ACE ATTORNEY

spiky twink rebooted

a very silly highschool au chatfic. crack with minimal angst here and there to carry some plot along, but it's very low-stakes. really just something i write for fun to wind down. perfect if ur looking for some good ol crack to turn your brain off to!

waiting for godot

a three-part fic exploring mia and diego's story in ace attorney - before, during, and after his coma. it goes into the background of their relationship and dives into godot's mentality after waking up and finding out about what happened to mia. angst with a somewhat bittersweet ending, canon compliant.

SOME OLDER FICS

Object Class: Fey - completed. an ace attorney scp au, very miego focused with some light background narumitsu. does not represent my current quality or style of writing, but i still enjoy the story a lot and am proud of the fic as a whole!

Time Paradox at The Turnabout - discontinued. a time travel fic of sorts. various different versions of various different characters travel to one time period, hijinks ensue. not that well-written and was never completed, but you might enjoy the concept!

FNAF

THE SCRIPTVERSE

the scriptverse is a trilogy of scripts + a prose prequel which seeks to retell fnaf lore completely. it sticks to canon in some parts but deviates in others, so it will surprise you even if you know the lore inside out! i made my own changes to the timeline, mixed and matched stuff from the movie, books and games... overall, just a big revamp of the whole thing, all told through movie scripts!

the series is made up of:

MR AFTON, a william-focused first part retelling the missing children incident

MR SCHMIDT [act 1], a michael-focused sequel retelling william's trial shortly after

MR SCHMIDT [act 2], a massive third part to the series which deals with the fallout of the murder and the trial, michael meeting jeremy, ghosts showing up in the pizzeria, and michael finding out he has a sister he didn't know about! crazy stuff!

mr emily & ms schmidt, a prose prequel to the series which focuses on how henry, william and his wife clara met

WYNNCRAFT

warm hands, cold hearts, gentle smiles (also holy shit is that bak'al over there?)

a fic which focuses on exploring the dynamics between the four twain brothers as kids + includes an appearance from wynncraft's favorite bitch boy. also, i made theorick less of a bitch by explaining WHY canon theo is such a bitch!

my legacy in death, your legacy in ice, our legacy in blood

a follow-up of sorts to the above fic, focusing on mael having to help nesaak post-theorick freezing it. the second half of the fic looks at the time mael spent training bob. all around lots of angst, some hurt/comfort in the second part, and a very, very bittersweet ending.

requiem

currently ongoing!!! an x reader fic that has you, the player, take on the role of the villain. you team up with bak'al to take revenge on someone who has wronged you. the fic, and even its description, contains BIG spoilers for wynncraft's late-game quests, most notably a journey further and a hunter's calling. it also explores some dark and uncomfortable themes, please refer to all relevant warnings!! read at your own risk!

a city of self-fulfilling prophecies [paladins superhero au]

currently ongoing!!! a paladins superhero au that i've been putting together for years, and am now finally writing! most champions will be included as characters, with maeve, ying and lex as the three protagonists and corvus as the lead villain, alongside evie, cassie & kinessa, lian & rei, octavia and many others as major characters!

SOME OLDER FICS

the scholar loved the scion // and the scion loved the scholar, but not in the same way - completed. a short fic exploring a one-sided relationship between lian and rei. hurt, and no comfort!

FAITH

soul of christ (sanctify me)

a short fic which focuses on john and lisa's childhood, with a nice portion of catholic guilt and queer shame on the side (yes i projected onto john. no i am not sorry). very experimental but probably one of my personal fave works ever!!!

X-MEN (movies)

oh, i will ruin you (it's a habit, i can't help it)

a very short cherik one-shot, because they've infected my brain. it's just them flirting and making out tbh. nothing more nothing less. but i'm pretty proud of it!

again and again and again and again

a 5+1 exploring charles' post-first class depression era, from hank's perspective. lots of bitterness, lots of anger, lots of sad feels, and a bitter-sweet comfort ending.

and daddy made a soldier out of me

currently ongoing!!!! the first fic of two in a big xmen au i've been putting together for two months now!! the au itself involves a lot of concepts and combines them to form a more complex retelling of first class, the ten year gap, and dofp. the changes to the story include; - cherik as soulmates - erik raising wanda and pietro, then him and charles raising them together - after the beach, wanda leaves with erik, and pietro stays with charles - the twins grow up apart (and erik doesn't get arrested, so he actually gets to raise wanda) - dofp reunites the family forcefully - angst ensues! - also, a few other mcu characters have been added into the storyline as alternate no powers/human versions to themselves to help with plot stuff. this means the inclusion of wandavision!!

OTHER FICS

below you can find all my other fics - these i'm a little less confident in, because they're either older works or discontinued ones.

tommyinnit - dragonborn! - discontinued. dsmp skyrim au, sbi focused, secondary dream team focus. i really loved this fic and writing it but was forced to discontinue due to... stuff(tm). im still very passionate about the story and happy with what i wrote here, so i recommend it if you're into it.

The Between Dreams and Memories Series - discontinued. a complete retelling of the dsmp storyline. was planned to have 3 parts - same as above, forced to discontinue. contains 2 complete fics (part 1 and a spin off) and one unfinished fic (part 2 of the planned trilogy). one of the biggest fics on my account, a product of several years of work, and a very important work for me, even if its quality doesn't hold up. read if you wish!

a house full of serial killers VS the barbie movie starring margot robbie and ryan gosling - completed. a very very stupid creepypasta chatfic oneshot. i wrote it in one sitting because i was bored. it's nothing special, but it's pretty funny!

dance with the devil - completed. a very short dsmp oneshot, focusing specifically on c!niki and c!schlatt. im still pretty happy with how it turned out!

