been absent when Chuck left them alone for real. It doesn’t matter how. He finally gets it.
Dean and Cas… they get their happy ending.

It’s A Cold And It’s A Broken Hallelujah Finale
Word Count: 5505
A/N: Holy crap this took a while. I left pairings out because I have so many in this and I’m kind of tired since it’s late and my brain just can’t do it anymore tonight. Now that I’m finally done with this I can move on to other stories I want to get working on.
One last hunt, that's all Dean had wanted before the three of you retired. It seemed like a simple enough one too. There were a few vamps that had been attacking and killing people in their home. It was supposed to be easy, instead the four of you had been ambushed. Jack made short work of the vampire that grabbed him and so did you but Sam and Dean were struggling with theirs "Jack go help Sam I'll help Dean." you called out.
"Okay." Jack said before running and jumping on the vampire that was trying to take a bite out of Sam, a second later the sound of a head hitting the ground could be heard and you turned to see Jack standing in front of Sam panting. You turned back to Dean to see the male vampire he was fighting shoving him towards a support beam, when you turned to look you saw a rusty piece of rebar sticking out ready to pierce Dean's back.
"Dean!" you called out before rushing forward. You gave him enough of a distraction to push the vampire away from him and the two of you swung at the vamp at the same time, your swing was low so you cut off one of the vampire's arms while Dean succeeded in cutting his head off. Both you and Dean stared at each other before he pulled you into a hug.
"Thank you. I was sure that I was a goner." he whispered before kissing the top of your head.
"You would of been if I hadn't stepped in." you said pointing to the piece of rusty metal. Dean turned and looked before grimacing, he walked over to the rebar and touched his finger to it. You watched him quickly move his hand away and he turned to look at you while shaking his hand, you just rolled your eyes at him.
"Yeah that would hurt like hell." Dean said as he quickly and carefully walked away from it.
"So you said that you're ready for retirement right?" you asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah I think after all of this that it would be best if we just packed it in. That was way too close." Dean said as Sam and Jack walked over.
"So what about you guys? Are you ready to go home?" you asked.
"Yeah let's go." Sam said. The four of you went out to the impala and while you were getting everything put away when Sam got a text message from Eileen. He looked at the screen in confusion before walking away, you could see him going into his phone and pulling her name up before he walked around the building and out of your sight.
"Where's Sam going?" Jack asked but you just shrugged.
"Don't know. Maybe he has to go to the bathroom. Give him a minute or two." you said wanting Sam to have his privacy. When he still hadn't come back fifteen minutes later Dean became concerned and you watched as he walked to the spot where Sam had disappeared to. After about another five minutes Dean came back around and you could tell that something had happened by the look on his face. "Dean what's going on?" you asked as he got closer, he stopped and put his hands on his hips as if he was trying to think of the best way to tell you.
"Eileen's pregnant." he said before a smile spread across his face. You and Jack gasped before you turned to look at each other with smiles on your faces. Sam slowly walked around the corner and he silently got into the passenger seat before the rest of you did and Dean started up the car while looking at Sam. Everyone was quiet until you got back to town. You were sitting at a stop light still taking in the news of Eileen's pregnancy when Dean looked at you through the rearview mirror.
"So Y/N don't you have good news too? I heard you and Jack excitedly talking about something before we left." he said. You saw a look of confusion cross Sam's face and he turned to look at you, Dean had caught you filling applications out which is what had sparked the idea to get a few and fill them out himself but either Sam was unaware or hadn't heard you and Jack that morning.
"Uh yeah. I got a call from the book store that I had an interview with last week and I got the job. And I also got a call about the apartment that Jack and I were looking at." you said trying to hold back both the tears and the smile that were threatening to appear. It felt like you had known Sam and Dean all your life and you had to stop to remind yourself several times that they weren't your biological brothers so the fact that you were now moving out of one of the places you had called home in your life and leaving them behind even though you weren't moving that far hurt. "Jack and I got the apartment. We've been slowly packing up in between hunts." you told them. Sam quickly turned around and looked at you before looking at Dean.
"Did you know?" he asked him and Dean let out a sigh as he slowly pushed on the accelerator.
"I saw her filling the application out for the job and I drove her and Jack to the apartment. And don't look at me like that. You were there for a few things that I found out about later too. Still wish you had warned me that they were together before I walked in on them in bed when I found out." Dean said, giving Sam a look when he saw the disappointment on his face.
"We're not moving far Sam. The apartment's right there." Jack said as he scratched behind one of Miracle's ears with one hand and pointed out the window with the other. Sam twisted his body so that he could look out the window, he had to admit it did look like a nice apartment and he could see kids around Jack's assumed age walking around.
"I have to get out Sam. There's to many memories in the bunker for me. I can't go anywhere without thinking of Castiel. I'm going crazy. Last night I swore I heard him pacing through the hallway, and then I felt the bed dip down beside me and I thought I felt someone kiss my cheek. I thought it was Jack at first but when I turned around there was no one there but it felt like there was someone on the bed." you said wiping at your tears.
"I get it. Believe me I do. When Jesse died I thought I was going crazy too. Everywhere we went I saw her, I'd see a flash of golden hair and I'd run after the person thinking it's her. I couldn't even smell the perfume she used to wear without thinking about her for almost six months. So believe me I get it." Sam said, giving you a smile.
"Dad was the same way for a while after mom died. I used to wake up in the middle of the night because I'd hear him calling out to her in his sleep. He'd whip his head around so fast I was afraid he was going to break it whenever he'd hear her name. Believe me we both understand." Dean said. What neither of them told you was that they had started to believe that Castiel was back, both of them had sworn that they had heard him call out to them. Dean had chased some poor guy the other day just because he was wearing a tan trench coat and had short black hair. After you had pulled into the bunker the four of you got out of the car, Jack went to take Miracle out for a walk while you went to your room to finish packing and Dean went off to finish his application.
------------------------------------Two-weeks-later-------------------------------------------
"Yeah we're almost finished unpacking everything mom. Jack's been decorating his room almost every day since we got here." you said. You, Sam and Dean had bought Jack a bunch of stuff for him to put in his new room and all he had done since the two of you had moved into your apartment other than hang out with the other kids in the other apartments was work day and night on getting it just right. You had gone in at least three times to find his room completely rearranged because he hadn't been sure where he wanted to put everything but you were sure he had it figured out now.
"Well let me know when you and Jack are done. Your father and I are dying to meet our grandson. Three years and we've never gotten to meet him." your mother said.
"I know but with everything that was going on after he was born I just couldn't find the time." you told her.
"I know. Your father and I still keep in touch with some of our old hunting buddies. They never stop talking about you guys. How are Sam and Dean doing?" she asked.
"Fine. Dean got hired at the local mechanics shop and Sam's moving in with Eileen. They're expecting a baby so they've decided to quit hunting too. I think they're going to go work at a school for the deaf a few towns over." you said.
"Well that's good. At least you've all got something planned. What about their younger brother Adam? I know you said that he doesn't talk to them but has he talked to you at all?" she asked. In fact Adam had been keeping in touch with you, his only condition had been that if his brothers asked you and Jack had no clue where he was at.
"Yeah. I guess Michael pulled some strings for him and helped him get back into med school. He didn't tell me what he's going to specialize in but he told me that he's going to go to become a doctor. I told him that it was too bad that there wasn't a specialty for wounds caused by supernatural creatures because he'd be an expert at it." you said with a smile. Suddenly there was a knock on your door, you pulled the phone away from your ear to look and stared at it in confusion. Dean was at work, Jack was over at a friend's house for supper and Sam and Eileen were at their new place unpacking as well. "Hey mom I have someone at the door I'll let you go for now." you said.
"Are you sure? You don't need me to stay on with you?" she asked.
"Nah it's fine. All my old hunting stuff's here with me and Jack and Michael are only a prayer away if I need them." you told her.
"Okay if you're sure. I love you Y/N." she said.
