We are a Dragon Age Fanfiction server focused on providing a safe place to discuss dragon age fanfiction topics including but not limited to topics that other servers would deem are too "problematic" for them to be discussed. We do not believe in harassment or judgement for your fiction tastes or ship tastes. This means we are a pro fiction and pro ship server, so long as you tag and warn accordingly we're all good.

All depictions of fictional entities must be adult in their culture/race/species and must pass the Harkness Test. (This is due to Discord's Terms of Service).

Expected Atmosphere & Behavior

We are a pro fiction and pro ship server. This means anyone can write and ship whatever they want in fiction as they are fictional characters. And we do not judge them for it or hold anything they write or enjoy in fiction as a reflection of their real life morals and behaviors. Someone writing/reading about murder/noncon/incest/etc, does not mean they want to engage in those activities irl.

Avoid Real World Discussions on Politics, Economics, Abortion, and Religion (unless a specific thread was created by a Staff member only). Otherwise, declare PEAR in a chat if anyone gets too close to these topics to remind them of this rule.

No generalizations of real life people. This includes but is not limited to any gender, women, men, trans, NBs, white, black, POCs, cultures, sexualities or romantic inclinations, religions, beliefs or lack there of, etc.

Character, fic, and author (etc) bashing will not be tolerated. Do not call anything "bad writing" , just admit it's not catered to you or you don't like it and move on. Also critiquing is one thing, but bashing is another thing. It is an immediate timeout if you break this rule.

Do not bring drama from another server here. No sharing screenshots from other servers here. Nor sharing screenshots from this server to another. If you're caught, that's a formal reprimand and removal of any privileged roles.

Do not insist fictional characters or cultures are canonically comparable to real world cultures or marginalized groups. There is a difference between inspired by and based on and 1-to-1 correlation.

No X-is-canon ideology. Not playfully and not seriously. In a game with choice based variables, no character portrayal, sexuality, or romance is canon. Respect that.

Be a Considerate Community Member

AI generated art, fics, audio, etc are not allowed to be shared here.

All visual art must have a source link to the artist. If you cannot find it, then do not link it. If you are the artist, then upload somewhere else before sharing. Yes this includes in progress works. Make a server, upload it there and hotlink to here if you must.

We use forum channels to reduce channel clutter. If you want to see something about a specific character you must follow the post in the forum to get notifications about it. Muting to opt out is only needed for regular text-channels.

All pictures of spiders, centipedes, waterbugs, cockroaches, mice, and dolls must be spoiler tagged & warned for at all costs.

Wait at least an hour before creating a new poll in any channel. Refrain from making meme or jokey polls outside of the funny channel.

Now, it's been a while since I last read the Beastars manga. And I didn't really click with Yahaya while I was reading, other than horrified respect. Obviously, spoilers for anime only peeps below

I did love the relationship he and Gosha have, and how Yahaya took special interest in Legoshi because of how he reminded Yahaya of Gosha. It's all so traumatically gay of them tbh.

The carrot fields... both horrify me and instill a great respect for this vigilante horse.

Bit of accidental Impish Lore Dumping, but I have a relative who works with horses. While I will never ever claim to be an expert by proxy, I do know some things about horses that you'd only really know if you're around horsey people.

With that in mind, it really adds to the whole indulgent and strong-willed perception that the fandom has. If you'll follow my thoughts for a bit:

Horses are opportunistic carnivores. They don't need to eat things like birds, mice, or snakes; but they choose to do so.

Horses can't eat too many carrots. It's good as a treat for good behaviour and some forms of training, but it's like chocolate for humans. You can't have a long healthy life if you have chocolate three meals a day.

So Yahaya has not only taken his version of justice out on the criminals he's captured and turned into fertiliser... he's making it a luxurious treat for himself through his carrot farm. He could easily cut the middleman, as he is biologically capable of doing so.

But Yahaya is a classier, scarier beast with strong convictions.

I'd like to think he thought of eating the carnivores as poetic justice, but never wanted to face criticism for being "just like them" (or becoming addicted to meat like some carnivores do). So in this roundabout way, he's still consuming the consumers in a manner that fits a herbivore, and punishes the criminal carnivores in a - in his eyes - fair way.

Horses are fucking terrifying the more you learn about them, y'all.

But they're also fucking hilarious. Some horses on a hack will flip out, thinking a plastic bag in a nearby bush will murder them in their sleep. Yahaya has to be particularly "bomb proofed" to handle his duties as Beastar, but the idea of him scared silly over a plastic bag is... I need to see some fanart of this tbh