Deserve Better - completed. a pretty badly written who killed markiplier oneshot. darkstache focused. one of the first fics i ever posted!

laughter [anidala] - completed. a short star wars one-shot i wrote for my girlfriend, focusing on ani and padme!

Lizzy Hail: Brugmansia aka Angel's Trumpet

Vivacity, vibrancy, health, danger. The flowers which grow on the brugmansia are part of the nightshade family, meaning that they have slightly toxic properties. Because of their size and unusual shape, the angel's trumpet represents vivacity and vibrancy.

Booker Reed: Queen of the Night

"Enjoy small moments because they do not last". The symbolic character of the epiphyllum is its short flowering time, therefore, people commonly used the blooming epiphyllum as a metaphor for how good things don't last. On the other hand, because of this rarity, it's also a sign of luckiness for those who see its bloom.

Andric Roche: Protea

The primary symbolic meanings of the protea flower are strength, courage, and resilience since the plant survives in extreme climate conditions. Proteas also symbolize diversity, due to the hundreds of variations in color and shape found within their genus.

Cara Evelyn: Pansy

"Thoughtfulness, remembrance, you occupy my thoughts". Pansy flowers are known to symbolize several things, including love, affection, free thinking, and happiness. The pansy's heart-shaped petals and bright, bold colors are often associated with love and affection, and the flower is often given as a gift to express these sentiments.

Mia Harris: Morning Glory

"Love in vain; affection". Morning glories have symbolized love that was never returned, but have also been seen as a sign of undying love.

Nameer Khatri: Violets

Violets signify wisdom, loyalty, hope, and faithfulness. Giving someone a violet let's them know that you'll always be there for them.

Reilly Mosswolf: Sunflowers

Sunflowers symbolise loyalty, adoration, a long life and lasting happiness, also good fortune and positive opportunities. Sunflowers symbolize unwavering faith and unconditional love.

Eryn Mosswolf: Purple Hyacinth

Purple hyacinths can symbolize multiple things, including sorrow and a desire for forgiveness. The fragrant purple blooms could be a way to let others know you're thinking about them after a death in the family.

Dara Brookor: Zinnia

While zinnia has many different meanings, it is usually associated with friendship, endurance, daily remembrance, goodness, and lasting affection. Zinnias are one tough bloom! Zinnias also symbolize a “joyous endurance.” They are happy to bloom in the steaming heat of summer and really any other trials it encounters, such as drought and bugs, yet they never fail to produce vibrant, beautiful blooms!

Tanar Orinan: Gladiolus

The gladiolus flower typically symbolizes honor and remembrance, but it has many other meanings too such as: Strength of character. Faithfulness, sincerity, and integrity.

Myris Orinan: Blue Daisy

Blue daises have a meaning of long-term loyalty and trust so you can send them to a friend, a long-term partner or a family member who you care very much for. These daisies are pretty rare to find but not impossible.

Nillion Kurez: Dahlia

Finding inner strength, graceful, dignity and commitment. Also embracing positive changes. Some colours of Dahlia display negative connotations including instability or dishonesty. Dahlia make good gifts for someone you admire or percieve as a strong person.

Indre Larieth: Rhododendron

Victorians sent the flower as a warning or with the meaning of ‘beware.’ It was commonly used to indicate that you were worried someone was making the wrong choice, especially when dealing with potential romantic partners.

Lauralai Morten: Cypress

Signifies death, mourning, and despair. In the language of flowers, cypress flowers may also stand for eternal love, memories of past love, or even unrequited love in vain.

Okay look I get why Mia/Miles is kind of a hard sell in fandom. You have to either tear down everything with AUs to make the premise work at all, or micromanage what's plausible during the timeline. It's Narumitsu but set to Extreme difficulty and also people accuse you of comphet.

But can we talk about the sheer romance it would be for the two people most shaped by DL-6 to be drawn to each other? For Mia and Miles to both be changed forever by that case -- but against all odds, they go from rivals to lovers while finding a way to work together against a corrupt system? Despite being the two professions that specifically aren't supposed to work together? It's like a Romeo and Juliet/To Kill A Mockingbird mashup that works better than it has any right to (and also Juliet can channel the dead).

Mia Fey in AA1: Cool, calm, collected. This woman is dependable and honest, and somebody who can be relied on by those who need her aid.

Mia Fey in AA3: Lifts two separate men clean off the ground in a fit of rage. Insults her own client on a whim. Punches her boss on multiple occasions. Considers threatening the judge. Intimidates a man into silence with her stare alone. Absolutely fucking wild.

Hmmm, actually, dunno if you were ever asked this, but what, in your opinion, are the best and worst (or your most and least favorite) villains in the AA series? (because asking for a whole tier list with all the criminals would probably be too lengthy haha)

I was never asked this!

If we're talking about the big bads (so no minor murderers like Roger Retinz), then my heart still belongs to the 3 originals.

Third place, Matt Engarde, who at the core is just a coward sociopath like many but who was actually very smart: he hired a professional assassin, he taped him just in case, he used exact words to his lawyer to convince him to take his case (probably knowing that Phoenix has a policy of defending only the truly innocent) and taking a hostage. He only got caught because he couldn't help being a smug asshole, but if he kept his mouth shut about De Killer, he would have gotten away with everything. Dude is responsible for one of the most heartwrenching bad endings in the series. Also the scars on his face tell a story...

