I think it's entirely possible that Fyodor is going to force Chuuya to activate corruption under vampirism.

Chuuya's big character thing is humanity. In 15, he breaks away from the sheep bc he realizes (read: dazai/mori manipulate him into realizing) that they were using him. His conflict in stormbringer was about whether or not he's truly human bc of arahabaki. Throughout the series we see Dazai stress that using corruption is Chuuya's CHOICE, bc he knows that being used as a tool (smth less than human) is a sore spot for him. (Although, whether or not it's truly his choice in those situations is ambiguous, but Dazai at least gives him the illusion of choice).

So now we have Chuuya, under vampirism, literally being used as a pawn by Fyodor, completely against his will... and that clashes withhe very essence of Chuuya's character.

He hates being used.

This is further aggravated bc we know that Fyodor's mindset is that everyone is just a pawn to him. He even specifically talks about Chuuya as such when he's trying to drown Dazai, criticizing him for not "using" Chuuya's ability correctly, as if Chuuya is nothing more than his ability. This directly contrasts Dazai's view of Chuuya as a human individual with distinct desires, feelings, and personality. It's one of the ways Fyodor and Dazai are drastically different.

And while I think Asagiri included this moment to 1) emphasize Fyozai's differences and 2) showcase Fyodor's ego by making a petty dig at Dazai, I also think it might serve the story later as Fyodor continues to "use" Chuuya.

This is why I think there's a decent chance that somehow Fyodor is going to force Chuuya to activate corruption under vampirism. It might be his ticket out of Meursault, plus, it puts Dazai in a really difficult position, knowing that without his nullification Chuuya will die.

It also just really hits home this idea of Chuuya having a choice, and I think it would piss both him and Dazai off A LOT if Fyodor did this... and we already know that he's petty enough to do so.

And, I only just clocked after looking for about 5 minutes that it was Meursault-related, you get me?

And so, I had a small thought.

If everything goes well, Chuuya becomes de-vampired (lol) and Sigma, Chuuya and Dazai find a way to escape, is Chuuya going to be the one to look after Dazai this time? Because, he obviously can't walk, his fucking foot/leg is broken and he's on the verge of death. But usually, it's Chuuya in that situation. So I'm hoping and praying to God that we see the tables turned and it shows how much trust they have one way, and how much trust goes the other way. Sorry, this was a useless little rant but I'm getting happy thinking about Chuuya looking after Dazai like Dazai does for him, you get me?
