I just discovered the song Savage Daughter by Sarah Hester Ross and feel like it would fit well into a fic for The Hobbit.

It could be modern girl in middle earth, female bilbo, female oc, etc. Maybe whoever the main character is, sings if for the dwarves and tells them how they were always viewed as being strange, like Bilbo’s wild days as a child running through the woods looking for elves only they never grew out of that phase.

I’m not writing the concept very clearly, but hopefully you can get the idea.

Hi! Im looking for a Lord of the Rings MGIME fic.

The main character was an asian girl ( whose name im pretty sure was Lelou.) who gets found by Thranduil and his elves while traveling. A parental relationship forms between Thranduil and Lelou. A big part of the plot is that one of the trees of Vailnor is giving Lelou magic and the elves think she's an lost Easterling child or a spy. Last I remember they were on their way to Rivendell.

What Do We Burn Besides Witches? (LOTR): an attempt to poke at the MGiME trope with bonus “Westron is not English”, but the MG gets immediately imprisoned because Denethor is deeply suspicious, lol

Free-Range Dumbasses of Middle Earth (LOTR): another MGiME, this time lampshading the “Valar brought the MG to Middle Earth to save more people” and instead the MG is brought to Middle Earth by Sauron in an attempt to fuck up the timeline and our heroes’ victory. It’s also my excuse to bring in an Uruk-hai OC for the lulz, godspeed Kazoth buddy you are going to facepalm so much.

Claudeleth RomCom (FE3H): Claude and Byleth arranged marriage except drop in some Disney-Sleeping-Beauty-style identity shenanigans where neither of them knows the other is their betrothed and they fall in love with each other and angst about it :)

Chrobin Role Swap (FE13): Chrom’s the amnesiac, Robin gets a cool sword, Naga is evil, and Grima is just trying to perpetuate the natural cycle of life and death.

The Parable of Kestrel and Nightingale (Storm Hawks): Insert Dark Ace backstory here.

Graham Lives AU (OUAT): Graham doesn’t die in S1, and everything changes as a result.

The Nickel Samurai (PW): A random mishmash of scripts, cast interviews, and novelizations for the Nickel Samurai show.

Wrong Miguel (ATSV): an AU where the Miguels met and pulled a Prince and the Pauper, but Spidey!Miguel is the one who ended up dying, and Normie!Miguel has to try and take his place.

200th Work (Marvel comics): currently a misnomer since I’ve now hit 200 works, this is a college era AU where Matt is a public identity superhero. And also secretly a vigilante.

Pushing Daisies/DD Crossover (Pushing Daisies & NMCU): Matt and Foggy end up in Papen County to look for Elektra, and also to deliver a suspicious brass pocket watch to a certain pie shop owner.

Break the Window, Smash the Lock (NMCU): MattFoggy rival thieves AU!

MikeLoki Fantasy AU (Marvel comics): Loki is a god of lies imprisoned for hundreds of years, Mike is a mirror shade (doppelgänger creature created by standing too long in front of a magic mirror). They make a deal.

Terrible DD RPF (NMCU): Foggy finds out about RPF fanfiction of Daredevil and can’t help but read it.

Watching the Sentinel (NMCU): College era, Foggy introduces Matt to 90s TV show The Sentinel, about a guy who gains enhanced senses. Matt tries not to freak out and give anything away.

MGiME but OC has transmigrated/isekai'd into a heartbroken Gilraen after Arathorn's death.

OC to herself probably: No, you cannot moon over your own child! That's so gross. Legolas though... Yeah no, he's your kid's bff, get yourself together woman!

But what can OC do? She's 23 feeling 17, a widow of a man she doesn't know, and the mother of a 2-yr old Aragorn! If she cannot be a 10th walker, then she's gonna make full use of her high status and meet all her favourite characters!

So when Elrond welcomes the mother and child into Rivendell for protection, he expects a woman barely functioning through her grief: so deep was the love between Arathorn and Gilraen.

But what Elrond gets instead is a woman who flirts with him!!?? And Glorfindel?! And Erestor too??!!

(Though curiously, when Elrohir tries to trifle with her, emboldened by her rather over-friendliness with every elf of importance in the vicinity, he is treated to her motherly fussing instead, much to Elladan's amusement.)

When the company of Thorin Oakenshield passes through, you can bet your ponies that OC!Gilraen is hanging out with the dwarves instead of hiding away, fawning over His majestic Mr. Majesty, Thorin, and trying to join his quest.