Second place, Manfred von Karma. It takes a good writer to write a believable "perfect" enemy, and Shu Takumi delivered, because even when replaying Turnabout Goodbyes, going against this guy makes you feel small and powerless. There's actually a very good video about him by whoisthisgit. Also, the damage this one person did with one bullet to Gregory's heart can't be imagined. Von Karma was just a prosecutor, less powerful than other foes that Phoenix and other attorneys will eventually face, but what little power he had, he knew how to use it. (i still think he could have written that letter to Yanni Yogi with a typewriter, though...)

First place, Dahlia Hawthorne. This bitch is terrifying. Which is a feat, since she's no one special! She's a completely normal young woman. She's not even that good at what she does - Mia's speech how Dahlia will always be a failure is still the best moment in the series. But the sheer malice running in her veins turns her from a typical case of "sweet girl is actually a bitch" into "are you even human?". What she lacked in ability was compensated by how determined she was to make everyone in her life suffer. Not even death could stop her, that's how much she loathed the Fey family. One of the most memorable moments in T&T was her first testimony in 3-5, with her chilling theme playing in the background, as she gloated that, now that she was dead, she couldn't be punished. Also, her design is brilliant - the pretty pink dress can't make people not notice her utterly uncanny porcelain face, her unfeeling smile and giant black eyes.

Special shout out goes to the Mastermind in AAI2. I watched it a while ago, so I don't remember all the details, but not only he was someone no one could have guessed, not only he was smart enough to never dirty his hands, but he also... could be hardly blamed. He really was wronged a lot in his life. There aren't many major tragic villains in the series so he stands out.

As for my least favorites... easily Quercus Alba, for being only memorable for being an absolute pain in the ass to take down, and Queen Ga'ran, for having the worst design in the series, for being a mix of all 3 villains of the original trilogy + Morgan Fey without anything that makes her unique (aside from the horrible dress), and not even using her unconceivable queen powers to protect herself well, instead deciding to engage in a trial where she might eventually be caught out of amusement. Kristoph also deserved to be written better, because there's a reason Manfred's pettiness is seen as scary while Kristoph's is seen as "dude, really?"

I'm going to answer these for Darkling, because if I include Stolen or Chronicles of Verald in here, this is going to end up being a super long reply (But if you're curious about those specifically, feel free to drop another ask in my inbox :D)

What part of your wip(s) are you the most excited about?

I'm most excited about exploring the way Lizzy is coming out of from behind her walls more now that she's beginning to settle and find her feet in the mortal realm.

Many people noticed that Lizzy is quick to anger, and a large part of that is because the Fey tend to be pacifists. Anger was an easy defence when she was in Arbaon, but it doesn't serve her quite as well in the Mortal Realm.

Is there a particular scene that you've been eager to get to?

For Darkling, I have a few! Some of them are super spoilery so I can't mention them but I cannot wait for the first time Lizzy comes face-to-face with Sethan Blackwood. I won't say more but if you've read Changeling you'll know why this might be an important moment for Lizzy!

There's also a specific moment in the Climax of Darkling that I'm excited to get to. That will reveal more about Lizzy to the readers and to Lizzy herself, that may hint at how she'd going to become further embroiled within the mortal realm throughout Book Three.

Are there any characters you're super hyped to be able to write about?

Sethan Blackwood. I actually have written him a little bit in the free Reader Magnet Novellette, "Whatever Happened To Madeline Hail?" and he's just so much fun to get into the mindset of.

He's completely insane, of course, but so much fun :D

I'm also missing Mia Harris and Nameer Khatri a little bit. This may change in the final draft but as of right now neither of them are due to make an appearance in Darkling, although both should be returning for Fey Touched. Mia is a delight to write because she's absolutely a stereotypical "Queen Bee Bitch" but there's more going on beneath her surface that I'm excited to dive back into.

As for Nameer, he unexpectly became my favourite character to write in Changeling, so I'm missing his light-hearted humor right now. And I had a discussion with mum yesterday that's given me some interesting potential twists and idea's for his character that I'm itching to explore!

On the other side of the glass, Maya Fey lifts her head for the first time since Phoenix has met her. Confusion and hope swim in her eyes.

“You’ll defend me? Are you sure?”

“Not like you have a lot of options,” Dawn mutters at his side, too quietly for Maya to hear.

“I wouldn’t offer if I wasn’t sure,” Phoenix says firmly.

Maya’s eyes shine with tears. “But… why? You don’t even know me. You walked into that room and saw me with my sister’s body. For all you know, I did kill her, so why—”

“Of course you didn’t kill her,” Phoenix says sharply. “You’re right, I did see you. I saw you crying over her. I saw how shocked and frightened you were to see her like that.” Across from him, Maya’s tears fall. “I know you didn’t hurt her, and that means someone else did. And if you go down for this, then they’ll get away with it, and I can’t let that happen.”

Maya lifts her chin further. The dӕmon in her lap finally stirs and stands up straighter. It’s a raven, and Maya’s grief shows through in its dull eyes and poorly groomed feathers. “All right,” Maya says, hands curling into fists. “Then I’m in your hands. Ask me anything, and I’ll tell you whatever I can.”

“Ask her what’s with that weird get-up,” Dawn mutters to him. “It’s been bugging me since last night.”

Phoenix is about to hush her when Maya cocks her head. “Sorry, I didn’t quite catch that. Was your dӕmon asking about my clothes?”

“Don’t mind her,” he says, wincing. “We were just curious, but we didn’t mean—”

“It’s okay.” Maya smiles ruefully. “I get that question a lot, from humans.”

“Humans?” Phoenix echoes.

“Yes.” Maya gestures down at her loose, eastern-style robes, and the oddly-shaped pendant around her neck. “This is the traditional garb of my clan. The Kurain witches originated from eastern Asia, but a few centuries ago we migrated across the ocean and settled in new territory on the west coast of North America. I mean… it wasn’t America yet back then, but… you get the idea.”