"Love you too mom." you replied before hanging up. You grabbed the nearest weapon while slowly moving towards your door. You moved so that it was hidden behind your back before you unlocked the door and slowly opened it up. Your jaw dropped open when you realized that you were staring at Castiel, he was looking down the hallway so he didn't see you bring the weapon out in front of you and he only had a split second to react when he heard it moving through the air. He quickly raised his arm and blocked you from hitting him with the piece of metal rod that you had in your hands, he let out a yelp and moved away from you while holding his arm. "How dare you show up looking like him? I've killed your kind before and I'll do it again!" you yelled raising the rod up to hit him again.
"Y/N stop it's me!" he cried out before grabbing the rod and pulling it out of your hands.
"Liar! Castiel is dead!" you said while lunging for him. He dropped the rod and grabbed a hold of your wrists and pinned you to the wall. You struggled to get out of his grip but to no avail. You turned your head away from him refusing to let the creature see you cry.
"Just do it already. I'd rather be dead than to keep seeing him everywhere. You'll just be doing me a kindness." you whispered. Castiel stared at you in shock before he carefully took his right hand off of your wrist and gently moved a stray hair behind your ear before he gently kissed your temple. You let out a sound of confusion at the show of affection which turned to shock when he started to move down lower. When he got to your collarbone you got your second wind and pushed him away. "Hey! Woah! Woah! Woah! I don't know what you think you're doing but I am not interested in getting involved with a shapeshifter." you said with wide eyes. Castiel rolled his eyes and let out a sigh.
"I guess I'll just have to show you. I didn't think that our reunion would go like this. I thought it would be more romantic." he said as he proceeded to show you that he was the real honest to Michael Castiel.
"What? But how?" you asked surprised.
"Michael brought me back. Originally he wanted to turn me into another archangel since he's God now but I just wanted to come back here and be with you. I asked him to turn me mortal instead which is why I think my arm's swelling up now." he said as the pain finally hit him. You ushered him inside and found something for him to put on the lump on his arm while he explained the whole thing to you. You called Adam to check out the story and as soon as he confirmed that yes this was the honest to Michael Castiel you were talking to you thanked him and Michael and hung up before turning to Castiel and pulling him in for a hug and a long kiss. Once you pulled away he stared at you "Is this how you're going to greet people now?" he asked with a smirk.
"Only the ones I mistakenly think are shifters." you said before pulling him back down for another kiss. After another minute he pulled away and noticing the look of hurt that crossed your face he gave you a reassuring kiss on the forehead.
"If we keep it up we're going to have to go to wherever your bedroom is now and I don't want Jack to walk in on us. I think we've scarred him more than enough times in his short life." he explained and you turned to the clock on the wall and saw that it was a little bit past six at night.
"Jack won't be home until 8. We have plenty of time." you said as you pulled him towards your room thankful that you had put your bed together not too long after you moved in.
-----------------------------------------8pm-----------------------------------------------------
Jack used his keys to get into the apartment, he had a container in one hand that his friend's mom had given him to take home that was full of food for you. He had seen your car parked outside so he knew that you were in the building somewhere. He walked into the kitchen to put the food away just in case when he noticed the pack of ice that had been left on the table that was starting to melt. "Mom? Are you home?" he asked as he put the ice back in the freezer and cleaned up the water puddle that was left behind. When you didn't answer he started to wonder through the apartment looking for you "Mom. I'm home. I brought some food back for you. It's in the fridge." he called out.
He was walking down the hallway that leads to your bedrooms and the bathroom when he heard the sound of your bed squeaking. He stopped and stared at your door while getting ready to attack who or what ever was in the room with you, a second later the door slowly opened and both Jack and Cas let out a scream as Jack jumped on him not realizing who it was that was in the room with you at first. You stood in the doorway trying not to laugh as you saw Jack's face turn from confusion to shock before he looked up at you "He's really back." you said looking down at Cas who was staring up at you like it was your fault that Jack had jumped on him. Jack didn't seem to believe you though, he got off of Castiel and sat on the floor and just stared at him. Castiel sat up and sat in front of Jack for a minute before he smiled at him and reached out towards him.
Jack flinched at first until he felt him gently place his hand on his cheek. Jack looked from the hand that was touching him back to Cas for a few minutes before you saw the tears starting to form and he flung himself into his arm "Dad! How? When?" he asked as he clung to him.
"Your uncle Michael brought me back." Cas explained to him.
"So how long are you here for?" Jack asked while rubbing at his eyes.
"As long as I want. He was going to make me an archangel but I asked him to make me mortal instead. You guys aren't the only ones that were ready to retire." Cas said with a smile.
"So you're a human?" Jack asked, surprised.
"Yeah. I forgot about the not so fun parts. I might have to get your Uncle Raphael to check me out because since I came back I constantly have to go to the bathroom." he said with a shrug. "So anyway tell me about the friends you've made here. Something tells me that I'll be meeting them soon." Cas said with a smile. Jack let out a laugh and proceeded to tell him all about the new friends that he had made and then bragged that he had made them without using his powers at all. You could see the pride on Castiel's face as Jack told him about how he had met and made his new friends, you had already explained a lot of what he had missed in the short amount of time that he had been gone but it could wait for another day. You were just happy to have him back for however long he had left as a mortal man now.
----------------------------------8-Months-Later----------------------------------------------
You sat in the waiting room and watched as Dean paced back and forth. You let out a sigh of exasperation and put your book down. "Dean sit down she isn't going to have the baby any faster if you wear a hole in the floor." you said with a sigh while Jack and Cas let out a chuckle.
"Well how long does it take? I mean this shouldn't be taking this long should it?" he asked while staring at you.
"It could take hours Dean. This is Eileen's first time giving birth. So it's going to take a bit longer." you told him for what felt like the fifth time that hour. Dean was about to say something when Jack sat up straight and lightly tapped Cas on the arm to get his attention. He looked at Jack before turning to look to see what he was looking at and then he sat up straight. Both you and Dean turned to see what they were looking at to see Sam walking down the hallway, his face was red and wet with tears and for a split second you feared the worst until you noticed the smile on his face. He opened the door and showed the four of you to follow him back to the room. The four of you crowded into the room and you stared down at the little baby boy in Eileen's arms. He had short brown hair and big blue eyes, he stared up at the four of you in wonder before he turned his head and looked at Eileen who was smiling down at him. One by one you passed him around and Sam took pictures on his phone before he started to fuss.
"Alright Robert I think it's time for you to go to sleep." Castiel said as he handed the baby back to Eileen. She gently took him back into her arms and soothed him to sleep before her eyes started to close. Sam took the baby from her and placed him in the hospital crib before giving him a kiss on his forehead. After talking for a few more minutes you made your leave and you returned to your apartment while Dean set off for his own home. That night while you and Cas were in bed watching tv you turned to him with a smile.
"Alright. So. Who do you think will be the next one to have a baby?" you asked with a smile.
"Does it matter what the sex of both parties are?" he asked.
"No." you said while shaking your head.
"Adam and Michael might adopt a baby next. I mean Michael is God so it'll be easier for them to adopt one. Who do you think will be next in line?" he asked.
"I don't know. Maybe Claire and Kaia will be the next ones. I mean does Michael even like children?" you asked. You noticed that Castiel had stiffened when you mentioned Claire having a child and you looked up at him with a grin. "What? You don't like the idea of Claire having a baby?" you asked.
"Not really and not for the reason you're thinking. It's just that. Well could you imagine Claire as a mother?" he asked with a grin and you gave him a light smack on his chest.
"Hey. You never know. She might be a great mother. And besides, Kaia will be there to keep her straight. So I don't see why you're so worried." you told him with a smile. In the end Michael and Adam had a baby first, they adopted a little nephilliam that was fathered by one of the angels after they had been killed while out on a mission. The mother had obviously died and her family was either unable or unwilling to take the baby in so Michael stepped in and took the baby home. They named her Kate after Adam's mother and both of them doted on her non stop. Of course you didn't help since you tended to spoil her rotten whenever you went to visit the three of them using the excuse that you were her aunt and that it was your right to spoil her. Adam had just rolled his eyes and walked into the kitchen when you said that.