(She doesn't. Little Estel puts a stop to that madness by pouting and wobbling his lips until tears glisten in his silver-grey eyes and OC!Gilraen has always been a simp for Aragorn, be he 10 or 88. She still slips a love note to Thorin before he leaves, warning him about his impending doom, which promptly gets lost in the goblin caves, washed out as it was in the rains, changing nothing.)

Just... Aragorn growing up with a mother who is full of life and love for him. A mother who would look at him and see her favourite person in all of Arda, instead of a ghost of someone she held dearer than life.

(And when he is named Elessar and crowned king, OC!Gilraen is there, 102 but looking barely a decade older than him — more a sister in the people's eyes than his mother. And OC may be a centenarian, but holy hell, that silver fox over there, is that the Prince of Dol Amroth!!??)

It's that time of year (Lord of the Rings rewatch time) and as someone who was peak age for the MGiME & crossover isekai fics, I have to know WHY are there no "Random Bat dropped into the Fellowship fics???

Give me Dick Grayson getting punted into the path of the Aragorn and the Hobbits and just adopting all of them as his little brothers, I neeeeed him to just weird everyone out, like they're all constantly like "are you sure you're not at least a half-elf?"

Imagine the GUILT the first time he has to kill an orc!! This self-sacrificing Dick just beating himself up completely over letting Frodo and Sam go, of losing Merry and Pippin. Just him keeping pace with Aragorn on the hunt and being just as good at fighting as the others.

Not-Yet-Written-Fics Game

Tagged by @runawaymun to expose all my not written fics. There are ... a lot of these that surface for a time and disappear into the ether, so I will name only the ones that are the most pervasive.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, but make it Tolkien (Elrond/Thranduil/Thranduil's OC wife) - aka Elrond's bisexual awakening, the fic

Adar taken prisoner in Valinor (Adar/Palariel) - an AU of my own Adar/OC story where they met in Valinor instead, with messy elf politics and mandatory therapy for the uruk dad.

East of the Sun, West of the Moon inspired dark fic (Adar/new OC) - This one is dark and doesn't have a happy ending (because Sauron is the worst), but if you've ever wondered what Angband was like in my headcanons - this would be the place to find out.

ira valarum (or, what were the Valar up to during the First Age anyway) - this would be a sequel to 'pax valarum' - the story of Melkor's captivity expanded. It's the First Age from the perspective of the Valar - why did they make the decisions they made? etc

Círdan recognizes a Moriondo - what it says on the tin. Cirdan knows one of the first uruks and finds them dead on the battlefield after the First Battle of Beleriand. I have a lot of emotions about this one.

Maeglin and Aredhel go to Doriath instead - Eol is Thingol's kin. Aredhel thinks that Eol will try to find them in Gondolin, so she and Maeglin go to Doriath instead. Thingol is frosty but polite to Aredhel for Maeglin's sake. This one's messy - but I Iike it.

Cirdan/OC longfic - I love Cirdan and I'm about to make that everyone else's problem to the tune of 70k words.

Kidnap fam longfic - with all the adoption trauma that I think is likely to come of that situation. Love may have grown between them but that doesn't make this a net positive situation.

MGIME with a twist (the twist is that it's also a body swap)

Popular MGIME

So, everyone knows the trope of a modern girl in middle-earth bla bla bla. Most of the times the girl in the story is relatively not into girly things but just imagine the chaos of a modern girl that is completely into girly stuff. Think make-up, the latest fashion, acrylic nails, body mist and of course not to forget a bag that somehow fits anything imaginable in the world. I just think it would be so funny to see that kind of girl that is kinda ignoring about the fact she is stuck in a world filled with war and is more concerned about the lack of electricity that she needs to straighten her hair. She would definitely not be one of those stereotypical mean girls, she would be more the kind that gets in trouble for talking with people during class and that is just overall an absolute sweetie. She is popular but for the good reasons, she would be known as a girl that is kind and dependable and is social with everyone.

I just think that a story with that kind of girl in ME would be hilarious, it could work as a tenth walker fic but I was also thinking about the Silm and first age stuff. Just imagine this girl complaining to an elf about her life changing issues of not being able to style her hair properly while said elf has been fighting an evil god for years. I can just already see the shenanigans between her and some of the house of Finwe or her exchanging hair care tips with Glorfindel.