“You’re a witch?” Phoenix’s mouth falls open. “Wait—if Mia was your sister… was she a witch, too?”

“Of course.” Maya smiles sadly. “All daughters are witches, and all sons are human. That’s… how it works.”

“Wait a minute, wait a minute.” Phoenix shakes his head. “I remember studying this in law school. If you’re a witch and Mia was a witch, then how are they holding you for Mia’s murder? I thought witches handle their own justice, no matter where the crime is committed. You’re supposed to have diplomatic immunity or something.”

Maya winces. “It’s… complicated. See, Mia left home years ago, and one of the first things she did was apply for citizenship here. It’s… not really common for a witch to do that, but she wanted to study and practice law, and citizenship made it easier. But now…”

“As a US citizen, Mia was legally a human being,” Phoenix finishes for her. “Which gives the state the authority to put you on trial for her murder.”

Maya nods. “Right. I’m sure she didn’t mean for that to happen, but…”

Dawn hops up, putting her paws on the little shelf below the window so that she can see better. “Why did Mia want to become a lawyer in the first place?” she asks. “I mean, we never would’ve guessed she was a witch because… well, witches don’t tend to care much about human affairs. Since they—er, you live so long, and everything.”

At first, Maya doesn’t answer. Then, wriggling out of her arms, her raven dӕmon flutters up to perch by the window.

“There was an… incident, fifteen years ago,” he says.

Dawn lowers her head so that they’re on equal eye level. “What kind of incident?”

“A murder,” the raven replies. “There was an uproar over it at the time, and it brought human law officers to the Kurain clan. They were out of leads, so they asked for magical aid.”

“And… your clan agreed?” Phoenix asks.

“There’s an ability,” Maya speaks up suddenly. “It’s very rare, even among witches. Only certain family lines have it: the ability to channel the dead. Our mother had it. My sister had it.” She touches the pendant around her neck. “I was born with it, too. Our mother used it to contact the victim. A human was arrested—the only person who could have committed the murder—but he was acquitted. And…” Her voice caught.

“Mother’s involvement was kept secret,” her dӕmon continued. “It couldn’t get out that witches had interfered in a humans’ criminal investigation. But a man… found out. He exposed it to the world, and it spread like a wildfire. Everyone knew that she helped them, and that she was wrong.”

“She had to give up her place as clan queen,” Maya says quietly.

Phoenix almost chokes on the air he’s breathing, at the same time as Dawn splutters, “Your mom was a queen—”

“She left the clan, not long after that. No one knows where she went. And years later, Mia left, too.” Maya takes a deep breath. “She wanted to find out who hurt our mother like that. And the only way she knew how was to play by human rules for a while.”

“That seems… drastic,” says Dawn.

“She was our mother,” Maya says sharply. “And that man—that stranger hurt her. Don’t you understand? There was a reason they kept her help a secret. The Kurain clan almost lost all of its alliances. The only reason we aren’t pariahs among our sister clans is that my mother abdicated and exiled herself. He put all of us in danger when he did that to her.” Her tearstained eyes harden with anger. “Mia couldn’t find another way. She had to find evidence so he could be put on trial among humans, and make sure he was found guilty. And that way—”

“He’d be subject to a witch’s justice,” Phoenix says faintly.

That’s a big part of diplomacy with witches. If a human commits a crime against a witch, the humans are the ones who hold the trial, but the witches get to decide the punishment on a guilty verdict.

It’s usually death. Witches don’t screw around.

Wait, death. Of course!

In an instant, Phoenix has a brainwave. “Wait a minute—Ms. Fey, you’re a witch. And you said you have this ability too, right? This magic spirit-channeling? So you could contact Mia’s spirit!”

Maya wilts. “I… no. I can’t. I’m sorry.”

“But—”

“We’re still learning magic,” her dӕmon says sadly. “It takes a lot of power to call a spirit back, and we just… We aren’t as strong as Mia was.”

“Zech and I aren’t even separated yet,” Maya says softly, stroking his wing. “We were supposed to perform the ritual this year. Mia said—” Her voice breaks again. “Mia said she and Archimedes would come to the North with us.”

Phoenix’s heart sinks, both with sympathy and with disappointment. Of course it couldn’t be that easy to find the murderer and give this poor girl closure.

“Okay,” he says. “That’s alright. We’ll just have to do this the human way. I’ll take it from here, okay? I’ll figure this out.”

Maya nods, then says, “White.”

“What?”

“The man who hurt our mother. I don’t know his full name, but my sister told me that much. His name is White. I know it’s not much, but maybe it’s a place to start.”

Phoenix sighs. This is so much bigger than he thought it would be. “Okay. Thanks, Ms. Fey. You’ve given me… a whole lot, actually.”

Maya smiles. “Whatever it takes to avenge my sister,” she says.

“...Okay.”

“We’re more of a justice guy than a revenge guy, but to each their own,” Dawn says.

“It’s our way,” Maya answers. “We prefer to put things to rest permanently.”

Dawn is about to get off the shelf, but hesitates. “Speaking of that… something’s bugging me. And maybe it’s not relevant, but it’s… well, you know, it’s bugging me.”

“What is it?” Maya asks.

“Well, everybody knows witches keep to themselves,” Dawn says. “They live so long that countries change all the time, they don’t care about money because money changes too, so… how did those detectives convince your mom to help them?”

Maya blinks. “Oh, that. Well, it’s true that we don’t care for possessions and we don’t have currency, but we do trade in favors.”