-----------------------------------Ten-years-later---------------------------------------------
You put the last box down in Jack's apartment and turned to him with a smile on your face. You were trying so hard to act like the fact that he had now moved out and into his own place didn't hurt, you thought that you would be used to it since he had been off at college for eight years but you still felt the same pain you had the day he had gone off. "I think that's the last of it." you told him while looking around. Jack was unpacking some of the boxes that were meant for the living room while Cas moved the ones marked from other rooms into the proper place.
"I think it is. Dad said that after we got all of the boxes in that we could get pizza." he said with a smile. You stared at him for a second before you let out a laugh, of course he would promise fast food.
"Alright I'll order us some." you said, you knew the truth. One of Jack's former friends dropped out of college and apparently he had to get a job at the local pizza shop and well neither Jack or Cas could resist the temptation to taunt him every time they saw him. You dialed the number to the pizza shop and ordered three large two topping pizzas and three two liters and then gave them Jack's new address. The owner of the shop just so happened to be an old hunting buddy of yours so he knew exactly who it was that you wanted him to send out. Once he confirmed that your order would be there in about forty-five minutes to an hour and gave you the price you hung up the phone and counted out your money.
"You know if you keep it up the poor guy's going to quit." you told Jack as you looked up at him. Jack just shrugged and about forty minutes later there was a knock on his door. Before Jack had a chance to answer the door you quickly grabbed your money off of the counter and opened the door making sure that you only opened it enough for you to fit through.
"Hey Mrs. Novak. Here's the pizza and the soda." he said as he handed over the boxes and put the sodas down at the entrance of the doorway. "When did you guys move?" he asked as you handed the boxes off to Castiel and bent down and moved the sodas into the apartment.
"Oh we didn't. This is Jack's new place." you said and you saw him go rigid.
"Jack's here?" he asked.
"Yeah but luckily for you he's busy unpacking so you're in the clear." you said as you handed him the money. "Go ahead and keep the change." you said as he pocketed the money and walked away. You quietly shut the door and put the sodas on the counter right beside where Cas had put the pizzas. He and Jack had already opened theirs up and were sitting on the floor eating their slices off of the paper plates that you had bought. You stuck around another three or four hours before you realized that you had to go home to get ready for work the next day and sadly said your goodbyes to Jack who also had to get ready for his new job.
-------------------------------Forty-years-later-----------------------------------------------
You laid on your hospital bed listening to the soft beeps that came from your machines. You had never thought that this would be the way you went, you had always thought that you would die on a hunt somewhere with the guys by your side either dead themselves or comforting you in your final moments. Instead you were hooked up to several machines for the umpteenth time in your life waiting for a reaper to show up, you slowly opened your eyes and turned your head to look at your loved ones who had gathered to sit with you. Kaia and Claire sat beside you with their son James, it always surprised you how much he looked like his grandfather even more so that Claire had been the one to be willing to go through with the pregnancy. Beside them sat Patience and her husband along with their daughter Missouri, next was them was Alexis who was by herself since her husband couldn't make it along with her twin daughters Jody and Donna. Robert and Kate were out in the hallway talking while Sam, Cas and Gertie had gone out to get food for everyone.
"Sorry we're late. Traffic was a killer." came Jack's voice. You looked over to see Jack and his daughter Kelly standing in the doorway.
"Where's Emily?" you asked gently.
"Joseph wasn't feeling well so she stayed behind." Jack explained while he took the chair closest to you. Kelly sat beside him and gently took your hand.
"How are you feeling grandma?" Kelly asked and you just smiled at her.
"I'm feeling as well as I'm going to be dear." you told her. You saw her glancing off to the side and you turned your head to look to see what it was she was staring at. Even though she was more human than angel she was still able to see certain things and all of you had quickly learned to turn your attention to whatever it was she was looking at. "What are you looking at sweetheart?" you asked her but she shook her head. You knew she was looking out for any reapers that would come for your soul as a way to prepare herself.
"Nothing grandma." she said before looking away from the spot. You gripped her hand as tightly as you could while letting out a sigh. Nothing happened for several hours until you noticed that it was getting harder to breathe and you felt a heaviness on your chest. You laid there in confusion until you felt a hand gently touch your shoulder and you looked over to see a young woman standing beside you.
"Who are you?" you asked confused.
"I think you know." she said in a whisper. Before you could ask her anything else the machines around you started to go off and you realized that the tiredness and weariness you had been feeling for years was gone. You sat up and realized that every ache and pain you had felt through the years was gone and your skin was smooth once again, you stared at your hands and arms in amazement before you turned and looked to see your body behind you. You flinched away in fright before the reaper gently placed her hands on either side of you.
"It's alright. Everyone freaks out when they find out. Come. You have so many people that are waiting for you." she said before holding her hand out. You looked down at it before taking it and letting her assist you out of the bed. You gave one final look at your earthly remains before you followed her to your fate.
---------------------------------------In-Heaven-----------------------------------------------
You stared at the wide open space in front of you, according to the reaper Michael had torn the walls down with assistance from his brothers and Jack years ago. Now everyone could go into each other's Heavens and you could see people you might not have been able to see if you weren't soulmates. You walked down the driveway of what was apparently your new house, it looked like you had always dreamed it would look. You were still unsure until you noticed four figures sitting on your porch. You stopped and stared at them not wanting to believe that they were there. Eileen was the first one to see you, she let out a shout of excitement and she ran down the porch to embrace you.
You heard Sam and Dean gently put their drinks down and they got off of the porch to embrace you as well, they stared at you for a few seconds before they all backed away and the one person you had been waiting five years to see again walked up. He looked so much younger than you remembered and then you realized that it was because he had gone back to how he looked when he first took over Jimmy Novak. You ran up the steps and onto the porch and let out a sigh of relief when you felt his arms wrap around you again. "I missed you so much." Castiel whispered in your ear. You pulled away enough to look up into his face, you let out a gasp of surprise when you saw how bright his blue eyes were once again. You couldn't remember the last time they had looked as lively as they did at that moment, his lips were on yours before you even realized it but you quickly recovered and kissed him back while Sam, Dean and Eileen stood off to the side.
Eventually the two of you moved so that you were an arm's length away and Cas turned you back towards the end of the driveway "Come on. Let's go see everyone else. They've all been waiting so long for you to arrive." he said and you realized that on your way up the driveway you had completely walked past the impala. Dean was already making his way down towards and Sam and Eileen were happily walking down the driveway a few feet behind him. You walked beside Cas who never took his arm from around you while the two of you walked to the impala like you had done thousands of times before and would do a thousand more times now.

okay i know in the grand scheme of things it’s been about 5 minutes since i got into spn and about 4.5 seconds since i started following spn blogs on tumblr but i just want 2 share some stuff re: what i would have liked to happen in my ideal ending. spoilers below.
number 1, sam and eileen endgame. after losing her in 15x18 and trying so hard to hold it together, sam’s quite obviously devvo’d. man’s a mess but he can’t let himself fall apart. 15x19 happens and everyone chuck disintegrated faster than communion wafers comes back and the FIRST thing sam does? calls eileen. high tails it out of there. speed limits who? there’s a heartwarming moment. maybe an ‘i love you’ or maybe not but it’s touching and heart wrenching and everyone cries and it’s nice. there you go, sam winchester. not only did you help save the world, but you got a happy ending in the process. eileen moves into the mol bunker. don’t @ me. she’s also great with miracle. and, in the long run, kids.
