This is, without a doubt, the coolest Christmas gift I got this year: a steel model kit of Minas Tirith by Metal Earth!

My assembly is definitely not the best—I broke and bent some pieces, and the whole thing is a little lopsided—and it took me about eight hours of work over three days to complete and sucked about ten years off my lifespan, but I don’t regret it. This thing is SO cool and SO detailed, and honestly pretty big for a model kit; when assembled, the base is about as big around as a CD (if you kids still remember what CDs are), and almost as tall. It’s a super cool gift, and it will have a prominent place on my desk from this point forward!

RANDOM BABBLE

I just got into Metal Earth, those tiny metal model kits...

I got the Chopper Gunner scorestreak, which is the AH-64 Apache. I had a lot of trouble with it because my tweezers and pliers were AWFUL, but I'll get more models and build them.

The ones on my list are the B-2A Spirit, F-15, and the A-10 Warthog.

The theme is that all of these are the jets seen in CoD that are available from Metal Earth. I hope that they release more of the helicopters and jets soon. Because some of them look so cool.

I might get the F-22 because I think that's what Starscream is base off of.

C-3PO Metal Earth

J'ai repris le montage de C-3PO. Et je n'ai pas de plaisir à le faire.

Il faut faire des volumes arrondis à partir des petites pièces de métal très fin, puis essayer de faire passer les pattes de l'une dans les fentes d'une autre.

Et comme l'arrondi de l'un correspond pas à l'autre, c'est l'enfer.

Mais, j'ai réussi à avancer.

L’œil attentif observera que certaines pattes ne sont pas en place.

Que ce métal est fin, élastique et brillant.

A force d'essayer de placer les pattes du haut du bras (à gauche) dans les fentes de l'avant-bras, j'ai cassé une nouvelle partie.

Je m’arrête pour le moment. Et je me dit que j'avais raison de redouter cet assemblage.

Autant le Faucon Millenium n'a pas été une mince affaire mais je n'ai pas souvenir d'avoir eu autant de difficulté à ajuster les morceaux.