“So the police owe your clan a favor?” Phoenix asks.

“No, the favor was already paid, in a way.” Maya pauses. “I don’t know a lot about this, because I’m only one hundred and seventy and our aunt always said I should be focused on training instead of poking my nose in politics—”

“Only a hundred and seventy,” Phoenix says weakly.

“But the murder didn’t just cause a stir among humans,” Maya says. “The victim had friends in the witch clans, including my own.” She purses her lips, stroking her dӕmon again. “You have to understand, we value our allies and friends. Especially human ones, since we already have so little time with them. We don’t take their deaths lightly.”

“So the witches had a real stake in finding the killer,” Dawn mutters. “It wasn’t just a random favor.”

“Right,” Maya replies. “He was a friend to some of us. I even heard that a witch from another clan had a child by him. It was a son, though, so he would have been human.” She pauses. “I was focused on training when this happened, so I don’t know any details. I’m not sure if it helps.”

“It helps a lot,” Phoenix assures her, not altogether certain that it does. “It’s better than going into this blind.”

“Speaking of which, we’d better get going,” Dawn says, finally hopping down. “We’re burning daylight, and we still have to weasel evidence out of that detective.”

Phoenix nods. “Okay. Sit tight, Ms. Fey. We’ll take it from here.”

For a moment, Maya Fey locks eyes with him. “Thank you, Mr. Wright,” she says, with a solemness that looks almost eerie on a face that looks no older than seventeen. The ragged black raven perched beside her only enhances the effect. “I won’t forget what you’ve done for me, and my sister.”

Phoenix can’t think of a response yet, because so far he hasn’t done much besides ask a bunch of questions and make a promise that he’s not completely sure he can keep. So he nods stiffly, and walks away.

“That was eerie,” Dawn remarks as they leave the detention center.

“Yeah.”

“And, you do realize—”

“What?”

“Witches don’t do money,” she points out. “We’re not getting paid for this one, either.”

“I’m… not completely sure that’s true,” Phoenix says. “Witches value favors and allies, remember? Something tells me that if we pull this off, we’ll be repaid… somehow. With a favor. From an almost two-hundred-year-old witch.” He took a deep breath. “The important thing is, she’s Mia’s sister, and that’s all the reason we need. Right?”

“Right.” Dawn squares her shoulders and picks up the pace, tail held high like a banner. “Well then… let’s go find ourselves a wolf.”

I finished up my decisions for the Personas of the Ace Attorney version of SEES for my Turnabout Persona AU. I wanted to share them in order to get a second opinion. For those who don’t want to be spoiled, I’ll put them under a cut.

Please let me know opinions on this! This is harder than it looks, and any suggestions for these and future Personas would be helpful.

Just a heads up, though. There are three Personas that will carry over from canon into the AU for obvious reasons. Okay? Cool.

The following contains spoilers for both Turnabout Persona's version of events for both Persona 3 and Persona 5.

Now, in order of character Awakening (and reveal):

MIA FEY:

EURYDICE: Fool Arcana. Mia Fey’s Initial Persona, coming to her aid during the September Full Moon, but was lingering in her mind long before that. The nymph Orpheus was meant to marry before her untimely death. When he went to retrieve her from the Underworld, he lost her forever by breaking the one rule Hades gave him: he couldn’t look at her.

PERSEPHONE: Death Arcana. Mia Fey’s Ultimate Persona, technically evolving Eurydice when the Persona fuses with Thanatos in order to save the members of SEES from Nyx. Persephone is the wife of Hades and the Queen of the Underworld. After a deal was made with Demeter to save life, Persephone spends six months in the Underworld and six months on Earth

LANA SKYE:

HIPPLOYTA: Empress Arcana. Lana Skye’s Initial Persona. Lana first Awakened her Persona after following Angel, Jake and Diego into Tartarus in her final year of middle school, upon which she defeated a Shadow that had attacked them. However, due to an event two years prior to Mia’s arrival, Lana has not used her Persona and overcomes this during the October Full Moon Operation in order to help stop the Shadow controlling the monorail. Hipployta was Queen of the Amazons and the daughter of the god of war.

ISIS: Empress Arcana. Lana Skye’s Ultimate Persona. She evolved into this form following a message Lana found of her parents shortly before their deaths. She vowed to protect those she cared about, as well as her parents’ legacy. Isis is an Egyptian goddess worshipped in the Greco-Roman world and a patron of nature and magic. She is well-known for resurrecting her brother, Osiris, after his untimely death.

VESTA: Empress Arcana and Lana's third Awakened Persona. Isis converted into Shadow Lana following immense pressure from the police twisting and warping Lana's ideals. It is only due to the actions of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts two years later did Lana regain her Persona. However, due to her change in heart, a change in Persona had also come about, giving birth to Vesta. Vesta is the goddess of the hearth, home and family in Roman Mythology. She is rarely depicted in human form, however, instead being represented as a burning flame.

DIEGO ARMANDO:

ADONIS: Hanged Man Arcana. Diego Armando’s Initial Persona. It is unknown how he Awakened, but Adonis was officially revealed on a mission into Tartarus shortly after Diego was cleared to go back out into the field following an injury during the September Full Moon. Adonis was raised by both Persephone and Aphrodite, which caused the two goddesses to dispute over whom he stayed with. It was eventually decided that Adonis would stay with Persephone one third of the year, Aphrodite another third, and the final third would be with whomever he chose.

ZAGREUS: Hanged Man Arcana. Diego Armando’s Ultimate Persona. He evolves from Adonis following the death of a member of SEES, when Diego resolved to stop living in the past and focus on the future, facing every challenge that stood in his path. Zagreus was an Underworld god of rebirth, hunting and a few other things, originally equated with Dionysus. He was ultimately fused with the god in question.