number 2, deancas. my whole thing is, if they didn’t want canon deancas ending, why have cas confess? like i get the empty deal and i understand ‘happiness isn’t in the having, it’s in just being. it’s in just saying it’ but... if u didn’t want people to swarm on the possibility of deancas... why include it at all? especially for it to never be mentioned again. for cas, a man/angel/being of celestial intent that had spent like... 12(?) years at this point in sam and dean’s lives. you’re gonna tell me they just... let him sacrifice himself and then dip? ok. seems we have been watching different shows. or the same show from different perspectives. so, hear me out. dean says it back. maybe not in as many words or he pulls a hans solo ‘i know’. okay so they beat the shit out of The Literal Abrahamic God later to supercharge jack faster than shotgunning three monster energy mango locos ever could and leave chuck belly up in the mud like the invertebrate he proved himself to be and jack is Thee God now and dean just straight up asks. give that to me. give me the “please, jack.” and dean, so close to breaking, holding himself together with nothing but pure strength of will and residual adrenaline. give me jack’s reluctance, give me his admission of not wanting to mutate into the same megalomaniac chuck proved himself to be,using the winchesters as chess pieces in his own game. give me his humanity. the parts he inherited from kelly. give me his humanity and his grief and his loss and—castiel was his father, for fucks sake! he lost a father and a mother and he’s about to lose the only family he ever had. yes, he’ll be omnipresent—a perk of the job—but he’ll never be there in the way they want. so let him do this. there’s like a whole genesis parallel, you know all ‘the lord said let there be light, and there was light’ only not as on the nose as that. jack’s one selfish act before he himself, combined with amara, ascends. he does his whole speech. i’ll be in every drop of falling rain etc etc and then he dips. only, he’s gone and when dean turns around. cas is there. boom.
there’s no kiss. no explicit ‘hello look at this confirmed gay angel and his human hunter ??sexual friend making out’ because that too much too fast. dean has spent the past 15 seasons trying to unfuck himself from the damage john winchester left behind (the nun hunt on his 17th birthday? lebanon? i will meet john winchester in the pit.) and as close as he is to finally just allowing himself to be himself, he’s not quite there yet. but the relief on his face. the—i’m gonna say it—love in his expression. cas’s confession clearly affected him, just look at 15x18. maybe dean doesn’t know what that means yet. maybe he does. but there’s a hug. an embrace. one of those that says ‘i don’t know why or how i like you, fruity little angel man, but i do and i’m not letting go’. it lasts a beat too long. maybe there’s tears. i’ll leave that up to jackles jacting joices.
number 3, michael sacrifices himself to save adam. OKAY SO THE WHOLE MICHAEL STORYLINE IN 15x19? BULLSHIT. especially with the adamichael scene in 15x08? where it is canonically confirmed that, after spending a real life decade (which is OVER ONE THOUSAND YEARS in hell time. 4 months = 40 years so 10 years or 120 months = 1200 years) trapped in the cage together, they became friends and shared control of the vessel. michael considered adam his guide on earth. michael. MICHAEL. M I C H A E L. seeing how spn painted him as one of, if not, THE most powerful and fearsome angel? man’s whipped. and then he loses adam when chuck has his thanos snap moment. imagine sharing a vessel with someone for twelve. hundred. years. and then being completely alone in a world you don’t know. how maddening for there to be only silence in your head. the fact that they then rammed this bs of him being jealous of lucifer for being ‘daddy’s favourite’ was exactly that. bullshit. no no no, my friends. michael was playing his own game; crossing the winchesters for chuck but actually, crossing chuck for his own gain. he learns of the winchesters plan to utilise the fact that jack is the power hungry equivalent of a shamwow and uses that to his own gain. i haven’t figured out the particulars but when chuck beats the shit out of michael, he kills the angel but leaves the vessel (think like jack at the end of s14). michael the winchesters think michael died a snivelling god fearing soldier. and then, when jack does his whole thing, up wakes adam. the winchesters take him in and explain what went down when he, you know. and adam lets them know that no, michaels not like that etc etc he did it for me etc he did it to save me. michael’s fall was imperative to the destruction of god. and, for that, he will always be remembered. adam’s not a hunter, but he stays at the bunker anyway. he has nowhere else to go.
number 4, episode 15x20. what do you mean dean and sam both die? not in this universe i carry inside my head they don’t! this episode is just a bunch of scenes from throughout the years. you might think it boring but i think it’s great and this is my post so u can’t tell me what 2 do. dean opens up a bar for hunters a la 14x10 and has pictures on all the walls of all the fallen hunters and friends that have helped them throughout the years. you want a picture on the wall for a friend you lost? sure! just bring a photo and tack it on up there. out of sight, kept to the wall of the office, they keep pictures of the non-humans that helped. it’s private. a reminder. sam and eileen stop by a couple times a week if they can. jody and donna make the rounds with the girls too if work allows. or they come on their own. the girls are old enough to take care of themselves now. claire pops in when she can, always bringing a present for cas (despite him reprimanding her for doing so) and dean is always happy to see her. she doesn’t text enough.
sam sets up the bunker as a base for hunters again, trying to get a system up and running like before where hunters can check in and get help and use the weapons and resources they have for cases.
they don’t deal with heaven anymore. they haven’t seen jack since he disappeared but they also haven’t had any angel troubles either. maybe it’s because there are so few. castiel helps a lot as he still has his grace—although he’s still unable to teleport and he seems to be aging, trapped in some kind of space between. not angel and not human and definitely not nephilim. he’s powerful and powerless at the same time. he doesn’t complain about this, knowing what it means. it’s a kindness.
rowena is also on side, mostly, although she has her own gain in mind always. they have the stray demon that pops up every now and again but she– uh... prefers to make an example of them using her own methods. sam has learned not to question it. she teases him incessantly, as usual.
also, stay at home dad sam. eileen jumps back into hunting. they’ve had conversations—arguments—about it before. he doesn’t want to turn into his father, driven mad chasing mary’s ghost if something were to happen. she refuses to even entertain the thought of that. yelling “you are a lot of things, sam winchester. your father is not one of them.” and at the end of the day, there’s a mutual trust there and he knows she won’t put herself in unnecessary risk, and he 100% roped dean in to jumping on as backup if and when she needs it. the kid(s) are raised love and cherished and surrounded by family. sam also learns how to sign one handed with a baby on his hip. it’s adorable.
anyway we never have to find out about heaven because no one dies thank you for coming to my ted talk.

OKAY I HAD TIME TO THINK ABOUT THESE (thanks you for making this ask game BTW!)
3. What's a scene that you think is underrated?
- 4x19: Adam's funeral and the comment about Sam becoming John (which he takes as a compliment when Dean clearly doesn't). This ep is probably the closest they get to discussing their Daddy issues tbh.
- 8x08: Sam & Cas in the cartoon world, where Sam gives the speech about not running away from problems anymore that motivates Cas to do the same (feel like it gets ignored over the Deancas scenes)
- 8x19 Dean meeting Naomi. THE most twisted villain, the amount of damage she did caused with "I admire your loyalty, I only wish he felt the same"
- 12x10 ending w/ Dean & Sam tell Castiel how much they appreciate him! I love the bickering in this ep but am such a hoe for them just TALKING OUT their issues.
12. Rank the eras and opinions on it (1-5/6-7/8-11/12-15)?
Before I go into it my season-by-season rank is 4, 5, 8, 1, 2, 3, 12 11, 13, 9, 15, 6, 7, 14, 10
1. 1-5: TIGHTLY written, every ep and conflict felt like they mattered and would pay off (and usually did), character and family dynamic development that always felt grounded/realistic. Cons are the misgoyny, racism and homophobia (def don't miss the only female characters being Innocent Mom, Evil Skank or Girl With Knife) but that's the 2000s baby
2. 12-S15: Love the overall tone and the show expanding to include more hunters, allies, universes, etc. Sadly these seasons would introduce the most INTERESTING and COMPELLING concepts...only to do little to nothing with them. Wayward Sisters, Empty, Banes twins, Witch!Sam, apocalypse hunters, death of the author, and (obvs) Dean/Cas. Even Jack! All his relationships were more tell than show, never fully developed on-screen. ESPECIALLY him and Cas! They have 2-3 whole scenes together in S13. Jack's born, but Cas is dead. Cas returns, but Jack leaves. They find Jack, but Cas was kidnapped and then Jack gets trapped. The show just kept following Dean and Sam from crisis to crisis with little room to breathe. The era is so cool in theory and a great playground for fanon, but...ugh.
