Here's a sketch I did yesterday during our Sunday Scribbles Monthly Zoom Meet up. It's supposed to be a Water Rabbit as it signifies this year's Chinese New Year (which starts on 22nd January, btw). And yes ladies, I have given him a name he is called 'Gulf-ie'. I think you can guess it's a play with words as the 'Gulf's' around the world are usually coastal areas... I also wanted to use this gorgeous new fountain pen from @cultpens. Thank you for your amazing customer service and quick delivery. I greatly appreciate it.... I teamed it with @privatereserveink.official Shoreline Gold personally. I think it's a perfect match, what do you think...? Here's the 22nd January's week 3 prompts of the #penandinkchallege This week ideas have been set by @claudespaintings and @penandinkchallenge The prompts she has chosen is 'Winter Animals' and for today it's a 'Deer' Here are the facts - Deer or true deer are hoofed herbivorous grazing mammals from the Cervidae family. There are two main groups of the deer family - the Cervinae, including the Muntjac also known as the barking deer and are native to Southern and Southeast Asia. The elk, or wapiti, is one of the larger species Cervidae family, and one of the largest terrestrial mammals in its native land of North America as well as Central and Eastern Asia. The red deer, this to is one of the larger deer species. They can be found in Europe, Caucasus Mountains, Anatolia, Iran, parts of Western Asia and the Atlas Mountains of Northern Africa. The Red deer is commonly known as a stag or hart, and a female a hind. Then finally in the Cervinae family the fallow deer. - the Capreolinae, including the reindeer (caribou), white-tailed deer, the roe deer, and the moose. Male deer of all species except the water deer, grow antlers this includes the female, each year the grow and shed their antlers. Only the Horned Antelope whose antlers are permanent, they come from a completely different family known as Bovidae which comprise the biological family of Cloven-Hoofed, Ruminant Mammals that also includes Cattle, Bison, Buffalo, and Caprines. Hi there beautiful people, how's your Saturday going, today has given me the chance to actually do some personal Journalling rather than #challenge related... It's a bit of history/personal it's Plato theory 'ᴠɪʀᴛᴜᴇ ɪs ᴋɴᴏᴡʟᴇᴅɢᴇ' and how Socrates tackles this idea with his associates. But with this in mind, it's something that can be used with todays lifestyle, so with Virtue is knowledge we are able to teach ourselves to see the bad things before we act on it. Virtue is indeed all about grasping clearly what is good and why it is is good. Here's the 18th January's week 3 prompts of the #penandinkchallege This week ideas have been set by @claudespaintings and @penandinkchallenge The prompts she has chosen is 'Winter Animals' and for today it's a ' European Robin' commonly known as the Robin Redbreast here in the UK, it's name was given to these small 'flycatcher' birds in the 15th century when we started to give familiar birds human names, over time the name was shorten to just 'Robin'. Robins have also been known to not be afraid of us and have a tendency to be around the keen gardeners, especially when it comes to digging up the ground, so they can grab the odd earthworm when they come to the surface. We normally see and hear their sweet song during the early hours of the morning. I have one that visit me often and sometimes have the pleasure of getting quite close to it when I place the bird feed out. Hiya my lovelies how are you all doing today, here in the South (UK) the weather is horrid again we've had lots of rain, and winds of up to 40mph, but the temperature is very mild only 12°C for this time of year... Well as I can't really go anywhere, I decided to use one of my other sketchbooks from @therangeuk just to do some simple drawings and the odd original quotes... Just before Christmas Tersh (@skybambi) gave us (Sunday Scribbles group) a puzzle where if you find 4 words then that will be your Mantra for 2023. Well here's mine.... ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴘᴜʀᴘᴏsᴇ ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇ ᴄᴏɴɴᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ So I decided to come up with a couple of original quotes... 1) CREATION is life's fundamental PURPOSE for CHANGE that will give me a CONNECTION for my future. 2) Make new CONNECTIONS when you can, to CHANGE your PURPOSE for the future, in order to CREATE a life you will love. What do you think, would say they are positive strong messages for the future, I'd love to know... Also I honestly can't stop using this pen by @scriveiner it's really comfortable and so easy to always use, there is no doubt about it, I'm definitely getting the other colours, seriously loving it.... Hello beautiful people, how have you all been today. I've been so busy this week helping my good friend/neighbour and it was only yesterday evening that I was able to finally do some personal Journalling and use my new @visconti_italy Van Gogh fountain pen purchased from my very good friend Laura of @writing.poetry. I've been wanting to get this white ink for some while now, well I've finally done it, and of course to go with the ink I just had to have a new pen. To me black and white is a classic combination wouldn't you say, and this white ink looks striking on the black paper. Friendship and Gratitude. They say that the best kind of people are the ones that come into your life and make you see the sunshine even when it's dark and dismal outside. That's exactly how I feel with my Sunday Scribbles group, they brighten up my life with their rays of sunshine and I am ever so thankful to them for that... It's amazing how friendship are formed with those you can never dream would be part of you life, and you can't imagine being without them. Thank you for making me smile... Hello there my dearest friends, how are you all doing today. I have recently finished watching the Vikings of Valhalla season 2, and I must tell you if you enjoy historical dramas with a bit of blood and gore then folks you'll enjoy both seasons 1&2. It's the sequel to the history channels Viking series, so it's based on factual events. It begins with the St. Brice's Day massacre in 1002 and intends to conclude with the end of the Viking Age, marked by the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066. I thoroughly enjoy watching programs like this, what about you, do you enjoy historical bloody battles or historical love stories that may or may not be true...