NEIL MARSHALL:

MERLIN: Magician Arcana. Neil Marshall’s Persona. It is unknown how Neil Awakened, but this Persona is revealed during the November Full Moon operation, in which the User had summoned him to aid his allies and protect his friends. Merlin is a well-known wizard from Arthurian legend, serving as the king’s advisor. Merlin is also a strictly navigational Persona.

ANGEL STARR:

TITANIA: Lovers Arcana. Angel Starr’s Initial Persona. It is unknown how Angel Awakened Titania, but she first reveals the Persona after Neil rejoins SEES as it’s navigator. Titania is the queen of the fae and derived from a Shakespeare play rather than mythology and legend. She is a proud fairy whose power rivals that of her husband’s. Titania has some navigational ability, but it is not as strong as Merlin’s.

ISHTAR: Lovers Arcana. Angel Starr’s Ultimate Persona. She evolved following Angel’s resolve to protect those dear to her to keep them from falling in battle. Ishtar is a Babylonian goddess of fertility and love. Despite being a creator of life, she is known by the tile “Lady of Battles”, being known as a violent deity. Unlike Titania, Ishtar has more powerful navigational abilities.

AIGIS:

PALLADION: Chariot Arcana. Aigis’s Initial Persona.

ATHENA: Chariot Arcana. Aigis’s Ultimate Persona. Aigis’s Persona evolves into Athena following her desire and resolve to live, as well as to decide her own fate.

MISSILE:

CERBERUS: Strength Arcana. Missile’s Persona. Cerberus is the guardian of the Underworld’s gates.

JAKE MARSHALL:

ICARUS: Justice Arcana. Jake Marshall’s Initial Persona. It is unknown how he Awakened, but the shape Jake’s Persona initially took earned him the name of “SEES’ Guardian Angel” (mostly said by Diego). Icarus and his father attempted to escape from Crete on wings made of wax. However, Icarus flew too close to the sun, which caused the wings to melt. He fell into the sea, where he subsequently drowned.

PENDRAGON: Justice Arcana. Jake Marshall’s Ultimate Persona. Icarus took on this form a few weeks after Jake lost someone important, resolving to live life for them, as they would’ve wanted. Pendragon takes the form of King Arthur, with influence for the change being taken from Neil.

Excuse me AA fandom, I have a legitimate question: why is shipping Gumshoe/Mia such a rare thing? I know it’s no one’s first thought when Gumshoe ships come up, but it could be cute. So cute. And it’s wild how rare this ship is considering how many times Gumshoe brings up that he likes Mia in canon! He’s practically asking us for fluffy art and wish fulfillment fanfic!

So please allow me, the author of 66% of the Gumshoe/Mia fics on AO3, to present some points in support of the thing:

Okay so even when AA1 was a one-shot game, Gumshoe thought highly of Mia. As seen in 1-2 if you ask Gumshoe twice about her:

Lot of folks miss that exchange, since double-checking statements isn’t generally a thing in AA1! She was a beautiful person, what a sweet thing to say.

In the 3-4 flashback, we see Gumshoe first meeting Mia and he apparently melted like ice cream on a hot day at the sight of her:

yes of course I had to include the part where Edgeworth scolds Gumshoe for simping. Anyway, after Gumshoe can’t handle looking upon this angel (big mood), he gets a hold of himself and answers Mia’s questions as honestly as he can without actively disobeying Edgeworth, consistently calling her “ma’am”. And then... it’s heavily implied he never talks to Mia again. :(

But! If you show Mia’s profile to Gumshoe during 3-5, two entire years after her death:

He’s got an.........interesting interpretation of that cross-examination, ok sure. But what the heck, Gumshoe liked and respected Mia so much that he still misses her years later, despite barely meeting her in life??? that’s adorable???

Mia, on the other hand, says in 2-2 that she barely remembers him:

To be fair, cross-examining Gumshoe was *delicate cough* not the most notable part of Mia’s first day in court? But hey, Mia did remember finding Gumshoe sympathetic! If she got to interact with him more, she’d probably quickly see his heart of gold.

Look, AA fandom, all I’m really saying is that there are a lot of interactions on the table for Gumshoe/Mia if you’re willing to bend canon slightly. If Mia was around the police station a lot, why the hell couldn’t she chat with Gumshoe for some reason? Or maybe Gumshoe could arrive at a crime scene location in time to save Mia from thugs? She’s less of a dingus than Phoenix but she could still get herself in trouble while investigating! Maybe Gumshoe notices that Mia works late at the office alone an awful lot, and she’s getting a lot of buzz lately for her lawyer stuff, so he quietly finds excuses to pass by Fey and Co. just in case? AU where Gumshoe is there to stop Redd White, and Mia can’t help swooning a little over the man who bodily defended her from her greatest enemy??

Whatever timeline/AU stuff needs to happen, Mia deserves a big strong teddy bear boyfriend who thinks she’s amazing! He takes an interest in stuff like her plant’s Latin name. He seems to like acts of service, so Mia would get all the favours and errands and cuddles and backrubs she wants. And Dick probably has a very large........ desire to help Mia with DL-6 because that might also help Mr. Edgeworth! :Dd

If you want to stick to canon-compliant stuff, IIRC Gumshoe doesn’t get to react to channelled Mia? He indicates in 3-4 that he doesn’t believe in ghosts, so it could be fun to let him see Maya channel Mia up close and register what’s happening. tfw you get to talk to your long-time crush but she’s dead?? On the other hand, you crashed your entire car to help rescue this crush’s little sister from a famous assassin, so that might merit a weird-but-nice conversation. Y’know, just normal lawyer fanfic stuff!

anyway, I hope this has inspired some folks to consider the all-but-untouched fannish potential that is Gumshoe/Mia, thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Ecco qui la nostra recensione.