3. 8-11: Some of THE dumbest writing decisions happen this era, usually to cause manpain or brother drama. But Carver did reign things in a bit with more overarching plots and storylines again, especially in S8 and S11. The trials! Rowena and Crowley! Re-introduction of Chuck! Purgatory! Cas and Claire! Jody and Donna! Sam's "God" visions! The Baby episode! Also nostalgic because this was when I finally got internet access and joined the fandom.
4. 6-7: Besides having a few of my fave eps (Death's Door, Man Who Would Be King, etc.) mostly unmemorable and all over the place. Like, you can TELL they didn't have any idea what to so once they ended the Kripke arc and threw anything and everything at the wall to see what stuck. Resurrected grandpa? Sure! Cas is evil now? Cool! Ancient monsters that can be killed by cleaning supplies? Why not? Wait, we need Dean and Sam drama...right, let's make up a childhood friend Sam has never mentioned for Dean to kill! And give Dean a Reneesmee monster daughter for Sam to kill! We're so good at writing!
23. What are some lores/world building that you love from Post s5?
- The morality of monsters and bad guys. We got redeemed vampires (Benny), witches (Rowena), demons (Crowley), werewolves (Garth), nephilims (Jack), etc. The MOWs are inconsistent but SO GOOD when they take this route. One of my faves is the Shapeshifter in 13x04 who becomes a Grief Counselor to use her abilities to help people
- Purgatory! Love the vibes, the every-man-for-himself energy, how harsh it feels
- The Trials! These crazy stakes! Prophets! Sealing the gates of hell! Angels falling!
- Apocalyse World! Again, the VIBES! Michael vs. Lucifer is supposed feel so world-ending. So to see a world DEVASTATED by their war? Insane! And Apocalypse!Michael was a cool villain, very strategic and focused, knowing what alliances to make and how to make the situation work in his favor
24. What are some lores/world building that you love from s1-5?
- The angels: so cool before they got nerf'd. Perfect soldiers, orders from above, varying levels of cynical, too powerful to be seen by eyes, SMITING! I miss the smiting.
- THE SEALS! I wish we saw more of them but the creativity! The stakes! And Lilith being the final seal remains one of THE best twists!
- The Trickster! I love Gabe as an archangel too, but do miss him messing with the Winchesters to teach 'em a lesson
- Special Children! All of these powerful lonely people who've been weird all their life, thrown into a hunger games where they either kill or survive! So crazy.

The Beach Episode
“That’s just about everything,” Gabriel said, putting his hands on his hips as he looked out at the beach that had never been discovered by anyone before. He’d set up a few umbrellas as well as a picnic table with Sam earlier in the day and now they were just waiting on the others to arrive.
“It looks great, Gabe,” Sam smiled weakly before taking a deep breath, “I want everything to be perfect for Jack today, y’know?”
“No pressure, right?” Gabriel winked at him.
“You know what I mean,” Sam sighed, “It’s just...things have been weird, with everything happening. I want to make things up to Jack.”
“That’s not your job, Samoose,” Gabriel gave him a sympathetic smile, “You’re not the one who has the most making up to do.”
“He’s trying,” Sam explained, “That’s part of today, he’s going to try, he’s not going to drink, and he’s going to have a good time. We’re all going to have a good time.”
“Whatever you say,” Gabriel said, grabbing his hand and kissing it, “Let’s just...not get our hopes too high, okay? I know this is what you want, but all of us in one place…” he trailed off, “Hasn’t worked out the best in the past.”
“Never hurts to try,” Sam shrugged.
Gabriel just continued to smile sympathetically at him until the familiar sound of wings came through the air.
“Sam! Uncle Gabriel! Hello!” Jack said cheerfully.
When Sam looked up, Jack was standing with Michael, Adam, and Raphael, wearing a pair of plastic sunglasses that had neon green rims.
“We brought pie,” Raphael offered after a beat of silence, awkwardly holding out the circular pan, “Adam made it from items he grew in his garden. Why are you all so irritating? I like him just fine.”
Sam gave them a tight smile, taking the pan, “Thanks, guys,” he turned his attention to Jack, ignoring the comment, “How’s it going, Jack?”
“Good,” Jack grinned, “I am starting school this Fall, we all decided. I am very excited.”
“That’s...that’s great,” Sam smiled at him, “As long as everything goes according to plan…”
“Jack wants to go to school, so he’s going,” Adam said simply, “Regardless of what happens.”
Sam took a deep breath and gave him a tight smile, “Of course, whatever Jack wants.”
“Where are the others?” Adam changed the subject.
“You guys are the first ones here,” Sam shrugged, “Gabe and I came here to set up early since the place was essentially never discovered by humanity. We cleaned it up a bit.”
“Thanks for that,” Adam said simply, putting down the food as well as a bag, “Jack, make sure you put on sunscreen again soon, please.”
Jack nodded and sat down in the sand, grabbing Michael’s arm and pulling him down with him, “I’m going to teach Uncle Michael how to build a sandcastle.”
“Sounds great, bud,” Adam said simply, sitting down at the picnic table beside Raphael.
“Go talk to him,” Gabriel told Sam quietly, “Trust me, Raph isn’t much of a conversation starter, they’re just gonna sit there in silence.”
“There’s not much to talk about,” Sam swallowed.
“Never hurts to try,” Gabriel gave him a weak smirk, repeating his earlier words.
Sam just sighed again, smiling slightly at him before walking over.
Jack glanced up as Sam walked over to Adam and bumped Michael slightly.
Michael glanced up as well and cleared his throat, “Raphael, would you like to join us?”
The archangel squinted in confusion, “Why?”
“Because we need to spend time with Jack,” Michael said simply, “And I am asking you to.”
Raphael simply sighed and they walked over, sitting down in the sand and wrinkling their nose as they did, “I do not enjoy this,” they said immediately.
Sam sat down across from Adam, “Hey,” he said awkwardly, “How have...things been? We haven’t seen you since we came over to check out the house.”
“Fine,” Adam said, “I have a job at an antique shop in town. Jack wants to sell some of the stuff we grow in our garden, so Michael is helping him build a little stand.”
Sam nodded slowly, “Uh...so, there’s a thing going around...that you and Michael are expecting a kid?”
“Yes,” Adam deadpanned, “Is that going to be a problem?”
“What? No,” Sam said quickly, “I mean, we’d like to know if we’re gonna be uncles, y’know? We’re happy for you.”
“I’m sure you are,” Adam sighed, looking down at his phone and playing with it absentmindedly, despite there definitely not being any signal on the beach they were on.
“We’ll keep you and your kid safe from all of this,” Sam told him firmly.
“I don’t need you to,” Adam told him, “I genuinely don’t. I can take care of myself and even if I couldn’t, Michael is the first ever archangel. He’s powerful. I don’t need you to protect my child when we’re both very capable. I definitely don’t need Dean around my kid either.”
“Dean isn’t a bad guy, Adam,” Sam sighed, “We both made mistakes with Jack, we’re dealing with that and trying to make up for it.”
“You went along with it because he’s your big brother and he’s all you’ve ever known as a caretaker,” Adam snapped, “It’s definitely not healthy, but I understand you. Dean has treated Jack like shit since the beginning.”
“Don’t...do that. Don’t psychoanalyze us like you’re…” Sam trailed off, “Act human, dude. You’re not a robot.”
“I’m not though,” Adam sighed, “Sam...I spent over a thousand years with Michael and Lucifer. Things happen. I’m not human anymore. I don’t...one hundred percent know what I am, but it’s not human. I’m not saying I’m above you, I’m just saying...things get put into perspective when you have that long to think. The idea of petty drama and dealing with human bullshit is just nothing to me anymore.”
Sam watched him curiously, not sure what to say.
“I spent over a thousand years in Hell, Sam,” Adam sighed, “I don’t know what you want from me. I can’t bring myself to care about things that don’t matter to me anymore. Jack is my nephew, he was in a bad situation because of Dean, and now he’s not. Jack doesn’t have to forgive you guys, just like I don’t have to forgive any of you for letting me rot in Hell for all that time,” he stood up, “I came here today to spend time with my nephew, not debate my emotions with you.”