Queen of Air and Darkness. La Regina dell’Aria e delle Tenebre.

“We have a lot of allies,” Julian said.

Emma’s gaze slid down the beach toward Magnus and Alec. “This is going to be an important night,” she said. “And it’s being shared with us. That’s not about having allies. That’s about having friends. We have a lot of friends.”

She figured he’d make a teasing retort; instead, his face softened.

“You’re right,” he said. “I guess we do.”

Questo momento ci ha scaldato il cuore. Quando Julian ed Emma finalmente liberi di amarsi senza paure e senza ostacoli si rendono conto di quante persone sono state attratte dal loro intelletto e dalla loro forza, dal loro animo buono e coraggioso, che sono state loro vicine e li hanno aiutati a salvare il mondo ancora una volta. Perché per quanto possa essere banale, l’unione fa la forza e la diversità è un valore aggiunto (soprattutto quando si tratta di aprire Portali, cavalcare costellazioni su destrieri fatati o combattere in cima a un albero armati di fionda).

I personaggi hanno subito la crescita più significativa pur all’interno di un solo libro e ci siamo ritrovate a leggere di un ingegnosissimo Julian, pronto a parlare davanti ad una folla infinita come un vero leader, una coraggiosissima Emma, sebbene lo sia sempre stata solo tra queste pagine ci siamo rese conto quanto, un indissolubile trio, quello di Cristina-Mark-Kieran, in balia di un amore così struggente da volere distruggere qualsiasi insensato limite e confine pur di stare insieme; due giovani Shadowhunter sconvolti dal dolore, Kitty mi piace chiamarli, separati da sentimenti come perdita e orgoglio e un’unitissima famiglia Blackthorn nel senso molto largo del termine, più largo del cognome che li contraddistingue: parlo di Dru che con le sue parole ha ispirato tutti, del piccolo Tavvy, di Ty, Mark, Helen, Julian ma anche Emma, Cristina, Kieran, ALINE. Insomma i personaggi hanno brillato come le stelle più luminose del firmamento. Penso a come Kieran, il soave e dolce Kieran, abbia posto fine alla crudeltà del padre con un semplice colpo al collo inferto impugnando il segno d’amore che aveva donato al suo Mark, penso a come Julian abbia vendicato la sua Livvy con un sapiente movimento di spada nel corpo di Annabel, a come la stessa Livvy, solo più matura e dilaniata dalla sofferenza, abbia fondato una Resistenza in un mondo ormai destinato all’oblio, a come Emma abbia affrontato Sebastian Morgenstern, DI NUOVO, combattendo come una leonessa per tutto ciò a cui tiene, a come Mark sia rimasto al fianco del suo adorato Kieran, incoraggiandolo anche di fronte alla morte, a come Jaime e Diego abbiano protetto la loro Lady of Roses anche a costo della vita, a come Dru abbia salvato loro il culo, a come Diana sia riuscita a superare la sua paura di urlare al mondo chi è davvero.

E poi.. voglio parlare degli eroi senza tempo. Voglio parlare di Jace, Clary, Alec, Magnus, RAPHAEL SANTIAGITO, Tessa, Jem. Il “contorno” che non è affatto un contorno perché tutti loro anche in una saga che non è la loro bruciano come il fuoco celeste che alla fine, bene o male, riesce a trovare una soluzione a tutto.

Cassie ci regala un’altra avventura intensa, lunga, ricca fin dalle prime pagine. Che la prima parte del libro finisca con la morte del Re Unseelie è una bella sorpresa, così come la scelta di creare nel corso di questa trilogia un personaggio, Ash (che in questa trilogia è più vittima e aiutante che nemico) discendente diretto di Valentine Morgenstern, che si starà a tratti divertendo a tratti rivoltando nella tomba a causa dei geni fatati del nipotino.

Idea brillante che ci ha quasi accecate, così come l’idea di spedire Emma e Julian in un mondo parallelo (una conferma al concetto di multiverso che il nostro ultimo Peter Parker adorerebbe) che è finito nel peggior stato possibile di morte e distruzione, in cui Cassie ha avuto la possibilità di sfogarsi uccidendo perfino la protagonista assoluta di The Mortal Instruments. In cui ha fatto morire i Malec quasi come Romeo e Giulietta e ovviamente non ha risparmiato i Blackthorn.

La parte a Thule è grandiosa con le sue atmosfere cupe, colori sanguigni, incontri fatidici e conquistate vendette.

‘Lady Vengeance’ ci ha avvinte e deluse allo stesso tempo. La caotica battaglia, sicuramente non facile da gestire, è riuscita. La mancata resurrezione di Livvy è stata a dir poco straziante, considerate anche le conseguenze che ha avuto su Kit e Ty, nella mia mente già avviati verso una travolgente storia d’amore che però ha incontrato, giustamente, il muro di dolore e lutto di Tiberius. La confessione di Kit è stata inaspettata in quel momento, evidentemente anche per lui stesso e il risultato che ha portato al suo allontanamento ci ha lasciato, ben giocato, una tremenda voglia e aspettative per The Wicked Powers (la trilogia con protagonisti Ty e Kit programmata dopo TLH).

La parte deludente è stata il modo in cui si è deciso di risolvere il dilemma d’amore di Julian e Emma: troppo comodo ricorrere ancora una volta al fuoco celeste che, ricordiamo, ha in precedenza liberato Jem dallo stato di Fratello Silente e salvato Jace dal controllo di Sebastian. Una soluzione quindi forse troppo ideale, troppo clemente, considerate le alternative.

La ciliegina sulla torta è stata il matrimonio dei Malec. Credo di non aver mai letto una proposta di matrimonio più romantica e commovente.

Alla fine di questa trilogia Idris è persa ma Alexander Lightwood è il nuovo Console (sempre sia lodato) e Diego un possibile nuovo Inquisitore: si sta in una botte di ferro, se non fosse per la simpatica Regina Seelie. Ci fosse un giorno in cui si prende una vacanza dall’essere una stronza rompighiande seriale. Purtroppo però ce la dobbiamo tenere così e in più adesso abbiamo due Jace in circolazione, un po’ come sette Alec per Magnus.. anzi, forse un po’ più preoccupante. Insomma, The Wicked Powers è lontano ma siamo sicure che ci sarà da divertirsi..

This moment stroke us with warmth. When Emma and Julian, finally free to love each other without fear, realize how many people are attracted to their intellect and strength, to their gentle and brave spirit, how many have been close to them and have helped them save the world once again. It could be trivial but together we are stronger and diversity makes us even more so (especially when you have to open Portals, ride through constellations on fairy steeds or fight top of a tree with a sling).

The characters have grown the most in this one book and we found ourselves reading about an extraordinarily cunning Julian, ready to talk in front of such an infinite crowd like a true leader, a breathtakingly brave Emma, though she had always been only thanks to these pages we realized how much, an indissoluble trio, the Cristina-Mark-Kieran trio, swept away by such a heart wrenching love that they are ready to break any senseless limit or bound so that they can be together; two young Shadowhunters broken by grief, ‘Kitty’ I love to call them, separated by loss and pride and the most united Blackthorn family in the widest form of the term, even wider than that last name: we’re talking about Dru, whose words inspired everyone, about Tavvy, Ty, Mark, Helen, Julian but also Emma, Cristina, Kieran, ALINE. Well, I can confidently say these characters have shone like the brightest stars of the firmament. I’m thinking about Kieran, the disobliging and sweet Kieran, who put an end to his father’s cruelty with a single blow to the neck brandishing the gift he had given his beloved Mark, I’m thinking about how Julian avenged his Livvy with a masterly swing of his sword through Annabel’s body, about how the same Livvy, mature and torn by pain, built a Resistance in a doomed world, how Emma fought Sebastian Morgenstern, AGAIN, fighting like a lioness for everything she cares about, how Mark stick to his beloved Kieran’s side, encouraging him even in the face of death, how Jaime and Diego protected their Lady of Roses to the point of risking their lives, how Dru saved the above mentioned men’s asses, how Diana overcame her fear of screaming her true self to the world.

And then.. We want to talk about the timeless heroes. We want to talk about Jace, Clary, Alec, Magnus, RAPHAEL SANTIAGITO, Tessa, Jem. The ‘side dish’ which is not a side dish at all because all of them, even in a trilogy that isn’t their own, burn like heavenly fire that, one way or another, solves everything. Cassie gifts us with another long, intense, rich adventure from the very first page.

The first part of the book that ends with the death of the Unseelie King is as surprising as Ash’s origins and future role he’ll play in the story, considering the one he had in this trilogy, victim and helper. Surprising is his direct parentage with Valentine Morgenstern, who’s probably having a lot of fun and revolting in his own grave at the same time because of his nephew’s fey genes.

Another brilliant idea that almost blinded us was sending Emma and Julian in a parallel world (a confirmation of the multiverse concept that our latest Peter Parker would love) that’s full of death and destruction, which Cassie got the chance to take it out on by killing The Mortal Instruments’ absolute protagonist and many others. Where she killed Magnus and Alec almost like Shakespeare killed Romeo and Juliet and obviously didn’t spare the whole Blackthorn family.

‘Thule’ is magnificent with its dark atmosphere, bloody colours, fateful encounters and achieved revenge.

‘Lady Vengeance’ won us over and disappointed us at the same time. The chaotic battle, surely not easy to write, is successful. Livvy’s missed resurrection (and ghost summon) is definitely painful and heartbreaking, also considering the consequences it had on Kit and Ty, whose relationship in my mind was already headed toward a passionate love story that slammed, fairly, against Tiberius’ wall of grief and pain. Kit’s confession was unexpected in that moment, even form himself apparently and the result was bringing them apart, well played, because now we are even more eager to read The Wicked Powers (the trilogy about Kit and Ty scheduled to come out after TLH).

The disappointing part in ‘Lady Vengeance’ was the way Emma and Julian’s love dilemma was resolved: too convenient resorting once again to the heavenly fire that previously, a reminder, freed Jem from the Brotherhood and Jace from Sebastian’s mind control. A solution that was maybe too ideal, too perfect, too lenient to satisfy us, considering the other terrible options.

Malec’s wedding was the cherry on top. The long awaited proposal moved us and surprised us, so romantic, so perfect! It probably was one of the most celebrated moment in the Shadowhunters fandom.

At the end of this addictive trilogy, Idris is lost But Alexander Lightwood is the new Consul (always be praised) and Diego a possible new Inquisitor: we are sitting pretty, free and clear if it wasn’t for the (nice) Seelie Queen. May a day come when she finally goes on vacation from being a total pain in the acorn bitch. Unfortunately this fact won’t change very soon and we also have two Jace to think about, that’s basically like for Magnus having seven Alec... maybe a bit more troubling.

In any case, The Wicked Powers is still far away but we’re sure the fun won’t lack.