What emotions? Sam wanted to say, but stopped himself.
Dean probably wouldn’t have been so kind.
“I guess you were right though...we wanted to take Jack away from you, we just didn’t know it at the time,” Adam said simply before walking over and sitting down with the archangels and Jack in the sand.
“I’m guessing that didn’t go well?” Gabriel asked, walking over and sitting down beside him.
“Does it ever with him?” Sam mumbled.
“No, but if your boyfriend was an extreme optimist, would you tell him that?” Gabriel asked.
Before Sam could say anything else, the others appeared.
“This is awesome,” Charlie grinned, “We’re, like, the first people ever to be here, right?”
“That’s true,” Gabriel said, “Completely undiscovered by humanity; cool, right?”
“Definitely,” Kevin smiled.
“Sixty five percent of earth is still undiscovered by humanity, it’s not surprising,” Samandriel deadpanned.
Kevin just rolled his eyes, “C’mon, man, let’s get in the water.”
“Why?” Samandriel looked confused as he was drug over to the shoreline.
“Socially inept angels plus one beach day,” Dean walked over to Sam and Gabriel, “Entertaining, at least,” he said, looking confused when he saw the two archangels attempting to build a sandcastle with Jack and Adam’s help. He gestured to them, making Sam laugh.
“So,” Gabriel grinned as Benny, Balthazar, and Castiel all sat down with them, “Are we going to start a betting pool on how long it’ll take Heaven’s Most Adorable Angel and Heaven’s Most Adorable Prophet to get together?”
“Well, unless they’re like Charlie and refuse to make a move, probably soon- OW!” Dean groaned when Charlie threw a frisbee at the back of his head, “Hey!”
“Zip it,” Charlie told him immediately, “And come play frisbee with us.”
“I want to play!” Jack got up quickly.
Michael and Raphael sighed in relief, getting up from the sand almost in-sync and dusting themselves off, making Adam laugh.
Dean hesitated when Jack ran over and Sam shoved him lightly.
“Go,” the younger Winchester mumbled, giving him a look.
Dean sighed and grabbed the frisbee from where it landed beside him, rubbing the back of his head, “Nice aim,” he said, going to throw it back just as hard, but Charlie caught it with a smirk.
“Nice try,” Charlie said, tossing the frisbee gently to Jack, who fumbled to catch it.
…
“I don’t see the point,” Samandriel mumbled, “I thought we were busy fighting Father.”
“We are,” Kevin explained, “But...it’s important for us to relax too, especially Jack, he’s just a kid.”
Samandriel nodded slowly, looking down at his vessel’s feet in the water, tilting his head, “I find this very enjoyable, I’m surprised.”
“Yeah, free will does that to you,” Kevin laughed, reaching down and picking up a seashell, “Here...a souvenir for your first beach day.”
Samandriel took the shell, looking down at it in the palm of his hand, a small smile on his face.
…
“Yeah, I give it a week,” Gabriel smirked, looking over at Kevin and Samandriel, “Charlie, you need to catch up- OW!” he groaned when she threw the frisbee again.
“That didn’t even hurt you, don’t be a baby,” Balthazar snorted as Gabriel threw the frisbee back to the group.
“So,” Gabriel said, looking at Cas and Balthazar, “How’s it going with you two lovebirds?”
Cas glared at him, “I have explained this many times, we are not romantically involved. Platonic love is extremely valid.”
“You’ve been hanging around Adam too much,” Gabriel rolled his eyes.
Cas narrowed his eyes at him.
“Dude, you need to put on sunscreen,” Sam called to Dean.
Dean rolled his eyes, “I’ll be fine.”
Sam scoffed, “Whatever, your funeral, man.”
…
“Would you like to go for a walk?” Jack asked Dean once he tossed the frisbee to Dorothy.
Dean stared at him, “You sure that’s a good idea, kid?”
“I don’t need permission to go for a walk with a member of my family,” Jack said bluntly, “Or anything for that matter. I just need to let them know that we’re going, if you want to go.”
Dean nodded slowly, not sure what to say.
Jack walked over to where Adam and Michael were with Raphael and talked to them briefly. He turned back around and quickly walked over to Dean, “C’mon, I want to explore this place.”
Dean followed him, shock written all over his face.
“This is very cool,” Jack said casually as they walked through the woods, “I wonder if we’ll find a snake…” he trailed off, leaning down to grab some of the flowers.
Dean sighed, “Jack,” he cleared his throat, “Hey, buddy, we gotta talk eventually.”
I am aware,” Jack sighed, standing back up and messing with the flowers he’d picked absentmindedly, refusing to make eye contact with him.
“There isn’t...a single excuse good enough for how I treated you,” Dean told him, “It was bad and it was wrong...no kid should be treated like that, ever, no matter what’s happened.”
“No matter what I’ve done?” Jack whispered, still looking down at the flowers.
“No matter what,” Dean shook his head, “I’m sorry I blamed you for stuff you couldn’t have controlled or the mistakes you made. I want to make it up to you...whatever way you’re okay with. We’re family, you’re a Winchester, and I’m sorry I didn’t treat you that way.”
Jack finally looked up at him and smiled weakly, “Thank you, Dean,” he told him, “I am happy living where I am, but...I miss you all very much, despite everything. I want us to be a family again.”
“I want that too,” Dean said before pulling him into a tight hug.
Jack hugged him back just as tight.
…
Samandriel came over to the table and sat down across from Castiel, surprising most of the people sitting there.
“Uh, Alfie, hey-” Sam started.
“I do not blame you for what happened to me,” Samandriel said firmly, “I think that most of the people here understand what it’s like to be under Heaven’s control. I would like you to please stop ignoring me now because I always wanted to get to know you and you acting like I do not exist out of guilt is very annoying.”
Silence.
Balthazar laughed in shock, “Well, free will certainly agrees with someone.”
“I...am sorry,” Cas cleared his throat, “You’re right. It was wrong of me to ignore you.”
Samandriel smiled, “Okay, thank you. I forgive you. Now, Kevin gave me this seashell and is very nice to me, it makes me feel odd. What does that mean?”
Balthazar burst out laughing.
…
Adam had his head ducked down, talking to Michael away from the rest of the group when Dean and Jack came back.
“You two are having a kid?” Dean asked bluntly as they walked over.
“Yes,” Adam crossed his arms then wrinkled his nose, “Your skin is red, you’re going to get a sunburn, just listen to Sam and put the sunscreen on.”
“You didn’t think to tell us?” Dean asked, ignoring the other comment, “We’re going to be uncles, it’s something to celebrate.”
“No,” Adam deadpanned, “It’s none of your business. What isn’t processing here?”
“We’re a family,” Jack spoke up, “I understand that you do not like Dean, but he is my family. I wanted to share my joy about having a new family member soon, so I told him.”
Adam took a deep breath and smiled at Jack, “You’re right, Jack...I’m sorry for snapping. Yes, Dean, we’re having a child.”
“Think this is a good time for that?” Dean asked.
“I doubt it’ll ever be the perfect time,” Adam said, taking Michael’s hand, “But it’s what we’re doing. Either support it or don’t, I don’t really care.”
Dean cleared his throat and nodded stiffly, “Of course we’ll support it...kid’s gotta know their uncles, right?”
“Not really,” Michael mumbled.
“Well,” Gabriel said, throwing his arms around Michael and Adam’s shoulders and squeezing between them, “Personally, I’m happy the little nephilim is out of the bag, now we can get down to the serious celebrating!”
“Can he even drink while he’s carrying?” Dean smirked.
Adam rolled his eyes, “Neither of us are carrying, asshole.”
…
“That was such a good idea,” Dorothy commented as they put stuff away in the storage room, “I haven’t felt this relaxed since we got back here,” she laughed weakly.
“Yeah, that tends to happen around Sam and Dean,” Charlie explained, “Trust me, I love them, they’re basically my family...but their lives are exhausting.”
“What are your plans for after this?” Dorothy asked suddenly.
Charlie looked at her and raised an eyebrow, “After?”
“I mean...after the whole...defeating God thing, y’know?” Dorothy asked.
“Oh,” Charlie sighed, “I don’t know. I’ve never really thought that far ahead, we’ve been so busy. I guess I might go back to hunting? I was pretty good at that.”
“I can’t think of anything I want to do,” Dorothy mumbled, “I’ve been so focused on Oz the last few years, it’s been so busy. Now it’s basically self-sufficient and I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do with myself,” she admitted, “This isn’t my world, it hasn’t been for a really long time.”
Charlie put a hand on her arm, “Hey, you always have us. We’re always going to be here.”
Dorothy smiled weakly, “I appreciate that...having you...I mean...all of you,” she sighed, looking up at the ceiling.
Charlie smiled at her for a moment.
Dorothy rolled her eyes, “Okay, this is getting exhausting,” she said before leaning down and kissing her.
…
“Jack seemed like he’s doing good,” Dean said awkwardly as they sat in the kitchen.
“Yeah,” Cas sighed, his voice small and quiet, “He does. He deserves to have that kind of life, where he’s happy,” he swallowed, “Even if it isn’t with us.”
Dean sighed, “He’ll be back one day...said he wants us all to be a family again.”
“The house is a better place for him to live a life, not the bunker,” Cas cleared his throat, “And no, Dean, that’s not me taking Adam’s side, it’s me taking Jack’s.”
Dean scrubbed his face with his hands, “I wasn’t going to say that. I’m trying here, okay?”
“I know,” Cas nodded, looking down at his hands.
“Cas…” Dean trailed off.
“I am not with Balthazar,” Cas said quietly, “That is in the past. I love him, I always will, but it is a platonic love now.”
“Why are you telling me that?” Dean asked.
“I just...wanted you to know,” Cas told him, “Because everyone is thinking about their future, about what they want after all of this is over,” he stood up, “I am going to go make sure Jack made it home okay,” he said before disappearing right in front of Dean’s eyes.
Dean stared at the spot he’d disappeared from and sighed, “What the hell?”

Link to Chapter 10
Pairings: Gabriel x Reader
_________
Sam and Dean sat quietly watching Gabriel scowl angrily at the ground. After a few moments, Dean put down his glass of whiskey and sat down across from Gabriel.
“I want you to level with me. How did it begin with Y/n? As her brother, I deserve to know.”
Gabriel’s golden eyes rolled to the eldest Winchester.
“We’ve already told you. We are soulmates. That is what you should know.”
Dean rolled his eyes. He wasn’t about to let this go. He knew that he was going to find out somethings that he didn’t want to know but oh well.
“Yeah. We got the memo. I want to know how this began...the actual relationship part. You owe me that much.”
Gabriel kept his attention locked on Dean for a few moments. He finally relented and began to speak.
“My father, before he left, told me that I would fall in love with a human. I thought that he had gone mad. After spending thousands and thousands of years saying how human and angel relations were wrong now I was to fall in love with one? Confused was putting my feelings lightly. He didn’t talk to me anymore about it. When he left, that was when some other angels got in trouble for falling in love with humans. It didn’t go over well...as you can imagine. I put it out of my mind until I saw your sister for the first time. She was only a baby then but something was different about here. There was a pull that I couldn’t get away from. I wanted nothing more than to protect her from whatever disaster came her way. In case you didn’t know, your sister is a handful…”
Dean snorted.
“Yeah, I’m aware.”
Gabriel smirked. He didn’t care if you were a handful. You were his. Gabriel smiled at the thought. It didn’t matter that Gabriel was nearly freaking out because he couldn’t sense you. He figured that was due to Jack keeping you hidden from other angels. Gabriel made a mental note to thank Jack for keeping you safe (that was after he made sure that you were in one safe piece, of course).
“I didn’t realize that I loved her until I actually met her. That’s been a little over a year ago…”
Gabriel let his mind go back to that particular day…
Gabriel had been listening to Michael and Raphael discuss their “we hate humans and they are a waste of space” topic that seemed to be a regular occurrence. They didn’t bother including Gabriel in that conversation because they knew that he wouldn’t participate.
<i>Gabriel sat watching you from his hidden place in heaven. He smiled watching your interactions with other humans. You had grown up. No longer were you the small child that literally scared Gabriel to death! He was no longer having to sneak to earth to heal your injuries accrued from crazy accidents. Gabriel was still trying to figure out what possessed you to jump off the porch with Adam at 5 years old resulting in a broken arm. Now all Gabriel had to worry about was your decision to become a hunter.
You had been on a solo hunt for the past week that was making Gabriel nervous. He didn’t understand why Sam and Dean didn’t go with you. While he didn’t exactly care for your older brothers, he was at least thankful that they helped keep an eye on you when he wasn’t able to. Maybe if he ever met them, he could thank them in person.
This hunt had taken a lot out of Gabriel. There had been multiple times where he had to step in a shoo a demon in the opposite direction. At this particular moment, Gabriel had gotten himself to earth. After seeing five demons head in your direction, Gabriel couldn’t wait any longer!
You stood in a hallway of an abandoned factory when the demons closed in. Gabriel stood in the shadows as one of the demons knocked you to the ground.
“Stupid Winchester. You shouldn’t have come alone. It's your fatal mistake though.”
You struggled with the blindfold that one of the demons had put over your eyes. The last thing that you were able to see was Gabriel step into the room.
“Having fun?”
Gabriel asked. All five of the demons spun around. They were clearly stunned as hell to see the archangel behind them.
“Oh shit!”
One muttered. Another one backed away.
“I am not about to tangle with an archangel!”
One of the others rolled their beady little eyes.
“Oh come on! It's just one archangel and there are five of us! We could take him.”
Gabriel looked between the demons with an amused smile.
“Just so you all know, I killed a bunch of your little friends. Finishing you all off will be no issue.”
The first demon was shaking their head.
“No, we should go.”
The cocky one gave his friend a glare.
“Are you really scared of him?”
Gabriel stood while the five stood arguing between each other. After finally having enough, Gabriel snapped his fingers ending the demon's lives. He turned his attention back to you. You sat in the corner struggling with the blindfold.
Kneeling down in front of you, Gabriel reached out and slowly removed the blindfold. The moment that your bright green eyes met his, Gabriel felt every fiber in his being begin to go crazy! His father’s words about falling in love with a human came flooding back as your eyes widened.
“Are you going to try to hurt me too?”
Gabriel shook his head as he leaned back on his heels. He didn’t move to get closer or move away. The arms-length between the two of you was enough. As much as Gabriel wanted to reach out to you he didn’t. Touching a human seemed so wrong! He wasn’t ready for the physical aspect yet.
“No. I’m not going to hurt you, Y/n.”
You frowned, clearly confused at how he knew your name.
“How do you know me?”
Gabriel smiled, slightly.
“I know everything about you.”
Without realizing that he did it, Gabriel’s eyes glowed bright gold. Your eyes widened, but to Gabriel’s surprise, you didn’t move away.
“You’re an angel.”
Gabriel stood up. Now it was time to move away from you. You didn’t move to get up for a moment as Gabriel nodded.
“Guilty. You know my brother, Castiel.”
He said with a small coy smile. You nodded as Gabriel walked to you and held out a hand. The moment that your hand touched his; the two of you froze. Both of you looked at your intertwined hands as the feeling of electricity went through the two of you.
“What was that?”
You asked. Gabriel knew but he wasn’t about to tell you. The last thing that he wanted to do was throw away all of the years that he had spent watching and protecting you!
“No idea.”
He said before gently pulling you to your feet. Gabriel gave you a small smile before turning to walk away.
“Hey wait!”
Your voice stopped him. Gabriel didn’t turn to face you right away. The fact that he knew for a fact now that the bond was 100% was a lot of action for one day!
“Yes?”
Gabriel questioned, softly. He could hear your steps behind him as well as your heart rate increasing.
“You never told me your name.”
Gabriel turned.
“Does it matter?”
You smiled, clearly trying to ease the tension. Gabriel knew that you were comfortable around angels. You probably sensed his unease around humans.
“You saved my life.”
Gabriel shrugged.
“Angel here...goes with the territory. You’re welcome.”
You giggled. Gabriel was automatically in love with the sound of your laughter. He could listen to that for the rest of forever!
“My name is Y/n Winchester. I am a hunter but I’m not going to hurt you. I think that it would be a little douchy to hurt someone after they saved your life. Look, I get that you are really uncomfy around humans but….I’m different.”
Gabriel smiled again.
“I know. I’m Gabriel.”
“The archangel?”
You questioned. Gabriel nodded.
“At your service. So, why are you out here hunting alone and what did those trashy demons want with you?”
You chuckled. He could read your thoughts. You wanted to reach out and touch him.
“Maybe because of who I am?”
Gabriel smirked.
“That was a dumb question on my part. Stay safe, pretty girl.”
You stepped forward and held out your hand.
“Do you have to go?”
The two of you spent the next two hours sitting on the floor of the factory talking. Gabriel was surprised at how easily the conversation between the two of you flowed. Again, Gabriel could spend the rest of forever just sitting in his room with you.
“Do I get to see you again?”
You asked after a while. Gabriel tried to fight the look of surprise on his face.
“Do you want to?”
You didn’t hesitate for a moment before quickly saying yes.</i>
Gabriel pulled himself from the memory before looking back to Dean.
“And that was how it happened.”
Dean leaned back.
“Well, I’ll give you this. You saved her life. I can’t thank you enough for that. I may not have liked you in the beginning.”
Gabriel smirked.
“You threatened to stab me in the chest with an archangel blade but we’re square.”
Dean laughed.
“I would like to say that is a Winchester greeting. Look, I am going to give you a heads up. Adam is back and he isn’t happy with Y/n being with you. I have to ask you to please not vaporize my other brother.”
Gabriel leaned back against the couch.
“Do you think that he is going to try to talk Y/n out of being with me?”
Dean nodded.
“Without a doubt but Y/n does what she wants. If Y/n wasn’t in love with you she would have never spent the past few months trying to fix you.”
Dean’s comment was enough to make Gabriel feel better. Gabriel had to agree with the eldest Winchester on one thing. If you didn’t want to do something there was no way in hell that you were going to do it!
Before Gabriel could agree to not turn Adam into a pile of goo, the door opened. Gabriel jumped up immediately smelling your scent.
“Y/n, wait! I think you should approach this slowly!”
Jack’s voice said calmly. Gabriel could hear each of your feet hitting every stair.
“I can’t wait, Jack. I need to if I need to deep fry an archangel or not. If Gabriel isn’t fixed, Raphael is getting my name carved right into his forehead.”
The moment that you stepped into the room, you silently prayed that Raphael held up his end of the bargain. You really didn’t want to have to face the archangel again.
There was also the fact that you weren't sure how you would handle things with Gabriel if he was still out of it. You missed your lover! The past few months had taken a toll on your mental well being.
“Dean! Sam! I’m back! Is Gabriel…”
You ran into the living room and froze the moment that Gabriel’s attention locked on you.
“Hi, sweetheart.”
You stood motionless for a moment before taking off across the room and threw your arms around Gabriel’s shoulders. Gabriel wrapped his arms around you as you knocked the angel off of his feet.
“You’re you again!”
You said before pressing your lips to Gabriel’s in a hungry desperate kiss. All you wanted was for some kind of intimacy. After so many months of being a caretaker, you wanted nothing more than to feel Gabriel kiss you.
Gabriel didn’t disappoint either. One arm locked around your waist while his other hand held the back of your head gently. He didn’t say anything for a moment before letting you slowly slid down the length of his body to stand on your own feet.
“Almost, the same. Y/n, I am so sorry about all of this.”
You shook your head and delicately put your hand to his lips.
“It doesn’t matter. You’re okay. That is all that I care about.”
Gabriel reached out and pulled you back down onto the couch beside him. You quickly sealed the space between your bodies. At the moment, you couldn’t be close enough to him!
Neither of you noticed Adam who was looking totally disgusted. Dean, meanwhile, stood and pulled his younger brother out of the room. He knew that the two of you needed privacy and this conversation would be easier if they weren’t there.
For the first few moments, you simply enjoyed the feeling of Gabriel actually holding you back.
“Gabriel, what the hell were you thinking?”
Gabriel tensed underneath you.
“I should ask you the same question. What exactly have you been up to?”
You stood up and watched as his golden eyes focused on you, not blinking.
“I kind of threatened to carve my initials into Rapahel’s forehead if he didn’t fix you. Apparently he believed me enough.”
Gabriel’s mouth fell open. That was the last thing that he expected to hear! You had gone and confronted his brother with only Jack and Adam as company. Gabriel was horrified! You could have been hurt or killed so easily. Gabriel would have been devastated if he came back to himself and found out that you were dead. He would have gone to Michael and let his older brother stab him! Gabriel wasn’t about to spend the rest of eternity alone without you!
“Y/n, what were you thinking?! You could have been killed! You were lucky that Raphael didn’t kill you. That was crazy!”
You stopped pacing and turned to face your lover. Gabriel was mad!
“Yeah, and you went up against both Michael and Raphael when you promised me that you wouldn’t do anything crazy like that. Gabriel, I know that you are an archangel like them but two against one is never a fair fight...no matter what the species.”
“I’m not really an archangel at the moment.”
Gabriel said in a low tone.
“My grace is too low to really be able to do anything at the moment. It will recharge but...it will take a while.”
You frowned and sat back down beside him.
“It doesn’t matter.”
Gabriel’s amber eyes flickered in your direction. He was clearly annoyed.
“How can it not matter? I am not me without my grace! Now there is the fact that my brothers definitely know about us and I can’t do a damn thing until I recharge.”
You slapped your hands on your thighs before getting up and looking into the kitchen where Sam, Dean, Jack, Adam, and Cas stood watching the two of you. Rolling your eyes, you turned back to Gabriel. The more you looked at him, the more he resembled the archangel that you first met. His eyes were cold and made you think of Raphael's eyes
“It's not like this house is full of hunters! I mean, hell, we can all be pretty kick-ass if push comes to shove.”
“You think that you are going to beat two beings that have been around since the beginning of time by threatening to carve your initials into their forehead? Please! I can tell you stuff about what we as archangels have done that would make you shiver in fear. I’m not a pet, Y/n. I am still an archangel and could hurt you very easily if I wanted to.”
Gabriel’s tone was almost foreign.
“Yeah, but you won’t.”
Gabriel stood up. He quickly reached out and pulled you into his arms.
“Of course not, but my brothers will. We have to come up with something.”
You nodded, snuggling your face into his shoulder. Reaching up, you stroked your fingers through his hair. You couldn’t help but feel a little sad when Gabriel tensed under your touch.
“We will. We always do...besides we won’t be on our own. Come on, let’s go to my room. I want some time without my doofus brothers listening in.”
Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“That sounds really nice.”
Once in your room, Gabriel wrapped his arms around you. You relaxed in his arms before slowly beginning to unbutton his shirt. Gabriel didn’t move for a moment before taking your hand into his.
“We don’t have to rush.”
You nodded.
“I know, we don’t but...I need this.”
You stood on your tiptoes and pressed a chaste kiss to Gabriel’s lips. When he smiled against your mouth, you felt relieved.
“I never said that I didn’t want it. How long has it been?
Gabriel gently stroked his finger down your cheek before tilting your face to his. You sighed.
“At least 3 months.”
Gabriel chuckled and pulled you toward the bed.
“Then we have 3 months to make up for.”

The day is June 15 2020
The time is 3 am
The situation is that the world has fallen into a pandemic of Covid-19, and my job closed down in March, leaving me with lots of time on my hands. Despite my doubts, I fell back into Supernatural, deep into it, and I am now rewatching it. I thought it would be fun to try and see how much I could remember from earlier seasons before I watch them all
I have watched up to 1x14 at this point, so those episodes are fresh in my mind, but lets see what else I remember
Season 1
“Dad’s on a hunting trip, and he hasn’t been home in a few days”
“Saving people, hunting things, the family business”
